Paris Conference in Paris and Inevitable Challenges

Tomorrow, Sunday January 15, 2017, will be a date that will start the cause of infamy when seventy nations convene in Paris, France to craft the future war in the Middle East. The organizers of this confab have already met with Mahmoud Abbas and his terrorist supporters and carefully created the closest they dare go in granting the Arab Palestinian Authority their wildest desires, the end of Israel. They will give the Arab world the one item they have hoped for ever since they fought the June 5 – 10, 1967, Six Day War; a redo from the original borders. The seventy nations will include the United States which will be represented by President Short Term Barack Obama’s puppet and lackey, Secretary of State Kerry who was instrumental in meeting with Abbas in Nablus to craft the finalization of the formation of a new Arab nation named Palestine cut from the legal borders of Israel as per more treaties than we care to list again, the League of Nations, the Mandate System and Article 80 of the UN Charter which binds the world to that very Mandate System which set the eastern Israeli border as the Jordan River. Also included among the nations and others joining the United States and France will be European Union Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini, a representative of the United Nations, many Foreign Ministers from European nations, a number of the Sunni Arab nations high representatives, advisors from numerous anti-Israeli NGO’s for a reasoned flavor of authenticity and fairness and various other national representatives to round out the merry band of vigilante diplomacy. The truth be told, this is an internationally prearranged lynching where under the direction of France, the United States President and his State Department, the European Union, selected leftist pro-Palestinian Arab nations and the usual anti-Israel third world nations being brought together to give the feel of an authentic and reasoned conference which has the backing of the world and thus is really dispensing justice. Israel has denounced this conference knowing that the final decision has already been set in cement and left to dry.

Protesters in support of Palestinians in Gaza last weekend displayed a swastika at a Paris rally. The demonstration had been banned by the government and prompted deployment of police.

There is little left to chance and the only item which will be decided at the conference is how long they will appear to debate and deliberate before all but unanimously approving the pre-prepared proposition for an “equitable” resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, the misnamed Palestinian-Israeli conflict as the Palestinian Arabs are simply the bludgeon with which the Arab world had attempted for years to beat Israel into submission and return them to the pre-June 1967 borders, press Israel back within the 1949 Armistice Line also referred to as the Green Line. After the ill-fated October 6–25, 1973, Yom Kippur War where the Arab allies of Egypt and Syria believed they would be able to defeat Israel if they caught them completely unprepared for an attack. Their plan worked as they caught Israel literally deep in prayers and unaware and unable to recall their military as the soldiers were in Synagogue and all transportation and communications were all either closed or in holiday mode. Eventually the Israelis cobbled together their units and survived. What was learned that month was had Israel not still held the Sinai Peninsula and Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and should there have been additional forces attacking from Judea and Samaria backed by other Arab nations with Israel within the pre-June 1967 borders, the Arabs would have had a very good chance of being in Tel Aviv under similar conditions of surprise. The first and most vital need for an Arab victory and the erasure of Israel is to force Israel back behind the Green Line. The next requirement is for a heavily armed and ready force within Judea and Samaria. With such in place the Arab assault to eradicate Israel would be assured. Such an assault would be initiated with rockets fired from the Judean Hills overlooking central Israel. These rockets would initially be a few the first week and a slow ramping with accuracy guaranteed by having direct visual ranging from the Judean cliffs and the world cautioning Israel to remember the peace agreement and not to react harshly. Israel would be condemned as foolish for any concerns and would be told that the government of “Palestine” was not behind the attacks and was doing everything possible to apprehend those responsible and were very concerned that Israel might react foolishly and hold them responsible for these horrific attacks. The United Nations would call emergency meetings which would issue warning after warning to Israel not to take matters into its own hands as doing so would break the Israeli obligation from the Paris accords which were confirmed and formed the core of the UNSC Chapter Seven Resolution establishing the independent state of Palestine. The shrillness of the warnings coming from the UN, the EU and even from the United States should somebody of a similar viewpoint as President Obama be elected, an eventuality which will come to pass, and various NGO’s, Human Rights Organizations and possibly through decisions from the World Courts all condemning Israel even before she has taken any defensive actions. The one item that must be recalled is that Israel is not permitted to defend herself, Israel if defending herself may not prove victorious, at the first signs of an Israeli victory the fighting must be terminated and the original borders reestablished no matter how long it takes (as is becoming all too evident currently) and finally when Israel is proving victorious then it becomes the vital mission of much of the world to threaten Israel with annihilation if they do not cease winning and return to their borders immediately.

