The Status Quo is not Acceptable Mr. Prime Minister

The status quo on the Temple Mount is a form of making the Israelis and in particular, Jews, all into Dhimmis in their own nation and on its own grounds. Has Israel not annexed all of Jerusalem and made it the Capital City of Eretz Yisroel? Has Israel not a law as part of the Basic Laws, the closest thing Israel has as a constitution, which grants religious freedoms throughout the lands which gives every Israeli the right to worship as and where they please throughout all of Israel, especially in its Capital City and at its holiest place on Earth? If these are truths, then the status quo is most definitely not acceptable. Nothing about the restriction placed on Jews and Christians is acceptable or legal under the laws of the land. I should not have to even point this out as you are as aware of these truths as am I. If we surrender the Temple Mount, what will the rioters demand from us tomorrow, the Machpelah, the Cave of the Patriarchs, or Kever Yoseph, Joseph’s Tomb or the Western Wall, the Kotel? Where do we draw the line? Are you even capable of standing firm and drawing a line or are you now so cowed and removed from those days where you had exemplary bravery and stood for Israel. We will stand with you and if this continues you will see that at some point we will stand without you. When we stand without you, as it appears we may have to, will you then arrest us in the name of the ever shrinking status quo or will you finally remember the promises you gave when you sewed the brigade patch on your shoulder upon graduating the toughest training of your life? This was the fight that your promise was designed so you would pass this and the coming tests. I may not have served in the IDF but I did serve in a military before I made Aliyah and would step forward for the IDF the day they take people our age Mr. Prime Minister. Then we can stand shoulder to shoulder as we should do now while we visit and use a mikvah and enter the Temple Mount from any entrance and not the sole entrance with all the restrictions, where Dhimmis under the law of the WAQF enter, with care to avoid the central areas which may have been where the Temples stood. We can enter from the Lions Gate and be the Lions of Judah who resolutely stand against those who say that a Jew is not equal to other men. Let us have back the pride and rights which were foolishly surrendered by General Dayan in very likely the worst decision of his life, even worse than not being prepared for the invasion during Yom Kippur of 1973.

We took back lands illegally held by Jordan from 1948 through June of 1967. We pleaded with the King of Jordan telling him that the Egyptian and Syrian broadcasts of their great victories and their being on the outskirts of Tel Aviv were lies and the reality was they were being pushed back on all fronts and to please just sit this war out. He did not and attacked later that second day of the Six Day War and paid by leaving the occupied lands and they were returned to us and we could have made our nation whole. We showed timidity and listened to the outside world and simply prepared to return the lands we gained in order to placate the world. The world cannot be placated as they want Israel erased. While we continue to exist they will hound us and demean our existence as being a curse that must be dispelled. The Green Line is not sacred and once we retreat behind the Green Line there will be claims on the Negev and the world will support those claim and hound us to found a nation out of the Negev. Then the Palestinian state we allowed will claim they must have the farms in the Galilee reunited with their historic state because the Arabs there are being oppressed and cheated of their rightful freedoms. We surrender our rights on the Temple Mount then where is it our rights become uncontestable? We surrender the Temple Mount we surrender East Jerusalem. We surrender East Jerusalem we surrender Judea and Samaria. We surrender Judea and Samaria we surrender all of Israel for if Judea and Samaria are not part of the Jewish homelands there are no Jewish homelands. Once you start to take the path of least resistance and simply take the easy path it becomes very difficult to dig in your heels and make a principled stand. The slaughter of our holy men was not committed in any occupied lands, it was committed within the Green Line by what might be referred to as Palestinian Arabs but they were Israeli citizens, so tell me where do we stand? We cannot forget the assassin which attempted to murder Yehuda Glick for working within the system and who obeyed the status quo on the Temple Mount and gave him no immunity and in many ways he was any of us. We have seen the daily stabbings of Jews in Jerusalem, the regular attempts and successful instances of Arabs using their vehicles to run down Jews, especially police and those waiting in groups such as for the light rail, bus stops, and even waiting for the crosswalk to change just to cross the street. Assaults on relatives and others who dare to try to visit the tombs of their loved ones or of the many great scholars and rabbis buried in the Mount of Olives Cemetery face a gauntlet of rocks and bricks being rained down upon them threatening their very lives. Where do we draw the line and take back our country and send those who are stealing our lands and history and fill the world with lies which are being consumed with glee all around the globe, in the mainstream media both newspapers, television, radio, and especially on this world wide web, the Internet. There are those politicians throughout Europe, the United States and the vast majority of the United Nations as we see in every vote before the General Assembly, the United Nations Human Rights Commission, and from those charged with world policies such as the High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay, European Union Foreign Ministers, the former Catherine Ashton and her replacement Federica Mogherini, and heads of nations across the globe all see Israel as the expendable nation if it gains them any peace of mind and eases their current problems. The world may do as it pleases but if Israel is to continue then the status quo on the Temple Mount must be challenged and dashed into a million pieces destroyed beyond resurrection and Jews, Christians and anybody must be permitted full access from all the entrances to the Temple Mount and have freedom to pray as they see fit on the Temple Mount. If the WAQF cannot adjust and permit such freedoms, then they must be returned to Jordan with all the tenderness and care but as firmly as necessary. The Temple Mount belongs equally to the world and especially to the Jews for we have a three-thousand year history with this mountain top and thus we must keep safe for Jews their rights and freedoms to ascend to the Temple Mount as it is the closest we can be to Heaven here on Earth. Can we need any further reason? Can you?

