Will America Turn Against Israel?

This question has two very distinct answers. Let us get the simple answer out of the way first. There are a great number of Americans who would never turn against Israel. Many, possibly a majority, of these people are Evangelical Christians. There are also a number of other Christians and traditional American patriots who also support Israel and whose support is virtually unshakeable. There is also a core of Jews, the majority being very religious but includes a sizeable number of Jews who are more Zionist than religious, who will support Israel through thick and thin. There are a small group of very religious Jews who are opposed to Israel for reasons of religious interpretation who would probably support Israel if there were to be a war against the Jewish state if only because of the numbers of Jews who would be endangered. What is surprising is that there exists a number of irreligious Jews who, other than any family members if even them, have no attachment to Israel and should Israel be on the wrong side of their political beliefs, then Israel would be cast aside as irrelevant and possibly seen as evil for opposing their politics. Finally, there some assimilated Jews who are in the far activist left who are fully supportive of the Palestinian Arab narrative and see Israel as the central evil in the modern world. These particular Jews politically are completely consistent with the beliefs of their non-Jewish extreme left travelers. These extreme leftists are mostly found within the Democrat Party as well as the Green Party, American Communist Party and some even in the Libertarian Party. Those extreme leftists who are not members of the Democrat Party would cross party lines to support an extreme leftist candidate from the Democrat Party. This is true for any electoral position from Dog Catcher to President of the United States and every position in-between. This would most definitely include city and county positions through state and include both houses of Congress.

Looking at the last Democrat Party fight over gaining the Party’s choice as Presidential candidate to run against Donald Trump, we saw an interesting fight which became very close and was only decided for Hillary Clinton, the centrist candidate, over Bernie Sanders, the extreme leftist candidate, where Bernie was supported very strongly by the youth from High School seniors and college youth as well as recent graduates under the age of thirty-five or as high as forty-five. These are the recent products of the education system which has become more of a regime of instructing the young on what to think and away from the teaching of how to think. Their math and science teaching has been simplified and even gone to an extreme where every answer will be considered correct as long as you can explain how you reached that answer to the mathematic problem. One of the methods taught now for solving algebraic problems is to guess and continue testing numbers until you find one that works, and that is it. So if the problem is basic as what does X equal if 1+2=X? If you claim that the answer is 4 and when asked why you explain that 1 and + equals 2 and with 2 you get 4, then you would get credit because you explained the way you reached the answer of 4 by assigning + to mean add another 1. The science is not the worst of the education currently being provided in the public schools. They offer no requirement for a civics course or any course which describes the government, how it was described in the Constitution. There is no requirement of American or World History. If you do take a history course it largely will cover the accomplishments of people who were minorities. Here is a simple example from over a decade ago. When my youngest child was attending a newly built school, the students were asked to present names of minority people and one child presented the name of Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, the first Jew appointed to the Supreme Court. The child had that entry rejected because Jews are not a minority. They named the school after Roberto Clemente who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but the school was not even in Pennsylvania. Personally, I find Roberto Clemente as a fine choice as he was an exemplary man both on and off the field of play who was taken from us far too young.

These educational systems new directive of producing little drone humans whose political viewpoints are aligned with the system directive of supporting everything being centered around groups. They no longer give homework and many classes do not have textbooks but instead they work off handouts which the children are required to return to the teacher such that they are never taken home. All projects are assigned for groups to produce the assignment and each group will have two hard working students, two or three who might give a modicum of effort and two or three who will produce absolutely nothing and the entire group gets a group grade and there are no individual grades. This method allows every child to pass when only twenty percent of the students probably learned anything, and they are the students whose parents provide efforts to teach some of the old-school concepts and ways of solving math problems. The new teaching methods also include political opinions injected as part of the lessons even in the sciences. They use word problems which present a single political slant. Socialism is the base system for the best forms of governments. Everything is presented with a leftist slant and this programming indoctrination of the children, particularly the major colleges which are steeped in the alt-left.

