The Endless Arab Offensive Continues

 

Yes, there were more attacks today. One would be hard pressed to know this even following Israeli news but watching social media provides the insight and particulars for those few who may catch the story from a witness or the victim providing they were fortunate enough to be capable of telling their friends, family and those close to them. This might be the start of an ever growing news web as one shares the information with another and the web slowly expands until it hits the breakout point which sends things into the strange world of going viral. The sad thing about the news has been the phrasing used by all too many news services which have used terminology to turn everything on its head. The BBC reported on an attack where two Israelis were murdered and one assailant who committed the stabbing was killed by police as he charged them with the knife in hand but the BBC found a more interestingly slanted way to title their article which read, “Palestinian Shot Dead After Jerusalem Attack Kills Two.” The BBC is unfortunately far from alone and anybody relying on the BBC, CNN, the New York Times, CNBC, AFP or much of the mainstream media will receive slanted news but they are not totally to blame; it is their choice of reporters and front line photographers. Often those first with the “news” are straight from the Arab media making propaganda arm replete with photos which appear to make their stories all the more plausible. These are the stringers hired by the actual reporters who have an advantage over actual real news reporters; they work for the Islamists who are the originators of every Islamist groups which followed. These stringers work for what has been described best as Pallywood and are invited or even assisted in the planning of the attacks and instigations most often against IDF troops or even staging a battle against no enemy (see video below).

 

 

 

 

Instigations against the IDF, Border Police or other rock throwing, firebombing, stabbing or simple spitting and striking IDF troops coordinated too often with professional instigators trained in the finest techniques in the most progressive universities in Europe and financed by the European Union or other European governments who often work with one of their preferred filming specialists, the Bilal Tamini family who specialize in such coordinated instigations and assaults on vehicles with Israeli license plates, though their true specialty is edited conflict videos of violence by the IDF though the initial violence by the European instigating pros or the Arabs assisting being edited out. It was just one such video which ended an honored and well-decorated officer’s career when after having his fingers broken and further insults and assaults finally returned violence which became the video of the week and sufficed for the commanders who rarely get out in the field to see and drum him from his command (see pictures and video below),

These have been a few of the sets of videos from which certain pictures of vital snapshots or piecemealed and edited videos have been manufactured to be used either to provide the media the news of the evil Israelis using excessive force as well as video shots for propaganda within their own ranks to depict the brave Arab soldiers to show and inspire their youths rousing within them the desire to give their all by attacking Israeli civilians or enforcement forces or best a combination of civilians and when the end their assault rushing the enforcement personnel upon being prevented more civilian targets thus going out in a blaze of glory. Should the Islamist terrorist not be fatally injured they will receive the same quality care from medical personnel as does their victims, something we have vacillated between being disgusted and being proud that our people have not sunk to the same barbarous level as our adversaries. That brings us to the head Islamic terrorist, Mahmoud Abbas who claimed and was echoed throughout the world media that the Israelis had murdered in cold blood a thirteen year old Arab child. The world media picked up this story and ran with it without checking if Abbas was telling anything even resembling the truth. Had any of these eager beavers (our apology to beavers who are hard-working and would probably have checked the claim for validity) checked their story factual reference and actually called anybody in the Israeli government or the Magen David Adom personnel and followed up with the hospital they would have found this very same thirteen year old boy resting in his hospital bed recovering from his extensive and free surgery and all other necessary healthcare, while cursing the hospital personnel and the surgeons who had just saved his life claiming that their efforts destroyed his experiencing the greatest moment of his life of becoming a martyr. There’s a thanks but no thanks for you. That’s also gratitude as well.

