Trump Selling Opposition of Establishment Vision

 

Trump is running a campaign empty of substance, which are the claims from the Establishment and the other Republican candidates opposing him. Trump getting red faced and frustrated when attacked simply feeds the everybody is out to get him, the same exact feeling which much of the populace also feels as their health costs have tripled, the coverage is so limited that it is the cause of much of the increased health costs because the system is not designed to deliver healthcare but to transfer funds to the lower third or even half of the population, the people on public support and who pay no taxes. Even if Trump or a Republican President with a Republican Congress redesign Obamacare into Republicare, the system will still become cumbersome and loaded down with regulations and impossible hurdles to get proper care because government does not do healthcare. Government does regulations and compartmentalization all of which is the antithesis of good healthcare which requires everyone to have access to one another and their opinions. Government had proven to be very poor at interfacing differing areas of every agency and healthcare will end up being no different. The lack of interconnectivity is a large part of the problem in Veterans Healthcare and the public version will be even worse as there will be that many more patients to tangle up in forms, requests and what we from the military knew as SNAFUs, Situation Normal All Fouled Up.

 

One of the main reasons that Donald Trump has won three primaries in a row and might well outperform his rivals today, Super Tuesday, has much to do with the Republican Party deciding that it was best to front-load many of the primary elections when states clamored to place their voting as early as possible. This was seen as important because everyone wanted their race to be the one which put the candidate over the threshold thus making their state appear to be the important and pivotal primary state. It was the race to the front a number of years ago which pressured the parties to change their primary as nobody wanted to have their state primary elections after one candidate had necessarily won making their election results meaningless. This has allowed Donald Trump to make a grab for delegates a viable stratagem by simply playing to the crowds as the one being ganged up and mugged by his apparent closest rivals, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. Their tactic to reveal Trump as an empty suit would have had far greater effect had they started earlier and had the time to reveal his lack of any form of plan, as Trump has basically made a campaign around his phrase of, “I’m going to make America great again.” He is basically running a campaign as this election’s Hope and Change candidate offering change we will all hope will change the stuff needing change or the people will lose all hope. The other candidates would have served themselves far better had they come up with a theme around which they actually built their argument as that would have given them a rivaling theme and one with substance and not relying on hot air, something which has lifted Trump like a hot air balloon. The other two main rivals attempting to poke a hole in Trump’s balloon has left them standing on the ground while he soared to apparent victory.

Again, it is really possible that there will emerge a winner by the Ides of March and the United States will be left fearing two-thirds of a year of Trump being Trump. What is even more astounding has been the Republicans and not so insignificant number of Democrats who have claimed they want a president with substance and grit with an actual and explained plan to move the United States back to its preeminence in the world, and Donald Trump has captured their minds and left them giddy filled with some intoxicant. The intoxicant is a slogan which expresses the electorate’s desires which claiming “I’m going to make America great again,” fills that need and many believe that there is a real plan behind the slogan. The frightening thing is that President Obama had a plan to go along with his “Hope and Change” and “Yes We Can” sloganeering in 2008 elections. Those slogans and electing the first Black United States President simply intoxicated the American public and here we are two terms of Hope and Change later. The one thing many Americans are now claiming is that those Changes were not what they had Hoped they would be. Eight years ago nobody challenged President Obama to define the Change we were presumably Hoping for so that left it up to each individual to define the Change and that gave them Hope. Here we are eight years later and it appears that the presumed thinking party had fallen for a phrase and no plan, which may prove just as intoxicating as President Obama’s sloganeering. The question the Republicans need to ask themselves is will “I’m going to make America great again,” as a campaign slogan last through to the elections or will the balloon burst and the Republican hopes of taking the White House dwindle and completely blow away on the wind, the same wind they had hoped would change the ownership of the White House.

