The Man Who Can Do No Wrong

 

Former Secretary of State John Kerry claims that he has never done anything beyond the bounds of the norm. Interestingly enough, it appears that he himself is the one who defines the norms. What an interesting combination, he writes the rules to fit his actions such that he can claim he committed no foul. It is as if he is constantly posed as below and asking, ‘Who me? I didn’t do anything because, as I see it, every former Secretary of State has dabbled in world affairs after leaving office. I didn’t do anything untoward.’ Of course not, as telling the Iranian leadership that they can simply outwait the current administration as they will be gone at the longest another six years, and even if the next President is also a Republican, just wait as eventually the Democrats will be back in control, and then everything will be just wonderful. There will be no sanctions on Iran and the trade will flow along with the dollars needed to build a nuclear arsenal rivaling the rest of the world combined and we will accept the lies coming from the AIEA because we trust that Iran has no designs on conquest. Never mind the little problems of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, the Kurds and their desires to eradicate Israel, little matters such as these are no concern of the United States. We can be great friends and not allow small insignificant items such as the fare of the world to interrupt our great, honest and straightforward relations, as we trust the leadership of Iran to never try and sell us falsehoods. We believe every word of your denials of any intention to manufacture nuclear warheads and that all your development of ballistic missiles, both continental and inter-continental is simply research for a peaceful space research and would never be used to have warheads attached to the top and be launched at the United States or any ally we actually honestly care about. And about the reach you are attempting to place around the Middle East, we can work with you on that.

As far as Israel is concerned, they have been a problem to the State Department from the very first when they ignored our advice to wait as May of 1948 just was not the right time for a new nation. We asked them to wait until the problems with the Arabs were worked to a satisfactory conclusion and they ignored our requests and went ahead recklessly. Israel, that Jewish Zionist place, has been the bane of our existence ever since and they still refuse to make the necessary sacrifices to end the standoff with the Palestinian Arabs and the Arab world. If those Israelis (read Jews) would simply listen to their betters and allow the Arabs to rule the lands and care for them, then there would be no problem and everything would be as it is supposed to be. But no, they keep harping about things such as San Remo and Treaty of Sèvres and the Mandate and United Nations Charter Article 80 claiming that the Jordan River was some magical implant supposed to be the eastern border of Israel. Why they cannot understand that there is no such thing as a natural homeland for the Jews and that such an idea was just some fairytale from the Bible which has no bearing on this modern, secular-humanist world where there are no deities and religion has been superseded by science and those things known which are truth. We understand that you see the world similarly as we do as you have told us that we can trust one another and that you completely understand our position and agree with it completely. We can work together to make a better world and you have signed onto that and promised that you have no desires to conquer the Middle East or anything else and that you are simply assisting indigenous leaders to rule that which is rightfully theirs. I, John Kerry fully understand and know that your tongue would burst into flames if you were to lie as you are sacred and religiously guided people of truth who do not even have a word for lie in your entire language, and I have studied it in depth and fully understand the Islamic ways of the religion of peace and brotherhood.

 

That is a basic insight into the machinations which go on inside the mind of Former Secretary of State John Kerry. Reality is that he is absolutely clueless and a complete fraud and has been a complete fraud his entire life. He was a hero in Viet Nam, just ask him and he will most gladly pontificate on the rumination of his extended service in country. He was there almost six whole months before collecting three Purple Hearts which gets one a free ride home. All three were requested by Lieutenant John Kerry or Captain John Kerry though some were written up by others at his behest. He almost lost a full ounce of blood from all three incidents of which his injuries were self-inflicted. This was his claim to fame then, and he marries rich women, preferably older rich women. Then he did the anti-war thing with Jane Fonda as his role model. Then he told lies about the ‘atrocities’ committed by men in his unit. Had such occurred under his command, guess who should have faced charges for dereliction of duty? That’s right, the officer in charge, John Kerry. The reality is none of the items he reported were provable and there were no reprimands on record for any of these breaches of orders. The United States military, speaking as a veteran of the United States Army, is one of the most honorable and correct acting militaries in the world. The United States military is so deeply preached and instructed in what is legal and what is not and these lessons are almost second nature such that the only Armies which might surpass the United States are Israel and Switzerland in that order. In the case of the Swiss, it might be due to their not joining any conflict for around a millennia and a half. And the Israeli Army has been examined very closely by numerous international observers which have declared the IDF to be at a level so high that it would endanger the troops of any other Western Nations if they were to adopt the Israeli methods for warning civilians, and by such also their enemies, of exactly where the next attack will be, which direction they will be approaching from, what time they can be expected and far too many other details which all are used to prepare ambushes and other traps. The IDF is the sole military which will call off an important strike on a building or area if civilians or unidentified individual are found within the strike zone. This is the reason why Hamas places women and children on the roofs of buildings where their most important manufacturing of rockets and instruments of war are produced or where their top commanders are operating. This is why the central command and control center for Hamas operations against Israel is located in a subbasement of the Gaza City Al-Shifa Hospital. Any other military in the world would have most likely risked the destruction of the Hospital in order to make an attack upon such an important and central target. The IDF simply permits the central command to operate freely against Israel while also providing them with all the vital information as to where the IDF forces will be moving next as by doing so they might save innocent lives.