 

There should be no surprise in any of this as the leadership of the Islamists which are the forebearers of the Islamic State, were formed by the Muslim Brotherhood in conjunction with the Soviet Union KGB back in 1964 with a charter which called for the elimination of the entirety of the State of Yisroel a full three years before the 1967 Six Day War, a war declared was being fought to drive the Jews and other Zionist supporters into the (Mediterranean) Sea. The PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) was founded and invented the hijacking of planes, murdering of civilians, taking hostages, vehicular bombing, assassination, (Robert Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan who admitted in his confessions that as a Palestinian he was forced to assassinate Robert Kennedy before he could be elected because he was too favorable of Israel), murderous rage which could go so far as to tear two soldiers apart limb by limb and through disembowelment and then lean out the window and proudly display your blood soaked hands watching, nay, enjoying and soaking in every cheer from the crowd gathered outside (see picture below).

When one traces the paths of the many Islamist entities back from their present state of affairs, one will eventually reach an interesting truth, they are all derived from the same Islamic awakening which began with Hassan al-Banna who founded the Muslim Brotherhood ((Arabic: جماعة الإخوان المسلمين) in March 1928, in the city of Ismailia, Egypt. All modern Islamic supremacist movements, whether nationalist or pan-Arab universalist, whether secular socialist or fanatically religious, they all began back there when the initial spark of an awakened Islamist movement began which strove to shake to awaken the Islamist spirit to take back the initiative which had lied dormant as the Ottoman Caliphate slowly rotted from the inside until finally falling in World War I. The Muslim Brotherhood came into existence partially as a reaction to the fact that the Islamic States had lost their independence and were currently under European colonization. This is what the Muslim Brotherhood found intolerable, the fact that Islam had lost its supremacy and was instead subjected to the insult of foreign rule.

 

From the Muslim Brotherhood the path takes a few faltering steps and the first group to come from the inspirations of the Muslim Brotherhood was largely secular but was supportive of Islam as its core belief alongside socialist nationalist but not only survived but thrived as it tapped into something which the rest of the world had no problem identifying with, hatred of the Jews. This was, of course, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Before the founding of the PLO the Muslim Brotherhood had been at the forefront committing acts of sabotage and threatening governments it found which opposed them which was largely done because governments have always feared and suppressed movements which attempt to establish organizations beyond their control. This has always been the problem facing the Muslim Brotherhood so it began to form groups through which it could manipulate things and ideas to install friendly governments which it could control. This was the initial spawning of that ideal of making the world ready and content with the rule as deigned sufficiently Islamic and accepting of steerage by the radical Muslim Brotherhood. Since much of their initial pressures were against the British in Egypt and then in attempts to take control of the Egyptian government, the Muslim Brotherhood has always faced stiff and determined resistance in Egypt though it has since moved well beyond that but is still running into problems on many fronts. After the PLO began to show promise the Muslim Brotherhood began trying to form other groups to tap into the seeming power motivating the PLO but the Muslim Brotherhood ran into barriers and settings where a socialist group was not all that necessary as such already existed and was governing as a nationalist state which did not leave room for a second such movement so the Muslim Brotherhood sought a different path.

 

The Muslim Brotherhood decided that it should strengthen its Islamic core and found religious revolutionary groups which would spread the Islamic message of supremacy, Jihad and Caliphate. And where else to set up shop than against Israel, the sole place that they had seen success. Welcome to Hamas, the next great step in the spread of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood together. This struck upon a familiar theme from the original teachings of Israel to conquer from within and without and Hamas fulfilled this perfectly and thus the new Muslim Brotherhood had its model for success so it took off. From the success of Hamas came numerous other offshoots used to spread the Islamist ideal from its root in the secondary Muslim Brotherhood offspring against the Jews, Hamas which was really PLO 2.0 which took the largely secular PLO and transformed this principle from Socialist to a religious based Hamas which more exemplified the universalist conquest of the world far more clearly than had the PLO. So now there were competing Muslim Brotherhood entities, Hamas and the PLO, one run along with the KGB and one purely Jihadist and purely Muslim Brotherhood. From these two came the latest mutations from the Muslim Brotherhood spawned children which had produced or supported in concept such groups as Black September, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, and the latest being the Islamic State. Each version was a step farther in the evolution of the first two projects which had their roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, the PLO and Hamas, both continue today with the PLO being closest to the Justice and Development Party, or A.K.P. in Turkey which has slowly moved across from somewhat secular to being more religious changing as did the Muslim Brotherhood with time. The other side has culminated in the establishment of groups which were spawned from al-Qaeda and thus a follower of the Muslim Brotherhood, thus Hamas terrorist group in Gaza becomes the Islamic State. The Islamic State is the last in a progression and refinement of the initial outcroppings formed by the Muslim Brotherhood and has a strong path back to Hamas and has also incorporated the governing structure of the PLO making the Islamic State the long sought after balance of running the state functioning with inspiration from the secular PLO merged with the purely religious form of Hamas.

