A Walking Wrecking Ball and the Media

 

The media is completely flummoxed as to what to do about the situation they find the United States to be in currently. They simply are finding the situation improbable, intolerable even, as despite their reporting of all the sins and indiscretions of the President, he is still walking free laying waste to the left at every turn. Their walk through the mystery tour started with the Republican primaries and the first Republican debate. The media scorned and cast him as uncouth, foul mouthed, disrespectful and unworthy of the office of the President. Still, the main label of the night was “Low Energy Jeb,” a name that was echoed by Jeb Bush’s performance. Within the week, Jeb Bush was out of the race. The media continued to castigate him at every opportunity and Donald Trump used their coverage to continue to rename his opponents with the names Trump gave them. There was Little Marco, Lyin’ Ted, 1 for 38 Kasich and whatever caught the attention when repeated by the media. Of course, the media repeated these names as they would hurt Republicans and Donald Trump counted on that. Then on the campaign, he used Lyin Hillary and Crooked Hillary and similar names and used Twitter to spread his campaign. The media tried to make Trump appear to be the one to lose the election big time to depress his voters. If anything, it resulted in suppressing the Hillary Clinton voters. Whatever the media effect, it resulted in the one result they could not understand or even contemplate, President Donald Trump. Not only had their misrepresenting the news and attempts at manipulating the entire campaign season backfired and placed a Republican in the White House, it had placed the man they hated most, the man they loathed and the most uncouth of the candidates according to everything they had claimed. Now they are left dealing with what they wrought.

 

Now the media is facing an ever worse case scenario. Their efforts to paint Donald Trump as corrupt and Russians under the direction of Vladimir Putin interfering with the election assisting Trump being elected is blowing up in their faces. Currently it is starting to appear as if the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice are being dragged down as interfering with the election and working with the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee in efforts to pin Trump and Russia into a frame over some form of conspiracy. But it gets worse for the media as they are beginning to be linked and made complicit in slanting their reporting to assist these efforts. Everything that Donald Trump touches results in some new and additional defeat for the media and the Democrats and a fair number of the Republican establishment. The one thing which appears to be most valid is that wherever Trump treads, the establishment trembles. It matters little which establishment, the Bushes, the Clintons, the Never-Trump Republicans, the elites of the Democrat and Republican Parties, the elite media and now we are on the verge of watching the downfall of the Deep State. What will inevitably be referred to as Memogate, everything has to be something-gate since Watergate, we are going to likely witness an ever-widening conspiracy which will also include the State Department and, from there, who knows where it is going to lead. There are already claims that President Obama may also be drawn into the dragnet being cast and harvesting those who combined to attempt and actually manipulate the election for Hillary Clinton and against Donald Trump. But there will be some repercussions which will be of potential for great service for the American people if President Trump can manage to accomplish changing one law which has fed the size of government allowing it to become cumbersome and inefficient.

 

President Trump Rumbling with the Deep State

 

There are rumors, welcome rumors, that President Trump would like to allow for supervisors within the government to be able to give raises on merit while being permitted to cut those whose performance is less than acceptable. Currently, once a Civil Service employee attains permanent status, they become immune to being fired. Another problem in the Federal Government is nepotism. Parents get their children hired onto the government payroll, often in their same department where they are friends and even the supervisor of their newly hired child’s boss which assures they will reach the point after which they become permanent and no longer able to be fired. Needless to point out, when the employees reach permanent status they are no longer required to provide any real service or performance. This leads to the government often needing to hire two, three, four or even more people to produce the work which in the real world, as the non-government employment is referred, would require one efficient and capable worker. This is part of what has led to the rumors and theories as to why the government is so inefficient and bloated with so many workers who accomplish little to nothing, or at least far less than a company outside the government accomplishes with less than half the employees. Trump wants to end the Civil Service immunity to being terminated and return the government to a situation where the workers are held responsible for their own performance. The question will be what to do when you have supervisors protecting lower level supervisors who protect all their employees. There is but one means by which President Trump will ever be capable of reigning in the Deep State, a complete hiring freeze with outside performance reviews deciding which workers are not performing up to a normal expected level. Nothing short of being put on a forced diet can take the bloated monster ensconced in Washington D.C., West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia and across the fruited plains and along the shores and purple mountains majesty and every other nick, cranny and corner of the United States down to something manageable or reasonable facsimile thereof.

