The Offer Israel Must Refuse

Thanks to Caroline B. Glick for her article Obama’s Money and Israel’s Sovereignty and her careful and complete dissecting of the Defense Spending Offer from the White House and flushing out the implications. To sum up briefly what Caroline B. Glick related, one should still go read her article as it offers more than stated here, please. The offer is large and fully sufficient presumably providing that nothing too unforeseen might arise. The difficulties stem largely if Israel was in a delicate position where secrecy was required to do a mission for which some tactical backup might become necessary and prudence would require that arrangements be made to procure additional military purchase. Israel would be required to work through the White House and should the White House refuse then there would be no going to Congress and no recourse. Congress would also be prevented from overstepping White House decision nor could Congress alter the program in any manner. Lastly, only the President would be capable of making any adjustments forcing Israel to garner White House approval before any military actions even should Israel be attacked. The final straw is that Israel would no longer be permitted to use United States funding on domestically produced military equipment. This would result in the virtual collapse of Israeli defense spending and research and development.

Caroline Glick did not probe deeply in laying blame and delved largely into the ramifications and reasons that the deal must be refused and why she feared the Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu would believe he had to accept this deal or face living without any deal and the potential that refusing this deal could lead to an even worse offer coming down the road from the next United States President whether it turn out to be Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Rather, we will look at the advantages of not having a deal with the United States with a slightly different slant. The obvious advantage, as Caroline Glick stated, is it would allow for additional jobs as this would require Israel to start producing her own weapons systems, ammunitions and other military related systems, clothing and support vehicles and other requirements. All of that is true and is of great importance but is nothing compared to what it could mean and the advantages those options would produce which are both fascinating and encouraging.

One of the first items is that the many anti-rocket, anti-missile and anti-projectiles of all sorts which Israel is currently developing with a number of United States companies such as Raytheon will continue to be developed and any funding required by the United States companies would then be required to come from the United States and any developments and discoveries made by Israeli companies such as IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries) would remain as Israeli property and not automatically licensed to the United States companies working with the Israeli companies unless such were identified in any contract. Israel has likely provided the United States far more technological inventions, discoveries, designs, software programs, software hardware systems and subsystems, sensors, drones, avionics and countless other benefits even down to the most basic and simple as to appear as an obvious means to manage what had been perplexing some of the greatest military development minds in the United States and was solved by an innovative Israeli pilot with a quick trip to an auto parts store. The difficulty escaping all the great minds on both sides of the planet was seeing when somebody is coming up behind an F-16 Jet Fighter in a firefight and the Israeli pilot installed a rally rearview mirror on the Jet choosing one which was aerodynamic so as to reduce drag. If we remember correctly he used the side view mirror of a 1969 Mustang. Sometimes solution just present themselves and those kind are often sourced by the seemingly obvious which never occurred to anyone but were so obvious afterwards. There were still a number of months and numerous modifications to the mirror to justify the million plus probably spent to perfect the aerodynamics as the F-16 does fly a little faster than even the Mustang Mach I Cobra.

Looking back at the one large item in the Israeli arsenal, the Merkava Main Battle Tanks, one sees a system which has throughout its numerous renditions held its own in trials against comparable heavy battle tanks from Europe, Russia and the United States. Israel has made some astounding developments in rifle and sidearm technologies. IMI Israeli Military Industries has introduced the Iron Fist System for protecting anything from a tank to a truck to a bunker and anything else as shown below in the video. The second video is about the Delilah missile which is a very special air-to-ground with standoff and loiter capabilities, and has ship or ground launch variants. Israeli weapons and weapons systems are so diverse and varied that Future Weapons ended up dedicating a week’s worth of shows, many of which can be found on You Tube. They vary from such simple ideas as a gun which can be fired around corners using a camera looking down the sited and a small screen to the Iron Dome missile intercept systems and a defensive weapon which detects incoming RPGs and literally slices the nose off the projectile defusing it through decapitation. And Israel has had a long list of weapons and weapons improvements. It was the Israelis who took the Sherman Tanks from World War II and swapped out the engine for a supercharged diesel engine and swapped the underpowered main gun with a modernized 105mm cannon firing high speed projectiles, a system given to the United States extending the useful life of the Sherman Tank with what became known as the Super Sherman. Israel has been made by treaties to share most of their technology with the United States who immediately use the best and upgrade it for their troops. This sharing has proven not to be a two way street as much as the price Israel pays in order to be favored when the United States feels generous.

