The blessing of the Israeli election being called early is that it truncates the electioneering to a short few months which is a very short time frame especially if the party plans on having a primary to determine their roster of candidates and their order which can be very important as nobody wants to be the person occupying the roster position one or two positions higher than the number of mandates garnered by their party. Such was the case in one of the primaries where a recount made the difference placing one candidate likely beyond electable position and in their place within reasonable expectations the person who otherwise would have occupied the cold seat beyond expectations. The brevity also allows for parties to misrepresent their positions and makes it difficult for the opposing parties to reveal and lay out the truth about their opponent’s positions and the ramifications of such. This has led to some strange situations where the nationalist parties have stressed security and a strong stance against Iran and Arab terrorism with the religious Zionist parties stressing retaining every inch of what is defined as the lands for the Jewish State and they are very firm on this point. At the leftist end of the spectrum we hear that the claims that Iran is a threat and terrorism is a major threat are simply ploys trying to scare the electorate into voting for the right wing and national Zionist parties. The leftists claim that what is the central point is that Prime Minister Netanyahu has been responsible for much of the terrorism and the threat from Iran is overblown as United States President Obama has stated he will prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons through the P5+1 Iranian negotiations and that the speech that Prime Minister Netanyahu gave to the United States Congress was simply just electioneering and grandstanding and held no resemblance to reality. They claim that the real challenge to Israelis are the high cost of living and the lack of the Knesset under Netanyahu had ignored the central issues of adequate and affordable housing, acceptance of same-sex marriage, lower food prices and a plethora of social issues pertaining to family cost of living, single parent homes, rights for non-Jews, and the pursuit of a respectful peace through the two states for two peoples framework. The left claim that they are needed so as to repair the relations with the United States, particularly with the White House as Prime Minister Netanyahu has alienated the relations with the President and strained relations with the United States to the breaking point and they know they can work with President Obama and together they will be able to reach a peace with the Arabs which will provide peace and an end to terrorism.

Never mind reality, we are talking about elections which are often removed from reality. The perception is that the two sides of the political spectrum not only hold different and even diametrically opposing views, they cannot even admit to each other the definitions of the problems facing Israel. The right sees threats on almost every front while the left sees mainly domestic threats. The right claims Israel must retain as much if not all of the lands of Judea and Samaria and definitely a unified Jerusalem. The left claims that by surrendering all of the lands beyond the Green Line including the eastern half of Jerusalem that there will be no change to traveling to visit the wall as there will be peace and thus an end to terrorism. Iran does not even appear on the leftist shopping list of problems while same-sex marriage and minority rights are nowhere to be seen on the rightist, nationalist agenda. Obviously both parties cannot be right and it will not be easy for the average voter who has not been all that attentive to the world situation and politics to discern which side is correct in identifying the problems before the Election Day arrives and they must vote. This is where the media has been less than forthright in their coverage of the elections. The media has ridiculed and been disparaging treating the claims from the nationalists who identify keeping a hardline approach to negotiating with the Arabs and not surrendering additional lands and are very wary of the nuclear program in Iran and the threat a nuclear armed Iran would pose not just to Israel but the world and the rest of the Middle East. The most egregious adventurism has been the cooperation and unified front being presented by President Obama, the European political elite and the world leftist dominated media in mocking the nationalists as alarmists and painting a picture of the world as being peaceful and not full of threats against the nations of Israel portraying the most pressing problems in Israel to be identified step for step in sync with the leftist agenda.

This plotting gets worse because the average voter does not have the time to research deeply into the problems of the times and easily is confronted with monthly bills, food prices, petrol prices, traffic delays and the plethora of problems in day-to-day living and they do not have the time to assess the world scene so they rely on the media for such information. As an example of the media slant one need look no further than the coverage given Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech before a joint session of the United States Congress. Nearly all the coverage quoted Minority Leader of the House Nancy Pelosi’s comments, “insult to the intelligence of the United States,” and it had her “near tears” through most of the speech. For the sake of repetition and in case you missed it; here is the entirety of Ms. Pelosi’s official statement,

The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests. Ours is a deep and abiding friendship that will always reach beyond party. Americans stand shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli people. The state of Israel stands as the greatest political achievement of the 20th century, and the United States will always have an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security.

