Terror War to Resume by End of Week, Will We be Ready?

News of terror attacks on Israelis have been curiously missing from the news since elections were announced after the vote in the Knesset to dissolve the last government largely due to acts against the government by two Ministers leading two of the parties in the coalition. This set up a situation where Mahmoud Abbas, Mohammed Deifs, Marwan Barghouti, Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Mashal as the leaders of Hamas, Fatah and the PLO have called for a ceasefire of sorts where terrorism is silenced until the Israeli elections. This is done so as to give Israelis a false sense of security and has occurred in the run-up to elections like clock-work. If it wasn’t for the political ads on the television, radio and in our mailboxes we would probably call for elections one week after each government took power thus having waged a successful war against terrorism. This would have a secondary effect of also making the government so dysfunctional that there would also be very few if any new laws and regulations and perhaps taxes might get reduced at some point. But the sad thing is that whoever gains the position of Prime Minister will attempt to hold power at all costs and that is where the problems lie.

There are a group of dangerous leaders of parties in the mix and some people running under parties which have merged to form what is being titled as the Arab block which includes a number of candidates who actually work to destroy Israel and support terrorism such as Haneen Zoabi and Ahmad Tibi, one actively supports Hamas and sailed on the Mavi Marmara and despite knowing of the plans to ambush and murder any IDF forces who would be required by the actions to prevent the ship from successfully running the blockade and the other had served as a top advisor to Yasser Arafat yet are permanent figures who have had the courts protect their rights to sit in the Israeli parliament of the Knesset. This alone should remove any and all claims of discrimination in Israel against Arabs but is ignored by the leftist who have decided the derision of Israel is their raison d’être. Also included in this Knesset list are communists, a party standing for the rights of alternate life styles and other small parties who will be able to be represented solely due to joining this group of assorted misfits of the political system. Then there are Tzipi Livni who heads a party whose name, Hatnua, translates to mean Party which means when the news refers to her party as Tzipi Livni’s Hatnua Party they are actually saying the Tzipi Livni Party Party which accurately defines the party as it was founded so Tzipi Livni could chase after her defined self-fated role as Israel’s Prime Minister. Another Party is Yesh Atid headed by Yair Lapid, a former television news anchor and another who entertains delusions of glory and a new future if only the Israelis would see things as he does which would include his sitting as the Prime Minister of Israel for life. The translation of Lapid’s party name of Yesh Atid is “There is a Future” which translates better as being there is a Lapid defined future which I would rather avoid.

The final piece of the election puzzle is this merger calling itself the “Zionist Camp” of the combination of the Labor Party and Livni’s Hatnua Party. What makes this an interesting scenario is that both Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog would be best described politically as being Post-Zionists who like Post-Modernists exist more for what they oppose than what they stand for. The Post Zionists no longer hold that Israel is the state of the Jews as much as it is a multi-ethnic multi-cultural democracy which is defined by its combinations of peoples and not so much by being the Jewish State. They do not believe that the Torah defines a Mitzvah to settle all of the land and are still enamored with the idea of “Land for Peace” in which if Israel would only give Mahmoud Abbas and his Arab Authority what they claim they want currently which consists of Judea and Samaria along with half of Jerusalem including every ancient Jewish holy site which would then be beyond the ability for any Jews to visit and mostly to be destroyed once again after being reclaimed and restored after the Six Day War when these lands came under Israeli control being liberated from Jordanian occupation after Jordan joined the war in the hopes of sharing the riches of a destroyed Israel. They do not believe Abbas when he speaks to Arab audiences in Ramallah and other Arab controlled and semiautonomous regions within Judea and Samaria where he calls for the liberation of all of his imagined Arab State from the “river to the sea” which translates to from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and includes all of Israel being conquered and made Judenrein, Jew free; a condition he also addresses when he speaks of the cleansing of this Arab entity and purifying its lands with blood flowing until the river run red. Such speeches can be found by searching the MEMRI data base or choosing items at random from their collection of Arab and Muslim speeches, news, television shows and more from the other side of the Arab and Muslim world which is mostly uncovered and unrevealed to the Western world as doing so would destroy the façade of a reasonable Arab and Muslim world ready to live at peace with the West. The Zionist Camp is calling for cooperation with the desires and demands from the White House and placing Israel’s future on the whims and fancy of President Obama and mending the rift caused by Prime Minister Netanyahu. This would entail an almost complete surrender without gaining even the slightest hint of peace or an end to the terror war.

