Why Does Israel Continue to Exist Today?

Ask the average American irreligious or slightly religious Jew, many call them secular Jews or twice a year Jews who only visit the synagogue for the High Holidays and celebrate Hanukkah almost as if it were the Jewish Christmas even to having what they call a Hanukkah Bush (it really is a Christmas Tree with a six pointed star on top instead of a five pointed star). Ask the Jewish leadership of the Anti-Defamation League. Ask Rabbi Rick Jacobs, President of the Union for Reform Judaism. Ask Gideon Levy who writes for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. Ask J-Street, B’Tselem, Peace Now or any of the plethora of misnamed human rights groups which act as Palestinian Arab critical support and fifth column against Israeli interests. The list of people and groups one can ask extends throughout Europe and the entire world with an ever growing number vocally screaming foul over the latest law passed by the Knesset which makes the Jewish communities anywhere west of the Jordan River legal, even those in the, dare we say it, West Bank, formerly known as Judea and Samaria for close to three thousand years. All these protesters keep repeating that this law will destroy the Israeli democracy and disenfranchise Arabs in Israel. This is total bunk. The Israeli Arabs will not be affected by this law in any way or by any means, period. Arabs will still be permitted to work in any position they are qualified to and desire, they will continue to be doctors, nurses, lawyers, Ministers in the Knesset, judges including on the Supreme Court, drivers, construction, engineering or anything they can dream. They will still own their homes, live where they choose, attend schools of their choice, attend church, Mosque, Synagogue or other religious institution of their choice, drive, ride all forms of transportation, vote in all elections and everything else as citizens of Israel. Guess that democracy thing will survive.

I hear the yelling already, “What about the Palestinians voting?” Well, tell you what, whenever Mahmoud Abbas decides that elections are due, then they can have elections. Abbas is serving his twelfth year of a four year term which started in January 2005. The reason the Palestinian Arabs have not voted is because the Palestinian Authority, which means Mahmoud Abbas who has become its dictatorial ruler, has suspended their democratic processes as Abbas knows he would never win in a fair election and the deceit necessary to have him win is beyond his personal ability to manage as there are those standing ready for any opportunity to replace him. Israel has absolutely no control over elections for the Palestinian authority any more than it has over elections in Gaza ruled by Hamas. Where Israel is often faulted for the lack of opportunity to vote for their government by the Arab Palestinians, it has no validity and nothing to do with Arab Israelis who have full rights and do vote in Israeli elections. What happens to the Palestinian Arabs has more to do with their true intentions and the actual and real meaning and purpose of the State of Israel. We will try and clarify both in the remainder of this article and hope we can at least set a few misconceptions straight.

First, let us cover the easiest misperception, that Israel was founded to be a democracy. Not even slightly true. Israel was founded to be the homeland for the Jewish People. It is that simple. Read the Balfour Declarations (see image below) and you will see nary a word about democracy throughout. Read the San Remo Conference and again nary a word about elections, democracy or anything covering governance. Everything in every treaty, conference, document and even the Mandate Rules written by the League of Nations have no reference to democracy or anything about how the State of Israel was to be governed. The main points were that it was to be the homeland for the Jewish People and it could not deprive the residents residing in the land of their freedoms to own property, practice their religion and all civil and religious rights but says nothing about political rights. According to all of the laws etcetera regarding the making and founding of the State of Israel, the form of governance is completely unmentioned leaving it up to the Jews, the Zionists, to decide as they formed their nation. Technically, Israel could legally limit the right to vote to Jews or even to practicing Jews. Israel did not take that path. Israel gave full rights to their population whether Jewish or not. That is why Arabs are full voting citizens of the State of Israel as are many other peoples who were present or have been allowed citizenship as refugees from persecution. The Arabs who remained in Israel did not join the Arab forces who attacked Israel in the 1948 Arab War of Genocidal Intent launched by the Arab World on Israel’s founding morning of May 15, 1948.

