Looking to the Future and the Completion of the Peace Process

Reflecting on the entirety of the period after the liberation of Judea, Samaria, Benyamin and reunified Jerusalem I have realized how drastically things have changed since June of 1967. There was great hope and joy that came with the reunification of Jerusalem and having the Old City once again available for Jews and Christians to visit and enjoy their holy sites throughout the Old City and in the eastern heart of Eretz Yisroel. Looking back at that period using that hindsight which is always 20/20 vision coming from crystal clear thought I realize that Israel should have simply annexed whatever lands would have best served the future of the country. Instead Israel limited their annexations to the rest of Jerusalem and its immediate surroundings including the Mount of Olives and the historic cemetery as well as the vital Golan Heights. In hindsight it becomes clear that Israel should have simply annexed all of Judea, Samaria, Benyamin and anything else which made up the areas liberated from Jordanian oppression. Annexing the Golan Heights was wise and it might have even been expedient to have also annexed a mile or so of the lowlands east of the Golan Heights so as to be able to assure that no obstacles, tunnels or other structures of a military nature would even compromise a clear field of view and security from snipers or encroachments for the forces stationed along the heights. And finally it might have served Israel to also have retained at least part of the Sinai Peninsula, in particular the eastern sections from the easternmost mountain range to the eastern fork of the Red Sea assuring that the Straights of Tiran are never again used to cut off Israel’s seaway to all of Asia and the eastern coast of Africa. But that was not the path chosen and it is far too late now to concern ourselves with such fantasies.

The greatest error made after the reunification of Jerusalem was allowing the Muslim Waqf to retain control and enforcement of their will over the Temple Mount. This error in judgment has resulted in the destruction of countless priceless archeological artifacts dating back to the periods of both the First and Second Temples. This Jewish heritage has been permanently lost for all times. That mistake pales compared to the most grievous error and mistaken policy decision very likely in all of history. I am referring to allowing Yasser Arafat to return and granting that arch terrorist to hold any position or power. Allowing anyone with the moral depravity to dispatch youths with murderous vests filled with explosives into restaurants, malls, and other venues with the intent of murdering as many innocents as possible to hold any office which commands respect is a miscarriage of decency. The irony of pretending that Yasser Arafat, and after him, Mahmoud Abbas, were people with whom a peace could be negotiated was a fools folly. The vision of bringing two nations into existence living together in mutual peace, security and cooperation was beautiful even if it ended up being a futile venture. The idea was noble but the actual implementation was a completely different matter in which there would be no beauty to be found. After such disappointment and with the realization that an impasse has been reached, now what are the available options and which should be Israel’s target going forward?

The question is, knowing what is now known, what path is open which actually can be obtained and how would Israel be best served in reaching whatever goal is deemed to be the most equitable while still providing for a real and enforceable peace along with security for Israel and her citizenry. The first item that has to be resolved in order to begin is to understand precisely what the honest and actual position the Palestinian leadership would be willing to accept. In order to accomplish this not so small a feat one would be required to research and actually listen to speeches, broadcasts, editorials, and even school lessons which are shared between the Palestinians in their private conversing. This is actually something which is seldom taken into account by the Western mainstream media, European Union, European governments, and the American mainstream media and government. For reasons that escape all sanity, apparently there are almost no people in the Western World who are able to translate Arabic into English, French, German or any other native Western language thus their usual suppositions and position on all things concerning the Arabs and Palestinians relating to Israel are simply based on the propaganda which Mahmoud Abbas, Salam Fayyad and other Palestinian and Arab spokespeople relay in interviews and speeches made in English, French, German, or any language other than Arabic or Farsi. We know that in the European languages that the Palestinian positions are simply that they desire peace above all else and are completely willing to make peace if Israel would simply stop being so stubborn and agree to some simply items which Abbas often claims are just responsibilities which the Israelis need to perform and then negotiations may proceed and peace would be right around the corner. These minor little items actually fit well with what these same spokespeople say in Arabic, and what is that exactly? Let’s see.