Meanwhile, back to John Kerry and his new position as the logistics advisor to the Iranian Mullahs as to what is their best course to get around the stresses placed upon them by President Trump. The advice for them to simply wait President Trump out came with a condition, that the ‘Blue Wave’ is coming and the Democrats will be taking control of both houses of Congress and will be in a position to prevent any further moves by President Trump. Actually, John Kerry was talking to the Iranians as if he was assured that not only would the Democrat Party rule the Congress, but also they would have sufficient strength in the House of Representatives that they will be capable of bringing impeachment charges against President Trump over the Russia collusion and obstruction of justice and then in the Senate have the two thirds along with certain Republicans, many refer to them as RHINOs or call them Jeff Flake (who will be gone) and (coming in) Mitt Romney, to actually impeach President Trump finding him guilty of any charges. What John Kerry did not bother to explain was how this would help in any way as once this was done, the new President would be Mike Pence, a man devoted to a similar program for the United States and possibly far more conservative than President Trump could ever achieve. But the other part of Former Secretary of State John Kerry advice is that in 2020 the Democrats are assured of winning the White House, there is absolutely no doubt that this will be the result of the 2020 elections along with the strongest majorities in both houses well beyond what President Barack Obama saw in his first two years, and then everything will be set to rights. This idea of the current situation as wrong and the foreign policies of President Obama and his Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and John Kerry as the correct path is pretty much rejected by at least half of the United States. That is the reason that Donald Trump was elected to the White House. But the assurance that there is a ‘Blue Wave’ coming in the fall elections and that the Democrats will win the White House and have super-majorities in both houses of Congress after the 2020 election is either dreaming or perhaps they know something the rest of the world does not. Perhaps they may be correct, as there have been numerous reports of voter fraud from all regions of the nation. For a biased report from the Heritage Foundation, which we label as biased because any reporting which proves the full extent of voter fraud found is always referred to as biased. We are told by the media that there is no such thing as voter fraud. Forget the districts which had more votes cast than there are registered voters by a sizable percentage as such reports are ignoring some reality which causes such which we are just too ignorant to fathom reality.

 

President Trump Rumbling with the Deep State

 

Former Secretary of State John Kerry probably is a closer representation of the actual agendas put forth by the State Department, the one cabinet position where the underlying efforts support an agenda which currently is directly opposing that of the President. We have all heard and been given a glimpse behind the curtain revealing the can of worms which is the ‘Deep State.’ Perhaps it has been the infighting between President Trump with both the media and the bureaucracy of the ‘Deep State’ and the means by which the people of the United States have elected officials who have traded away their power to the civil service employees and their management in the name of expediency. The current form of passing bills which explain the desired result and then passing them along to the appropriate government agencies to fill in the particular through regulations which have the same effect as laws has left these nearly irreplaceable, permanent employees who actually rule the United States all but independent of the elected officials. This was where one idea from President Trump probably did more to prevent this continuing was his Executive Order requiring federal agencies to cut two existing regulations for every new regulation they implement. The unfortunate truth is that there currently exists so many of these regulations that many can be repealed as they are simply included in other regulations. The actual problem is that there exist regulations which require one to file a report on their actions while another declares those exact actions to be against another regulation. This works well when the government enforcement agencies desire squeezing somebody in order to bring other charges against ‘bigger fish.’ The first thing you do is see if the chosen victim committed such an action by taking the filed report and then prosecute them under the regulation making such actions illegal and then offer a deal if they turn over on the next person higher up. This was used against Paul Manafort particularly, as well as others, and he was convicted simply because he refused to roll over on somebody closer to the President. This is what was famously the case with Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North when he took the fall protecting everyone above him in the Iran-Contra prosecution, or should we say witch-hunt.

