As elections approach there will be party primaries followed later by the general elections. How we vote in each level of the election cycle may surprisingly be a parallel to Psalm 26:2 and the different translations from the original to the modern day. The modern translation states something along the lines, while retained the flavor to the original and having the essential difference, “Lord, try me and test me; look closely into my heart and mind.” The original translation stated, “Lord, try me and test me; look closely into my heart and kidneys.” How this relates to voting in primaries and general elections and which goes with which, well read on.

There is always the temptation to vote with our hearts which very few are capable of avoiding without, according to most modern thinking, the discipline of our minds. Ancient Jewish teaching may teach a different lesson which might also have its place in our modern world. But first how can we differentiate how to choose our votes between primary elections and our votes in general election. Let us first assume that we are choosing a righteous manner for our votes and not some cynical use where we attempt to damage a party we would never give even a thought of supporting in the general election, as none amongst us would ever choose such a deceitful path. There is a basic difference between primary elections and general elections. A primary election is where as a voter we are free to vote for anybody we desire as it is supposedly a measure of our most honest desire, especially in a parliamentary election where our choices will determine the order of the party card which it will present listing its representatives for office and if those you choose make it high enough on the list, then you get your own little piece of representation in the government. In the general elections you are not really voting for a person as much the party which you feel will serve you and the nation the best. Of course if you are fortunate to have any of the people you voted for in the primary elections head the Party ticket, then if your party is tapped to form a ruling coalition and they succeed, then your primary choice will likely be the Prime Minister and you get to feel vindicated, otherwise we must simply feel satisfied if we are able to get any of those we voted for in the primary elections seated in the government after the elections.

The primary elections is the place for voting purity where you listen to your heart and then refine your choices with the filter which is the kidneys which remove the impurities and assures that the blood carries sufficient red blood cells transporting oxygen to the body, assures that chemical and mineral concentrations are within the proper limits and are the organ which receives approximately twenty percent of the blood pumped by the heart from each beat. Thus using the heart and the kidneys we take our desires and refine them such that they perform the best in producing results which reflect the honest desires of the combination of everyone’s individual preferences in composing the tickets presented before the general electorate. Further, in most primary elections in a parliamentary system many parties allow for each ballot to contain more than one selection to be tallied and each party has their own manner for tallying the ballots cast. In some you receive a ballot with a set of positions for each member of the party to place the names of their preferred candidates’ names. Then the votes are counted and, where appropriate given weight depending on position if appropriate, and the tallies then decide the position on the party’s slate each candidate will be placed. If their party receives as many or more mandates than their position on the slate, then they will be placed in the government and if their position is beyond the number of positions, then they go home instead.

There are those parties where they have an established slate of members which stand and their primaries are scheduled independently from any election cycle but are held at set intervals. These parties thus do not hold primaries simply because a government has been dissolved but simply hold elections periodically and this can lead to them placing the same slate before the voters with the same leader at the head of the ticket thus allowing for the exact same presentation on the party’s slate to stand for more than a single election if the elections are held prematurely before the end of their scheduled term such as the elections currently being faced in Israel. Parties can also decide on new slates for each election having them chosen by a select committee which could be decided by ballot, decided by executive selecting committee or by any system which the elites of the party might choose as long as the rank and file members agreed to such a method for choosing the ballot and the steering committee no matter how unfair such systems may appear to outsiders. When the elections approach all parties slates are revealed to the public and then the elections are held and the people vote.

