Peace Farce Being Pushed Again

Mahmoud Abbas has been a busy beaver running to and fro pleading for anybody to press Israel and squeeze more concessions which he can gather for free and brag that he is the hero of the people. He has been pressing the French with a modicum of fruitfulness. He recently ran off to Cairo pestering President Sisi to also press for a renewal of a peace he will never accept. Abbas has no ability to accept anything less than the complete obliteration of the Jewish State, Israel, or as he refers to it, the Zionist Entity. Mahmoud Abbas has made it clear to the Arab world that he is aware that the only peace he will allow is for the replacement of Israel with an Arab state and the Jews liquidated. This is the only promise Abbas feels he need honor and any agreement with anyone else including the French, Sisi, the United States, The United Nations and any other entity are to be a ruse towards reaching the desired end of Israel and that is the only truth. But Sisi has enough on his plate and needed Abbas pressing like he needs a hole in his head. Possibly just to clear his plate of this annoyance or possibly in earnest desire to do what is right Sisi made a statement pressing for a restart of the “Peace Process.” Now the circus begins anew and Israel can only now attempt to mitigate this renewed threat taking as little damage as possible.

 

The immediate reaction to Sisi’s pressured request has been as expected. Mahmoud Abbas is delighted and immediately took to demanding that Israel prepare to restart the peace process and take the required steps to allow for the negotiations to begin. This is not what many will think it is as it is most definitely not a demand to schedule a meeting as that had been offered and on the table for the last sixty years if only the Palestinians desired peace rather than conquest. This desire for Israel to prepare for negotiations actually means for Israel to start making offers of concessions until Abbas decides which concessions he desires to accept and may even add a few suggestions of his own. He might even renew his demand that Israel permit a land connection between Gaza and Ramallah a mile wide across Israel as dividing the two Palestinian entities is unfair to any who have family in both sides. That such a grant would divide Israel in half separating the north from the south is, of course, of no consequence as only Abbas and the Palestinian desires to be considered valid and Israeli rights as secondary. That has been the basic rule of the game when the outside world intervenes and takes to pressing for progress, a word which has come to mean Israeli concessions and Abbas lies and deceptions accepted as progress.

 

But Abbas was not the only one pleased with this request. Another took full advantage of the ploy to pry concessions from Israel in a naked political maneuver hoping to gain advantage in any coming election at the potential cost of the safety of the nation. This advantage was pressed by the leader of the minority party leader, the Labor Party leader Yitzhak Herzog. This was of no surprise as Yitzhak Herzog has never missed any opportunity to direct pressures against the government and risks the safety of the Israeli public if he can make any political points. The real shame of Herzog and his jumping excitedly on this Abbas attack on Israel is made all the worse as the mood of the peoples of Israel as proven in the last election and has only deepened has been towards the Zionist and nationalist camp as well as becoming more religious. Herzog and his party are socialists and internationalist and has teamed up with Tzipi Livni and her party, which has all but collapsed, and in an attempt to mislead the public adopted the name “Zionist Union” despite being anything but Zionist and running claiming to be the peace party which could lead Israel and the Palestinian Entities, Hamas and Abbas’s Palestinian Authority, to a peace agreement and willing to make whatever painful sacrifice necessary for peace. Perhaps he is not aware that to make peace he would need to sacrifice the entire nation but if that is true then he is completely unaware of reality or is being deceitful, neither of which is a good qualification for leading the nation.

Then there is the French call for a peace conference to discuss the Israel Palestinian Peace Process where they have pressed for numerous countries to send representatives to make discussions as to what steps need to be explored for restarting the peace negotiations. It has been rumored that a number of Arab nations are sending representatives as well as many European nations, all of which are at best questionable in any list of friends of Israel. Further, the United States is debating having Secretary of State Kerry giving the French initiative the boost of their participation. There is one country which has been expressly not invited and will not be admitted even if they desired to join the confab, Israel. What devilish schemes are going to be considered that Israel is expressly excluded from a peace conference under the banner of making peace between the Arab world and Israel starting with the Palestinians where everybody is welcome except Israel? Israel should make it known that they will not be considering anything coming out of the French initiative without allowing the Israeli public and their representatives in the Knesset and the Prime Minister and his Cabinet have reviewed and seriously considered any and all consequences of the prospective solutions.

