Different Visions and Angles on Terror

 

Whether attacks by a group on another people is definitely terrorism depends upon if they include attacks upon innocents as defined by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations (UN) as well as numerous other entities, governments, international bodies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The most agreed upon definition of innocents are noncombatants, especially women, children and the elderly who are clearly not military and are unarmed thus relatively defenseless. The Palestinians claim that every child and Jew is potentially an Israeli Defense Force (IDF) member and thus legitimate targets and no Israeli is to be considered an illegal target. Courts and the United Nations have defined a number of Israelis to be innocent noncombatants and as such out of bounds and whose murder is a crime against humanity and the perpetrator of such crimes to be terrorists. A further definition of a terrorist act is any illegal action taken on a population with the intent of affecting the political realities existing in a nation changing them in order to meet a political desire. Where things get fuzzier are the attacks upon military and political leadership especially of an occupying force and only enforcing troops and leadership and not other people from the occupying power such as businessman, members of the family of soldiers or family members of the political leadership who have no part in the presence beyond being relatives of those serving in the occupying power’s ruling and enforcement arms. The final difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter has a very subjective answer where the side which wins, especially in Biblical times when any challenge or war, whether your side was the victor or vanquished, very often the vanquished were forced into slavery or their entire existence destroyed bringing their existence to a formal and often complete end. This is very often a matter which is decided by those who write the history and thus depict their enemies as utilizing whatever horrific tactics in order to justify what some might describe as horrors as an afterthought despite the many famous individuals who often referred to warfare as a destructive and messy affair, especially in wars where asymmetric fighting was used by the presumed weaker forces.

 

The recent stabbings, rock assaults, and suicide bombings all used by Islamic State and Hamas in Turkey, Israel, Syria, Iraq and beyond all qualify as terror acts as they murdered randomly and largely targeted civilians and were not targeting things which were of any military significance. These attacks were also planned to be executed in such a manner as to attain the highest numbers of casualties in areas known to be frequented by in large civilians and very low probability of these attacks destroying anything of military value. Both Islamic State and Hamas are proud of their targeting of civilians and even more-so murdering children as noticed in the video below where the woman terrorist, who is in Israeli prison when the interview was recorded, was asked if she knew how many children were killed (murdered) in the suicide bombing of the restaurant. Her response is, “Three children were killed in the operation, I think.” When she is informed that there were eight children murdered her reaction is one of pride and great joy and amusement. Many Arab nations and terror groups objected to the airing of this clip claiming it was doctored to make the Arabs appear to be blood-thirsty murderers. We will allow our erudite and perceptive readers watch and figure out who had what motivations and whether revealing the pride this woman, a mother, took at the death of eight children, five more than she had estimated and she is filled with pride and exudes a celebratory emotional reaction. Of course this video was never shown on any European or American news media as it does not match their intent in their coverage of the Middle East, especially under the current administration.

 

The reaction to acts of terror presumably performed in your name has brought signs of shame and remorse from others who the terrorists claim to be representing. One such reaction was the reactions of the Zionist Congress to the terror acts of the Stern Gangs and others who while fighting against the British presence in the holy land and their anti-Jewish actions often indiscriminately struck areas frequented by British troops, their political class and the families of the British which were caught in the crossfire of an assault on the restaurant during the lunch time rush killing numerous innocents and drawing a sharp rebuke from the leader of the Haganah and the Zionist Congress. That was one thing about resisting the British that the Israelis are split over with many believing that there were actions which did loose harm upon innocents and that was not to be condoned. Too often there are some from Europe, the United States, the Arab Palestinians and other anti-Israeli groups and individuals who have pointed their finger at Israel claiming the Jews were just as evil and terroristic in their efforts to be rid of the British occupation going so far as to point to the Stern Gang and a couple of other extreme groups. The difference is the main body of the Jewish people and governance were against these acts and that Israel did not name streets after these people nor did Israelis lionize these terrorists as have the Arab Palestinians. The Jews, no matter what, immediately mourned and sympathized with the American people and offered condolences as individuals while at the same time as the twin towers of the World Trade Center were struck and felled, candies and sweets were passed out in the streets in the Arab Palestinian neighborhoods both in Gaza as well as Judea and Samaria. There is the stark difference between the Israelis and the Palestinian Arabs, the Jews love life while the Arabs idolize the nineteen hijackers and the almost three-thousand deaths they caused.

