Some Cataclysm This Way Comes

The feelings always come before the dark clouds and the increasing wind where the storm is filled with steel rain and exploding hail. How far in advance we can never say, but the storm is a brewing. The question is, are you sensitive or equipped emotionally and spiritually to recognize the problem. To figure this out, there are other items about ourselves we need to understand, and the question is how we can reach this understanding. Is there such a thing as evil? Can a person be evil? Can a group of people be evil as in a tribe or club or gathering? Can a society be evil? Can a religious group be evil? Can the entire world be turning towards evil? You have probably noticed that the recognition of what makes something evil is required to see coming disasters, and that is basic. Evil is fairly recognizable when witnessing an act or judging one from the past, especially when the evil is overt. Jeffrey Dahmer opening his freezer and pulling out dinner reveals obvious evil. But Hitler offering the German people jobs, the right to be proud of the Fatherland, rebuild their military as in Europe a military meant safety, return them to having the basic rights of pleasure every human being deserved, freedom from false civil moralities, freedom from the conscience (that annoying little voice in your head that tells you not to do something you really want to do), to free them from the Judeo-Christian ethic and to return everyone to the age of the barbarians when Germany defeated Rome and its false Christian idea was less detectable as evil. Evil brought into a society slowly and using words and phrases which everybody knows and each time corrupting their original meaning just slightly can bring an entire people, an entire country, an entire continent or even a significant and possible majority of a religion to do and practice horrific evils all because they couched everything in pretty frames and used the words from their holy books in selective order choosing those phrases which supported their ultimate goal. And if your nation, religion, sect or any other civil group has written somewhere in their liturgy the need to spread the culture, religion, dominion or whatever defines the intended audience to the entire world, that can be stated as conquer the world and make all like ourselves or they must die if they refuse as your central tenet which is another evil.

To put it as an analogy for the lighting of several billion tons of high explosives, the fuse has been lit and we know not its length nor do we know if it is cannon fuse or fast fuse. The fuse could be five-hundred miles long and be the slowest cannon fuse burning about a foot per day or it could be three-feet of fast fuse which once lit we would not get to turn, let alone run. The coming conflagration could start between the writing and the posting or it could wait a decade before boiling over and igniting, or even longer. That is the ways of such things. Still, looking around the globe and the problem is not seeing the growing chaos but picking where the world is unravelling the fastest. Figure that out, then you might believe you have found the flashpoint, not true. The world is tricky with such things. Often the trigger comes from the most unexpected places and other times it becomes so obvious to all only in hindsight. Take the two world wars, the first the trigger is obvious but only after the event while the other built upon pressures put in place to prevent such but instead guaranteed another war. On the other hand anyone studying the world and conflict would have been concentrating on the splits occurring in Islam and been blindsided by the Mongols. Then, looking back you can only shake one’s head and wonder, what was the Caliph thinking when he sent back the severed heads of the emissaries sent by Genghis Khan attempting to set up trade relations. Well yes, we know he believed he had the strongest forces in the known world, which was the problem; they knew nothing about the Mongols and underestimated their strength. It would have been wonderful to see the look on his face as the Mongols road in from over the horizon. Their reaction must have been similar to the Germans on the defenses at Normandy when the fog lifted and they saw the invasion fleet (see picture below). This was amongst the largest of any invasion fleet in human history in numbers of men, ships and definitely in tonnage of equipment, manpower and supplies.