 

The one item which appears to have escaped everybody was the offers already made in the past which during the peace talks sponsored by President Clinton had been told by Yasser Arafat he would accept and after pressing Israeli Prime minister Ehud Barak to accept the night before. When President Clinton and Secretary of State Albright presented Arafat with the deal he had told President Clinton he would accept just twelve hours or so earlier, Arafat replied by stalking out of the talks refusing to return or make any further demands returning to Ramallah and starting the Second Intifada which murdered over a thousand Israelis and injured innumerably more. Since then there have been at least four more offers made which were comparable or even surpassing that deal and all have been refused out of hand. All included sharing Jerusalem between the two states as their Capital. All included ninety-five percent of Judea and Samaria with equal land swaps making up the remainder. All were thought by the United States to be sufficient to initially meet with their approval. All were rejected by Mahmoud Abbas as insufficient without so much as even a hint at what would be acceptable. All were then declared as failures by Israel to make sufficient sacrifice for peace by the media and all of Europe, the United Nations and even the formerly approving representatives of the United States.

Why Israel should even pretend to accept such overtures knowing that Abbas will never make peace and any agreement made Abbas demands that terror attacks be continued, demands for more sacrifices from Israel meaning giving up land that the Palestinians never resided on, knowing that in the Palestinian schools they teach the children that they are from cities and towns inside Israel and that they will return to their homes which in most cases never existed, and knowing that the world would gladly sacrifice Israel in the hope it would spare them future terrorist attacks, which is beyond any reasonable doubt as proven by past actions and statements. Why the world is even wasting time and effort would be beyond understanding except that it is the worst kept secret that they would sacrifice Israel for even the lie that it would protect them from future Islamic terror or subversive acts as part of a civilizational jihad. Israel need save the world from their own foolishness as the truth is that Israel is the stopper in the bottle between the Islamic world and Europe and the rest of the world. Israel may not prevent some incursions by terror but Israel does make such less likely as Israel by her existence is the first target on their list. Further, Israel provides the best intelligence by which some attacks are prevented though an attack prevented never makes any news and thus no news is good news. News of such might compromise the avenues by which the intelligence was acquired, thus no news is doubly good news as it allows for future times of no news being good news. Unfortunately, the aims of these peace initiatives are to make news which eventually will bring bad news as such news serves simply to aggravate the problems and agitate hidden terrorist potentials. The world would be better served by allowing direct negotiations to take place when the Arab leadership is willing to honestly approach a real peace and not just another attempt to destroy Israel first and Europe next. Pray that somebody somewhere comes to their senses and prevents more damage than has already been accomplished.

If Only Abbas Could Honestly State Desires

 

Mahmoud Abbas is excellent on claiming that Israel or Netanyahu are unable to meet his demands to make a peace. Could anybody tell us and point to the evidence that Mahmoud Abbas has ever stated plainly before the world even what his maximalist demands are to make peace or any hints as to what reasonably he would accept for a peace to be made? That is the problem; he has never laid forth any plan for peace. Mahmoud Abbas’s only statement about peace is that everything that has ever been offered is insufficient for him to agree and make peace. There will be those who have to blame Israel who will claim that Israel had never offered a peace proposal either. The problem is Israel had made specific proposals and submitted them during talks, the few which have actually managed to include Mahmoud Abbas or other Arab Palestinian representatives. Some have gone as far as splitting Jerusalem and turning over more than 90% of what Jordan held when the lands were renamed West Bank with land swaps for the remaining less than 10% and Abbas refused these offers and simply walked away without even trying to state a counter proposal and work out the particulars. Then as soon as the media was asking why, he would start screaming that Israel refused to give them Jerusalem and Israel was stealing Palestinian lands and Israel are refusing to continue negotiating and all kinds of lies and fabrications. Then much of the media print Abbas’s accusations and if Israel is lucky they print that the Israelis disagree with the Palestinians on why the talks failed.

