Shoah and Anti-Semitism

 

Today was Yom HaShoah here in Israel where the nation comes to a halt at ten in the morning and the nation stands while the sirens blare. It is a moment of reflection and solemn meditation as well as remembrance both of those who perished and those who survived scarred for life and those who survived and partly due to that adversity not merely survived but thrived. There was one thing I noted from the limited numbers of Holocaust survivors that I was privileged to know or meet, the most successful were slim, fit individuals with great amounts of energy and others were more lethargic and usually heavier than most as if they were eating to make up for the near starvation they faced in the camps. It was as if the experience in both left them with a hunger, one group for the thing they hungered for in the camps, food, the others for life and engaging in everything they did with a ferocity that seemed to eat up every morsel of life as if it needed to be savored before heading to the next. Both were reacting to the same deprivations and horrors in very different ways and are significant as the same dichotomy exists in how most Jews face anti-Semitism even when it is staring them in the face.

 

The majority of Jews remaining in Europe and the United States are those whose first, second and even third reaction to increasing anti-Semitism is to dismiss it as either irrelevant or as happening to those other Jews, not to the kind of Jews I know who are comfortable and integrated and of course accepted as equals in the society and not seen as anything different. They keep sticking to an old Jewish belief when struck upside the head with anti-Semitic hatreds thinking that “It can’t happen here. Not to me or those I know. We are all assimilated and no different than anybody else. We are accepted. We are safe.” Others feel even more threatened than is warranted as they read a single article and they start using their dead-bolt, read a second article and keep their window shades drawn and the windows locked, another article and they get extra latches for the windows and a second dead-bolt in every door. Eventually they start seeing shadows behind every object and have paranoid feelings that they are being targeted and jump if touched out in public at the grocery store or the bank or wherever.

The reality for both is somewhere inbetween as extra precautions are always a good idea these days even if one is not Jewish and a healthy awareness of surroundings is advised for all, but paranoia to the point of stark terror if outside at night is something beyond reasonable. Of course there are those places where the stark terrifying paranoia is warranted such as Sweden, Malmo in particular, and in France and soon to be areas in Britain and eventually throughout Europe. The answer for the growing anti-Semitic hatreds growing across Europe both emanating from the immigrant communities coming from countries where anti-Semitism is infused into the blood and Jews have become an extinct people or very close to so with perhaps a dozen or two very old Jews who refused to heed the signs and even the forced evictions, some even resorting to residing in their Synagogue where the authorities left them seeing them as harmless and a foil they could trot out as the happy Jews still living the good life, in the shadows trembling, in their fair and multi-cultural nation. Many of these same nations have a small and vulnerable Christian community which is an empty shell of its former self and equally endangered. When facing excessive threats, one is usually facing leaving; but the question is always where to flee. Should one flee to the United States where things are so different or to Israel where we will need to stand no matter the threat. Fleeing to Israel always has seemed like the place of last resort and if one is more an assimilated Jew, Israel becomes a threat in some manner as it is viewed as being too Jewish and is under threat more so than anywhere else; they are just more adapted and capable of minimizing most threats. The United States has always been the nation for those huddled masses yearning to be free, which these Jews honestly believe this includes freedom from anti-Semitism. Unfortunately they would be wrong as the ugly face of anti-Semitism has been lifting its head and snapping at the easiest targets. The latest was a graffiti spree where anti-Semitic phrases and references including swastikas were drawn on a pair of buildings, one being a school, in Rockville, Maryland about ten minutes outside of Washington D.C. on Wisconsin Avenue/Rockville Pike. This is in the middle of a number of heavily Jewish neighborhoods and from what we have gathered has been hushed up in the Capital City area likely not to upset the Jewish communities or blemish the nation’s Capital with such events being publicized.