There is an argument put forth that the United States has always been there for Israel from 1948 on. That is a nice sounding lie if you are an American looking to feel good but a pernicious lie which many Israelis find a bitter pill to swallow. That is because it is such a lie which leaves out ignoring much of the real history. The United States took a hands off approach to the Genocidal Arab invasions into Israel in 1948 placing an arms embargo on the Jewish State and it is claimed also the Arab States except that many America Arms ended up on the Arab nations’ sides as war surplus was sold to these nations though denied to Israel. After the cease-fire lines were set did the United States finally sell Israel some Sherman Tanks and other weapons demanding that any improvements Israel might make to the weapons had to be shared with the United States. It was not until after the Six Day War that the United States started fully backing Israel. This is claimed was due to the Israeli victory in that war and had nothing to do with preventing Israel from completing their trials and manufacture of the Lavi Jet fighter which could have competed with the F-16 in world arms trade which Israel agreed to stop development in exchange for a sweet weapons deal of F-16s and F-15s and a promise of supply when needed. President Obama is not the first President to withhold weapons which Israel was due during a war as President Nixon played that game on the advice of Henry Kissinger so as to make Israel more pliable in any solution to the Yom Kippur War. It has long been the United States’ position, or at least the State Department’s position, that Israel be squeezed back within its 1949 armistice lines and possibly further to the United Nations’ 1947 division that the Arabs refused, choosing invading instead. The United States had been as much a hindrance as an ally when Israel has been in the lurch and needing help now and not in a few weeks. Such situations have almost always been used by the United States to apply pressures to prevent a complete Israeli victory and save the Arab nations and please the Saudis always trying to make Israel as weak as possible as the Israelis will manage another win and if not return to wander the Earth hated and despised, blamed for every ill and hunted down and murdered whenever things went poorly. That is how friendship is defined.

Simply put, this new arms and military support doctrine is yet another means by which the United States is attempting to place Israel between a rock and the Presidency where the President will be in a position to literally all but disarm Israel making her far more pliable and thus being able to make Israel sit up and pay mind to her overlords. This is much more than a bad deal, this is slavery to the whims of the American Presidents, something that President Obama like Presidents Nixon, Eisenhower, Truman and all before him have proven cannot be trusted to be our friends as much as the great equalizers. Israel cannot afford equal any longer as rockets make size more important than ever before. Perhaps it is time to cut ties with the United States, finish out any agreements and become a lone broker of our future and go it alone if that is what it will take. We are sure Israel can design and build any weapons system of the future as we have designed so many for others in the past. Going it alone would provide Israel an advantage in employment, technology, and weapons systems which the rest of the world could only dream of possessing. That is our faith in Israel’s ability to shine on her own and find the means to surpass anything she might have achieved attached at the hip to the United States State Department, an Arabist institution if there ever was one and a definite hater of all things Israel. No, we need to cut the umbilical cord as it is way past time to do so. We broke from French partnership and now we need make our relations with the United States into a two way street where our minds and their developments will bear a cost and not be taken freely by treaty any further. We will make discoveries and developments for us and by us and in the end built by us and sold if we choose to whom we choose and not be a subsidiary of the United States arms market. That should be the future of Israel and not a vassal state. This is our path for the future as the United States proved untrustworthy once again and the next time might prove fatal and thus cannot be permitted even the chance of destroying our lives and worse, the lives of our children and their children. This deal should be answered, “Thanks but no thanks.”

When Lunacy Rules and Lunatics Follow

If one really wishes to get into the minutia and every particular of the latest lunacy, one can read the entire PDF document Security First which gives the entirety of a plan for a new partial surrender of land for peace. Then going further with a series of sources there is the entire media blitz from a group calling themselves “Commanders for Israel’s Security”. No matter how they tell their story or whatever blitz and glitz they add to polish it and make it sparkle and dazzle, their plan is another retreat without requiring the Arab side to make any concessions or even to recognize Israel’s right to exist as the homeland for the Jewish people. There is this impatience which infects groups time after time as they break down under the threats and demands from Europeans and other international sources, in this case including Saudi Arabia represented as a neutral source in this discussion, to make something happen where the world can see that there is some action in the movement towards peace. The problem is that every time these pressures force an action, it is always some group of Israelis who insist that if only Israel shows her good faith then the Arabs will reciprocate. There is only one small flaw in their reasoning, the Arab side has never ever reciprocated and instead has promised that with the assistance of world pressure they will step by step destruct Israel until it is shrunk to the point they can destroy it in a single attack.