There has also been another reason why Abbas refuses to make peace and it is actually quite logical. The cycle of peace talks goes something like this. First Abbas makes his accusations that the Israelis have not negotiated in good faith and that until the Israelis make certain concessions he refuses to even speak of peace talks. The United States, United Nations and Europeans all demand of Israel meet the concessions demanded by Abbas. Eventually the go between drags sufficient concessions from Israel and there is a big buildup in the media and there are cameras to record the historic handshake and then Abbas pockets the concessions and goes home. The negotiations fail and Abbas starts screaming to the media that Israel refuses to make an honest peace. The media run with that story and that is what we hear again and again and eventually pressure is once again put on Israel to make concessions so that somebody with a brilliant new approach, there are no more new approaches, trust us, so Israel makes more concessions. The cameras all document the handshake with a new backdrop and the negotiations soon die. Abbas starts screaming before the media about Israeli perfidy and refusal to make proper concessions for peace. This leads to more demands for Israel to make concessions so the peace talks can resume. The cameras record the historic handshake, the peace talks crash, Abbas screams, pressure on Israel bring the next concessions which has another handshake and the talks, well, you get the idea. Israel has run out of room for more concessions plain and simple.

 

The French are about to start their pitch for new talks and they will demand of Israel to make concessions to bring Abbas to the handshake ceremony. There will be no use in giving him a postage stamp, let alone actual territory. There is a way which could lead to peace if anybody out there really desires peace. It is actually quite simple to state. Have Mahmoud Abbas and the Arab Palestinian leadership make an actual offer as the first step towards peace. I promise that if anybody can get an actual concrete written with maps et al offer for peace that is anywhere even close to reasonable there will be peace almost immediately thereafter, just get the Arab Palestinian side to make an actual offer of what it is they will accept. Obviously if their minimal offer for peace is for them to be given all the lands from the River to the Sea and the Jews gone, which is code for all of Israel from the Jordanian Border to the Mediterranean Sea with all six and a half to seven million Jews with their throats slit, then Israel will likely not jump at that offer. The nice thing about such is the truth would finally have been made obvious for all who are willing to see and those still refusing to see can be written off as anti-Israel and anti-Semitic as when somebody believes that only the Jewish People are not entitled to have a state of their own, that is anti-Semitism plain and simple. Abbas believes that the Jews are not worthy of living in their own historic and ancient homelands and further would like for the Jews to all be killed just as do his counterparts in Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezballah, Iran and in all too many other corners of this world.

 

You can know one by their words and actions and Abbas uses his words to instill hate and perpetuate the violence between the Arab Palestinians and the Israelis and particularly the Jews. We will not claim that there are not those who are on the Israeli side who do not advocate for the removal of the Arab Palestinians by any means necessary. We will tell you that they are not the ones who are in power. The people in power now and since 1948 in Israel have desired living in peace and preferably cooperatively side by side with our Arab neighbors. Our Arab neighbors have not been as cooperative in this venture since the dawn of the very first day of Israeli existence when their armies poured across our borders intent on a complete and total slaughter of every Jew and all too many of the Muslims, Christians and anybody else they came across. The Mufti of Jerusalem, recently returned by the British after his comfortable time in Berlin during World War II, demanded of his Arab and Muslim brothers and sisters that they leave their homes and farms and get themselves behind the soon to be victorious Arab armies massed on the borders so that the Arab armies could freely massacre all they encountered without worry of murdering a Muslim. The majority of the Muslims living within what was declared Israel on May 15, 1948, left their homes and sought sage refuge behind the Arab armies who ran into a small problem and were unable of destroying the Jews as they had sworn they would do. This led to not being able to share the plunder with their brother and sisters who had fled to seek refuge awaiting the promised bounty the Mufti had declared would be theirs. When these Muslims attempted after the fighting ended to return to their homes, their brothers refused to allow them passage back into what was now established Israel. Instead of allowing them to return they were rounded into camps and have been quarantined as refugees in Arab lands, some are even kept in camps in Arab Palestine areas such as outside Gaza City and in Nablus where they are Palestinian refugees residing in camps in Palestinian areas. They are kept prisoners by their fellow Arabs simply to be used as a bludgeon to strike Israel and flood Israel with these “refugees” changing the demographics and destroying the Jewish State. These “refugees” presumably numbered around six-hundred-fifty-thousand which is close to the three-quarters of a million Jews expelled by the Arab world after Israel was declared. Should these two separate sets of refugees have been treated as were the refugees between Pakistan and India, Greece and Turkey, Poland and Germany, France and Germany and others which occurred due to the redrawing of the maps of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa and the liberation of colonial states all of which though not without violence likely prevented much further violence and conflict which may have otherwise ensued. Proof is the lingering nature of the Arab Israeli conflict partially due to refugees on one side as there are no Jewish refugee camps as the Jews were simply accepted by Israel and incorporated into the society and were never looked down on or seen as a potential weapon to be used against the nations from which they had been forced to flee. The Arabs are a completely different situation as their fellow Arabs have kept them in the camps and they are now viewed as lesser people who could never be permitted to integrate into the society around them despite the fact that many have relatives living in the nation surrounding their camp.