 

As mentioned, attacks made against military targets or command and control facilities, even if they are manned by civilian personnel, are warranted and defined as military targets as they are used as the central controlling function and thus mostly effecting the military and its operations. The reasons that most of the terrorist functions used against Israel are terror is due to their targeting of civilians and this is often the stated goal and not simply a side effect. Additionally, these terrorist murderers are lionized and portrayed as heroes to be emulated and the anniversary of their deaths, often at their own hands in order to produce a new set of rules which need be followed which will assure that any actions made by Israelis be seen as provocative in any manner. Israelis are reminded almost daily that they are residing, working and building their own national homelands upon the graves of the Palestinian people. First, jumbled up are names which appeared in the Biblical era so the Jews often felt a strong attachment to these places. Then there are many which have changed names yet the Jewish People will be tasked in recalling them before they are gifted away. The heart and soul of Israel lies in the hills and valleys surrounding Jerusalem and such places as Shechem, Bethlehem and other places holy to both Christians and Jews. These places have been written into the history of Islam with Abbas telling lies once again about the history where he reveals that the Palestinian people have resided in Judea and Samaria for nine-thousand years they invented the Palestinian-Canaanite language. This is all part of the claim that Jesus was the first martyred Palestinian when the Jews left him to be crucified. Never mind that crucifixion was a Roman form of execution and had little if anything to do with the Jewish scribes or most of the Jews of the time as they were all celebrating Pesach, or should we say commemorating Pesach further proven as Jesus held a Seder which became known as the Last Supper. The violence the Palestinian Arabs perpetrate against the Jews and the Christians within their areas of control are horrific when compared to the treatment worldwide by Jews and Christians have reached. The Arab Palestinians who throw rocks into car windscreens in the hopes of smashing through the glass and killing the driver or otherwise cause them to lose control of the vehicle smashing it into a building or a tree as was the case in which Asher Palmer and his infant son Yonatan both died when a rock crashed through the windshield likely killing Asher resulting in the car careening off the road smashing into large rocks and a tree killing little Yonatan Palmer. That is terrorism.

Terrorism does not need to kill directly as it can be economic in nature such as the BDS Boycott, Divest and Sanction Israel which was started by Yasser Arafat as an Arab boycott of Israel and was expanded through the instructions of Mahmoud Abbas and handled by the brother of terror mastermind Marwan Barghouti, Omar Barghouti. This form of terrorism is also extremely anti-Semitic as the sole nation singled out for this has been Israel, the sole democracy and nation with human rights and equality for all no matter their religious faith, race, gender, social class or any other item which are often used as a means of subjugating or singling out for blame in her neighbors in the Middle East and Northern Africa. The aim of the BDS is to economically starve Israel forcing her to survive solely on what she produces domestically. This is done as it is known that Israel does not produce sufficient food in either quantity or variety to feed its population. The problem is by starving Israel the boycotters will also be starving Arabs who also reside in Israel and this includes a number of Muslims. Further, the storied basis for the BDS movement is that Israel is an Apartheid State, another lie which is never refuted by the media and who repeat the claims and accusations while ignoring the truth as should they refute the claims their reporters would no longer be trusted by the Arabs and they would lose a major source of anti-Israel, anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic tropes and malapropisms with which to fill the pages of their editorial to prove their mettle and maybe win a Pulitzer Prize along the way. And the story has only just begun as Israel is not even seventy years old and has only liberated the occupied Judea and Samaria from Jordanian control in the last forty-nine years. And how is that for a surprise that the only time the lands of Judea and Samaria, which Jordan renamed West Bank to remove the obvious Jewish links to the land, especially Judea, are used in reference to these lands by Zionists speaking truth to the lies as that is where the word Jew originated as the people were referred to as Judeans and over the years Judean became simply Jew. The occupiers were the Jordanians and are now calling themselves Palestinians using the Roman renaming of Judea to Syria Palaestina in order to infuriate the Jews, well Romans, you may have passed into history and we Jews remain and your curse of the name Syria Palaestina has most certainly infuriated us and it is still a curse. The real problem is most people have little if any knowledge of history past breakfast yesterday morning, if they can remember that far back. The old proverb which has many claims but no actual known author states a truism just the same and it really applied to the way the world is headed currently. It goes, “You cannot know where you are going if you do not know where you have been.” And that is a thought on which to end this rant.