 

President Trump has chosen his enemies well and they have decided to take up that role with great zest and enthusiasm, especially the media thus far. Expect the Deep State to work to foil every last piece of the President’s agenda. Between the Democrat Party deciding that they will vote against everything acting as total obstructionists bringing the government to a standstill until they get in power again and the Never-Trump Republicans such as Flake and McCain and company, President Trump may need to wait until after the 2018 midterm elections and hope that he breaks with all traditions and comes away with over sixty Senators who are willing to support his agenda and a majority retained in the House of Representatives. Without this advantage, President Trump will have great difficulty in getting his agenda past the Congress. What will probably frustrate the liberal and leftist media and the Democrats along with the Never-Trump Republicans is that the decision as to whether President Trump manages to get much if not all of his agenda through the Congress and enacted and wins his fight against the Deep State will not fall to any of them but to the American People. The midterm election will be the first step followed by whether or not President Trump is reelected along with the makeup of the Congress and then the final midterm election which would be his final chance.

 

There is one last item which should be discussed briefly and we will try to be succinct. The Democrats have decided some time back that they are the sole people who can be trusted with the power to decide the national agenda. They will do everything within their power to prevent President Trump from accomplishing his agenda. They also are going to fight to attempt on retaining as much of President Obama’s accomplishments as they are able. They will obstruct voting with complete discipline acting as a single negative vote in both houses attempting to utilize the filibuster to end everything from passing the Senate. This is why President Trump will require a sixty vote super majority to get his policies passed through the Senate. The Democrat Party has adopted the policy approach which has been accepted by leftists throughout history very often right before they seize complete power and end elections or only hold show elections assuring they have fixed them such that they appear to have the flavor of fairness but are rigged to allow only Democrat Party rule. The Democrat Party has decided that they will be the only party permitted to decide policy, decide what requires financing, who is permitted to be elected to Congress and the White House, what is considered a fair election, and that they be permitted to go to whatever extent is required such that they retain their majorities and continue to hold the White House. They have reached the end of their rope and are no longer going to play fair. Actually, they have decided they are no longer going to play at all. We wish our American friends of all walks of life luck with holding on to the greatest governance ever devised by man. It has been quite saddening to watch as the great system has faltered and sputtered until it reached this point. We saw its first step when the Democrat and Republican opponents to our run for office both gave paid members of their campaigns to work to prevent us getting any traction which worked as we received 20% against the victor’s 42.2% and the other defeated candidate at 36.9%. What we never understood is how they could spend five million dollars in order to get a job which paid $275,000.00 a year for two years. At least we spent under $35,000.00 so at least had we won we would have shown a profit. But that is where politics has reached in America, spending five million dollars for five hundred fifty thousand in salary, which should make everybody pause as ask what is going on.

Who’s Really to Blame for Government Shutdown?

 

Next time the government, meaning Congress, cannot find some compromise on Immigration and the Budget and the government is shuttered again, who will be to blame? That appears to be one of the big questions in the minds of the media. They have an obvious answer, an objective for making this the pinnacle of political prognostication. They know they have three paltry weeks to turn this entire mess around in the minds of the people. They will have plenty of assistants on social media and across the Internet to repeat the mantra that all government shutdowns throughout history have been the fault of the Republicans. Back in the 1980’s the government shutdowns, and there were more than one, were all the result of Ronald Reagan refusing to sign a very proper and reasonable budget bill. Reagan received so much bad media that he finally caved and it was over budget and immigration where he gave in on amnesty in exchange for border enforcement to be discussed in the new Congress. Somewhere on the way to the next Congress that promise fell through the cracks and enforcement never happened. Then in the 1990’s it was about the budget and Newt Gingrich battled with President Clinton and in the end it was Gingrich, the Republican Speaker of the House who refused to play ball and shut down the government. So this last shutdown was placed on Chuckie Schumer so we have circled from the President to the House and the Senate so reason would say the next shutdown should start the cycle over and be the President, it is only fair, right? Well, that will be the story, it is the Republican refusal to be reasonable and accept that we cannot afford to build Trump’s wall. These shutdowns should be called the Great Wall of Trump shutdowns. That should sell, the Great Wall of Trump shutdowns.