I wish to end quoting a wise and scholarly man far wiser and observant and learned in Torah than I will likely ever be, all my desires aside, the great Rabbi Hillel who said, “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am not for others, what am I? And if not now, when?”

Israel Accused of Instigating Turmoil and Violence

Palestinian Authority leadership echoed the accusation against Israeli actions which Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas was whispering into the receptive ear of United States Secretary of State John Kerry as the two met in Abbas’s mountain top villa in Jordan. Apparently the Israelis are guilty of actually attempting to allow Israeli Jews to visit the Temple Mount which the Palestinians claim that such Jewish presence violates the sanctity of the al-Aksa Mosque which apparently includes the entirety of the Temple Mount rather than actually being limited to its actual structural limits, its actual walls. This is a new definition which replaces the former definition in which the al-Aksa Mosque was defined to include any areas in the front of the Mosque such as within some number of feet. That definition was meaningless as the Jews permitted after hours of waiting and invasive searches of their persons and being threatened with arrest if they transgressed any limitations and did not obey any orders, limitations or changes which may be communicated to them and they were forewarned that they may be forced to leave hurriedly should any confrontation break out. In the past few weeks it has been difficult to even allow any Jews to visit the Temple Mount as the Palestinians have been consistently rioting and threatening to assault any Jews which might be permitted even the shortest of visits on the Temple Mount. These riots are necessitated because Jews might actually visit the Temple Mount and this desire by Jews is the instigation which must be resolved by actions which will no longer permit Jews to enter the Temple Mount ever, period.

Alongside of these demands the Palestinians in the rest of Jerusalem have been rioting to even greater extent than their normal and acceptable levels demanding that Jews be disallowed from residing anywhere bordering their areas in Jerusalem. These riots have mostly aimed at any Jewish vehicles which may pass near their neighborhoods as well as launching assaults on police and other law enforcement personnel. These attacks and riots are also directly in response to the Jewish presence in any parts of Jerusalem, especially within East Jerusalem. There have been threats to riot and forbid Jewish prayers at the Western Wall though such are unlikely as security at the Kotel is strict and with a high number of enforcement personnel in place. It seems like it is only going to be a matter of time before these riots charge into Jewish neighborhoods and we have repeats of the Hevron and Jerusalem riots in which dozens of Jews were murdered and many more were injured during the 1920s and 1930s while the British were responsible for maintaining order. The results of these riots were to move the Jews from their homes and businesses in a measure by the British to placate the Arab anger. This was nothing but blaming and punishing the victims as the Jews were more likely to obey rulings and relocation than were the Arabs who began the riots in order to force the Jews out of Hevron so they could claim it as an Islamic city free of any Jewish influence and thus without any Jewish history. We are seeing the same pogroms except this time the inaction and futile words are coming from an Israeli establishment which appears to have taken the same position as the British, do whatever is necessary in order to keep the peace. Their desire is to restrict Jewish rights in order to quiet the Muslim sensitivities. The real unfortunate thing is that such actions only serve to increase the Palestinian levels and areas of their rioting in order to push the Israeli government placing new realities on the ground in order to claim more land especially to further restrict and remove any Jewish presence or claims of ownership.