 

Now shall we look at the current affair with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was approved almost along party lines with the irony that the vote which put the Kavanaugh nomination over the top was Joe Manchin III, Democrat from West Virginia. What happened to this man was the result of inexcusable actions where those opposing his nomination, not on the grounds that he was unqualified, but because his politics was not completely in-line with theirs. Brett Kavanaugh, and even more so his wife and daughter, were taken from the chair and dragged through as much mud and accusations of misconduct bringing every sort of perversion brought forward treated as fact at the last few days of an approval after he was appointed on July 9, 2018, to replace the Supreme Court Justice for whom he had clerked and was completely backed by Justice Anthony Kennedy who was retiring leaving the vacancy. The first, and likely most serious, of these accusations was held by the opposition waiting for the final days and was brought forward and then acted upon in what has to be called hypocritical means simply in an attempt to stall the process hoping to push the final vote till beyond the election. The hope was if the final vote could be pushed beyond the midterm elections, then the ‘Blue Wave’ mentioned above would allow the opposition to bury the Kavanaugh nomination and prevent the filling of the position until after the 2020 election when we have been told the Democrats are going to win, and they will win Yuge! Of course, both of these predictions of forthcoming election results are purely imaginative. If you believe in polls, then it will completely depend on whose poll you wish to hang your hopes. Sure, there are polls which show the Democrats winning the House of Representatives by varying margins and a small number which claim they will achieve a majority sufficient to overturn Presidential vetoes allowing the Democrats to rule the United States as they please and intelligently rather than what Trump has done working on whims of the moment. Such majorities could also result in an impeachment of President Trump and should they work fast enough, impeachment of President Pence before his appointed Vice Presidential nominee is approved which would then place the Speaker of the House into the White House. Imagine who might be the speaker of the house. It might be Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Peter DeFazio, Rosa DeLauro or even Maxine Waters or Jerrold Nadler. Should the Democrats mange to receive their awaited ‘Blue Wave’ they have predicted which will allow them to save America, then whomever they choose for Speaker of the House, that person could end up in the White House by the end of March 2019.

 

On the other side of the coin, what if there is no ‘Blue Wave’ and instead there is sufficient gains by Republicans who will back President Trump allowing him to complete his agenda and fulfill the campaign promises he made plus approve his nominees to judgeships and especially the Supreme Court, then things will look considerably different. The Kavanaugh hearings and the ugly turn of events resulting from the obstructionism used by the Democrats may actually backfire on them come the midterm elections. Particularly damaging was Julie Swetnick who swore an affidavit claiming Brett Kavanaugh assisted in spiking drinks at ‘rape parties’ and then lined up to have the drugged women of which she had been one. This apparently went on at a number of parties which this woman willingly attended. Why would any woman continue to attend such parties knowing of these acts, and that is only the half of the story. The problem with Ms. Swetnick’s accusations was her walk-back of them on a television interview with NBC News’ Kate Snow where she stated she was unsure if Brett Kavanaugh was actually present and had even participated in the alleged activities. Can we say ‘Ooops?’ When you swear in an affidavit stating that somebody committed as heinous and consistent series of highly illegal and immoral acts and that you were both a witness and fell victim to these plots, the last thing you want to do is then appear on a national television interview and claim uncertainty as to whether the single most important person you have identified in your affidavit may not have actually acted as claimed or even been at most of the events. Where we come from, that is called perjury and is taken rather seriously, well, normally. We also feel that her actions could end up making the other accusation less credible just by guilt of association. Ms. Swetnick’s further problem is a separation of a couple of years from when Brett Kavanaugh would have been in High School, otherwise she was an extremely young woman, we might even say girl, to be permitted to even go to these parties and would have required transportation to and from them due to distance. Still, these accusations will haunt Brett Kavanaugh the rest of his life and may interfere with his ability to continue in his marriage as how these accusations will affect his wife remains to be seen. If he is guilty of any of these acts, then his appointment may have been a mistake, but only if you believe that people cannot change, not ever no matter what. Of course, at other times the Democrats have claimed that such things are ‘just about sex.’ The Democrats in similar circumstances have talked about second chances in life, but Brett Kavanaugh has received absolutely no breaks from the Democrats on this one. One must wonder how often Brett Kavanaugh needs to have his diapers changed as he wore diapers past his second birthday if our claims are to be considered accurate. Further, the Democrats will come out solidly and back former Secretary of State Kerry claiming he has done nothing threatening the United States and was acting with only the purest of objectives and cannot be blamed that President Trump cannot see to use this upright and proud American more to the advantage of the United States, especially when it comes to foreign relations with Iran and other nations in the Middle East. Fortunately, former Secretary of State Kerry will not be coming to Israel to work out any deals and tell the Israeli Prime Minister how to conduct affairs. He might sneak his way into Nablus, but we feel assured that Mahmoud Abbas can continue to scream and cry hoping the world will destroy Israel for him with or without the assistances of former Secretary of State Kerry.

