Palestinian Peace Demands Piling Up Already

The first change which will have to occur before any peace negotiations can even be considered is an end to what is being referred to as violence in response to incitement which, according to United States Secretary of State John Kerry, is ever-present emanating from both sides. There is a simple description given by Wesley Pruden in his article Lies, lies and whoppers in the Middle East where he wrote the following;

The knife has become the weapon of choice in the Palestinian war against Israeli civilians, brandished as if it were a holy scimitar of the avenging Allah. The dean of a university in Gaza characterizes this campaign of the short knives as “military operations,” and urges that it be aimed at women and children. “The Jews of Palestine are fair game today, even the women,” the dean, Subhi al-Yazji, a learned doctor of Koranic studies, told an interviewer on Hamas television. “Every single Jew in Palestine is a combatant — even the children, breastfed on hatred for the Palestinian people.”

But lest one forget the reason for the current flare-up and heightened violence, the talk of restarting peace negotiations were circulating in the West as a necessary step for progress in establishing any Palestinian State for the Arabs living west of the Jordan River in what were previously lands occupied by Jordan before the Six Day War. Now the demands are for an end to the incitement and the violence such that the world can work towards a lasting peace through resumption of negotiations. One had better get ready for yet more, grander scale, and more violent targeting schools targeting children, synagogues targeting the religious, and places of public gathering such as malls, cinemas, bus terminals and similar places where people congregate in vulnerable masses. The incitement in the Arab Palestinian media, schools, religious institutions, children’s programs, social media, and other venues to increase with emphasis on the rewards of martyrdom resulting in an increase of attacks including possibly suicidal-homicidal-bombings as demanded by Hamas of both their own members in Judea and Samaria as well as challenging the members of Fatah and the PA (Palestinian Authority) both of which are headed by Mahmoud Abbas. All signals evident here in Israel are actually worrisome as this is one of the first times we have heard of demands and expectations from a new source, something many will have to take my word for as there has been such little news coverage that we were able to locate; the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for attacks in Israel on Israeli women and children. These incitements will be completely ignored by much of the world media as translating Arabic is just far too difficult and bothersome to look into Arab incitement. Fortunately, should one desire to avail themselves of such translations then simply spend a weekend reviewing the plethora of translated news and other items including incitements, sermons and lessons plus their textbooks and maps where Palestine replaces all of Israel which is what is taught in their schools and madrassas including those within Israel can be viewed in part available online at CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America), MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute), and PalWatch (Palestinian Media Watch). One afternoon or slow morning spent sampling any of these sites and getting a flavor for things many have never suspected as it has been a closely guarded secret in much of the Western world.

What we really desire to discuss is the first salvo being fired demanding for Israel to meet the Arab demands in order to sit down with the Arab negotiators. This leads only to being insulted and slandered in the discussions and too much of the world media and then be blamed when the Arabs walk out of the negotiations calling Secretary Kerry and all others who actually thought these were honest talks fools and then claiming the Israelis forced the end which all too often is echoed in the Western media as factual. Actually this will have been just a ruse to get more sacrifices from the Israelis and pocketing a promise here and there for the future sources for demands to be made on Israel and forced on Israel with Western help. This initial demand was voiced this week by PA foreign minister Riad al-Malki who demanded when speaking to Kol Yisrael radio, “a return to the status quo that existed since 1778.” He further demanded for Israel to stop collective punishment and withdraw all its troops from “occupied areas.”

This all begs the question of why the PA Foreign Minister would demand a return to a time under Ottoman Rule unless the desire was to demand something completely out of the question such that it could then be claimed that Israelis are not interested in peace as they refuse to meet even the most basic and reasonable preconditions which are simply actual obligations of promises the Israelis made as we understand their positions. This is a blatant lie but as long as nobody bothers to ask exactly which demand is it that Israel promised which you claim they are refusing, then they can continue to claim with vague references that Israel has refused to meet their obligations and until the obligations as we have reported months ago are met there can be no peace. That they are calling for the complete withdrawal of all Israelis from everywhere beyond the Green Line as well as a return to Ottoman Rule of 1778, unless the report was mistaken but even if they got one number wrong, even 1978 or worse, 1878, make little difference as it has nothing to do with the date but with obstructionism by Mahmoud Abbas and his merry band of miscreants.

