Israeli Abuse of Power in a Purely Political Detention

Meir Ettinger is a political prisoner of the State of Israel. Much of his administrative detention has been spent in either actual or near solitary confinement. It has been solely through Meir Ettinger’s faith in Hashem and strong will that has prevented his going stir crazy from his ordeal. What, pray tell, is Meir Ettinger’s crime? No crime has been attributed to him and he has already been completely cleared from having any part in the Duma case which is another kettle of fish that smells about six weeks old. Meir Ettinger has not been charged with any crime yet he has undergone extensive and abusive interrogations. The presumed threat he poses is that he desires that the Israeli government be a Biblical government with a King, not him as King, and the rebuilding of the Temple and the reestablishment of the tribal lands and priesthood. I can hear some now wondering what might be wrong with dreams and we would say exactly except Meir Ettinger is the grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahane and that makes his visions dangerous. That is the position of the government who feel that this young man’s dreams for his nation to return to its biblical root automatically, because of his bloodline, a threat to their power and offices. Should I hold such desires, one must wonder if I too would find myself locked away from the world in administrative detention indefinitely.

Recently the detention of Meir Ettinger was requesting a reprieve long enough to go and attend the Brit Milah for his newborn son after spending the majority of his wife’s pregnancy in confinement unable to be with her through the miracles of life nor was he permitted to be present at his son’s birth. The Brit Milah is a very important moment in a newborn male’s life as this is his accepting of the covenant with Hashem as was the promise made with Abraham. But the secular Supreme Court which remains appointed by a small cabal of leftist jurists year after year as the manner for the selection of judges by the Judicial Selection Committee which consists of Justice Minister who is the Chairman; Cabinet Minister, chosen by the Cabinet; Two Knesset Members, chosen by the Knesset, since 1992 they usually appoint one member from the coalition and one from the opposition; two members of the Bar Association, usually selected by the two largest factions in the bureau; the Chief Justice, and two other judges of the Supreme Court who are replaced every three years by the panel of judges, the selection is usually by seniority. As these organization and at least one Knesset Minister and likely two if not all three members of the court which in most instances places often six but almost always five liberal to extreme leftists appointing new justices. In rare occasions a judge is chosen and they are then found to have been a closet conservative who believes in strict application of the law and not administrating laws from the court, a common practice of late along with choosing to nullify laws without any challenger calling for a review which was presumably beyond the courts power, but power is what you can get away with more often than what is written. This liberal body of Judges decided that Meir Ettinger and his thoughts are so dangerous that there could not be sufficient security set up so as to assure he would not taint the minds of anybody attending the Brit Milah. They did rule with great generosity to allow the Brit Milah to be held inside the prison and allowing a maximum of fifteen guests, at least there would be a minion if two thirds of the guests were male, with each guest meeting requirements and after they passed a deep background check, which takes a month so therefore no guests and potentially the child might be determined to be a risk being the great-grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahane, already decidedly a genetically tainted family whose mere bloodline is a threat to the establishment.

The complete idiocy and spitefulness against the family of Rabbi Meir Kahane who was assassinated by a Palestinian gunman in New York City and one son and his wife murdered (pictured above with Rabbi Meir Kahane on the right at their wedding) in an ambush as they were returning home by a number of shooters lying in wait. The perpetrators were never brought to justice for the murder of an innocent couple. This administrative detention is purely out of spite and fear of a family which does not necessarily believe that all is perfect with the government. They and others believe that things should be different, but have never shown any signs of following any path for change other than through the existing system. These individuals include Meir Ettinger and friends and the many followers of the teachings of Rabbi Meir Kahane and are opposed to the current ways in Israel using methods which consist of pure hate and spite and are very unbecoming. Such a detention for thoughts should have every last Israeli up in arms against this atrocity as if it be Meir Ettinger today it could just as easily be any of us tomorrow. This act of malice needs condemnation by anybody with a heart that knows the pride and wonder of having a new child and the joys of those first months and the special moments, a Brit Milah, the naming, their first blessings and a myriad of other events which from all appearances Meir Ettinger will be denied because he dares to dream of change and of an Israel which is ruled by Torah and not men.