 

Of course another one of the demands made by Abbas is that Israel accepts these refugees into Israel and grants them citizenship before any peace treaty can be discussed. This is a ruse and deceitful attempt to subvert Israeli society without needing to have peace negotiations as once these refugees would be granted voting rights they would likely pose a majority population and be able to turn Israel into an Arab state making negotiations unnecessary. Abbas is fully aware of this fact as he knows that should Israel have ever accepted such a condition that there would be triple the number of refugees than there are in the camps as additional “refugees” would magically appear as the population transfer was in progress. This would be even more pronounced with the huge numbers of Iraqi and Syrian refugees who could be included as Arab Palestinians since there is no real difference between the Syrians, Iraqis and Arab refugees from 1948 as noted above when we stated many of the refugees have relatives living outside the camps because they stayed with their relatives when they were waiting for Israel to be decimated and crushed.

 

The French are the latest to have a brilliant solution in mind if only they can get the talks resumed. Initially the French idea was to start the talks and if there was no solution reached after six months, maybe a year at the most, then they would declare a border and establish the Arab Palestinian State by fiat (not the car, a decree). This was the brainchild of their Foreign Minister Jean-Louis Debré who was recently replaced and the new Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius taking over and backtracking the ultimatum removing such setting of borders and French recognition claiming rightfully that such gave the Palestinians no reason to negotiate fairly. We thank Hashem for such little favors such as changing the French Foreign Minister to a man with slightly higher reasoning than dislike for Israel. Still, the cards are stacked against Israel on the world stage and will continue to be that way until Israel herself takes a stronger and more assertive stance for her rights and future borders as well as who may be considered for citizenship. It is well past time for Israel to simply reassess the situation, set her borders as they legally were intended by the Churchill declarations White Papers and tell the Arab world to be glad Israel does not demand all of the British Mandate as recompense for all the terrorism and wars declared against her.

 

There would necessarily be a weeding-out period where many of the Palestinian establishment would necessarily need to find new nations of residence as they have proven beyond any doubt their subversive and untrustworthy natures. Perhaps Tunisia or Lebanon might welcome them or they could seek a bunker in Syria or Libya or wherever else they might find acceptance. As for the troubled generation which has been raised on hatred and trained for terrorism and little else, it is recognized and been theorized that it would take between thirty and fifty years to turn the Arab Palestinian society back into productive members of any society, even their own, and even then much of it would need be done against the desires of the students of hate who either have graduated school or are so far into their indoctrination as to make any new and normal educational systems unsuccessful in altering their programming. That is a heavy price but with time, effort and a combination of rewards and punishments the returning these lost souls to a regular and normal life must necessarily be attempted. The most ardent and severe cases which insist despite knowing the consequences to murder what would then be their own countrymen and women simply because they followed a different religion, these would necessarily need to face expulsion and exile to any nation outside of Gaza who would be willing to accept them. The training to fight and kill Israelis starts at a young age as shown in the video below where a father in Gaza where Hamas rules and there are no Israelis is filmed training his four year old son to fire and RPG rocket grenade, a four year old child.

 

 

 