Looking around our world today and the obvious flash points are the crumbling order of the Middle East and North Africa and the expansions of China; yet a closer inspection also brings in Iran and North Korea. Still, the bet is that whatever is coming will come from elsewhere with one safe bet being out from Europe yet again. But Asia has its history of conflicts with China central in most of them either as conqueror or as victim. One of the longest but least studied in Western schools are the many wars between China and India. Then there are the conflicts which included Japan, the Koreans (they were not always split), Vietnamese, Siam, Philippines, and the Mongols. China was the ten-ton nation in the center and thus a major part of any conflict. Interestingly, within the next decade it is predicted that China will have to surrender its title as most populous nation to India. India has played a part in much of Western history despite it barely getting notice in modern classrooms. India with their sheer numbers formed the eastern wall denying the Persians expansion forcing their thrusts westward where they made their most fateful enemies, the Greeks. After Alexander had handed the Persians their revenge from the Greeks and then struck the same wall, the Indian army and sheer numbers. Perhaps India might be credited with dividing the world between Asia and Europe with the Middle East the fields where the wars would be fought because attacking India was suicide. The Middle East was once the starting and ending place of uncountable wars but two most devastating wars such that they are remembered as World Wars I & II. These were the final two wars between the powers of Europe where, in some combination or another, France, Spain and Britain fought for centuries. The warring between these three nations spread world wide as they conquered the New World and much of Asia becoming empires. It was once boasted that the sun never set on the British Empire. The British had India as a colony and shared the oppression of China during the Opium Wars. The Opium Wars were two wars in the mid-19th century involving Anglo-Chinese disputes over British trade in China and China’s sovereignty. Then there are the largely unstudied wars between the Native American tribes as well as the tribes of Central and Southern America. Where will the next great conflagration originate is anybody’s guess? We need to remember that World War I was started in what has to be one of the most convoluted series of events. Yes, there was an assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife, Duchess of Hohenberg Sophie, who were assassinated in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914 by Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian patriot fighting for Bosnian independence. He sat waiting in a position which was not supposed to be traveled by the Archduke as the main ambush was set on the planned route but this young and overly excited youth demanded a part and those planning it placed him in this out of the way spot to end his constant demands to be included, or so the rumors put it. Archduke Ferdinand and wife Sophie ended up on the alternate route as their driver, unfamiliar with the winding roads, had taken a wrong turn and was attempting to find a turn to return to the desired route which likely led the driver to drive at a slower speed than usual which probably made the shooting easier than had they been at speed. From this intricate entanglement of events came World War I.

This accidental conclusion of missteps brought two people into the path, though unintended, fatefully resulting in the shot that started one of the most devastating wars in human history. This was the first mechanized war where the machine gun ruled the early battlefield only to be outdone by the first land dreadnaughts, the early tanks. These tanks were undependable but would usually function just long enough to reach the opposing trenches free from the slaughtering horizontal hail of machine gun bullets. The machine gun made the war stagnate until the German and Austro-Hungarian troops introduced poison gas into the conflict. The Allied powers of Britain, France, Italy, Russia and Japan responded with the same and these toxins proved a double-sided sword as a change in the winds could turn your side’s gas attack right back onto your own troops. Both sides responded with gasmasks making the gas attacks mostly irritants and mildly dangerous as troops learned how to survive these attacks. The tank was the final weapon changing the battlefield and its introduction brought the war closer to its end. The final shot to the heart was the entrance of the United States whose troops proved to make the difference in the end. The treaties ending World War I gave birth to the Arab states, and a Christian nation, Lebanon, and a Jewish nation, Israel. The Christian nation is in conflict with a series of civil conflicts which has caused much of the Christian population to flee. Christians were over 60% of the Lebanese population in 1970 and that percentage fell to under 35% by 2010. The Jewish nation is unfortunately also in conflict but with a different outcome (see timeline below). The History is a bit longer and more twisted with two exiles, one the Babylonian Exile of seventy years followed by a return to the land but ruled from outside as a tax paying province of successive empires followed by the seriously long exile of approaching two-thousand years caused by the Roman Empire destroying the lands, spreading the Jews throughout their kingdom and some even ejected to the foreign states beyond, renamed the region to erase the name of the Jews, something the Palestinian Arabs are attempting to do today, all in an attempt to erase the Jews as a people from the world. There are historians who claim the Roman Empire had done this to a number of other peoples but there is a problem, the Romans succeeded in erasing those tribes and peoples from the world and their names are forgotten with the exception of the Carthaginians whose names is remembered but who as a people have disappeared (they were originally called the Phoenicians it is believed but they were forced to move after wars with the Israelites under King David). Somehow, the Jew managed to retain their oneness and their identity and have started to return for hopefully the final time never again to be uprooted. The series of treaties ending World War I shattered two empires, the Ottoman Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire. From the Austro-Hungarian Empire we have the Balkan States as well as Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia and, of course, Austria and Hungary (see map below). Germany lost much of their eastern and western lands to Poland and France respectively. Losing a war has consequences but Germany was so financially crippled that the Weiner Republic was unable to maintain or even establish a functional economic core which led to the rise of a disgruntled population, especially the so-called underclass who were the largest segment of the unemployed. This led to the rise of a leader who promised to tear up the treaty, build a renewed and strong Germany and end the domination of the French and the British and repel the Communists from taking over Germany, as the Soviet Union replaced Russia as one of the most detested and suspicious of countries by whom Germany felt threatened.

