Liberal and Conservative Redefined

 

The demonstrations, some claim rioting, over the election these last couple of days has pointed to the need to redefine the “New Age” definitions of a Liberal and a Conservative. For those residing in Europe during World War II, they got a taste of these definitions though then they were referred to by the more accurate titles of Fascists and those fighting for Freedom. Let us first understand that the modern use of these two terms have literally nothing to do with their original meanings and those who continue to use the classical definition of Liberal as open to change and Conservative as against the new and the changes it brings may feel cheated and offended. We apologize, but the evidence is out there on the streets calling for horrific responses to the result of the election, responses that traditional Liberals and Conservatives would and are appalled by and rightly so. The one thing that is constant in politics more than almost anywhere else is change, particularly in definitions.

 

The new definitions are as follows:

Liberal = liberation of the stuffy limitations of classical Judeo-Christian ethos of right and wrong. The new right and wrong is ‘Me right and You wrong, period, end of discussion.’

Conservative = protect and apply the Judeo-Christian ethics to society as any other societal model is heathen and immorally dangerous.

 

The definition for Conservative probably needs some deeper and more specific terminology but the Conservatives today include many of the former Liberals who believed in “fair play” and that when your opponents won the election you sought a more pleasing candidate and did some soul-searching to see where your side may have had deficiencies. Not under the new instant gratification crowd who probably have difficulty in figuring out why death means dead and not simply make a new character or use a resurrection scroll or start the game over with full life and ammo. We are being a tad facetious but this is the definitions the new left was raised with and were never denied being a winner as everybody gets the same size trophy which says “participant” or other empty descriptor on the base and all were cheered equally. These are the people who never kept score and the sides changed after everybody batted once. Some have never run the bases and stealing a base today would be tantamount to cheating, after all it is called stealing. These were people who saw no problem with there being no gender allotted to the class prom King and Queen as it all depended on how you defined yourself and there is no actual reality and being made in the image of the Creator is simply so “then” as to be ludicrous. The definitions have all changed and the only definitions which matter are the ones held by each individual and as long as you defined yourself with the proper “needs” specialty, then you were welcome but if you chose to be what used to be called normal or sane, then you had a problem and were the outcast.

 

There was a definition of evil and it was White, Straight and Male. Well, perhaps the White, Straight and Male should describe themselves in terminology these new Liberals could possibly accept, they are just Lesbian Women trapped in a Man’s body. I can hear the gasps and the anger already as obviously this is going too far as one is not permitted to mock these new liberators of peoplehood; mankind or humanity are no longer permitted as they have that evil “man” syllable within. OK, it’s to the reeducation camp for me as I am truly a troglodyte, a Morlock in an Eloi world. The new Liberals see themselves as the Eloi and see the previous generations and those with traditional values as the Morlock with one major difference, when the sirens blare today it is the Morlocks who are to march to their deaths at the hands of the Eloi. Their definitions are so in need of being shown the errors that it is bordering on sad.

There are going to be problems defining and understanding what is the reality from moment to moment as visions of past, present and future change as “newthink” will demand with redefined terms and the rewritten history changing all as it is fluid and easily diverted in any direction as the needs arise and where nothing is true which cannot be altered to fit the next trend. We were always had been and were at war with Eurasia until it became we were always having been at war with Eastasia but we were always right because we were citizens of Oceania and were ruled by Big Brother who was infallible. War was a constant and those who desired change would eventually be driven into the resistance which, oddly enough, was also run by the government so as to give people a perceived way out when all it did was find those needing reeducation. In the end one could only end up with one outlook, to love Big Brother and hate the leader of the Revolution who was jeered during the daily exercise of the Two Minutes Hate, Emmanuel Goldstein.

Just to keep this confusing we may as well jump to the next novel which is likely also not taught in today’s school as thinking is not encouraged, only obedience to the new truths and morals of special compensations. Soon enough society will produce exactly the distribution of workers genetically modified for their specific tasks in the society with mental abilities and training (programming) such that their assigned work will be found eminently satisfying and after work they will mingle within their caste and use the legally proscribed drugs and engage in the only thing which matters other than work, pleasure. Everybody will be sterilized and natural birth made illegal as it introduces variables and society must be ordered thus variables are unacceptable. The population must be kept in balance and all want eliminated as each type or caste of individuals will only find others of their caste attractive and only the elite will be permitted free thought as they are the scientists and the directors of the bureaucracy which controls society. There will be those for whom these ways are too restrictive and who might seek to have children of their own and thus sneak to find ways around the contraceptives demanded to be taken daily. These people are dangerous and excommunicated to an island or sent to the reservations where people live in horrific standards where there are variables and people are born naturally. Such is unacceptable in proper society though the savages do present an amusement for those who reside in the perfect world.

