The list of fools and their simple-minded solutions to the current conflict placing Israel against Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Gaza terror groups are near to endless. Probably amongst the furthest gone and beyond the cusp of these crazies would have to be United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay. Her initial foray for the most offensive attack on Israeli defensive actions again Hamas by declaring that possibly many of the maneuvers and tactics used by Israel in their defensive struggle consisted as war crimes and were illegal. Where that may be accepted by some just proves the existence of useful idiots out amongst the body public, this comment alone and even when additionally we recognize Ms. Pillay for having convened the Human Rights Commission to study and ascertain the charges of war crimes which could be brought against Israel for her actions in the conflict. No. Ms. Pillay went further as she joined the multitudes in the mainstream media who have basically pointed out the disparity in presumed civilian casualties and follow up those statistics with a query asking why more Israelis, read Jews, have not been killed or injured as a result of the conflict. No matter the answer given where Israelis so questioned attempting to explain how Israel spends billions of Shekels in systems to protect her civilians from rockets while Hamas uses their civilians to protect their missiles and as human shields, the reporter would immediately cut them off as allowing them to explain is as impermissible an act and just as illegal as Israel defending her people so adequately has been deemed illegal. The reporter on such a line of questioning simply continues to state and restate the numbers of Gazans killed or injured and continues to imply that if similar numbers of Israelis, especially Israeli Jews, are not being killed and injured then Israel must be guilty of some form of war crime or possibly committing genocide. But United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has gone even further beyond anything coming before as she is now condemning Israel for not sharing the Iron Dome technology and granting Gazan including Hamas and Islamic Jihad Iron Dome batteries to protect their civilians just as it has protected Israelis. In her mind this would be fairness. I suppose the United States should be forced to provide Iran with advanced technical plans for nuclear weapons and provide them with a number of warheads just to give them a start. Perhaps this is a part of the nuclear talks in Geneva between the P5+1 and Iran.
Then there is the dynamic duo, United States President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry who entered the fray uninvited to propose a ceasefire to supercede the Egyptian plan which had the backing of Saudi Arabia, Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, and the Arab League calling for a return to the same conditions as a similar treaty put in place after the 2012 Hamas Israel conflict. Yes, Hamas rejected the Egyptian ceasefire proposal which forces one to question why Hamas rejected the proposal out of hand and without making even the slightest change in their demands in a counter offer. The reason is obvious; they had received signals that they need not negotiate as their side would be taken up by the United States who would do almost anything to force Israel to comply with the majority of the Hamas demands, particularly to the completely open borders including an open unmonitored sea port. The sign sent to Hamas was the flight ban placed on Ben Gurion International Airport by the United States Federal Aviation Administration forbidding any American airliners from touching down in Israel. This ban was for all American airliners including both passenger and freight flights cutting Israel off from tourism and import-export via aircraft. Many European airliners and nations followed suit with their own bans. These bans mostly lasted thirty-six to forty-eight hours but this threat having once been applied now sits as a single example of how far the American administration would go in using their powers to punish Israel for any noncompliance rejecting the American terms or any other such disobediences. The Obama Administration even went so far as to attach President Obama’s 2.7 billion dollar immigration bill to aid and care for the flood of children and teens who have crossed the southern border over the last year and a half to the request for a 225 million dollar bill to restock missiles for the Iron Dome systems which have performed admirably in protecting Israelis from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and cohorts rocket barrages aimed at Israel major cities and inhabited zones. The Iron Dome is also responsible almost exclusively for the lack of Israeli casualties along with the publics’ willingness and ability to immediately seek shelter at the onset of the warning sirens. Additionally, Israel has also changed their building requirements from their original demands of one shelter per community, to one shelter per apartment building to the current requirement of a shelter in each and every apartment house or other civilian dwellings so as to provide readily accessible protection in response to Code Red Alarms.
All of these attempts to paint Israel as the aggressor and of wantonly murdering innocent Palestinian civilians demanding that Israel cease and desist from her aggressive military response to Hamas and Islamic Jihad rockets raining down on her civilians and accept whatever ceasefire offered is now officially declared to be dead on arrival. This includes the plan offered by the United States, especially the current grant Hamas their wildest dreams proposal which Secretary Kerry backs as being so evenhanded and fair as it has the backing of the European Union, United Nations, the President of the United States and all of the self-important and self-aggrandized people they have approached with this plan which was crafted by two nations the United States and rest of those mentioned above view as being impartial and commendable arbitrators of the current conflict, Qatar and Turkey. Never mind the problems Israel has with agreeing to a proposal crafted by Qatar, one of if not the greatest of financial backers of Hamas, and Turkey, the loudest and most vocal critic of the current Egyptian government and in demanding that Egypt return to being ruled by former President Morsi and the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. Now there is one demand and criteria which comes before the discussion of any ceasefire or other agreement; we demand we get our soldier back.
Never mind that Hamas breached every last ceasefire within hours of its implementation. Disregard these breaches even applied to the Humanitarian ceasefire requested by Hamas itself. Their actions breaching the final ceasefire which was proposed and backed by the United States and the United Nations and agreed upon by Israel, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian Authority and virtually everybody they could ask to sign on, as Hamas breach this time went beyond the cusp of acceptability. The coordinated assault by forces of Hamas and Islamic Jihad which resulted in two dead Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers could be excused as expected perfidy; but the abduction of one of our soldiers to hold for ransom as was Gilad Shalit is beyond acceptable loathsome antagonism. This time your criminal assaults and insults to the rules of civility are beyond forgiveness and demand one and only one response, no let up and no ceasefires until you return our soldier, period. This has to be the official position of the Israeli government and should be supported by the entirety of the civilized world. The abduction of Second Lieutenant (Platoon Leader) Hadar Goldin, 23, from K’far Saba of the Givati Brigade is not the same as capturing a soldier and taking them prisoner in time of war as you have no intention of releasing him as part of the end of hostilities. That means that there cannot be an end to hostilities and that Israel must continue assaulting the terrorist infrastructures and positions until we gain the freedom of our soldier, be that by his release or freed by our military maneuvers, either is acceptable. Israeli leadership must make clear that there will be no trading of terror criminals held in Israel for our honorable soldier as such would sully his name. Do not misunderstand the severity of this action. Hadar Goldin is more than just a soldier, by your acts you have made him the beloved son of every Israeli and we demand our son returned unharmed and immediately. As a people we demand our government never cease in their efforts to gain the freedom of our dear son, of Hadar Goldin. Should it take a firestorm that engulfs Gaza City, so be it. Whatever it takes and however we can attain the return of our son will be considered effort well invested. To the rest of the world, do not, we repeat, do not come crying to us about disparate casualty reports or using disproportionate force, we will likely be resorting to way beyond mere disproportionate and entering the level of outrageous or incommensurate force. We are now likened to a wounded tigress fighting to save one of her cubs and as such, we will spare nothing in our efforts to gain his release. To quote Japanese Admirable Isoroku Yamamoto who stated when he heard that Pearl Harbor had been attacked three hours before the declaration of war had been presented in Washington DC by the Japanese Ambassador and whose quote is most applicable to the actions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Security Cabinet, we, the Israeli peoples, demand no less of your resolve in retrieving Hadar Goldin and returning this son to us, to all of us. We, too, have been filled with a terrible resolve which comes from the hole torn in our hearts at this horrific threat to our son. Bring our son home!