Now, let us return, if you will pardon the witticism, back to the future. From our little jaunt through some diverse history and statistics, we hopefully learned that wars have been the norm over the entirety of the planet and human history. It started way back when one tribe saw some women, cattle, stored grains and good land which only had one small problem; they belonged to this other tribe. The one tribe decided to alleviate the other tribe of their land, women, crops, cattle and other belongings so they killed all the males over the age of around nine or ten and any women who proved too resistive and all of the tribe’s people too old to be of any productive service which would make up for the food and other provisioning they would require. This has progressed such that the wars we wage in modern times are not claimed to be to take the other tribes’ women, but that may not mean that is not part of the equation which we purposely refuse to mention. The one other thing we have learned from history is that as war has progressed they have become more and more efficient killing machines. War deaths had been constantly increasing in lethality until World War II and the newest ultimate weapon (see below graph). The weapon was the atomic bomb which convinced the Emperor of Japan to end the war rather than see his nation destroyed. Despite the deaths and effect over time by their use, it is estimated that by ending the war without the need to invade the Japanese homeland saved as much as one-million American and Allied lives and potentially far more Japanese lives including potentially hundreds of millions of civilian lives as the Emperor had demanded that Japan fight to the last person, initially believing the allies would rather surrender to his demands than take such losses. The other thusfar lasting effect over time of the destructive power and lethality of nuclear weapons has been a decline in war related deaths. The one problem is that there exists no weapon, no matter how lethal, which once invented did not become used generally in war other than poison gas and nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, we are witnessing the dawn of a resurgent power which did not suffer or be included in the war where poisonous gasses and nerve agents were utilized nor the one where nuclear weapons were used and thus are not intimidated or bothered by their effects nor the suffering which they cause. This could lead to these weapons both becoming weapons of choice in a war in the future. Imagine a war where cities are leveled with thermonuclear weapons and the battlefield is reeking of dead animals and people, mostly civilians trapped without the necessary protection while soldiers move about in hooded coverings, gloves, boot-covers and gas masks seeming to skulk and lumber from position to position with sporadic gunfire dulled by the deadly heavy gaseous smoke permeating the battlefield lying thickest in the gullies and trenches. This could be a coming future were these weapons to become used commonly across a wide battlefield covering every continent. That is how civilizations die.