So let us get back to Paris and the conference of the damning. The prearranged findings will call for the establishment of the Arab state of Palestine with the borders that the world realizes is the only proper and inevitable borders, the Green Line and the Jordan River. The call will be for an unarmed Palestine with only a security force having weapons necessary for dealing with crime and for preventing any encroachment or invasions by Israel. As time passes the amount of weaponry required for the security of Palestine will include armor, artillery, rockets and an air force. They would also call for their having a navy with aircraft carriers except the Dead Sea and Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) are just too small to require any naval forces, but a small coast guard might be authorized to patrol the Jordan River as well as these other waterways. Simply stated, within a decade, two at the most, the Arab state of Palestine will be better armed than Jordan, something which will rightfully make the King of Jordan very nervous as he recalls the Black September revolt where the PLO attempted to overthrow the Jordanian government. Meanwhile, Israel will be in mortal danger and likely once again without a friend in the world. Much like the position Israel finds herself in until January 20, 2017 at noon Eastern Standard Time when President Obama gives way to President Trump.

The one saving hope from a world gone mad is that the Paris ambushing of Israel takes longer than five days and the protection of a United States veto returns to the Security Council. Should the protagonists in France complete their dirty work before the morning of January 20, 2017, then there is a possibility of the UNSC officially recognizing Arab Palestine with the Green Line as its western border and forcing close to a million Israelis to become refugees instantly and needing to be rescued by the IDF and escorted to safety. The one item that would be considered fighting words is if the Paris ensemble tries to take any part of Jerusalem from Israeli control. Israel has officially annexed all of Jerusalem and granted its Arab citizens Israeli identification papers, medical coverage and permitted them voting rights in local elections with the possibility for full voting rights once they complete certain requirements to qualify as full citizens. Israelis have accepted that Jerusalem is an integral part of Israel and our reclaiming of our eternal Capital City and that is the one thing which will never change. This is something which must be made clear as well as making the Israeli position on the main cities and residential blocks which must remain part of Israel as even under the Oslo Accords Area C was to remain with Israel.

Despite it becoming clear that the entirety of the Oslo Accords was a ruse, a grand deception designed to allow for the slow and eventual erosion of the right of Israel to even exist within any borders. That eventuality has yet to materialize but not for lack of efforts. The BDS, boycott, divestment and sanction, movement developing from the Arab boycott of Israel and their Khartoum Resolution with the three No’s; no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with Israel, and spreading throughout the world and gaining traction numerous college campuses in the Western World, the isolation of Israel was looking to make inroads. Within the past year the BDS has seen setbacks as governments in numerous cities and states in the United States and elsewhere, it required a boost which came almost as if scripted by some unseen director with the recent UNSC Chapter Six Advisory Resolution 2334 which declared that Israel had no legal claims to Area C thus voiding UNSC Res. 242 and the Oslo Accords setting an entirely new perception to the eventual resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict. President Obama through the backdoor arrangement of UNSC Res. 2334 wording and particular specification delineating the abrogation of all Israeli rights presumably on the international stage, the world has set up a situation where another war is all but guaranteed in the Middle East unsettling any semblance of balance and leeway for actual negotiations to take place. The next step, should this procedural intention play out fully, would be to demand that Israel surrender every inch of lands they gained during their defensive efforts in the Six Day War. The world is treading on thin ice and teetering on the edge of falling through and unless in Paris a miracle occurs and the world decides to step away from the insanity and frantic attempts by President Obama to force a resolution which will only set up a situation with no good solution just to pretend he deserved that Nobel Peace Prize. It is borderline insanity to potentially force a predicament which could result in a dangerous faceoff between the United Nations Security Council, Israel and the viability and enforcement of President Obama taking a final shot in his vendetta against the Jewish State which it appears his aim had been its destruction from day one. That is the only way his frantic end of term insanity forcing solutions where none exist as well as his guaranteeing that Iran will become a nuclear armed nations with as many if not more nuclear weapons than all but the big three, United States, Russia and China, and possibly Iran will make that the big four and the world will live on borrowed time thereafter. Oh what has the world wrought and how can that tension be released peaceably? Perhaps it cannot and the result will become the real legacy for President Obama. Too bad so few might survive that legacy should it really turn for the worst. But then again, transforming the United States, specifically its relationship with the Jewish State, with Israel, has been the aim all along and was likely the most prominent piece of America Barack Hussein Obama had intended to mortally wound from the very start. He sure went after this first, last and consistently the hardest.