 

How much longer before all these horrors become true? How far into the future will society continue before we live in a 1984 style Brave New World? After that, how long before we split into two separate offshoots of humanity, the Eloi and the Morlock? These are the eventual results of the current path. Love of Big Brother, big, all-controlling, all-consuming, all-powerful governance which births different castes of peoples as needed and dictates every inch of life with universal surveillance using computers to monitor your every mood detecting the slightest deviations which will get one placed in reeducation or deported into the wilds of the Reservation unless the deviant is an Alpha who are sent to a special island where they live, reproduce and varieties of offspring are tolerated, even loved and treasured. A society where deviance is not permitted just as electing the wrong candidate apparently is not to be permitted by the programed youth today. No, all the youth are not infected and resisted the reeducation camps which pass for schools in most major leftist run cities and their suburbs. These will hopefully be the leaders who take mankind, yes; we used the “man” syllable, into a more promising future where everyone is not their own special basket case requiring special treatment by the government in order to survive.

 

Big Brother is Always Watching

 

Perhaps instead the future will have individuals as members of “peoplekind” and all real thinking and productive actions will need be automated and people will need to be “special” and entertaining so that their keepers, the AI robots will have them as their pets. Perhaps that will be the novel we will all live, a world where the robotic lifeforms control the “peoplekind” in much the same way as we keep cats, dogs and other pets. Start working on that adorable puppy eye thing you do when you want a treat, it might become necessary to survive. Whatever you do, never let on you are capable of independent thought as that is to be squelched as who knows where such might lead. Any variance from groupthink will be punished and if persisted will be dealt with in a severe manner resulting in sitting all day drinking sweet tea or coffee at the corner coffee and tea shop watching the television broadcast and every time his image appears you will be heard if one listens closely to murmur, “I love Big Brother,” then returning to your coffee or tea and maybe even taking a small bite of your buttered croissant.

The Hillary Clinton Harrowed Conundrum

 

There has been near constant accusations and bloviating all about Donald Trump’s presumed short fuse. These attacks have come furious and provokingly and these are being used as chum in the water for the mainstream media to feast on; and believe us they have been coordinating and laying aside above the fold for every leading news-story; or should we say political editorial. These salacious assaults on Donald Trump would be far more convincing and less conniving if they were to include even a hint on Hillary Clinton’s short fuse and ill-tempered side which were a driving force behind much of what has displayed her being ill-fit to be the President of the most powerful nation on the planet. When Donald Trump has an emotional outburst, his response is verbal and short-lived. Hillary Clinton is known to carry forth for the remainder of life, hers or her newly acquired target. When Bill Clinton lost his reelection election she famously called the Christian Campaign Manager a “F—-g Jew B——d.” She became the wounded warrior and claimed that a “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” was behind the accusations of sexual misconduct of her husband. Beyond that, Hillary took charge of the intimidation, belittling, slandering, character assassination, media control, story massaging and sundry miscellaneous attacks targeting any and all allegations and accusations against Bill Clinton thus assuring that no more women, or bimbos as the White House labeled those coming forward, would be coming up with any additional accusations or verifications against the President. This was a well-coordinated assault just as well planned and executed as was the campaign to get out the vote except this was a suppress the evidence effort.

 

Hillary Clinton on the Prowl for Voters

 