There were the demands from the United Nations, the Europeans and America as well as Mothers of the IDF who said we needed to pull back from the security zone in southern Lebanon and trust United Nations peacekeepers and the promises of the Lebanese government. Israel bent largely due to the vigils and media pressure from Mothers of the IDF more than the world pressure and Prime Minister Ehud Barak with assurances from the Generals of the day, today’s retired generals, retreated back south of the Blue Line, the United Nations and internationally recognized border between Israel and Lebanon. United Nations inspectors came and blessed the retreat as being all proper and recognized as being complete. The area which was vacated by Israel did not become a place where the Lebanese army and United Nations peacekeepers took control and guaranteed Israeli border security. Instead Hezballah took complete control of the areas south of the Litany River to the Israeli border. The United Nations peacekeepers remained in their posts and never patrolled or made any move without first checking with the Hezballah forces. The claim was they could not find any Hezballah forces. Perhaps they should have checked the other side of the building the two shared on the Israeli border (see below). Then the inevitable happened and the cost was worse than any low level violence in the safety buffer zone which Israel had surrendered to Hezballah in their voluntary retreat to the Blue Line to satisfy world and Israeli defeatist pressures.

United Nations Hezballah Share Border Building

United Nations Hezballah Share Border Building

The inevitable started on July 12, 2006 as Hezballah fired diversionary rockets into Israel targeting a small community across the border which masked their ambush of an Israeli patrol. Israel forces had fallen into the worst possible of situations where they performed their patrols on a schedule almost like clockwork. This allowed for Hezballah to time their rocket attack to coincide with a cross border raid. Hezballah initiated the raid by firing anti-tank missiles at a Humvee patrol resulting in three soldiers dead and two Israeli soldiers were abducted. Hezbollah demanded the release of Lebanese prisoners held by Israel in exchange for the release of the abducted soldiers to which Israel refused and responded with airstrikes and artillery fire on targets in Lebanon. Hezballah responded with rocket fire into northern Israel launching from bunkers and residential homes. Israeli return fire struck both the Hezballah bunkers and the homes and other public buildings used by Hezballah. Hezballah had learned from Hamas and the Arab Palestinians to fire from civilian structures and then place the resulting damage when Israel returned fire on rocket launch positions hitting civilian structures from which the rockets had been fired. Israel eventually made an ill planned hasty assault into Lebanon with infantry and tanks and paid a heavy price for their lack of preplanning and preparations. Israeli losses included five tanks destroyed, numerous helicopters destroyed, one naval ship heavily damaged, one-hundred-twenty-one IDF soldiers killed and one-thousand-forty-four injured as well as forty-four civilian deaths and one-thousand-eighty-four civilians injured. Casualties on the Lebanese and Hezballah side included an estimated five-hundred Hezballah fighters killed and Amnesty International numbers of civilian casualties showed approximately one-thousand dead and estimated four-thousand-five-hundred injured. As with every war between Israel and a terror enemy, they set their launching sites and combat strong points located in the presence of civilians and civilian structures in order to maximize civilian damages and casualties and then petition the world media to condemn the horrific civilian toll resulting from the Israeli efforts taking absolutely no blame on themselves and gaining media sympathy worldwide.

The situation today is potentially even worse as, thanks to Iran providing rockets and missiles via Damascus, Hezballah now has an estimated one-hundred-thousand to one-quarter of a million rockets and missiles pointed at Israel with at least one third having sufficient range to reach anywhere in Israel. Hezballah leader Nasrallah has sworn in repeated broadcasts that in the next war with Israel he promises to destroy Tel Aviv and kill untold thousands of Israelis leaving the entire nations in ruins. The deafening silence from the world over his repeated threats to launch complete and utter destruction on Israel is not that astounding as condemnations must at worst be leveled against Israel in equal or greater proportion to those leveled at her enemies. The next war, may such never come to pass, may result in heavy damage in Israel but the damage which will necessarily be leveled on Lebanon just in efforts to destroy as many missile and rocket launchers to prevent a devastating number of Israeli casualties will be utterly horrific. Neither side will win the next conflict while any success will be in avoidance of destructions and minimizing casualties. Israelis will once again need to stock their shelters at the first sign of increased agitations and threatened hostilities as they may be spending an extended amount of time sitting in these very shelters. There are numerous reasons that Israel requires shelters for every tenant in any new structures with each unit having a hardened room for protection. May these reinforced rooms never need to be used.