That is why, as one who values the U.S. – Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.

Today, Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated something we all agree upon: a nuclear armed Iran is unacceptable to both our countries. We have all said that a bad deal is worse than no deal, and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons is the bedrock of our foreign policy and national security. As President Obama has said consistently, all options are on the table for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran.

This was very likely the most covered commentary on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s historic speech to the United States Congress. It also provided so many notable quotables that the media had a field-day choosing what each writer felt were the most damning words. But there were also the criticisms from President Obama who had some very specific complaints of the speech for somebody who attested that they did not see the speech but had perused a summary given before the speech of what Prime Minister Netanyahu would say. President Obama went to great lengths to insist that the choice presented by Netanyahu was between the deal which the President assured all was an excellent deal in the makings or war. Netanyahu’s alternative to the peace being sought by the P5+1 with Iran was war. The Prime Minister added nothing new to the conversations and his alternative was war. This last assessment is probably the closes to being factually accurate but still suffers from the greatest lie put out from the White House, namely that Netanyahu was proposing to go to war with Iran. Even before the speech President Obama was casting aspersions on the coming speech claiming it would offer nothing new, simply that the Prime Minister would claim that the peace being negotiated was inadequate and a bad deal and that war was necessary to stop Iran. The war claim was also omnipresent despite it being a completely false claim. What Prime Minister did say concerning war were the following quotes,

To defeat ISIS and let Iran get nuclear weapons would be to win the battle, but lose the war. We can’t let that happen.

This deal won’t be a farewell to arms. It would be a farewell to arms control. And the Middle East would soon be crisscrossed by nuclear tripwires. A region where small skirmishes can trigger big wars would turn into a nuclear tinderbox.

Now we’re being told that the only alternative to this bad deal is war. That’s just not true. The alternative to this bad deal is a much better deal.
Ladies and gentlemen, history has placed us at a fateful crossroads. We must now choose between two paths. One path leads to a bad deal that will at best curtail Iran’s nuclear ambitions for a while, but it will inexorably lead to a nuclear-armed Iran whose unbridled aggression will inevitably lead to war. The second path, however difficult, could lead to a much better deal, that would prevent a nuclear-armed Iran, a nuclearized Middle East and the horrific consequences of both to all of humanity.

Notable in these quotes is that in none of them does the Prime Minister expect or even desire that the alternative be war, he precisely stated the opposite when he proposed that the alternative should be a better deal. This was his comment which flat laid it out where he stated, “Now we’re being told that the only alternative to this bad deal is war. That’s just not true. The alternative to this bad deal is a much better deal.” His stand was definitely against war but instead he spelled out using the same sanctions which were used originally to bring Iran to the table in the first place, the same sanctions President Obama is so overtly anxious to lift off of Iran having removed many of them during secret talks held without even informing the other members of the P5+1 group which are France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany. History will note should a nuclear exchange emanate from the Middle East either between Middle Eastern and North African nations or launched in a first strike from within the Middle East on Europe or the United States or Canada that the situation was due to the releasing Iran from the economic sanctions without having first attaining a stronger deal that the agreement reached and that Prime Minister of Israel Netanyahu had warned that the sanctions needed to be reapplied and a far better deal needed to be the goal,

One might expect the above to be all over the media in Israel. It is almost nowhere to be found, especially not in the television or radio news or even in the majority of the print media. There are a few journalist and editorialists sprinkled throughout the print media such as Caroline Glick at the Jerusalem Post who give the nationalist news makers the recognition they deserve but are rarely mentioned by such as Haaretz, probably one of the iconic names in news around the world as it has an English edition which is politically right in line with the leftist Jewish audiences in Europe and the United States where it is almost considered the official representation of the news that is news. Instead you find every negative story imaginable against Netanyahu and favorably slanted coverage of Yitzhak Hertzog and little mention of Tzipi Livni as her name has polled as negative influence and that Hertzog is far more acceptable to the Israeli public thus Tzipi is ignored despite the rumors that she will be Prime Minister the first two years and Hertzog the last two years if there is still an Israel left to govern. There are now a mere five days until the elections.

