Obama May Have His Deal but Who Will Inherit His War

 

Thanks to the economic and other sanctions which have hobbled the Iranian economy to the point, about eighteen months ago, it resembled a dying man crawling on his belly in tattered pants and the shreds of his shirt, shoes scuffed to the point that their original color was indistinguishable and two vultures already discussing which would get which of the choicest remains, had Iran at the brink of civil revolt. That was when President Obama held back door negotiations where he released some of the most effective of the sanctions which brought the distant oasis to the parched lips of the Iranian economy saving them to make the better deal. It is that deal President Obama, the hero of the Iranians government, is claiming is the best deal and the only option outside of war. But is this claim of peace in our time really just peace for a while in our time? The comparisons between the Munich Accords of 1938 and now President Obama is desperately seeking the same adulation for this close relative to another situation of a nation spreading its tentacles and preparing for war and barely even concealing their arming and their aspirations which have been laid out in writing. The desires for world conquest and the elimination of the Jewish People was laid out step for step by Adolph Hitler in Mein Kampf and the Iranian Shiites (and also the Sunnis just to be fair and even; after all we would not want to take sides now, would we?) in the Quran and the Hadiths where the world is divided between ‘Dar al-Islam’ (Arabic: دار الإسلام‎) which translates to House of Islam and ‘Dar al-Harb’ (Arabic: دار الحرب) which translates to House of War. The followers of Islam are instructed to continue their struggle to spread their religion until it becomes the only religion practiced anywhere in the world. There are many Muslims residing in Western nations who refute any charges that Islam is to be spread ‘by the sword’ should more passive means prove unproductive and there remain some who adamantly refuse to accept Islam which is simply intolerable.

 

Then there is the Islamic State which has denuded entire cities and swaths of lands in which they have taken control of those who practiced any religion other than not only Islam but their very narrowly defined version of Sunni Islam. The marauders of the Islamic State may have been the Junior Varsity in the eyes of United States President Obama but are anything but the Junior Varsity when it comes to torture and coming up with ever more imaginative ways to ever more slowly murder their victims making sure that they suffered the most mental anguish, even if not the maximum pain, as they progressed from beheadings to burning alive to slowly being lowered in a steel cage into water to drown victims and other horrors and then posted their murderous ways using them as some form of sick recruiting tool. What is even more disturbing are the numbers of those who have rushed from across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the rest of the Western World to join the Islamic State. The only productive news concerning Iran is they oppose the Islamic State and desire to eliminate this horror from the world. But then one must ask themselves, is replacing the Islamic State horrors with Iranian, Syrian and Hezballah horrors really a step in the right direction or simply replacing one murderous and fearsome army turned government with another murderous government using its army.

 

These are the leaders of a nation of approximately seventy-eight-million-five-hundred-thousand largely Shia Muslims of which the vast majority are what are referred to as “Twelvers” with the remainder of the population being also largely Muslims following Sunni Islam. The remaining under one-percent of Iranians follows the following religions in order from largest to least; Bahá’í, Gnostic, Christian, Yarsanism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, and least but with a very nice Synagogue, the Yusef Abad synagogue in Tehran pictured below, Judaism. Interestingly, there are more Jews of Iranian heritage residing in the United States than remain in Iran which according to the 2011 Iranian census stated this threatened populations of Jews at eight-thousand-seven-hundred-fifty-six souls the majority spread between merely ten families, six of them related by marriage. There are those who inflate the numbers of Jews remaining in Iran to over one-hundred-thousand largely in an attempt to portray Iran as an accepting nation granting equal rights to non-Muslims despite the fact that the minorities walk quietly and taking care to be aware of their surroundings at all times and making sure to keep their heads bowed and their gaze fixates on the ground before them and to never under any circumstance stare any Shiite Muslim in the eyes and to always speak in hushed tones speaking in slow and respectful manners and subservient language never to sound challenging or to ever, ever appear as an equal lest one be reported to the police for such an affront and pay the price for challenging their superiors. There is a very good and solid description of life in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution for Jews and other minorities given by Karmel Melamed, an award-winning, internationally published journalist and attorney based in Southern California who writes the Iranian American Jews blog. This article titled ”The Iranian-Jewish Tragedy in Iran” which gives the chilling view which the Western World needs to understand before they permit the fascist, supremacist dictatorial leadership to once again, in the brief history from 1900 to the present, to allow a cancer which believes they have a right to destroy the world in order to save the world. The history of Iran in that same time period just might give people some pause to realize the direction Iran has taken since 1900 and the path is chilling.

 

 

Yusef Abad Synagogue (Persian: Kenise e Yusef Ábád کنیسه یوسف آباد‎, Hebrew: בית הכנסת יוסף-אבד‎) in Tehran as originally appeared during the 1950s before its restoration. The person who had just completed returning a Torah to the ark will stand as a reference to the size of the main hall. The main hall of the Synagogue was built and completed in the early 1950s. She was a very ornate and majestic house of worship which will soon fall silent after enjoying hearing prayers recited for almost seventy years.