 

Europe, on the other hand, had had a rising and bordering on vicious wave after wave of ever increasing anti-Semitism with France, Britain, Belgium, Sweden, Norway and others growing more antagonistic each and every day. The current spate of Ministers, former Minister, former Mayors and the head of the Labor Party all coming under suspicions of anti-Semitic outbursts leading to the suspension of around a half dozen pending hearings could eject them from their positions as Ministers and possibly from membership in the Party itself. These have simply been the most flagrant episodes which lie just sufficiently under the radar to be ignored by the media. Still, many Jewish neighborhoods have become aware and sensitive to the threats being faced and have already had the initial emigrations with half heading across the Atlantic to the United States with the remainder heading straight to Israel. Those heading to the United States may have chosen well, but time will tell. Those moving to Israel are very likely more traditional orthodox or religious and secular Zionists. The secular Zionists are most likely to take up residence in one of the various communities in and around Tel Aviv most likely to choose one fairly close to their new employment or in a neighborhood where the majority speak their native language. Perhaps those choosing Israel were fully aware of the statistics which combines terrorism with normative criminal activities giving a complete view of the dangers of each society, those in Israel against those in the United States. The immediate result between the two which becomes obvious was that in either nation one can avoid criminal victimhood one need only avoid certain areas where criminal activity is the highest. What surprises many people is that even with the terror statistics included, an individual is measurably safer in Israel.

 

 

 

 

The growing levels of anti-Semitism are notable in two main streams. The first is the same type of hatreds as has been seen over the centuries. This is largely the type of anti-Semitism as found in the developing nations. The second type of anti-Semitism is evidenced in Europe and the rest of the modern world and has spread to the rest of the world due to its apparent acceptance in the modern industrial nations, and that is anti-Israelism and anti-Zionism. This style of anti-Semitism basically stated claims that the Jew does not need their own nation as they can be a Jew anywhere they choose just as they have for centuries. The claim is that only the Jew may not have a nation they may call their own. The argument often goes that no other religious groups have their own nation. This ignores all the Islamic nations, Christian nations, Buddhist nations and targets solely Israel. It also ignores that every other religion has at least one nation where they are the majority peoples of the main religions and even Shinto has the Japanese Isles. This demand that only the Jew be forced to reside throughout the world an accursed minority and be denied a nation of their own is simply anti-Semitism. The claim that only the Jew be seen as never having existed as having their own nation ignores the nation of Judea which was the last independent Jewish state, and many well point out that the Jews came exactly from Judea and that before the split into Israel and Judea there was no Jew goes that last step in realizing that the Jew is really a Judean with it shortened to one syllable for lazy convenience. Still, whether we wish to call anti-Semitism what it is because it denies Jews their own state as Israelites, of which the Judeans were but one tribe’s worth, or demands that any and all former Israelites be forced to live dispersed as they are the true people damned by Hashem to forever walk nationless accursed amongst the peoples of the earth, either way it is anti-Semitism and holds the Jew as separate and reserved for hatred, lack of acceptance and scorn.

 

Lastly, how does the Shoah, the Holocaust fit into anti-Semitism. The manner in which the Shoah fits into modern anti-Semitism is when it is claimed that the only reason the Jews received their state of Israel was because of the Shoah and due to the guilt felt by Europe who punished the Arabs, later becoming the Palestinians, for the evils in Europe. This claim also ignores that half of Israeli Jewish population are Arab Jews from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and arrived in Israel as a direct result of anti-Semitic pogroms. Then there are the classic anti-Semitic tropes where Israel is directly threatened in a manner of claiming that the Holocaust never existed and that there will be another Holocaust when Israel is to be wiped from the map. How you can have another Holocaust while denying the former Holocaust is beyond logic. These Holocaust deniers who promise another Holocaust are a truly frightening sort as they claim there is no break in their logic and at the same instance claim that if only the Nazis had completed the task and followed through on their promises to the Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Hussein there would be no need for another holocaust.

 