The preconditions include but are not limited to, release all of the Palestinians held in Israeli prison system with an emphasis on those who are convicted terrorists or security risks, complete Israeli building freeze in West Bank and East Jerusalem, Netanyahu to submit a map of the proposed Palestine and having the map be acceptable to Mahmoud Abbas, remove all IDF and Border Police from Palestinian claimed areas, allow free import of weapons for Palestinian Security Forces, allow training exercises between Palestinian Security Forces and Arab countries’ militaries, agreement from Israel for utilizing the pre-1967 War Armistice Lines as the basis for Palestinian State allowing for exchanges if and only if Abbas approves of them, Israeli accept the Right of Return for all Palestinian refugees into Israel with full citizenship and with or without Israel acceptance the Palestinians demand the right to continue resistance until all of their land has been liberated. Once one takes these demands and digests them it becomes apparent that the only final situation the Palestinians are willing to accept is a one state solution with such state being the Palestinian state and that state must be rendered free of any Jews. What makes this even more obvious is that once you translate what is said between the Palestinians and their allies in the Arab world, you quickly realize that the sole acceptable solution is a Palestinian Arab state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, every single iota of what they believe is Palestine without any Israel. It is the way it is drawn in their textbooks and on the map in Mahmoud Abbas’s office; it is the way the Arab League depicts the final solution; it is the way many in Europe and at the United Nations believe to be perfectly acceptable if not preferable.

Once Israel and Israelis fully understand that as long as there is any semblance of Palestinian governance they will not have peace, then Israel will be able to decide exactly what their path going forward should be. Should the Israelis, and the Jewish people, decide that they will continue to live in their own lands where their ancestors resided and are the lands depicted in the Bible, then they too will realize the same thing the Palestinians already have realized, the only solution will eventually be a one state solution. Even if there were sufficient arable land for two viable nations, there is no existing politics which would permit such. Should the day ever arrive where a Palestinian state were founded alongside of Israel, it would simply become the end of the first phase of the conquest and deportation, or worse, of the Jews and their state, Israel. Once this is recognized as the truth of the situation, then it also becomes apparent that for the Jewish state of Israel to survive, it much first prevail in a struggle which has but one possible resolution, a single state where the winner of the conflict takes all of the land and the other side is either deported or murdered. This realization makes the next step painfully obvious; the people of Israel will need to decide whether or not the existence of their state is worth the efforts it will take to keep the land upon which it sits. If the answer is as expected, in the affirmative, then the Israelis will need to implement and execute whatever responses are necessitated in order to establish Israel as the existing state and decide if the Arab populations which are currently considered to be Palestinians is allowed to remain as legal alien residents, deported with compensation for loss of properties, or given a path by which they would attain Israeli citizenship.

My preference, though fortunately it is not my place to decide, would be to allow a path for those Palestinians who wished to be able to become Israeli citizens, those who would prefer to remain but not become Israeli citizens should be allowed alien status and those who want no part of the Jewish state of Israel should be given a parting gift and transportation to their desired destination provided the destination country is willing to accept them. The one additional provision which would probably be a necessity is to establish a law that should a member of a family commit an act of terror, the entire family will be deported and the individual perpetrating the act of terrorism will not be eligible to receive compensation for loss of property along with whomever resided in the same location as the terrorist. If Mother and Father live with a young adult who commits an act of terror, then their claim to compensation would initially be voided. Of course some legal challenge might be allowed in exceptional cases, but such would need to be evaluated on an individual basis. Such may not be even close to resembling the perfect solution, but the fact that the Palestinians as an entirety refuse to accept the existence of the Jewish state in any size, manner or form is the impetus forcing such measures. Should the Palestinians wish to avoid such an inevitability, they would be advised to make a real and lasting peace and accept sharing rather than insisting on removing all vestiges of Jewish presence.

In the End There Will be Only One

Evyatar Borovsky is the name of the Jewish man who was murdered while waiting at a bus station at Tapuah Junction by the recently released Palestinian terrorist Salam Al-Zaghal who stabbed the father of five multiple times in the chest. Later the same day the Palestinian news sources all honored this glorious conquest against one of those guilty Zionist occupiers who had no right to live. Minister of the Knesset Jamal Zahalka of the Balad Party stated boldly and emphatically that the Jewish settlers living on Arab claimed lands have no right to self-defense and deserve to be executed. Also heaping praise upon the recent released terrorist murderer was Fatah, the party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and one of the major political parties making up the Palestinian Authority and in control of the predominantly Arab and Muslim Areas of Judea, Samaria and Binyamin. It comes as no surprise that such a terrorist would receive such praise and be held as a role model for the Palestinian youth, but it is a new wrinkle that the official newspaper of the Palestinian Authority, which has every iota of content approved by Mahmoud Abbas and the ranking members of the Palestinian Authority, the governing body for the Palestinian people and the presumed peace partners with which Israel is presumed to offer the surrender of the West Bank in order to reach a peace, also praised this murderous act.