 

We have been hearing an argument that we do not need another sloganeering campaign despite its appeal and they have claimed that nobody has won based on a slogan before President Obama attempting to pin his election on Hope and Change as an illusion the nation cannot afford another such President. The sorry thing is there have been numerous Presidents elected simply due to an inspirational catch phrase, though often also filled with actual plans and positions deeper than “Make America great again.” President Eisenhower had a slogan which was festooned across the country and it proved accurate that, “I Like Ike,” won the nation’s hearts. The fact General Eisenhower managed the victory in Europe during World War II probably aided his run for the White House. There were cryptic slogans such as Theodore Roosevelt whose single word slogan, “Bully” both won him the White House and redefined that word to mean a winner, a successful achiever and to have the advantage in speaking giving us the terminology “Bully Pulpit.”

Through American history there have always been slogans, some of which proved memorable enough to outlast the campaign and even the candidate such as: ‘Don’t Change Horses in Mid-Stream,’ ‘All Power to the Imagination!,’ ‘Better Dead than Red,’ ‘Four More Years,’ ‘Vote for a Change,’ ‘Remember Pearl Harbor!,’ ‘Remember the Alamo!,’ ‘He Kept Us Out of War,’ ‘Think Globally, Act Locally,’ ‘We are the 99%,’ ‘From each according to his ability, to each according to his need,’ ‘Tippecanoe and Tyler Too,’ ‘The Buck Stops Here,’ ‘There Ain’t No Such Thing as a Free Lunch,’ ‘Workers of the World Unite,’ and one which sounds eerily applicable to one of the current campaigns, ‘No War but Class War.’ The idea of finding a catch phrase which resonates is as old as politics and even predates elections as slogans can be used to start or end revolutions or can be used to win wars and get the public roused. Rosie the Riveter was used to sell war bonds along with an entire and ongoing campaign which came from an actual advertising agency contracted by the government. Without slogans much of politics would simply be dry rhetoric stating facts, lying about facts, stretching and mutilating facts leaving at least a shred or two of truth in them and the other things as old as politics, mud-slinging. During the 1796 elections between Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Adams, Jefferson supporters described Adams in an article run in Philadelphia as, “old, querulous, bald, blind, crippled, toothless Adams.” In 1828 Presidential election Andrew Jackson was described in a Cincinnati newspaper by John Q. Adams supporter wrote, “General Jackson’s mother was a COMMON PROSTITUTE brought to this country by British soldiers. She afterwards married a MULATTO MAN, with whom she had several children, of which General JACKSON IS ONE!!!” and lastly from the 1800 Adams-Jefferson campaign we get this gem describing John Adams as a, “hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.” The name-calling today is tame and respectful compared to the early years in politics where anything was fair game including big whoppers of lies.

 

The way to prevent sloganeering of winning the primary campaign in a single burst of well-planned buffoonery would be to spread the primary elections out with the states with sizeable numbers of delegates evenly spaced with them slightly weighted towards the middle to end of the season as they are the likely states where the fight will be the most revealing as we really need to know which candidate has the right stuff to survive an attack calling them a, “hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.” Such a lengthening of the campaign such that it represents a solid four month campaign where the people could really get to compare and contrast the candidates and they will be pressed to give greater insight and depth, not that such things tend to actually matter any longer. Now the elections are decided by the media and the operatives with the people caught in the middle. “I’m going to make America great again.” That is a great slogan and would be even better if we knew how. With President Obama who won not just one but two Presidential campaigns on little if any substance we do not need another sloganeer. The first was sold as Hope and Change. Well, we all hope for better days to come and change is inevitable as the laws of physics explain all too muddled in the math for many of us to understand. The problem is obvious; most of us will start to pay attention to the primary elections in our respective states, if we even bother to vote, about a week, maybe two, before the election is held. Then we see who our equally clueless friends are supporting, maybe look up something on-line and then as all too many people too busy to take the time and carefully analyze each candidate’s positions and other pertinent items, not like all who read articles here as they obviously have done and followed since the first person announced over a year ago, thank you Dr. Ben Carson, and finally turn on the radio to hear the news and vote for whoever is ahead in the polls as they want to vote for the winner (yes, I knew somebody who voted with that exact reasoning, voted for the winner). This election in the United States, and if everything does not collapse, or worse, implode, then also the next few Presidential and Congressional elections will decide the fate of more than the United States. They may decide whether the world enters World War III before the United States has redeployed her military so as to have them dispersed and thus many surviving a preemptory strike which simply destroys the power generation grid leaving the people to die a slow death of starvation and Americans shooting each other over a piece of bread or a jar of peanut butter, chunky, of course. That also might decide where the remnants of Europe escape to as the tensions in Europe begin to boil over and fighting breaks out in the streets. What is important for all in the free world to remember was a one singular shameful event where people stood and watched and some shot pictures but nobody stepped forward to lead and prevent this gruesome event from the afternoon of May 22, 2013, a British Army soldier, Fusilier Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was attacked and killed by Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale near the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, southeast London and beheaded.