 

The facts do not matter and the reasonable offer by the Republicans to grant the DACA young adults et al a reprieve as has been offered as a way of addressing their individual cases and allowing those who meet certain expectations to stay and those who have criminal records and other problems and do not speak English being deported was not sufficient. The fact that President Trump insists that his wall be at the very least initiated as the prototypes were impenetrable by special forces who were used to test their effectiveness. We know, totally unreasonable as obviously they could always just blow the wall up or tunnel deep and go under them as they are only going down six feet or thereabouts under the ground. Anyway, walls do not work, history has proven that. Just let us go through some of the great walls built from past to a few present day walls and we will see they failed, and more importantly, how they failed. The most famous of all walls, the Great Wall of China, was build to keep the Mongol tribes from invading from the north. The Great Wall kept the border so peaceful that the Chinese society grew exceedingly wealthy from a century plus of no wars. The Chinese people became soft and refused to have their children taken to guard the wall so the Chinese hired Mongols to guard the gates and that also worked for a few more decades until finally one Mongol warlord forced his tribe’s guards to open one of the gates and raiding parties poured in. Other Mongols saw this and the wall failed. The Roman Empire built walls to keep the Germanic tribes from raiding the norther edge of their empire. Eventually, they ran out of slaves and hired Germanic tribesmen to guard their wall and repair the wall. For some reason this led to the wall failing. Romans also built Hadrian’s Wall to keep the Celts out and it remained a working barrier even after they put British tribal members from the south guarding the wall. Rome stopped paying these guards as they retreated from the British Isles finding them too expensive and not worth retaining and the wall failed.

But what about more modern walls? More modern was the Berlin Wall which was torn down after twenty-eight quite effective years being built overnight on August 12, 1961 and fell on November 9, 1989 and thus the wall failed. Even the Israel Terror Wall, sometimes misrepresented as an Apartheid Wall, has made suicide bombing a rarity but it is still extremely porous as walls go. Hundreds upon hundreds, possibly over one thousand, of Palestinians with proper identification each day pass through to go to work and the occasional terrorist does make it past the border wall officers who check identity cards so it has not been perfect. Should Hamas ever take over the Palestinian authority areas the wall will become relatively worthless, as Hamas prefers rockets to having people carry the explosives. Hamas has made the real wall, the Gaza Wall compromised with who knows how many tunnels and they regularly cross the wall simply by firing rockets over it. India and China have a wall on their border as well as India and Pakistan; and in these cases it is the fact that both nations have military guarding these walls that makes them work. The same goes for the DMZ Wall between North and South Korea where workers are permitted to cross and should North Korea ever fire the artillery and rockets they have poised just on their side of the wall, that wall too would prove worthless. So, we have seen that walls work great until they don’t work and then they fail catastrophically often just being torn down, breached or the gateways left open. What a surprise, walls need to be guarded by the people who built them or those with common fears; and if you allow your potential enemies to guard your wall, no matter how much you pay them, they will betray you and your wall will fail, we are simply stunned.

 

There are less than twenty days before the continuing resolution runs out and the government faces another shutdown. It is time to assess who is really to blame? On one side, we have President Trump who is insistent that his wall begin to be financed and built, period. The President is refusing to budge. The Democrats in the Senate are demanding that the DACA illegal immigrants be granted total amnesty, all of them with one blanket amnesty with no restrictions. The Republicans want a system by which these illegal immigrants must meet some minimal qualification which includes speaking English and a clean record of no criminal activity since breaking the law being smuggled into the United States. This would include drug possession and any felonies being disqualifying them from receiving amnesty and each case be reviewed independently. The Democrats also want extended amnesty for all illegals in the country now for a decade until they can be fairly assessed for citizenship. They do not want even those with criminal records or multiple deportations already to be excluded, blanket that all illegals remain in the country completely free from government harassment in any way. The President insists that any illegal found guilty of a felony being deported permanently, no exceptions.