The brightened tiles and golden hue will unfortunately turn a pale shadow of itself as there will be no prayers to give her the joys she had exalted in over her years.

 

 

Iran did not exist in the year 1900 as all the way back then it had a name that most will recognize and for the Jews had a varied history where it went from savior to creeping to the edge of committing genocide against the Jewish People except for the bravery of one Jewess, Queen Esther. All the way back as recently as March 20, 1935 the nation was known as Persia. This name of Persia could be traced back to Cyrus the Great, the leader of Persia who conquered Babylonia and granted the Jews the right to return to their homelands and rebuild their holy Temple which many Jews chose to do while some of their brethren remained in Persia. Years later when Persia was ruled by King Ahasuerus (Xerxes I) the Grand Vizier, Haman the Agagite persuaded King Ahasuerus that the Jews were plotting against his rule and needed to be dealt with. This seems to be a repeating theme and almost always leads to someone coming up with the idea that murdering the Jews will make their nation greater, and the order was issued. The problem was that after the King created a vacancy after executing his wife for refusing his orders and generally insulting his authority for which he held a beauty contest, hopefully a contest which took into consideration more than beauty as that had worked so well with Vashti. Well, he chose Esther who the night before the order was to be carried out bravely entered the King’s court without having been invited, punishable by death, begged the King’s attention and broke the news that if his Grand Vizier Haman’s order was to be carried out they could start with her as she was also a Jew. Haman and his sons were executed on the very gallows they would have murdered the Jews of Persia. Haman, Hamas, I wonder, could there be a connection?

 

On March 21, 1935 Reza Shah Pahlavi officially renamed Persia changing the name to Iran. There are two very different theories for the change. One refers to numerous ancient references varying from the Sassanid, the Zoroastrianism, the Romans and other historical references mostly to deal with language. A more modern take takes the date and the rise of the Nazis to power in Germany and the theory of a master race, the Aryans, or the Persian word for the racial designation, Iran. The actual reason is likely was only honestly known to Reza Shah Pahlavi and he will not be giving us any hints. Another item while we are comparing modern day Iran and the Aryans from World War II as a potential enemy; the only war which Iran had fought directly was, to their credit, something which will seldom be found in these editorials in any source, was as a result of Iraqi initiated assaults as Saddam Hussein attempted to grab the Iranian oil fields. That war lasted near to a decade where some of the most horrific and destructive tactics were utilized by both sides. Despite the Iraqi military’s reputation as one of the largest and best trained and equipped in the Middle East outside Israel, Iran held them at bay and often made gains but eventually the war resembled a World War I trench warfare than world war highly mobile and technical war. The most remarked attack in this horrific war came when the Iranians needed to clear minefields and needed to do so with some degree of speed so a fairly brutish and head-on system was necessitated. The Iranians initially attempted to stampede mules and donkeys across the minefields but once the first animal struck a mine the others would scatter and run back the direction they had come from. This led to one of the most disturbing tactics where children were volunteered and upon their death their parents were financially compensated for their patriotic donation to the war efforts. The children were given plastic keys which they were told would unlock the door to heaven for them. In response to the condition of the returned remains led to the wrapping of the children in wet blankets so as to retain their parts when they hit a mine. Such fanaticism and willingness to sacrifice for the religious leadership was horrific and also showed a commitment almost beyond rational belief and which shows the length the Iranians might resort to against an enemy.

 

The question remains as to whether President Obama is saving the world from a war with Iran with his deal or allowing Iran to build up their military and potentially arm themselves with an arsenal of nuclear weapons, potentially thermonuclear warheads and the ICBMs with which to deliver them anywhere on the globe. They may even develop ICBM missiles capable of irregular flight characteristics making anti-missile systems near useless in preventing their striking their targets. Additionally, the Iranians could readily develop cruise missiles and master the ability to launch them from freighter container ships as they have done with some of their fifteen-hundred to two-thousand mile largely unguided rockets, or possibly a poorly guided missile. Of course, if the rocket has a nuclear warhead, exactly how accurate does one need to be? I mean, as long as you strike within a few miles from the intended region and, just as with hand grenades and horseshoes, close counts. What is most worrying is how the situation came to this juncture with the sanctions being weakened by President Obama allowing Iran to continue to limp along while the President and the State Department Team, which included a number of the same people who were responsible for the agreement with North Korea which led directly to their becoming nuclear armed nation, and Secretary of State Kerry appeared to trip over each other seeing who could surrender point after point and succumb to Iranian demands the fastest. The sign that Iran is about to use a fair amount of funds which will represent but a drop in the bucket of the one-hundred-fifty-billion-dollars being unfrozen and gifted to the Mullahs and the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei as they have already made arrangement to purchase Russian S-300 anti-aircraft-and-missile systems, one-hundred-fifty Chinese Chengdu J-10 sophisticated jet fighters with Israeli avionics and finally, two-hundred-fifty highly-advanced Russian Sukhoi-Su-30MK1 heavy-fighter-bombers as well as one-hundred IL78 MKI tanker aircraft; or simply put, Iran is purchasing an entire air force and air defense systems taking them from almost no air power worth mentioning to air superiority by comparison and potentially air superiority over the Kurds, Islamic State, and almost every nation in Northern Africa and many European nations as well. As the nations which Iran is most likely to face if they decide to expand their borders and acquire the airfields and staging areas of southern Iraq, as it appears that President Obama is fully supporting the IRGC forces and eventually other Iranian military forces to operate from within Iraq and Syria against the Islamic State with the United States providing air strikes and air support operations one has to wonder how President Obama might react should Iran decide to turn their forces southward and strike across the Kuwaiti and Saudi Arabian oil fields in response to what they could claim was mistreatment of Shiite Muslims by the two nations after incidents were instigated.