All of this comes at the same time as the newly appointed Foreign Minister of the European Union, Italy’s Federica Mogherini, who has spent the entirety of her first weeks demanding that Israel surrender to the Palestinians’ demands for the formation of their state. She has demanded that Israel leave their rights to access to the Western Wall, Temple Mount and numerous other holy sites which exist in East Jerusalem and throughout Judea and Samaria, an area which is steeped in Jewish history, and surrender control, by that access to them, which is tantamount to the Catholics and Italians allowing some foreign forces control and forbidding their presence within Rome and the Vatican simply because they desire and now claim them as solely their sacred site. If one believes that such is even potentially possible then they likely have no understanding what sacred sites mean to so many peoples. This comparison is lost on the average politicians of the United States, Europe or just about anywhere in the Western world as the average politician has no religion beyond their political party and careers. They have no concept of how any person in this modern world could ever place any importance and invest so much energy and emotions over something as minor of any piece of land as to them land only matters if it is within their district or affects their big money providers. These single-minded obsessions of politicians are also slowly turning their hope to resist the growing influence of Islam in their nations.

In the reports of just the past twenty-four hours there have been three additional reported knifing attempts prevented, at least one attempted use of a car against pedestrians, and continued rioting on the Temple Mount and across East Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. Such reports of events are frightening and have been escalating thus far in a linear manner defined by its steep upward rate of climb making Jewish presence in some neighborhoods simply too dangerous for them to even drive past on major thoroughfares which pass adjacent these riotous communities. But fear not as Secretary of State Kerry has arrived to save the day. After his meeting with Abbas it was arranged to summon Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the Jordanian capital of Amman where the Prime Minister sat down facing Abbas, Jordanian King Abdullah II with Secretary of State Kerry mediating the talks. Prime Minister Netanyahu basically walked into a room where the other three men presented him with a done deal which the other three men had devised, put to paper and all but ratified requiring only Netanyahu’s signature of agreement to be the solution to the problem. Where it is not yet completely certain what was foisted on Prime Minister Netanyahu, but an initial sign has been the new position of the Israeli security personnel on the Temple Mount no longer to impose any restrictions on Muslim entry to the Temple Mount. It remains to be seen if they have also been ordered not to intervene when rioting ensues. A good guess would be that the Israeli security responsibility for the Temple Mount will have been confined to the periphery and some entrances and the Jordanian Waqf will now determine if and when any rioting has exceeded acceptable limits. We can also expect that Jewish access to this holiest of holy sites in the Jewish faith will be denied for some period of time until the riots fizzle out or potentially permanently forbidden entry. The latter, I fear, will be the truth and getting such a restriction rescinded will likely be next to impossible. Further, as the leftist who control of the media will be ignoring the assaults and threats on the Jews and Israelis by their Arab neighbors, they will quote the accusations made by Mahmoud Abbas verbatim and taking his every word to be the gospel truth worthy of repetition in the lead and closure of their every article. The reality is quite the opposite with the Palestinians restricting others’ rights to use the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, East Jerusalem and in time the rest of Jerusalem and eventually all of Israel.