Could a Real Zionist Leader Please Step Forward

Yesterday the Israeli public received a surprise as Avigdor Liberman resigned as Foreign Minister and announced that his Yisrael Beytenu Party would sit in the opposition rather than sit in a centrist government which does not represent a strong right wing and nationalist governance. Whether this was a political ploy to try and gain additional positions despite Yisrael Beytenu’s less than overwhelming show in the elections or an attempt to cast himself and his Yisrael Beytenu Party as the real leader willing to stand apart, if that is what is necessary to force a real nationalist coalition with real nationalist goals and directives forming the coalition agreement; Avigdor Liberman may mean exactly what he claims or this may be a restructuring while performing a facelift for what appears to be an ailing Yisrael Beytenu Party. Whatever Avigdor Liberman may have in mind, it remains to be seen whether his prediction of an ill functioning coalition will spend much of its time plugging holes and cracks in the coalition attempting to hold a governing coalition of merely sixty-one Ministers, as slim a majority as one might ever hope to make a working ruling coalition. Avigdor Liberman has struck the heart of the problem and probably knows exactly what he is doing by pointing out that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not only not a proven nationalist but actually a reluctant nationalist. I hope Avigdor Liberman is not expecting to be awarded a Zionist achievement medallion with which he can claim to be the nationalist answer to Benyamin Netanyahu and find himself being chosen to form the next ruling coalition after the next election. But the best bet is that Avigdor Liberman is simply jostling the electorate and rattling everybody’s cage both within the coalition and in the opposition basically claiming he is willing to go it alone rather than enter a coalition which ignores or even opposes what he sees as some of the most vital of nationalist and Zionist principles which he is claiming as the core beliefs of the Yisrael Beytenu Party. Whether this move is just a ploy to gain advantage for his joining of the coalition between now and the deadline this week for forming a coalition remains for us to see.

Whatever the result of the Liberman gambit and the Netanyahu coalition cobbling, the realities are that there may not be an actual Zionist or nationalist leader whose political party is capable of garnering sufficient support to warrant being tapped to form the coalition after the next elections. That begs the question of what is the most likely alternative and how can any alternative to another Netanyahu coalition be formulated as the best possibility for those who might offer a more positive governing coalition leadership. That is where the crux of the problem lies. Prime Minister Netanyahu speaks probably one of the best Zionist and nationalist arguments one could ever imagine but when it comes to putting action to those wonderful sounding worlds it appears that Prime Minister Netanyahu has an application problem which he is unable to get past. The chance that anybody might have come by having the religious Zionists and nationalist camp combine together and promise that if given the necessary representation as a combined group that a new form of government would be installed where the Ministerial department positions would be awarded experts from industry, academia and wherever else they may be found is possibly too much to expect happen by chance. The promise is that the ministers on your party list are intending to be members of the Knesset but not be rewarded with positions for which they have little if any expertise. There would be two completely separate lists of candidates, one would contain close to or over seventy names taken from the several parties and a secondary list of proposed cabinet positions as Ministers of the Cabinet who were chosen for their expertise and not as bribes to patch together a ruling coalition. This would be a fresh new concept where the Prime Minister was not using the myriad of Ministerships which make up his cabinet as rewards for those choosing to join the coalition and instead offer a coalition of parties who have agreed upon a purely Zionist grounds to become part of a new governance where the coalition is formed purely on principles and the Ministers in the Knesset would be responsible for addressing the matters of law and regulations. A few examples might be in order, Foreign Minister could be held by Benyamin Netanyahu where he could use his special powers of persuasion; Professor Stanley Fischer would make an outstanding Minister of the Economics Portfolio as he is unrivaled in his abilities in the field of economics, a military leader such as General Ganz could be charged with Defense Minister and other similar such discerning selections could be made to fill the other Ministerships which would make up the Cabinet Ministries.