If this was the extent of Hillary Clinton perfidy, there would be little evidence of her unsuitability for the office of President of the United States. Hillary claims how she has always been so transparent in all her actions that the public can trust that all her actions will be entirely open and able to be monitored by all who are interested. Apparently Hillary Clinton has completely forgotten her efforts at designing her own version of a healthcare system. Her committee contained some of the best minds in the progressive movement plus the fly in the ointment, Hillary Clinton. The public was left in the dark. Congress was left in the dark. The media, including the leftist media, was left guessing, being fed tempting morsels but actually only gristle and no red meat. The universe was led on the merry path of flowers and unicorns with all the wonderful reports of total free coverage with almost no additional costs. Perhaps the promises of everything for nothing proved to be the straw that broke the healthcare back. When Hillary Clinton and companies’ plan was presented to Congress, even the democrat faithful headed for the hills escaping as fast as they could. Her produced healthcare plan was such a monstrous and unwieldly conglomeration of regulations, legal demands, meticulous record keeping and required filings with the Federal Government that all who read the plan were flabbergasted. Commentary from numerous sources inside and outside, but close to the manners in which the plan was hatched, told of Hillary Clinton riding roughshod over all contrary opinions doing exactly as she thought best. This kind of leadership, totalitarian leadership, had actually driven a number of leading surgeons and physicians from participating or even signing the plan sent to Congress. They told of fiery outbreaks replete with profanity at some of the mildest of suggestions or alternative proposals where Hillary Clinton appeared to have lost all sense of reason.

 

Finally, there were numerous reports and even complaints filed against Hillary Clinton for abusive language, abusive treatment, violent outbursts and some workers fearing for their safety. These complaints and requests for transfer or alternate position from people who had nearly a lifetime of service climbing to reach a White House assignment and to then risk never making it back to their former privileged position was an acceptable sacrifice to be rid of Hillary Clinton. All of these point to Hillary Clinton not only having an explosive temper but also a short fuse with a vengefully long memory. Such was a temperament of throwing items, oft of value, for periods as long lasting as an entire day and even lasting through the next day or beyond as well. Some who have been found to get on the wrong side of Hillary Clinton have related that despite attempts to settle their differences or even apologize have failed dashed on the craggy cliffs which make up the beach at shoreline Clinton. Hillary Clinton has proven herself to be a person with a malleable core where beliefs come to die especially after receiving poor poll ratings. Taking the sum of these parts produces a picture of an unbalanced individual whose coworkers fear working anywhere near her spheres of influence.

 

Many have spoken similarly of Donald Trump, but from most appearances his tantrums have been largely bluster with little threat of physical violence, at least before the October Surprise of crass claims of sexual violence. Given the claims of violent actions, we would feel safer with a Donald Trump Presidency than a Hillary Clinton Presidency. Unfortunately, elections remain out by three weeks and it is still anybody’s election to win or lose. Donald Trump will be facing sexual harassment charges most of which are likely people coming forth for their moment of fame. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is facing a truly deep character fault which will have a direct effect on her Presidency. As to which one is most likely to get the United States embroiled into a war, it would be Hillary Clinton with her establishment of a “No Fly Zone” probably on Aleppo could escalate with the downing of a Russian fighter jet leading to a direct confrontation. That is but a single potential point of contention where a single miscalculation could lead to great problems soon thereafter. That alone is food for thought.

A Chance America Riding Off Into the Sunset

 

There has been speculation about what role the United States will play on the world’s stage as threats abound of various severities and natures almost everywhere one looks and still we hear from United States President Obama that he awaits final strategy and complete plans laid out before him from the Pentagon before he can act. This excuse from President Obama for not committing to some plan of action sounds unrealistic, especially as it is well known even personally after having served in the United States Army, the Pentagon has plans, War Scenarios, for near any contingency which might arise. This makes President Obama’s excuse of not having any plans before him sound quite lame. Even had the Pentagon not had an exact battle plan in place when ISIS first reared their ugly heads and started chopping heads, especially since some belonged to the United States, you can bet the Pentagon went to their files and had cobbled together six ways come Sunday for dealing with ISIS which probably had added contingencies for removing Bashir al-Assad from power and potentially addressing the Iranian nuclear issue as well. The one thing is, they were not short of was plans. The only thing necessary would be for the President to choose one and they would be implementing within forty-eight hours. Each set of plans would have in the full layout exactly which units were trained for that exact mission and which of those units was at full strength and had a ready status. They would have decided whether or not to use the ready actions units of which at least two brigades of Army would be on immediate deployment status and I can assume the Marines, Navy and Air Force have similar plans for immediate response to any call up.