Then there was a second lesson where in August of 2005 Israel removed thousands of Israelis from Gaza and removed all IDF forces turning everything over to Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority. Within two years in 2007 the Palestinian Authority lost Gaza to Hamas offering minimal resistance during a week of hostilities. Since then Hamas has forced a war every two to three years with ever increasing rockets being fired from civilian areas rather than using the farm lands which surround the crowded city areas. This is done to increase the damage caused to the residents of Gaza. What is the saddest is that Hamas leaders never fire the rockets from the wealthier areas of Gaza and always from near apartment buildings. For the record, most Hamas members live in these wealthier areas of Gaza (see examples below). The resort hotels, main business districts, wealthiest neighborhoods, luxury mall, best restaurants and homes of the rich and famous are saved from being used as rocket launching sites. The destroyed areas you see all the time are from a somewhat limited area of Gaza City in the poorest neighborhoods mostly bordering as well as inside the Gaza City refugee camp which is run by UNRWA and whose residents are seldom permitted beyond the camp boundaries. Think back to the riots in Los Angeles, Ferguson, and Baltimore and there were great amounts of damage and devastation almost all within the central black and poorer neighborhoods but where the politicians live and the wealthy and the main business sections of town were untouched. The same is true in all of the Gaza Strip, the poorest suffer and the wealthy continue to enjoy life.

Now the next brilliant idea is to surrender everything east of the security fence/wall/barrier removing any Israelis residing in these areas such as settlements like Itamar, Hevron, and a total of approximately forty-percent of settlements even including some areas which would be quite surprising as the security barrier runs far closer to the Green Line than the shrill arguments would lead one to believe. The retired Generals and other Security Chiefs with so much experience by their own admissions, have shown that this time it would be different as we could take our time and deconstruct the areas we would eventually be surrendering and the IDF would remain in the entirety of the areas in which they currently are operating until such time as an adequate security arrangement and force could be implemented. So, Israelis would leisurely be removed because immediately after Israel adopts this suicide pact there would be screaming from all corners of the globe, well, Europe and Turtle Bay (United Nations) along with the United States State Department and President Obama for the Jews to be out of those now admitted illegal outposts. So we would see Gaza redux as far as our withdrawal but the IDF would remain just like they remained in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon. What exactly do these men of great and brilliant minds see happening when, like Lebanon, we start losing three or four soldiers a week to snipers and that occasional squad of ten to twelve in a single ambush. We would have the Mothers of the IDF and headlines every time a single soldier got a hangnail telling of the anguish and pain. Peace Now, B’Tselem, and Breaking the Silence would have a bevy of soldiers interviewed all terrified of the horrific conditions and rules of engagement (there might be support against the Rules of Engagement ROE from us claiming it was too restrictive) which would be shown three times each newscasts and lead every hour on IDF Radio. How long would it be before the world pressures us that the Palestinian Authority Security Force was ready, willing and able to assume control from the IDF leading to another Hamas coup just like in Gaza or worse, Islamic State moving in on the Palestinian Authority forces? I would generously give it three to four months, with a six week deadline, for the start of the pull-out-now demonstrations to begin abroad and at home. So, we would have a mixture of the failed policies of Lebanon and Gaza mixed in a dangerous concoction called land for peace. Imagine the potential disasters of almost pulling out of Judea and Samaria without a single concessionary peep out of Mahmoud Abbas and likely his greatest encouragement and praise for such a great day it was for peace. That alone should scare the life out of everyone. This plan actually has received the Saudi seal of approval as being sufficiently close to their Saudi Plan, the Arab Plan, which was labelled as suicidal not all that long ago. But then we have always realized that our fortitude was left wanting and we were always overly optimistic about reaching an honorable peace. Somehow a unilateral surrender of large swaths of lands to our sworn terrorist enemies cannot be allowed to become our definition of taking the first move for peace. Thus far we have taken approaching a dozen first moves for peace without ever receiving anything other than a demand for more and faster with the current retreat.