There will eventually be only one way this conflict will ever be terminated and that is for one side to lose totally. If the Arab Palestinian side loses completely, they will likely continue to have their area under Hamas control in the Gaza but will be pushed from Judea and Samaria areas as well as Jerusalem. The Arab Palestinian demand that they control the Temple Mount and their insistence that prayers on the holy site be restricted solely for Muslims as all other prayer is an abomination and would putrefy the Temple Mount being overturned and the Waqf being disbanded and returned to Jordan will be a first step in resolving the situation. The Arab Palestinians already have their own governing body despite their leader, Mahmoud Abbas, refusing to hold election since the 2005 election being won by Hamas. They have their own police and run their own affairs in Areas A and B and Hamas along with Islamic Jihad rule another Arab Palestinian State in Gaza which could be considered an actual nation if they were to so declare and become recognized. I am sure a number of European nations would gladly recognize Hamastan but they would rather scream about their being occupied by Israel and the IDF despite neither being the case and the only time it is otherwise is after Hamas rockets rain down on Israeli cities, towns and kibbutzim often numbering in the hundreds per day. Most nations would declare all-out war long before the fiftieth rocket rained down on them from neighboring nations, territories or whatever entity launched them but Israel takes a few consecutive days of over a hundred rockets as Israel apparently must go through a whole series of warnings, entreatings and whatever the latest European and United Nations demands may be and still the media and world will treat the situation as if Israel were the aggressor. There will be those who will point out that Israel fired the first bullet, which will be true only because rockets, no matter their size, are not bullets. Don’t laugh as I have heard that as an argument that Israel always fires the first bullet in the war as nothing was covered in the news until Israel attacked. Ignoring attacks on Israel no matter their severity and only covering the Israeli response on whatever news these people were watching, perhaps Al Jazeera America or who knows or cares, does not make Israel the aggressor anywhere outside the United Nations and its chorus of NGOs and Commissions no matter what anybody claims. The fact that the truth can be so twisted is why the Arab Israeli conflict will not end until one side eliminates the other, period, sad but true.

None of us are ever likely to be on the inside and be privileged, or should I say cursed, to know exactly what outside pressures Prime Minister Netanyahu has had to face while deciding what kind of government to form. To most of us it appeared so simple, gather over sixty seats with right leaning to far right wing parties and include a minimal number of parties who might go weak under pressure. That is the sad part, that if Israel chooses the governance best for her that we are assured that the world will come down on us heavy and hard demanding that we bend this way and that until we make a Philadelphia pretzel look like a piece of straight bread. But it is easy to suspect that things were somewhat different this time as one of the few friends Israel has depended upon has turned into her greatest threat in far too many ways. We can all assume that President Obama made it very clear that if Prime Minister Netanyahu went ahead and formed that sixty-one or sixty-seven or whatever number right-leaning government that he would face an adversarial Washington which would not guarantee support in all the usual places. We all know what that threat means and what usual place that President Obama references, the United Nations Security Council. What is left out of that formula is that thus far the United States has not faced the need to exercise their veto purely to protect Israel as the usual Arab state demands either never reached the Security Council or failed to attain the necessary nine votes in favor despite their belief that had it in spades when they presented their petition. We heard some of the caterwauling over the past week if we listened to the wind which carried with it demands that Netanyahu make a demonstrative demonstration of his dedications and whole-hearted support for the two state solution which the Europeans and President Obama and company hold so dear. What may have escaped us was the real meaning of those threats and demands emanating from Secretary of State Kerry, Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, State Department spokespersons such as Jennifer Psaki, and President Obama who may have even pressured Netanyahu directly in a personal phone call made necessary due to the reason that it is within weeks, months, years, centuries or millennia to the Iran Agreement, Israeli elections, solar eclipse, arrival of Halley’s Comet or convergence of the planets with the center of the galaxy so President Obama must not appear to permit any public meetings between he and Bibi though he can call and berate him endlessly to toe the line and support the two-state-solution. All this pressure was around one single, but likely unspoken demand, as speaking its name would be uncomely, though why that might matter now is beyond me. That demand was for Prime Minister Netanyahu form a broad coalition and a unity government with Yitzhak Herzog and Tzipi Livni and reward these coequal partners with top cabinet spots such as Justice for Livni as she was so effective in carrying out the Obama principles in the last government, and Herzog to get Foreign Minister and their other highest members to get the Defense Minister and be granted complete control over any building to be approved for Jerusalem or Judea and Samaria. The people placed in that last position need only have one requirement, the ability to say ‘לא’ or ‘no’ in English. This was the real reason Prime Minister Netanyahu kept vacillating and putting off the natural right leaning parties and particularly Jewish Home as I can guarantee you that Naftali Bennett’s name figured prominently in President Obama’s demands for people he refused to find comfort should they be included in any coalition.