Trump Should Let the People Decide

 

We all know how President Trump loves poking Democrats whenever he has an opportunity. Some of us know he enjoys the same sport against certain Republicans. Further, it should be known that there is a group which President Trump trusts implicitly, the American People as a whole. These are the ones who placed him in the White House with hope that he would perform as advertised and not as his checkered past might indicate. Thus far, they have not been let down. That is why President Trump needs to trust this same group to end the witch trials going on in the United States Senate under the guise of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings where Advise and Consent has become Deride and Accuse. The drama, or caricature of a drama, has been playing out in the Senate chambers and across the front pages of numerous newspapers. In many instances, what has been written bore little in common with what was actually occurring. Topping this bill were the headlines touting the bravery of “Senator Booker Releases Secret Kavanaugh Emails In Defiance Of Senate Rules” when in reality those Emails were cleared for public release numerous hours before his defiant claims, but why let a few small facts get in the way of aggrandizing a potential 2020 Presidential nominee making hay while the sun shines. Every word uttered by a Democrat Senator was repeated breathlessly as if coming from Socrates or the Oracle at Delphi. The Republican Senators were either ignored or deemed inconsequential, which if by that they meant not critical enough, they got that one correct. But they had nothing to add to the broadsides launched by their Democrat colleagues. So, now the entire fight appears to be coming down to how a small number of wayward Republican and vulnerable Democrat Senators will vote on the Kavanaugh confirmation. What is a President with questionable influence to do?

 

Well, there is something President Trump could do which would have the Democrats and media, but we repeat ourselves, up in arms and crying foul. All President Trump needs do is ask Senator Graham to table the nomination until January and announce that he will meet the Democrat demand that he wait for the midterm election results before having Kavanaugh confirmed. He can state unequivocally that this election will be about the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh and other people whom he will nominate to judgeships in the future and their right to a fair and impartial hearing based on the facts and not last minute grandstanding and accusations which could have been aired early in the proceedings and been properly vetted instead of all the shrill partisanship we have seen in the past two weeks. President Trump can state that he will allow the people to decide and that he will stand by their decision. This would give President Trump two large pluses for his side. The first is that this would call the Democrats’ bluff and make the election all about Kavanaugh, something the Democrats actually fear despite grandstanding on the demand that the confirmation should be held after the midterm elections. Second, it takes the focal point of the election off of the President and places it instead on the Senate confirmation hearings which would permit both sides to use whatever snippets they believe best depict their side or most color the opposition in a bad light in their campaigns and takes away from what did President Trump Tweet today as the central point. Let’s face it, if you were President Trump and you were looking at a choice between him or Kavanaugh in campaigns about who would you trust, Kavanaugh wins hands down compared to Trump. Besides, it would show that the President trusts the people over the Swamp, as it has properly been labeled plus it would not only take the wind out of the Democrat’s sail, it would expose them further as rejectionist as we can be as sure as we are that the sun will rise tomorrow that there will be the same Democrats out in the media crying that Trump is trying to divert the election from himself onto Kavanaugh and how this is totally unfair as it denies the Democrats of their vote on this important position immediately, as the constitution demands.