Back to Israel as one of the favorite targets of the alt-left just as it has historically been a target of the alt-right. The left itself is tepid towards Israel at best and the far left is completely sold on the Palestinian propaganda because Israel won their last few wars and thus became the mean superpower in the Middle East. The fact is that the Arab World is thousands of times the size of Israel (check the map below). This map shows the Arab World including the twenty-one of twenty-two Arab States with Comoros off the map to the South while Israel is in Blue and has Iran and Turkey outlined in Red who are aligned with the Arabs against Israel. The main reason that Israel is able to survive is that currently the Arab world is torn into numerous camps and is unable to unite. The main focal points of the splits are Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the several terrorist groups especially Hezballah who even has a base in South Americas in the Tri-Border Region. Currently, Iran aligned against Saudi Arabia is one of the main rift lines in the Middle East which has resulted in some interesting possibilities one of which has been the Arab World moving away from the Palestinians finally viewing them as a lost cause and hopelessly incompetent politically as well as being basically a dysfunctional society with no future even were they to replace Israel as they have become too violent and completely tainted and even loathsome. Even Qatar is attempting to distance themselves from the Palestinians who made a tactical error distancing themselves from President Trump, but their dissing President Trump enamored them with the Leftists who find President Trump to be an impostor or impostor who they refuse to accept as their President.

President Trump supports Israel which makes the leftists believe that their position of opposition to Israel as the correct position. Israel has taken the same types of lands in an even smaller piece without oil reserves and has taken their nation, the size (almost) of New Jersey, from a agricultural nation of Kibbutzim, small socialist communities, into a Capitalist engine which is amongst the leaders in technical innovations, medical discoveries, physics research, pharmaceutical inventions and remained one of the leaders in agricultural discoveries such as drip irrigation and many other accomplishments which are helping feed Africa. The fact that Israel has gone from a socialist society towards a more free-enterprise capitalist economy means that they are heading in what the leftists, especially the far left, believe is the wrong direction. It is also the same direction that President Trump is trying to aim the United States which is another reason he just has to be cast as evil. Israel and President Trump work to make their worlds a better place by providing a growing economy where most of the people can find work, if they desire to work, and not having the government support a large sector of the society. The left believes that many people who contribute in a different means to society, like street musicians and dancers, deserve to be supported by the government since what they choose to do does not provide sufficient income. President Trump would rather provide for these people to find work and perform their street acts as their hobby, not as their main contribution. Israel is also moving in that direction.

The left hates Israel largely because they are mean and use their military power to protect themselves. This is a large negative because they see the Palestinians as the underprivileged and people of color, despite they are not actually any different than the rest of the Arab people and the vast majority of the Palestinian Arabs are one or two generations away from their original nation of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and beyond. The Arab nations consist of the entirety of the Middle East and North Africa and have an area and population thousands of times greater than Israel but Israel is considered the bully by the leftists. Why, because the Arab World has invested gazillions of dollars in propaganda and run support in the major colleges and universities casting this as a struggle where Israel used their military might to conquer Palestine in 1948 and further in 1967 wars. Both wars were started by the Arabs with the intent of destroying Israel and murdering every single Jew they would find after they won. Both wars had between five and seven nations against Israel and it was after a third loss in 1973 that the change came and all of a sudden it was no longer a half dozen Arab nations fighting Israel but Israel oppressing the Palestinian Arabs. The problem is there has never been a nation named Palestine so Israel did not conquer it. The Arabs mostly left their homes because their religious leader asked them to leave their homes, as they would be able to take the riches of the Jews once the Arab armies destroyed the cowardly Jews back in 1948 when the Arabs attacked Israel on the first day of its existence. Israel had been promised by the League of Nations after World War I to have the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, all of it, plain and simple. Israel was not a result of the Holocaust as it predates that obscenity of mechanized slaughter and genocide of a people by almost twenty years. The United Nations is also presumably bound to support those borders but since it has become the United Totalitarians Club, thus they too hate Israel. The difficult part is that there are a majority of American Jews who will support the leftist President who will take America and support those who desire to destroy Israel. The other problem they will find out about far too late is that this leader will also be the one who will decide that the United States needs to be rid of those particular people who share this trait, this problem, they are Jewish. These leftists will at some point decide that the Jews are a problem which requires a solution, a final solution. The rising anti-Semitism has been plain to witness if one bothered to watch for it, and it has been growing on the left, the place the Jews said it could never arise. They were wrong and those who hate Israel will eventually turn on their own Jews. And as far as the United States turning against Israel, unfortunately that will come sooner than anybody in either country realizes.