During the general elections we have only a single vote which we will most likely give to the Party we prefer or to the party whose person heading the party slate we most desire to be the Prime Minister. Whichever party is amongst the top vote recipients and with the greatest probability of forming a viable coalition, that party and candidate for Prime Minister is tapped to try and form a ruling coalition and if they succeed, then a government is formed, and if they fail then the next most likely candidate for Prime Minister and their party are given their opportunity. Should nobody be capable of forming a coalition, then new elections will be forced to be held and the entire cycle is repeated. When we vote in the general election, we are still given an initial impetus to vote in a particular manner by our hearts which is tempered by the logic and other mindful considerations from our minds, which places the deciding voices of the public before the separate parties of combined tickets such as the one be being formed by the Labor Party and Tzipi Livni and her party. What makes this a heart driven decision is that Labor stands to gain the equivalent of possibly as many as four seats but if predictions are accurate the presence of Tzipi Livni and her party will only produce at best three and most likely two additional seats. The Labor Party is likely to grant Ms. Livni as many as four or potentially five seats depending on the total number of mandates received by the combined blocks. This will mean that Labor will likely receive less additional seats than the number of slots they will be giving to Tzipi Livni and those in the leadership of her party. This will probably prove to be a great deal for Livni and not so much for Minister Hertzog and the Labor Party. Since there may be other parties reaching agreements where they combine tickets or agree to either both be included in any government or neither be included such as was done in the last election with Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett making an agreement that either both parties or neither party would enter the government forcing Prime Minister Netanyahu to agree to include both parties in order to reach a coalition and may have been part of why the coalition failed prematurely. The different potential combinations and the fact that our usually favored party might decide to team up with another party with which we have a high degree of revulsion would make our support for our usual party problematic. This is why our vote in the general election requires more than just the heart, but the kidneys purifying the decisions of the heart is not likely to be helpful in choosing when the parties make agreements with those we refuse to give our vote to under any normative situations, thus instead of the purifying kidneys we substitute our minds to massage and shape the feelings of our hearts. By using our minds to shape and adjust the dictations of our hearts we might find we are capable of voting for our usual preferred party despite their compromising their purity and positions combining with some we do not honestly desire to prefer and reward with our votes. Thus in the general election we still initially choose with our hearts but use our minds to determine if our party will remain sufficiently pure no matter those they share power with in order to maximize their representation in the government after the elections. Thus we temper our hearts with the logic and power of our minds in the general election contrasting the purifying our primary selections of our hearts by filtering all with our kidneys and that is the major difference between the primary voting and our general election casting of ballots. So, which translation of Psalm 26:2 do you believe best represents your own election thinking for the primaries and the general elections and for what reasons?

The Ominous Clouds on the Israeli Horizon

The world is once again being sold the big lie that the Israelis are not suffering any stressing anxieties or worrying doubts as the Iron Dome has mostly intercepted the rockets which were most likely to strike populated areas and ignored those which were heading to fall harmlessly, or at least as harmlessly as any large explosive device can strike within earshot of where one is standing. The reality is over eighty percent of Israelis are currently living in the areas where every explosion, be it a rocket striking the middle of a field or the Iron Dome anti-missile missile striking its intercept target overhead, is a nerve wracking jolt reminding them that the next one might be headed for their home, office, child’s school or the very same target of a relative or friend and if it is that one the Iron Dome computers compute errantly is headed harmlessly and therefore no intercept is launched or the intercept misses its mark, and then something unthinkably horrid can potentially happen. Yesterday the article was an attempt to paint a picture of what Israelis are experiencing even doing something as mundane as listening to news and talk radio or your favorite music station and having the Code Red warnings superimposed over the music, conversation or news broadcast repeatedly seemingly every ten to twenty minutes. Most of the time the places listed are not where you currently are listening and other times you immediately drop whatever you are doing and the only thought as you run as best you are able is, did I get the full number of seconds to reach the shelter or was this one of the late detections and I have half as much time. Oh G0d I hope I can run fast enough, praying possibly faster than I ever have before.