White House Complaints Echo Aid Difficulty

What is wrong with the thirty-eight-billion or so dollar aid deal Israel had all but forced upon it without permitting any input from Congress and placing all power over how Israel aid can be allocated within the White House? Now it has become a potential weapon as the White House will react in predictable manner whenever Israel does not mind its actions and check with the White House and get approval before acting in any manner. This was made clear when the White House erupted when Israel announced plans to finalize the construction of housing, mostly apartment buildings, beyond the Green Line which was approved well over eighteen months ago. Israeli building methods force construction, especially any beyond the Green Line, to go through numerous steps with their being announced each step of the way. This has led to the White House under President Obama to throw conniption fits at each juncture as if they had no idea that the announcement was coming. This is complete nonsense and has become so predictive that it is bordering on nauseating here in Israel. Many in Israel are siding with Ron Paul in calling for aid from the United States to be pulled and negotiated on each weapon package as is done with other nations rather than continue to have this Sword of Damocles hanging endlessly over Jerusalem’s head. That is another problem, the White House would insist they are not holding anything over Jerusalem as they hold things over Tel Aviv and would never ever hold things over Jerusalem as they are fighting alongside the Arab Palestinians in their drive to replace Israel with an Arab binational state where the Jews were to be driven out or to be slaughtered if they refused to depart.

The United States seems to continually have faults with their memory as the military aid package they provide Israel did not come into being until after 1967 and the Six Day War which got the attention of Lyndon Baines Johnson. Unbelievably, before that United States aid to Israel had been nonexistent. The final straw, as we have discussed repeatedly, was the Israeli plans on building a fourth generation fighter jet called the Lavi. This would have been in direct competition on the world arms market with the F-16 and possibly the F-15 in some markets as the price would have been lower and the purchasing nation would have had the potential to include some of their own avionics which could have made the Lavi even more attractive. Instead of compete, the United States gave Israel an offer she could not refuse of F-16s to replace the Lavi Fighter Jets Israel was in the final stages of development and F-15s as icing on the cake. Further, the United States promised the Israelis unfettered and unchallenged air superiority in the Middle East through American air power being sold to Israel first and usually exclusively. That promise has, like all such guarantees through history, cooled until the United States now guarantees to use their promise now as a way of controlling Israel through threatening their ability to have air equality, let alone air superiority. So, perhaps the time has come to make our own way here in Israel and develop our own fifth generation fighter jet in-house. We could start with the Lavi frame as Israel does not need an aircraft with the ranges and specific and broad capabilities of such as the F-35 JSF.

Israel should proceed to produce their own fifth generation jet fighter in exchange for revoking all aid agreements with the United States and promising to refuse any and all aid even should Congress override a Presidential Veto to provide military aid to Israel in exchange for United States guarantees to continue with any other support in other areas and even joint development programs even in avionics and aviation projects. Further, aid from Congress approved by Presidential signature or by Congressional override of a Presidential veto with a moratorium of three years on military aid allows Israel not to be held to return aid received over the past four years. There should not be a full divorce between the two allies but a legal separation with shared custody in mutually beneficial programs and development. There are many programs where Israeli expertise has improved or even led the way for United States programs such as drones and anti-missile systems. The relationship between Israel and the United States needs an adjustment and that was the most telling and potentially productive result of the eight years of President Obama’s Administration. Such a change in the current relationship would free the United States from the suspicions that they are attached to Israel at the hip rather than merely allies often of convenience. Such a new relationship could prove to be as lasting and deep as the current relationship but without the abrasiveness of any feelings of imposition or reliance by one side or the other. Such a clearing of the air could only be healthier for both nations and in the end lead to a better understanding and relations.