Those claiming to be the final hand against the Jew further demand that they are serving the same deity as do Christian and Jews despite their name of Allah. Their claim goes even further astray in that they claim they follow the god of Abraham, Ishmael and Mohammad and of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Where they claim to be an Abrahamic religion, which is undeniable, their matron was not Sarah making theirs a separate Abrahamic religion not of the same lineage of Christianity and Judaism. This places the Islamic anti-Semitism on a different track of all other forms of anti-Semitism in that it claims the branch of Abrahamic religions as impure to be those from the lineage from Sarah and that the chosen religion comes from Abraham through Hagar, Sarah’s handmaiden. This would further make Christianity as false a religion as Judaism and we see that Islam does hold Christianity as a false religion just as it does Judaism. This should give pause to all the Christian groups who saddle up next to the Muslims as they see them as allies against the Jews but ignore their near equal hatred of Christianity. The one other note that both Christianity and Judaism need take of Islam is their current claims that Moses, Jesus and all the other main pillars and greats throughout the ages after Abraham as their prophets as well and their love of them is a matter of convenience and a method through which they hope to coopt both religions and take from them the weaker and less knowledgeable and plan that once they have eradicated the Jews and later the Christians they will drop these prophets of convenience and claim those believing in these as actual prophets of Islam to be heretics and apostates who need to be crushed and put to the sword and that will be their final treatment of the false Jews and Christians whose faith was so weak they gave up their rightful religions for the protection, temporary as it will be, of those who never wished their company but accepted it as a convenience when it was necessary. The Jews should recognize such as we have seen it time and time again be it the Hellenistic Jews to Jews for Jesus. But history has taught that there is no anti-Semite as hateful as the former Jew coopting Judaism in order to save their lives at the expense of their brethren Jews. That is truly the world’s worst and most persistent and second oldest form of anti-Semitism with the idolaters who served Ba’al amongst others who were the original anti-Semites as the Jews have witnessed many a varied sort of anti-Semite with the Jew turned against their own being the worst as it is their weakness and lack of faith and love of Hashem which has pained us the most throughout the ages. As the old adage claims, “Save me from my friends as my enemies I can take care of myself.” These are the wolves in sheep’s clothing which are the most scary as they attack from within our gates.

President Obama’s Wars on United States and Israel

 

President Obama has eleven months to do the damage he has desired to do all along. First off he will finally do all the things he has complained he did not have the power to do because of the restraints in the Constitution. Those are the introductory steps. His main other goal is to make the United States after the image of Europe except on steroids. His aims are to advance socialism and more effective governance in the lives of the subjects under the United States government. He will do all in his power to centralize all powers away from the individual states and place them within the Federal Government basket of powers. He has shifted healthcare to the central figures within the IRS. He has centralized all Federal grounds which used to be shared with the respective states into the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and removed state access and land use grants into the BLM or the Parks and Planning and other Federal Park Administrative powers. President Obama is still heavily expounding the depth of Common Core in order to completely federalize the school systems. Expect biometric cameras to become mandated in order to receive extremely sizeable funding for a special program intended for special needs children and a new way of observing classrooms and identifying such needs in every child. This will place every child under Federal mandates and special educational tracking. Such tracking will be sold as making the educational experienced tailored to meet every individual child’s learning habits. What it will do is train each child to fill a slot predetermined to be their optimum ability being utilized. This will rob every child’s ability to strive, to become greater than their expectations. The Gates Foundation is heavily behind this system and using it to identify special problems before they become destructive.

 

 

 

 

One of the things President Obama will do in his final year in office is to make federal loans and other monies easier for students to receive for going to college. This will also place more young adults strapped with heavier student loan debt. These students will be offered a way out from under such debt by joining into some government program where they presumably pay back their loan monies through working for the government and receiving their normal government salary and the debt will steadily decrease with time. Many of these students will then remain as Federal Government employees. This will swell the numbers of Federal Employees.

 

In the Middle East and North Africa the plan is simple. Whatever “refugees” Europe cannot handle or wishes to send back, which is impossible, or elsewhere will be taken in by President Obama. These rejected “refugees” already count in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands. He will continue to avoid taking any serious actions in the Middle East and beyond in the Arab and Muslim world to resolve any of the turmoil. The President views what is happening as a good thing as it presumably removes the colonial influences which has been pervasive as per the dreams of his Father. Read about what he finds pleasing and proper from his book Dreams of my Father where he plainly states that the colonial past must be erased and forgotten if the underdeveloped world is ever to advance. This view goes farther than just the Middle East and the Muslim world despite that being his main target and should Islam prove to become a problem threatening the Western World, President Obama sees that too as retributions for the sins of colonialization. Little does he realize but the original sin in the area was the Arab Muslim colonialization which preceded the European colonialization which began after World War I and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and ended around the beginning or end of World War II. President Obama will have people scour the law books and find whatever therein in taking all government power and placing it within the purview of the White House. This brings us to Israel.