Palestinian Arab Refugees Killed and Injured in Attacks

The Yarmouk Refugee Camp, part of the sprawling Yarmouk general neighborhood, has suffered from attacks during the past week resulting in at least twenty civilians killed and numerous more injured. The attacks were claimed to be addressing the presumed existing jihadists allied with the Islamic State according to reports from “i-24 News Agency” yesterday. The camp serves approximately some two-thousand-five-hundred families who have withstood the consistent attacks. Still, there has been no United Nations emergency meeting over these attacks despite the tragic loss of life and the silence from out of the European Union is also surprising. The European Union and United Nations are often the first to decry the situation when a Palestinian refugee camp is struck by military actions and civilian lives are lost.

On another front, there are still reports of injuries having been inflicted on protesters along the Israel Gaza border. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arrested two armed Palestinians crossing into Israel from southern Gaza Strip illegally earlier this week on April 24, 2018. Further, the death toll from the violent protests on the Gaza Israel border has reached forty as a Gazan died of their wounds also on April 24, 2018. Also, the remains of a Gazan engineer who was killed in Malaysia on Saturday arrived in the Gaza Strip for burial on April 24, 2018. Once again, the United States blocked passage of a call for the Security Council to set up an impartial investigation into the Israeli actions in the Gaza protests and for full explanation for the numerous deaths and injuries suffered by the Gazans, especially considering there have been minimal injuries and no fatalities on the Israeli side. The evidence of disproportional force must be investigated, Hamas leaders have demanded.

These two sets of situations appear to be similar in serious violence and disproportional force used against Palestinian Arabs yet they are treated so completely differently. The first situation where twenty civilians were killed in what was a week of heavy bombing and shelling after the possible chemical attack in nearby Douma on April 11, 2018 take place around Damascus (see map below) and not within Israel thus is of no interest to the international community. The second set of stories concern Gaza which is where the world’s interest is laser focused because there may be opportunities to depict Israel as a monstrous state using disproportional force. Never mind that the attacks in Syria largely affected innocent civilians as the ISIS and other forces left the area and the attacks were largely done to deny the return of these anti-Assad forces, and there was no interest in the use of helicopters dropping bombs on what remains of the Yarmouk refugee camp nor the chemical weapons use in Douma outside of NATO, who used cruise missiles to strike at Syrian and Iranian storehouses and facilities which were utilized in the chemical attack. As long as al-Assad uses simply conventional weapons the world does not care how many of his own people he murders and as long as al-Assad is murdering Arabs and not Alawites, he does not care either nor do Russia and Iran or the United Nations and the Europeans.

But where Israel is utilizing soldiers who are targeting only those attempting to destroy the border fence between Israel and the Hamas ruled enclave of Gaza and, as reported, took two potential terrorists who crossed illegally into custody rather than shoot them and possibly kill them and uses water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets using live ammunition only when a direct threat is posed, each time Israel responds to such a direct threat, even if the individual shot is wounded and not killed, Israel is immediately discussed by the European Union and the Security Council of the United Nations for using disproportional force. There were a couple of slip-ups by media reporters caught in live microphones or during interviews actually asking during the last Gaza War in 2014, why don’t we see more dead Israelis, as if unless an equal number of dead and injured is required of Israel otherwise Israel is guilty of some criminal act. The fact that even in the current Hamas threat coming from out of Gaza, where Gazans are the Hamas weapon of choice, Israel is doing what she has always done, attempt to minimize casualties both for Israel and for Gaza. We can hear some out there asking how can we even try to say such a thing? Let us elucidate.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict was a revamping of an older conflict which the Israelis had to be transmogrified from Israel as the weaker half of the Arab-Israeli conflict where half a billion Arabs were united against six million Jews to six million Jews against the poor, unarmed, oppressed Palestinians. The media loved this new framing of the story and adapted immediately. This provided them a way of describing the victory of the IDF in 1967 Six Day War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War as Israel as the all-powerful IDF against rag-tag Palestinian security forces. Now Israel could be the mean and horrible force and the Arabs were now the distressed and unfortunate victims of those horrible Israelis. To take the next step, we will need to take some steps at looking into the views of the post-modern world. Post-modernism claims that religion no longer has a place in our lives, because there is no Supreme Being as all is defined by science, or soon will be if we just wait a short while. Militarism is evil and any use of force must be questioned and condemned. Racism and colonialism are the past sins that must be atoned and any signs of it remaining in our world must be destroyed unless being performed by people who are viewed as struggling and power deprived during the past, especially if they can be viewed as having suffered from former racism and colonialism. The next ignominious sin is white-privilege. Lastly, there is a need for our liberal and enlightened societies to find some group which can be singled out and who allow us to feel better about our society by pointing our finger at this group and finding all the potential shortcomings in that group and thus they are the actual problem and we are innocent.