We have all heard that the European Union has caved to the pressures of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanction) lobbying groups who were originated by the Fatah Party which is the same as saying the PA (Palestinian Authority). They introduced the idea that Israel was an Apartheid nation because the Arabs under the semi-autonomous rule of the Palestinian Authority run by Mahmoud Abbas who has not run for election since assuming the top spot when Yasser Arafat died in 2004. Abbas did not run in the 2005 elections and cancelled the scheduled 2009 election claiming an emergency which would not permit elections and then claimed Israel had not allowed the Arabs under the Palestinian Authority to vote because they were Arabs. What was not reported is that they are ruled by Abbas and he has refused to hold elections because he knows he would be defeated. Israel has no control over Arab elections, or no elections, under Palestinian rule which apparently has become a dictatorship as Abbas has assumed the position of President for Life which he has convinced the world that Israel has caused by not holding elections that he had cancelled. Why did the world media and so many pick up on this story and run with it when they also knew the truth was Abbas refused to hold elections and every Arab citizen of Israel has voted in Israeli elections if they choose to vote just like every other Israeli citizen. If an Israeli citizen does not vote, it is entirely their decision and not the fault of anyone other than themselves. So, as we asked a second ago, what is the problem with the media reporting an entirely false accusation against Israel when they are completely aware that the reason these Arabs under the authority which is led by Mahmoud Abbas as there have been no elections because Abbas cancelled them and will likely cancel the next election as he desires absolute power and refuses to take any chance he might not win but he blamed Israel and that is what the media reports, but why?

 

The answer is simple, in order to be permitted to have access to the Arab areas under Mahmoud Abbas and remain completely healthy when doing so one must report what they are told and never ever cross that line and report the truth or your access will be cancelled and you will be glad your life was not cancelled, not exactly an occurrence which has no precedence. What happens when you lie about Israel such as blaming Israel for Abbas refusing to hold elections? Nothing, absolutely nothing because Israel is an open and free society while the Arab Palestinian semi-autonomous territories is a closed and dictatorial police state with a highly armed enforcement police who are ready to execute anybody at a moment’s notice for being an Israeli agent. That had many examples which the media refuses to report for the same reason as above. So the media will report the Arab Palestinian line and not even check if there is an ounce of reality and truth as they already know that almost everything they claim of blame Israel over are lies or at best exaggerations, but it is news that feeds a popular line, it’s all the Jews fault, or in the modern line, the Jewish State’s fault. There is more to this situation with many in Europe amongst the intelligentsia setting the understood line of thought that Israel is the new Jewish Problem which must be dealt with just as the Jewish Problem of World War II was handled and the only difference is this time the Arab States are the tool replacing the Nazis, only even generally more rabid in their hatred and fury with the Jews and their state of Israel.

There are a majority of nations which are completely comfortable with annulling the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 which is viewed as the establishment of Israel. This majority is a combination of the Arab States, some Muslim non-Arab states, the NAM states (non-aligned nations mostly developing nations) and a good if not majority of the European nations and with President Obama the United States could become doubtful for supporting Israel. Fortunately it is doubtful a move to eradicate Israel by United Nations Security Council Chapter Seven enforceable decree would pass without at least one of the five permanent nations; the United States, Russia, China, Great Britain, and France; using their veto to kill such a motion as it would require the use of force if Israel refused to agree to be dissolved, a likely scenario should such ever come to pass. Unfortunately, such a scenario just might be coming within the next year should Israel be challenged by Iran and allied forces currently in Syria such as Hezballah and additionally Hamas and Islamic Jihad attacked Israel using Iranian provided missiles and warheads and this is proven sufficiently that Israel decided to impart some small retribution launching from one of their submarines a cement tipped warhead on a cruise missile striking the Supreme Leader’s offices in the middle of the night thus causing minimal loss of life but departing a definite and unmistakable message. Imagine how such a scenario would be covered in the media. The Iranians would be calling an emergency meeting of every agency in the world and demanding Israeli leaders and all of Israel be erased over this unprovoked aggression by the Jewish State. There would finally be a Friday Afternoon where the masses would be yelling “Down with Israel” without the usual accompanying “Down with the United States” as Israel would have finally become the Great and Little Satan all over an attack which at most killed two people, one of which was sleeping outside the building struck. And just imagine the headlines and coverage such would get by the New York Times, the BBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, AFP, Reuters, FOX, France 2, France 24 and especially Haaretz as we would not want to leave out what President Rivlin recently declared that, “In times of Right-wing coalitions, and in times of Left-wing coalitions, Haaretz always remained in opposition, and criticized both sides when necessary. Being in the opposition is not an easy job. Most of my youth, I belonged to the opposition – to the ‘wrong’ side. Knowing that the public has chosen a different way, the opposition must work hard to convince them it has better solutions. It must reconnect with the public and still keep to its own truth. Without this effort, without a live-and-kicking opposition, our democracy is worth little. I am here today because I believe that the free market of ideas is a sacred principle.” There are many who hold doubts that Haaretz has maintained such an oppositional level with equal ardor favoring neither Right nor Left-wing governments as their very evident slant to the Port if we put it in naval terms.