 

 

 

Recently President Obama’s research arm dug up an old mention in some law which allowed for the marking of all products made from beyond the Green Line separate from the rest of Israel. This new demarcation was even to include those areas which according to the Oslo Accords and everything which followed as to legally be permitted for Israel to build without restrictions as these areas were to become part of Israel’s necessary defense security zone. But why allow International Law to get in the way of slowly starting the dismantling of Israel. The remainder of President Obama’s time in office will be spent in an undeclared war on Israel. Marking all items grown, made or in any way touched by hands or found in the lands beyond the Green Line as made or produced in the West Bank. Using the term West Bank is reinforcing the concept that this was and should always be Arab lands. That is why it does not say Judea and Samaria but instead uses the Jordanian name which they used when Jordan illegally attempted to annex these very lands and extended citizenship to the people living in these lands. Jordan even relocated thousands of their citizens to reside in these lands and placed many in the homes of the Jews who were expelled by threat of death. These Jews were sent to live in what remained of Israel after the Arab forces occupied by military force parts of Israel after they declared a war of genocide against the Jews of Israel. These gains are exactly what President Obama wants to start with labeling so it is made to appear not a part of Israel as part of his coming peace initiative.

 

President Obama plans on making the United States the enforcement arm and leader of the European Union war on Israel. There will be certain European governments who will volunteer to be the front line in this assault standing side-by-side with the United States. Count Sweden as the prime example and likely France and any other European nation with a leftist government. The hoped for aim is to force Israel, by recognizing a state for the Arabs residing in the West Bank of Palestine, into making grand concessions. It is these exact concessions they will claim are preventing there being any negotiations. This is a true statement because Europeans and President Obama with John Kerry being the messaging pigeon have all conveyed their promises for generous concessions from Israel are coming if only the Arab Palestinians would resume negotiations. Abbas turned that on its head as usual and demanded the concessions be granted up-front as he claimed that Israel would otherwise refuse to grant them until the Palestinians made concessions. Abbas claimed that Israel would pocket these additional concessions just as they have done when Palestinians have made concessions previously and Israel simply walked out ending the negotiations. Obviously Abbas cannot mean such after the generous offer made when Yasser Arafat told President Bill Clinton exactly what Israel would necessarily need to do in order to have a peace with the Palestinians. These demands by Arafat included the surrender of most of East Jerusalem to serve as the Palestinian capital and other Israeli land concessions he thought the Israelis would refuse. To Arafat’s shock and dismay the Israelis agreed on his terms at which point Arafat walked from the Paris negotiations never to return or even make additional demands. He had been so sure Israel would have rejected and saved the day, he miscalculated. It is for exactly this reason the Arab side has never made set demands for statehood as they fear the Israelis might accept them once again.

 

The aims of President Obama and his European allies are to pressure Israel by systematically threatening to recognize the Arab State of Palestine without defining the boundaries of this entity which has always been the sticking point. The borders are always to be determined which has presumably been the plan from the beginning which is where the talks inevitably fall short. But President Obama has a new plan, define temporary borders for everybody to recognize as the minimal size and scope of an Arab Palestinian state. These borders would then need to be cleared of any and all Jews which are where the Israeli concessions come in to play. One could expect that the delivery of the F 35 Strike Fighter Jets delivery could be added incentive for Israel to agree to such a plan. The boundaries are very likely to be exactly the same boundaries from before the Six Day War, simply another war of annihilation brought onto the State of Israel. President Obama is determined to found the State of Palestine on the grave of Israel, now or future, of that is what it demands. His aim initially is to provide the State of Palestine the boundaries which Israel and Jordan had agreed to as the end point of hostilities in an armistice of 1949. Since then Jordan made a peace with Israel and when months later Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas demanded that the King of Jordan at least pass his claim, bogus as they were based on nineteen years of admitted occupation, of the region of Judea and Samaria to the PLO terror organization, he immediately did so despite having relinquished them back to their proper owner, Israel. We promise to produce an article again some day going over the reason the Arab claims to the land are invalid.