 

What Israel must do to find their way forward is to address these roots and trace the path from the PLO and Hamas beginnings through the branches of al-Qaeda and the Taliban and other offshoots spawned largely due to the work performed by the Muslim Brotherhood to establish their bases. Further, by establishing both models in the furtive grounds of the war against Israel and the Jews, the original institutions which were approved and given much of their initial success due to their founding principles and outside influence and supplier of concepts and basic structures the Muslim Brotherhood and its two perfect constructs of PLO and Hamas which have defined every successful group since. So when leaders and politicians attempt to claim that their fight is totally separate from the struggles Israel is facing, they are simply misinformed for none of the Sunni and many of the copies in the Shia world are directly modeled on Israel which they claim will eventually cause the formation of an entity which will owe its existence which al-Qaeda and Hamas and in turn the PLO who wrote the book on terrorism and has been producing newer copies of what can be achieved ever since. This brings us to our starting point that the Muslim Brotherhood has served as the initial model from which all later Islamist actors were formed using the model of Hamas as their role model and inspiration and this admiration and debt has been passed down the line and may be that these subsequent groups will forever owe their origins and inspiration to the PLO and Hamas for being the pioneers setting the path upon which these other stand. Israel is indeed fighting a separate foe but they are not removed from these other groups but instead are the basis upon which these others stand and once Israel is permitted by a foolish world to utterly destroy these twin ideas and personnel into the future while also reaching far back to the initial founding of Islam and the expansion seeking a way back to go forward. One need look no further than the Hamas Charter which demands that once Hamas has destroyed the Zionist entity as they refer to Israel, they are then tasked to eradicating all Jews across all worlds, an endeavor which would also require the conquest of much if not all of the known world, a reoccurring theme one finds steeped entirely through all of Islamic groups, especially those founded on the PLO/Hamas model and whose actions are nearly identical. This is what Israel has been fighting, Muslim Brotherhood 1.0 through Muslim Brotherhood 4.0 still have at their hearts the beating of a man who had an idea back in Egypt 1928 and may have drawn strength from those who eventually would take his dream to the world along with the chant of, “Khaybar Khaybar ya-Yahud, jaysh il-Mohammed saufa yaud!” which translated as “Remember (the battle of) Khaybar, oh Jews, the army of Mohammed is coming!” Thus those fighting the Islamic State are simply fighting Hamas and the PLO and those fighting the PLO and Hamas are fighting Islamic State. These two fights are actually inseparable and this is a truth the world needs to learn, Israeli victories are their victories and vice-versa. That is the basic truth as even the Shiite groups are modeled on the PLO which means Iran is also an offshoot of the PLO which is pointed out in the pictures of Yasser Arafat and the Ayatollah Khomeini.

This is the reality of the past right up to this very day with the main threats to the stability of the world are Iran under the Ayatollahs and the Islamic State as the latest rendition of Hamas and the PLO, a blend the Muslim Brotherhood has had a hand in forming from the outset in 1928 Europe with a membership initially of under a dozen workers on the Suez Canal workforce. From such humble beginnings we now face the dawn to World War III which each day appears less likely avoidable especially with the downing of a Russian civilian airliner and Russia under Putin, Vlad the Invader, bringing his nuclear missiles into the ready to respond to this attack on Mother Russia which will receive complete and total backing of the Russian people if it is presented that Russia can target those responsible and end this threat they face. The question may end up what will the rest of the world do? This is what the world on the brink looks like, nothing more and nothing less, nukes at the ready is always a tense situation no matter whose nukes are being prepared.