The most unbelievable news which should be spread across the top of every news source in Israel, we will see today what coverage this gets, is the statement from the Palestinian Authority that they were arresting as many Hamas operatives in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) as they could find in order to prevent any attacks between now and the elections so that the people will be more inclined to vote for Hertzog and Livni than for Netanyahu and the nationalists. It has also been reported, unsurprisingly, that the Arab leadership is already salivating over having Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog as Prime Minister of Israel. The descriptions given of the two candidates qualifications they most profoundly admired were also revealing. They claimed that Tzipi Livni was responsible for the terms in the 1701 peace accord which was to be enforced by UNIFIL forces in Lebanon and the terms in this agreement were so lenient and poorly written that instead of preventing Hezballah rebuilding their positions and rearming, it had allowed Hezballah to rebuild, add onto their bunker and tunnel networks and resupply and add to their rocket arsenal increasing it twenty fold and also being allowed to gain longer range rockets and even some guided missiles which now enable Hezballah to strike all of Israel and to target reliably targets in central Tel Aviv and the Dimona complex in the Negev regions. And as far as Yitzhak Hertzog their assessment is that he is a weak and timid person who will be easily pushed and shoved into making weak deals which will provide the Arabs with the advantage in any dealings. The Arabs also note that both Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog have stated that they plan on repairing relations with the White House and forming an alliance with President Obama and using his guidance to seek a pathway to peace with the Arab Authority and pursue the two state solution stipulated in the Oslo Accords. They are expected to bring great rewards and potentially the downfall of Israel should they be elected and chosen to lead Israel. It is towards this end that all terror operations have been stifled and placed on hold until after the election so as to give the appearance that terrorism is over and the situation is ripe to make sacrifices for peace and that is the reasoning behind this quiet lull Israel is experiencing. Of course that is unless one decides to go up onto the Temple Mount. Enter the Temple Mount and the truth becomes evident, but that is of little matter as so few will enter the Temple Mount and those who do will not vote in a manner conducive to the Arab aims for the destruction of Israel once they gain all of Judea and Samaria and hold the high grounds overlooking the heart of Israel, a heart they intend to pierce with the same rockets which have made Sderot into a ghost town during the last war with Hamas in Gaza, that will be the fate of Tel Aviv and its surrounding suburbs from Ashdod to Netanya. Will five days be long enough or will Israel once again learn the hard way that Never Again was more than a polite phrase to be chanted at rallies and otherwise forgotten.

World Enters Save Hamas from Israeli Annihilation Mode

This is the scenario that many have been fearing would come to be during President Obama’s time in the White House. Mind you, George W. Bush was no better and there really has not been a United States President which understood the situation in which Israel exists nor appreciated the frailty and vulnerability of the Israeli position. This lack of understanding was framed perfectly when George W. Bush visited Israel the first time while he was governor of Texas and when given a sky high look at Israel in an IDF helicopter responded to the commentary by the IDF General who pointed out that they had just flown over the narrow section of Israel which before the Six Day War, Israel was a mere nine miles wide, “In Texas, some of our driveways are longer than that.” In every war which Israel had defended her right to exist, regardless the enemy or how many nations and fronts Israel was forced to fight, as soon as Israel had gained the upper hand or appeared poised to make and solidify actual gains and make changes necessary for Israeli existence, the world enters a mode to save Israel’s enemies from reaping the destruction their aggressive attacks had brought upon them. After the Israeli responses to belligerent and hostile actions and stated threat of annihilation and of being “driven into the sea” in the June 1967 Six Day War and the October 1973 Yom Kippur War when Israel had turned the tide of battle and went on the offensive and was approaching Cairo as she was in 1973 or preparing to cross the Suez Canal as was the case in 1967 or driving on Damascus as was the case in both wars; then the world including the United States demanded and threatened all forms of retributions should Israel not heed the demands for them to cease winning and retreat from the line of battle and surrender lands and critical areas gained at great cost. After the Six Day War the United Nations issued Security Council Resolution 242 which insisted that despite being the defending nation and having responded to numerous casus-belli and legally having gained territory which under international law Israel was entitled to retain, Israel was tasked to return lands from amongst those she had gained in exchange for peace. In other words, Israel was made to sue for peace by offering the defeated aggressor nations land begging them to grant her peace. In any similar situation with the nation turning the tables and gaining territory from a defensive war that nation would be permitted to retain those lands and even evict the citizens of the defeated nation from those lands. This was definitely the case after World War II where sections of previous German territory were ceded to France and Poland as a form of retribution for damages and hardships caused by the war. In that same war the Soviet Union retained iron fisted control over virtually all of Eastern Europe all the way to the fall of the Soviet Union. The demand that Israel return portions but not necessarily all of the land after the Six Day War has been slowly redefined with copious amounts of assistance from Arab propaganda to the point where Israel is now facing demands that she surrender every inch of lands gained and who knows what else in the future.