Balfour Declaration and Initial Proposed Map and Lands

Balfour Declaration and
Initial Proposed Map and Lands

As a result of that war, what in Israel is euphemistically called the Israeli War of Independence and is celebrated as a victory as Israel survived, yet the reality comes to territory where Israel lost major parts of Judea and Samaria to Jordan who renamed that area the West Bank while Egypt took over the Gaza Strip. There were some Arab villages which harbored fighters which attacked the Israeli forces from behind the lines which lead to the Israeli forces dispossessing the entire village as that was the expedient way of addressing the situation most efficiently and immediately deciding that the villagers were at the least partially responsible for the use of their areas for staging a rear attack and that they were acting as a fifth column. Much has been misrepresented about these actions claiming that these villagers were dispossessed of their lands simply because they were Arabs and nothing else, ignoring their harboring of Arab forces which were planted in order to attack Israeli forces from behind and cutting off their routes of supply and assaulting the civilians claiming that every Jew was a legitimate target. These differences will never be resolved and can only be mitigated by what means will allow.

We have settled that the only real meanings behind the founding of Israel was to take some desert, swamp lands and rock strewn hills into the Jewish homeland. The few people residing in these lands at the end of World War I, a sparse set of peoples strewn here and there, were guaranteed their civil and religious rights such as continued ownership of lands, herds, business, residence and other properties as well as rights to worship in their traditional methods and follow their religions freely. The existing residents were not guaranteed political rights which were reserved technically for the Jewish People if this were the decision of the Zionist Congress upon the founding of the state. When Israel was founded on May 15, 1948 one might say that everything hit the fan as forces from more than a half dozen Arab armies and militias attacked Israel from every possible direction. Peace was not achieved for over a year and when the decision of governance was finally addressed the leadership from the Zionist Congress and the other groups such as the Haganah reached the decision to extend full political rights to all the residents in the nation, Arabs, Jews, Christians, Bedouins, Druze, Baha’I and other smaller minority groups all as one democratic nation. This was the first actual decision on using a democracy and it is notable that the democracy was all inclusive of those who were not opposed to the Jews having their own state. This is how and why Israel is a democracy.

When the State of Israel was founded, the Palestinian Arabs were not citizens of Israel but were Arabs residing in Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia as well as some Iraqis, Turks, Yemenis and others who were part of the invading forces and who remained on the lands or were actually driven onto the lands by their governments in order to make what have become known as facts on the ground. The claims that all of the Palestinian Arabs came from inside Israel is a common factual lie which has been repeated so often with such force and echo-chamber reinforced, the world now accepts it as factual. This is the main drive behind the two state concept as the claim is Israel owes the remnant of her invaders their own nation. This misconception has poisoned the waters so permanently that a solution would be difficult if this was the sole difficulty. There is a further problem in that the Arabs do not believe that the Jews have any right to a homeland within what they see as the Muslim Ummah. Their claim is that throughout all history, which for the Muslims begins in 625, there have been no Jewish lands within the lands they conquered and colonized. The reality is that the Arabs have the longest running and most extensive colonial enterprise in world history. They also are under the belief that the problem with the world is that it has not yet, emphasis on yet, come under the rule of Allah and the dictatorial rule of Islam. Until they are disabused of this notion, Israel, as well as the world in total, can never feel safe from the next Islamic offensive, something the Europeans should remember from their own history as Islam has attacked through Spain only to be turned at Tours by Charles “the Hammer” Martel and twice from Turkey Ottoman Empire being turned back at the Battle of Vienna, the first attack being stopped in 1529 and the second assault turned back by Polish King John III Sobieski in 1683.

Israel, conceived, initiated and founded to be the homeland of the Jewish People has faced the difficulty of a Palestinian Arab irascible obstinacy demanding they are the rightful owners of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea and that the Jews have no rights in these lands and deserve to be exterminated. This has been their first, second, and final demand and they refuse to compromise and accept anything less. Their demands are often couched in coded verbiage such as their demanding they receive their 22% of the Mandate Lands. The western leadership will almost always take that to mean that they are demanding 22% of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea this meaning Judea and Samaria or Judea, Samaria and Gaza. What Abbas actually means and has explained as his meaning is 22% of the entire of the Mandate Lands, the 22% which consists of all the lands not taken to make Jordan which was 78% of the original Mandate Lands, the entire of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. Yasser Arafat and after him Mahmoud Abbas both demanded that Israel be destroyed and replaced by Palestine. Abbas has actually offered one compromise; his idea of a two state solution. His two state idea is for an Arab Palestine which will be completely free of Jews and an Arab ruled State of Israel where the Jews have no rights and are allowed to live at the indulgence of their betters, the Arabs which will include over five million Arabs brought from refugee camps from around the Arab world and even within Judea and Samaria and Gaza and who knows how many additional Arabs who simply claim to be refugees seeking economic betterment. Anyway one cuts it, finding a solution which will satisfy the Palestinian Arab leadership and their Arab League backers, it would require sacrificing the Jewish State making the Jews once again stateless.