So, who do we believe would make a better alternative than the Zionist Camp and Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog, Netanyahu? The answer is not Netanyahu nor is it Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog, remember that the last two come in a single package and as things stand they would take their turn as Prime Minister in that order. That in and of itself gives a great indicator of the lack of character strength of Hertzog if as the leader of the dominant party in their coalition he still allowed Tzipi to be the dominant one taking the lead even if her presence is mostly ignored by the campaign they are running. So, where could Israel seek a leader who might prevent a disaster and is not Benyamin Netanyahu? Eli Yishai would make an exceedingly good choice though he is too obscure to ever be considered and his party had merged with another and their combined parties will only barely make it into the next Knesset. So we have had to rule out the most desirable candidate, then who might be chosen by President Reuven Rivlin initially to form a coalition? The entire package which might be made which would be difficult unless every religious or leaning religious Zionist voted for their first preference instead of voting Likud out of fear of Hertzog and especially Livni getting their hands on the seat of power, then Israel might honestly have a possibility to find a leader who is dynamic and capable of standing up for Israel on the international scene and against the coming storm from the White House. This is also the person and party, Jewish Home “הַבַּיִת הַיְהוּדִי, HaBayit HaYehudi” leader Naftali Bennett, we have chosen to support though we also fully understand and agree with those who choose to vote for Eli Yishai and applaud their choice as well. We are also tired and truly fed up with Netanyahu all too often playing at being the true diplomat and polite in persona in dealing with United States President Obama and the leadership of the European Union as well as the independent governments of Europe and the entirety of the anti-Israel world, they will never be appeased as long as Israel exists. The unofficial but still deadly building freeze which Netanyahu has enforced is very much to blame for the rising price of housing and needs to be terminated. Hertzog/Livni will do worse, they will encourage and support demolition of Jewish communities beyond the Green Line to genuflect before and appease the White House. Naftali Bennett should be granted a chance to put his “No more apologizing” slogan into use as Prime Minister. He would hopefully stand as proud in the seat of power as he has on the campaign and be just as unyielding as he has portrayed himself and the members of his party. Perhaps Jewish Home really is our home and the home of all Zionists.

Some will point to the fact that Naftali Bennett himself has said he is not yet ready to be Prime Minister. Who is? Naftali Bennett has the drive and the willingness to directly address the problems Israel faces and has already addressed the biggest of them all, the overbearing drive for Israeli leaders to be constantly apologizing for Israel existing and that must stop. That will not happen with Netanyahu or the other choice of Hertzog/Livni that the media and power brokers have told us are the only choices. Hey, guess what? We can vote anybody into the top position simply by voting bravely for our true hope for the future, the religious Zionists who have the bravery of those who believe they have a real answer for the challenges Israel faces. Naftali Bennett if actually listened to and if one actually researched the voting pattern of his Jewish Home members in the Knesset one would see they represent responsible positions on economic challenges as well as on defending Israel and her right to exist as an equal amongst the nations of this world. The one challenge is Bennett claiming he is not ready to be Prime Minister. That statement was made as deference to Netanyahu more likely than any other reason. Truth be told, in many ways Bennett represents potentially the Israeli Churchill. People may not realize that Winston Churchill did not feel comfortable with becoming Prime Minister of England, especially as they were headed into a war, a very costly and difficult war. Israel has been in two wars, one with the Arabs who wish to destroy us and the other with the Western powers who believe by sacrificing Israel they will have satiated the Arab and Muslim appetites as all they desire is Israel and as the Europeans and President Obama see it, rightfully so do they desire Israel. Many in the West see the establishment of Israel to be a bad response to the sins of World War II and they are mostly ignorant of the San Remo Conference and all the rest of the history behind the formation of the Jewish State dating back to 1920 or even earlier to include the Balfour Declaration. Most of the history behind Modern Israel traces back to just after World War I and have nothing to do with World War II or the camps or the Nazis, it has to do with a debt by the nations of the world to allow the Jews to return to their brethren who remained in Israel surviving the desecrations and dissolution of the Jewish People by scattering them to the far reaches of the Roman Empire. Bennett may not feel ready but he will never be ready as being the Prime Minister is a huge step for anybody and Naftali is no different. What Naftali has proven is he speaks English well and gives an accomplished presentation of the truths about Israel and her history which included three-thousand-plus year history of residing right here between the Jordan River and the Sea with two tribes residing on the east bank of the Jordan River where they grazed their herds. Naftali Bennett may require having the mantle of leadership of our nation of Israel thrust upon him and then we can watch him either shrink, quite unlikely, or more likely, blossom into a great and historic figure placing him on a near par of the pinnacle the founders of Israel are placed. The best argument to vote Jewish Home and thrust Naftali Bennett into the Prime Minister’s seat is because other than Eli Yishai, Naftali is as close to Ze’ev Jabotinsky as we are likely to see in our times. So, if you deep in your heart would want Naftali as the next leader of Israel and were thinking of voting Likud because Naftali has no chance to win the Prime Minister’s chair, that will be true if you are too afraid to vote with your heart and love of Israel, take the chance, all of those who actually desire another choice than Hertzog/Livni or Netanyahu, then vote הַבַּיִת הַיְהוּדִי, HaBayit HaYehudi and then we will see a new leader and a capable leader if my gut feelings are correct. I see Prime Minister Bennett as the beginning of a whole new period in the life of Israel and the Jewish People. We owe it to the history and the future of Israel to vote exactly what our hearts and minds tell us but many refuse to accept, that we need to break from the rut of Labor or Likud, we need a fresh and new start. That fresh and new start is with הַבַּיִת הַיְהוּדִי, HaBayit HaYehudi and Naftali Bennett.