 

 

 

Further on the Israel front, President Obama is likely to make some attempt to bring down the Netanyahu led right nationalist government. The plan is to then replace it with a Universalist leftist government which holds Israeli democracy as the more noble goal than Israel, home of the Jews. The push will be to grant Palestinians and other refugees to have access just as simple and easy as Jews on the basis of Right of Return. The predication of this demand is upon the Abbas and other’s claims that the Palestinian Arabs are not descended from the same areas in the Arabian Peninsula but are the remainder of the seven Canaanite kingdoms. This, they claim, makes their claims to the lands in question four to five thousands of years and thus older than any Jewish claims. Whatever the logic utilized to form this Palestine, borders is the least of their problems, or perhaps it is their greatest problem. One has to realize that the only borders Yasser Arafat and in turn Mahmoud Abbas have always, since Paris and that debacle, laid their claim on the idea and slogan made famous at almost every demonstration across the Western World with the chanting of, “From the (Jordan) River to the (Mediterranean) Sea, Palestine will be free.” The single other reality one must remember is that any lands granted the Palestinians must first be cleansed of its Jewish population, both alive and those entombed there. So the Jews who are being evicted from their lands and having their lives overturned have the additional trauma of their ancestors being reinterred inside Israel with the family reliving the event and explaining why grandmother and grandfather are being buried again. But even if President Obama manages to squeeze Prime Minister Netanyahu sufficiently that he would relent and pull completely out from the areas within Judea and Samaria then President Obama would have gained his other victory, the overturning of the Netanyahu coalition. The object would then be to portray Isaac Herzog as the greatest and most ardent Zionist since Ze’ev Jabotinsky. The greatest problem which would present itself if Netanyahu has become presumably poisonous and toxic to the United States and Europe, which might actually serve him providing him with potentially the best campaign slogan ever as he could claim to be the un-Europe, un-Obama and un-concessions candidate that is pro-one state solution and in offering to buy out any Arab who desires to take the money and start a new life somewhere outside of Israel. There would necessarily need for some to be simply sent off on their way unceremoniously as their presence would prove toxic. Israel should reserve the right to buy out peoples properties and add to that the allowance to resettle elsewhere to be used on those family members of any individual conducting any of terror assault. These deportations would be exactly that, deportations.

 

The Arabs in the newly annexed areas of Judea and Samaria would receive trial citizenship which would permit them voting in any local elections but be barred for a set period of time and until they complete a series of courses on Biblical Jewish history, Modern Jewish history, the real and true relationship between the Jewish People and how it serves as an anchor for the faith which has held a tenuous grip by a thin strand clinging and living to remember Jerusalem. How for generation upon generation every year we would say and more often than not believe we would some day return. A course in democratic governments and governance which would stress the freedoms equally with the responsibilities would be included in the curriculum. Finally, they should be granted full citizenship after the completion of these requirements which would easily take a minimum of five years and more expectantly a full decade. In the meantime, if one preferred they could declare themselves alien residents and be granted a Visa with that intent. Such a classification would not be transferable. The most important action of all would be Israel taking control of the education system. Where the Islamic madrassahs could be taught by qualified Muslim Israelis who would teach the truth and not the propaganda, the schools run by individual Imams who fervently taught the destruction of the Jewish State would need to face the fate as those who were determined to be arch terror trainers and planners as such an Imam would be a direct threat to the State of Israel.

 

Israel could serve as the center for an Islamic revelation and transformation bringing the messages of peace, tolerance, refinement of the individual and the soul, the Mecca Quran over the more violent and war based Medina Quran. The changes would take time as the indoctrination of the Arab society has been so immersive and complete that it will be like deprogramming cult members who wish to leave a harmful environment but are enslaved to their present situation and must be led free of its all-encompassing immersive grasp. The good news is once Israel committed to retaining all the lands which were promised her by the entirety of the League of Nations, many conferences and treaties, and most importantly by International Law, the violence would immediately decrease and over time that trend would continue and the economic situation in the area would bloom and have meteoric growth as would Israel as the vast majority of the lands are basically uninhabited. This would also make Israel more readily defendable and would grant central hub of Israel around Tel Aviv and also to Jerusalem. This would provide a better life for future generations and many of those who were in the majority but were suppressed into submission which is what defines modern Islam, the submission of the human factor and of the humans themselves and that is what transformation and reformation would all be about, but this too is for another day. For the here and now it is best to be prepared for radical changes in the United States and the most active and virulent interference in the rule of law and governance of Israel by European governments, the European Union, the United States State Department and White House, the European union and Israeli NGOs who are largely if not almost entirely funded from abroad if all of their contributions both directly and those indirectly arranged through other NGOs such as the New Israel Fund and overtly-wealthy individuals such as George Soros.