The problem with the Arab reasoning is that history did not begin in 625 AD, especially in the lands of Judea, Samaria and the rest of the lands of the Twelve Tribes of Israel (see map on right below). The Twelve Tribes of Israel were founded when Joshua crossed the Jordan River and defeated the first Canaanite King of Jericho. This was followed with another victory at Ai and continued until the Holy Lands were conquered following numerous tactical routes first heading through the central Judean hills, then southward and finally the northern areas (shown in the left map below). This conquest began approximately 1275 BCE. Since that time virtually every conquering empire outside those in the Americas, China, Japan, and Russia but even to including the Vikings if one believes that the Greeks were originally Vikings who found the Greek climate preferable to Scandinavia, surprise, surprise, and their Triremes were modified Long Ships; they all have invaded and occupied without ever naming Jerusalem as a capital city even for a province unless the province was expressly for the Jews as was the case under the Persian Empire of Cyrus the Great. The Jewish People have an extensively long history uninterrupted with Jews residing in the lands and especially in Jerusalem constantly starting soon after the entrance of Joshua through the expansive times under Kings David and Solomon through the First Temple Period, their Babylonian exile of most of the population and their subsequent return and building of the Second Temple and expanding the Temple Mount and the remainder of their history through to the modern period. That is the real history and Israel was founded recognizing the entirety of the history, not just that which is fancifully convenient for the Islamic sensibilities.

Israel Through the Ages Joshua Enters to the Twelve Tribes

Israel Through the Ages Joshua Enters to the Twelve Tribes

Then there is the biggest fallacy of them all, that Israel conquered Palestinian Lands in the Six Day War in 1967. First thing is there has never been anything called Palestine for their land to be stolen. Palestine is the name of the region and the original use of the term Palestinian was for the Jews during the British Mandate period where the Arabs were referred to as Arabs or Syrians, Jordanians, Iraqis, Druze, Bedouins, Egyptians or other designation of origin or tribe. When Israel regained the lands of Judea and Samaria in the 1967 Six Day War they were not conquering new lands, they were liberating their own lands which had been occupied by the Jordanians since the 1948 War. The only occupation of Judea and Samaria was by Jordan and the claim that Jordan gifted these lands to the Palestinian Arabs is a great misconception, a great invention of propaganda. The lands were originally and always Israeli and were occupied by Jordan. One cannot give away stolen lands and thus Jordan could not gift the lands to the Palestinian Arabs as it was stolen land occupied illegally by Jordan. The entire world with the exception of Britain and Pakistan refused to recognize these lands as Jordanian. Even Egypt and the Arab League refused to recognize the Jordanian occupation. Lastly, Jordan signed a peace with Israel surrendering the occupied lands of Judea and Samaria back to Israel and it was not until two years after that treaty that Jordan officially claimed to have gifted the lands to Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian Arabs. That makes these lands doubly not Jordanian to give as they were not even occupying the lands when they claimed to have given them away. What is next, the Iranians claiming they gave away Hollywood to the Arab Palestinians community of Southern California? That would be just as legal as the Jordanian claims to have given land they did not even possess at the time to the Palestinian Arabs and they even made the claim retroactive to attempt to grant it some degree of validity. That simply does not wash and the land remains Israeli until such time as Israel gives it away in a treaty, something seeming more and more remote by the day.

The Real Problem in Israel

Israel has a slew of little problems which all come from European broken promises and Islamic hatred. One might even make the claim that Israel had two problems and both could be solved if promises were kept and hatreds were parked and the rest of the world simply attempted to tend to their problems. Let us take a quick look at a few of the craziest demands made of Israel by the world’s busy bodies such as the European Union and numerous European governments, NGOs, oligarchs and politicians, people and organizations feeding on hatred and the driving desire to destroy the Jewish State and its Jews knowing that such would all but destroy the Jewish faith leaving a few scattered islands of Orthodox Jews living always nervously waiting for the authorities thumb to try and crush the life from their communities. The latest attempt to crush a small Jewish community came in Yemen where seventeen Yemenite Jews were rescued from the deadly civil war that has taken over their country as they were facing a threat of death or conversion and a daring rescue was arranged and they are safely in Israel with an absolutely immaculate 800-year-old Torah scroll (see below) and their Rabbi Saliman Dahari who arrived with his parents and his wife. Our deepest thanks to the United States State Department for making the initial snatch taking these refugees to a neutral nation and from there they were eventually taken to Israel. They were rescued in a complicated operation, which was conducted by the Jewish Agency and these Jewish refugees need not worry about what nation in the world might grant them asylum as Israel will go one better, they became Israeli citizens as soon as they landed and now they need pile through the paperwork as the bureaucrats must have their jobs and need to justify their salaries.