Hamas Islamic State Gaza War to Decide Which Sunni Fights the West

 

The last stories over the past couple of weeks were performed by the Islamic State in Gaza which had stolen the rockets from a Hamas warehouse or rocket manufactory and firing them into Israel likely to show their desire to fight Israel, as they refer Zionist Entity, and showing up Hamas for not attacking Israel while also proving their security on its stores as pathetic and unable to secure their own armories. This has been followed by numerous vehicles belonging to Hamas military officers being bombed heightening the threat levels of an internecine war breaking out between the Islamic State and Hamas for control of Gaza and eventually attack Fatah in Judea and Samaria in the not so distant future.

 

Meanwhile, the Western World will look on as a spectator sitting on the sidelines unable to understand that the continuing radicalization of the Islamic World is building towards some future breakout point where it will explode onto the Western World which will not be prepared and thus will not know what struck out at it from within its secret world still looked upon by much of the Western World as that backwards little area with its myriad of nations which had been drawn by the Allied powers after World War I in the Sykes-Picot Agreement which divided up the Ottoman Empire in such a manner as to create a Middle East incapable of advancing with any rapidity as each nation would consist of competing entities internally fighting amongst themselves only capable of functioning under the oppressive rule of a strong-armed dictator who would be overthrown every number of years only to be replaced by yet another strong-armed dictator who would invest their efforts on revenge and thus create a cycle-of-violence which would preclude advancement of the society as a whole. Unforeseen by these Western leaders who were so very smart by a half would be two strong entities which would eventually explode and unite the Sunni and Shiite worlds which would then fight out the future of the Islamic World and reestablishing the Caliphate, only this time completely aligned by the most virulent form of Islam dominating the entirety of MENA (Middle East and North Africa) ready and completely united under one banner.

 

That final struggle is about to break out with the main power of the Western World being compromised under the banner of leadership of a conflicted and troubled concept that the world had been corrupted by the false concept that the West was superior and had destroyed the world by actions by which they had lorded over the rest of the world and were the main cause of the miseries throughout the world. All the ills caused by the imposition of western culture onto an unappreciative world being robbed of its own identity became the cause celeb of the liberal left. This concept was further strengthened through political correctness run amuck which exploited Western guilt (White guilt) which had imposed what had been realized as simply morals and religious concepts which under multiculturalism had been relegated as simply just another competing set of concepts and rules for society which was no better and likely a whole lot worse than the other concepts with which it would now be forced to compete, but with constraints and limitations which denied the use of the position of strength it had built up over the years. Having the advantages of Western superiority resultant from the Reformation, Enlightenment and eventual political concepts of resulting in separation of Church and State which led inexorably to the death of Western religions with their being replaced with all-powerful states which would replace G0d with the concept of man as the ultimate entity and the State as the source of all power which through its many checks and balances offered a vastly superior and vastly more competent overseer and provider of a new and more liberated morality and check on power which was the last step before the fall.

 

What was now lost was the glue which had tied the various states together and provided the system where the State was responsible for matters of governance which then were tempered by the influences and morality of restraint taught and imposed by religion which prevented the ego of the political field from becoming overly enthused with their power and would thus eventually trip and fall. This inevitability had been recognized during the last part of the eighteenth century when government was just coming onto the stage of power in the West and its mixture of Freudian and Darwinian competing concepts from which came the eventuality of the all-powerful and omnipotent State by which all power and rights were to be guaranteed, replacing the Creator as the presumed source of the rights of man. The State replaced and circumvented the Creator and caused government replacing the church as the purveyor of all morality leading to a form of hedonism far more pervasive in society than the primitive idolaters of pre-Judeo-Christian ethics which had curtailed those very same hedonisms which had corrupted the rule of man originally. Gone were the admonitions of the Founding fathers who had realized in their slower paced society where mankind was free to think and reflect in each gain and step forward and work out the ramifications of actions thus granting a restraining force against the hedonistic morals of the moment which has taken root in Western Society where the pleasures of the moment overrule the restraints originally imposed by the balanced power of the Church. Modern western man was now erudite and advanced to where he no longer required such petty and superstitious concepts of morality which the Church was still attempting to impose on a society which now worshiped technology and the ability to hook up and where connectivity was the new religion. Gone were the heady thoughts expressed by the Founding Fathers and their political philosophers of that era which was now under assault for its evils ignoring the fact that most of those evils continue their practice in for too much of the world where the omnipotent State was the new culmination of the god-king the wielder of the power of State. This was the definer of the new morality or the lack thereof.