 

Remember that these are the same people claiming that the Constitution would favor a longer deliberation even if it took the nomination to beyond the election granting the people a chance to vote on the nomination. Have the vote before the midterms and the Democrats claim that President Trump is rushing the vote due to the coming Blue Wave and push the vote till after the election and President Trump is trying to make the election all about Kavanaugh while ignoring all the other enormous issues which need to be discussed. Talk about damned if you do and damned if you don’t; this is the perfect example of just such a situation. Calling the Democrats’ bluff is the surest means for exposing their duplicity and will be evidence that all they desire is to be seen opposing everything Trump. President Trump would be well served to make a habit out of granting the Democrats exactly what they demand whenever it is guaranteed to have them then take the opposite side and demand that the President not do as they had demanded. There will be numerous times this will present itself as one of the many options and this is one which will also assist with draining the Swamp. This is actually the greatest; some might say sole, saving grace and accomplishment of President Trump’s election thusfar. Trump has opened can after can and jar after jar and emptied the contents of worms and other unseemly things throughout government, the media and the numerous arms and appendages of the government and revealed to anyone paying the slightest attention exactly how rotted to the core the entirety of the Federal Government has become and how the people need to awaken and take back their control and put Washington on a strict diet until the power is back with the States and individual cities, counties and other local governances. This is something citizens of all stripes and parties should be able to agree upon, that the centralization of power in Washington D.C. is an abomination which threatens the freedoms and liberties which Americans have fought, bled and died to protect and are now slipping away with only the slightest amount of time remaining to start to reverse this deadly trend. Some call it the Swamp while others the Deep State, either way it is entrenched and its roots have grown deep.

This should be a people issue where it is favoring empowering each and every person and taking power away from what can only be classified as oligarchs ruling over their individual fiefdoms which has become what the individual Departments and even individual subcommittees which are assigned specific jobs which somehow never reach any conclusion other than their requiring additional funding the next year. This is how the Federal Government has mutated, as it was never intended to act and behave in this manner. The design under that document that many leftists declare old and no longer usable in this modern times, the Constitution, was constructed with care by some of the most progressive and intellectual political minds of the era in concert with, and here is where the critics hit the nail on the head, some rich, established, privileged, unelected, white men whose main objective was to empower the people and, if anything, handicap the central Federal Government such that it would remain a secondary power to the local governments when it came to the lives of the people within the borders of the United States. This concept has been given short shrift as elected officials continued to take power from the states and local governments and move it to Washington D.C. where the bureaucrats eventually got a taste for power and politicians grew lazy allowing the individual agencies to flesh out the applications and consequences of their ideas by passing legislation which assigned the application to render the desired, or undesired, results from a vague concept to various named agencies and too often added, “and any agency which finds applicable use,” to the legislation. This is what spawned a very aggressive growth industry, which found itself capable of taking a single piece of poorly defined legislation and generating hundreds if not thousands of regulations of which many were beyond even the wildest of applications never dreamed of by the Congressional legislators. This gave rise to special departmental groups within departments who were tasked with applying these regulations and who, some many years later, are still in the process of setting up the application and if only they would get a twenty percent increase in funding they might be able to next year only ask for fifteen percent increase with little if any progress to show for it. What is difficult is the solution, something that Congress is want to take the necessary steps towards slimming down the various out of control agencies, which is all of them. The problem is these government projects become income streams to the State and local government through which campaign donors, relatives, friends and people of influence are provided with their payback or investment for their support. This is one of the reasons the same road is repaved every two years taking exactly two years to complete and the connecting roads where the potholes abound are basically ignored or patched on rare occasions after a car fell into a pothole which thought it was a sinkhole. That is simply the most obvious example that most of us have witnessed. Another item is they are always building new bridges or highways and seldom repairing the older ones allowing them to collapse such that a new bridge or roadway is required. There is a reason for this as well. Where you will always see signs dedicating the Senator or Governor What’s-his-face Bridge but never this Bridge Repaired by signs because people get upset when you mess with traffic to repair the bridge but are pleased when the new bridge or roadway is completed and can finally be utilized. Ending spending means people will lose their cozy little jobs somewhere down the line and this is never good for reelection. Reelection counts on additional spending for things which have already passed their use-by-date just because it employs, by then, a few hundred people, and that is worth ten times more votes than saving tax monies. When have you heard somebody campaign with a specific agenda of cutting twenty-five percent of the budget and getting elected? If such a person exists, we are willing to bet they did not deliver or even make a valiant attempt at fulfilling that promise. That is because as soon as they got to their newly elected position, they were taken aside and told how things work.