This has been the policy of Israel for almost seventy years and would have been the provisional Zionist Congress except the British overseeing their Mandate refused to permit Jews to flee Europe and escape the Nazi death camps which was also the British policy and the United States which refused to allow refugees attempting to escape Europe just as they refused to bomb the railroad tracks leading to Auschwitz but instead bombed the tracks at a junction five miles away cutting the town from the trains while still allowing their access to Auschwitz and Birkenau, the death camp attached to the labor camp. General Eisenhower insisted that the liberated camps be heavily documented with pictures, lots of pictures, because he said mankind must never forget this monstrosity and if we do not document it they most surely will. These are presumably Israeli allies who have Israel’s back in any situation.

Let’s take a quick look at these great allies; those who won World War II and some also were on the winning side in World War I. After granting the British control over Mandate Lands with which they were to establish a Jewish State, they immediately divided it giving it to the Arabs and the Hashemite King who had been replaced as the ruler of Mecca and Medina by the Saudi Royal Family. The British had promised, well, Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) promised lands to the Hashemites and their ruler and they received all of the lands east of the Jordan River up to and bordering Iraq in the east, Syria in the north, Saudi Arabia in the south and the Jordan River in the west. The area which was the British Mandate west of the Jordan River had been ruled over by empire after empire with none making any city within the geographical area since Judea broke free from Greek rule making Jerusalem their Capital City. Previous to this state, Judea had survived after the Ten Tribes of Israel were conquered by the Assyrians. Eventually Judea fell but still no conqueror ever made their capital city within the lands which had made up Israel and Judea.

Modern Israel and the initial influx of Jews who drained swamps, constructed water works for irrigation, constructed roads, established commerce and manufacturing was the impetus for Arabs, Muslims and Christians from as far as Yemen, Algeria, Turkey as well as adjacent French Mandate lands, Syria, Jordan (or Transjordan), Saudi Arabia, Iran and even Afghanistan. There has been a Jewish population in Jerusalem consistently from before the Roman Empire swept through, before Alexander the Great, before Assyria and even before Persia engaged Greece and before Babylon. Jerusalem was the Capital city since King David conquered the great walled city and remained under Jewish rule for over seven-hundred-fifty years with the First Temple constructed by King Solomon as King David was forbidden as he had far too much blood on his hands. We need to realize that Buddha was born either in 563 BCE or c. 480 BCE, Confucius was born 551 BCE and the Second Temple was built in between 515 BCE or 550 BCE as the Jews go back a large amount earlier.

The map of ancient Israel covers all of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea as well as the eastern side of the Sea of Galilee and down the West Bank of the Jordan River to the Dead Sea. Israel is today being reasonable in claiming the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea with the Golan Heights and as far as the eastern bank of the Sea of Galilee, that can be negotiated with Jordan. As for the Arabs who are demanding their own nation, may we suggest somewhere in central region of what used to be Syria. If they choose they could seek residence in Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria or wherever they have relatives residing as it could be used as a reattachment with their family or tribal groups. If they would prefer attempting to have any success in Europe, Israel would wish them well. The United States or South America might provide them new homes. The Jews for the first twenty years of Israeli existence the refugees continued in a steady stream sometimes seemingly overflowing with refugees thrown from their lands without being allowed to take more than they could reasonably carry. They received no payment for any property such as homes, businesses, inventory, artwork, jewelry and the list seems endless. Well over two-million Jewish refugees have been absorbed by Israel after they were driven from their lands and these refugees are far from the only refugees as Israel has absorbed displaced Christians and Baha’i from the Muslim world. Israel has more recently gone and saved threatened Jews from Yemen to Morocco and from Russia to the Philippines and absorbed the hundreds of thousands of Jews returning home every decade.