Even when the place facing the threat is not your location, as is the case for many Israelis, you have a mental list you check off with every Code Red announcement placing the names of friends, family or friends and family of family and friends who you realize are now running for their lives and you pray for hearing that follow-up report as to whether it was an intercepted rocket or one which fell harmlessly and there was nobody injured or killed. When a rocket does strike a populated area and the news reports that there was only damage to a structure or a house was destroyed but the family had made it to their nearest shelter and no lives were lost or anybody seriously injured, you breathe a sigh of relief remembering that things can be replaced, rebuilt, or made right but people cannot be replaced. In Israel we take every individual fatality as if it were a close member of our own family because we think and feel like every Israeli is a member of our family as in many ways that is true. This feeling was made evident this past week when at the funerals for two lone soldiers, soldiers who made Aliyah and returned home to Israel without their parents or other family members with the full intention of joining the IDF, as they were of the age where Israeli men and women perform compulsory military or volunteer service, despite they’re not being required to do so until they gain full citizenship. Despite being in Israel without their family and having few other connections they only had thirty-thousand Israelis attending their funerals shedding tears and saying mourner’s Kaddish. Further, the Israeli government made arrangements to fly both of these young hero’s families to Israel within twenty-four hours of their sons’ deaths. Every funeral resulting from this war which was inflicted upon Israel and every Israeli had also been a testament of the depth and breadth of the love and care of a shared people be it a fallen soldier or one of the fallen civilians. People attend the funeral of a fallen Israel even if the only attachment previously had was they were from your town or the next town over and that makes it near enough to take personally. Some will travel the majority of the day just to be represented and thank those whose death was a result of protecting the land and its people, the people of which they are a member.

But there are other worries which we face which we have even less ability to control or influence and despite our being powerless to influence these, they play heavily on our minds. For many of us the most pressing of these is a result of the unprecedented and obvious political threat which was launched by President Obama when the Federal Aviation Administration suspended all United States flights, both passenger and cargo, sending the message to Prime Minister Netanyahu, every member of the Knesset and likely inadvertently every Israeli citizen that at the merest suggestion the United States government has the power and influence to economically stifle Israel and destroy her economically and bring Israel to her knees and force compliance. This was timed to coincide with the arrival of Secretary of State Kerry on his uninvited mission to force a cessation of the fighting before Israel can further destroy the tunneling infrastructure and military capabilities of Hamas, the representative of the Muslim Brotherhood in the war against Israel and the Jews. Further, Hamas must remain militarily viable if the Muslim Brotherhood is ever going to have a chance to return Morsi to what President Obama has claimed is his elected and rightful place as President of Egypt. This is part of the Middle East strategy which has driven the United States, Qatar and Turkey together and likely to have replaced Mahmoud Abbas as President Obama’s number one favorite friend, as he was on Inauguration Day in January 2009 when the newly sworn in President Obama made Chairman Abbas the first international politician he called from the Oval Office, and moved Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan into the number one BFF of the American President. The doubt this raises is what will the reaction of the Obama Administration be when Israel needs resupply of military supplies. Will the Israeli request be met with another isolating flight ban followed by President Obama woefully whining that his hands are tied and there is nothing he can do until the flight ban is lifted. Never mind that such a ban cannot be enacted placing an entire nation and an ally into isolation by banning all air flights to or from the country without Presidential approval, or more aptly, Presidential initiation of the entire idea.

Should such a step be in Israel’s future one might be pressed to ask, what else could go wrong? That is where everything would get very complicated and difficult for Israel as in such a situation it would be hard to believe that Iran would be able to pass up a golden opportunity to strike Israel when she is in a weakened and compromised position being cut off by her supposedly best friend and ally and military backer since the deal with the devil was first wrought to stop the development of the Lavi, the Israeli fourth generation jet fighter which would have been a direct competitor to the American F-16 in the world’s strongly contested market of military hardware. The trade made by Israel where she dropped any further development of jet fighters and agreed to be supplied by the United States with F-16s, F-15s and virtually everything militarily concerned including rounds for Israeli military firearms, rounds for the Merkava tanks, aircraft and their armaments and far more. A military embargo inflicted on Israel by the United States, which is what such a move would result in, would make Israel extremely vulnerable, especially should a second front be opened by Iran by having Hezballah strike out of Lebanon out of the Israeli northern border. This would not be all that impossible to visualize, it has already occurred. The year after Hamas took control over Gaza in a coup, Israel entered Gaza in an operation called “Summer Rains” on June 28, 2006, responding to Hamas’s abduction of Corporal Gilad Shalit. Close on the heels of the start of the conflict with Hamas in Gaza, Hezballah opened a second front attacking Israel’s northern towns with rockets setting up an assault with an anti-tank weapon on an Israeli armored Humvees patrolling the border killing three soldiers and abducting two soldiers. What followed was the Second Lebanon War and Israel fighting wars on two fronts. The same situation is one possibility which would only be furthered should Israel not be resupplied and appear to be in a weakened and vulnerable situation.