 

And the final sticking point is the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (H.R. 2580), also known as the Hart–Celler Act. This law completely revamped the National Origins Formula for having quotas based on needs and compatibility with American culture which had been in place since the Emergency Quota Act of 1921. Representative Emanuel Celler of New York proposed the bill, Senator Philip Hart of Michigan co-sponsored it, and Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts helped to promote it and thus the quota system was abolished and replaced with a lottery system where people from nations less represented were granted entry. This law has some of what you might call unintended consequences though many believe these were more accurately to be called intended consequences. This might have also been called the future will belong to the Democrat Party as these unassimilated people living off the government will be loyal Democrat voters. This was the program which gave start to the lottery visa program which would bring in immigrants by lottery from largely third world countries and this was how Sayfullo Saipov, a 29-year-old Uzbeki national entered the United States. ‘The Diversity Visa Lottery Program is a Chuck Schumer program resulting from The Immigration Act of 1990. This modified the Hart–Celler Act so as to make the system even more fair balancing the entry into the United States from its former unfair Eurocentric systems. Sayfullo Saipov, a 29-year-old Uzbeki national who entered under these programs would become the Bicycle Terrorist who plowed a rented pickup truck into a crowd of pedestrians and cyclists in lower Manhattan on Oct. 31, 2017. President Trump wants this program killed until it can include a more strict vetting of the applicants as currently vetting is minimal. Chuckie Schumer is fighting for this wonderful idea he promoted and refuses to have someone as ignorant as Donald Trump to alter his hard work.

 

Those are the sticking points over which the war of words is over though the media will spend all their time covering the personal attacks and ignore the actual reasons that the government may again face a shutdown. But is a shutdown really all that horrible? It is if you reside in Washington D.C. area as that is the economy as the government and servicing the government is almost all that area does. That even includes the stores, restaurants and everything else you might imagine even to bowling alleys. The Federal Government employees will collect unemployment while they are otherwise on vacation and when they come back, they will be given a nice large payment to cover the time they were “out of work.” They are not required to return the unemployment so they make out fairly well, all things included. Some miss the overtime they used to get but the unemployment should cover that nicely. The Democrats always threaten to shut down the payment of welfare, food stamps, Social Security and other such but President Trump can order these be paid as they are a function of the Administration and he can claim them as vital interests. Many such payments are actually done by State government employees such as unemployment. Most of our readers are probably too young to remember the heady days when President Willian Jefferson Clinton and Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich were at war over the budget and from December 16, 1995, to January 6, 1996, they shut down the government completely for a total of 27 days. The world actually managed to continue to spin, the United States was not invaded as the military were considered essential personnel, crime waves did not develop as the Federal Agents were also considered essential and the Post Office is a supposedly independent agency and not directly run by government so the mail continued, and the nations did not grind to a halt. Other than the hyperventilating media, the entire three weeks and six days passed and nobody died as a result, not even a single hyperventilating media type, as they are practiced at that art. President Trump should challenge Chuckie Schumer and allow the government to be shuttered for as long as Senator Schumer can take the heat. We would bet that providing President Trump can still Tweet to his little heart’s content (not to imply he had a little heart as he is rumored to be a generous individual) then he will be able to continue and hopefully be persuaded to watch the goings on with an unattached glee and amused viewing port. The media will of course cast such blame predicting the end of the world, as we know it. If he can manage to allow the government to remain shut down with just the essential personnel and all government checks to the citizens continuing on schedule but with over three-quarters of the government on extended vacation, as that will be what it will be in the end, then he can easily make a speech during ‘prime time’ to the American people to apologize for the extended government shutdown and then propose that each department of the government be required to freeze hiring until further notice with the administration setting up a panel which will mediate any hiring needs during the period in order to make limited exceptions if a position is truly essential, which they will advise that the agency usually fill it from within. If President Trump can keep such a freeze in place his entire presidency and be reelected, perhaps government might finally be parsed to a more manageable size. Just a closing crazy idea.