Now Israel is poised to deal Hamas a serious, if not fatal, blow and destroy much of their terrorist infrastructure including their rocket factories, smuggling tunnels and the tunnels they plan to utilize for abducting Israeli soldiers or civilians; the world is starting their howling for the Israelis to stop and end the horrors. You might ask what horrors. Well, the horrors that the world has witnessed by watching the YouTube and seeing the videos showing the massive destructions resulting from the Israeli assaults. Just to assist your knowledge about how one need be careful when believing these deceptive videos, here is a link to the BBC commentary about them which even gives examples showing their current use to claim this was taken in Gaza just this past day or so and then revealing their actual origins which include pictures from the Syrian civil war and from bombings in Iraq by al-Qaeda and others. Despite the BBC debunking, these pictures of horrific violence and damages will be touted even in government and NGO offices and used to claim that Israel is committing borderline utter and total destruction. The Security Council has already called for a ceasefire urging Israel and Hamas to respect “international humanitarian laws” and stop the loss of life. The Council expressed “serious concern” over the “protection and welfare of civilians on both sides which is more than they said during the kidnapping and three week search for the Israeli teens and the accompanying steadily increased rocket and mortar firings into Israeli civilian populations from within densely populated regions of Gaza including adjacent to schools, hospitals, mosques and within market places. President Obama has insisted from the very first day that Israel cease their hostilities and allow him to use his office and influence to arrange a ceasefire. Apparently Israel has wisely ignored his demands for whatever reasons. Our belief is they have seen the results of President Obama when negotiating and figured they would get a better deal if they could just get President Obama to represent Hamas in any peace talks. Russian President Putin took some time off from reconstituting the new Russian hegemony to call Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and demand he heed the warnings and cease all belligerence against Hamas and the other Palestinian organizations, also known as terrorist groups, immediately of face harsh and difficult times as the entire world would turn against Israel. Also calling to give their backing for Israel to be a wet jellyfish and just go completely soft and cease their efforts to destroy Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Palestinian Revolutionary Council (PRC), al-Qaeda in Gaza, ISIS, People for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the other lesser known terrorist entities and make whatever sacrifices which may be necessary to make peace were British Prime Minister Cameron, French President Hollande and German Chancellor Merkel. Then there are the foreign and domestic leftist NGOs who always condemn Israel first, last and foremost. The reason these cries of pity and have mercy for mercy’s sake are not being as effective and mostly ignored is because this time the game has changed and changed drastically.

