End the Charade and Annex Judea Samaria and Jordan Valley

The time has come to make one last stab at a valid and viable peace with the Palestinians. Present Mahmoud Abbas with that map he has demanded of exactly what Israel envisions the borders for their state of Palestine. The map should be based purely on Israeli desires and interests where Israel retains all of Jerusalem, all of the Jerusalem suburbs, all of Area C, the north-south corridor of the Jordan River Valley, all of the Israeli towns and settlements, and the undeveloped and Israeli developed parts of Area B leaving the Palestinians all of Gaza and Area A with some minor additions in which to make their state. It makes no difference whether the map offered is unacceptable as Mahmoud Abbas and the rest of the Palestinian leadership have given ample proof that nothing short of replacing Israel would be acceptable. Once this offer has been rejected, as have been all offers previously attempted, Israel should annex the entirety of Judea, Samaria, Benyamin, the Jordan Valley, and Jerusalem also making sure to stress this annexation includes Hebron, Shechem, Kever Yosef, Kever Rachael, the Cave of the Patriarchs and every single place which has any biblical mention or records. Then the Israeli leadership will need to prepare for the onslaught of indignant and shocked world leaders. Israel’s answer to the ruckus that is sure to follow this declaration should simply state that the Palestinians negated the Oslo Accord Treaty when they went to the United Nations seeking recognition of statehood and thus Israel has taken the resulting steps in accordance with their treaty with Jordan which ended hostilities between the two states.

There will most certainly be those within Israel who will be at least, if not more, incensed by such a move as any anywhere around the world. Let them say what they will and if necessary allow for new elections so the people of Israel can have their vote on this position. It is my belief that Israel would never have and never will see a stronger electoral victory affirming the people’s support for the complete annexation of what in reality are rightfully ours. Such a move would require the repatriation of those Palestinians in the refugee camps on foreign soils as well as the deportation of those who are in the leadership of Fatah, the PLO, Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, Islamic Jihad, members of any terrorist group, and others who are known to be opposed to the existence of the state of Israel as the Jewish state. The general
Palestinian population who have not already been granted Israeli citizenship should be allowed to petition for such status and a method of evaluation leading to citizenship once completed will need to be made into law. It should also be made clear that should any member of a family be convicted of terrorism their entire family will be deported if the family is found to have had knowledge of the plans and not reporting such in a timely and effective manner. Such will definitely be viewed as a draconian approach but the scope of the potential terrorism problem Israel faces makes such an approach necessary. The route required for those wishing citizenship should take a number of years not to exceed ten but of a minimum of five years so as to allow a full vetting of the candidates. Should any Palestinians wish to remain in their homes, farms, lands or other abodes, they should be permitted to remain as legal alien residents and be subject to the same laws as any other resident alien. Palestinians who choose to relocate outside of Israel should be granted generous compensation for any lands or properties they would necessarily need to relinquish their ownership. All of the many details can be addressed as they present themselves with the eventuality of a unified Israeli state kept in mind as the end reality.

There will be almost immeasurable blowback from all corners of the Earth. Israel very likely will be ejected from the United Nations which may be a favor more than a punishment. Some will argue that such a move would cause the world to despise Israel. Truth is that much of the world already does despise Israel. Sure Israel would not gain friends from such a move but it would establish most definitively who are Israel’s true friends, assuming there are such. The only true difference between the world’s attitude before the annexation and the world’s attitude after the annexation would be the amount of honesty being represented. Annexing those lands that at a minimum should have been annexed on June 13, 1967, will only serve to clarify and focus Israeli friends from that point forward. Any friends Israel might lose due to acting honestly on Israeli interests were never a trustworthy friend to begin with. An easy measuring stick for determining Israel’s true friends and honest critics would be to compare their view on Israeli annexation of those lands which were the biblical heartland of ancient Israel and lands liberated in a defensive war brought against Israel and their view and comfort level with the Chinese occupation and annexation of Tibet since their conquest of the Tibet in 1951. If they have no problems with the rape of Tibet and they are throwing fits over Israel, simply pay them their due attention, none.