Perhaps this might be a good time to review the actual demands made ever since Yasser Arafat founded the PLO with the assistance of the KGB training and assistance and Mahmoud Abbas at his side from Moscow to Ramallah. This was in 1964; a full three years before there were any “disputed territories” as the 1967 Six Day War was nowhere to be seen even in the early planning stages. So, what was it that the PLO claimed to desire to liberate to form their Palestinian State? Israel, every last inch of Israel at which point they had claimed they would merge it with Jordan as Jordan was the true Palestinian Arab homelands and all of Israel must be incorporated into Jordan and the Jews removed from the lands. That desire has only altered slightly in that there is no longer any mention of joining with Jordan as to admit such would defeat their entire complaint that the Jews have stolen their lands. Their demands for all of Israel have not changed and is the reason why they cannot allow any agreement to be signed as doing so would defeat their entire raison d’être which is the founding of their Arab supremacist state on the graves of the Israelis and their homelands. The real reason is that they believe that all lands which have ever been part of the Arab or Muslim kingdoms must never be permitted to fall into the hands of the kafir, especially the kafir Jew. This is the basis for why there can never be peace as long as the State of Israel exists. That is the reason behind the insane demands and the reason for the walking out on every peace talks as they close in on an agreement and that is why this conflict can only end when one side has been eliminated or so beaten and driven from the lands that they no longer exist to demand anything. Simply put, in the end there can be only one nation between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. For who do we bet will persevere? Well, as there are already twenty-two Arab nations whose origins exactly match the PA Arabs origins and there is only one Jewish State and should it fail the Jewish religion will almost assuredly all but disappear from the face of the Earth, our bet has been placed on Israel which is amongst the reasons for many Jews to be living here leaving often much comfort and assured easy life and future to fulfill the dream and predictions made over three-thousand-years ago to both Abraham and Moses, and why they performed their miracles and we must now make our own miracles and realize that all things come through Hashem.

There is one very basic and simple question which nobody dares to ask and if asked the answer is drowned out by the bellicose cries of Israeli Apartheid is the reason and the debate is settled. How dare you challenge the accepted narrative! Well, when the quiet truth goes orphaned from the conversation, how in all that is holy and logical falls to the side and gets discarded as useless to the discussion. The problem is that the discarded realities are the sole reason that there is an Arab-Israeli conflict today and the truth is so simple and easily validated that it surprises almost every curious individual who inspects the historical records. So, what exactly occurred that spawned the modern discontent which threatens peace and tranquility and has been the source of casualties of a terror war for almost a century. The history goes back to the 1917 Balfour Declaration which declared the existing Jewish rights and claims to the lands on both sides of the Jordan River and on to the Mediterranean Sea just as described in the Old Testament and also recorded by the Persian Empire, the Greek Empire and the Roman Empire as well as written of by the Crusaders, Mark Twain wrote of the area in his treasured work describing life in the Holy Lands and other historic writings and records from the Ottoman Empire and the British Mandate records. The Jews had always resided in this area even if only a remnant of the entirety of the Jewish peoples. They had almost exclusively made up the majority of the population of Jerusalem and a large proportion of the population of Hevron. The return of the Jews to their ancient and historic homelands began about the midpoint of the 1800’s and continued throughout the decades that followed independent of any outside forces. During World War I there was a Palestinian Brigade which was completely made up of Jews from the Holy Lands. These Jews and their bravery were much of the impetus for the Balfour Declaration. Contrary to popular myths, Lord Balfour was not Jewish. The Balfour Declaration was adopted by the winning nations of World War I at a conference named after the city where it was held, the San Remo Conference of 1922. Immediately after the Balfour Declaration and kicking into a higher gear after the San Remo Conference, Arab unrest threatened even the British troops charged with facilitating the conclusions of these two treaties. In an attempt to placate the Arab demands for their own state on the same lands as those reserved by the aforementioned treaties the British made a deal with the Jewish Zionists. They guaranteed that all of the lands of the British Mandate west of the Jordan River would be preserved into perpetuity for the Jewish State guaranteed by the British Crown in exchange for permitting a state for the Arab residents of the British Mandate, also referred to as the Palestine Mandate, for the Arabs in over seventy-five percent of the lands which covered all the lands east of the Jordan River to the Iraqi border. Thus was Jordan born initially called Transjordan. The Jewish State was not initially declared as it was presumed that over time Jews would eventually become a majority. Reacting to Arab pressures the British placed one difficulty after a blocking of Jewish immigration on and on assuring all the time that an Arab majority remained preventing the declaration of the Jewish State. Eventually came World War II and once again there was a Palestinian brigade which was constituted of Jews from the Holy Lands. Once again the British promised to form the Jewish State immediately after the war. Again they broke their promises to the Jews and did everything in their powers to prevent the Jews from Europe, the refugees of the concentration camps, from reaching Israel instead herding them into what could be called concentration camps without the crematorium. Eventually, even the British were unable of preventing the Jews from making their way to Israel, to what they believed to be the only salvation which would provide for Jewish freedom and a future.