 

Even by American standards the interference by President Obama and his Administration in Israeli politics, at levels even exceeds those of President Clinton or anybody before him. The interference by providing election assistance had been done previously most notably by President Clinton and Democrat Party assistance for the Labor Party in Israel has gotten to the point I’m waiting for them to have joint conventions in the future, especially if an Israeli election can be scheduled to fit in relative close proximity to an American elections cycle, preferably a Presidential election. I can see it now, the newly nominated Democrat President with the newly chosen Vice Presidential candidate to his right and the selected Labor Party leader on his left with all three with their hands held together raised in a sign of might and unity of purpose. Why not, is that any sillier than an election group in Israel using the slogan ‘Change the Government’ and ‘Anybody but Bibi’? The only thing they were missing was the Hope for the Future so that could be abbreviated and they would have the proven formula, ‘Hope and Change’. Some slogans are too good to let die. First President Obama launched the campaign to unseat Bibi and the Israelis chose Netanyahu despite being informed what was good for them if they understood what the President of the United States demanded of them. Apparently President Obama missed the parts in the Bible when he learned all about Christianity from the Pastor Reverend Wright whose sermons he never heard, probably had snuck out for a smoke break and missed every last sermon, but he missed the part where the Jewish people were defined by their greatest of leaders, Moses, as well as the all-powerful One when they would discuss the difficulties and presented the main excuse that these were a stiff necked and stubborn people. If Moses and the L0rd found the Jews at their most timid to be frustratingly stubborn and stiff-necked, what did they expect of us today? Demand we vote as instructed by our what? Betters, was that the word? No, I don’t think so, we have our own ideas and will decide what is best for us and not somebody who had appeared all too ready to throw us under the bus for any reason and especially if it would grant him a second Nobel Peace Prize, as that is the only thing President Obama sees Israel as being good for, permitting herself to be splayed out before her enemies and lain low for easy conquest just so before the Middle East explodes into a thousand shards as everything is broken being cut by the jagged and sharp edges of the stone known as Jerusalem and the people who hold her as their only capital city for the last three thousand years and then some. The lesson President Obama missed was on Zechariah 12:2-3 where it is said, “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.” What might this have told President Obama about trying to influence the Israelis through word or threat? Oh, most likely that we as a people have been threatened by the worst and the best of them and somehow we always seemed to find our own path and walked merrily listening to our own drummer and dancing to our own beat come what consequences may come.

 

Apparently Bibi has finally chosen to fear the threats of the people of Israel above the threats from the ditherer in Washington who has grown so infatuated with his own voice that he still believes it can move mountains and control the minds of the weak and weary. For far too long the leadership of Israel has been too weary and acted too weak when facing this menace when the best route was to stand firm and let it rip and give as good as you got. The funny thing is despite the demands and pressures; President Obama only respects one thing, strength. As a community organizer he knows how to argue from a position of strength which has always meant his position when it was backed by a group ready to fight for what they desired. President Obama, as an effective community organizer would only take on the causes for which he had a ready and willing populace group which he could call out to do whatever was required to gain those demands which had been presented in their name. This is what was behind his threat that he “has a pen and a phone and knows how to use both.” The pen was the obvious reference to Executive Orders and the phone was presumably connected to a group in the society which he knew supported everything he does and would gladly show up wherever needed and provide the agitation required to put the correct measure of force behind the cause, whatever that cause might be. The pen does not work in Israel and who could President Obama call out to protest beyond those who are already out there protesting, thus his two biggest weapons are nullified. That leaves the only single threat which might appear to hold water and be a meaningful threat, the threat to no longer protect Israel before resolutions brought before the Security Council, so exactly how vulnerable and what are the probabilities and realities about the threat itself?

 