 

The reality which has caused a bit of an identity crisis is that this new form of anti-Semitism is not the compliment of the older anti-Semitism which was relegated to a Right-wing; the neo-anti-Semitism is a purely Left-wing phenomenon and has a virulence which almost defies comparison. There are many of the neo-anti-Semites who claim that Hamas is correct in their actions as Israel refuses to end their occupation despite Israel removing every vestige of their existence in August of 2005 leaving only the multi-million-dollar advanced greenhouses which would have provided an entire industry up and running only to have them torn apart in order to turn the piping and other framework and provisions into rockets and explosives out of the fertilizer and launched these rockets into Israel. They ignore that Israel had no embargo blockade when they initially turned the Gaza Strip over to Mahmoud Abbas and the Arab Palestinian Authority. It was after Hamas took control in a coup that Israel found it necessary to prevent them from importing heavy weapons and other more destructive systems with which to bombard Israeli civilians in neighboring communities which were initially in jeopardy. With assistance from Iran and European monies Hamas has slowly developed the capacity to produce rockets capable of striking deeper into Israel placing Jerusalem and Haifa within striking distance of their latest rockets and who knows what will be available in the next round with Hamas. The other item ignored is the charters of both the Arab Palestinian Authority and especially those of Islamic Jihad and Hamas which both quote passages from the Quran usually utilized to express the unbridled hatred of the Jews and insists in their eradication to the last single Jew. But is this a worrisome concern of these neo-anti-Semites? No, never even a concern is placed in such knowledge as it makes little difference; all is permissible in the crusade to purge the world of the Jew in the form of the Jewish State, of Israel.

 

That is the drive behind the BDS program but that is just one piece of the tip of the spear. The rest of the spear, the mass of the spearhead behind the sharp knives which are stabbing Jews in Israel every day and have been doing so for months and apparently has become the new normal along with ramming groups of people with the car and lately evolved to include firearms as drive by shootings have joined the assaults on Jews which are not being reported in the liberal media, too Jewish to report. The story line from Gaza is even more controlled and enforced line of the story is always the same, the Jews are forcing the violence and rockets fired onto their cities. Hamas would stop firing the rockets if the Jews would just go back to where they came or just disappeared all-together. The Europeans think the Jews should leave while they can and go to Israel and the Arabs want the Jews to all go to Europe or America or Alaska, anywhere but in lands where there are Arabs. If the Arabs got the upper-hand in the Arab-Israeli conflict and made the world an offer of accepting the Jews and Christians and any other than Muslim Israelis instead of allowing Hamas to liquidate them all, does anybody honestly believe their nations would take as many Israelis as they have Syrians? Syrians are victims of a horrific war but the Jews simply lost and have to face the result of that loss, they do not rate high enough on the world’s sympathy meter to honestly give it a moment’s thought. Let Hamas and the others do as they choose, what problem is it of the world. This is understood though never spoken of in polite company as such things are too horrible to believe of our fellow mankind. Such truths must be ignored even if we in our hearts fear the truth of such as we remember the trip, the lonely and desperate trip of the St Louis and the fate which awaited her passengers because nobody, nor Cuba who had extended their open arms only to close them slamming the door of hope in the passengers of the St Louis’s faces and not the United States, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, nor any other possible nation in the entire world extended a helping hand to the passengers of the St Louis as they slowly made their way back to Nazi Germany and the Concentration Camps. Would today be any different if instead of a ship on the high seas instead it was the Ship of State of Israel which was stricken and needed a nation to which her people might embark on creating new lives or face certain death should the world turn a cold hearted refusal as they had the St Louis.