The problem with this idea is getting the members of the political class to agree to forgo their egos and simply do what would in the long run be best for Israel. I am sure that every Minister who manages to land some prestigious Cabinet Ministership would feel they are exquisitely qualified to address anything required by the position and they are so brilliant that they would not even gain by the advice of an actual expert. This has usually been most evidenced by those tasked as Minister of Finance, Minister of Defense, Minister of Public Security, Minister of Housing and Construction and we could simply go down the list until we had all of them listed for one reason or another. Part of the problem with the current system is that the separate ministers are also using the power of their particular ministerial position to gain leverage over other Ministers who also can use their ministerial powers to take revenge and in the end the Israeli public pays the price as government ends up being grossly mismanaged. If at the top of the whole government is a Prime Minister who is having difficulties threading the needle while walking a tightrope over a river swarming with crocodiles because he is attempting not to upset the leaders of the rest of the world while keeping a lid on a cabinet filled with egomaniacs all vying to undo the other’s position while ignoring their own responsibilities and still run a nation, well, that is a recipe for a disaster. The biggest problem is the lack of a positive and strongly led group which knows what the end result that is desired and they all can actually agree on that desired result. Such leadership has to be resolute and determined and must be sufficiently sure of their position thus capable of taking command of any situation and continue to move towards that goal while solving every problem actually of any consequence along the way. The problem is there has been no such leader who has come forward and declared such a vision and painted a picture for the Israeli people to also see that vision and be supportive, or at least fifty-five percent voting public behind this vision.

There was such a vision and slogan that could have made that difference when Naftali Bennett hit on the no apology for desires to keep that which belongs to Israel according to International Law. He was on target with this idea and could have built upon this base structure by giving the explanation why we no longer need to say we are sorry for living on our own homeland and we have had enough with the demands for the dividing of our lands, of our Jerusalem, of all that is ours forevermore. But then Naftali Bennett made a cardinal error even if he believed that which he stated when he stated that he was not yet ready to be Prime Minister. Mr. Bennett, let me let you in on a little secret, nobody who is honest with themselves is ever ready to be Prime Minister but that does not mean that they should come out and say so. Once you lost faith in your ability to lead, on that moment your entire no apology campaign apologized and died. The really sorry thing is that honestly we the people of Israel should never forgive you for stealing out opportunity to follow an idea whose time had come and had a vibrant and energetic leader saying what we needed and wanted to hear and then he balked and stole from us our opportunity. Naftali, if I may be so casual, it was not your place to decide if you were ready to be Prime Minister; that decision belonged to us, the Israeli public. If we decided you were ready then it was up to us to give you whatever you needed to lead and do so with vigor and confidence grown by the faith of the people you lead. The secret is that anyone can lead providing they have drawn a clear picture for the future, defined how they plan to take us to that future, tasked the people with their role in this plan and then step forward and let the wave of the supporters assisting and pushing you on ahead as the leader. You see, the people choose a leader and when there is no true and real leader with an idea and a picture they can draw for everyone of what they aim to accomplish and the people agree and ask again for the initial steps they should take that lead to your future and then get ready to run. If as the leader you falter, then the people will have to carry you until you regain your footing; but if we detect that your faith has wavered and the dream has dimmed in your eyes and deserted your hearing, then the people will seek a new leader as you will have left them stuck half way, but the people will live on and find their next leader as that is how it works. Read about Winston Churchill’s life. He was ridiculed and chased from public life, called a warmongering old man who never left the big war. Yet when Hitler was knocking on Britain’s door who did they call? Winston Churchill, and almost as soon as that war ended they unceremoniously punted him from office and into retirement until a few years later they once again needed a leader as they were facing dire problems. Winston Churchill may not have been the leader they needed then, but during World War II there could not have been a better leader than Winston Churchill and the Queen steadied the ship and even joined the crews working in the wreckage that was south London. She assisted in stacking the whole bricks and the broken bricks each according to size and reusability and her assistance did little in the theme of things but few did more. The Queen, Churchill, and the Royal Air Force (RAF) saved Britain to fight another day, and fight on she did. Great times will make great leaders more often than great leaders will make great times.