A two front war would place Israeli towns, cities, kibbutzim and Israelis on remotely situated farms in mortal jeopardy. Should rockets be launched at Israel from two fronts, it would place a strain on the abilities of the vaunted Iron Dome systems. Places currently defended by a single Iron Dome would require at least two systems as threats would be launched from two separate and opposite directions. This would force the Israeli government and military to pick and choose which places would continue to be protected and which would be left completely at the mercy of fortune and in the hands of G0d. To protect as many citizens as possible there would be a necessity to offer relocation to safer areas to those Israelis living in places no longer covered as completely by the Iron Dome systems. The potential for such a scenario should frighten any sane and reasonably intelligent person as Israel would be under threat in a weakened position which can be best related in the natural world to an injured animal with young to protect. This is simply a geopolitical situation to be utilized and played for maximum favorable outcomes where nations could take the vulnerable situation, even of a presumed ally, to dangerous levels. Israel would be the victim of such a power play and end up facing a dire situation with her entire existence threatened. There is one saving grace in this situation, and it came into existence as a result of this exact scenario which played out in Yom Kippur War in October 1973. President Nixon acted under the suggestion of his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger who advised that the United States initially deny Israel rearmament as agreed in order to make Prime Minister Golda Meir and the Israelis realize their vulnerability and influence them to a more plaint and agreeable state. This maneuver almost backfired as with Israeli forces being apparently overrun on two fronts, Egyptian and Syrian, appeared to enact what has been theorized as the Israeli final option and Prime Minister Golda Meir ordered the lids to the nuclear missile silos to be opened. This was almost immediately detected by the United States spy satellites and provided the necessary impetus for President Nixon to immediately provide all of the military aid Israel required. In the aftermath of this conflict there was an agreement between Israel and the United States whereby a complete resupply which might be necessary to equip an entire United States deployment in the Middle East such that they could be deployed in what is referred to as a light deployment and simply be armed upon arrival was placed within Israel in cold storage. This entire supply was also intended to be an initial resupply for the IDF to cover the interim period before resupply can arrive from the United States. What is even more advantageous is that the Israelis are permitted by the agreement to utilize should the need be realized. Still this military depository would not be sufficient to last the entirety of a prolonged conflict, especially one on two fronts. The one other ramification of such a scenario would be the inevitable accusations that the Israelis were sacrificing protection for Arab neighborhoods in favor of Jewish neighborhoods.

There is one last ramification which is still to materialize from the current conflict with Hamas which will arrive from various directions and sources. These will be the inevitable attempts to bring Israeli political and military leadership and possibly individual soldiers before courts on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity. There will be no similar tribunals arraigning any of the Hamas leadership, only Israelis are considered to have committed such crimes similarly to the concept that only Palestinians are suffering from the conflict while the Israelis are partying in the streets and facing absolutely no threats or danger. This has been a situation which has been prevalent in ever increasing frequency where Israeli leadership, both military and political, are arraigned on charges whenever they travel outside of Israel. This was recently on display when Israeli Minister of Justice was invited to Britain for some innocent sounding reason but actually it was arranged so that she could meet with Secretary of State Kerry and Chairman Abbas despite having been cautioned not to meet Abbas by the Prime Minister. The British found it necessary to guarantee Ms. Livni complete immunity as they felt assured that the pro-Palestinian groups would seek a friendly judge to swear out a warrant on charges of having been a party in war crimes and crimes against humanity simply for serving as a Foreign Minister during “Operation Cast Lead” against Hamas in late 2008 through early 2009. Similar events have restricted Israeli officials from attending courses, lectures, events of numerous venues or even take a vacation. This situation exists almost exclusively in European nations who have chosen to take upon themselves the authority to adjudicate war crimes, crimes against humanity and similarly related criminal offensives.