The first thing we must ascertain is exactly how far might President Obama go in leaving Israel vulnerable to United Nations whims and fancies? Whatever is going to happen in the General Assembly is going to happen and usually against Israel and there is little anybody is willing or even could do even if willing, that is a dead zone for Israel. Then there is the Human Rights Commission which as part of its own laws and procedures is required to denounce Israel at the start of every session whether there is anything Israel related even to review, it does not matter as the bylaws require the denunciation of Israel before the session is permitted to continue. To point out that the Human Rights Commission is probably the only place outside of UNRWA where Israel is held in such unpopular esteem, makes it another lost cause. The rest of the commissions, agencies and organizations attached or circulating the United Nations all have their preconceived levels of disdain for Israel and her people and the reverse is surprisingly not necessarily a given, most Israelis have little care about the numerous appendages of the United Nations. So, thus far the threat by the United States President to stop support for Israel has absolutely no effective change as these areas are already universally against Israel by a large majority. That leaves the Security Council which is the one place where the veto power of the United States matters just as do the veto powers of Great Britain, France, Russia and China. So, it is possible that Israel might find another benefactor to provide the veto coverage needed. But would that be necessary? It would if Israel was concerned with everything the Security Council produced. There are basically three classes of resolution which the Security Council can issue, the Chapter Seven binding resolutions, the Chapter Six nonbinding resolutions and referential resolution which carry advisory weight and will likely receive more weight once should the General Assembly also validate it but still it would not be binding. The nonbinding resolutions passed by the Security Council are still heavy weight resolution and often carry the threat of being voted on again as a Chapter Seven binding resolution, and that brings us to the crux of the matter, Chapter Seven Resolutions. We have to face it that even if the President instructs Ambassador Samantha Power not to veto everything else, Israel will survive even if we may suffer a slight rash. But would President Obama instruct Ambassador Power to not veto a Chapter Seven binding resolution? Such a move allowing such a resolution to take effect requiring Israel to comply or face potential military force from the United Nations, and do not weigh such lightly as it was just one such Chapter Seven resolution which led to the Korean War, would President Obama, the Ditherer in Chief, actually deploy United States military personnel against Israel in order to back a Chapter Seven edict? To quote President Obama, “I was elected to end wars, not to start them.” It is our contention that the threat of not protecting Israel from every vote in the United Nations Security Council will only apply to Chapter Six nonbinding resolutions and not Chapter Seven where the United States veto would be utilized as it would not be prudent to set up a situation where United States military would enter into a shooting war against Israel. So, once again we see that President Obama has made a threat which costs him nothing and in the instance where his words would also require action by the President and the armed services, then the likelihood is that he will crumble before the pressures. Yes, Bibi made the correct choice to call the President’s bluff and listen to the Israeli people and forge a right leaning coalition. Now let us hope that Prime Minister Netanyahu can muster the stomach for some real pushback and he can start actually building and not pretending to support additional residences in Judea and Samaria. Also, start every cabinet meeting with a reading of the San Remo Conference Treaty as it is fairly short and Israel needs to get the reality of how much land we have surrendered which the Sinai Peninsula was a coequal part compared with Jordan which was built on lands set aside for the State of the Jews. Below is a copy of the San Remo Conference Agreement. Read it and remember it as it is a great place to start in communicating to every corner of the world who claim that Israel and the land promised to the Jewish People after World War I which had nothing to do with the Holocaust which had yet to occur and had everything to do with reinstating the Jewish People in their homelands. The restitution of the Jewish homelands was seen as a good and necessary step to start to make amends for the evils perpetrated against the Jews throughout the world and it was reasoned that restoring them to their Biblical Lands would make a great start. Let us press for this start to be made good and end the perfidy perpetrated today by the same governments under presumably more civilized leadership than in all of history yet they will require great amounts of jolts from the past, a retelling of the worlds they themselves transcribed at San Remo and made a solemn oath which must be attended to before the past no longer has meaning as history is no longer a vestige within the curricula where history has been replaced with lessons in proper acceptance of the new tolerance and acceptance which has little time or regard for promises past. Those who care not for the past will soon find themselves in the midst of it as it has a way of sneaking up on us with great stealth followed by a roar as it swallows the present whole immersing all in the retelling of tales of history ignored.

San Remo Conference Agreement


It was agreed –
(a) To accept the terms of the Mandates Article as given below with reference to Palestine, on the understanding that there was inserted in the proces-verbal an undertaking by the Mandatory Power that this would not involve the surrender of the rights hitherto enjoyed by the non-Jewish communities in Palestine; this undertaking not to refer to the question of the religious protectorate of France, which had been settled earlier in the previous afternoon by the undertaking given by the French Government that they recognized this protectorate as being at an end.
(b) That the terms of the Mandates Article should be as follows:
The High Contracting Parties agree that Syria and Mesopotamia shall, in accordance with the fourth paragraph of Article 22, Part I (Covenant of the League of Nations), be provisionally recognized as independent States, subject to the rendering of administrative advice and assistance by a mandatory until such time as they are able to stand alone. The boundaries of the said States will be determined, and the selection of the Mandatories made, by the Principal Allied Powers.
The High Contracting Parties agree to entrust, by application of the provisions of Article 22, the administration of Palestine, within such boundaries as may be determined by the Principal Allied Powers, to a Mandatory, to be selected by the said Powers. The Mandatory will be responsible for putting into effect the declaration originally made on November 8, 1917, by the British Government, and adopted by the other Allied Powers, in favour of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.