That a crowd watched and did nothing will be the critical moment when many of us discovered that the world we thought we knew was dead and soon a critical question will be imposed on the Western World, the question of will you stand for your privilege and way of life or will you as well surrender before the coming storm, before Islam. So, which will it be? We and many fear the answer might just be silence, the worst kind of silence which comes right before the storm, and it will be a storm like has been unheard for a very long time.

President Obama’s Last State of the Union Address Finally Done

Part 2

 

Here we go picking up where we left off picking on and picking faults, discrepancies and blatant lies all while trying to maintain our sanity by making light of what will result in the kick-off of President Obama’s long ago promised and much anticipated by extreme leftists and haters of all things America who agree with the President that the problem with the world has been and always was an America that was too powerful, too imperialist, too influential, too concerned and too interventionist even when America seldom kept the lands they liberated returning the greatest majority back to their former governance or to the people to choose their own future with any and all assistance they required in instigating a governance which was chosen and would continue to be chosen by the people in free, open, honest elections where the actual votes mattered and the government was answerable to the ballot box. This President decided that the United States remaining in Iraq and Afghanistan was detrimental to the free choices of the people and was there as a conqueror imposing America’s will onto the people so he removed the United States troops and the vast majority suffered not only in Afghanistan and Iraq but across the Middle East and North Africa as while President Obama had no trouble allowing governments to be overthrown, he saw no role for the United States in preserving the possibility for change if only there was some means of preventing the fracturing in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and starting now in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The sole saving grace in the MENA revolutions was Egypt where the Muslim Brotherhood was removed from power before they could cement their Islamist Sharia nightmare and cast Egypt into another Iran like power except this time Sunni and the Sinai Peninsula is still in open revolt and lawlessness threatening both Egypt and Israel and potentially Jordan and western Saudi Arabia while assisting Iran in arming Hamas even further. So, now let’s get back to the speech after this commercial interruption.

 