The blessing of the Israeli election being called early is that it truncates the electioneering to a short few months which is a very short time frame especially if the party plans on having a primary to determine their roster of candidates and their order which can be very important as nobody wants to be the person occupying the roster position one or two positions higher than the number of mandates garnered by their party. Such was the case in one of the primaries where a recount made the difference placing one candidate likely beyond electable position and in their place within reasonable expectations the person who otherwise would have occupied the cold seat beyond expectations. The brevity also allows for parties to misrepresent their positions and makes it difficult for the opposing parties to reveal and lay out the truth about their opponent’s positions and the ramifications of such. This has led to some strange situations where the nationalist parties have stressed security and a strong stance against Iran and Arab terrorism with the religious Zionist parties stressing retaining every inch of what is defined as the lands for the Jewish State and they are very firm on this point. At the leftist end of the spectrum we hear that the claims that Iran is a threat and terrorism is a major threat are simply ploys trying to scare the electorate into voting for the right wing and national Zionist parties. The leftists claim that what is the central point is that Prime Minister Netanyahu has been responsible for much of the terrorism and the threat from Iran is overblown as United States President Obama has stated he will prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons through the P5+1 Iranian negotiations and that the speech that Prime Minister Netanyahu gave to the United States Congress was simply just electioneering and grandstanding and held no resemblance to reality. They claim that the real challenge to Israelis are the high cost of living and the lack of the Knesset under Netanyahu had ignored the central issues of adequate and affordable housing, acceptance of same-sex marriage, lower food prices and a plethora of social issues pertaining to family cost of living, single parent homes, rights for non-Jews, and the pursuit of a respectful peace through the two states for two peoples framework. The left claim that they are needed so as to repair the relations with the United States, particularly with the White House as Prime Minister Netanyahu has alienated the relations with the President and strained relations with the United States to the breaking point and they know they can work with President Obama and together they will be able to reach a peace with the Arabs which will provide peace and an end to terrorism.

Never mind reality, we are talking about elections which are often removed from reality. The perception is that the two sides of the political spectrum not only hold different and even diametrically opposing views, they cannot even admit to each other the definitions of the problems facing Israel. The right sees threats on almost every front while the left sees mainly domestic threats. The right claims Israel must retain as much if not all of the lands of Judea and Samaria and definitely a unified Jerusalem. The left claims that by surrendering all of the lands beyond the Green Line including the eastern half of Jerusalem that there will be no change to traveling to visit the wall as there will be peace and thus an end to terrorism. Iran does not even appear on the leftist shopping list of problems while same-sex marriage and minority rights are nowhere to be seen on the rightist, nationalist agenda. Obviously both parties cannot be right and it will not be easy for the average voter who has not been all that attentive to the world situation and politics to discern which side is correct in identifying the problems before the Election Day arrives and they must vote. This is where the media has been less than forthright in their coverage of the elections. The media has ridiculed and been disparaging treating the claims from the nationalists who identify keeping a hardline approach to negotiating with the Arabs and not surrendering additional lands and are very wary of the nuclear program in Iran and the threat a nuclear armed Iran would pose not just to Israel but the world and the rest of the Middle East. The most egregious adventurism has been the cooperation and unified front being presented by President Obama, the European political elite and the world leftist dominated media in mocking the nationalists as alarmists and painting a picture of the world as being peaceful and not full of threats against the nations of Israel portraying the most pressing problems in Israel to be identified step for step in sync with the leftist agenda.