Would there be any difference in the liberal halls of Europe who already fund a multitude of NGOs whose goal is the death of the Jewish State, and whose European Union has taken its first step towards placing an embargo on all Israeli goods and services, except any great innovation which might serve them or their peoples interests such as instant messaging, most software protection systems and other innovations. The European nations which abstain rather than vote their hearts in the United Nations allowing every sort and form of denunciation to go unopposed by Europe who calm their conscience with an abstention telling themselves that was close enough as they could have supported and thus was a tacit approval and not outright. There is no difference between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism or anti-Israelism as holding Israel to its own unique set of perfection which no other nation is held or even expected of itself on its best day, but Israel must hold to perfection and any mar or mere scratch of the polishing wax that could easily be rubbed from existence is instead used to martyr Israel, used to spear her and roast her slowly over hot embers enjoying every drip of sweat and the sizzle of the fat as that is the sentence for imperfection if you are Israel, if you are the Jewish State.

 

That is the judgement of the media, especially the left leaning media but across the boards it often seems similar. So why does not Israel have its defenders? Certainly not President Francois Hollande who after the carnage in Paris, refused to include Jerusalem in the list of cities hit by terrorists making what can only be classified as one deliberate anti-Semitic choice. Well, she does have some spokespeople but they do not dictate to the media and only control the one station in most regions which is largely seen only by those who agree. Such a station is the CBN network which often defends Israel and that is applauded by many Evangelicals but they are but one group. Even the Jews are not as solidly supportive of Israel with many feeling embarrassed when the discussion comes to Israel because they know what should be expected of them but they know they will fall short as their standing in the leftist community is more important, inclusion and acceptance is more important because they will never live in Israel, maybe a couple of weeks every few years just for the sake of proving they are not anti-Semitic Jews, but never permanently as the United States is so much better. They might be surprised that for a Jew they are incorrect but to each their own. And there is another big problem, for if Jews refuse to support Israel, then who can one demand support from. This adds to the reasoning that Israel is indefensible as even her own people are against her. And that takes care of much of the media as the leftist Jews in the media bash Israel and the conservatives have such a small contribution and are not given space often enough in the major newspapers as might be hoped. There are claims the Thomas Friedman, New York Times columnist and Pulitzer Prize winning author supports Israel; with such support may we have less support and settle for honest criticism. Then there is the lost generation, the Jews who received just enough Jewish education that they might remember how to read the very Hebrew they learned to be Bar or Bat Mitzvah and some Jewish bible history which might still resonate and they know Hanukah because it comes with Christmas and they remember the High Holidays but still go to work on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and do not fast for Yom Kippur. That is the average Jew in America but fortunately the average Jew in Israel is getting more and more religious in what is called the periphery which means outside Tel Aviv and some secular areas of Jerusalem. Is there hope for Israel’s future? Yes, and it is assured with every little miracle we witness almost every day.

 

There are the little miracles which only those present or related to a person who was present know about. There are miracles such as the birth of a healthy child or any child as all life is precious and has its own reason and future to map out and their contribution for which Hashem placed them here as there are no wasted souls, just some who have gone astray and will require some therapy to come around, and that is provided in the least expected of ways. Then there are the mysterious miracles which make no sense or reason other than Hashem willed it and it came to be. As the Hamas officer of a rocket company was called on the carpet for not striking Tel Aviv, he was demanded to explain how he could miss such a large target and he replied that even when their rocket flew true towards central Tel Aviv their G0d moved it aside. I doubt his commander accepted that story, well, until he read about it in the news as it made news across Israel and was celebrated as proof of Hashem protecting Israel and we all prayed a little louder that week. The wind mentioned as redirecting the rocket out to sea would need to be more than a strong gust or even strong directed winds as rockets are designed to fly straight with only minimal effect from side winds, especially with seconds before they strike. Any wind capable to such redirection would have caused more damage and deaths than the rocket striking. The wind was as to give naysayers their logical explanation. The Hamas officer in that reported story nailed it, Hashem moved the rockets to strike harmlessly and as most of these rockets striking empty fields and vacant lots could be claimed to be just luck so it was necessary to make one spectacular redirect on at least one rocket so all would know that these rockets missing was more than just luck, they each were potentially a miracle, every-one a potential miracle.