 

The concepts which were so wise in their day that they led to man enacting institutions which would use such knowledge to curtail such evils and allow the now all knowing State to be that which would limit its use of power as we the erudite leaders will be empowered, not the State. We exchanged as a society the rudder of centuries of accumulated wisdom which guided mankind in the early part of the time where man was to be trusted as we had our new morals incorporated into the laws and thus such would suffice to place constraints on mankind and thus temper the society which would never become headstrong and careless with its powers. We had the wisdoms of the parables which would serve as our new limitations with such concepts as the far from complete list such as the following:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. –Thomas Jefferson (Actually the entirety of the arguments listed in the listing of complaints against the crown which are the main body of the American Declaration of Independence are worth reading, as these men risked their lives signing the document (representative picture of the signing below) as Benjamin Franklin pointed out to those gathered, “”We must hang together, gentlemen…else, we shall most assuredly hang separately.”

And the source from which these wisdoms above are derived is stated succinctly in Deuteronomy 17: 14-20 which read:

14) Guidelines for a King “You are about to enter the land the LORD your God is giving you. When you take it over and settle there, you may think, ‘We should select a king to rule over us like the other nations around us.’
15) If this happens, be sure to select as king the man the LORD your God chooses. You must appoint a fellow Israelite; he may not be a foreigner.
16) “The king must not build up a large stable of horses for himself or send his people to Egypt to buy horses, for the LORD has told you, ‘You must never return to Egypt.’
17) The king must not take many wives for himself, because they will turn his heart away from the LORD. And he must not accumulate large amounts of wealth in silver and gold for himself.
18) “When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.
19) He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.
20) This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

 

These quotes would have been the guidance by which Western thought of a limited government would have rallied to contest for the hearts and minds of mankind but which instead have been relegated as merely one amongst many paths, all of which have equal truth for truth is decided by each man for himself and his family and no choice is superior or inferior to any other. The problem with such thought is that it does not lend itself to defending such a society as the society by its own admissions is no better or worse than any other societal norns. The problem with relativism is it leads to what may be the greatest pitfall from which recovery is all but impossible and that renders every last one of the above quotations mute is expressed in one more anecdotal saying:

“Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” – Alexander Hamilton.

 

How many people in most of Europe and far too much of the United States believe in any of the above quotations. Probably one out of every fifty would be the answer one would get from the students on any average college campus inbetween their laughter at such outmoded thoughts. One has to wonder how many of them realize that much of what they are being indoctrinated with was the rule of the world before the introduction of Torah which led to Judeo-Christian ethics and was culminated in the hedonism of Rome and the worship of the human form brought to the forefront by the Hellenist Greeks. The Greeks who preceded Rome had a similar pantheon of gods but also believed that the human form was the ultimate crowning creation of the gods. Their belief that the human form was a perfection included their outlawing circumcision, body painting, cutting (a practice where the body was scarred to make permanent markings which determined ones stature in the society where only those of great accomplishments or of high birth were so marked) and later to the designs painted on such as the inking in Egypt which was the earliest form of tattooing. It would be interesting if those human purists of today were to be made aware that their biggest complaint against male circumcision is actually a throwback to the Greeks who saw such as an abomination and insult to their gods and that for the past century circumcision has been an understood practice which improved health and prevented infections and the spread of certain diseases and a reduced risk of contracting other diseases. They would also likely be surprised that the new war on circumcision has much the same reasoning behind it as it had through the last three thousand years, namely as an effort to make circumcision illegal thus making Judaism illegal as circumcision is required by the Jewish faith as part of the covenant with Hashem. But why would that change anyone’s mind as it has not been much of deterrence to any practices over the thirty or so centuries so why should it matter now?