At long last the United Nations in its formation took on the promise for founding a Jewish State when they internalized the edicts from the San Remo Conference and the Mandate System when under Article 80 of the United Nations Charter took those specifics under the auspices of the United Nations to finalize the ideals and ideas of these historic treaties. This is where the real sources for the problems today became inevitable despite any and all efforts to mediate an equitable resolution, the one thing the Arab world could not accept. The United Nations General Assembly on November 29, 1947 made a nonbinding resolution proposing an even division between Arab and Jewish States within the lands remaining from the British Mandate west of the Jordan River. The Arab League simply need only accept the offer and the Arabs within these lands would have gained their nation on the vast majority of the choicest lands west of the Jordan River. The Jewish relegated lands would consist half being the Negev Desert, a coastal strip from Tel Aviv to Haifa and a small section in the northern ridges of Judea and Samaria leaving the entire farmlands of the Galilee as part of the Arab declared state. The Arab League met and issued their response to this proposition. They refused to accept the formation of a Jewish State no matter how segmented, no matter how much was wastelands and desert, no matter any area as they refused to recognize any size of Jewish State. The Arab League refused to accept half of the lands simply because they refused to accept a Jewish States of any dimensions or size. The Zionist Jews agreed anxiously and willing to accept anything as their own lands from where they could begin to build and make a future for themselves and to form a state in which all Jews could eventually come to and make their homes as a people. From the declaration from the General Assembly of the United Nations the Arabs living in the lands west of the Jordan River began a series of pogroms attempting to destroy any chance for the formation of a Jewish State. This was the beginning of the Arab war efforts to destroy the Jewish State both before it was founded and ever since. Despite the Arab riots of Hevron where Jewish businesses and homes were set to the torch and dozens of Jews were murdered and scores injured. In response to the violence the British took harsh actions and relocated the Jews to Jerusalem gifting Hevron to the Arab rioters. This led inexorably to the Arab riotous pogroms in Jerusalem where the British again stood aside initially only intervening when the Arab rioters threatened the British troops themselves.

Finally came May 15, 1948 and Israel declared her independence and was invaded by the armies of more than a half dozen Arab nations and numerous independent militias including the one fanatical group led by the Mufti of Jerusalem who had recently returned after spending almost the entirety of World War II as a guest of the Nazis and supervising the Muslim troops who were left to cleanse the Balkan States and did so with efficiency and a great zeal pitted in hatred leading to brutality that even shocked the Nazi troops in the area to the point that they attempted to distance themselves from those troops under the Mufti’s command. By the eventual end of the conflict which continued off and on for almost two years only coming to an end in 1949, this led to Israel holding the borders referred to as the Green Line, the 1967 Lines. These were actually formed as the 1949 Armistice Lines which the Arab League demanded they be denoted as simply Armistice Lines and never to be used as a border as to allow them to be a border would mean they had recognized the existence of the Jewish State of Israel. From 1949 through to June of 1967 Jordan had control of Judea and Samaria, renamed the West Bank, and Egypt held the Gaza Strip. During that entirety of near eighteen years there was absolutely no attempt made to form an Arab state by any name as Muslims already held the lands so all was as they perceive it should be. The PLO was founded with the assistance of the Soviet Union and the KGB in 1964 with the called for in its charter the liberation of Palestine by which they meant all of Israel as there was no occupied lands before 1967 unless Israel is the lands you consider occupied. That is the dirty little secret, Israel is the occupied land at any size, be it including Judea and Samaria, the West Bank, or be it before June 1967 and Israel inside the Green Line without Judea or Samaria, the West Bank, and without Gaza.