The Ethiopian, Menashe, Yemeni and other Jews throughout Asia, North Africa and the Middle East are still being brought home all too often just before they would have been executed or made to convert to Islam. There are soon to be waves of additional Jews from Europe as anger and anti-Semitic feelings grow. The same can be seen in the streets of the United States and across the college and university grounds and classrooms in the United States and Canada. Below is the scene just outside the AIPAC Convention in Washington D.C. where many of the attendees were assaulted by a vicious anti-Israel and anti-Semitic crowd. Play the video and listen to many of the calls for killing the young man who the police managed to close upon and escort him into the building. These attacks were all too common during the convention and are simply the next step which follows the anti-Zionist and anti-Israel and BDS Movement. This is in Washington DC, the Capital City of the United States, this week, but we should not be surprised.

Israel’s population is increasing and will continue to as the Jews in the Western World start coming under ever increasing pressures. Europe is already lost as the European Union and many European leftist governments are buying land under false pretenses and building homes and giving them to Arab Muslims all across Area C which the Oslo Accords forbids such. If an Israel expanded a flowerbox the European Union, much of Scandinavia, Paris and the rest of France, the United Nations, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau and President Obama would all have catatonic apoplexy all of them making a federal case with Israeli ambassadors called to explain and Prime Minister Netanyahu hearing demands that he condemn such a reprehensible act. Meanwhile the population continued to grow and the area from Haifa to Ashkelon is well crowded area with the Tel Aviv suburbs stacked with apartment buildings, many well over fifteen stories. Kfar Saba and Netanya are simply suburbs of Tel Aviv and these residential and business buildings reach all the way to the Judean Hills and then climb right on up them spreading across the Green Line.

All building to add to these suburbs has been frozen for the three and a half years since President Obama won reelection. You might call it Prime Minister Netanyahu’s reelection present to President Obama who pocketed the surrender and has raised the stakes claiming he will not veto the French Initiative and he has John Kerry pressuring the new French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault to retract his cancellation of the former French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and restate the full previous draft which would have made any failure by Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) to automatically inforce a Palestinian State with the 1949 Armistice Lines as the border under Chapter Seven of the United Nations Security Council’s Charter which would allow for military force to be applied to enforce and commit a determination by the Security Council. This would allow for Iran, North Korea, France, Britain, Egypt, and any other military with the full backing of the United States and also Russia, China, Pakistan and whoever else decides to join the enforcement coalition. Israel has reached peace agreements with Jordan and Egypt but the world insists that such treaties do not mean that Israel gets to keep the lands she liberated from nineteen years of occupation, oh no, Israel must be forced back to borders which are next to impossible to defend so that the Islamic forces can attempt once again to genocidally eradicate Israel. Apparently the Western World, or at least President Obama and possibly the European Union, decide that they desire a preemptive reason to stomp Israel into the ground and the Security Council can provide just such an order. Perhaps this is the legacy President Obama desires for himself. He probably believes that attempting to destroy Israel will be a plus on his resume to become the next Secretary General of the United Nations. Imagine Secretary General Obama wielding power beyond his wildest dreams able to call up Russian, Chinese, American, and European militaries to enforce his ideals on the rest of the planet. About the only addition one might add would be, “Would you like fries with your order?”

We have heard things must be prepared to fall into place and negotiations resume with an end clearly in sight. How can this not be as President Obama has made a slight aside to distract those opposing him by claiming he doubted any progress could be made before he leaves office. Don’t let this fool anyone; he still has his eyes on a second Nobel Peace Prize by forcing peace on Israel no matter how much of Israel he will need to destroy before stepping down next January. Throwing his weight into the mix is another man facing a lackluster career as Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon has thrown his support behind Palestinian terror giving his understanding of the frustration having forced their acts of wanton murder of Israelis (read Jews). He preceded that with throwing a hissy fit because Israel had not taken whatever was demanded of them and had not resumed the peace talks with Mahmoud Abbas. Ban Ki-Moon was probably daydreaming about Pope Francis when he prayed at a carefully chosen segment of the anti-terror barrier near Bethlehem which had painted in English its comparison with the wall around the Warsaw Ghetto. The montage below is just a sample of the numerous pictures taken and released with who knows how many other pictures were given to the numerous NGOs which do their best to ravage Israel around the world in the many media outlets. This is the very Pope Francis who praised arch terror master and financial procurer for the Munich Olympics terrorist murders of Israeli Olympic team members Mahmoud Abbas as an Angel of Peace when hosting him at the Vatican, probably the most horrific mischaracterization in modern history.