The new game has nothing to do with the weapons available to Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the rest as they have had these various weapons for some time now. The difference is that now Hamas and the rest are using these longer ranged rockets to strike at the heart of Israel including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, and the central plains. Israeli society cannot survive if Hamas is allowed to indiscriminately fire rockets even at a rate of once or twice a week into these areas. The targets are no longer just Sderot and some kibbutzim, the targets now are the heart of Israel and include many powerful and influential people. Is this a horrible condemnation on Israel that she would accept Hamas et al to target Sderot which is a fairly small and moderately priced community along with the few kibbutzim to absorb rockets and mortars from out of Gaza but as soon as North Tel Aviv, and there will be those who will claim this is the real and actual reason for the Israeli’s heavy response, where many wealthy, connected, and financially and societally influential citizens then Israel is willing to go out and defend the people. Whatever the reason for some of the more jaded people, it really is the fact that this threatens the entirety of Israeli economic areas and covers close to eighty percent of Israel with Hamas and Islamic Jihad striking close to Haifa in the north and easily reaching Jerusalem in the east and even overshooting Jerusalem last night and striking Bethlehem which is Palestinian Authority governed areas. That is what makes these situations different and posing threats unknown until these attacks.

In defense of Israel only responding when the center of the nations was threatened, Israel has gone into Gaza twice before when only Sderot and the kibbutzim were attacked, so Israel would and did respond to protect these areas as well. The difference is Israel realizes that this time she must not leave Hamas in a position to simply rearm and attempt to destroy Israel again. What the world refuses to realize is that the Palestinians do not particularly desire to defeat Israel to take her land; they simply want to destroy Israel and commit to a genocidal murdering of the Jews residing in Israel. When you realize that this is the end game desired by the leaders and members of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and despite protestations to the difference, also the desired goal for the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas, then you can see why they attack even knowing they cannot defeat Israel and risk bringing down an unholy assault unseen in modern times. This is also how Iran might use their nuclear weapon, in an effort to destroy Israel, not conquer it or liberate the area for the downtrodden Palestinians, just wanton destruction of the Jewish State so that they can claim to be the true leaders of Islam. It is because Hamas and Islamic Jihad have raised the stakes to threatening the end of Israel that Prime Minister Netanyahu must ignore the demands from around the world and finish this assault and completely devastate Hamas, Islamic Jihad and every single other terrorist groups or individual and leave the remaining Palestinians sufficiently fearful that they use stories about the summer of 2014 and how death struck those who dared defy Israel’s right to exist and how whenever they hear the deep-throated growls of military jets to remember that they bring with them the threat of death incarnate and the children learn to fear the sounds of those jets and the sounds of battle tanks rolling towards their town and never again give any thought to destroying Israel even if it is simply from abhorrent fears. Instead of filling the hearts of those in Gaza, the base of support for Hamas, Islamic Jihad et al, Israel continues to provide over seven tons, often more than twelve tons of food, medical supplies and even building supplies which are repurposed from building homes, hospitals, schools and water treatment plants to making rockets and digging smuggling tunnels and tunnels into Israel for sneak attacks and to abduct soldiers or civilians much like they abducted Gilad Shalit. What is even more perplexing is Israel has continued to provide supplies of water, electrical energy and fuels for the Gaza electrical generation unit in order to make the difficulty of the conflict less intrusive and striking panic by attempting to retain some degree of normalcy for the presumed innocent Palestinians. Does anyone for one minute think such actions would be taking place at all if the tables were turned and Israel was depending on Gaza, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria or anywhere else for her power and food needs? Of course not, that would be unthinkable.