 

The other front we can expect to come from Iran is for their expanding the influence of Shia Islam across formerly Sunni strongholds spreading their control over Madrassas potentially replacing Wahhabi Madrassas after they have swarmed across the oil fields, complete their control through the Houthis of Yemen and then using a pincher attack from the north and the south in order to capture Mecca and Medina and thus controlling the heart of Islam. This would also complete Iranian control of the Red Sea and the Bab El-Mandab Strait. From that jumping off point it would not be difficult for Iran to then establish a beachhead from which to operate starting in Somalia and spreading from there through Eretria and Djibouti in order to spread through the Sudan and from Iraq and Saudi Arabia into the Sinai thus being on Egypt’s southern and eastern borders. Should Iran also desire to place a substantial force injected into Syria to assist Bashir al-Assad retaking the lands he has lost and using Hezballah to cement their control over Lebanon then Iran could have a northern and southern fronts on Israel and even more troubling should they also gain access to Gaza supplanting Hamas and Islamic Jihad in controlling the area. We can also expect that Iran will fortify their ground forces with purchases of armor most likely light armor to facilitate fast swarm style attacks overwhelming any defense an opponent would be likely to have at any front relying on lighter resistance and by overwhelming the initial positions and driving deeper into any nation they intended to strike thus appearing unstoppable and gaining a perceived position of strength which would also give the Islamic State considerable challenge especially when one considers that Iran will have a very well-armed air force, something completely missing in the Islamic State’s arsenal of abilities. The likelihood that President Obama would take any position opposing any Iranian moves in the entirety of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) as such would be viewed as Iran simply doing exactly what President Obama desired, Iran stabilizing the entirety of the Islamic world, and what better way of being the hegemonic power than to also control all of the valuable lands and suppressing every potential adversary.

 

It would not be a complete surprise if should Iran manage to take control in Egypt that the Muslim Brotherhood might ‘see the writing on the wall,’ so to speak, and decide they had been in error about the lineage and correct successors of Muhammad and turn to back a Shia Islam. The truth is that there will either be a war with Iran or Iran will bring the war to each and every corner of the world one site at a time. The only question is at what point will their expansions be one bite too many and at what disadvantage will the world be in when facing the Iranian threat. History will point to the past decade and a half as the period when Iran could have been collared with minor losses and as being an opportunity squandered placing the world at risk. Once again, it appears the greatest threat building in the world is being left to Israel to stop. Let’s hope that Israel gets the necessary support of those others facing the same dangers or be willing to take on the task themselves. This is one time we can know that the United States has nobody’s back or if they do, then it is the worst of all possible scenarios placing Washington solidly behind Iran as President Obama had tilted his entire time in office, even with his efforts to place the Muslim Brotherhood ruling Egypt or turning a blind eye to Erdogan suppressing Turkey turning it into a Sharia state and potentially joining with Iran. At the very least, a combining of the regions and its people into an alliance of Israel, the Kurds, the Druze and the various Christian strongholds be brought together and aided to eliminate the Islamic State, thus putting Iran on notice that they should carefully consider their next moves as they will make all the difference in the world. As a result of removing the Islamic State, regions of Syria and northern Iraq will now be known as a state for the Kurds in the area originally promised the Kurds for Kurdistan at the end of World War I but not fulfilled due to the Mosul oil fields and politics as usual. The Druze will likely be granted some degree of autonomy within those areas in Syria where they reside and the refugees should attempt to put their lives and country back together and learn to live with a multi-ethnic nation. Further, as Hezballah has shown so much concern for Syria perhaps they can live there and maybe the Bekaa Valley but the rest of Lebanon is to be a Christian refuge free and resolute to act with favor on the Christians of the entire area and make a nation from the ruins left by Hezballah. Such a solution would be so nice and clean which is why it is unlikely to come into fruition. As Winston Churchill told the British Parliament “You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war.” and additionally from his writings from “The Gathering Storm,” “If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds are against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves.” May some heed the warnings that many in the leadership positions in Israel be joined by those in Europe, in France, in Germany, in Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and even Greece raise their voices and call for those who cherish the G0d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob not succumb to the forces of those of Abraham, Ishmael and Mohammad, Amen.