“Medical research is critical; we need the same level of commitment when it comes to developing clean energy sources. Look, if anybody wants to dispute the science around climate change, then have at it. You will be pretty lonely.” Then he listed a litany of organizations, branches of government, the military, and so on. Does anybody know what the unifying thing was about that list? Yes, you right here……. Yes, that’s it; they are all financed through the government or are completely beholden as a branch of government. This has been the ugly truth about the climate change debate. Firstly, nobody is claiming that climate does not change as that would be preposterous. What is debated is whether it is predominantly anthropomorphic or whether nature has the far greater effect. Guess which one received the mountain of funding from the United States, United Nations, European Union, and had entire companies whose existence and budget only comes from government and they still manage to go bankrupt, see yesterday’s just above the picture in the article, there is only one. We could argue that right here and never get through the speech so one argument and we’ll move on. Take all the pollution caused by humankind and add to that all the pollution caused by the herds of animals and pets of humankind and add all the pollution caused by factories and power plants, even the coal plant a week Chinese ones with no scrubbers or filters belching pollutants needlessly because they are immune to criticism or pollution control requirements and balance that against the 550 active volcanoes of which an average year has 60 eruptions of which 2/3 are active and constantly erupting such as Stromboli, Kilauea, or Sakurajima. Guess which side of the equation produces more greenhouse gasses and pollutants into the atmosphere, hint, mankind has only once in modern history beaten an erupting volcano on the fly using water pumps, granted, very large water pumps and every last one from Greenland to Britain and beyond was a harbor village in Iceland who slowed and then redirected the lava flow, tens of thousands of cubic yards of lava flow away from directly striking their town losing less than 10% of the buildings. And volcanoes are not the largest producers of greenhouse gasses for which we are very thankful. Anyone know the molecule which generates the greatest amount of greenhouse effect in the atmosphere, and would you like to ban it? We hope not as it is dihydrogen-oxide and the oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, ponds and other bodies of this chemical whose denotation is H2O, yep, water is the greatest producing molecule in the atmosphere that remains a secret because if people ever realized that the oceans beat volcanoes by a factor of hundreds or more and volcanoes beat humanity with all its effects by a factor of thousands then the whole climate change is America’s and the developed world’s fault would be forever buried, but they want to use climate change to change the way you live and then limit your travel demanding you get a license to travel after you pay for a thousand trees to be planted and other garbage coming in the future the way things are heading. So, onward and let’s see the next subject.

 

President made a statement that the United States has cut foreign imports of oil by 60% which he made to sound to be due to renewable energy production and ignored the influence that tripling oil production, largely due to fracking, and the Dakota’s oil boom. An intentional aside, he threw out “gas under two bucks (nice common language rather than the formal dollars) a gallon ain’t (see last comment) bad either” a great little tool politicians use to make a comment, usually to their favor, appear as they just thought of it and threw it out off the cuff, trust one who dabbled in politics, it was on the teleprompter including a signal word to denote its delivery. Enough trees great, cars bad. The “world we preserve,” oh gag me with a spoon.

 

We are now going on to discuss how to keep America safe without isolationism or triumphalism as we cannot be the world’s police. And I have to ask, why not, it had been working somewhat before you broke the entire machine because you were raised in a bubble. The United States spends more on their military than the next eight nations combined. Possibly valid but that is comparing apples to oranges. The United States also spends more on water pipes, telephone equipment, power lines, than those same eight nations, but so what. Let’s talk percentage of GDP to military spending and my bet is that then Israel spends more than the United States. As long as we are making comparisons, my bet is the United States, for the time being as China is about to get into these areas placing their own systems in orbit, but the United States spends more on weather satellites, GPS satellites, satellites to monitor weather on the sun, space telescopes, probes working on or around other planets, and way more on satellites still broadcasting data to Earth from beyond the heliosphere and currently traversing the heliosheath while approaching the so called the heliopause.

He feels the need to remake NATO. First is protecting Americans, as it should be, because terrorist network, yes, he actually said terrorists, somebody probably told him the value of not hedging when talking about violent extremists, and he named al-Qaeda and ISL which is close to the point, because even a handful of terrorists who care little for human life, including their own, can do a lot of damage. No argument here except I would bet he will refer to the small number part in some future argument where he will claim that it is just a small, insignificant number of violent extremists. Well, well, so we sure do not need to push away vital allies in this fight, please tell me this is not where Turkey, or worse, Iran are coming into view, please. The coalition he formed is taking care of Syria which would work better if Congress would authorize use of force in Syria. Further, Iran has been prevented from gaining nuclear weapons and stamped out Ebola in Africa and established trade in Asia if only Congress would act. He claims that we can rid the world of Malaria which could have been accomplished with the judicial and targeted use of DDT back fifty years ago, but because of overuse of DDT by permitting wide swath spraying of even some urban areas to cut down on insects resulted in undernourished birds having overly thin shelled and thus unhealthy eggs. If we had limited the use to only areas where there were stagnant waters, then the judicial use instead of carpet bombing every suburb in America would not have so denuded the areas of insects that it so adversely affected the birds. I can remember the trucks coming every three weeks and spraying unbelievable amounts of what they referred to as bug spray, but our parents knew it was DDT, the chemical which allowed the building of the Panama Canal along with penicillin; but once we were done in the tropics, why continue to allow an inexpensive and easily produced pesticide to continue use worldwide just to rid the world of malaria. But now we must finish the job of eradicating malaria. Why did we refuse to finish the fight a half century ago and saved how many millions of lives? Lives matter even in the poorest of nations where malaria had been a scourge across Africa, South and Central America as well as Asia but not on temperate Europe and America, so ban DDT and watch these continents suffer needlessly. Can you tell this one has stuck in my craw for quite some time?