Many people from both Israel and the United States claim that Israel could not long survive without the unwavering support of the United States. When it comes to the United States guarding against one-sided resolutions in the Security Council, the support of the United States is invaluable, especially concerning any Chapter Seven enforceable resolutions. Israel could likely survive lesser resolutions which do not force sanctions or permit enforcement through military force. It is not like Israel is not already facing drives in all areas and continual assaults through the United Nations General Assembly where the Arab, Muslim, and allied nations hold an undeniable majority and animosities from numerous nations and countless NGO’s worldwide. Israel would not expect support from the United States in the Security Council any more serious or of any deeper quality than any other ally of the United States such as Germany or other NATO nation. Perhaps Israel could finally apply and be granted membership in that organization providing sufficient pressure could be exerted on Turkey who had vetoed every attempt by Israel to join NATO.

There would also be one last benefit from such a separation, the United States would be freed from being the go to nation when the world demands Israel be pressured. Israel would not fear the potential loss at a crucial point of military backing and thus be vulnerable to United States pressure; some might say blackmail, simply for building apartments in Jerusalem.

What many around the world, and apparently in the State Department, do not understand or even have the slightest clue is that the Arab Palestinian Authority officially still claims that all of Israel belongs to them and that the Jews have no history or claim to any Islamic lands anywhere in the Middle East and that the Jews all are from and need to, as a famous reporter once put it, “return to where they came, Germany, Britain, United States or Alaska or whatever nation they came from.” What is less well known is that around half of Israelis are descendants of Jews from the Middle East or North Africa with quite a number who can trace their families back over two-thousand-years right here within Israel with some having resided in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) until 1949 when Jordan ethnically cleansed the area after they illegally occupied the area for the next seventeen years and many of whom have yet been permitted to return to their homes as the Arab Palestinians have autonomy over some of the areas within Judea and Samaria. That is correct, there are areas where the vast majority of Arab Palestinians reside where Jews are forbidden from living and if the world had its way then Israelis would be forbidden from residing in much of the lands which were all part of Israel at the dawn of the nation on May 15, 1948 immediately before over six Arab nations invaded with the intent of genocidal cleansing of the Jews and any Arab who refused to fight with them against the Jews of Israel who the Arab world believed from the very beginning must be murdered so the lands could return to the service of Allah. Apparently Jews are not allowed to reside on lands belonging to Allah while the world apparently demands that Arab Muslims be welcomed everywhere in the Christian and Jewish worlds, interesting. A little aside we may discuss another time, Allah and Hashem are not identical or even near the same.

A map of Israel should any of the nations of the world actually be honest and truly be seeking peace which can only be attained should Israel have the most defensive borders imaginable.

A map of Israel should any of the nations of the world actually be honest
and truly be seeking peace which can only be attained should Israel
have the most defensive borders imaginable.

Perhaps it would be best to simply state that there may be benefits to both Israel and the United States if Israel was returned to being responsible for their own air superiority instead of having to hold the United States to their promise of the late 1960s. The one thing which should be learned from President Obama is that any United States President can redraw the American relations such that any promise is nullified and knowing that it would be irresponsible for Israel to continue to rely solely on the United States for her air superiority and thus her safety. Since the F-35 JSF will likely not be combat capable until 2020 to 2025 thus Israel would likely be capable of producing a fifth generation fighter jet within Israel before that date or soon thereafter. That is the reality Israel needs to measure the future as at some point she will be required to produce her own aircraft as the only peoples to remain near the top of their creative abilities for century after century through the millennia has been the Jewish people, so perhaps that should be the wellspring from which we depend. Nothing against our friends but perhaps the day may come when we will be the ones helping you just as you have assisted us. It will be our pleasure as we are to be a light unto all nations, especially all nations who remain our friends.