This plotting gets worse because the average voter does not have the time to research deeply into the problems of the times and easily is confronted with monthly bills, food prices, petrol prices, traffic delays and the plethora of problems in day-to-day living and they do not have the time to assess the world scene so they rely on the media for such information. As an example of the media slant one need look no further than the coverage given Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech before a joint session of the United States Congress. Nearly all the coverage quoted Minority Leader of the House Nancy Pelosi’s comments, “insult to the intelligence of the United States,” and it had her “near tears” through most of the speech. For the sake of repetition and in case you missed it; here is the entirety of Ms. Pelosi’s official statement,

The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests. Ours is a deep and abiding friendship that will always reach beyond party. Americans stand shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli people. The state of Israel stands as the greatest political achievement of the 20th century, and the United States will always have an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security.

That is why, as one who values the U.S. – Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.

Today, Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated something we all agree upon: a nuclear armed Iran is unacceptable to both our countries. We have all said that a bad deal is worse than no deal, and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons is the bedrock of our foreign policy and national security. As President Obama has said consistently, all options are on the table for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran.

This was very likely the most covered commentary on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s historic speech to the United States Congress. It also provided so many notable quotables that the media had a field-day choosing what each writer felt were the most damning words. But there were also the criticisms from President Obama who had some very specific complaints of the speech for somebody who attested that they did not see the speech but had perused a summary given before the speech of what Prime Minister Netanyahu would say. President Obama went to great lengths to insist that the choice presented by Netanyahu was between the deal which the President assured all was an excellent deal in the makings or war. Netanyahu’s alternative to the peace being sought by the P5+1 with Iran was war. The Prime Minister added nothing new to the conversations and his alternative was war. This last assessment is probably the closes to being factually accurate but still suffers from the greatest lie put out from the White House, namely that Netanyahu was proposing to go to war with Iran. Even before the speech President Obama was casting aspersions on the coming speech claiming it would offer nothing new, simply that the Prime Minister would claim that the peace being negotiated was inadequate and a bad deal and that war was necessary to stop Iran. The war claim was also omnipresent despite it being a completely false claim. What Prime Minister did say concerning war were the following quotes,

To defeat ISIS and let Iran get nuclear weapons would be to win the battle, but lose the war. We can’t let that happen.

This deal won’t be a farewell to arms. It would be a farewell to arms control. And the Middle East would soon be crisscrossed by nuclear tripwires. A region where small skirmishes can trigger big wars would turn into a nuclear tinderbox.

Now we’re being told that the only alternative to this bad deal is war. That’s just not true. The alternative to this bad deal is a much better deal.
Ladies and gentlemen, history has placed us at a fateful crossroads. We must now choose between two paths. One path leads to a bad deal that will at best curtail Iran’s nuclear ambitions for a while, but it will inexorably lead to a nuclear-armed Iran whose unbridled aggression will inevitably lead to war. The second path, however difficult, could lead to a much better deal, that would prevent a nuclear-armed Iran, a nuclearized Middle East and the horrific consequences of both to all of humanity.