This plan, wrapped in such a long winded and gorgeous package, with pretty and dazzling colors and backers from the most respected of all left-wing, post-Zionist lunatics Israel has been capable of gathering, when stripped bare, it is the surrender of Judea and Samaria in Toto to the Arab Palestinian Authority for the brief moment until something worse comes along, just like Gaza. What government institution dropped the ball and gave these former generals and security chiefs the right to attempt an end around on the elected government. This entire idea is reminiscent of the Oslo Accords which were hammered out under the cloak of darkness and secrecy from even the members of the Knesset and anybody who might have raised the alarm against the Oslo Accords. Instead of a reasoned debate the fateful signing of the Oslo Accords was a done deal before any deliberations could have been entertained. This “Security First” publication and proposal has all the earmarks of a secret treaty carried out behind the backs of the elected coalition members and is being given its inaugural rollout with the appearance of a done deal where the signatures are as if on a binding treaty and one has to wonder is there a signature from the other side hidden to be revealed in a week or two as the government is blindsided by an international agreement to which this self-appointed shadow government has already promised full Israeli support and readiness to comply with the withdrawal post-haste. The governing coalition must present this “Security First” document into the Knesset for a very public and full blown consideration before being summarily discarded as the piece of trash it really is. There is no ignominy which the authors of this plan could be subjected to that would be beyond their deserved treatment. Further, if the government cannot tear up this faux-treaty, then the coalition need be dismissed and the core uniting plank in the next coalition must be formed around the complete and unabashed rejection of every morsel of this poisonous concoction. These retired generals, commanders and security chiefs have attempted to shackle Israel with making her near impossible to live with the high ground just east of Ben Gurion International Airport and a full seventy percent plus of Israeli public, production, power generation, industrial heartlands and other forms of economic and social centers as well as the beating heart of Israel, Jerusalem, all under fire from Arab rockets and other projectiles including mortar, artillery and sniper fire, as from some of the surrendered high ground one can view the Mediterranean and everything between the heights and the beaches in question.

The claims that the world will look at Israel differently, that the world will support us retaking the area when everything fails, that the world has our backs are all lies. The world will look at us differently as they will know Israel cannot exist in such a state as every international carrier will cancel all contracts with Ben Gurion International Airport which will have fallen silent except for the El Al counter and concourse. The world would far sooner every Israeli be driven into the sea than allow us to take the high ground from our murderous tormentors and only have our backs in order to sink their knives up to their hilts applying the final coup de grace such that they can take credit for finishing the Final Solution and make the world safe from the violence of jihad as the only reason for jihad, Israel, has been eliminated. That is an utterly false concept but it is no different than the “Security First” concept for Israeli final surrender before the world, the very world which will care for our plight and provide the necessary support when our needs become dire. When Mahmoud Abbas gets wind of this proposal, he will publically refute it as not being sufficient as it does not address the right of return or the complete withdrawal from all of Palestine which must be free from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.

What will be the final result should this deal become fact? First is all commerce within Israel will cease for all intents and purposes; Israel’s busiest airport will fall silent; Israel will become a ghost town as those who had not previously fled would now go underground and pray to be rescued before it would become too late. Finally, the words and arguments will have resulted in stripping Israel back to the borders she had up to the Six Day War. With Israel stripped bare of the added depth which has become so vital against rockets where line of sight allows for easier corrections and more ease in choosing said targets. Even the Dimona complex will now be vulnerable as will the trains should they venture into open ground as they must to be useful. Jerusalem will be the first to feel the pinch as she will have become cut off from the body of Israel and will likely face strangulation as the Arabs will be overlooking both rail and road access to Israel’s historic and spiritual heart. After Jerusalem falls and her Jews are taken hostage, what will be left for Israel to do to resist the next assault? The Prime Minister, President and the majority of the Knesset will have fallen with only the crafters of the horror unfolding will be permitted escape back to the body of Israel. Here these weasels we call generals and intelligence chiefs will be the ones the people will now turn. Irony of ironies that those who made the entire scenario possible will be the ones asked to lead in our darkest hour. Israel has chosen to follow leaders whose errors almost destroyed her people but these leaders will get every Jew murdered through their perfidy and once Israel is to fall this time, it will be her last fall. It is that this cannot be allowed to happen which gives us the hope that sufficient Israelis are awake and know that land for peace is simply playing Russian roulette and we have already played that game too long. Time to leave the party and try a new land for peace, the one where we keep the land and that brings us eventual peace. Oh, and the Arab terror leadership, their schools and everything used to try and destroy us is part of cleansing Israel from the poisoners surrounding her. First, let us clean our house of vipers and snakes lying in the tall grasses who have tried repeatedly to claim surrender is victory and weakness is strength all while claiming with peace the land is not necessary. Instead we need but follow the commandments in Torah and settle all the Promised Lands and peace, strength and vigor will return and other greater miracles will ensue. First we do our assigned part and then the rest simply becomes the unavoidable future which prophesy told us in Psalm and Proverb. The answers have been right there for all to find and follow and the time to choose is rapidly to be upon us. These generals and security officials are the false prophets as we have seen the fruit of their counsel and troubles and misery has been the result. It is time to choose new counsel and to follow new paths to a fruitful future. It is time to follow a book which had proven the one true path to freedom, justice and most precious peace.