This is not what is feared to be on the near horizon. Still, the signs and tensions in the world keep climbing with hardly ever any sign of relief. Things can only be stretched so far before they break. We can only hope that the leaders of our world continue to inspect their areas and assure that nothing reaches a breaking-point. Leaders must keep the peace but that can become difficult to the point of impossible. Would that all leaders of the world desired peace more than expansion and seeking some intractable, uncompromising goal then the problems could be resolved peaceably and through negotiations and not through violence. Problems arise when some have visions of greatness and a world which by right belongs to them and only them. Such visions and beliefs allow for no compromise. The unfortunate reality is that not every civilization, not every group in the world has forgotten their goals of world conquest. The developed world once believed in world conquest which drove their colonialization, a period which was surrendered decades back and all the colonies returned to local rule. There are those in this world who still believe in conquest and expansion and that can only increase tensions very possibly to the breaking-point. The recent elections in Europe we saw resurgence of nationalism and saw the far left demand that they be granted control of all media so they could prevent any further strengthening of the nationalist camps. Such distrust could result in even more strife in an already stressed environment. It does not matter where violence starts, it only matters where it leads and how it ends. Avoiding violence is preferable whenever possible. There are points for every society beyond which there will be no retreat and those are dangerous places. There are already those in places around the world who are starting to feel pressured and pressed already. There are others who care little who they press and one has even taken to making new land on which to place military sites. In a time when we should be talking and treading lightly, we have some who are charging forward ignoring those they may be threatening. We need to find compromises but in order for this to occur there needs to be reasoning and compromise, not threats and demands. The world is too full of threats and demands and far too short on talk and compromise. Where it leads right now appears frightening with little promise and that can be intimidating. Intimidation causes mistakes and mistakes leads to worse. I wish we were more perfect a creature, but we still act more like beasts than intelligent beings that are presumably civilized. These things frighten many of us and unfortunately do not frighten enough of us to make those who would utilize violence change. That is the unfortunate truth and that means that violence is inevitable. That will not end well with the knowledge and abilities human kind has for destruction, even against his own kind. But then, those who would use violence as their means of solving differences because they believe it is their right to claim superiority over all, that leaves everyone under threat as weapons have gone well beyond limited usage. Let us hope everyone knows that war no longer produces winners, it can only send us all back to the stone age, if we survive, if we survive.

Internet Insanity Over Potential Trump Assassination

There have been numerous articles where people are all but, and some obviously, salivating over the possibility of President Trump being assassinated including as an example about Quora postings. What proved far more interesting was that many people had similar responses over had Bill Clinton, Barack Obama or both George Bushes had been assassinated. Much of this could be due to Quora being an international forum thus those disrespecting any American President becomes less surprising. Still, the reaction to the idea that no thinking or feeling Secret Service Agent should ever consider taking a bullet intended for President for us was unsettling. The fact that Kerry O’Grady, a now former senior Secret Service Agent who was the senior agent in Denver, explains that she viewed Trump as a candidate for President to be a “disaster” for the country, and especially for women and minorities and she would rather suffer “jail time” rather than “taking a bullet” to save his life. Apparently, she never read the fine print in her job description. Nowhere did it say take a bullet to save the life of whomever you are assigned to protect only if you liked them and believed them worth saving. Her position did not provide for such leeway or other considerations beyond it was her job to do everything within her power, to include but not limited to taking a bullet, to protect the President of the United States and all others deemed by the department as somebody the Secret Service was protecting. Apparently, the train has left the tracks and is teetering on the edge of a cliff as everything has gone south and the entire system is starting to fall apart all due to the simple fact that half the nation is upset that their preferred candidate lost an election. Could you imagine the New York Times, Washington Post and a thousand other leftist newspapers and news outlets reaction had a Secret Service Agent gone on the Internet and claimed that they would not protect Barack Obama? We would have become just as outrages over such a protestation and demanded that agent be relieved of their position, not just punished, but fired and made sure they never again received any position in law enforcement or other position where they were responsible for the lives of others, as to do so would be as criminal as would be her refusal to protect the President of the United States regardless of her personal feelings.

Kerry O’Grady Special Agent in Charge United States Secret Service Denver District