Unfortunately for Israel, but she has been chosen to represent that militarist, religious, racist, colonial, oppressive nation which also can be portrayed as having gained from white-privilege and thus the people are unenlightened and must be shamed and carry the full blame for not having entered the great new age of post-modernist society and being so backward and thus revolting. But why Israel, because Israel is the Jew amongst the nations and has been painted through media reporting to be guilty of all the foibles that western society claims to have moved beyond in their enlightenment, except for supporters of President Trump, Israel, the Second Amendment and Republicans who live amongst the enlightened, though in pockets of flyover country. Fortunately, the media is run and populated mostly by those enlightened people of the center such as the supporters of enlightened politics, economic equality, social progressive rationalism, post-modernism, and all the rest of the centrist positions found in the New Yorker Magazine which defines our centrist beliefs as leftist beliefs are the new center. Israel is the familiar target of the enlightened of society as well as of the Islamic society. In both cases, the Jew was the reason for all failures, problems, disease, war, evil, curses and anything else where blame was required to be assigned. In Christian Europe the Jew was the obvious other who was different and often separate and to the Capitalist the Jew was Communist and to the Communist the Jew was the Fascist and to the Fascist the Jew was the Capitalist and in all things the Jew was the one group which did not fit in the rest of society. In Islam, the Jew was a Dhimmi and the chosen hated one and thus the first group to whom one applied blame. For both Islam and Christianity, the Jew was the weak minority who was largely incapable of defending themselves and easy to place blame and either be victim of a pogrom designed to chase them from town or to murder them if caught before they could flee. When disease, crop failure or any other ill befell the community, the Jews were blamed and were made to pay the price.

The world has not become so much more sophisticated, it has simply transferred the blame from the Jew to the Jewish State. The sad part of this situation is that the Jews in the Diaspora are largely found to be politically on the left, what the left defines as the center, and as such, they accept without question that Israel really is as evil and to blame as their fellow leftists claim. Israel is seen as the Western, developed, white country and the Palestinians are the people of color who are poor, weak, unfortunate victims of the Israelis. What is ignored conveniently are the Jews who come from the same MENA* nation states as are called the Arab world. These Jews were chased from their homes under threat of death and often running from pogroms almost always being required to leave their wealth and property behind for which they never received reparations. The Jews who left Europe after World War II for Israel also had lost everything and this was the start of the country of Israel which today is treated as if it came from privilege and financial supremacy, not from modest means and initially socialist collectives known as Kibbutzim and was agrarian economy for the first fifteen to twenty years and from there became the modern and powerful nation far more recently than believed. The fact that Israel has gone from basically a socialist society and has become more capitalist over time until now Israel is unabashedly capitalist. This, to the developed world which has been sliding towards socialism, especially when the leftist parties are in power, is simply one of the worst sins any people can commit.

MENA Nations

MENA Nations

Israel is seen as everything that the developed Western nations are embarrassed over and thus is treated as a pariah amongst the nations. Israel also is held to a different standard than other nations. This is made obvious by our first two paragraphs where al-Assad can murder his people without anyone lifting their voice in complaint, while Israel shoots at people attempting to force their way across the border and cause damage and possibly killing Israelis and the world comes to a screeching halt demanding Israel fall on her own sword. The entirety is an onion whose unpeeling would take more time and pages than anyone would care to read. The truth is that Israel is not the evil pariah that the media paints her for being. She takes measures to preserve even the lives of her enemies to such an extent that a report researched and filed by more military leaders of impressive qualifications states, “Hamas’s strategic concept rests in large part on a deliberate unlawful tactic of embedding its military operations deep within the urban civilian infrastructure of Gaza and drawing the IDF into that territory’s urban centers. Hamas thus exploits the advantages of fighting on pre-prepared urban terrain in addition to exploiting the constraints brought about by the IDF’s strict adherence to the Law of Armed Conflict. Fighting in urban terrain is one of the most complex, dangerous and challenging operations of war.” Additionally, the group concluded, “Israel adheres to the accepted norms and rules that make up the Law of Armed Conflict, including rules embodied in conventions to which Israel is not party, where these form part of customary international law.” We will rest on their expertise and content that as Jews, Israel is in a position which we Jews completely and totally are familiar, understand and feel complete contempt for those asserting such views which we realize is just their own contempt with themselves being projected upon the other, and as Jews we have been the world’s most convenient other throughout history.