Generally the Generals Create Great Problems

In a recent article titled Israel’s demographic suicide? by the ever readable and insightful Caroline B. Glick we were given views of a recent meeting between the new Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman and the General Staff of the IDF. From what we understood, Minister Lieberman came into the meeting with a rightful, honest and workable solution to numerous problems mostly caused by the presence of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and its insidious effects over too large an area and over too many institutions all of which they brought to holy jihad against Jews and Israel. During the meeting and facing an allied and unified front or Perfumed Princes, generals as known to the public, he was convinced that the best approach to the coming elections this fall in the local elections throughout the PA where Hamas is expected to take control over many, if not a predominant number, of the local government thus preventing and PA security forces from presumably fighting terrorist enterprise would be best averted by peremptorily ceding complete planning and zoning authority in Area C to the PA. Our position is the surrendering Area C will fail in every conceivable way possible. But the Perfumed Princes appear to have converted Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman to their side of the argument where the military basically gifts the PA with complete control over the lands in Area C which will lead to the removal of all IDF forces replacing them with PA Security Forces and the settlements will immediately become untenable and the hundreds of thousands of Jews and other Israelis residing in these cities, towns and frontier settlements will be forced to retreat behind the Green Line and holding any claim on East Jerusalem will become all but untenable. Basically, the Perfumed Princes idea is to repeat Gaza except this time with the entirety of Judea and Samaria as well as East Jerusalem including the Temple Mount and the entirety of the Old City to the PA who once the IDF and other Israeli assets have retreated will lose all the lands to Hamas who are far more motivated than the PA forces, many of which are more loyal to Hamas and Islamic Jihad as well as the Islamic State than they are to Mahmoud Abbas, Fatah and the PA. Such a plan worked so wondrously in Gaza that the Perfumed Princes believe that doubling down with the safety of Tel Aviv is the best course of action. The best course of action is and has always been the settlement of all the lands given by Hashem and to above our greatest joy to place Yerushalayim, the city conquered by David and beautified by Solomon which includes Tower of David in Yerushalayim.

Tower of David in Yerushalayim

Tower of David in Yerushalayim

The news of this reached us soon after we had responded to a challenge to put forth a plan which would benefit Israel in dealing with the PA which we presented in our article As Long as They All Hate where we presented basically the opposite of the plan presented by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) and assorted other IDF commanders. Their basic premise is that should Israel respond to the threat, that Hamas will win numerous townships and potentially even Ramallah, which would be the ultimate loss for the PA and be the end of Mahmoud Abbas as their leader; that by turning over the remainder of Judea and Samaria and deserting any responsibility for those residing already in Area to PA rule, whatever that may mean after the fall elections, and this will prevent Hamas from winning local elections across the currently PA controlled areas. Sure, surrendering all control over what Jordan renamed the West Bank and is actually a good part of Judea and Samaria simply because of a threat that Hamas might take control of areas now held by the PA will invigorate the PA and not have any similar effect on the Hamas leadership which is obviously what scared the IDF COGAT commanders. Are we the only ones who see a grievous error in their logic? If anything, such a move should guarantee Hamas taking control with even less opposition of Judea and Samaria and raining rockets supplied by Iran through Jordan, even if Iran must eliminate Jordanian King Hussein and the entirety of the Jordanian military, assuming they do not simply change sides in the interest of continued breathing and potentially positions in the coming Iranian puppet state.

The Perfumed Princes could not have presented a more backwards and illogical plan had that been their intent. The actual problem is that these Generals are tired of actually performing their duty and they realize that their power does not stem from protecting Jews and Israelis in Judea and Samaria but in deadly threats making the continuation of the state of Israel dependent on them. The real problem is actually the same problem as Israel faces in their legal society where judgeships above the lowest level is controlled either directly or indirectly, the higher the court the more directly, by the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the head of the Lawyers’ Guild and a small and overwhelmed few members of the elected governance, that being the Knesset. Such a panel is so far left as it could only be equaled by the average garden party held by the effete elite of Tel Aviv and the COGAT Command and most other commands outside of combat arms are also Perfumed Princes for similar reasons. These leftist control the levers of choosing their replacements and refuse to permit any Zionist, and especially religious Zionist, to ever enter their ranks even if it requires setting up high ranking Zionist religious officers for a situation where proper actions can bring charges of undue force and doing nothing brings charges of dereliction of Duty. Thus the High Command of the IDF, the Supreme Court, the justice system, the ranking legal and other administrative commanders are all Tel Aviv leftist anti-Zionists who are determined to make Israel a binational state where Jews become a minority as the leftist socialist anti-nationalist post-Zionists are haters of Judaism and Judeo-Christian morality and are willing to make Israel into an Islamist run nation in the belief that they can take control of such a governance and forge their communist wonderland free of nationalism and religious influences. Simply stated, these lunatics are willing to destroy Israel, hand it to the Muslims, all in an attempt to forge their socialist dreams and they do not figure in their formulae that they will be amongst the first ones beheaded under any Islamist governance. This disease exists through much of Europe and is taking hold in the United States where President Barack Obama was the initial introductory Presidency and Hillary Clinton will be the final step should she be elected, but the Americans are as blind in many leftist circles as are these Israeli leftist socialist communists.