Why the Palestinians do not Have Their State

If one is to believe the mainstream news reports or much of the noises coming from numerous sources, the sole reason the Palestinians do not yet have a homeland of their own is Israel. The Israelis reportedly refuse to compromise one iota on any of the items vital and the basis of the Palestinian requirements for a functional state. Oddly, in a strange and peculiar manner, this is exactly the truth. When the Palestinian leaders, spokespersons, representatives, advocates, activists, and other supporters state that if only Israel would grant the few simple and vital core requirements which the Palestinians insist is necessary for their statehood then everything would be complete and the terror and violence would end. It is only because the Israelis refuse to grant the Palestinians simple and straight forward items to complete the formation of their state that one does not yet exist. The question which nobody ever seems to ask of those speaking for the Palestinians is exactly what it is they require for their state to come into fruition.

The truth is that the Palestinian list of demands all revolves around one central item, the end of any existence of a Jewish State. They would be perfectly happy if they were able to “liberate” the entire area they believe is their Palestine. They would replace all of Israel and their state would contain every piece of land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. Some of their representatives actually accept that some form of the State of Israel would necessarily have to remain existent alongside any Palestinian State. They even accept this fact but insist that Israel be ruled by Muslims and the Jews would be allowed to remain under the protection provided for any Dhimmis. This is what they envision when they demand the “Right of Return” for over five million Palestinian refugees from all of the surrounding countries where the numerous Palestinian refugee camps are located. The vast majority of these refugees were not even born in 1948 when the camps were formed after the unsuccessful war was launched by numerous Arab and Muslim countries including but not limited to Egypt, Syria, Trans-Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq in order to annihilate any vestiges of the Jewish State. The stated claim of that war in the words of the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husayni in his declaration holy Fatwa, “I declare a holy war, my Moslem brothers! Murder the Jews! Murder them all!” In June of 1967 during the prelude to the Six Day War in which Israel defeated several Arab armies from Syria, Egypt, and Jordan; capturing all of the Sinai Peninsula and lands beyond the Golan Heights as well as all of Gaza, Judea, Samaria, East Jerusalem, and any other lands which Jordan referred to as the West Bank; President Nasser made numerous speeches often referring to the genocide of the Zionists, the Jews and the State of Israel. And Syria and Egypt allied once more in 1973 attacking Israel on the holy fast day of Yom Kippur presumably to undo the mistakes in history of 1948 and 1967 and despite initial gains, the Israelis held their lands and were approaching Cairo and Damascus when the United Nations, the United States and the rest of the world forged a ceasefire. During all of these attempts to erase Israel there had not yet been even the slightest mention of a State of Palestine. The only usage of the name Palestinian was by Yasser Arafat and the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) which had been formed with the sole intent of replacing the State of Israel with the Palestinian State. The PLO did not lay any claims to Gaza, Judea, Samaria, East Jerusalem, or any of the West Bank before the Six Day War. The PLO was content to allow Jordan to retain the West Bank lands and Egypt to retain Gaza.

The intent of the Palestinians has not changed since before the Six Day War, they still demand the end of Israel replacing it with a State of Palestine. Yasser Arafat called their plan the liberation of all of Palestine by stages. The aim was to gain as much of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea by negotiations and then continue the resistance through terrorism until they had freed the rest of Palestine and destroyed all of Israel. Hamas continues to hold true to the formula of replacing all of Israel with a Palestinian State and proudly exclaims this regularly. The Palestinian Authority, Fatah, and the PLO also all continue to hold to this policy though they will speak of accepting two states existing side by side in peace and security. The truth is they would accept such only if both States were governed by Muslims and either the Jews accepted Dhimmi status or were annihilated. Abbas has stated on numerous occasions that even if he should accept a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, the Palestinians would retain the rights of occupied peoples and thus the war of attrition through terrorism would continue. Since agreeing to allow the formation of a Palestinian state even if it used the 1967 lines for borders returning every inch of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem would not end the terrorism or bring the conclusion of the conflict. What would Israel gain by making such a so-called peace? This is what is behind the Israeli insistence that the Palestinians admit and recognize that Israel will be a Jewish State. Unless the Palestinians agree to the existence of Israel as the Jewish State, the Israelis are fully aware that peace treaties would not end the terror or the claims of Palestinian lands being under occupation. Everything which is occurring presently including the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanction) demonstrations and protests against Israel worldwide, the claims of apartheid against Israel and everything else that has grown cancerous from the Palestinian war of genocide against the Jewish State, and that is what they are fighting, would not end with any singing of a treaty which did not include recognition of the right of the Jews to have their State of Israel. Until the Palestinians admit to the existence of a Jewish State there can be no peace. When the Palestinians will permit the Jews to have their State in peace, then there is the possibility for a Palestinian State. Had the Palestinians accepted the existence of a Jewish State at any time previously there would already be a Palestinian State. The real problem separating the two sides is not about land or borders, it is about existence, not only the existence of a Palestinian State but also a Jewish State. That is the sole solution and it is and has been available as soon as the Palestinians are willing to accept a real existence of two states for two people, two equal people both living in peace and mutual recognition. They do not necessarily need to start as friends but that too may someday become possible.