Notable in these quotes is that in none of them does the Prime Minister expect or even desire that the alternative be war, he precisely stated the opposite when he proposed that the alternative should be a better deal. This was his comment which flat laid it out where he stated, “Now we’re being told that the only alternative to this bad deal is war. That’s just not true. The alternative to this bad deal is a much better deal.” His stand was definitely against war but instead he spelled out using the same sanctions which were used originally to bring Iran to the table in the first place, the same sanctions President Obama is so overtly anxious to lift off of Iran having removed many of them during secret talks held without even informing the other members of the P5+1 group which are France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany. History will note should a nuclear exchange emanate from the Middle East either between Middle Eastern and North African nations or launched in a first strike from within the Middle East on Europe or the United States or Canada that the situation was due to the releasing Iran from the economic sanctions without having first attaining a stronger deal that the agreement reached and that Prime Minister of Israel Netanyahu had warned that the sanctions needed to be reapplied and a far better deal needed to be the goal,

One might expect the above to be all over the media in Israel. It is almost nowhere to be found, especially not in the television or radio news or even in the majority of the print media. There are a few journalist and editorialists sprinkled throughout the print media such as Caroline Glick at the Jerusalem Post who give the nationalist news makers the recognition they deserve but are rarely mentioned by such as Haaretz, probably one of the iconic names in news around the world as it has an English edition which is politically right in line with the leftist Jewish audiences in Europe and the United States where it is almost considered the official representation of the news that is news. Instead you find every negative story imaginable against Netanyahu and favorably slanted coverage of Yitzhak Hertzog and little mention of Tzipi Livni as her name has polled as negative influence and that Hertzog is far more acceptable to the Israeli public thus Tzipi is ignored despite the rumors that she will be Prime Minister the first two years and Hertzog the last two years if there is still an Israel left to govern. There are now a mere five days until the elections.

The most unbelievable news which should be spread across the top of every news source in Israel, we will see today what coverage this gets, is the statement from the Palestinian Authority that they were arresting as many Hamas operatives in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) as they could find in order to prevent any attacks between now and the elections so that the people will be more inclined to vote for Hertzog and Livni than for Netanyahu and the nationalists. It has also been reported, unsurprisingly, that the Arab leadership is already salivating over having Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog as Prime Minister of Israel. The descriptions given of the two candidates qualifications they most profoundly admired were also revealing. They claimed that Tzipi Livni was responsible for the terms in the 1701 peace accord which was to be enforced by UNIFIL forces in Lebanon and the terms in this agreement were so lenient and poorly written that instead of preventing Hezballah rebuilding their positions and rearming, it had allowed Hezballah to rebuild, add onto their bunker and tunnel networks and resupply and add to their rocket arsenal increasing it twenty fold and also being allowed to gain longer range rockets and even some guided missiles which now enable Hezballah to strike all of Israel and to target reliably targets in central Tel Aviv and the Dimona complex in the Negev regions. And as far as Yitzhak Hertzog their assessment is that he is a weak and timid person who will be easily pushed and shoved into making weak deals which will provide the Arabs with the advantage in any dealings. The Arabs also note that both Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Hertzog have stated that they plan on repairing relations with the White House and forming an alliance with President Obama and using his guidance to seek a pathway to peace with the Arab Authority and pursue the two state solution stipulated in the Oslo Accords. They are expected to bring great rewards and potentially the downfall of Israel should they be elected and chosen to lead Israel. It is towards this end that all terror operations have been stifled and placed on hold until after the election so as to give the appearance that terrorism is over and the situation is ripe to make sacrifices for peace and that is the reasoning behind this quiet lull Israel is experiencing. Of course that is unless one decides to go up onto the Temple Mount. Enter the Temple Mount and the truth becomes evident, but that is of little matter as so few will enter the Temple Mount and those who do will not vote in a manner conducive to the Arab aims for the destruction of Israel once they gain all of Judea and Samaria and hold the high grounds overlooking the heart of Israel, a heart they intend to pierce with the same rockets which have made Sderot into a ghost town during the last war with Hamas in Gaza, that will be the fate of Tel Aviv and its surrounding suburbs from Ashdod to Netanya. Will five days be long enough or will Israel once again learn the hard way that Never Again was more than a polite phrase to be chanted at rallies and otherwise forgotten.