More seriously, the entire agreement can be viewed here with link to our source a Russian publication, and it is not as much reading as you have heard as over three-quarters of the agreement is a list of sanctioned companies and other entities listed one per line often with descriptions and specifics also listed one per line taking up much of the rest of the agreement, all included on our page. The agreement is a breeze to read unless you want to reference the part of this part as per Annex I or Annex III or even as per the Roadmap, whatever that was, and references to other agreements or normative schedules and one thing I did find that was quite straight forward until you try to figure out how these terms might be defined by Iran as versus how France or other concerned parties might interpret them and then this becomes a web of intrigue. Here is this part about inspections, their intent, how they are to be requested and under what limitations;

“Requests for access pursuant to provisions of this JCPOA will be made in good faith, with due observance of the sovereign rights of Iran, and kept to the minimum necessary to effectively implement the verification responsibilities under this JCPOA. In line with normal international safeguards practice, such requests will not be aimed at interfering with Iranian military or other national security activities, but will be exclusively for resolving concerns regarding fulfilment of the JCPOA commitments and Iran’s other non-proliferation and safeguards obligations.”

So, who defines “good faith,” “sovereign rights,” “minimum necessary,” “normal international safeguards,” and “will not be aimed at interfering with Iranian military or other national security activities,” really, they expect for any time Iran wants to play hide the smoking gun HEU (Highly Enriched Uranium) that there will not be a ton of accusations of being too invasive and spying until the site has been cleared and after six months they finally allow access? Am I just overly sensitive and paranoid or might there be something here to be concerned about? Then there is the fact that Iran will be responsible for upgrading their Arak heavy water reactor to minimize its plutonium production and that inspections will be made to verify the alterations. How will such a determination be confirmed when one unnamed nuclear state built an entire fake control room to pass such an inspection while carrying out their research in order to produce nuclear weapons and the fake control room satisfied those sent to carry out the inspections as the gauges were correct and looked the part and the people manning the controls seemed intense and serious but the entire setup was a ploy and it passed. Making me all the more comfortable is that the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) will be responsible for the inspections and they are further restricted by the last phrase in the same paragraph as the above now stating a further restriction

“In implementing this procedure as well as other transparency measures, the IAEA will be requested to take every precaution to protect commercial, technological and industrial secrets as well as other confidential information coming to its knowledge.”

And who gets to define “confidential information” not to mention “commercial, technological and industrial secrets” as I am sure these cannot be interpreted in such a manner that a military enrichment site accidentally revealed through an unauthorized casual conversation with a delivery person, a soon to be very dead delivery person, or other less than brilliant secret holder, would not that be something that would be considered compromising by Iran and thus coming under these restrictions? We already know that the IAEA is better at keeping quiet than they are at actually turning the world upside-down to get to the truth. It is safer and easier to not cross Iran than to spend the rest of your days, no matter how short that may end up being, looking over your shoulder with great amounts of suspicions and trepidations. I will tell you now that if I were assigned to inspect Iran and was even allowed in by the Iranians in the first place, should I find anything resembling troubling my reaction would be exactly the same as Sgt. Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes and I would be seen walking around saying things such as, “I see nothing” and “This time, Col. Hogan, you’ve gone too far” and “Are you trying to get me sent to the Russian front?” which might actually be applicable in this instance as well. Then there is this little gem,

“if the IAEA has concerns regarding undeclared nuclear materials or activities, or activities inconsistent with the JCPOA, at locations that have not been declared under the comprehensive safeguards agreement or Additional Protocol, the IAEA will provide Iran the basis for such concerns and request clarification.”

Clarification, there is a word which is meaningless in the midst of an agreement that requires a linguist, a rocket scientist, a wordsmith, a nuclear scientist, and a magician to understand, and not to worry, Iran will be providing an illusionist and an escape artist along with their interpretations and explanations just to assist with their obstructions.

 

Reading the mitigation procedures has two fifteen day levels that run subsequent and another five day intense mitigation period after which it appears that then the filing party can file a complaint with the Security Council of the United Nations and then if they are still unsatisfied they are free to pursue remedial actions as they feel necessary. That’ll work REAL good! There appear to be far more schedules and instructions for relieving sanctions and making amends by releasing funds and arranging all sorts of other mitigations. The spacing and paragraph breaks (carriage returns for older folks like my peer group) and spaces and tabs arranged in numerous and varying combinations seemingly just to make find/replace in order to rid the document of these wastes of space, memory in files, and headaches for those attempting such cleansing of the document and I am sure was also used to make the number of pages more impressive as after editing the document, it was, as a whole, approximately thirty-five percent fewer pages in my Word file (your savings may differ due to different font, font size, spacing, margins, and general and specific preferences). This was made all the more obvious when according to references from Buzzfeed late Tuesday it was noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry appears to have published a full text of the agreement on their website and the text is some 159 pages long. Even our copy of the full deal as on the Russian site we found it still was well over three hundred pages on Word (same disclaimer as above) and despite leaving entire lines with a few numbers, a company name, the description such as ‘vessel’ as in a ship followed by its registry number in the following line and the owning company in the line above and we all know there was absolutely no manner of formatting which could have reduced those three lines into at most two and more often just a single line, heavens forbid as everybody knows that the more pages used to print and publish an agreement and the more weighty the tome the more impressive and validated any agreement is perceived to be, thus the sometimes ten or even more lines wasted between sections. Another reason for the extensive and cryptic formatting was that they could spend weeks upon weeks arguing over the exact format for each section and again how each section was to be separated from the section before and after it as well as other format issues. Such puts me in the mindset of how I felt upon finding out that the Viet Nam War negotiations held in Paris spent weeks at the outset standing and debating the size, shape and seating at the table they would eventually agree upon and need to order such that neither side felt slighted or inferior. There was one thing I did notice was that the sections which referenced the specifics which Iran had to meet the spacing was far more complex and rendered parts difficult to discern their actual and accurate meaning until the formatting was rendered to something resembling normal while the sectors explaining those things which were in Iran’s favor were far more normally spaced and the wasted lines could have been explained that the wasted spaces were intended to delineate items and make them near impossible to be misinterpreted. There was one item I found outright painful, and it oddly enough was not executing the reformatting as I found two algorithms which neatened up large sections very nicely, which was the intentional use of referencing to outside documents, the reference to the Annexes, all of which simply stood to make interpretations more easily twisted and applied as well as the dependence of Iran to be forthcoming and cooperative and the number of items which were to be arranged and enforced between Iran and Russia, as that could never go awry.