With the visions of Pope Francis, the status and media availability at the beck and call of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon seeking his legacy and the other leader in search of a legacy and President of the United States Barack Obama all focusing laser-like glares at Israel demanding that they do whatever their darling, Mahmoud Abbas, demands of them to make peace at long last. They claim simply by returning to the boundaries of the 1949 Armistice Lines, the Green Line, and the removal of those infernal settlers and make the land pristine and devoid of any Zionist menace to threaten Palestinians into committing terrorist acts and allow the formation of Palestine. What could go wrong and defeat the efforts of such monumental efforts pressing Israel and aiding Mahmoud Abbas and the long stricken and stateless Palestinian Arabs whose existence without a state of their own has gone on longer than can be measured. What is insane is that is actually a true statement as it was that in 1770 the British colonists in the Americas along the Atlantic Ocean who were demanding their own nation too had waited to establish their nation since the beginning of time. These two peoples had something in common, neither had ever had a nation of their own and any claim they were making was to establish a nation on lands which had an aboriginal peoples already living on them. The American colonists were sharing lands sort of with the Native American Indians and the Arab Palestinians are sitting on lands which sole surviving aboriginal people which are the Jewish descendants of the Tribes of Judah and Benyamin and their surviving priests of the tribe of the Levites which included the Levites and the Kohanim. The reason the surviving Israelites are called Jews is because after having lost of the Ten Tribes of Israel after they were taken into captivity and enslavement by the Assyrians and then nothing as they assimilated or moved to the fringes of the Assyrian Kingdoms and then beyond seemingly lost to the rest of the remaining Israelites until recent times. The southern Kingdom which resisted the assaults of the Assyrians and eventually fell to the Babylonians and were freed and allowed to return and build the Second Temple by Cyrus the Great of the Persians as he conquered the Babylonians setting the Judeans and the remaining members of the priesthood and the tribe of Benyamin who reestablished Judea which lasted until the Roman dispersion. The Judeans were referred to by both the Greek Empire and the Roman Empire thereafter as Judeans and the slang was to call them Jews, it stuck.

But little items such as the truth and promises and treaties reached after World War I which redrew the maps of much of the world outside of the Americas, China, Russia, southern and central Africa, and the Far East. The Austria-Hungarian Empire and Ottoman Empire being defeated and this ended the self-rule of the latest version of an Islamic Caliphate and its colonization of the Middle East outside the Arabian Peninsula on across North Africa and into the Balkans and Caucuses around the Black Sea and into Spain where the spreading colonization had lasted an average of 900 to 1250 years replacing numerous indigenous self-ruling nations by force of arms. The average of 30 to 50 years of colonialization by European powers are constantly scorned for their sins of colonialism and slavery. The slavery trade by the Islamic societies long predated the Modern European period of slavery (post Roman Europe). If all of history were to be used to measure some of what modern Western society has judged to be vile and hateful activities are now used by the very societal descendants of those who had committed the sins of slavery and colonization long before, during and even after the Western nations and societies had relegated such practices to the dustbin of history.

Still, despite the promises of the League of Nations, the allies met and reached a solution referred to as the Mandate System to assist in the formation of two separate states for Arabs under two leaders and societies, a Christian homeland and a Jewish homeland out of the French and British Mandates. That Jewish State was to border the Christian State of Lebanon on the north, Egypt at the meeting point of the Sinai Peninsula and the Negev Desert and Jordan at the Jordan River. After the War of Annihilation by over a half-dozen Arab militaries starting the morning of Israeli existence with the genocide of the Jews and other non-Muslims as well as any Muslims who refused to join in murdering the infidels as its battle plan. The entire operation was expected to take days, maybe a couple of weeks to completely destroy these weak and inferior Jewish upstarts. The Arabs were coaxed by the Mufti of Jerusalem Amin al-Husseini to leave their homes and farms and join behind the massing Arab armies in camps for a few days and then they could return and share in the plunder of the Jew’s homes and other assets along with the invading conquerors of Arab armies. Something went wrong and the Jews, while losing lands did not lose entirely and remained on the lands the Arab armies were unable to conquer and built the State of Israel. Gaza was held by Egypt, the Golan Heights by Syria, and Judea and Samaria (West Bank) by Jordan. These lands belonged to the originating state of Israel and were the initial lands held by Israel on the morning that the Arab armies invaded and initially pushed the Jews before them until the Jews finally stopped the initial thrust and over the next year and a half the Israelis initially held the line and finally began to make headway gaining back the lands she had lost and that is when the world set the date when the fighting would end and an armistice line formed. Had the Israelis never had started pushing the Arab armies into retreats the war would have been allowed to continue in the knowledge that the Jews would eventually lose due to attrition as they would slowly be killed until a tipping point was reached where the numbers of defenders would leave the only solution a routing and annihilation of the Jews and their nascent state. The Jews winning would become a familiar point where every Arab Israeli war would be stopped.