Poland Finds Poland the Innocent Victim of Jewish Death Camps

The Polish Holocaust Law is no longer a simple signature away from law; Polish President Andrzej Duda has autographed the legislation making it the law. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has not objected giving the law his silent consent as he invited Israeli journalists so as to be allowed to explain to them how the law was righteous and the Polish completely innocent victims just as were the Jews under the Nazi occupation. What the Israeli journalists ended up witnessing were two simultaneous demonstrations urging Duda to sign the law which some compared to Germany in the 1930’s after Kristallnacht, the night of broken glass when the point of no return was crossed by the German people. The nationalist demonstration was the larger of the two and was punctuated by chants which included rants such as, “Take off (your) kippah (yarmulke in Polish), Sign the law!” “Enough Jewish lies!” “Jews try to rob Poland!” “Stop Jewish aggression in Poland!” Do any of these have a familiar sounding echo to you and remind you of previous times in numbers of places throughout history where the only difference was the name Poland changed to the nation in question? Such were the chants in Nazi Germany, Inquisition Spain, Purified France, Martin Luther’s Germany (not to pick on Germany), the Czar’s Russia, Mousseline’s Italy, Hadrian’s Rome, the Hellenists’ Greece, Pharos’ Egypt, Nebakanezzer’s Babylon, Haman’s Persia and on and on throughout history. Yes, we Jews remember these chants as they have always signaled it was time to grab your bags and get out of town as ignoring such threats has always proved foolish if not deadly.

We are more than willing to grant that many or at least some of those who supported this law are not anti-Semitic and are simply more upset with innocent Poles being tarnished by the Nazis and their horrific history. We wish to be optimistic that the main driving force of this law was to differentiate between the majority of the Polish people during World War II and their Nazi oppressors who victimized numerous Polish who fought against the Nazi presence. The problem arises when we consider the reports of such hateful rhetoric by the majority of the demonstrators and the seeming backing for this law seemingly arising from the anti-Semites. Let us state right up front that we do not believe that the average polish person is an anti-Semite or that any more than a minority hold anti-Semitic beliefs. Where the frightening truth invades our hopes was when referencing the Anti-Defamation League Global Anti-Semitism Survey shows some disturbing numbers for Poland. Their 2015 survey of Poland, the last time a full survey was conducted, shows that Poland has a population of approximately thirty-one-million and of those approximately eleven million hold anti-Semitic feelings which is thirty-seven percent. The survey has a breakdown by gender, age, and the percentages in answers to the survey questions themselves. The highest response was sixty-one percent agreement on the question “Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust.” At the other end, a mere fourteen percent responded agreement with the statement, “Jews are responsible for most of the world’s wars.” The high agreement with the first kind of explains partly the reactions and force behind the new law.

The Polish Holocaust Law outlaws blaming Poland as a nation for Holocaust crimes committed by Nazi Germany. This includes stating that such places as Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, Sobibor, Majdanek, Belzec and Chelmno as well as numerous camps built in Poland so that the prisoners could be worked to death out of the public eye; this policy was called Vernichtung durch Arbeit (annihilation through work), and large numbers of non-Jewish Poles were held in these camps which is one of the facts being pressed during the discussions over the Polish Holocaust Law (see map below). No longer may anyone refer to these camps as being Polish without facing fines and possible imprisonment. Exchanges by two Polish authors on a TV broadcast dealing with the new law were jesting when it was stated, “Jewish death camps” followed by the mocking question asking, “who actually did run the crematoria?” Even presumably joking, such language is beyond the pale. Once these phrases were aired on Poland Television, they were immediately picked up by numerous others, anti-Semites and others who simply believed that these were perfectly harmless jokes as they were permitted to be televised which give things an air of respectability. At the aforementioned nationalist rally, some of the speakers stated, “So my daughter would need to learn in her school that Poles killed Jews in Jedwabne, is not it scandalous?! Jedwabne lies, that baloney!” and “It all is about money. Jews would like to rob us of everything what we has build here after 1945.” and “Those who came here now under the red flags and in Israel’s interest, to attack Polish patriots.” These comments are counter to the records in history. Jedwabne was the location where three-hundred Jewish villagers burned alive by a group of their neighbors in Poland after gathering them in a barn for a meeting in 1941 after the war. These were former residents of Jedwabne who had survived the camps and ghettos and other efforts of the Nazis. Making matters even more serious, Jedwabne was just one as was Kielce Pogrom on July 4, 1946 where over twenty Jews were murdered by a mob which included many officials which became obvious when authorities indicted commander of the Kielce Office of the Security Service, Major Wladyslaw Sobczynski, and the Chief of Police, Colonel Wiktor Kuznicki, as well as his deputy, Major Kazimierz Gwiazdowicz; of the three, only Kuznicki received a one year sentence, while the other two were acquitted. Further information can be found about the Polish cities of Bial, Kielce, Krakow, Lublin, Lodz, Rzeszow and Warsaw in the PDF report “Patterns Of Anti-Jewish Violence In Poland, 1944-1946” by David Engel.