Will it be a Good Year Too?

 

Yesterday we took a somewhat longer view of our universe which can be read here, but now let’s take a look at items a little closer to this year alone and things we can examine closer to the here and now. The first news read on page one or heard on news broadcasts might have been about the petition filed by Jordan before the Security Council as the agents for the Palestinian Authority demanding the Security Council act to basically force Israel to surrender to the territorial demands without any demand for the Palestinians to make peace was not passed missing by a single vote. There will be many editorials examining why the petition failed and in many instances there will be questions as to what actions were taken by Israel to possibly affect Rwanda, Nigeria and Britain that they abstained when predictions from different news organizations had listed combinations of these as the last votes which were thought to be in the Palestinian support column. Reacting immediately to their defeat, the Palestinian Authority in its numerous manifestations acted to join various conventions including and starting with the Rome Convention in order to attempt to call Israel onto the carpet before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on various charges of crimes against humanity and various war crime charges. If Israel were a normal nation these charges would be thrown out without any consideration, but Israel has the advantage, as does the United States and other nations, fearful of being subjected to specious accusations forcing them to be spending an inordinate amounts of time and treasure fighting one charge after the other, of placing themselves outside of the full jurisdiction by retracting themselves or having never joined the ICC, thus leaving them subjected to only a very limited number of acts or accusations emanating from the ICC. The nations who have placed themselves under such a state of exclusion from the complete power to be adjudicated before the ICC have not had efforts made to force them to stand before the court in contradiction to their electing to decide not to be within the full jurisdiction of the court, but we may soon see if Israel will be the first to be demanded to stand before the ICC despite their not being a member after the Palestinian Authority or one of its numerous manifestations bring charges against Israel at the ICC. Where the filing of charges by Mahmoud Abbas and the Authority is not a guaranteed certainty, yet the decision will not be decided or even the slightest bit influenced by the actual fact of whether Israel can legally be brought before the ICC on the more than likely specious charges. But there is always the one unknown, whenever something includes Israel in the equation, evidence soon proves that Israel is not treated the same as other nations and things for which no other nation would be excoriated and forced to be subjugated to adjudication despite presumably being beyond the jurisdiction under the ICC authority. So, it might not prove to be all that surprising, though there will be those newscasters breathlessly commenting as to the potential priority setting situation should Israel actually be brought to answer against the charges filed with the ICC by Saab Erekat and Mahmoud Abbas. These reports will logically be followed by breathless interviews with numerous spokespersons including our culprits, Saab Erekat and Mahmoud Abbas, with easy softball questions and supportive commentary expressing sympathy for and verification of their cause and agreement that the seriousness of their charges demands an exception as there must be resolution for these accusations, the rules be damned. There will also be interviews of Israelis, especially such as Prime Minister Netanyahu and any others who are named in the accusations, where the attitude will be even more accusatory than a television dramatic prosecutor, as that is the part they are actually assuming, with demands that guilt for the charges be admitted berating the interviewee severely as if that would be sufficient to presage the newscaster’s hunger for an admission of guilt from any of the Israelis subjected to this trial by media. This little scenario may even play out throughout the year as new charges are filed and other agencies are sought in further attempts to vilify Israel and bring her down by a continuous barrage of accusations as the latest manner of assault. The Geneva Convention in numerous different areas and treaties were also signed by Mahmoud Abbas granting yet another friendly venue for more charges and then there will be the attempt by Abbas and Iran, Turkey, Qatar, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and who knows what other Arab or Muslim nations will join demanding that Israeli be forced to sign onto the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) thus also demanding that Israel destroy any nuclear weapons they possess as well as decommissioning their research reactor at Dimona in the Negev Desert. The reactions from the community of nations will tell more about the nations of the world than it will about Israel.