The future in Israel is, as usual, in a state of flux and uncertainty as there are many forces doing everything possible to force a ceasefire as immediately as their efforts can accomplish seemingly in order to preserve as much of Hamas’s resources and war fighting capabilities from the Israeli efforts to destroy those very same capabilities. The world reaction to Israeli efforts to eliminate as much of the Hamas ability to commit terrorist acts and make war against Israel or also assist the forces of the Muslim Brotherhood in their struggle to resume their rule in Egypt through the reinstatement of Morsi as President has been less than morally exemplary. As preposterous as such may seem, one might consider such more plausible when they keep in mind that there are efforts to supply the rebels in Syria which will knowingly be likely to provide arms and other provisions for the al-Nusa Front and even ISIS. If Western governments are willing to arm the likes of former and present al-Qaeda affiliates, then why would they shy from doing similar for Hamas as they are allied with the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood, a seeming ally and similarly aligned pair of terror organizations if ever there were such. Geopolitical relations are quite often best revealed during times of conflict and warfare through the actions or inactions, support or denial of assistance, alliance or opposition, all forms of aid being granted or frozen, and even such items as continuation or disruption of commercial and passenger flights into and out of a particular area. That is why the recent disruption of air transport in and out of Israel was so telling as during the same period there was no such interruption of flights to and from Syria, Iraq or the Ukraine. Telling, very telling, revealing and of great interest. Any reply from President Obama of questions into the reasons for that suspension would be quite intriguing but is something we will only be able to postulate about as no such questioning will ever be put to the President by the mainstream media. As stated as an answer to a Chinese curse, “Yes, we indeed do live in strange and interesting times.”

Stop Telling Us We Cannot Pay the Price

There is a multi-front assault against the Israeli operation Defensive Shield predominantly by the administration of United States President Barack Obama which is being fully supported by the European Union and the majority of European governments and the United Nations with a large supportive roll being gleefully executed by United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay and her organization, sent to occupy the front lines and press Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government to make the concessions demanded by Hamas just so the Israeli military actions in Gaza can be brought to an end and peace and quiet be restored to the areas and residents of Gaza. There are no demands for Hamas in Gaza to stop their attempts to infiltrate Israel through their remaining tunnels yet to be located and destroyed in order to execute mass assault of the Israeli communities the tunnels are designed to reach and attempt to kill large numbers and abduct others to hold as they did with IDF soldier Gilad Shalit pressing to trade them for the release of terrorists from Israeli prisons. These efforts are being further supported by the world’s mainstream media new sources which have stressed the numbers of Gazan casualties intimating that virtually every Gazan casualty was an innocent civilian noncombatant while stressing each and every IDF casualty interviewing those close to the soldier and others until they have sufficient Israelis they can quote claiming that Israel must cease all military actions as they have no hope to accomplish anything further and any additional casualties will all be in vain. Then there is the economic assault being perpetrated by the United States Federal Aviation Administration, a government agency which controls the entirety of the United States air carriers’ fleets, who suspended all American flights into Israel and Ben Gurion International Airport which was copied by the European airlines. Such a suspension will do far more than prevent tourism or travel plans by business people into or out of Israel by restricting the numbers of flights available because these actions has resulted in grossly restricting available flights. This ban also prevents any commercial shipments using United States or European air carriers such as Fed Ex, UPS, DHL and numerous other air freight carriers which will completely stifle and smother access to international trade by Israeli companies. Yet, almost within hours of the FAA ban on air travel into or out of Israel, Secretary of State John Kerry flew straight from Cairo into Ben Gurion International Airport in complete defiance of his own government’s ban, imagine that. Just to add to the dangerous activity engaged by Secretary of State John Kerry, he flew in on a standard executive version of a Boeing 757 airliner, not a military aircraft with defensive capabilities not found on standard airliners; it was just a nicely appointed 757 with really nice seats, and office, a bedroom and other niceties but no additional military capabilities.