Across Europe countries are recognizing an Arab state without any declared border being declared by Mahmoud Abbas or any other Arab leader. The one constant that is known is that should Abbas and the Arabs be granted a state and its borders are restricted to the areas of Gaza, Judea and Samaria outside of the 1967 Lines that they refuse to consider such recognition as being a reason to end the conflict with Israel. Mahmoud Abbas has made a point as part of his refusals of offers which included as much as ninety-five percent of Judea and Samaria and all of Gaza with land swaps to make up all differences, he has refused these offers because they include the end of hostilities. The problem with the making of an Arab state west of the Jordan River by any name is meaningless as far as ending the conflict as long as it allows for the remaining existence of a Jewish State. As long as Israel continues to exist the Arabs will continue to make claims that the Jews are occupying their land. The problem has never been the lack of an Arab homeland; it has been the existence of the Jewish lands. All one need do to realize this truth is to peruse MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute, translations of speeches made by Abbas and his fellow Arab leaders as well as the speeches of leading Arabs from throughout the Arab world and one will realize the reality that it is the existence of Israel that infuriates the Arabs and the destruction of Israel is their sole raison d’être. Perhaps the European governments might ask Abbas and the rest of the Arab leadership exactly what borders they are willing to accept to end the violence and terror war before they decide to grant them a state which is undefined and left to their wildest hopes to define after the fact. The response would likely be informative and potentially surprising. But the Europeans are simply attempting to feed the alligator hoping they will be eaten last and they would gladly sacrifice Israel for fifteen minutes reprieve from their eventual self-imposed coming fate. Israel does not plan on accepting the role of sacrificial lamb for the continued existence of Europe for an extra few months or so. Perhaps Europe and the whole world would be better served to repair their own houses rather than attempt to sacrifice Israeli homes. Israeli homes are not up for being sacrificed no matter what the eventual desires of the rest of the world may decide. Israel was before, Israel is now, and Israel will remain after.

State Department Demands but Offers No Suggestions How

It’s not that the United States State Department is alone in making these demands or criticizing Israel for protecting their citizens too well resulting in more Palestinian fatalities and injuries than Israeli fatalities and injuries. There have been the same complaints from throughout Europe from their European Union down to members of their respective Parliaments to even media and editorial personnel, spokespeople for various NGOs, Statements from the Vatican and just about any Tom, Dick or Harry who can find a microphone or access print media or internet connection. About the only exceptions have been the military field commanders and the people at the Pentagon, in other words anybody who has an appreciation for the Israeli tactics, their success and their honorable manner and lengths the Israelis go to avoid civilian casualties. The one standout exception has been the Palestinian Authority Envoy to the United Nations Human Rights Council Ibrahim Khreisheh (UNHRC)  who responded to a question about joining the Rome Statute and then file complaints against Israel at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for having committed war crimes, Envoy Khreisheh replied, “The missiles that are now being launched against Israel – each and every missile constitutes a crime against humanity, whether it hits or misses, because it is directed at civilian targets.” After making some obligatory criticisms beating the Israel crimes of occupation and settlements tripe regarding the contested areas, Envoy Khreisheh continued stating, “Many of our people in Gaza appeared on TV and said that the Israeli army warned them to evacuate their homes before the bombardment. Such a case, if someone is killed; the (international) law considers it a mistake rather than an intentional killing, because (the Israelis) followed the legal procedures. As for the missiles launched from our side – we never warn anyone about where these missiles are about to fall or about operations we carry out.”

Getting back to the State Department, spokeswoman Jen Psaki at a news conference briefed reporters complaining, “We ask (Israel) to redouble their efforts to prevent civilian casualties. We believe that certainly there is more that can be done. The tragic event makes clear that Israel must take every possible step to meet its standards for protecting civilians from being killed.” The comment made by Ms. Psaki were a simple restatement of the coverage being reported about the current conflict across the Western World and much of the rest of the media even to the point of making onto John Stewart’s comic narrative on Comedy Central utilized theater of the absurd rhetoric to the excited pleasure of his audience with every word and phrase simply dripping with contempt and vitriol over the fact that the Jews in Israel are not being killed fast enough. There were some bits of reality and truth even in his ham-handed approach to the conflict in that he noted that where Hamas does not warn either side of their rocket launches, the Israeli do whatever they are able in notifying both the Israelis and the Palestinians of their intended targets and when to seek shelter of an incoming attack. He has, as have the rest who criticize the disparity in casualties, demeaned Israel from developing the Iron Dome system and building literally thousands upon thousands of shelters including making a safe room mandatory in every residence constructed. Apparently it is something to be loathed that Israel spent their resources and invested their efforts largely to protect their civilians while Hamas simply built an extensive hardened series of tunnels and virtual cities underground where the Hamas operatives and fighters hide and they not only leave their people above ground and unprotected buy have actually sent civilians to provide cover for their rocket launchers knowing that they are being targeted. You have probably heard about the four young boys who were struck while playing soccer on the beach. What has been left out of those reports is that they were told to play soccer on that beach because it had numerous rocket launchers there and the intent was to prevent them being struck. The real difference between Israel and Hamas was best stated by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu when he stated, “The difference between us is simple. We develop defensive systems against missiles in order to protect our civilians, and they use their civilians to protect their missiles.”