 

Our glorious future can only happen if we work together and have rational and constructive debates, fix our politics, and now, trust between the citizenry. I fear where he is about to tread. It doesn’t work if we think our opponents are motivated by malice, are unpatriotic, trying to weaken America. Democracy doesn’t work when we fail to compromise, when basic facts are contested, listen only to those who agree with us (then what am I doing here?), public life withers when only the most extreme voices get all the attention, and breaks down when the average person doesn’t think their voice matters, that the system is rigged in favor of the rich, the powerful or some special interest. And we learn that President Obama has regrets and this is one of those few he has about his Presidency, wish I could say the same. He has noticed that the division and relations between the parties had gotten worse instead of better. Talking to the American people he instructs us that it is not enough to change a Congressman or a Senator or even a President to make politics better, we need to change the system. We need to stop drawing congressional districts so that politicians can pick their voters and not the other way around, let a bipartisan committee (we think as it was applause overshadowed), reduce the influence of money in our politics so a handful of individuals or (unintelligible) our elections, stutter stutter stutter if campaign finance reform cannot pass muster in the courts, then we have to find another solution, (damn the Constitution and full steam ahead). He can’t do these things on his own, the last time he complained about that he did do it on his own. Look out America, Obama has seen your future and you are going to become a tribal society fighting and killing instead of voting because he has seen it. Um, ah, no, and here we go into the philosophical rhapsody in his view of what is right, imagine an America where there are no differences, no races, no ethnicity and no religion too. Imagined an America where rah rah rah and the son who comes out for who he is and the father who loves him, the woman who waits forever to vote, the new immigrant who votes for the first time and the State of our Union is strong, um, okie dokie.

 

Summary:
It was shorter than his usual but could have been even shorter. I want a President who simply does what the constitution requires, send a report to Congress, written so that they can review where their President who they will need to work along-side and determine where the nation is going in his opinion and they should reply either directly or through whatever channels they need to abide and oblige. Then for the State of the Union Address, as the press will have already posted the report to Congress for any citizen to read, can simply give an emotional and concise speech delineating what he desires and addresses any urgent events or state of the world which he believes the people need to know the President’s views and where he can sway people. That way the report can be lengthy with figures and breakdowns of every little thing and be completely factual or his opinion and go into greater depth than the presentation. As it stands now, the President will actually make two, if he is wise, State of the Union reports, the copy of this speech and the actual SOTU report as a document of greater length and detail than he would ever wish to deliver to the nation. As this system is currently, that second report, if such does exist, will remain unseen by the people and even if the media were to get a copy, the odds are it would never see print or online unless bloggers or other new media types were to have access. The President will never be giving another SOTU address and for that both he and we are likely grateful.
What is actually far more interesting are the rumors floating around which inform us that President Obama will be touring far more than the fifty-seven states he once claimed were the United States, as now he is campaigning for an entirely new position which will present an interesting problem. He wants to be the next Secretary General of the United Nations. He really thinks he should run the world. This has been the funniest rumor I have run across in years and what makes it even better is it would be even funnier if it is for real. Honest, I think President Obama would make a much better Secretary General of the United Nations than he was President of the United States. If President Obama really thinks that Secretary General is a higher post than President of the United States, he will need to have a serious session with people who know better. The Secretary General of United Nations makes pointless speeches, usually unfortunately ever so much longer than necessary, that’s one qualification he has. He needs to enjoy being powerless, not an Obama strong suit. He would have no military and would need to rely completely on his speech delivery to make his point and win the day. They will make sure his translator to the hard of hearing is an actual translator and not some wanna-be comedian. He will get to visit one-hundred-ninety-three nations and the nonfunctional Palestinian Authority. He would still be dead within fifteen minutes of a Gaza visit. He would still be persona-non-grata in Egypt. Turkey’s Erdogan would remain his best friend. He would have the privilege of dealing with Prime Minister Netanyahu even more often and with less influence or power. He could spend great amounts of time in Europe where the politics are presumably more to his liking. He could have two five year terms which is greater job security than his last job where he will be summarily fired after eight too long years of pain and anguish because the Congress would not play fair and just do as they were told, well, except for parts of those first two dreamy years. As Secretary General nobody anywhere will do as they are told, oh the additional anguishes. As Secretary General may he will have miseries like that of a thousand nights shared in a Bedouin tent with a camel. As Secretary General he can make his best speeches even though no one will listen, not even the chair (thank you Neil Diamond).