The International press is also pressing every single defeatist quote they can find in their numerous interviews even if they had to ask leading questions in order to find the quote they desired. They exaggerate the demands that Israel must pull all IDF soldiers out of Gaza and deploy them within Israel and have them provide defensive functions as there will be no gains from their continued deployments within Gaza. There have been reports which make the claim that all of the Hamas tunnels have been located and destroyed. Such reports have appeared every day in one mainstream media report or another for the past week and will likely continue to appear until they can claim they got it correct. The fact that the IDF has found additional tunnels every single day and possibly every couple of hours has not dulled the mainstream media’s insatiable desire to continue the lie that there is nothing else left for the IDF to accomplish so they may as well be brought back to safety as any additional deaths will be unproductive. The overriding story is a constant beating of the further IDF operations inside Gaza against Hamas are endangering lives needlessly drums to deafening levels. That is why every mention of the death toll in Gaza makes no reference to the numbers of dead who are Hamas combatants and the mainstream media simply implies that every death is a civilian death. There is a tactic which is known well by the members of the mainstream media used by Hamas as well as numerous other terrorist entities almost in coordination with the media who accommodate this deceit by waiting for approval to photograph an area after a strike until the terrorist leadership in the area grants them their approval. The delay is used in order to transform the Hamas combatants into innocent civilians by a complex series of steps, they first remove any weapons from the dead combatant and remove any ammunition and grenades and remove rocket launchers from the area as well as anything else which might denote the corpse as belonging to a Hamas member and then presto-chango, instant civilian casualty. Israel has confirmed that at the very least they have killed approaching, if not surpassed, three-hundred Hamas and Islamic Jihad combatants but the media would never take IDF assurances as worth any credibility though Hamas press releases are sworn by as being from unimpeachable sources of the highest quality.

The next few days will have coverage of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and United States Secretary of State John Kerry releasing sound bites to the media about their hopes and beliefs that the Israelis will soon heed the calls from the world to end the needless carnage in Gaza and quiet may soon be reestablished in Gaza. There will likely be little commentary whether or not there will be quiet in Israel or if the rockets will continue to rain on civilian areas within Israel. Hamas has made it more than obvious that they will never accept any Egyptian brokered peace initiative and their obstinacy has been strongly reinforced by having meetings between United Nations and United States personnel with representatives of the governments of Turkey and Qatar and initiated further coordination in efforts to forge an initiative which might be more presentable and acceptable to Hamas. When one considers the statements made in recent days as well as over the past years by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan denouncing and demonizing Israel and insulting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as well as other Israeli officials including Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and even Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, it is not surprising that the Turkish leadership would be completely supportive of Hamas. Their unrivaled support for Hamas is in complete agreement with their disintegrating relations with Egypt since the removal of the Muslim Brotherhood supported President Morsi and his replacement with former Egyptian Military Head General Sisi. Prime Minister Erdogan’s support for Sunni Islamist extremist militant groups even extends to his open support for ISIS. Also, Qatar has been Hamas’s most prolific and generous financial backer since their falling out with Iran over Hamas supporting the Sunni rebels against Syrian leader Bashir al-Assad. It was a twenty-million dollar donation from Qatar which United Nations Middle East Envoy Robert Serry attempted to have transferred to Hamas during the search for the three Hamas abducted Israeli teens where he first requesting that Mahmoud Abbas handle the transactions and after being refused approached Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to make the transfer. This led to Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman to demand his eviction. Why the United States and United Nations are both rebuking the Egyptian efforts to mediate a ceasefire and instead seeking to facilitate either a Turkish or Qatari mediation escapes credulity unless one is to believe that both entities desire to place Israel in the worst and most compromised position possible and are seeking as pro-Hamas an agreement as can be presented to give their full backing and force upon Prime Minister Netanyahu. This also makes the actions by the FAA to suspend flights appear more as a shot across Israel’s bow than a necessary actions for the protection of the airlines. If the airlines believed there exists a serious and present danger to their aircraft, pilots, passengers and other personnel, they would not wait for any memo or announcement from the FAA, they would cancel the flights on their own volition. The only reason that an FAA order was issued was because the airline companies probably refused an advisory notice that continuing flights into Ben Gurion International Airport was no longer safe and should be suspended and that forced the administration’s hand and the ban was then issued taking the decision out of the airline company official’s hands. Just a point of information, Ben Gurion has an Iron Dome battery placed specifically to protect it from any missile attacks and the closest any Hamas rocket has struck was over a mile from the airport presenting no danger to approaching or leaving flights but did destroy an Israeli family’s home. This was the validating reason the FAA gave that flights to and from Israel were unsafe. Proof this move was an economic threat was the additional demand that the airline companies remove all their aircraft from Ben Gurion International Airport and fly them elsewhere devoid of passengers or cargos. This will cause the restitution of flights to take at least one additional day as the aircraft will need to be restationed inside Israel.