Now on to the continuing events and social media storms which are still showing little signs of reduction in numbers, ferocity of opinions or extremes in temperament. This is not normal nor is it healthy for the nation as it is tantamount to a Civil War except thus far without the bullets. The opinions were just as divided, though in exactly the opposite direction, both times when Barack Obama won and became President of the United States, yet there were minimal eruptions on social media and no Secret Service Agents refusing to take a bullet for the President on social media or marches on Washington or in major cities across the nation. Yes, there were the Tea Party rallies which somehow managed not to permit any signs showing the President being shot or otherwise being harmed. The Tea Party rallies mostly spoke of political action to take back the Congress and the White House through elections, not revolutions. There were no ninja styled black clad figures attacking Obama supporters on college campuses or at pro-Obama rallies. There were no rallies demanding he resign. The Tea Party was actually organized to fight the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and after that, other legislations which those people did not particularly care for. There were neither calls for the assassination of the President nor discussions on social media which gleefully called for him to die any one of numerous horrific deaths from assassination to diseases to poisoning and others. There were no demands that his opponents from the two elections be placed in the White House in his place by any means necessary. But, there really were many, many people equally upset when he won the first election and started implementing his socialist agenda and even higher emotions against his second term but never to the point of desiring him illness or physical harm. That was seen as simply beyond the pale by all and his opponents simply prayed for the nation to survive and for the harm to be minimized such that when a new election allowed for rolling back some of what his opponents saw as harm to the nation could start and sanity return to politics. Apparently, the desire for sanity to return to politics was one desire too far. The one thing which definitely has not occurred was for sanity to have returned to politics and that is true about both sides.

That is the one item which has proven the sole outlet for humor, that there are conservatives just as irate as the leftists though the conservatives are not amongst those demanded Trump’s head, at least not yet. The Never Trump conservatives such as journalist Jeff Jacoby and Arizona Senator John McCain have yet to decide that working with President Trump might result in accomplishing more for the conservative cause than trying to beat him into submission along with those from the left. Similar such things happened before in the conservatives corner and it cost the Republican Party severely. It was when Barry Goldwater won the nomination for President and the core of the Republican Party felt thwarted and worked more against his candidacy than they supported him. Their lack of effort very likely cost him that extremely thin loss to John F. Kennedy which led to the Presidency of Lyndon Baines Johnson, the singular president most responsible for the socialization and destruction of the United States. Many have laid blame for the wrong direction taken by the United States for the past three-quarters of a century at his feet even more than they do at those of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. We would rate President Johnson as the worst President in United States history and it will remain to be seen if President Barack Obama manages to eek out a victory over President Johnson for that title. We sincerely doubt that but are open to the possibility as President Obama does have a lot of potential going for him. Where much of the damage done by President Obama can still be reversed or at least mitigated, what President Johnson committed is now engrained into the fabric of the United States and to remove it would take a concerted effort and the winning of both the Congress and the White House for at least a third of a century, a near impossibility for the conservatives who are but a state or two away from electoral extinction. Should the Left manage to rip Texas over to the other side, the conservatives will possibly never recover without some cataclysm befalling the nation, and the United States might never recover from such an event.

The left realize how close they are to near total control of the electoral levers and the complete victory. They have been working to turn the United States ever since Woodrow Wilson if not Teddy Roosevelt. The problem is that both the Democrat (not Democratic) Party and the Republican Party have both been supporting the leftist goals of socialist governance. The mere difference has been the speed in which to arrive at their socialist utopia. The Democrats would have preferred to have arrived at their goal around 1999 while the Republicans were for a slower progress arriving around 2250. What is interesting is why President Donald Trump has equal disdain coming at him from both the extreme left and many on the empowered right. The reason for the mutual disdain is because President Trump actually is against the Progressive agenda, be it slow or fast. President Trump is no progressive, no socialist, no normal politician, he is actually as advertised, a businessman. President Trump knows little of the political games or how government works, nor does he care. He likely has an idea of what he would like to accomplish but unfortunately, less knowledge of the give and take required to reach his goals. The brighter side, for those who think that President Trump might be their knight in shining armor, President Trump is probably a faster learner than his opponents believe. That is something we will see with time. If Donald Trump is half the man he thinks himself to be, then it may be interesting to watch and see what he will accomplish. If President Trump is as big the fool as his opponents constantly claim, then the United States is in for four years of horrific despair and then hopefully a more fitting President after the next election. Again, we will see.