What Did You Expect From Candidate O’Perfect

The promise was “Hope and Change” and the rallying cry that made just as much sense, “Yes, We Can!” and was just as vague and amorphous and undefined as was everything in the Candidate O’Perfect’s past. Check all his brilliant articles he had to have written to be made editor of the Harvard Law Review. But no, none are able to be seen yet he was the editor by some mysterious rite of passage as if such was required for some potential future, some arranged, bought and paid for future where he would be a good front man and allow his strings to be pulled, his image and accomplishments massaged so he would appear bright and shining and the all-around perfected candidate; he became candidate O’Perfect. O’Perfect attended Occidental College, a small urban Los Angeles college, from 1979 to 1980 without leaving any records of attendance, grades or many people who saw him in classes or even any footprints in the soft grass after a rain because the grooming of Candidate O’Perfect must never receive a blemish or have a speck of lint show on his perfectly tailored suits as such would be as a stain on the record. Next Candidate O’Perfect attended Columbia University in New York, New York from 1980 to 1983, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science which was oh so perfect and totally free of any blemish for nothing was too good for the grooming of Candidate O’Perfect. We suspect the Candidate O’Perfect actually was simply student normal out enjoying the freedoms and liberties which many students at college avail themselves of and probably was invited or simply attended some event where he either was invited to speak or took an opportunity to speak and the right set of people hears him and that was actually when Candidate O’Perfect was born. First they assured that he would receive his degree with sufficient class standing.

 

Stage two was the seasoning of Candidate O’Perfect getting him the required bonafides by arranging his activities as a community organizer. He organized and he organized until he had been seasoned sufficiently and aged like a fine Champaign, or was that campaign. Now came the time for the impressive Ivy League replete with Blazer and only the finest was appropriate for our seasoned, bonafide, polished Candidate O’Perfect; so it was off to old Boston town to Harvard he did go. As Candidate O’Perfect was breezing through Harvard he found himself listed as the editor of the Harvard Law Review without any arduous efforts and even managed to continue in that position with an equally passive approach to equally passive demands for which he received much kudos as after all, was he not Candidate O’Perfect? Soon Candidate O’Perfect received his degree with a major of Constitutional Law, the perfect degree to compliment his Bachelor Degree in Political Science and his path appeared to be set if only he avoided the kind of slips or falls which might put a dent in his otherwise perfect and carefully crafted record which contained just the right credentials as the upholder and valiant fighter for the under-privileged, decorated as the editor for the premier Law Review in the land and the undergraduate work and rights record paired with a clean and lean appearance with perfect diction, warm personality, fitting message and adaptable accent for every occasion with just the right casualness while showing a side that was erudite but not cavalier or overbearing as that would detract from the image of pure adaptability which was evident in every appearance of Candidate O’Perfect and the record of invincibility only grew with each elected office chosen carefully such that it served well and fit with the mystique and mastery of every part of candidacy, or at least the election campaigning and the rest only served well as long as there was no inspection, but to do so would reveal your craven and racist desires to despoil the crafting Candidate O’Perfect, a record deserving of his story.