Israel Needs to Remember Why Elections Called

Before proceeding I should make a few facts known. First is I will not be voting for Likud for any number of reasons. Second is I would rather somebody with even stronger Zionist leanings lead the government as I am against ceding any further lands to the Arabs by any name as it will only further empower their demands for the rest of Israel, especially if President Obama, John Kerry and a bushel of Europeans and other anti-Zionist, anti-Semites are pushing to force Israel into surrendering. I would prefer to see a semiautonomous region be put in place allowing the Arabs to rule themselves while under IDF security and remaining part of Israel and perhaps should reason ever enter into the equation they be included into Israeli society, but not until their aim is not to replace or destroy the Jewishness of the state. Such is within the legal International Laws under which the Jewish State was to formed according to the San Remo Conference which remains the idea in international parlances under which Israel was formed and not by anything resulting from the Holocaust as so many believe and act. Israel was founded and defined in International Law and presumably backed by the British who controlled the lands after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I to exist between the Jordan River and the Sea as a result of the influx of Zionists and their political efforts. Finally, according to the International Laws pertaining to the establishment of the State of Israel the Arabs were guaranteed freedom to pursue their religious observances, freedom to own property, freedom to run their businesses and general freedoms with one exception, they were not set out specifically by the decrees to have any political rights as their influx into what was set aside for the Jewish state was viewed for its initial reasons, economic opportunity, and it was noted that the Arabs predominantly were not established as a unique peoples but as economic immigrants while the Zionists were seeking the reestablishment of a homeland for the Jewish People on their ancestral lands. It was within a mere few years after these promises were made to the Jewish People that the Europeans had second thoughts, especially the British, and the world has been working ever since to undo this act of righteousness and reverse their acts of establishing a Jewish State largely to placate the Arab world which refused to recognize the Jewish rights to their homeland despite it being spelled out in their Quran.

Now let us get back to the Israeli elections. Before we make what will very likely make a fatal error and place either Yitzhak Hertzog or Tzipi Livni in the position of Prime Minister, let us remember exactly why the election had to be called. The election was not called simply because Bibi Netanyahu desired dictatorial powers to mold Israel to his image. It was called because of largely the actions of two of the leaders of the two parties founded on their leader’s political grand mission to support their righteous and rightful ascendance to be Prime Minister. Both of these faux-messianic figures believed that it was their right to run their assigned positions as their own fiefdoms which were to independently run as if they were equal to or superior to the position of Prime Minister and acted as if the demands and rules which others were required to operate under did not apply to them and they were free to act as an independent wing of the government under self-rule unrestrained by other realities. This is what eventually led to the removal of Tzipi Livni and Yair Lapid from the government and thus new elections. The proof that neither of these individuals’ actions as if they had assumed equality with the Prime Minister and were correct in their reading of the tealeaves is the fact that Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid Party will have its mandates cut almost to half of what they had been before his actions revealed his true nature and aspirations and Tzipi Livni’s Hatnua Party was facing not making it into the Knesset as it was unlikely to make the threshold and her only route into the government was to deceive Hertzog into believing the Labor Party needed her and in exchange for the mandates she believed she could bring she was to finally be rewarded with her destiny, being Prime Minister of Israel and forging a peace with the Arabs at any cost.

Yair Lapid had been running his position as Finance Minister to fit his political ambitions as well as to fit his political outlooks. He had been withholding any funding which was earmarked for purposes which ran contrary to his political leanings, leanings which were almost diametrically opposed to much of the stances he pronounced during the campaign. Lapid ran a campaign based on a Zionist and nationalist set of principles with strong ties to the religious Zionist movement just somewhat less observant but aligned with their views of retaining much of Judea and Samaria. This did not prove to be the truth. Yair Lapid’s actual political view was himself as Prime Minister and that he, as such, would not be required to act within any restraints as were the other members of the coalition. Despite most of the media and political elite refusing to reveal the truth about Yair Lapid and his attempts to form a new coalition around his party’s mandate and a combination of parties who would join his coup and present a new government to the President as a means of his assuming the position of Prime Minister unseating Netanyahu amidst his having won the elections as people such as Yair Lapid must not be constrained and limited by the rules which apply to mere mortals, Lapid was above such restrictions and could play fast and loose with the rules which forced others to accept reality. This was also behind his reallocating funds or withholding funds as noted above in the hopes of releasing these monies to be directed to reward those who joined his newly formed government which he was found out and fired from his position for his treacherous actions.