 

Russia will continue to be an extension of President Vladimir Putin’s desires to return Russia, and through Russia also aggrandizing himself, to its former glories as the Soviet Union by slowly ratcheting up pressures on the closest former Warsaw Pact nations. He may renew pressuring Georgia, providing arms and potentially providing fighters in the eastern provinces of the Ukraine in efforts to break them away and place a puppet government over the territories. Then there is what appears to be the next target predicted for Russian interest, Moldova. Where it is true that Moldova is a small nation, it also is located centrally between Romania and the Ukraine which means that should Putin gain leverage over Moldova, he will then have a base with which to threaten the western border of the Ukraine making the situation in the Ukraine even more volatile than it currently appears to be. What makes such a move even more dangerous is the fact that in 1992 Moldova was accepted into NATO and has remained a NATO member nation ever since. Any Russian moves on Moldova would have consequences far beyond the Ukraine or Romania, which are the two nations surrounding the small nation, but would also be a direct challenge to the NATO treaty for mutual defense by all nations should any nation under the NATO umbrella be attacked. Should United States President Obama refuse to act or only act by ‘leading from behind’, as he has shown a preference for doing, then Putin might decide that NATO is a paper tiger making her member nations susceptible to attack without any risk of further escalation. Such an indication might trigger Putin making good on his off-the-cuff remark made a few months back in a moment of bravado claiming that he could take any and all NATO countries without suffering any repercussions from the remaining NATO nations. Making a move to take Poland as well as all the smaller nations right on the Russian border might even appear to be something which would carry little downside.

 

There are those who have predicted that President Vladimir Putin would be driven from office in a response to the crash of the Russian nation’s currency taking it from Ruble to Rubble. Recent polling shows Putin still well regarded by the Russian public carrying near eighty-five percent approval, certainly not the sign of a leader in trouble at home. Putin will continue to present a threat to the nations nearest Russia as increasing Russian territory is nearly guaranteed to spur economic growth to aid the Russian economy out of its current difficulties. There is one silver lining in this dark cloud which is the Russian economy, with the decreased worth of the Ruble, this priced the Russian oil and natural gas at a far lower than before the downward spiral thus protecting Russia from the petroleum warfare being waged against Iran by Saudi Arabia. We can expect Russia to also make the news with Iran in their mutual support for Syrian President for Life Bashir al-Assad against the rebel forces largely consisting of forces allied in an al-Qaeda with the majority of the rest belonging to ISIS. We should not expect for Bashir al-Assad to fall from power or stop the extreme methods he has employed against the rebel forces, ISIS and his own people. No matter who prevails in Syria, the victory will be a Pyrrhic victory, as the entire nation has been devastated with the majority of the infrastructure being completely destroyed. The most important yet devastating development to come as a result of the Syrian Civil War has been the rise of ISIS and their control of much of central Iraq and a swath of land across Syria reaching almost to the Turkish border where they were stopped dead at the northern city of Kobane where Kurdish Peshmerga Militias are making a desperate and unbelievable stand.

 

Speaking of Kobane brings us to one of the more desperately unfortunate events which have been unfolding as if in slow motion, the Islamification of Turkey slowly turning back almost one-hundred years of progress by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. President Erdogan has singlehandedly undone the carefully crafted safeguards by which Turkey had been secularized in the aftermath of World War I and the defeat of the Ottoman Empire by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Turkey was included in NATO during the Cold War in order to seize control of the Bosphorus Straights which gave NATO the ability to stop all shipping traffic from the Black Sea into the Mediterranean Sea and from there to the Atlantic Ocean. This gave the NATO allies a way of monitoring and potentially trapping the Soviet Union’s access to the Atlantic as their sole warm water port was in the Crimean, the same port that Russia has grabbed by their assuming control over the Crimea from the Ukraine. President Erdogan has been serving the interests of the Muslim Brotherhood openly with the silent consent of United States President Obama. Erdogan found his best ally in transforming Turkey back into an Islamist state in the European Union where the nations of the European Union with the assistance of the United States then President George W. Bush when they prevented the ranking generals of the military from performing a coup as their reaction as tasked by the Turkish Constitution where it stated that should the Turkish government be detected moving the nation back into the arms of Islamic Sharia that the military must step in and end such governance. Then the Turkish military was tasked with overseeing elections permitting only a secular government to form before returning civilian control. This method had been utilized in 1960 and again in 1980 and was almost going to occur once again around 2004-5 but the European Union warned the Turkish military that the nations within the European Union, which Turkey is trying desperately to join, do not allow for the military to rise up against the civilian government for any reason even if such power is vested in the military to preserve the secular nature of the nation. This basically froze the military’s power and Erdogan slowly but inexorably replaced those generals who were opposed to the direction he was steering the nation. President Erdogan is still moving Turkey away from Europe and NATO and towards the Muslim Brotherhood and seemingly illuminating the imposition of Sharia on all of Turkey. President Erdogan has also waged a low-level war of attrition against the Kurds which has been expanded since to include arming, training and financing the Sunni rebels fighting against Syrian President al-Assad. With the Kurdish also fighting against al-Assad, Erdogan had to decide whether he would aid the Kurds in Syria, and especially in Kobane where the Kurds were getting desperate. This led to allowing the Kurdish Peshmerga Militias from Iraq to enter Syria from Turkey and aid the Kurdish fighters. The Islamization of Turkey is likely to continue unabated and Turkey will probably continue to aid ISIS as best as they are able mostly by reselling the oil from Iraq using that marketing as the easiest way to both provide Turkey with revenue while also funding ISIS.