When the situation is dire and the enemies are closing on all quarters leaving nothing on which to hope than one last charge into the breach, then that is when a great leader is required. Israel is in just such a position. The friend who gave promise after promise barely keeping a one of them but still a friend is all one can hope for when the stormy winds do blow. The winds are blowing and swirling all about Israel yet thus far she has held her ground and not been swept into the mire quite yet. It is just these winds which are blowing everywhere just outside our borders and beyond does not bode well as these items have a way of dragging us down and into the fray. Israel needs a great leader with a cool hand and a mind capable of nimble calculations made on the fly yet critically accurate. The rules for judging human beings and their often emotional outbreaks are not as well defined as a game of chess or checkers. Israel’s main problem lies at a distance but is also being permitted to enrich uranium and plutonium such they will be a virtual nuclear armed nation, whatever that means. United States President Obama may have misspoken when answering a question about Iranian breakout point when he answered that their breakout time would be zero. The media pretended that he had not made any odd or worrisome statement and the interview continued without returning to that question or making any note when summing up the interview. A breakout time of zero means that the Iranians after a decade will have the ability to make an advanced nuclear weapon in as little as six weeks, possibly less. Additionally, should the Houthis in Yemen conquer the entirety of their nation, something which appears to be all but guaranteed, then indirectly Iran will have control over the two most strategic chokepoints for shipping in the world. Additionally, this will add Yemen to the list of nations directly or indirectly which include Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and their foothold in South America in the Tri-Border Region. Iran has ties with the Cuban government as well as loose alliances with the Mexican drug cartels through Hezballah and by whom they gain access into the United States. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are getting rather edgy with Yemen being their immediate concern. The Saudis have even gone so far as to seek a possible alliance which would include Turkey, the wildcard which nobody knows where they will appear but one can bet that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan which will make Egypt more than a little edgy as Turkey and especially Recep Tayyip Erdogan have direct and deep relations with the Muslim Brotherhood. One item which everyone can rely on from Turkey sometime this summer they will again launch the Mavi Marmara on another attempt at breaking the Gaza Embargo blockade. Thus far there is no solid data on how many ships and activists they plan in sending along with the Mavi Marmara on this summer’s little stunt which the leaders of IHH have planned with the finest Islamist blessing from Recep Tayyip Erdogan. As one can see from just this sampling of the realities, pressures, problems, challenges and other calamities waiting for those who choose to desire to lead the state of Israel, it is no wonder that Naftali Bennett and others would think themselves not ready to take on the challenges any Israeli Prime Minister must face even briefly, let alone for four years should he also manage to keep all the disparate groups making up his coalition happy, and this would prove difficult even if one was blessed with a coalition with only three or four parties giving the Prime Minister the comfort of a seemingly stable coalition to oversee. In all honesty, no sane person could ever truly be ready to hold the office of Prime Minister and anybody saying different has not considered the challenges or the threats they would face when holding the position. The Prime Minister would have those detractors who would sit comfortably challenging every decision made by the Prime Minister simply playing devil’s advocate and that are just the media. Even from within his own party the Prime Minister would receive criticisms both from those further to the right and from those further to the left and would soon realize that a Prime Minister can find themselves truly alone even in a meeting of his inner cabinet. Facing these challenges and the other daunting difficulties which every Prime Minister is required to face would chill the nerves of even the best amongst us and would be such that no rational individual would desire such office, yet should the head of even the smallest party claim they are not willing to put their shoulder against the wheel and push it with all their might, then that party needs to choose a new leader who is composed of sterner material. Still, leading a party and potentially having to face the burdens of the office of the Prime Minister would be the challenge of one’s lifetime and truly exhausting taking every last morsel of energy you could give and then demand just that little bit more as the office will force you to give your best effort or it will overwhelm one; so yes Mr. Bennett, you are like every other person who would be facing this before you, but still whether the people desire you to take on that mantle is who decides whether you are ready for such position and you as a party leader do not have the right to take that choice from us, the electorate. That is how the system works and that is what we are left with currently and for the foreseeable future and it is up to us to make this system work and to make changes as we are able and prove to have been capable to meet the challenge just as the electorate chose, the electorate chose and not the party leadership necessarily making such a choice. May the electorate find that leader capable of withstanding the pressures and still stand ready and capable of staring down any external influences who will try to manipulate the leaders of the nation of Israel as, for reasons too perplexing to go into here, the whole rest of the world seems to believe that they are the deciders of what direction Israel must take, yet they are gathered around the Israeli leadership waiting with the patience of vultures desiring to feast on the last remnants of Israel after the world powers have chopped sufficient sections off to grant to any and every claimant against the Jewish nation and then waiting for the last bit to die a very unnatural death. This is why we must have a leader who will stand up and say, ‘no more’ and ‘never again’ and lastly, ‘that which was promised us by man and by a higher power will be ours to cherish and you with your axes desirous of cleaving piece after piece knowing that your angry actions will destroy would kill the victim Israel must know we will not go quietly into that darkness you wish to silence us with, we will not go into the night without a fight, we will win and retain our lands and the Zionist spirit which built her out of the swamps and rocks and boulders and against every challenge we did and will continue to prevail.’