 

That is one of the things about the latest and greatest trends over the last half a century and into this start of the twenty-first century has been how things which were supplanted by the introduction of monotheism and the moral codes in Torah and which were to make the core of Judeo-Christian ethics have returned and are now replacing the Judeo-Christian ethics across much of Western Society. Europe has almost been completely overwhelmed by these throwback cultural mores. The sacrifices to Baal often were child sacrifices which usually meant newborns and infants which parents no longer or never desired to have to care for or were born from an unsanctioned relationship or for whatever reason, maybe the priest and the parents had an argument or any of an myriad of reasons, while today society is up front about it, some people do not wish to have the inconvenience of a child and some organizations, well, it’s just business and there is good money in fetal tissue and body parts and the ghoulishness does not seem to get in their way of making an extra few hundreds-of-millions of dollars. How much longer before the television networks have gladiatorial combat to the dearth and during intermission between bouts and twice before the main event of the evening having some convicts thrown to the lions for your evening’s entertainment. There is a song by Peter Allen with an appropriate title for these new morals and norms which were the rage between two and ten millennia ago titled, “Everything Old Is New Again.” I would try and sing it for you but that would be a cruelty you should not need suffer.

Life, Iran, ISIS, Our Fates, and an Unknown Future

 

One need remember that Iran and Iraq went at each other for a period just short of eight years starting on September 22, 1980 and lasting until August 20, 1988 and was initiated by Saddam Hussein and was largely considered to have been a failure by Iraq as Iran stopped the initial surge dead in its tracks and slowly but inexorably backed the Iraqi troops back and they eventually returned to their initial borders. This was just a part of the history of animosities between Iraq and Iran and was seemingly inevitable that they would go after one another. The fact that it was Saddam Hussein who began the hostilities was not so surprising and he may have even been nudged in that direction by the United States who still harbored great animosity towards the Iranians for the hostage crisis which was yet to have concluded. The United States hostages were not released until after the November Presidential elections on the very hour that President Reagan was sworn in to office. One might be able to claim that the hostage release coinciding with the swearing in of Ronald Reagan might make their release his very first accomplishment as President as few would even think to claim they were released as a sign of respect and a parting gift for President Jimmy Carter. The fact that the war between the secular dictatorial forces of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and the Shiite Muslim Sharia Iranian State of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini fought to a virtual standstill exchanging the same patches of ground as the fates ebbed and flowed neither capable of delivering a decisive blow that might make the other reel and collapse before a superior force. This was, in many ways, a conflict where despite governments picking sides, some places such as Israel was simply glad that the war kept both nations occupied and facing some fire situation which left them so preoccupied that they had little time to think about harming Israel, something else where these two nations might have also competed to see which could injure Israel the most.

 