Ms. Livni, on the other hand, had lost all sense of reality and instead had decided that she alone could finally reach that formerly unreachable peace if only that Benyamin Netanyahu would agree to give everything over to her to negotiate away through Secretary Kerry and Mahmoud Abbas. Tzipi Livni, it must be remembered met with and attempted to carry out negotiations with Mahmoud Abbas and John Kerry in a conference in London despite being instructed directly by Prime Minister Netanyahu to avoid any interactions with Abbas, but such restrictions obviously did not apply to her or to the negotiations she felt still were tenable. Another reason that the negotiations with Abbas were called off was due to Livni going beyond what limits were set on her by Prime Minister Netanyahu and she continued in making offers which exceeded the limitations placed on her power by the government as she too figured that she was destined to take control of the government’s actions and ruled unconstrained by realities. Tzipi Livni is another one who believes she has a destiny to complete as Prime Minister and then forge a lasting peace with Mahmoud Abbas no matter how much land is required to complete the deal. The situation became completely untenable that as Prime Minister Netanyahu began to try and restrain her from offering far more than the government would guarantee and attempt to prevent a disaster if any of her offers were to be accepted as she had taken the negotiation into untenable waters.

Both Lapid and Livni hold messianic complexes and believe they have been placed on the planet to accommodate historic and messianic fetes. They believe in their own hype and regard restriction as merely those guidelines which apply to lesser beings such as you and me. Lapid is going to likely have his wings clipped by the electorate, the force which quite often saves us from ourselves. The catch is that as Israelis we need to remember why these elections were called. Prime Minister Netanyahu did not seek new elections lightly but rather because the people were not being served honorably by two rogue members of the coalition and as such they could not be trusted to continue to act in the name of the people. Now the Israelis are about to make the same fateful mistake they made in the last elections except this time there will be nobody in the Prime Minister’s chair to rescue them as should the “Zionist Camp”, the misnomer being utilized as a cheap and tawdry play on words to mislead the average voter into believing the union of Labor with Livni has anything to do with Zionism as both are Post-Zionist in their outlooks, as such would place weaker candidates at the head of the government. Both Livni, when allowed to speak, and Hertzog are strong believers in the two state solution and are ready and anxious to do whatever is required to attain a two state solution. They have both chastised Netanyahu for not blindly following President Obama wherever he might lead to and have both pledged to follow President Obama to any extremes and doing whatever it takes to establish peace. They have both sworn to sacrifice all of Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem if that is what President Obama feels is necessary to finally achieve peace. Yair Lapid will likely retain some of the true believers who will follow him simply as a vehicle in which to be in the halls of power. Lapid believes that government can simply cure all the ills that plague a society by the judicial application of money and that he should decide where such money is spent thus empowering him to solve all the ills he perceives of needing saving. Both Livni and Lapid share messianic complexes just for different reasons. Still, we should not use this or any election to reward those who broke the rules as soon as they placed upon them any restrictions. Lapid is dangerous as he knows what he is doing and is willing to sacrifice the religious community in order to get what he desires. Livni is a true believer in the two state solution and will sacrifice everything in attaining this two state solution. She has lost sight of the original stipulations in which Israel was presumed to retain all of Area C and East Jerusalem and the remainder was to be negotiated as to where a border would be placed. Instead of demanding Israeli claims be honored she has taken the belief that any retention of lands by Israel is against International Law and thus Israel has no rightful claims. The reality is that the Arabs have no rightful claims to any lands west of the Jordan River, a fact even Jordan was aware of when they made their peace with Israel and surrendered any claims to lands west of the Jordan River, but let us not confuse Ms. Livni with facts.

To be honest, if Israel is to avoid yet another general war against combined Arab forces, then she is going to have to avoid anything which gives them a beachhead from which to make their preparations. To assure such we would need to select somebody to be Prime Minister who has strong Zionist beliefs backed up by both the International Laws and by religious convictions. There are some who make up such a combination of beliefs but none are viably in the position to be chosen to form a government, perhaps in time as Israel continues returning to her roots and regains religious convictions. Such a transition will take time but the signs are there and such a transformation may be in the near future and such would truly be a wondrous miracle. Until then we who foresee such a day coming for Israel must not lose our grasp on the electorate and need to vote so as to force governments to take note of the need not to sacrifice all in the name of acceptance on the world stage. The only hope we have is to keep the Lapids and Livnis from power and to assure that the government be made up of Zionist and nationalist representatives who value Torah and the promises as well as the admonishments contained within pertaining to the settling of the lands and the promises Hashem has given us as long as we stay on his truthful path and pursue truth and the establishment of Eretz Yisroel and dutifully thank Him for our bounty, nothing more and nothing less.