I probably should have included the United Nations Security Council in the title as well as that is where this drama will eventually play out. It’s a serious game of ‘who will blink first’ combined with ‘truth or dare’ all rolled up into a larger game of ‘chicken’ over the coming Israeli elections. President Obama really is tired of and hates Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. He despises his nationalistic pride, his belief in right and wrong as delineated by his religion, his fierce defense of his belief and most of all, his refusal to be dictated to and obey every last wise council and direction from President Obama. President Obama does not handle rejection very well, believes he is the most knowledgeable person in all matters and absolutely cannot handle when open defiance also results in proof that President Obama’s demands would have delivered disastrous results plus proving that everything the President held as factual was completely erroneous. What is rapidly pushing things beyond the cusp is the inability of President Obama to handle anybody challenging his authority combined with such denials proving the defiant person having a more grounded view of the realities of the situation proving beyond any doubt that the President’s grasp of the situation was completely wrong. Adding insult to injury, President Obama has chosen to fully back the European argument that the Palestinians are angelic innocents who only desire their rightful and historic homeland restored to them which they lost as a result of Israeli and Jewish aggressions and that all the related violence in the Israeli-Arab conflict would come to an end and peace and joyousness would spread across the globe if only the Israelis would yield to the Arab demands and surrender to the Arab demands. Now the game really comes to a head as the Israeli government has opted for new elections which will make the lack of congenial relations between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu who is seeking to remain in office by having his party, and potentially any other willing and like-minded nationalistic parties, to gain the largest number of seats in the next Knesset (parliament) to return him to the Prime Ministership.

The meme that will be used by the leftist parties and their candidates for the Prime Ministership and other spokespeople and candidates for Ministerships is that Prime Minister Netanyahu is risking the destruction of the close relationship between Israel and the United States which could result in some near disastrous ramifications if Netanyahu is not defeated and replaced by somebody more aligned and friendly towards the American President and his views. Never mind that what is driving President Obama in his views and dealings with Israel is an overriding desire to place Israel in such a disadvantaged position as to potentially make their continued existence virtually untenable. Of course should Israel fall in line and follow the desires of the European leaders, the United Nations, the Arab world, President Obama and some of the far leftist in Israel and surrender before all the demands of Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and surrender all of Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem, which includes all of the Old City and Temple Mount, for the formation of a twenty-third Arab nation, the resulting situation would place Israel in a severely compromised position which is considered by virtually every last military experts and actual commanders, including both Israeli and those of the United States, to be indefensible borders so vulnerable that they have been named the ‘Auschwitz Borders’, a name first given the pre Six Day War (1967 Arab-Israeli War) borders by Israel’s most articulate foreign minister and former United Nations Ambassador Abba Eban.