But what if Israel was to remove over a quarter of a million Jews from their homes and granted the Palestinians the entirety of the West Bank which includes virtually all of the lands which make up the original tribes of biblical Israel of Benyamin, Judea and Samaria. The result waiting in the future should such a peace be reached is not actually unknown nor should the resulting actions surprise anybody who actually is dealing in reality. Yasser Arafat stated the intentions of the Palestinians and their leadership numerous times as has Mahmoud Abbas as well as many other Arab and Muslim leaders from within Palestinian society and outside of it. There have been numerous repetitions of the intent televised on Palestinian TV, transmitted on their radio stations, and declared clearly in numerous public speeches. All of the evidence which all parties and those observers from around the world have full knowledge about is that after the Palestinians have received as much lands by having Israel cede the areas to them then they would continue the struggle until every inch of Palestinian lands have been liberated from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. The well-known truth is that once the Palestinians have made their truce which they call a hudna, then they will actually step up the violence and levels of terror in order to drive the Jews who they refer to as occupiers off of all the land and into the sea. The Palestinians are not negotiating to make peace but are negotiating to grab as large a foothold to serve as their beachhead for their final assault to destroy Israel as the Jewish State.

Recently United States Secretary of State John Kerry visited with Palestinian authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss what would be required to restart the peace process. Mahmoud Abbas gave as his answer that it is of foremost and paramount importance that all of the terrorists and other criminal Palestinians from Israeli prisons no matter their crime even multiple murders even those who set off bombs which murdered and maimed entire families and numerous other men, women, children, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, indiscriminately taking lives of people simply because they are Jews must be released before he would even consider returning to the peace negotiations. As an ending note Mahmoud Abbas also informed Secretary Kerry that in no way and under no circumstances could he ever recognize Israel as a Jewish state nor would he ever forget the fight for the “Right of Return” for over five-million Palestinian refugees and their descendants into Israel within the Green Line transforming Israel into a second Palestinian state where the Jews would become a persecuted minority. That is the only solution that Mahmoud Abbas will accept and he even stated it boldly and in plain language to Secretary of State John Kerry who made no complaint nor did he appear troubled or concerned in any way to these claims. Instead Secretary Kerry reiterated his intent to work to get a peace that Abbas could be satisfied with and accept. The meat of the problem is I have no doubt that not only did John Kerry understand every word uttered by Mahmoud Abbas but agreed with every concept and consequence and is willing to work with Abbas to force Israel to succumb to the Palestinian death wishes for the Jews of Israel.

The absolute truth is the Palestinians await the day when they will be empowered to plunge knives into every single Israeli Jew’s chest. That is the end aim of the Palestinian Authority but that is actually not as severe an expectation as the end desires of Hamas which holds the Gaza Strip and launches rockets into southern Israel in the hopes of destroying the lives of the Jews living there. Hamas desires to develop or otherwise acquire longer range rockets and even accurate missiles so they can better murder every Jew in Israel. But Hamas does not want to stop there as their intent is to murder every single Jew on Earth. They share this desire with Hezballah whose leader Hassan Nasralla who was quoted saying, “If they (Jews) all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide.” All that is necessary to reveal the dishonesty of all too many of the so-called Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims when it comes to Israel is to quote their own words. Nobody in honesty could listen to the words of incitements and hatreds towards the very existence of the Jewish people that are proclaimed almost daily throughout the Palestinian, Arab and Muslim worlds and claim that Israel has a partner for peaceful coexistence. A large and likely plurality would not even accept merely a position of superiority with complete control of all the positions of power, be they religious, political, law enforcement or any other manner of societal supremacy but instead would only accept the eradication and annihilation of the entirety of Judaism, all its followers and every memory or vestige of Judaism wherever they might be found. The whole idea that Israel even backed by the entirety of Judaism in the world, the entire approximately fifteen-million which makes up 0.2% of the world population, could be a viable, domineering, overpowering threat to the near two-billion Muslims who make up over a quarter of the world population is beyond laughable. Is the lands of Israel as defined as the lands from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and the Golan Heights really too much to ask? I would hope that would be acceptable but it often does appear to be beyond the world’s ability to come to grips with and accept allowing the Jewish peoples their Biblical homelands, but how about it.