Israel’s International Standing Dilemma

Israel’s dilemma stems directly from her representation in much of the world’s media, standing amongst political mainstream leaders, casting provided through innuendo and slight by numerous nongovernmental organizations, and her targeting worldwide by groups from almost every direction which produces a political propaganda of Israel as the cause of every ill in the world. Polls from numerous areas around the world have often named Israel as the nation causing the largest threat to world peace, the nation responsible for economic difficulties, the nation whose very existence should be questioned and who has become the recipient to replace the Jew as the reason that all societal ills and difficulties are now blamed. During the times of the great plagues sweeping through Europe it was the Jew who must have poisoned the well as after all, look, the Jews are not dying in sufficient numbers as the rest of society is dying. The Jewish survivability rate of course could not have anything to do with their religious dictates which demands a once every year cleansing of their homes of all leavened and their religious demands that they start each day washing their hands and continue to wash their bodies and hands numerous times per week if not per every day. During historic times of financial crisis, especially governmental financial crisis, it was often seen as the perfect solution to castigate the Jew as a hoarder of gold and precious things and an absconder of wealth having gained their wealth through trickery and theft and not have earned their monies and thus the one who must be forced to return their ill-gotten gains. When the political scene proved too difficult for those in power and a release had to be found, well the Jew is the alien amongst us, the one who is different in dress, manners and culture, the Jew is the other, the they who are responsible for our ills and the target that must be purged and scoured from the public body in order to save those of us who belong. The alien Jew must be driven from our midst. In today’s world the problems are endemic and universal and the need is for one nation, a singular and easily denigrated and loathed nation who has no obvious or historic claim to justify their existence. A nation who owes their very existence to the misplaced sympathies and which can be claimed to have come into the world as an apology which no longer is valid or must be accepted and recognized, an ill such as the Holocaust which is now fading from societal memory. Never mind that this promise is older than the nations who claim its fallacy. Never mind that the longing for the return to their ancient homelands has sustained the Jews for nearly two millennia. Just ignore the promises given from almost every nations from Britain to Japan, from the Arab leader King Faisal to the United States, from the very world body the League of Nations and reaffirmed under Article 80 of the United Nations Charter, never mind the reading from the holy books of the three Abrahamic religions all of which recognize the gift of these lands to the Jewish people (yes, even the Quran restates G0d’s promise to Abraham and affirms the rest of the covenant and its repeated statement as spoken to Isaac and realized and brought to fruition by Moses who set the final items in place, Torah, the law for a people and their society for all times). The hatred and bile of the world driven by their own malfeasance and ill thought through policies being reflected and deflected placed on the Jew amongst the nations, Israel. The sad reality is that many Israelis, as has been the case throughout the history of the Jewish People, actually buy into the disparaging aspersions and believe that Israel must make the world perfect in order to validate and permit her very own existence and that until the world has been perfected, Israel must bear the burden and take responsibility for the ills existent in even the most distant corners of the earth.

The strangest and most resented truth behind this reality is that throughout the history of the nations of the Jewish People, be it Israel, Judea, the Israelite Nation or simply the Hebrew’s homelands where the twelve tribes named for the sons of Jacob, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, took up residence and established their fiefdoms with the help and blessings of the L0rd, has a well-documented history which depicts this particular scenario of being the ones blamed for the ills of their neighboring nations or for those ills of every society within which they have ever been exiled throughout their history. There has not been a time in the history of the Jewish People where we have been universally accepted and more often we have been universally reviled. The times when the Jewish nation lived in harmony with their neighbors were limited to those times when the nation of the Jews was so powerful that fear that the Jewish People might turn their eyes towards any neighboring lands and their desire and lusts would overwhelm them and they would choose to take their neighbor’s lands. Except for the conquest over the Canaanite Tribes after the Exodus, the Jewish People have largely been satisfied to live within their boundaries as set forth in Torah. These jealousies and scapegoating throughout history are still evident today and are proof that mankind, while making unimaginable strides, discoveries, inventions and other marvels which make all appear to have changed almost beyond description or understanding, still harbors the same hatreds and spitefulness towards the Jewish People and their nation when it exists as they did when mankind was sacrificing their young to Baal, Baal the predatory monstrous belief system which held that if a child became burdensome the parents could simply offer the burdensome flesh as a sacrifice to Baal which would bring relief and renewed freedom to their lives once the burdensome flesh had been sacrificed and destroyed. The worship of Baal has not been lost and succumbed to progress; it has simply been transmogrified into a more modern worship where the human form and the freedoms to enjoy the pleasures of the flesh are of paramount importance and the right of every individual to take whatever necessities are required to lend to the continuance of their pursuit of maximizing their own pleasures without any consequences. The world has not changed anywhere near as much as we pretend.