 

We can trust the Pentagon has plans and that all the President need do is pick up that phone he claims he could use to call for action if Congress did not pass his legislation in a timely manner and instead call the Pentagon and request their actions and plans be presented. Then he could pick up that pen with which he threatened Congress to use to write Executive Orders and use it to sign off on a plan of action and then write an Executive Memo to the leaders in Congress informing them of the impending actions and the Pentagon would take care of the rest. There is one contingency for which the Pentagon likely has plans but would be unable to implement them until the President ordered them to follow and support somebody else’s initiation of actions. That is President Obama’s famous plan of leading from behind, better known as following which often is the action of those too cowardly to commit to actions and stick their neck out, something which would be risky against ISIS but the President can go ahead and stick his neck out, the military would be out in front and would do or die even knowing that in the end the President would claim the glory, after all he took out Osama bin Laden haven’t you heard. Leading from behind is not an option on this crisis but President Obama is not one to make definitive decisions which might have him owning his actions. President Obama would rather simply follow and take only that action was dictated by somebody else, the United Nations, the European Union, NATO led by another member, actually President Obama would follow anybody, well, anybody but Israel. Were Israel to engage ISIS, it would not be a complete surprise if President Obama gave weapons to ISIS through some obscure middleman leader of another nation who might be supportive of ISIS though doing so would be risky. But until somebody else takes the lead we can expect more excuses over action from the White House.

 

One wonders if President Obama has even requested the Pentagon produce their plans for dealing with ISIS and said plans actually called for the United States to sit this round out. We can figure that the United States is loath to send troops back into Iraq after being pulled out by President Obama in a manner that military planners had informed the President was a premature action which would cause more problems than it could solve. The one problem leaving a residual force would not have addressed was President Obama winning reelection on his promise to bring our boys home come something (keeping it family friendly) or high water. The Pentagon may have been requested to provide plans which would include supporting UN or EU or NATO action taken to facilitate leading from behind at which time the Pentagon action would most likely be exactly what we are seeing, doing nothing waiting for somebody else to take the initiative so they could follow thus leading from behind again allowing President Obama to risk nothing which actually making a choice and lead would mean. But this begs a question; what happens if the United States is about to return to her historic role of isolationism where the United States trades with her friends and with her enemies but on a lesser scale and dares not interfere in worldly matters allowing them to work themselves out without United States interventions. United States entering an isolationist perspective would only allow her deployment of troops to be limited and almost always to support trade more than worrying about such trivialities as world balance and defeating evil, that’s better left to the knights of Europe who have always done this before. Of course this before was before the United States encouraged Europe to stop their militarism and that the United States would spread her umbrella and cover them so they could turn to less harmful pursuits such as taking on debt and squabbling amongst each other, just this time no world wars starting in Europe, that was the deal the United States imposed on Europe. But now it appears the United States may be folding up that umbrella and claiming not to see the storm clouds rising out of the Middle East, a denial which is difficult to swallow.

 

The going theory is that the United States will return to the role of the world’s police and enforce the good behavior between the nations extending force projection where needed. That is not the historic tendency of the United States after any major conflicts; her historic stance has been a laissez-faire attitude of simple sitting back keeping her hands politely to herself, which is the norm from the United States. The average American knows little about world affairs and cares even less. The average American was defined by President Clinton in his initial campaign for the Presidency with his slogan, “It’s the economy, stupid.” The stupid in this case was George Herbert Walker Bush (the elder and first Pres Bush) and the elections proved it as President Bush did not gain reelection largely due to his having broken his promise of, “Read my lips; no new taxes,” and then was forced to raise taxes by a Democrat Congress in order to get his budget passed with the military spending not slashed by the Congress. The election of President Clinton over reelecting President Bush was all about domestic policies over foreign policies.

 

You start to talk about foreign policy with the average American and their eyes gloss over and they drift into some zombie like state all catatonic and in shock after the first two or three sentences. Talk about immigration, taxes, domestic hot-button issues, government spending of which all is unnecessary except those they are or will receive, and the economy then you will engage in a sometimes heated debate. Talk about money and they will listen, talk about something happening in the Mille East or Asia and they will repeat what the media stated, that is bad, that is good and those people sure have as rough time, but then they will turn it back to how the government needs to take care of things at home first. The average American has all the sympathy you could ever ask for and they will donate more to charities than any other peoples on earth but when it comes to sending their young men off to fight in what they mostly see as somebody else’s war, then they need a ton of convincing and President Obama surfs waves, seldom makes waves when it comes to world politics. The President came from a past as a community organizer, read rabble rouser causing trouble to force government actions usually spending more money of which they get the lion’s share, and knows little outside of Chicago, let alone outside of the United States. He treats foreign policy as if it was a plague and to his outlook, as well as many Americans outlooks, simply does not go past the horizon and possibly not past the water’s edge.