Is Boston Beginning of American Intifada?

Israel is at the front cusp of their third intifada. This one thus far could be labeled the brick, rock, block and fire bottle intifada since the attacks are being implemented using large rocks, bricks, cinderblocks, and gasoline filled bottles including a flaming cloth wick (Molotov cocktails). The mainstream media world-wide tends to refer to these attacks by completely omitting the Molotov cocktails and belittling the size of the rocks by using the terms stones or even pebbles. They also refer to those who are launching these projectiles as youths or young teens when in actuality there are young men up through age thirty-five and some are young teens. What they also tend to omit is the use of slings and that many of the road rock attacks are done by launching the large rocks from a speeding car at vehicles traveling in the opposite direction adding the speed of both vehicles to the impact providing often well over seventy miles an hour speed to the impacting rock compared to the windshield it impacts and often pierces.

Going back there has been two previous intifada in Israel. The first intifada was implemented by Yasser Arafat and consisted mostly on rock attacks, stabbings and shootings. The second intifada was called by Yasser Arafat and had been planned before he joined in negotiations which he entered planning on walking out and not accepting any offer even if it gave him everything he asked for. The offer he received would have returned 95% of the West Bank, all of Gaza, the eastern half of Jerusalem and exchanges of land to make up lands equal to the 5% of the West Bank being retained by Israel. Yasser Arafat walked out of the negotiations after hearing the offer without even giving any reason for his refusal or making any counter offer or amendment to the offer. Madeline Albright was filmed by news cameras chasing after Arafat pleading for him to please return and negotiate promising they could find an agreement he would accept no matter what he desired. He completely ignored her as if he had to accept anything he would not have been able to implement his intifada and he had already planned everything out. This second intifada was extremely violent consisting of car bombs, suicide bombers, suitcase and carrying bags left in public places containing bombs. Could such murder and mayhem actually ever come to Europe or America? That depends on certain conditions and actions that are taken in the near future and is worth an investigation.

The probability of Muslim terror has been found to be related to the percentage of unassimilated Muslim population within the general population. The theory is that when the unassimilated Muslim percentage grows to between ten and twenty percent and there is a potential for radicalization being fomented within the population of sufficient strength, it is likely to cause levels of terror attacks which would be perceived as a societal problem. This alone is insufficient as people do not act in such an antisocial manner without stimulus and causation. This could be initiated by sermons from radical Imams giving sermons in the Mosque or radicalized agenda being taught in the school affiliated with the Mosque. This has been witnessed in numerous locations through northern and central Africa where nations are divided with a strong Muslim centered population bordering a strong Christian or Animist population where most of the violence occurs on the border regions. So, should the population densities begin to attain levels conducive to potential, what forms would such terror take on?

To be completely honest, the Boston Marathon bombing is indicative of what can be expected. The targets would be more varied with any place where people congregate becoming a viable target. Such places would be restaurants on special days where there would be people waiting for a table and thus congregated in close proximity. IHOP on a Sunday morning or virtually any restaurant on Mother’s Day would be examples. Also fairs, circuses, sporting events, or grand opening events, especially new shopping malls would also be inviting targets. Targeting would often tend to be aimed toward places with ties to the community and places which people would normally frequent so as to maximize the affects at making people feel uneasy when doing normal everyday life events. This is what is behind targeting family eateries, shopping centers, sports events, and anywhere families would tend to congregate. The aim is to make life so uncertain that everyday life becomes a questionable event and thus public fears are maximized. An attentive and aware public can minimize the threats by learning the signs and indicators which should attract suspicions and then having law enforcement able to make a rapid response and determination quickly with removal or other resolving of any threat with minimal interruption to normalcy. The ability to interdict terror attempts is the best solution that can be applied as it minimizes the threat and that takes away the fear factor which is the entire motivation behind such attacks. Of course the best way to address the potential for terror is to facilitate the assimilation of all peoples making them integrate and become an accepted member of the community. The efforts of every community should assist assimilation and incorporation of all members and peoples as integrated, functioning members of an open and accepting blend of neighborhoods. Fortunately, America has a strong history of assimilation and acceptance.