Americans Are the Only Force That Can Stop the Iran Deal

 

When we hear claims that America can stop the Iran deal if Congress would just stand up to President Obama and override his veto as a way of taking back their power we all should realize that such is not about to happen. I am unsure what it is that President Obama holds over the heads of the members of Congress, well, at least the Democrat members of Congress, but whatever it is, he does hold their undivided attention and they snap right into line as he demands. The fear shown is palpable unlike anything I have ever witnessed or anybody else we have spoken with. But it does not matter what President Obama has that holds the members of his party into obedience at his slightest whim because there is a force far more powerful than anything in Washington. This force made Coca-Cola make a complete U-turn and find a way within weeks of reproducing something called Classic Coke because a few people got upset and demanded their old Coca-Cola back. All right, it was more than a few people, it was tens or hundreds of thousands of people, and Coke does not even hold elections other than at the cash register. They could have said we changed and we are headed in a new direction and tried to leave the people no choice confident they would just get used to the new Coke.

So, there are a number of Americans who are about as thrilled with the Iran mistake from on a Swiss Lake (the talks were held in Lausanne in Switzerland which sits on Lake Geneva), better known as the worst deal in treaty history and it is a treaty which is another whole issue in itself. We know that any Republican President attempting to pull off such a bag of lies would never get away with claiming that it was an Executive Agreement as if the United States government was a business and the President of Company America did not necessarily need to put every agreement to a vote of the Board of Directors, Congress in this case. And if a Republican President attempted to take a treaty to the Security Council before Congress, the Senate in particular, there would be impeachment proceedings and the Ambassador to the United Nations would be demanded to veto the item before fifteen minutes had passed. Congress can function when its fat is on the fire and some things done by the wrong party get the media, and thus the people, all steamed up over the most minor of ‘infractions’ and that ain’t all Jack. We know that the media has split on this Iran deal into three camps. The first camp has about a hair less than twenty percent who are writing daily about how horrific this Iran nuclear deal is and how it will allow Iran to produce nuclear weapons by the dozen within a year or two and the inspections to prevent such are ineffective and ridiculous, and that’s the good side of the deal.

 

There is also the billions and billions (as Carl Sagan was famous for saying) and billions of dollars which will be used to amplify terrorists world-wide throughout the Iranian proxy infiltrating military wing foreign legions division of the IRGC. This includes such terror groups as Hezballah who are in control of Lebanon for the most part, assisting in the war for keeping Bashir al-Assad in power in Syria as well as aiding the Shia in Iraq to murder the Sunni in Iraq and even put some teams in Yemen assisting the Houthis in their assault to take over the entire country and control the Red Sea Straits of Bab-al-Mandeb. There are also a number of Hezballah and IRGC units which run terrorist training facilities at the tri-border area where Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil borders meet and each claims the other two are responsible, keeping all happy including the terrorists and other criminal elements which all also run their Americas operations which includes, you guessed it, the United States which they infiltrate through the Mexican border, but you already know about that as it has been the one thing from the Republican Primaries for the Presidency the media had deigned to cover as they cover all Trump all the time. Every republican Presidential Primary update begins, end and all but solely spotlights Trump. But that is for some other rant; we want to rant on the Iran deal and the apparent response from the Congress to take it lying down. Well, at least thirty-six, and probably closer to thirty-nine Senators folding like a cheap suit before the President’s pressure.

 

The next set of the media, somewhere around fifty-five percent or so are all gung ho about covering every single one of the shootings and demanding more gun control. And they are also praising President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry for their unbelievable deftness and ability to make the most incredible and wondrous deal which will prevent Iran from enriching Uranium past anything beyond five percent. They will not be able to enrich it anywhere near the levels necessary for making nuclear weapons and everything. Plus their efforts that will bring Iran back into the community of nations gaining them the mantle of civilized behavior which they will now have to live up to due to all the expectations of the rest of the nations of the world. That was breathtakingly brilliant which will further so much more because this deal will have a taming effect bringing Iran to become peace loving and accepting of the same limitations as other nations. They will no longer desire to spread Shia Islam to the entirety of the world by whatever means necessary or to destroy Israel or the United States. They will still chant “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” but they’re only joking and don’t really mean anything by that.