Two years, less a mere eighteen days, Iraq decided to invade another neighbor, this time Kuwait. Starting on August 2, 1990 it took a mere two days to August 4, 1990 for Saddam Hussein’s army to sweep across Kuwait. This not only caused Iran to worry that another attack might be in the cards from their nemesis, it also made Saudi Arabia extremely nervous about the possibility that Saddam Hussein might have them in his sights as his next victim. Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz called his good and close friend, President George Herbert Walker Bush and the wheels were put in motion to ride to the rescue. The United States formed a coalition which included a number of Arab and Muslim States which worked under United Nations approval and removed Saddam Hussein’s troops from Kuwait destroying a huge number of the Iraqi armored vehicles including numerous Russian supplied tanks and armored personnel carriers plus scores of trucks and other vehicles. The Iraqi troops caused an unmitigated ecological disaster by setting virtually, if not every, oil well in the Kuwaiti vast oil fields. It took months to extinguish and recap every well and then proceed to put them back into service. Things actually appeared to have settled down in the threats between nations, but that did not mean all was well in the Middle East. Acting on what was interpreted to be United States urgings the Iraqi Shiites in the south and the Kurds in the North made an attempt to dethrone Saddam Hussein expecting the United States to provide some level of assistance. Well, United States assistance was never considered being sent as they had refused to even chase the Iraqi troops back to Baghdad after chasing them from Kuwait. The closest the United States manpower came to Iran was protecting the Americans working in the Kuwaiti oil fields putting out well fires and recapping wells before returning them to service, a task that took several years.

 

After the 9/11 terror attacks on the twin Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon and another target foiled by the passengers of Flight 93 which they brought down at the cost of their own lives before it could reach its intended target which was believed to have been either the Capital building or the White House and the beginning of the war on terror with the invasions of Afghanistan to find Osama bin Laden and fight al-Qaeda and the Taliban, President George W. Bush requested further authorization to take military action against Saddam Hussein in order to prevent his further manufacture of chemical weapons and to terminate his reputed nuclear weapons program. The alleged nuclear weapons program had been backed by all evidence gathered by the British, the United States, France and the rest of Europe all indicated that Saddam Hussein an advanced nuclear weapons program which could have been completed except for the Israeli attack destroying the French built Osirak Reactor before it could be fueled and used to produce plutonium for a weapon. There is the common misconception that there was none of the precursors for a nuclear weapons program to be found in Iraq during the Second Gulf War. There was a large amount of Yellowcake, a form of raw uranium used for safe transport and storage and can be transformed into uranium hexafluoride which is what is fed into the centrifuges in order to enrich the uranium. Whereas these approximately five-hundred-fifty-tons of yellowcake, that is over one-million-pounds, were from the stores logged back in 1991 and was under the watchful eyes of the IAEA, that does not mean it was impossible for those stores to be utilized to jumpstart Saddam’s dream to attain nuclear weapons had he decided to demand that the IAEA inspectors leave Iraq and then gone full speed ahead in a mad dash towards making a weapon. North Korea has stores of yellowcake which under IAEA guards until it was not under IAEA guards. Granted it might have been difficult to get the yellowcake into production before the world arrived, as they arrived despite Saddam not touching those provisions as there were suspicions backed by faulty intelligence.

 

Now Saddam Hussein is long gone and Iran has all but annexed the southern third of Iraq, the Shiite controlled area that includes the capital city of Baghdad. The Kurdish has become an entity unto themselves and definitely has autonomy if not complete independence. The Iraqi government, which appears to be weak and feckless with Iran holding the real power but only in the southern third of the nation even partially cemented under their control, has thus far refused to provide any weapons or other provisions to reach either the Kurdish militias or the Sunni tribesmen thus leaving both to their own devices in fighting against such forces such as ISIS which has been marauding and murdering anybody who does not meet their high standards for Islamic purity. This fighting has mostly taken place in the Sunni central area of what has been Iraq and that has left the Sunni stuck between two murderous powers. The Shiite military from the south performs ethnic cleansing whenever they gain sufficient areas to conduct sweeps. It appears that the main people targeted are Sunni males of fighting age. When ISIS takes control of these same areas they too pick the same group and demand that they prove their devotion to Islam by joining the new Caliphate or else suffer the wrath of the true believers. They also threaten the families of these young and middle aged men most of whom just want to be left alone to tend to making a living and caring for their families. ISIS does not care if they are fathers raising a family with young children as they are true warriors for the faith and because their cause is pure, they themselves are pure as are their acts, thus their cause is righteous. This makes their courts just, their drafting of all able-bodied men of fighting age, willingly or not, righteous, their taking of supplies such as food, even if it deprives the people of proper means, is just and all they do and how they go about performing their actions are righteous. Their being holy warriors make anybody opposing their cause or placing themselves contrary to their demands acts of blasphemy. This is why they have been holding public executions and quick trials followed by swift execution of their judgement and the sentence. ISIS has been proving to be a force on the ground with which to contend. Should they ever manage to procure an air force of any size and with even the barest minimum of competence, then ISIS will have the potential to have become at the least an entity possessing the barest minimum for being a nation in the Middle East, at least as a replacement in some ways for Syria.