 

So, we have an agreement which will be interpreted by people in very likely broadly different manners and we will find that all sides will be able to read into the document exactly that which they desire to happen and not to apply or apply requirements and implementations which will assist in their desired endings. We also have an agreement which has entire sectors which depend completely on Iranian compliance enforcement, Iran being forthcoming with vital information necessary for actually being able to enforce the terms and stipulations and all of it also will heavily depend on Iran self-policing and having complete honest sincerity in all dealings and not to engage in delaying inspections and providing complete and candid forthcoming on all items even to include reporting if and where they open clandestine enrichment facility which would kind of ruin any concept of a clandestine enrichment, wouldn’t it. Placing the onus for any part of an agreement of such magnitude and of vital importance onto Iran to police themselves after knowing that they had broken numerous stipulations of the previous framework agreements which were vital for the numerous extensions, one after another, with each extension bring a poor deal to a bad deal, to an awful deal all the way to a downright dangerous deal which in all too many ways will prove unenforceable. The one truth to come out of this arms agreement is that President Barack Hussein Obama will have his legacy which will empower Iran potentially thrusting them into a level of leadership of a higher level than they currently possess in the Middle East. Another possibility is the agreement might also empower every last terrorist group supported by Iran such as and not limited to Hezballah, Hamas, IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) and other terror forces in the three cities of the tri-border area in South America where the borders of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet and are populated by Hezballah in addition to the IRGC and other terrorist operatives who often arrive to receiving training at one of the three cities in the region which serve as home for the terror masters, operatives and trainees; Ciudad del Este, Foz do Iguaçu and Puerto Iguazú (see map below)

The one thing that is guaranteed is that there will be shrill voices and booming baritones claiming the wonderful aspects and the dreaded coming events and wars because of this deal for the next year and a half as this will be carried on through next November milking this agreement for every political point which can be bled out of it. The ones praising the brilliance and great deal of restraint the deal has forced upon Iran will accuse the detractors to the deal of continuing to kick a dead horse, exactly as they claimed on those opposing ObamaCare and those who deny that any climactic changes are caused by people while those being castigated in such a negative light will reply accusing the other side as being led by their noses and wearing blinders in order to only see that which they have any desire to see. The not so wonderful thing about this situation is that both sides are right about this being carried too far as there may still be a way to alter Iranian desire to build a nuclear arsenal through sanctions but it may require the world cut back on Pistachios as well as oil. The biggest fear is what a nuclear armed Iran would actually do. Would they attack Kuwait and Saudi Arabia or at least grab ahold of the oil fields from both nations whose sole economic health is reliant on those oil fields. Then Iran would be gobbling up the remaining Gulf oil states down the Persian Gulf to also grab ahold of the other side of the Straits of Hormuz giving the Iranians total control of this vital waterway.

 