Concentrating on half-a-million Jews and ignoring a situation of ten times the numbers which are the five-million refugees presumably all from 1948, with just a smattering from 1967, forced within Israel proper to force Israel to become an Arab state, the twenty-third Arab State, and removing the sole Jewish State conceals the reality of the situation, that the Arabs are insisting not on their own state but to have both states to become Arab states with the names of Palestine and al-Israelabi. But the reasoning behind the concern all about the “Jewish problem” while ignoring the facts that the Arabs are demanding the death of Israel, demanding to be permitted to swamp the only Jewish State with sufficient Arabs “refugees” who have never for one second been within Israeli borders, demanding the Jews accept any deal as temporary until the next temporary deal, and demanding the world assist in murdering the six-million plus Jews residing in Israel by refusing them exit when the Arabs takeover is simply because the Israelis are civilized and will talk and are willing to resolve problems in a civilized manner while the Arabs are living under a seventh century code of accept surrender and then plunder, ravage, pillage and murder the former inhabitants or change the order around and put murder the former inhabitants ahead of accept surrender and then plunder, ravage, pillage and murder the remainder of former inhabitants. Meanwhile Europe and the United States and the remainder of Western Civilization is hoping against hope that the Arabs will be sated for a period of time with having Israel sacrificed for a momentary peace except that has absolutely no possibility of working, and here is why.

 

The world needs to wake to the nightmare that is facing them. The leftists in order to rid the world of those they find distasteful from those amongst them, the ones insisting on preserving the Judeo-Christian value system, are siding with a primeval force which is tribal and fiercely demanding of those it rules that they surrender completely and totally to their societal structure which leads to destroying all else and making it all a part of their Islamic society. The difficulty with accepting such a deal will not satisfy these Islamists because their definition of Islam does not accept the convert as having made the choice freely thus not being of a pure Islamic soul and therefore they will be amongst the first sacrificed for the purity of Islam. A warning to the half a billion Muslims who think they are following Islam correctly, you have made one horrific choice as only a Sunni or Shiite can be a true and good Muslim, whichever ends up with the largest camp of believers once the world has been subjugated and all other beliefs have been eradicated. Once the entirety of Islam has been whittled to the pure Sunni or Shiite state, we will simply refer to this as Islam as it matters little which one becomes the prevalent and thus the only form of Islam practiced because this does not end the purification as there will then be those Muslims who are slightly different than the rest of the followers of Islam so they must be impure. This purification could continue until, as in Highlander, there will be only one, and we do mean only one, and thus the end of Islam, Human kind and finally a real intelligent life-form can develop and hopefully make a whole new and different set of mistakes as the most intelligent species on the planet.

 