 

We bet many people would love to know why the government continues to throw good money after bad time and time again. Well, it is easy to find the reasoning. Imagine you had a job, say Congressperson or Senator, and you could invest your money, even up to ten thousand dollars you do not have on trust, into any stocks you desired. I know, so what? Now imagine that you knew that in six weeks Company X was going to receive a ten-billion dollar government contract. Now, you take this knowledge and buy as much of Company X stock as you are able and then one week later after the contract has been voted upon, passed and the public been told via the news, this was big news, the company that before this contract was worth maybe one-hundred-thousand dollars will now greatly expand. Their stock price quadrupled and now you sell your stock and take home a tidy profit. Now let us assume you can do this for a number of years. One would expect at some point you would be charged with insider trading. Well, that is where you would be wrong because the House and Senate saw their way to making the elected figures and the top people in their staff all immune to insider trading laws. That is how a Congresscritter is elected and goes to Washington with maybe a quarter of a million dollars (if that) and after two years is worth fifty million dollars despite their salary being a paltry $174,000. This is the reason that they spend millions of dollars to get elected to Washington D.C. and also why the swamp will be so difficult to drain, the Representatives, Senators, senior staff and friends use these offices as money making ventures at the peoples’ expense.

 

Hopefully, if you are an American, you are fairly upset with this lucrative set up used by your elected representatives to line their own and close by people’s pockets with your money. Well, the first step is to organize a nationwide project to change the way things are done. You first target will be that exemption from insider trading and the appointment of somebody to enforce insider trading laws against elected representatives and their close associates, staff and friends. This might be called the Insider Outing Group which would want 503 C3 tax-exempt non-profit status. Then you need to get 220 Representatives and 61 Senators to sign a pledge to end the insider trading exemption for all involved and currently covered and their dedication to making this stick permanently. Further, you might start petitions in every state to pass legislation calling to amend the Constitution making such acts by all elected representatives and those around them both illegal with Federal prison time and an impeachable offence. Once their money train has dried up, then and only then, they might be persuaded to act honorably and finally actually cut spending and not just cut the rate of increase of spending. That is another slight of hand used by politicians. They take what the budget as planned with a certain increase, often thirty percent, and then cut the increase in half making it fifteen percent and then claim they cut spending fifteen percent. This way they claim a fifteen percent cut in spending while actually increasing spending by fifteen percent. The really deceitful would claim they cut spending in half in that situation because as long as they can convince themselves what they say is true, that is half the battle, as they know the people will rarely check and call them on these lies. The only way to strip Washington D.C. of their free-spending addiction will be to take the personal profit production out of the equation and then one would still need to force discipline on the elected representatives or replace them regularly. There is some truth in the saying that, “elected representatives and diapers need regular changing and for the same reason.” President Trump took a step in the right direction, but may not have gone far enough, when he instituted a policy where for every new regulation instituted, that department was required to nullify two existing regulations.

 

It would have been more productive and might have mattered if he had made it five regulations out for every new one put in. Unfortunately, it will take a form of revolution from the people to bring the government under control. It really is a self-perpetuating and out of control monster and it will eat the country into the poor house. President Eisenhower warned in his farewell address about the need to watch over the Military-Industrial Complex, he should have said Government-Military-Industrial Complex. Just as President Washington warned of the evils of political parties in his prescient farewell address, so was Eisenhower and between them they may have targeted the two main problems the people will face against them taking back their nation. We can only hope that the people of America are capable and able of recovering their lost power and becoming the masters of their destiny as was the hope of the Founding Fathers. One thing we often hear in rumor is that there was a strong affiliation between Biblical Law and how the Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution with often reference to Deuteronomy limiting the wealth of kings in their possessions. We did run across something peculiar from Dr. Andrew Porwancher, a core faculty member of the Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage at the Oklahoma University who has researched Alexander Hamilton going back to his birth and other peculiarities and posits that Mr. Hamilton was Jewish. We will leave that as is and, along with this link, each can assign whatever value they care to on these items. Whatever the beginnings of the American adventure, it has taken ill and is in need of resuscitation and requires that its bleeding of treasure through the deficit spending have a tourniquet applied and have it stopped while there is still hope. The world would become a poorer place without the United States and it would be quite painful to watch as she committed suicide.