One might think that no Israeli leader seeking to be the Prime Minister would ever permit such a situation to come to be, but then many thought there was no way for President Obama to win reelection. This is one of the problems with any political system which depends on the people voting to choose their leadership, the people can be misled and follow a charismatic leader sown the primrose path to desolation and destruction. I think the labels given this situation by talk radio and other personalities in the United States is the problem of the low information voters versus the right-minded thinking of the high information voters. Unsurprisingly, Israel also has its share of low information voters; or at least those voters who live in their own bubble far enough away from any untoward events destroying their serene view of the universe who believe fervently in the far leftist polemical views and definitions of the situations facing Israel and nothing is capable of shaking their foundational beliefs. These people form the central core of those who believe that Bibi Netanyahu is a spawn of evil and everything he stands for is dangerous and must be opposed at all costs. Add on top of this the tendency of candidates to tailor their speeches and positions to match their audience and then you have the potential for sufficient numbers of voters led into voting with what they will later realize was a false sense of security. The last elections had a perfect example of such a candidate with Yair Lapid claiming that he was a far cry from any and everything his father stood for when he won a large following in his initial foray into politics coming from a news media personality. His father, Tommy Lapid, did not even receive sufficient votes the next election to gain entrance into the Knesset as voters were then voting on his actual record and not his campaign soliloquies. Yair Lapid campaigned on a nationalistic and rightist agenda which would have been a long cry from what his father proved to believe. Lapid talked the talk but after gaining the second most seats in the Knesset did not walk the walk. His true agendas came out and he was not as nationalist as he pretended, was actually a relative leftist and his main belief and aim is to become Prime Minister. What is even more frightening is that he desires to be Prime Minister not because he desires to serve Israel or the people, but because he believes deep down that he knows the true and best path and only he is capable of making Israel acceptable to the rest of the world and make a lasting and complete peace even with Israel’s most ardent of detractors who would only actually be satiated by the destruction of Israel and its people. But Yair Lapid is far from alone in these feelings as there are many others beyond just Tzipi Livni, Naftali Bennett and Isaac Herzog. I am lead to believe that it is part of the desire to lead a political party in Israel to believe that you are the rightful and sole person capable of leading Israel on a true and safe path which will provide the most advantageous leadership possible and definitely more advantageous than what any of the other party leaders would be capable of providing. Guess it kind of goes with the neighborhood.

Adding in Jordanian King Abdullah II, the Jordanian King recently had a head-to-head talk with President Obama after which President Obama was quoted by UPI as having stated, “We share concerns about the continuous tensions between Israel and Gaza. We are going to work together for a Palestinian State.” This is interesting in a frightening sort of way as currently Jordan sits in the United Nations Security Council and will assume the Presidency in January and is planning on presenting a proposal seeking a binding resolution under Chapter Seven setting a deadline for Israel to surrender to the territorial demands of Mahmoud Abbas permitting the formation of another Arab state consisting of all of Judea, Samaria and Eastern Jerusalem. These lands will be necessarily denuded of their Jewish residents. This confiscation of their lands and businesses will be made without any manner of remuneration for their value; any financial compensation would be left to Israel to provide which basically comes to a form of double financial jeopardy. Of course all of this leads us to the recent revelation that President Obama and his close knot inner advisors are mulling exactly what sanctions they should place on Israel if Israel does not immediately adopt policies in line with the concepts which President Obama has expressed repeatedly to Prime Minister Netanyahu without any obedience from the Israeli leader. The particular area which has President Obama incensed is any building which Israel allows in areas beyond the Green Line, the 1949 Armistice Lines which denoted Israeli controlled areas up until the Six Day War in June of 1967. What makes this seem frighteningly identical to what Israel perceives as its perfect storm would be the presentation by Jordan under Chapter Seven Resolution bindingly stipulating that Israel surrender all lands beyond the Green Line and return to controlling only the lands it held before the Six Day War and force the Israeli Jews living currently in any parts of Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem to be resettled within Israel at Israeli expense and have the United States refuse to utilize their veto and allowing the resolution to be adopted.