 

Turkey is not the only nation being inexorably moved into compliance with the Sharia as many of the European nations have minority neighborhoods which are imposing Sharia as the laws within their controlled neighborhoods. These enclaves are almost exclusively inhabited by Muslims with only a small numbers of the original Europeans still reside in these enclaves and they too would have moved given the opportunity. There are those who claim that it is these new immigrants which spend their time protesting against Israel and are also responsible for the increased anti-Semitism. Unfortunately it is not exclusively the immigrant population who are responsible for the recent escalating numbers of anti-Israel, anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic crimes which have increased so significantly that the increases are not measurable as easily as a percentage but rather as a multiplier. Had the increases been merely a percentage such as an increase of fifteen percent, twenty percent numbers like that might have been the new immigrant populations and as such acceptable as an explanation. Perhaps even fifty percent or even anything less than ninety percent but when countries are measuring increases of incidents of violent anti-Semitic acts increasing by four times, five times and in some cities even worse numbers, we are talking increases above, if measured by percentages, numbers of more than seven-hundred percent and those numbers require more than just the new immigrants. Do these immigrants count for a large number? Yes, but not the entirety. One need only look at the evening news to see that at some rallies the participants are not immigrants. When the banners carry the Golden Dawn logo we are not looking at immigrants. The same goes for the Jobbik Party demonstrations. When a Mayor of a major city, one of the five largest in that nation, and the mayor tells the Rabbi of a community which has resided in that city for centuries that the Jews will no longer be safe and there is nothing that can be done to protect them, that is more than the new immigrants. The Jews have seen this before when in the first decade and a half after the founding of the state of Israel we saw this in one Arab country after the other where the Jews were told by a friend that it would be better if they left, if they left and moved to that country of theirs. First it was in individual small towns and villages and eventually became the entire nation regurgitating their Jews. We saw it in Russia in the seventies and eighties. We saw it here in Europe right after World War II when many returned to their homes from before the horrors they had already suffered and when returning to their town only to be met with some family living in their home as the bombs destroyed half of the town and they had to live somewhere and we were not there, so, you do what you have to do. Not everywhere was like this, but still, anyone receiving such a greeting returning from the camps was a bit much. What was the answer every time? We heard you would not be returning, half the homes were hit by bombs, artillery, whatever. What were we told? Go to that country you are founding. Where will the Jews of today go; America? Canada? Israel? We may as well realize that eventually we will all end up together again in Israel as even Canada and the United States are seeing the beginnings of what has metastasized in Europe. The entirety of the world is going to be spitting out their Jews and yet when we find ourselves in Israel, the place everybody tells us is our nation and where we belong, then we get there and are told that is not ours either. If not Israel, where else is there? We asked this question once before in “If Not Israel Where do the Jews Belong? and nobody had an answer then. My bet is nobody has an answer now either. Maybe if every nations sent us here then can we please have all of the lands you once promised we could use for our little corner in the world, our really little corner in the world? Just allow us sovereignty over the lands west of the Jordan River and east of the Mediterranean Sea and allow us to live in peace and in return we will make advances in whatever fields we touch and we will share them with the world just as we have always done. We are a sharing people which we have always been ever since we shared what we received on two stone tablets. Perhaps you remember those ten rules we shared with all the societies on earth; we shared the one enduring set of laws that really were written in stone, twice. We merely asked that others observe seven that Noah recounted after the flood as what his family could base a just and civil society, just Seven Noahic Codes; that’s all.