The Kavanaugh Circus Came to Town

 

We watched and listened to one day’s worth of the confirmation hearings for Brett Kavanaugh for the position of Justice on the Supreme Court. It was at least a two-ring circus where the two rings were apparently from completely different planets. In one ring they were speaking very cordially with a person they respected and were offering him the time to explain himself and his relationships with others and many of his accomplishments and even the manner and procedures he uses and would use were he to be approved, or even not approved, as then he would return to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. In the other ring, they were burning some evil and demonic half-human beast which had been plaguing man for almost an eternity in order to return it to its rightful level of the underworld. The demands were for this thing before them to admit his evils and confess. They held up big poster-boards delineating their accusations just in case nobody could hear their shrill cries. Some shook papers demanding explanations for the wording, some from back before the new millennia. No context was permitted; just confess to the crimes of using code words in messages sent likely before that was even an issue, let alone a well-worn issue. The difference was so far beyond stark that even our thesaurus was of no assistance in finding the best word.

 

We also watched parts of the confirmation hearing of Brett Kavanaugh for his current position on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. What a difference a mere decade makes. He was confirmed for the position and apparently all they way back in 2006 Justice Brett Kavanaugh was like mother’s milk and kindness for all mankind. Kavanaugh was confirmed by a vote of 57-36 in the U.S. Senate on May 26, 2006, and received commission on May 29, 2006. Fifty-three Republicans and four Democrats voted “yea,” and seven members did not vote. Yes, the vote was still partisan back then, but we have noted something ever since Justice Bork was nominated and pilloried into regretting being born and requesting his nomination be retracted; when a Democrat President nominates a Justice, they are usually confirmed with a fair to large number of Republican Senators voting to confirm but when a Republican President nominates a Justice, they are roasted alive and receive virtually no if a mere few Democrat votes and this has only gotten progressively worse as time passes. We fully expect that Justice Brett Kavanaugh will be approved and are willing to predict that in the final vote, he will receive approximately three Democrat Senator’s votes for appointment, which also is sufficient to cover any recalcitrant Republicans.

The grilling from the Democrat side of the committee was actually frightening and would be sufficient for any rational person who could avoid such to do exactly that and avoid being vindictively accused of every potential criminal act which can be construed no matter the extent to which facts would need be twisted. Brett Kavanaugh was accused of racial bias code words for racial profiling which proved his racist decision for which, and here is the clincher, he wrote the decision for his side’s vote, the actual paper record of this horrifically racist vote. When the other side of the room got their turn, one Senator insisted on making a comment for the record, namely that Judge Brett Kavanaugh wrote the decision for a unanimous decision of three Appellate Court Justices and that one of the three was appointed by President Clinton. But that leads to the basis of the problem which, we must point out, started from the top of the government and spread from there like a virus, a potent and virulent virus, spread across the entirety of the United States and possibly beyond unfortunately even affecting some here in Israel. This is a sad but honest assessment and one we make with regret as Israel can ill afford this split between progressive liberals and the nationalist, religious conservatives.

 