That problem of an uncivilized force living within a civil society played out again on the streets of Israel yesterday. As of this writing an infant who suffered horrific wounds including the near loss of one of its tiny legs had gone into emergency surgery at Ein Kerem Hospital with the hopes of saving the one and a half year old’s leg through microsurgical techniques and also saving the infant’s life. Dr. Ofer Merin, head of the trauma unit at Shaare Tzedek Hospital, said “the infant aged around a year-and-a-half has a serious wound to his leg. We decided to transfer him to Hadassah Ein Kerem to save his leg in an attempt at micro-surgery treatment.” The attack which caused this dire and tragic situation was the result of yet another assault on a crowded sidewalk in Jerusalem by ramming into the crowd with a vehicle. The attack might have turned out for the worse had the vehicle not struck a fire hydrant bringing it to a stop. After ramming and destroying the hydrant, the driver emerged from the vehicle armed with a hand axe and started moving towards the injured with the obvious intent to finish off as many of the injured who could not run from him and then probably slashing at whomever they were capable of striking. Fortunately, when the driver, a twenty-one-year-old Arab terrorist from Jerusalem’s Beit Hanina neighborhood, emerged still intent on even more carnage that bystanders ended his rampage of carnage dispatching the terrorist with a few shots eliminating any further realizations of this terrorist and potentially still qualifying as a murderous intent almost qualifying as human. Below is a video of the scene soon after the incident had been dramatically brought to a close and the treatment started. There were fourteen people injured with an older woman in her sixties and the young infant the most serious amongst those injured which does include the infant’s mother being treated at the same hospital as her child, Ein Kerem Hospital. Additionally, yesterday three people received light wounds from a rock attack on their vehicle. As they related, their vehicle was assaulted by a barrage of various sized rocks as they were ambushed by a number of youths hurling rocks including some of considerable size one of which penetrated the vehicle window and is pictured below. The three injured individuals received treatment from Magen David Adom (MDA) medical teams and were taken to hospital for additional treatment. Such attacks have become a daily event with numerous such attacks each day. As many Israeli drivers whose travel takes them into areas both within and outside the Green Line where such attacks regularly occur have had the windows of their vehicles replaced with tougher and more resilient and impervious to rock attacks installed and thus have escaped such attacks with minor dents to their vehicles but with the passengers unhurt and capable of taking such attacks more in stride. This does not lessen the severity of the problem but has played to make such attacks not as newsworthy despite there not being any decrease in the number of vehicles under such attacks daily. The only such attacks which are reported are thus those with injuries of sufficient severity as to require a visit and treatment at a hospital; as if the first responders at such an attack are capable of treating people at the scene and their not requiring transport to a hospital, that by the time a reporter and cameraman can appear on the scene of a rock attack the only thing left to see is the police report which even that would require a request for information as even that report has been filed by the police. It is a sad commentary to be capable of saying such attacks which would be considered front page newsworthy in Paris or New York, London or Los Angeles, Berlin or Chicago, the Hague or Boston or even Brussels or Washington D.C. does not make the news cycle even if it were to take place in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv as without a picture there are not the thousand words to replace such and thus the story remains untold. What the world must remember that the attacks on Israelis, be they rock assaults on Israeli vehicles on her roadways, knifings with anything from a kitchen knife to a screwdriver or even including hand axes or rammings with a vehicle where the vehicle is towed away and the people treated on scene, again, no dramatic video and accompanying pictures, then no article and it is dismissed as just another such assault. The positive is by giving such attacks virtually no coverage or mention in the news beyond a blurb before going to commercial, almost a filler if necessary, just does not give the terrorist any “fame” or credit, so to speak, and thus makes the entire idea of such an attack less appealing or glamorous, and the perpetrator being eliminated without being referred to except by the most general of terms, no glamour, no fame, not even any decent notice and possibly thus no virgins in Muslim paradise, what could be worse.

Still, if anyone from the White House or State Department wishes to be front page news, all they need do is one more time condemn Israel for building homes for Jews on land which is liberated Israeli lands taken in an offensive war in 1948-9 by the seven Arab nation’s armies in an attempt to drive the Jews into the sea and annihilate them. The so-called “West Bank” is actually Judea and Samaria which were part of Israel on the morning of May 15, 1948 and the evening before when David ben Gurion pronounce Israeli independence from British rule ending the British Mandate and the next morning seven national armies swarmed over Israeli borders intent on murdering every soul they met, Arab or Israeli. The Mufti of Jerusalem, though during World War II he could have more easily been declared the Mufti of Berlin, has instructed all the Arabs living within Israel to leave and get behind the front lines of the assailing and soon to be tasting victory Arab armies. The imminent slaughter of everybody within Israel did not quite come about as planned as something unheard of until that fateful day, which means very simply, the Jews fought back and did not just wait to be slaughtered as had been the case in Europe. A new day was coming.

 

Next time you hear somebody claim it is the Jews and the settlements which are to blame for there being no peace settlement; please correct their uninformed opinion with some reality. The Arabs could have had half of all the land but they would not settle for anything less than all of the lands and the better half at that. While Jordan held the “West Bank” they could have had their state but they formed the PLO in order to use terrorism to take all the lands. Anytime since the 1967 Six Day War Israel would have traded the “West Bank” all of Judea and Samaria back to Jordan for peace. When Jordan, after Sadat and Egypt boldly went where no Arab had gone before and made peace with the Jewish State (he paid for this brave and fateful move with his life as members of a reviewing troop broke ranks and assaulted the stands and slaughtered him for making peace) Jordan made peace and forfeited Judea and Samaria which Jordan had occupied since 1948-9 up until the lands were liberated in the Six Day War. A few years later the Jordanian monarch bent to pressures from the Muslim Brotherhood and the eighty percent of Jordanian population which also call themselves Palestinians, and forfeited the Jordanian claim (the same claim forfeited to Israel at the peace talks) to the PLO such that their struggle would now be treated as a struggle for their homelands and not just wanton terrorism when they murdered families having lunch at Sbarro Pizza Parlor or a Passover Seder for Holocaust Survivors and their families in the Park Hotel in Netanya, a northern suburb of Tel Aviv which were both blown to pieces by bombs in terror attacks which are taught in Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas schools as brave acts of martyrs to be honored and emulated. Please read these last links as they will open a new vision into these acts and their places in the two different societies, one barbarous in nature the other the civilized one who is blamed as that is the safer target.