 

We can bet that should the Democrat candidate become the next President, they too will do little as they can in foreign policy. We need remember that the Democrat candidate will not likely be Hillary Clinton but more likely somebody not even announced as of yet. Ms. Clinton’s campaign van has the wheels flying off and the engine is about to quit. The van is driving down the road to oblivion. But what if it is the Republican candidate, you inquire. There we need to find out who will take the lead and which ones do not survive the first three or four actual primary votes. We can make some specific and general observations. Rand Paul is an isolationist libertarian who believes if the United States hurts nobody then nobody would target the United States. Of all the governors and ex-governors running, only Jeb Bush might be a President inclined to use military force and actually have an active foreign policy. Others have claimed that they will repair the United States relations with Israel as well as Egypt and Saudi Arabia largely undoing some of the changes made under President Obama. Still, such actions do not necessarily mean a return into Iraq to defeat ISIS unless it becomes a dire threat to the stability of the Middle East. Only Senator Marco Rubio has direct experience with foreign policies as he in on the Senate Intelligence Committee which gives him access beyond the average Senator under the need to know doctrines. Almost any Republican candidate becoming President would easily take four months to a year to become fully briefed on every hot-spot that the Pentagon had plans and counter plans and different options under each plan and time granted each. Such amounts of information is why the President has a Secretary of Defense whose staff is divided so they can divide their work and attend to each contingencies. Still, the final decisions and person who must form the overall foreign police and who has to call in the troops for action when deemed to be necessary lies with the President and the President alone. That is one of the reason it is said that it is lonely at the top. We still have no real available input that any of the Republican candidates would press for an interventionist approach to foreign policies.

 

Likely the most pressing foreign policy might already have their hands tied should President Obama make any Iran nuclear deal somehow into a treaty without gaining Congressional affirmation. Such a decade long deal would actually prevent the next administration from taking any actions without smoking gun style proof that Iran had broken the agreement but as the agreement includes steps all the way through twelve years with little margin for change in the terms or even the terminology during that time period with the Iranians presumably free to complete their desired goal of deliverable nuclear warheads and the ICBMs on which to place them after ten years according to President Obama’s own admission which would leave them at a minimum two years to produce as many weapons systems as they are able starting with an unknown amount of LEU (low enrichment Uranium) with which to work and all of that Uranium a simple two day’s processing to be made weapons grade HEU (highly enriched Uranium over 90% purity) and then they would be capable of molding the cores and producing actual weapons. All of this is a guess of what the eventual agreement will appear to say and Iranian compliance to the terms and inspection protocols as well as their answering numerous questions about previous work performed largely by the military which Iran insists is an unprecedented and unnecessary invasion of their privileges and privacies. So, when it comes to the Iranian nuclear program the next President may be acting with his hands tied and possibly looking at a negative response from a nuclear armed Iran claiming their dominion over Iraq and dismissing the need for United States interference in their area of control which they will claim includes Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and who knows where else by January 21, 2017 when the next President takes office. After Iran there will be other situations such as Russia and their low-grade war with the Ukraine and its possibilities, China and their expansion Islands being built and potentially taking territorial control semi-legally over the entire South China Sea giving them control over one of the most active shipping lanes in the world. Speaking of choke points for shipping, Iran already has menacing control over the Straits of Hormuz where almost one third of the world’s oil is shipped by tankers and may through their proxies in Yemen, Houthis can also threaten to control the Bab-el-Mandeb which would cut off the southern exit of the Red Sea making the Suez Canal unusable and the Israeli southern port to the orient and Africa blockaded, a casus belli which could lead to a state of declared war by Iran on Israel and Egypt as both would have their shipping access to the world impeded illegally as Iran would have no other excuse other than they could close all shipping. These are just the top three and none of these includes the ISIS threat which may grow to the point where Iran and ISIS meet on equal footing with ISIS having gained an Air Force even if of a limited nature, and tactics which are prone to working, at least working well against the Iraqi army. ISIS has had far less success against the Kurdish Militias such as the Peshmerga (literally “one who confronts death”) and the People’s Protection Units (known as the YPG). These have held the northeast parts of Syria having an astonishing turning point in the city of Kobanê as well as the northern third or so of Iraq where the Kurdish forces saved thousands of Yazidi and whose Yazidi Militias have joined ranks with the Kurdish Militias. We could continue to the other continents and their probabilities for causing distress but that would leave Antarctica as probably the only safe haven if you desired no strife, or at least not yet.