 

All was in place and the fully flushed out and shiny young looking, perfectly crafted and with just the right record without blemish except for his deficiency of a complete voting record and the large number of voting “present” on almost every contentious legislation where the people were divided and division belonged in a math course and should not touch the records of Candidate O’Perfect. The powers and crafter behind Candidate O’Perfect decided that allowing him to compile a longer record would give him time for his votes of “present” to probably catch up with him; so they struck while the irons were hot and he was thrust against the candidate claiming that first of being elected a woman whose entire career was spent in and about politics, the governor’s mansion in Arkansas and the White House and a stint in the Senate. Yet Candidate O’Perfect offered just as exciting a first if elected as his father was a native from Kenyan citizen and his mother a citizen of the United States, Caucasian and extreme leftist but Candidate O’Perfect had a sufficiently dark appearance and was married to a woman who left no doubt of his leanings and the camera is the final judge of all facts, thus he was a man of color; making his title of Candidate O’Perfect even more perfect.

 

Thus the first President of Color was born and all the detractions slowly fell silent as they appeared to be all the more the desperate efforts of the crazy wing of the political spectrum which are found at all the extremes of the edges of the political universe. The campaign between the old guard represented by Hilary Clinton against the young, vibrant, well spoken, personable and proves far more electable than the fated Ms. Clinton, the fated, dated, jaded, and quite hated sufficiently while the Candidate O’Perfect simply pooh-poohed as he breezed on towards the convention. Candidate O’Perfect was assaulted with questions about his relations with the Reverend White, but our Candidate O’Perfect simply tossed his head, glared at the original questioner and waved the whole problem aside and upon further questioning simply shoved the Reverend White under the bus and was never seen again, as should a media reporter ever pose such a request, the reporter gets the ‘glaring stare’ which could freeze the everglades in August and then all move on as one reporter nurses his wounds possibly proud of his wounds as they were given by the best; they were given by the Candidate O’Perfect. With the Reverend White firmly stowed under the bus, the Candidate O’Perfect continued waving away unhelpful question after question, occasionally throwing a tantrum before tossing another question after another. There were the questions about his childhood and whether he is an American by birth, how he became editor of the Harvard Law Review without writing any articles any search could produce; Candidate O’Perfect with his official record this and his perfect record that; and all them he handles with glib retorts and the media reveled in his perceived brilliance. It appeared that Candidate O’Perfect was their man through unto the end and through the nominating and vetting process he sliced as if chosen by a higher power.

 

As if a Hollywood story he swept through the campaign making a mockery of his opponent often seeming to write the media reviews of his campaign stops and debate performances. Nothing was out of bounds and nobody cared to stand between Candidate O’Perfect and his destiny, a destiny writ large across the skies, certainly this would be a match made in Heaven, Candidate O’Perfect drew closer and closer to election day and the only question on all the correct people’s minds was by how much he could win and would this be a complete shutout. Election Day came and went and the fairytale story would indeed have a happy ending and the land did rejoice the election of Candidate O’Perfect and the term of President O’Perfect was soon to begin. His victory speech had all the trappings at Grant Park in his home city of Chicago, Illinois, on November 4, 2008, before an estimated crowd of 240,000 and viewed on television and the Internet by millions of people around the globe. President O’Perfect was not quite yet in the Oval Office but who cared about such trivialities at such a historic time. President O’Perfect’s meteoric ride had climaxed at its perfect end, and how could it have ended any differently, Candidate O’Perfect to President O’Perfect, it had that magical ring and the whole world was lain out before him like a fated oyster just waiting for him to produce its perfect pearl; no-one could hardly wait for the coronation ceremony and the crowning of President O’Perfect which would welcome us to that world of promise he swirled the audience and they swooned with victory speech which came to a crescendo as he finished at such a high note with his closing words,

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment – this was the time – when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

Now we await the words which can only be able to lift us here for President O’Perfect knew the words to say and the way to say them; surely we would all be drunk on his promises by the time they place the crown upon his head and officially name him President O’Perfect, our time has come angel who will heal our stricken world. He gave us hope all the way back on Super Tuesday but we remember Candidate O’Perfect’s words for they still ring in our ears and hearts, those words, “You see, the challenges we face will not be solved with one meeting in one night. Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. We are the hope.” And we replied at his every pause with “Yes We Can!”