 

When you hear anybody claim that Israel is the impediment to peace, please tell them we would give back the presumed desired lands except the Arabs want all of the lands and have refused numerous offers including one granted only because President Clinton claimed that Yasser Arafat had agreed to the terms thus Ehud Barak agreed to those same exact terms and Arafat stalked from the next morning’s meeting rejecting the very offer he made the night before without even a counter and within six weeks began the second intifada which claimed over a thousand Israeli lives and is what led to the construction of the wall and fence which ended the stream of suicide bombings as it took going through a checkpoint to enter Israel thus no more bombings. Ever since that went into effect the PA has pressed the United States Presidents to demand Israel open the passage into Israel and remove the racist checkpoints as they are demeaning. I have to go through a checkpoint to take a train, a checkpoint to enter a mall, a checkpoint to watch the Purim Parade in my town, a checkpoint to listen to candidates speak, a checkpoint to enter the municipal building to pay my water bill, a checkpoint to enter the post office where many other transactions other than packages and stamps take place, a checkpoint to enter the department store downtown and a checkpoint to visit my father in the hotel when he visits. Israelis have to go through checkpoints because of Palestinian terror attacks because one can never be too careful. Just to put this into perspective, with the entirety of Israeli public on alert and all who are licensed for weapons carry taking their firearm with them as added safety for all; the totals for the past three Jewish calendar months, that is exactly one-hundred-eighty days (three thirty-day months) are twenty-two dead, two-hundred-fifty-two injured which does not count for the numbers of people suffering from rock assaults whose cars were damaged but the passengers were unharmed and often these are unreported, and unsuccessful stabbing attacks where the terrorist was unsuccessful and upon meeting determined or armed opposition fled and thus going unreported, yet in each such case there is still the mental strains and stresses unimaginable by those never facing combat or similar situations and may they continue to be spared such horrors.

 

Tell them that just because the media does not cover the terror and violence launched and perpetrated upon Israelis, all Israelis including Arabs, Muslims, Christians, Bahá’í, Buddhists and of course Jews has not abated, it has simply returned to the whatever is the latest ‘norm,’ that is all. Currently that is as many as three stabbings per day, up to three cars used as an assault vehicle rammed into bus stops and other such gathering places, as many as seven rockets out of Gaza each month, and various other inconveniences perpetrated on Israelis dressed too Jewish such as spitting, slamming shoulder as passing, curses, tripping and other insults and degradations as what would be considered a major incident if it were to happen to a Muslim in almost any European or other western nation and the entire world would cease rotating until the dog who perpetrated such an insult was brought to shame, such being perpetrated on predominately Jews in Israel (or most of the rest of the world) is nothing to get excited about as it is no big deal. The only reason the last Gaza War did not produce thousands of dead Israelis was the Iran Dome and its over ninety percent interception rate. Even then there would have been thousands potentially killed in one single attack except for the hand of Hashem, praised be, as the Iron dome had missed three times and it was a puff of the wind between total calms which pushed the rocket into the sea instead of striking the central business center of Tel Aviv where likely thousands would have died and at least one if not as many as five towering skyscrapers could have been felled causing untold carnage. Israel is not an impediment to peace and had been an impediment to an outright military attack by Islam on Europe, but that is no longer a worry as Europe invited the invasion in upon itself and that is beyond Israeli abilities as wonderful as they are. One cannot save those not wishing to be saved, but at least let those who choose sanity to retain that sanity and do not impose your insanity upon them. If Europe desires fifty-million Islamic “refugees,” we will not prevent them taking all that they desire; we just desire to miss out on that deal which only leaves more for Europe to take, a mere drop in the bucket as the tap in Europe for Islamic immigration unchecked and without any restrictions, just walk right in.