The Potentially Unavoidable Apocalypse

There is a coming apocalyptic war which will spill throughout Europe into the Middle East and may result at some point to one side using nuclear weapons should that option become available and there is no reason to believe it would not as making a nuclear weapon in modern times is just a few steps higher than making a weapon with normal high explosives. Thermonuclear weapons might require a small cadre of dedicated physicists but a nuclear device such as the ones used against Japan are within the ability of many intelligent high school graduates as their construction is available on the internet for any enterprising individual to research. The difficulty, if there is one, is gathering the fissile materials; from there it is a simple matter of machining and choosing your designs. This is a horrible truth to place over the heads of millions of innocents who will pay dearly when the coming war enters its main and determinative battle phase. Imagine the war in Syria and spread it over the better part of three continents and potentially throughout the entirety of the globe with few exceptions. Add in a final set of battles using nuclear weapons, initially the fifteen to twenty-five kilotons and soon after breaking into megatons and thermonuclear weapons such as the type held by major nuclear powers and available to any nations willing to put the necessary effort into their production and there easily could be some non-State factions such as the Muslim Brotherhood or neo-Nazi supremacists who have sufficient resources, talent and safe areas of operations that they also could produce such weapons once they gain access to the necessary materials. Before such a calamity reaches the doorsteps of our lives we need to ask where this war could begin.

The sparking point could be simply anywhere in Europe and it will not begin with any nation as much as a civil war started by the populations themselves. The triggering point would be a massive multi-city coordinated terrorist event where the people in the stricken localities start a war with the claimed intent of vindicating those murdered in the terror attack. Such an event could start the spiral into a more general war with many people caught in the crossfire similarly to what happened in Syria except this would have spread across Europe city by city until it involved national armies breaking from their officers and stepping in to assist the people, or at least that was their intention. Once tanks start to roll on the streets the civil unrest would enter a completely different phase which would snowball until it became another war starting in Europe but this will range far outside of Europe. Many of the terror enterprises are loosely interwoven and could respond to the escalation taking over the military hardware and troops of sympathetic or easily toppled rulers in order to gain the use of military weapons. This could soon spread in such a manner as to include many European state actors pulled into a conflict which would be quickly getting completely beyond the control of normal safeguards as both societies begin to call for the saving of their way of life, their freedoms and the customs and other particulars they hold dear and are comfortably familiar with. Once it becomes nation against nation it will then call upon like-minded or treaty bound allies into the fray and from there it does not stop easily. People discount such events leading to such a conflagration but as they have not studied history they are not aware on what simple actions have dragged humanity into costly and often destabilizing conflicts. Take the second most costly war in history, World War I. This war began with the assassination of a royal family head, the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo by Achille Beltrame as the Archduke and his wife were shot while riding in their car after taking a wrong turn. The real attempt to assassinate Archduke Francis Ferdinand had been set along his scheduled route but a sympathizer saw him passing his location and took advantage of the opportunity believing he was serving his oppressed people and never expecting the horrors of World War I to come as a result of a few bullets into one world leader and his wife. The people called for revenge and soon thereafter it got beyond any local conflict and the entire globe even to include Japan were honoring treaties or simply choosing one side or the other. World War I was more about honoring treaties than revenge for an assassination and that is what is frightening about the world today.