Between the media going to great lengths to write up the story that Israelis are tired of the death and destruction and that the deaths of soldiers are mounting to heights that have sapped the will of a nation to continue the fight are false and a disgusting attempt to poison the waters. The dispatch of Secretary of State Kerry when neither side requested his assistance is another affront which signifies that President Obama believes that this just might be the conflict where he can appear Presidential and win a victory even if it is at the cost of Israel’s future and the possibility for Israel to clean out the rats nest which is Gaza. There has been an eerie silence about the disposition of the rockets found stored at two separate United Nations Relief Workers Agency (UNRWA) schools which UNRWA officials arranged to have them removed by Hamas refusing Israeli requests simply for photographs as proof of the find. There has been no explanation why the request by a member state of the United Nations, Israel, was refused yet a recognized terrorist group even by the United Nations standards was given these rockets which were illegally stored in a United Nations facility. The world media and governments simply accepted such as business as usual. It is the accumulation of so many things as business as usual and virtually all of such events favoring Hamas over Israel which leads to suspicions that perhaps it really is Hamas with the cooperation, support, backing and blessings of the world governments and agencies against Israel. Yes, President Barack Obama has stated that the United States stands behind Israel in her right to defend themselves, but he also promised that the Americans under his healthcare initiative would save two-thousand-five-hundred dollars, be able to keep their own doctor if they liked them, keep their health insurance plan if they desired, and that after every scandal just read or heard it when everybody else did on the news, so somehow I will take his actions to speak louder than his words. His reliance on Turkey and Qatar, two nations supporting Hamas and antagonistic to Israel as proof of where his intentions and emotions lie. The backing of such by the United Nations and European Union do not make such decisions any more palatable. Israel needs to decide exactly what it is they require and feel is necessitated and then work towards that end regardless of whether or not Europe or the United States desire different. Let the news stories and the full court press by those less interested in the lives and future of Israelis and their country than they are with the survivability of Hamas and Islamic Jihad scream, pound their fists, stomp their feet and call Israel whatever names that intimate her being an out of control obsessive aggressive nation and yell it from the highest mountains and have it plastered across page one of media outlets the world across including even in Israel with thanks to Haaretz. We know what is necessary and what must be accomplished in order to make our little sliver of land safe and allow many of the children who have spent much of their lives living in fear and not playing outside without one eye on the closest shelter finally only have to worry about the weather and the rain falling onto their little heads be soft water and not steeled projectiles. Perhaps this is a little harsh, but perhaps Israel should send Secretaries Kerry and Ki-Moon back to their offices in the United States and tell them that this time, we will call them and do not call on us before then, thank you. This time the Hamas rockets are able to threaten and strike virtually every inch of Israel and if there were to be another time these rockets would become larger guided missiles with who knows what capabilities including chemical agent delivery which is the reason there cannot be a next time. This is a war for the life of Israel and we must fight it as such and everybody else may scream themselves hoarse, we are not listening and frankly only care about securing our future. Were your nation under the same threats you would act exactly as we must now act, so do not bother to condemn Israel for choosing life, we meant Never Again and continue to mean Never Again.