Further, what else might Iran do with nuclear weapons? There is the chance that Iran would decide that it was not receiving sufficient air, logistical and manpower support when engaging the Islamic State and simply detonate a single tactical nuclear weapon over their headquarters during a period of time they were holding a meeting so as to catch as many of the top leaders of the Islamic State and thus cause dissention and doubt amongst those who thought ISIS really was the invincible return of the Caliph and the establishment of the next Caliphate which would in time rule all of the earth under Sharia as they interpret the Quran and the Hadiths. Such a calamity would spell the end of those dreams and the nightmares they would have wrought on the world. But stopping ISIS would only empower an even greater threat, and even greater evil, Iran and their delusions of being the chosen of Allah to subjugate all and put all of mankind on their knees prostrate facing Mecca. Yes, they would demand we surrender all dignity and prostrate ourselves facing Mecca and the Kaaba (Arabic: الكعبة‎‎ Meaning is ‘cube’) at the center of Islam’s most sacred mosque, Al-Masjid al-Haram (Arabic: المسجد الحرام Meaning literally translated as “the sacred mosque”). Held within the Kaaba is a fragment of a meteorite, a black rock which is described in the Quran with a quote attributed to Mohammad claiming that the Black Stone had “descended from Paradise whiter than milk but the sins of the sons of Adam had made it black.” Which brings us to another belief that the leadership of Iran and has been announcing since 1979, first by the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran the first Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini and now by his successor Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei that Iran should and will, if it is Allah’s will and Allah does indeed will it, for Iran to take control of and tend to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. This high hope has often been stated and exclaimed while also including other holy places which hold great importance to Shia Islam such as the holy city of Qom (Persian: قم‎) in Iran and in Iraq the holy cities of Najaf (Arabic: النجف‎) and Karbala (Arabic: كربلاء‎) which are currently being contest for control between the Islamic State or ISIS and the Iraqi military backed by Iranian IRGC forces who are expected to win the day despite the less than stellar performance of the Iraqi military forces. These leaders of Iran and of all Shiites also strive to take possession of the great responsibility of tending the highest holy sites in all of Islam of Mecca (Arabic: مكة‎) and Medina (Arabic: المدينة المنورة‎) which were all the cities mentioned initially by the Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini and was not until much later when the Iranian Shia leadership saw inroads through Hamas to open additional front that they could manage to aid Hezballah did the mention of Jerusalem come into their lexicon where it slowly evolved and may finally be cracking into the top five, but definitely as the Arab Palestinians tell the story, the third holiest site in Islam. One might wonder when Jerusalem will best Medina out of the number two slot though Medina has held the number two slot for quite some time when it fell from the number one slot it held while Mohammed rose his army in Medina but when he conquered the city of his birth, Mecca, his true allegiance became obvious as Mecca became the top city and Iran means to one day soon add Mecca and Medina to their list of possessions which may come quicker than anybody realizes. Once the Iranian backed Houthis take control over all of Yemen, Iran will be able to open their second front from the south coordinated with their forces in Iraq to the north and a main force entering through Kuwait in the efforts to takeover Mecca, Medina and the Saudi, Kuwaiti, Bahraini and other Gulf States’ oil fields cementing Iran as the leader of all Islam and the holder of all the cards as they by themselves will be the entirety of the oil replacing OPEC.

 

The full ramifications of establishing this agreement with Iran and the clearing of their path to nuclear weapons will depend on whether they plan on waiting a decade or decide to take the potentially hundreds upon hundreds of billions of dollars about to come flooding into their coffers and improve the life of the people or go full steam and head-rushing their way to miniaturized warheads simply by warming up to Kim Jong-un and buying his plans or purchasing possibly more advanced warhead designs from China or Russia in order to show their appreciation for their support during these negotiations. The easy prediction is that the world will realize the extents of Iran’s goals faster rather than later as once they possess nuclear weapons the real game starts and all bets are off as to the number of lives it will cost to end their visions of supremacy and world domination. Do not get this wrong as if the leaders of the world play cutesy with Iran and attempt to mollify them as they did in the mid to late 1930s with Hitler they will be giving Iran the Arabian peninsula, Iraq, Yemen and Oman followed soon afterwards the world will probably applaud Iran as they bring the rule of law and establish order as they extend their growing conquests through force of arms and negotiations with a weak and intimidated, risk averse and conflict avoidant Western World adding Somalia, Eretria and Djibouti giving Iran a foothold in the Horn of Africa from which to threaten Ethiopia, South Sudan, the Sudan and Egypt from the south while threatening Egypt from the Sinai and Arabia Peninsulas. From there they would likely co-opt Turkey through an alliance and then take revenge as Persians on Greece for the conquest and ending of the Persian Empire by Alexander the Great, and yes they remember their defeat and will seek to avenge that degradation and Greece is in no shape to resist or fight back. This would place them on the doorstep of Europe and the NATO nations would likely defend Greece with the great and forceful war plan used by France and Britain to defend Czechoslovakia from Hitler except they would hand Greece over in one chunk and not bother with giving half of the islands at a time. After Greece, who knows where next, the entirety of North Africa followed by Andalusia (Arabic: الأندلس‎), which is called Spain since the Inquisition freed Spain from Muslim rule starting in 1492 (a date not particularly celebrated by Jews as we lost just as big if not more so than the Muslims as Spain desired to rid themselves from all non-Catholics which included Jews as well as Muslims except the Jews had no weapons or armies, so guess who paid for any Spanish loss and on the other side the Muslim of the Umayyad Caliphate who also used the Jews as a group upon which their angers could be easily pointed as the Jews made for easy, low-risk targets so we lost on both sides of the Inquisition.

 

After such a move the Muslims would be at their high water mark before Christendom became militarily more advanced and began pushing the Muslims out of their conquests resulting from their breakout from the Arabic Peninsula in the early and mid-eighth century through to the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1917 though the decline started around the mid-seventeenth century. The next rise of Islam may well be under the leadership of a nuclear powered Shiite Islamic revolution which will first convert the now majority Sunni Muslims likely with a ferocity formerly not seen in modern times until the bursting of ISIS onto the world’s stage though the Assad Family had their atrocities and there have been others such as the terror for so many under Saddam Hussein, it is just ISIS was chosen by the media to emphasize and place their atrocities before the world to view and feel a condemnatory rage. What the reason behind such a media exposure we may never know but, in the terms of old showmen everywhere, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!” As others have said, hold on to your hats as the ride is about to begin and it is going to be a wild ride. Like any old-school rollercoasters, the ride may start slow but watch out for that first step, it’s a doozy.