Polls show that near 80% of Palestinians, if not over, support ISIS and desire to join ISIS should they ever bring their perceived strength against Israel as many Palestinians desire to be a part of the fighting as they perceive ISIS as capable of defeating Israel for them. They may be correct should the resistance put forth by the Israelis be restrained and constrained as it has been against the Palestinian Authority and their instigations and propagandas made with the full cooperation of the World’s leftist media who have been perfectly willing and eager to turn their pages over to Palestinian Authority lies and accusations as they too desire to destroy Israel. Perhaps they would reconsider if they realized that after Israel might fall their nations would be the next to be invaded and transformed into a Sharia state. The one item which allows for their mania is that Israel, when push comes to shove, will rise up and defend western values and western way of life for the rest of the western nations, not that they actually deserve such but because Israel will refuse to die just to make the elite in Europe and elsewhere to rejoice ever so briefly the collapse of Israel until the collapse of the west reaches their shores. The collapse may still strike much of the west even should the Israelis stand their ground and remain the last vestige and island of western values and sanity. All will be revealed in time but in the interim, could some of those who retain even a last vestige of sanity in the west please stand and scream until those in the halls of power, particularly the European Union, listen and understand the threats poised to subsume their way of life and revoke their freedoms. Such would be much appreciated and we await the signs of the beginning of the rescue of western thought and freedoms.

Secretary of State Kerry Declares War on Israel

Perhaps the best beginning for this report would be to simply quote Secretary of State Kerry in his own words. He declared in an interview with Israeli Channel 2 Television where he warned of “chaos” and a “third intifada” should the “peace talks” with the Palestinian Authority fail. He went into more detail claiming and asking, “Failure of the talks will increase Israel’s isolation in the world. The alternative to getting back to the talks is a potential of chaos. I mean, does Israel want a third intifada?” He continued threatening Israel stating, “I believe that if we do not resolve the issues between Palestinians and Israelis; if we do not find a way to find peace, there will be an increasing isolation of Israel. There will be an increasing campaign of delegitimization of Israel that’s taking place on an international basis. That if we do not resolve the question of the settlements and who lives where and how and what rights they have; if we don’t end the presence of Israeli soldiers perpetually within the West Bank, then there will be an increasing feeling that if we cannot get peace with a leadership that is committed to nonviolence, you may wind up with leadership that is committed to violence.” These threatening words came despite Secretary Kerry claiming that he has made “significant progress” in the last 24 hours. Kerry finished the day by telling reporters in Amman, Jordan after meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, “We made significant progress in our discussions about a couple of areas of concern in the panorama of the concerns we have.” Secretary Kerry’s final words were, “It is important for us to be able to proceed carefully and quietly.”

The change in his tone at the end of the day makes one wonder why he decided to use such threatening tones and language when speaking to Israelis on his interview on Israeli television yet spoke soothing words in Jordan where his comments would most certainly reach the Palestinian people. Could it be that the White House has decided that Israel is at fault for any lack of progress and that the Palestinians have done everything in their power to make peace possible? Does President Obama really believe the accusations coming from the Palestinian leadership that Israel with their settlements has made making peace impossible and that the Palestinians are the true seekers of peace while Israel which has made countless concession over the years while receiving only violence, death, terrorist bombings, rocket attacks, rock attacks on their highways and paid a price in blood beyond measure in the search for peace are standing in the way of reaching a peaceful settlement? Israel returned the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula for peace, offered the entirety of Samaria and Judea to Jordan for peace but Jordan released their claims to these lands remitting them to Israel only to change that pledge years later at the urgings of Yasser Arafat and the Arab League pledging the historic heartland of the original Hebrews lands which made up the kingdoms of Israel and Judea long before the ideas of Christianity or Islam had broken forth onto the arena of Earthly religions. Israel has sacrificed blood and land for peace and would move everything and anything necessary within reason for a true and lasting peace. The Palestinians, on the other hand, demand that whatever peace they agree to with Israel will be temporary as they insist that they retain the right to continue their resistance until the entirety of their lands are liberated and Israel has been erased and supplanted by Palestine and the Jews have been removed be it by being exiled from their homelands yet another time or simply slaughtered in a frenzy of jubilation at the eradication of Israel as anything other than purely Muslim Arab lands. Those are the truths the world ignores time and time again.