Israel has one viable future which cannot and will never be realized as long as we suffer these fools who hate Zionism and hate Judaism and are willing to bow before Ba’al and sacrifice everybody else’s first born son if that is what it takes to destroy the Jewishness and Zionist enterprises within Israel. They, like their Western counterparts, hate Judeo-Christian ethics and nationalism to such an extent that they are willing to blindly accept anything which is also against such viable and moral leadership. They are incapable of seeing past their red hot hatred of Judaism and Zionism that sacrificing all of Israel to the observers of Allah and betraying Hashem and all that comes from his love and rules for a moral and good life where all are cared for by the deeds of others. They do not see that charity is amongst the central pillars of Judaism and believe that nobody would sacrifice a single shekel of their monies to help the needy and only through the force of government can the poor be cared for. They believe this as they are wanting to ever ‘waste’ a Shekel of their monies willingly and believe all are as dead hearted as they. They judge others by their own selfishness and are blind to the generosity of others whom they hold in contempt quite likely because they do see these others are better persons than they and thus must be destroyed to make a perfect government controlled system which does not depend on the generosity of others but on the power of the all-powerful state.

Further, these Generals, Perfumed Princes, realize that by surrendering Area C they will no longer be the ones to blame should there come terrorism from these areas as they will no longer govern them. They tire of governing Area C and protecting those Jews, who are mostly religious, Zionist or both as these are the very Jews and Israelis they hold in contempt. They would rather allow the Arab Muslims behead and murder every last Israeli and Jew currently under their mandate for protection. They have already performed so well at this protection that the two items which have kept these Israelis safe have been the outstanding performance of the troops charged with such protection who take their positions of protecting the innocent seriously, and the security forces each community has appointed or empowered volunteers who manage the security including electronic surveillance and boots on the ground day and night throughout the week and even on the Sabbath as life is precious in Judaism and every life is worth saving and assisting such that it can live. Many of these elitists have completely lost track of these basic terms and instead think only of the power of the state and not the empowerment of the individual. These leaders require a complete house cleaning and replacing with those in whom the safety and future of Israel and the Jews can be trusted with complete faith that they will take such charge seriously.

The one obvious failure are the General Staff and their complete infiltration or possibly permanent ability to replace their retiring officers solely with the officers from the legal division or from amongst their own known circle, the tea, brie and fondue party gang as we like to call them. The time has come to change a few things even beyond the heads at the top. The first thing is the legal busy beavers should be required to spend their initial training and a one year service in an infantry company. This should be their being farmed out randomly amongst infantry companies as privates such that they understand the life of the rank and file soldier. They should also be charged with achieving a certain rank before being commissioned as a lawyer and officer in the IDF and those unable to cope with such service should be barred from the legal divisions. The IDF deserves officers who will be making life and death decisions to fully understand the position and dangers the average soldier faces to achieve the position where they may be deciding whether they get to take the shot or stand down. Currently the order to stand down is the failsafe and preferred command decision unless every last requirement has been verified, checked, rechecked and further checked to see if the position has held its ground and still has the shot available after fifteen-twenty minutes of lunacy by command before allowing the infantry or other assets to take the shot.

Perhaps we need a basic and simple pair of examples of situations which will clarify. Let us assume one is a fighter pilot carrying ordinance, bombs for the less aware of the language, and he is approaching the target and he does not see any civilians blocking his approach and now requires clearance from the legal beagles before he can release his ordinance. Now the lawyers order a second aircraft, a reconnaissance drone or piloted aircraft to fly to the locations which can take up to five or ten minutes while the pilot with the ordinance has been circling his target in danger of being shot upon. During this time the target inside the building has left, taken shelter in a special area of the basement or possibly called for women and children to be brought to the rooftop knowing that a single civilian is a sufficient screen which will prevent most bombings from being executed and any doubt results in the initial pilot landing with ordinance still attached, an unadvised and very dangerous task as the shock of landing can activate the ordinance and with another simple bump detonate the ordinance if it was set for immediate blast after drop. Even if the target of the bomb was the third floor of a seven story building where the ordinance is set to punch through the five levels which would mean that the ordinance would count from the rooftop as the first punch placing it in the seventh floor, then another to the sixth and another to the fifth and another to the fourth and another to the third with a tenth of a second delay and detonation sufficient to kill all on the third floor or just those in a central room and still leave the building though structurally compromised, remaining standing. Even such ordinance is thought to take out the roof by the lawyers making the drop/no drop decision. The bombs today are so completely different than in previous wars fought that many people are unfamiliar or completely ignorant of the special situational conditions for which rounds can be optimized.