Give Egypt Credit as Credit is Due and Blame to Where it is Due

The United Nations released a statement expressing great concern over the immense volume of weapons being illegally transferred from Libya into both Syria and Gaza. It is about time that some oversight agency, department, public official, world leader, or international organization finally took notice of a problem which has been thus far addressed by Israel and Egypt virtually alone. The United States, while not making any pronouncements warning of this danger, they did at least request the new Egyptian leadership take steps to intercede and take steps to confiscate these shipments should they cross Egyptian areas of jurisdiction or influence. But on the other side of this problem we actually find the United States and their NATO allies were complicit in this illegal transfers of weapons by providing these weapons to the Libyan rebels in the first place as well as not taking any steps to prevent the distribution of the massive stores of Libyan weapons which had been procured mostly from the Soviet Union by Gaddafi over the years he was in power. The real problems are the agents who are on the receiving end of these weapons transfers. In Gaza the recipients are al Qaeda in Gaza, Islamic Jihad, the Salafists and other terror families and entities. It is not clear whether or not Hamas has been the recipient of these weapons as they seem to be destined to reach terror entities even more extreme than Hamas. In Syria the weapons have been transferred to the terror wings of the rebels forces mostly those fighting under the Syrian Al Nusra Front which was recently confirmed by al Qaeda to be their armed resistance within Syria.

The reasons for concern are the types of weapons being transferred which include such items as portable air defense systems, mines, explosive materials, tons of ammunition and small arms. The United Nations report confirmed that “Libya has over the past two years become a significant and attractive source of weaponry in the region. The lack of an effective security system remains one of the primary obstacles to securing military materiel and controlling the borders.” Some of the arms are finding their way through Turkey while other are being directly sent into Syria. The weapons destined for Gaza are being smuggled through the tunnel systems linking Gaza with the Sinai Peninsula. It has been these particular weapons transfers which Egypt has been most crucial in preventing. Still, some intelligence reports have expressed concerns that some of the more sophisticated weapons systems as well as some larger weapons systems have made it into Gaza despite the Egyptian efforts to prevent such deliveries.

The reality is that these weapons will be distributed by numerous terror entities to their fellow terrorist entities throughout the world which will greatly increase the potential for diverse types of attacks. The antiaircraft systems could pose a critical problem for civilian air traffic once such systems are smuggled and distributed to terror cells throughout the world. This problem will only increase should Syrian President Bashir Assad fall with the Al Nusra Front of the Syrian rebel forces prove the dominant influence in whatever governance forms. Such an outcome would also provide al Qaeda with a safe country in which to set up training camps and store weapons and other materials for future use in executing ever more serious mass terror attacks. The real question has to be asked of why was this allowed to come to pass and who dropped the ball on securing the Libyan weapons stores. Since NATO, for the most part, was the main party supporting the various rebel groups, they must be held responsible for not taking the necessary steps to secure these weapons stores. This would have probably required a far more active participation of the United States as the only country with sufficient capabilities to guarantee a comprehensive interdiction. Unfortunately this would require the United States to lead from the front and not from behind.

It was not mentioned in the report but it also likely that many of these weapons are drifting south into Mali and Nigeria to the Islamic revolutionaries who are attempting to transform these two nations into Islamic states. The real and full extent of the damages caused by the international distribution of these extremely dangerous weapons will never be fully disclosed. The reason that such information will remain undisclosed is that those who should have taken responsibility for securing these weapons will work to assure that such information is squelched. There may have been an attempt to control these weapons and possibly even turn off the spigot but that effort turned out very poorly. That is another reason that very little if any information will ever see the light of day about the scope and range of weapons which are now being distributed to terror outfits possibly throughout the world. This may have been exactly the mission which sent the United States Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens to Benghazi where he was murdered along with four other Americans on September 11, 2012. That alone would make it even less likely that the full story will ever be divulged, at least not in our lifetimes.