Some have asked why such obvious truths are ignored but the answer is not all that difficult to discern. That truth is that the world is aware that Israel is willing and has and will continue to make sacrifices in the name of peace no matter how absurd or hurtful those sacrifices may be while the Palestinians when pushed to make any concession for peace claim that as a bereaved people they must never be imposed upon and should such insane request be pursued any further they threaten violence which they will commit whether they are pressured or left to their own devices. The world realizes that the Israelis act as a civilized nation while the Palestinians destroy even those things gifted them in order to allow for their economic betterment. Such was the case with the greenhouses in Gaza which were immediately torn apart when Israel donated them in order to provide a ready and operating business to aid the Palestinians and instead made into rocket launchers and rockets with which to fire into Israel in attempts to murder civilians or whomever was unfortunate enough to be where these explosive projectiles struck ground. The world is aware that the Palestinians have utilized ambulances to move terrorists into positions to launch ambushes and also to move equipment and armaments with which to attack Israelis but nobody cares to pursue justice. On the other side, whenever the Palestinians cry that the Israelis have destroyed their olive trees or invaded the sanctity of their al-Aqsa Mosque, which entails any Jew being permitted to enter onto the Temple Mount, the world rushes to denounce Israel and do whatever the Palestinians demand as retribution to assuage their hurt feelings. That sometimes appears to be the only foreign policy that many European parliamentarians and politicians are able to pursue such and lately appears to have further infected the White House.

President Obama has often claimed to be the best friend that Israel has ever had in the White House. If the words spoken today by Secretary of State Kerry are indicative of the feelings and policies coming from President Obama and the White House, then please stop being Israel’s best friend and simply try to be an honest broker seeking a true and honest peace. I realize that seeking anything honestly may be a new experience for President Obama as he appears to have some difficulty with the truth. President Obama is especially talented at knowing nothing, much like Sgt. Shultz from Hogan’s Heroes. What many may not know about the gentleman who played the part of Sgt. Shultz, John Banner, is he spent part of World War II in Auschwitz as he was Jewish and somehow managed to survive, a miracle in and of itself.  But back to the serious subject at hand, what exactly is it that President Obama honestly wishes Israel to do concerning the Palestinians. We all heard his early first term demands that Israel return back behind the Green Line, that Israel freeze all building beyond the Green Line even including Eastern Jerusalem, for Israel to release terrorists in order to make an offer towards peace that the Palestinians would understand, and then there were the multiple insults against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu which included but were not limited to making Netanyahu enter and leave the White House by a side entrance instead of using the customary front entrance as virtually every visitor, refusing to hold a joint press appearance as is customary for heads of state after meeting with the President in the White House or anywhere else, deserting him to have dinner with his family and not only not inviting Netanyahu to join them but instructing him to consult with his aides and let the President know when they had decided to meet the demands President Obama had laid out which are unknown but were likely the same as those being demanded by Palestinian Authority Chairman Abbas, refusing to meet with Netanyahu in New York when both were there for the opening ceremonies for the United Nations General Assembly though President Obama did have enough time to spend close to an hour with the hosts of the television show “The View” which was being filmed in New York at the same time and finally President Obama when visited by Israeli President Peres, probably the one person in Israel who might actually agree with the views of President Obama, he met him in the Blair House across the street from the White House instead of in the White House as is customary. Other than these and numerous other statements and actions by President Obama and many within his administration, President Obama might have actually slipped a few kind remarks in about Israel in order to appease some audience. There was the famous line during the campaign where Senator Obama speaking to the AIPAC convention claimed that Jerusalem would remain the undivided capital of Israel; a statement that he backed away from and then completely contradicted numerous times going forward starting within hours of making the statement. One can basically figure that if President Obama or most of those in his administration speak kindly and in favor of Israel they are either making a grievous mistake or are on some mind altering drugs, but one can be assured they do not actually mean those statements.