But fear not as Pope Francis will likely assist as he is capable while United States President Obama and Secretary General Ki-Moon will combine their powers and efforts and press Netanyahu to get the peace process started or else they will make terms for settling this dispute finally and once and for all. They will demand that Netanyahu and the Israelis do whatever it takes to reach a peace agreement. The word will be they have spoken to President Abbas and he has pledged that he is ready to make peace if Israel and Netanyahu can get past their never ending demands that the Palestinians give up on their homelands and settle for living in Bantus just as the native South Africans were forced to do. Their use of the same word, Bantus, for the settlement areas they agreed upon in the Oslo Accords. But if one were to be honest, they would have paid attention to the demands and maps used by the Arab leaders of the Palestinian Authority, its predecessor the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization), a near universally recognized terrorist organization, and the media and education systems well documented by a number of groups including MEMRI, PMW, and CAMERA. They all document the incitement and demands not for two states but for the eradication of the state of Israel and the genocidal slaughter of every Jew in Israel.

The masks are coming off and with only a year to go Ban Ki-Moon will be going full out to repay his masters who awarded him the position of Secretary General for one reason, to rid them of that ugly stain known as Israel and he has skillfully led a United Nations and various sister organizations and NGOs in the expanding of boycotts, divestments and sanctions through their assistance and supportive activities such as the labelling of every possible Jewish historical sites such as Cave of the Patriarchs and Rachel’s Tomb as not belonging to any list of Jewish historical sites as they are in what the United Nations holds are Arab Palestinian lands and within Palestine. President Obama and the United States State department also raised complaints at Israeli insistence that these sites be renovated as Jewish historical sites. What does it matter if these tombs are four thousand years old, they have to be part of the Arab and Palestinian heritage. At the time Secretary of State Clinton was enthusiastic in supporting the Administration and UNESCO and other United Nations groups in the denunciation at this Israeli attempt to steal these Palestinian sites.

This will be a fateful year for the continuation or death of the state of Israel. You might think that such a dire existence would make Israelis nervous, worrisome and potentially frantic. You would be wrong as we have much practice at looking impending death in the face; we have been doing it as a peoples for the last three and a half millennia. There have been numerous empires (Roman, Greek, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Egyptian, Spanish, various Caliphs, Wazirs, Emir, Sultan, Kings, Barons, Czars, Communists and you name it), maniacal leaders (Hitler, Stalin, Haman, Ramses and again you name them), and just about everything else you could name such as the Spanish Inquisition, and also from 1315-1326 Emir Ismael Abu-I Walid forced the Jews of Granada to wear a yellow badge. We are familiar with persecution and somehow despite our small numbers throughout history we are still here, we are still vibrant and we are still fulfilling our imposed role in our influence commanded to be as a light unto the nations when we as a people have our own lands as we also serve Hashem and in all things walk humbly with our Lord. Yes, it seems we are facing ever graver threats from all corners. We look around us at those closest who desired our demise and note their worlds are the ones in complete turmoil and unrest while despite our problems and even internal threats and challenges we will persevere and meet the challenges and mitigate the threats, both internal and external, and continue to discover and develop the needs and items for the future of mankind and eventually Hashem will allow us to be rewarded with the arrival of the Messiah, the rewarding time we currently can only dream about as there is more we need to conquer in ourselves before we would even recognize and follow our Messiah should the Messiah arrive tomorrow; bless Hashem.

And we did not even get to mention France, the European Union and at least a dozen others willing to give away all of Israel so they will be eaten last.