 

The remainder of the media are saying very little if anything about the Iran deal as why get people all riled up over such trivial items when there are so many more interesting things to get all worked up over. There is the who is being seen with whom and what this must be doing to their flame from last week not to mention the outfit she wore, oh my heart be still, it was like hideous. And that new hairstyle, what was she thinking. And then the divorce has him so overly wrought he even has been so impossible on the set and just not taking it well. The gossip and tabloid media have even covered the Iran deal as it means that the price of pistachios will become more reasonable once the Iranian crop hits the market shelves, and talking about Pistachios….

 

The media has failed the American people, who have the great sense to, by a respectable majority, come out against the Iran nuclear deal. Their elected President has shown repeatedly since his initial election that he cares very little for what they believe, hold sacred or almost anything else. He had shown complete disdain and insensitivity and spent more time tearing the nation apart through any difference possible, race, gender, charges of police use of overt and unnecessary force, criminal charges before actually knowing all the facts and whatever else could be used to turn people against each other. There were the complete incompetence and ignoring of the law throughout the Administration with such gems as Fast and Furious running guns across the border and then losing thousands of automatic weapons delivered to the cartels as just one prime example. Then there appeared to be a real propensity with e-mail difficulties. A problem servicing veterans in the VA Hospitals was kept hidden by using two sets of records, one for performance review and another for actual appointments. The IRS somehow had the idea that any organization with such words as patriot, liberty, tea party or other pro-gun, libertarian, or conservative labels in their names had their reviews for tax exempt placed on the impossible train where all sorts of additional questions and forms before they were approved or disapproved or placed to be reviewed for their tax filings and all of these additional burdensome and timely disturbances such that as many as possible were facing these difficulties which crippled their operation during the six months leading to the 2012 elections cycle. There were also other suspicious troubles and additionally Benghazi. All of this and there still has not been a single special prosecutor appointed to look into anything, go figure.

 

Future of the Middle East from Legacy at Any Cost to the JCPOA to Nuclear Iran Followed by Nuclear Everyone Eventually Leading to Nobody Left at All

 

 

But now we all have reached what we hope will end up being the pièce de résistance with the Iranian Nuclear Treaty that’s not really a treaty but an agreement sort of executive agreement type not quite a treaty so we can blast through Congress requiring merely one third plus one instead of two thirds plus one as a treaty requires. That is why the magic number has been thirty-four instead of the sixty-seven a treaty would have required. So it was Senator Barbara Mikulski of Maryland, who has her reasoning listed on her web site which can be read here, who was the thirty-fourth senator to support Obama and put him over the top. Enjoy, I didn’t. So, the challenge facing those in the world, and I am assuring you that includes people in more nations than Israel alone, as President Obama is fond of telling people, as Saudi Arabia and Egypt for two who have the same reservations as does Israel, talking about strange bedfellows. Unfortunately for those of us outside the United States there is not a whole lot we can do to change the situation and we are all going to have to count on the people in the United States who, like us, are worried about the whole Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or the JCPOA as it has become known in the media. To put this in perspective, the JCPOA will probably prove a larger disaster than Benghazi as Benghazi, and the entire Arab Spring, murdered countable numbers where a nuclear armed Middle East and nuclear weapons spreading even further will eventually leave countless numbers of dead. The only power which can prevent the United States from gifting Iran with the over one hundred billion dollars of unfrozen assets is the average American, and we will all look to those Americans who might actually stand against this deal as honest brave heroes to whom we will owe our admirations. What the Americans need to do is set a date before the vote tentatively scheduled for September 17th which is a Thursday, so perhaps for convenience Sunday September 13th or perhaps Sunday September 6th to allow more time and hold the biggest across the country demonstration in every major city all at the same time such that every demonstration are simultaneous. The one thing which has to be assured is that these demonstrations are massive with the totals in the tens of millions if not even higher because otherwise President Obama will use any city having a paltry or anemic showing to prove that he was representing the true desires of the American public. This could be a difficulty as many major cities probably generally support the President without any concern for the actual issue while those opposed might need to travel to any demonstration; but that might be the cost of preventing a bad treaty resulting in a nuclear armed Iran leading to a generally nuclear armed Middle East which can only end badly.