IDF Crest Insignia

An even more dire and dangerous situation would present itself when a sniper has spent two or three days sneaking into his optimum firing position and has the subject in his sights and now he waits for his number two to give him the signal to fire. All parameters are met but what if he gets an officer who insists on covering his position and orders a drone to reconnoiter the area before approving the shoot. This might lead the target to take cover or they could depart or return inside taking away the opportunity while waiting for approval. Many times a sniper is not within secured areas and is operating within enemy controlled territories and even making radio contact can create a dangerous situation for the sniper and his spotter. Many of the officers whose approval is required before taking a shot have never actually qualified with a weapon or if they have it was with a sidearm and not the variety of weapons used by most combat infantry or sniper or other combat individuals. This situation is rather dangerous for the troops and other individuals who must attain clearance before executing their final command to engage. In any situation an order to refrain from engagement makes the position more dangerous and even could lead to capture or death. These are things these soldiers, and they are presumed to be soldiers and not lawyers, have most often never been familiarized with and thus are making their decision considering a perfect scenario with a perfect and clean target and almost no situation in combat or flying support missions ever present a clean target and the wait time might even make a clean target unfit for execution as the situation changed while awaiting approvals. This is why the main part of any decision to engage needs to be left to the troops in the field or aircraft and the IDF depend on their morality and training, two things Israeli men and women in uniform are not just amongst the best but are the standard which other armed services in the Western developed world know they could not match the IDF and its morality in combat and others agree in even stronger language.

The conclusion we draw is obvious, Israel requires some basic appointment channels to be altered. We will not go into how the actual civilian legal divisions, the courts, particularly the Supreme Court and Attorney General, are chosen and concentrate on the command positions at the top of the IDF. The very first item is the appointment of IDF commanders must not be subjected to trial by newspapers, television and radio news, political talk shows or even approval by the Supreme Court. Appointment of the commander of the IDF must be made in order to choose the man most capable of commanding the defense and other military services as demanded by or commanded by the civilian government. They must be capable of performing the necessary oversight and give the orders which will complete any mission the IDF will be assigned and do so with a minimal loss of life for both the IDF and innocent civilians as understood to be defined by international law. The commander must be somebody the troops will respect and look up to. The IDF Commanding General does not need be acceptable to the Supreme Court, the tea and brie bridge club from Tel Aviv or other members of the moneyed elite, and the upper class who hold monetary aloof positions on all the correct social lists and definitely not be made to suffer the approval of Haaretz or other news outlet. They are a combat leader and being polite is not a required job performance though it would be a nice addition after they are chosen for their military command knowledge. The supporting General Staff need be chosen in like manner and should be fully capable of commanding a war for the national survival of the Israeli state with thirty seconds warning before launching troops ready and standing on alert. They need know the call-up procedures and who is the person to set that in motion as well as their subsequent commander and have the remaining list of the rest of that command at ready and known position for quick reference. The entirety of command should be stripped down and chosen solely for their love of country and ability to move into combat at a moment’s notice. There are no requirements for garden parties and the other frills such as performance at charity balls or other social ills. Such commanders should be religious, Zionist or both with the Zionism being a main requirement as they are best suited for trust to be centered within and being religious grants one deeper insight to the solutions required though one still performs their duty at the behest and under the set goals and limitations directed by the civilian governance. Such generals need understand that any command received is meant to be executed immediately if not sooner unless directed otherwise. This will necessitate a reassessment of the current General Staff and their replacement, as it has been found that those currently serving are lacking in any manner of intestinal fortitude or desire to serve the nation of Israel and its founding Zionist spirit. As goes the General Staff goes the military. If the commanders are soft and indecisive or lack in love of country, then the troops will reflect the same. This is why the General Staff need be religious and Zionist with love of Torah, love of Hashem, love of Israel, and lastly most obedient of the commands to settle the lands that Hashem has gifted to us to care for as these are the lands of Hashem. This need be the central reason for the IDF which is included in the motto, “Honor, Torah, Israel, People, Zion and Yerushalayim.”