How Democracy Dies in Israel

Though we had discussed thoughts of this nature we could only obliquely refer to our suspicions but thanks to Caroline B. Glick for her article which is the meat of our commentary and worth reading as her manner and ability to cut to the bone and serve the meat on any subject is particularly poignant and we would feel as if we had deprived our readers of every morsel and fact within her article The Fruits of Subversion which we read in Jewish World Review which is one of many places where Carolyn Glick can be found. The discussion we will attempt will be to delve into some of the ramifications; both the potential, and the other simply dread and hopefully never come to pass. Needless to point out, adding to a Caroline B. Glick article is not a task for the queasy and in this endeavor failure is not only an option but even a probability. I guess by now we can simply assume that Caroline B. Glick is a reporter and editorialist extraordinaire whom we hold in high esteem. Now let us proceed and try and tackle this not so simple task and hope for the best.

There has been a shadow government operating in concert with the administration of a foreign power, that of President Barack Obama and the United States Department of State. This government has taken upon itself the pursuit of an agenda which is completely the opposite of that of the elected government. These individuals have taken upon themselves to assist the aims of President Barack Obama and report to the State department, administration appointees and even the Secretary of State or the Director of Central Intelligence Agency any deviations from the presumptive and United States approved policy potentially taken or in the plans of the government in Israel. Examples from the article included reporting the plans for a strike on the Iranian nuclear sites and we might discern that other such treasonous revelations granted the United States and Obama Administration would include any objections or arguments which Prime Minister Netanyahu might have regarding any peace and concessions and any resistance to of President Obama’s carefully laid out agenda which he and his tools in Israel believed to be superior and a better path for Israel going into the future and against the will of the voters and their elected governance. The problem is that this infection had spread throughout much of the highest ranks including the general staff as well as the intelligence community. Caroline Glick mentioned some names but we suspect, as does she more than likely, that the disease is rotting through many institutions who see their job description to include preserving the democracy their politics support, the people be damned, as what do the people know about the realities of the world and the best of paths for the state of Israel. Another place where this rot had held sway since the beginning of the state of Israel and through the same process of self-appointing replacements and choosing those of identical political philosophies while punishing those who hold contrary opinions even to the point of demotions or forced retirement from serving the country is the Supreme Court and likely the entire legal and judicial system.

Perhaps this might be a good time to confess that we did not vote for Likud and much of the reasoning was a dislike and distrust of Prime Minister Netanyahu and wished that there was some way of either limiting the number of total years or terms a Prime Minister is permitted to serve and after that set period of time they would need to set aside their leadership of the nation and allow another to be the representative of their party as Prime Minister even if they continued to lead the party. Such an example might be that Prime Minister Netanyahu after serving, say, a decade holding the office of Prime Minister he would need appoint another from the party, or better yet, have the party choose the new Prime Minister designate to represent that position for example it might be Gilad Erdan, Yuli Edelstein, Yerael Kats or any other Likud member in good standing. Perhaps with such a limitation allowing for fresh leadership even if the same party remains as leading the government year after year after year which might prevent the self-appointed demi-gods from perverting the elective process and the choices of the people and destroying the democracy in order, in their minds, to preserve the democracy.