The United States is being ill served by the violence which has resulted from the left and their new cause of the “Resistance” which is their words for their belief that Trump somehow came by the Office of the President through some diabolical, fiendish, nefarious, malicious, criminal conspiracy involving Russian President Putin and possibly a pact with the devil himself. Their faith in the media prediction which claimed Hillary Clinton could not lose the election and two days before the election had a double-digit lead in the popular vote. What amazed people reading the hourly updates on election day was how, starting from the late afternoon and evening before the polls opened, the Hillary Clinton lead began shrinking and got smaller and smaller and by early afternoon on election day it was that she would win but it was somehow turning into an actual race which it was conceivable that Trump could become President. Here is the catch, there were many people, especially outside of the United States, who had taken the temperature of the people in the heartland, you know, flyover country, not the coasts or major cities, and they saw a Truman style win in the cards, you know, Dewey Defeats Truman style win. Those who made up what Hillary Clinton referred to as that ‘Basket of Deplorables’ in one of her off the cuff remarks, one that may have gotten Trump exactly the votes he required. The question many have is why there are so many people still this angry two years almost after the election. We did not see such activity and open hatred for any President before, not even George W. Bush for whom the denotation of suffering from BDS, which then meant Bush Derangement Syndrome, was worn with pride, but pretty much without any vile hatred of the kind we are witnessing now. And, as the “Resistance” is fond of pointing out, there was no such pushback against President Barack Obama because he was universally idolized by all Americans; otherwise, there might have been some form of opposition. The sad news they refuse to believe is there were very many people who were as, if not more, upset about President Obama as there are against Trump. They must have forgotten the Tea Party, though they tried to destroy and mischaracterize it at the time as a bunch of gun nuts and hicks who did not know anything about anything.

 

The problem is not that there is disagreement, that is often good for a democracy or republic. The problem is the differences have become a reason for hatred and the desire to destroy the other side. There have been people who have claimed that when they get power back, and that will come sooner or later, they will hunt down the Trump supporters and place them in reeducation centers so they can be brought to understand the correctness of the arguments and positions of the people who should be in charge because they are superior and their positions are the only morally acceptable positions. Others claim that the Trump supporters are all fascists because they refuse to understand the superiority of the leftist ideology and they have the audacity on insisting that nationalism is not an evil concept. Simply, those who love the United States and who also have firearms are a danger to the future of the world which can only be perfected by destroying the United States and merging it with the world at large. There are those who claim that the United States is what is wrong with the world and that the United States represents racism, classism, nationalism, fascism and is filled with hatred and inappropriate wealth which should be taken from them and distributed to the entire world. That would cure wealth in the United States for about nine months, and then most of that distributed wealth would be right back in the same people’s pockets from which it was removed.

 

We have seen how people are treated in the United States and in Israel. I have had jobs where the company chooses where they located by the price of the building and have witnessed the treatment of the homeless in both countries. There are more government provided shelters in the United States than Israel which makes sense as Israel is nowhere near as wealthy a nation nor near the size (Israel is the size of New Jersey). The difference is what I have witnessed in Israel is an almost universal feeling of caregiving. Many people who are not particularly wealthy themselves give to those most needful. A rare few give to all they come across who are in need, but most everyone has a few people whom they assist at every opportunity. In this manner, none of the homeless are going to starve and with some, the giver sees to it that their money is not spent on drugs or alcohol, or at least do their best to guide the needful off of these destructive tracks. Often I have seen people tell their “friend” in need that they will not give them anything when they smell of alcohol or drugs and only when they have worked themselves to better their lives. The people honestly care and it is contagious. What is even more remarkable is that these homeless individuals often enter a Synagogue and place some of their own money into the collection box, giving their Torah tithe of ten percent. There is no means of computing the amount given to these needful people; but from what we have witnessed, Israel should probably be ranked higher than its current ranking which is in the high thirties or low forties depending on source. The problem is that when this type of disruption such as what has afflicted the United States and has at least reached some media and far left political parties in Europe and Israel, then people harden their sympathies and charity tends to lessen leading to other problems.

 

As if the anger depicted in the hearings for Justice Kavanaugh and some of the spite and hate on social media are not bad enough, the people who broke into the Senate chambers disrupting the hearings by screaming and swearing showed a complete lack of respect and disregard for social niceties while imparting the deepest disrespect to all which actually makes the United States special, the fact that such hearings can prevent a President from placing friends or unqualified people into positions of power and respect. Justice Kavanaugh, though, is a very qualified, decent, honorable man who has a history of deciding cases on the laws as written and not as some people wish they were written, and that is how a nation of laws and not people or man should be adjudicated. About the only decent joke we have heard about the Kavanaugh hearings was a cartoon where the complaint was that Justice Kavanaugh had once left the seat up in the bathroom and for that he should be disqualified. What was the least funny was the report that members of the Senate upon hearing his name repeatedly said that his first name, Brett must mean that he was one of those jock frat boys. Such is plainly disrespectful. It is a shame that that might have been the highlight of the opposition.