Mutual defense treaties which require entire groups of nations to jump into a conflict once a member demands assistance exist and NATO is simply one such treaty. NATO, as an example, could be called to assist any member state who has become embroiled in a conflict which they feel they might require greater assistance. NATO had an interesting set of members of which Turkey is one of the longstanding members due to their strategic control of the Bosphorus Straights which control access from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea and from there the Atlantic Ocean and the world. These narrow waterways were essential for Russia to deploy her ships and thus the NATO powers bribed and forced Turkey into NATO in case there became a time when the West would desire to blockade the Russian Black Sea fleet from gaining access to the Mediterranean Sea. It really is that simple and Turkey just sent tanks into Syria. The picture of how an intervention can be conducted under the idea, which is obvious when one looks at the bombings in Turkey, which violent attacks originate from the terror groups within Syria who are adversarial to Turkey and their government and President Erdogan in particular. What would be the ramifications should Turkey’s President Erdogan be assassinated or an attempt was made on his life but failed only grievously wounding him but leaving him to survive. By the time he came out of surgery which saved his life the war could have already been started and Turkish jets bombing targets in Syria, specifically the western holdout areas of the Alawites and Syrian dictator Bashir al-Assad. It is also the base for the Russian fleet in Latakia, Syria. We may remember the near tipping point reached when a single Russian fighter jet was shot from the skies over Turkey, or at least seemingly over Turkey as it was attacking within Syria and these fast aircraft have large turning radii. Now imagine an airstrike which missed the Syria barracks in Latakia and instead struck the Russian docs sinking two Russian warships and killing fifty or a hundred Russian sailors. How long before Putin declares war on Turkey who then calls in their NATO marker and instant World War as Russia too has such agreements with the likes of China, Iran, some Arab League nations and other eastern Asian nations. The Arab League would necessarily side with Russia believing that Turkey would be incapable of standing against such forces and not figuring on Europe and the United States and Anglosphere nations backing Turkey. Doubtful such will happen, but there was a presumed coup in Turkey recently and that could have turned out much different if it had been a serious coup threatening the governance.

One item that bears keeping in mind, wars seldom start where or how we expect them to. They start with a relatively insignificant shot from one rifle or crossbow or a sword placed within some leader of a following religiously, politically, or even a cause. The Arab Spring, or Arab Winter as we had predicted, began with one vegetable hawker committing suicide in protest of unfair taxes and laws and self-immolating and Tunisia exploded followed by Egypt and down the row of dominoes giving us Syria and also Libya thanks to some overactive interventions from far away in Washington D.C. and someone leading from behind and an overanxious Secretary of State seeking another feather for a Presidential run seeing and grasping what appeared to be a golden opportunity for nation building. Somewhere in these plans things unraveled and we have a dysfunctional Libya with warring tribes and terrorist entities. It, like Syria, is an open hotbed and perfect location for a terrorist group such as the Islamic State to manufacture the bombs of their choosing. One has to figure that at some point the Islamic State has come into weapons such as nerve gas or even radiological materials of weapons grade uranium. One can only guess what their true capabilities might include. Once a nuclear device has been manufactured, it would easily be deliverable to anywhere in Europe including Great Britain. It could be built and concealed inside a cement truck and hidden under a load of dried cement resulting from a traffic holdup which allowed the load to set in the truck. Who would chip away at half a ton or more of cement to inspect the vehicle and once inside Turkey it could easily transverse the entirety of Europe taking it to any European capital city or large metropolitan area for a nuclear terror attack. What comes after such an attack? Yep, there is no telling but it would not be good, that much we can count upon.

Riots can spread and become to have a life of their own and who knows where such could lead. Terrorism can spark unrest which could easily get out of hand. Ultra-nationalist right wing parties are gaining strength throughout Europe and these parties preach an active approach to what they term is an invasion, and who knows for sure, they could be right. Can anyone tell me the results of passing a law to expunge a nation of all non-citizens referring to them as a risk and a threat which the country no longer believes they can allow? Should one incident get out of control with some troops opening fire on unarmed civilians which they are gathering for deportation under the auspices of the new citizens’ only laws, what would come next? Once one nation cleans their population of all foreign noncitizens and shipped them over the border to the next location? Where would this lead once the majority of a continent has cleansed themselves of everyone who is not just like their pure racial idea of their country and there are a few million dispossessed people, what happens to what is now an enraged army of people? Currently the Middle East and Northern Africa are roiling points and Europe is not that far from exploding into riots and other uncontrolled violence any one of which could result in some very undesirable turns of events leading to greater areas of violence stopping who knows where assuming they stop at all. The world at present is a powder keg and it would not take much to light the fuse, assuming it has not already been lit.