 

Certainly his inaugural speech will be the best speech ever delivered. And as President O’Perfect reached his closing remarks we awaited another ending above all speeches ever given, and we waited and his words flowed melodically as he stated his ending words,

So let us mark this day with remembrance of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America’s birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At the moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words to be read to the people:
“Let it be told to the future world…that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive… that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it].”
America: In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.

 

That was his memorable finale? Quoting some long dead guy from the dead of winter, whatever does all that mean? Could we have been wrong and he really is no different than all those other politicians who lift us with great hope and then when the time comes to strike hard a blow at the institutions, the inequalities. What happened to the heal the Earth and the words which could move mountains of supporters? Could we have been deceived, could we have trusted a charlatan, a pretender, a man who really is not Yes We Can but more of a Yes I Will brought to us by craftiness and deceits? Where do we go if his delivery of a new age crafted around our hopes and dreams was a mirage all along? I fear we have been misled and taken to a dangerous place where our own dreams and aspirations were used to sneak a puppet whose masters we do not know into the most powerful office in the world? What can we do to undo this farce? But by the time for reelection came the words were more practical and the other choice was no choice, what could we do> We had to support him and hope that now when President O’Perfect no longer need worry about reelections he can be his own man, the man we knew at the beginning, the man who plucked our heartstrings with a melodic swansong would return and repair everything and be the man we knew he could be. But perhaps President O’Perfect was all hype, glitz and glamour, a show for public consumption meant to catch our greatest hopes and play on our greatest fears, worst guilts and strongest fears. What did we do listening to his sweet song again? The sirens’ song has pulled us off course again and we now fear we will be dashed against the rocks and shipwrecked on a dangerous island surrounded by an angry ocean with no boat and one spear amongst us, we are truly imperiled.

 

The costume on President O’Perfect is tattered and torn and his words have long ago lost all hope and we watch waiting nervously as we watch the show being prepared for our gullible little minds. It is an old song, a song which once before we ignored. What if we had listened back then and we had elected a different President O’Perfect, instead now it will be a woman who knows the ropes and imbroglios and thus will avoid making the same mistakes. Maybe this time she will be our Candidate H for Hillary Clinton the new President Operfectill-is-Perfect.She will simply toss aside the old Law Firm accusations and dismiss herself from Bill unless she requires his magic and Benghazi, you saw her at the witch trials, they could not touch her, what Benghazi? Candidate H for Hillary Clinton the new President Operfectill-is-Perfect will punt them and for good measure tell them the truth, her hands were tied and she was under orders and no she cannot and will not reveal from whom or when the order was given because, should she become, or do we say when she becomes our candidate, there will hardly be a day, an hour, or possibly some stations will run this quote instead of the news at the top and bottom of every hour such that by the time the November elections come around it will have lost its sting and her fateful words that were said that significant and quotable day when Hillary Clinton introduced us to her what-if-I-care side and answered shouting angrily,

“With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night decided to go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?”

 

Perhaps all the words will have meaning and the American people will take their vote this time seriously and remember the United States has a position and obligation to the world at large and it is darn sure time that She, the undying American symbol of all that is decent,

rise up and carry that weight She assumed as the Lady of Liberty, Freedom, and People’s Rights the World Over and stands again astride the troubled waters and lands representing all that is decent and good about America signaling that America has returned to the world and will soon arrive to put things right which is why She stands atop the Capital Dome and those people need Her to stand again, proud and most definitively loud when answering our calls.