Is the United States Allied with Shiites Against Sunnis?

 

This must be a question fermenting and fomenting minds across the Middle East and beyond into North Africa and around the world where Muslims reside, meet, mingle and discuss the political intricacies of the hour. The evidences could be actual tactics and planned policy or it could be only innuendo and hyperbole caused by the situational ethics, policies of the moment, sole remaining available alternatives, or the preferences of the man in the White House, President Obama. The truth is that come later January of 2017, a potentially long eighteen months plus a week give or take a few days and the foreign policies of the United States could take as violent a swing as they did when President Obama set out to be the most un-Bush-like President in American history. Will we see a return to the dull and predictable and similar policies as we had with George W. Bush? Not very likely. The one consistency in the Presidency is the lack of consistency in the Presidency. One would be hard pressed to find two consecutive Presidents whose policies and mannerisms in any manner or way resembled their predecessor which often is considered a good thing. Even after a popular President who often served two terms, a full eight years, at some point usually early in the second term the media finally starts to turn and from there it goes directly downhill and by the time inauguration day both the American people and the President themselves are anxious for them to leave Washington far in their wake never to return. With time the opinions of a President begin to average out between their high points and their lowest lows to somewhere which will resemble their standing in history. So, whether President Obama has chosen to support Shiite Islam over Sunni Islam is an intentional policy or the result of situations and a culmination of events leading him without his realizing how his actions may be perceived, in the end it really does not matter. Still, there will be those who will assign great importance, as has already graced many an article and editorial, both supporting and critiquing the President’s actions with both sides and assigned credit or blame all being pretty evenly split such that I have no idea which side of this is brilliance and which should be taken for buffoonery.

 

What we outside the world of Islam think, feel, argue or critique is of far less importance than what is the opinions of the leaders of the Sunni and Shia Islamic worlds; the Imams, the national leaders and the Muslim peoples themselves are where the consequences will be formed and fall. The thing the rest of us should fear is should alliances in the Muslim world start forming either favoring, fearing or targeting the United States become reality and end up forcing future policy alternatives and resulting in a United States firmly stuck on one side of this divide and because of such the rest of the world choosing up sides accordingly and then not only will the Muslim world be split in adversarial camps but the rest of the world also aligning down the very same divides as that is the thing that world wars are made of. It was the alliances which caused the spread of what should have been a quick skirmish and within a few months the scores settled after the assassination of Duke Ferdinand but then the two sides began calling in allies and those nations sympathetic and before one knows what was actually happening the entirety of Europe and Japan and all the respective colonies around the world were at war and World War I was born and before it died it eventually including the United States whose entry will be debated as to whether it was manufactured and if so by whom. World War II might have been far shorter had the British and French honored their commitments with Czechoslovakia and not given Hitler the Sudetenland or even after that foolishness had at least honored their subsequent promises to Czechoslovakia when Hitler marched through the now unprotected passes and gobbled up the remainder of Czechoslovakia. Instead they waited until after Czechoslovakia fell and Hitler had added much of the former Austrian-Hungarian Empire from World War I vintage to his side before finally striking at Poland still feeling sure that surely after all their previous gutlessness that the French and British threats were still as empty as before. For those still wondering, the French and British honored their treaties with Poland not that this was of much use to Poland who was swallowed in halves to Hitler’s Germany from their west and Stalin’s Soviets from their east and a few scant weeks until the two armies met in the center and Poland was divided between the two temporary allies. Eventually Hitler turned on Stalin as well making one of the two largest mistakes of the war with the other contender was not following the British across the Channel immediately after Dunkirk. If this reference troubled you, look up “mosquito armada World War II Dunkirk” and read about one of the strangest and most noble acts by the British people without requiring anything other than a call to arms, or at least to assist.

 

Should the Muslim and also the Arab worlds neither one decide that the United States has taken sides in their centuries old conflict between the Sunnis and the Shiites and thus one side have closed off all relations with the United States, then the next President will have the luxury of mending fences and restoring balance in the United States Middle East policy. In President Obama’s defense, he was and still appears to be a strong supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood which is as Sunni as Islamic organizations get. The President has a couple of suspected Muslim Brotherhood affiliated or at least sympathizers in the administration as well as in high profile positions in the State Department and there are not many accusing him of being a sympathizer and solely allied with the Sunnis because of these facts. Certainly such is an easy match for his lack of bombing Assad while bombing the Islamic State despite Assad having murdered vastly more peoples all of them Sunni or non-Muslims while the Islamic State has murdered far fewer Shiites and non-Muslims. The problem with such reasoning is it takes a sophomoric view that numbers of fatalities and casualties is the sole reason for policy and ignores other influences such as perceived threat that one group or nation may present over the threat of another plus the reactions of the people of the United States who also have influence over decision more often than politicians or media care to admit, though the media goes to great lengths to influence the populace and their political conversations and should anybody likely be behind the apparent Shiite support over Sunni Muslims than anything else could ever hope to possess. Of course you will never hear the media taking the blame for the reactions from the people driven by the mainstream media which in turn influences the elected officials thus potentially changing the policies of the United States including foreign policies and position taken by a President. That is both the blessing and the curse of a free society which has open and supposedly transparent elections despite much of what some conspiracy theorists claim to have proof is untrue to which we should simply tell them to file their evidence with the courts of the FED (Federal Election Commission) and let the world, or at least the rest of the United States, settle these claims and force remedial action and a higher level of scrutiny and enforced compliance with security providing for honest elections.