 

What will add significantly to the range and broaden the abilities of ISIS would be their gaining the backing of al-Qaeda, something they appear to have been doing piecemeal thus far as one former entity which had sworn their fealty to al-Qaeda are now switching and swearing fealty to ISIS such as Boko Haram. The recent threats made by ISIS may end up spelling their demise as they may be biting off more than they can chew. Their threats to replace the Arab Palestinian Authority actually make complete sense as they are two opposing sides of the forces against Israel. Where ISIS are Islamists who follow a strict interpretation of the Quran which defines their form of the Sharia, the Arab Palestinian Authority are secularist, socialist with a small semblance of democratic principles as long as such does not threaten those in the highest places. The Arab Palestinian Authority represent the most vile and far removed form of Islamic governance that one can find, they are oil and water, or more likely pure sodium and water. Hamas, on the other hand, has a very similar charter stand for the same world conquest and placing all of the world’s people under the banner of Sunni Islam by whatever means necessary. As Hamas and Islamic Jihad might have a better than average probability of joining ISIS as a whole entity and thus giving ISIS additional manpower which has already been tested in combat. The statement made by ISIS which could prove their taking on a nut they are unable to crack was their threat to also tackle Israel. The IDF would not need to hold back fighting ISIS as they habitually have been forced into doing with every possible entity watching their every move just waiting to pounce should Israel operate without the strictest of restraints almost requesting permission to return fire when her troops come under fire. The probability that ISIS will open up a new front within its current operating theater would be tactical suicide. Currently ISIS has three fronts, their borders with the Kurdish Peshmerga Militias who are well trained and disciplined holding the northern front in Iraq and the northeastern front in Syria, the Alawites are holed up with their backs against the Mediterranean Sea in the northwest rim of Syria, IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) and the remnants of the Iraqi Army in the south of Iraq and the entirety of their eastern front is the rest of the Iranian armed forces should they push in an eastern and there have been hints dropped this week that President Erdogan has made intonations that Turkey is considering moving down into Syria to scoop up as much of the lands as they are able and that would place another front for ISIS to face off against and of course ISIS has mentioned their desire to take control over the holy cities of Mecca and Medina which would involve a war with Saudi Arabia which would also bring the Egyptians into the fray. ISIS has one service they are providing the world at this stage, they are breaking apart the Iranian crescent by destroying Bashir al-Assad and breaking the direct link from Tehran through Baghdad on through Damascus and through to Beirut or Latakia, Baniyas, Sidon, Tartus, or Tyre and then out into the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. ISIS is a horrific and barbaric entity on the order of something like a Saddam Hussein who gassed thousands of his own countrymen. Saddam Hussein rivaled Hafez al-Assad, the man who had murdered more Syrian people than any enemy until his son, Bashir al-Assad, became what appears to be the last president who may have set the bar to such a height for percentage of one’s nation either murdered, rendered without shelter, made into refugees, fled the nation or been imprisoned or simply disappeared without a trace. For the sake of the Western World it would be to their advantage for ISIS to engage fully with Iran preventing them the peaceful times which would allow them to pursue their nuclear weapons program to its completion including the ICBM missiles which could easily reach anywhere on earth. Maybe it is the fate of ISIS to foil the plans and progresses of the Iranians as United States President evidently will not go so. So, once again we find that silver lining within one of our darkest of clouds. Still, how long will we live with a world where we have to rely on scoundrels to do the work of an elected charlatan?

 

Beyond the Cusp