This may be the exact meaning of the threat supposedly revealed to the Israeli leftist newspaper Haaretz which printed the report this past week. This has been considered the opening salvo from the Obama White House team to affect the Israeli elections. American perfidy intervening in Israeli elections attempting to influence the results has a history. The Clinton White House dispatched members of their election team to Israel to assist the Labor Party and other left leaning Parties in their successful, well, one might call it a putsch others a campaign with a smidgen of foreign interference, whichever you prefer in assuring the then Prime Minister Netanyahu was not successful in retaining his position. The following results from this intervention led indirectly to the Gaza divestment under Prime Minister Ariel Sharon who was elected to replace Netanyahu as the leader of the Likud Party as a result of his loss partially due to the intervention by President Bill Clinton’s operatives in the 1999 elections. President Clinton pulled this coup of sorts in order to put a more pliable leader into the Prime Minister’s office in order to permit him to reach that ever difficult Arab-Israeli peace accord. President Clinton went forth arm-in-arm with Prime Minister Ehud Barak who succeeded Netanyahu thanks to the political assist from the President of the United States onto make peace with Yasser Arafat by presenting him with the most generous of offers by the Israelis working with President Clinton. Despite their best combined efforts, the end result was a scene covered visually by many news reports showing United States Secretary of State Madeline Albright running to the best of her ability after Yasser Arafat in Paris calling out pleadingly for him to please return to the negotiations as Arafat strode out into his limousine and departed. Chairman Arafat found himself presented with a plan by Israel which met his every demand set forth the previous day which the Israelis made their offer as President Clinton gave them whatever assurances were required for them to make the sacrifices. We will never know whether President Clinton was being forthright or simply telling the necessitated tale to reach the desired goal as this offer was refused by Arafat by his walkout as he could not say no to the exact terms he had demanded, only walking out could provide the needed escape from reaching an agreement. Why President Clinton was taken at his word is baffling as previously President Clinton had made a verbal agreement with Prime Minister Netanyahu to release Israeli spy Johnathan Pollard in return for Netanyahu meeting some demand and after Netanyahu complied, President Clinton told him he was a fool believing that Pollard would ever be released by the United States. There were rumors of a more pointed rejection which will not be quoted here as there is no way to verify the comments.

All things considered, it will be interesting while covering the Israeli election cycle on how exactly President Obama sticks his fingers into the mix and attempts to stir it to his desired pleasure. The one guarantee is that there will be interference with the Israeli campaigning by not just President Obama and company but also many Europeans will do what they are able though their injections will come through the use mostly of NGOs that they pay to lobby Israel to meet European wishes. The European Union is liable to interfere more directly likely making bellicose demands that Israel consider certain realities before electing their next leader. Realities is defines as the world according to the European union and has little if anything to do with what is best for Israel except most often being directly opposed to what is best for Israel. Then there will be the campaigns and their loose dealings with the truth which in our case means disagrees with our sensible perceptions of reality. We will also continue to cover other items of concerns including the negotiations of the P5+1 and Iran, Arab terrorism, and general items of interest concerning Europe, the Middle East, the United States, the United Nations and the world and beyond, especially if that much anticipated UFO landing on the White House lawn, in front of the Knesset in Jerusalem, or on the Temple Mount in which case Israel will be blamed for attempting to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque with their spaceship which had been hiding on the far side of the Moon.