 

The claims by some are likely part of a concerted effort to pressure the United States to alter its foreign policies in some manner probably more favorable to the Sunni Muslim and potentially the Sunni Arab states. The main reasons being given dance around one major foreign policy currently being pursued by the United States which is hugely obvious by the omission we have read claiming that the United States policies are highly anti-Sunni and pro-Shiite; that omission is the ongoing and ongoing and ongoing negotiations with Iran and the seeming falling all over themselves by the United States negotiating team which appear to be leaving Iran able to breakout and make nuclear weapons on an industrial scale within six to ten months from deciding whether they want to announce before or after they leave the restrictions from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) or after as North Korea did before announcing their first nuclear weapon test after breaking their agreement which was negotiated by many of the same team members as are members in these negotiations as well. The main difference is the Secretary of State where one may not have great amounts of faith in Secretary Kerry’s abilities for a multitude of reasons most likely starting with his testimony about his fellow soldiers from his service in Viet Nam where he served with distinction even if not entirely with honor as he managed to receive three Purple Hearts and an immediate trip home with great haste and ease only to give the following testimony before the Senate here in transcript of the complete two hours and forty minute excerpt from his testimony where the below can be heard roughly between 5 minute 45 seconds through 7 minute mark:

“They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.”

 

By now I believe almost everybody other than those so sold on the theory that President Obama is the smartest and most knowledgeable person to walk the halls of power in the history of the universe have realized that when it comes to foreign policy his expertise is that of the level of a neophyte and that is being generous. President Obama has done damage to the United States that may never be rectified as he has broken promises made by former Presidents whose guarantees were ratified by both houses of Congress with levels which if the letter of intents and promises given a certain leader of Israel where no such treaty was feasible without harming the standing the United States cared to retain with the Arab world thus a “mere letter which is not binding on any who followed President Bush” was really much more, but then again the bust of Winston Churchill was not given to any particular President to be an ornament that he found pleasing but a gift to the people of the United States and a gift he had not the authority no matter what his position to demand the British take away as he found it odious, many Americans including most of the ones I have ever known would have objected loudly and strenuously and offered to proudly house that gift in their own home just to retain it and offer it to a new President when such a gift might be more appreciated. That was also the treatment President Obama showed the Saudi Arabian Royals when he discounted their preferences and warning about Iran and simply gave them what in their culture would be considered a scolding for getting out of place for having the audacity to not only oppose him but to doubt his intentions, his intelligence, or his expertise as President Obama knows.

 

I guess one of the worst of all things one can ever commit would be holding any doubts about any and everything President Obama says or does as he is, in his own words we quote from a September, 2008, New York Times profile of Obama where he reportedly told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker,

“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

Well, guess that tells us all we need to know, the rest of us are in a second class league in any expertise we may have because there is a man who likely would meet us and in casual conversation at some point tell us we need not try to inform him on any subject as he already knows twice as much as any of us do on everything. It is little wonder that it has been reported that President Obama often has his daily morning intelligence briefing either told to be given to somebody else or simply waved it off completely often for weeks maybe months at a time and often when he does receive it interrupts to do personal affairs and appears to be distracted and not actually paying attention. I bet he really hears it all and has likely absorbed it all out of the ether and finds such reports unnecessary. According to the Washington Post article By Marc A. Thiessen from September 13, 2012, titled Obama alone: This president does not need intel briefers we quote from almost half the way down,

Vietor’s reply is quite revealing. It is apparently a point of pride in the White House that Obama’s PDB is “not briefed to him.” In the eyes of this administration, it is a virtue that the president does not meet every day with senior intelligence officials. This president, you see, does not need briefers. He can forgo his daily intelligence meeting because he is, in Vietor’s words, “among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.”

 

Though I really should just let this lie as is, I just am unable to resist a little more fun. I am willing to bet that President Obama does not know better than I what I am thinking right about now, nor likely what your reaction has been either. Imagine being the candidate’s political director at the start of the campaign and have the candidate say to your face, “And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.” How does one not just get up and silently walk out the door and simply not return, how? I would be incapable of even supporting such a boorish and ignorant person who is so involved with themselves that they are a more narcissistic egomaniacal megalomaniac than I imagine I am in my wildest dreams, which is why I gave up dreaming long ago as I can dream while awake better than my subconscious can dream when I’m asleep, so top that President Obama.