The truth that many Israeli, politicians and citizen alike, needs to learn and realize its truth is that our nation has never been accepted amongst the community of nations. We must remember that even natural and historic enemies would ally simply to present a greater threat and to entertain the destruction of our nation. We must remember those times when we lived the exemplary lives making for an example of righteousness and respect for all of G0d’s creatures which allowed us with the blessings and great works of the L0rd our G0d to prevail against such enemies. We also need to heed the stories and truths of the consequences in not following Torah and the ways of the L0rd which led to our destruction and exiles until we again found our way returning to His ways and obedience to His laws. The times when we knew peace was due to our strength and our having the favor of the L0rd and not because the nations on our borders ever saw us or believed that we were simply wonderful and enviable people who should be given deference. Only our strength and ability to defeat any threat our neighbors could present against us was the sole reason for feigned friendship or the seeking of alliance and treaty. Whenever we appeared weak or in confused state driven by our own disunity were we defeated and made to feel the scorn of those nations surrounding us. Today the numbers of nations surrounding Israel has increased as every nation in this modern world is capable of making war against any other nation regardless of distance or remoteness. By our internal disputes and the making of them a political spectacle for all to witness we make of our nation and people a target of opportunity that is so large and obvious in its own dispute that it attracts enemies seeking a refuge for their ills and an excuse to feed their peoples. When Israel appears wrought throughout with discontent and disagreements the rest of the world sees a prime and acceptable target for their scorn and a place to sew their discontents. Only when Israel displays a unity and an oneness which has faith in the truth of her existence and the rightness of reason and goodness will we gain, if not the respect, the awe and fear of the world which forces their acceptance no matter how reluctant. When we appear disgruntled and guilty in our own rights and existence that prove that we question all and present an apologetically self-critical self-image, we present a target of opportunity that proves irresistible inviting scorn and attack. The relief is within our grasp and requires nothing overtly special except that we no longer hold our internal squabbles in full public view. We need to present a unified outward appearance which depicts a nation in general agreement on the major questions of the day. The discontent and defections which appear regularly between political figures who are presumably of similar mind sufficiently enough to form a coalition is the most glaring dispute in need of being conquered and rendered such that any remnant of an existence of disputes are quietly debated and calmed behind closed doors. As for those differences which arise from the so-called loyal opposition, these need to be presented in a more respectable manner and the invectiveness and scorns that currently accompany such dissent needs to find a remedial discourse far from view beyond our shores and borders. When Israel displays a unity and accord on her direction and appears to have a purpose that is defined and represents general agreement, then the world of nations will respect us, if not fear us, and from that will come peace and tranquility which will permit the self-resolution to those threats and problems which currently the world uses to attempt to destroy our nation. The one truth which the world has been permitted to deny is that the majority of Israeli citizens are of a closer mind in agreement than are our politicians who appear to thrive on boisterous discontent and cacophonic contentiousness whether such proves disastrous or merely injurious to the future of Israel. Israel should not expect a world which will be any more inclined to favor her than the ancient world which at times appeared to be solely invested in her destruction. The present atmosphere in which Israel receives the scorns of a world desperate for a scapegoat is an exact duplicate of the ancient times and the difficulties they represented. Our times of unity and self-respect steeped in traditions and belief in the rightness and honor of our existence were the only times we knew peace, tranquility and prosperity. If we seek to return to times where we are the masters of our own gate we need first to display a visage which depicts a people ready to take responsibility of their future in a unity of belief and oneness of spirit that is unquestionable. It is through the questions that we present ourselves that the world holds us to trial and attempts to convict us and sentence us to oblivion. If we cannot trust each other, then we cannot expect the trust of others. Our future is within our grasp if we can only agree to handle it with the respect and care we desire from the world at large. Anything less will produce chaos, despair and scorn, items which we have too often gathered as the fruits of our discontent throughout our storied history. If we as one of the oldest civilizations cannot learn the lessons of our history, then what chance does the rest of humanity have? We need to act as deserving of the title of a light unto the nations if the nations are ever going to have a well-lighted future. The alternative is darkness unfathomed from the annals of history and beyond our worst imagined expectations.