German Exterminations and Work Concentration Camps Located in Poland

German Exterminations and Work Concentration Camps Located in Poland

This law will also make references to these incidents as Polish illegal as the law will be enforced as a means of relegating all of Polish violence against the Jews forbidden speech. Everyone who has ever pointed to the Concentration Camps being in Poland knew and meant that these were built at the insistence of the Nazis, run by the Nazis, and the murdering was committed largely by the Nazis and the Polish were also victims of the war having had their nation invaded from both ends, one by the Nazis and the other by the Communists. This bred a great hatred of both the Nazis and the Communists in the Polish people, something which continued after World War II when Poland came under Communist occupation and rule. The catch is that there were a fair number who blamed the Jews for the Communist takeover of Poland after the war. By this law, making any reference to the location as an identifying characteristic of any of the Nazi Ghettos, Concentrations Camps and Murder Camps will be punishable by fines and even imprisonment. By fiat, the Polish government has made all the locations on the above map located in some alternate universe in a place called “Not Poland” and in this universe; it is evil to claim otherwise. This law applies to all whether polish or visitor. This has already cost Poland the tourism where Israeli high school students were brought to Poland and were given classes and lectures about the horrors of the Holocaust. As of now, references to the Holocaust as happening in these camps on Polish ground would place the teachers in Polish prison. These trips have already been suspended and are unlikely to ever be resumed. One can also bet that a great number of Jews worldwide will now avoid Poland believing it to be anti-Semitic or, at the very least, unwelcoming to Jews. The avoiding of Poland will be strongest amongst the Jews who lost their families in the camps, specifically the camps in Poland.

There is another application of this law which might come to be used in a political manner. The Polish might decide to also apply the law to any political individual who mentions in some way the relationship between Poland and the locations of the Exterminations and Work Concentration Camps and the Ghettos. Such references would more likely be made by Israeli politicians thus should an anti-Israel, anti-Zionist or especially an anti-Semitic leader come to power in Poland, they might attempt to use this law against Israeli politicians who made mention of the camps being located in Poland, and especially if they implied Polish participation in the construction or having turned over Jews to the Nazis and other forms of cooperation. We in Israel are very aware of those in Poland who bravely fought the Nazis and the Righteous Amongst the Nations from Poland who harbored and saved Jewish lives, but we also have painful reminders of those Polish who aided the Nazis in their efforts. Such a use of the law to indict foreigners under this law should they ever step within the borders of Poland will surely result in many deciding that a visit to Poland under any circumstance to unfavorably risky. This law will definitely drive a wedge between Poland and Israel if not others as well. If this law is ever applied to one who referenced Poland and the location of the Nazi camps and the treatment of the Jews, then Poland will become a place which many will find too dangerous to visit. This law will bring Poland only evil and bad times will lay ahead. The politicians who passed this law and President Andrzej Duda along with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will rue their complicity in this law as time passes. This is a dark day for Poland and does nothing to change the facts about the Concentration Camps and the Ghettos forced upon them by the Nazis. Still, there did exist some degree of Polish cooperation with the Nazi occupiers and that cannot be altered by or erased by or otherwise made different or to somehow disappear by passing a law making their mention illegal in Poland. If anything, this law reminds us of an old saying, “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.” which comes from Hamlet by Willian Shakespeare. In this case, we would have to say, The Poles doth protest too much, methinks.