Part of the problem, as we estimate the situation, is that due to sclerotic and often paralytic political power structure which retains a small group of leadership holding all of the positions including Prime Minister and his Cabinet that stresses the top positions in the military, courts, intelligence and other political and security positions which are not elected directly or indirectly by the people into using their privileged positions and access to the decisions, plans and other intelligence including both external, internal and even secretive plans which only the very highest military position and heads of intelligence have privilege to acquire and who are trusted by the people not to overstep their boundaries and serve the people and its government. What is even more disturbing is the seeming support these paragons of perfect knowledge, or at least self-perceived as such, have abused their positions and forfeited the trust of the people and the government they are presumably serving have been celebrated and even granted privileged acceptance and praises from their political allies who are leaning on these people of rank to allow for their political goals and views to be implemented through abuse of force and forfeiting the votes of millions of their nation’s citizenry. The actions of the previous Director of the Mossad, Maj. Gen. Meir Dagan, and commanders such as Deputy Chief of General Staff Maj.-Gen. Yair Gola, compared Israeli society to the Nazis on Holocaust Remembrance Day; the General Staff’s vilification of Sgt. Elor Azaria, for killing a wounded terrorist in Hebron; and the drumming from his position as a commander of an Infantry Company of Lt. Col. Shalom Eisner for striking a European leftist instigator who had earlier broken a number of Eisner’s fingers and caused other equally painful injuries which required medical treatment.

Ya'alon and General Staff

Ya’alon and General Staff

The general policy being empowered by these paragons of democracy, well, at least in their own minds, and that of the extreme leftists, the defeatists, the leftist media which is to say the majority of the mainstream media, the European Union, United Nations, European government and media, and worst of all the anti-Zionist, anti-Israeli Administration of President Barack Obama is one duly leftist in its approach to all policies and completely placating and forgiving empowering the Arab Palestinians and the terror infrastructure and support systems all in the name of peace at any price even to include the complete compromise of the freedom and identity of Israel as the Jewish State. The obvious question is why these generals are not simply forced from service and replaced with other senior officers who hold more reasonable understandings of the power and responsibility of the military to serve the governance elected by the people. One reason is that it is very likely that the Supreme Court would intervene and return these general staff officers and likely find some choice names of officers who are approaching senior positions and blame them for attempting to overthrow the general staff and they themselves would find themselves drummed from service and potentially incarcerated, thus is the established leftist shadow governance. As far as removing such generals from the IDF, such a move would necessarily require the support of the Defense Minister and MK Ya’alon leans left himself and would likely defend these generals and may be partly the reason that Ya’alon was chosen for the position such as to have a person who could work with the generals the IDF offered and not one to shake things up and rock the boat. The entirety of the system of unelected policy experts who are pursuing their own agenda is an echo chamber which amplifies the problem which will take a brave and ready to fall on their political swords for the nation and its people.

The final item we will attempt to cover is why it may be time to find a new Prime Minister to replace Netanyahu, from Likud if necessary. The nation needs a bold leader who is willing to take whatever steps are required to enforce the will of the people. Such a person would be, by necessity, somebody with an almost careless outlook and one who does not prefer the limelight and instead simply desires sacrificing to serve the nation and its people. Unfortunately such a person is unlikely as a parliamentary system is not usually capable of taking dire steps even when many see it as necessary. A Parliamentary system most often places a party functionary who has the right pedigree often the result of years of steady service to the party as a dedicated soldier. This is how Ya’alon became Defense Minister as did the rest of the Prime Minister’s inner cabinet. One of the complaints we have often heard was that there was such a seeming dearth of politicians who would be worthy of being the next Prime Minister. Even when other parties are added to the discussion with their presumed additional candidates there are still very few if any additional candidates who might excite the people, or at least none of us here. We did have one we would have hoped would offer themselves as a challenger for the office of Prime Minister as the lead of their party but they made a couple of defeatist comments, one in particular which displayed a serious deficiency which displayed they were not ready for prime time, let alone Prime Minister. If anyone has any ideas on a viable challenger, please encourage them as Israel cannot long survive these closed systems and their ruinous effect acting against the will of the people. The leaders in the legal systems, military, intelligence and law enforcement systems are presumed and designed to serve the people and the government and to implement the desires and policies of same, not take it upon themselves to be gods and rule taking power upon themselves simply because they see themselves as superior to the elected governance. Such is a closed system free of outside forces for change thus not reflecting the will of the people as they serve and should not be placing themselves above the people and their welfare, which is also against Torah.

Thank you all,