Israel is about to get pummeled in the media and in international circles as they begin their ground offensive in order to be less destructive and less threat to civilian human lives while they clean out the supplies of rockets, explosives and other terror weapons from the entirety of Gaza and, if we are very fortunate, hobble and cripple Hamas, Islamic Jihad and all the other terror entities beyond their ability to recover such that peace will finally become possible. The reason that Israel is bothering to utilize troops on the ground instead of completing more of the destruction of Hamas and Islamic Jihad resources from the air is to once again minimize the harm and inconvenience to the residents of Gaza. This will be denied by the spokespersons of Europe and numerous NGOs even to include many far leftist Israeli NGOs. The reality is that if Israel wished to destroy the vast majority of the extensive tunneling that Hamas has built from the air, they have that capability. The problem with using air power is that Hamas has built a very large complex and have positioned many of their weapons caches underneath protected structures. They have a known rocket storage facility directly underneath the main Gaza hospital. To destroy that storage from the air would entail dropping bunker busting bombs to detonate immediately under the hospital destroying it in the process. Technically, that hospital was made into a viable military target because of it being used to protect munitions buried beneath its foundations. Israel would technically be within their rights to destroy the hospital in order to destroy the rockets stored beneath the building. Israel has chosen to risk their soldiers rather than destroy hospitals, mosques, schools and other civilian structures under which Hamas has built their cities underground. If Hamas would simply allow their civilians to take safe haven in the Hamas underground installations, the death toll of Gazans would be greatly lower, but that would not feed the Hamas media blitz of pictures of dead and horribly wounded Gazan civilians against Israel. Hamas celebrates all deaths on either side in the conflict. They prize any Israeli casualties or even the inconveniences of having to take shelter numerous times each day and the disturbance of regularity their rockets inflict. Meanwhile they also celebrate every injury and death of a Gazan as it provides that media camera picture which will be utilized to sway sympathy for Hamas and hatred of Israel, something they and the compliant media are very good at accomplishing no matter how distorted or outright lying they have to do in order to paint Hamas as noble and Israel as a blood soaked monster.

That brings us to the final complaint, the media, and in particular, the Western media, listening to the reports primarily on American radio and television news. One might mistake the news for the rantings of John Stewart except they are less amusing. Just about every report I was able to hear had at least one interview of a Palestinian complaining over how they had to flee their home after receiving notification that it was about to be struck. Most reports were careful not to get the quote if they included that it originated from the Israelis. They all mentioned the four young boys who were simply playing soccer on the beach and were murdered by an Israeli strike. There was no mention that they might have been using rocket launchers to mark the goals or boundaries for their game. They all gave the listing of casualties as stating that only one Israeli fatality had occurred compared to hundred or two hundred Gazan Palestinians being killed. No breakdown that at least half of the Gazan fatalities have been Hamas or Islamic Jihad rocket launching teams struck in the process of setting up rockets to fire into Israel or immediately after firing into Israel. They mentioned that the Gazan often had only minutes to escape attacks from Israel after being warned of incoming strikes. They left out that many Israelis have between fifteen seconds in Sderot to as much as ninety seconds in Haifa and a sliding scale for distance can predict the time for other cities in Israel. They also omitted that the warnings received by the Gazans were provided by the Israelis and not by Hamas or Islamic Jihad. The coverage of the conflict was so slanted and that is before we note that for the three weeks while the rocket fire steadily increased reaching hundred rockets and mortars per day, there was no mention of these attacks in the news coverage. The first time there was any mention of the rockets raining down on Israelis was after Israel finally had enough and responded and then they were mentioned more as if they were in response to the Israeli strikes, not the cause of the Israeli strikes. Is it too much to ask that the news be reported factually and leave the bile, spite, hatred and poisonous penmanship for the editorial pages? Obviously, when it comes to Israel the old blame the Jews canard still rules absolute.
