Is This Radical Israel?

You travel around the universe, especially the universities and other higher education centers, leftist groups, European Human Rights NGOs registered as Israeli, left political parties throughout Europe and even peoples in parts of Asia, Africa and planets beyond where they have never met, seen or known anyone who has known a Jew and you will find anti-Semites often disguising their hatreds as simple disagreements or objections with the Israeli acts. These are where you will hear the horror stories about the IDF destroying schools, Mosques, hospitals, refugee centers and other places where there were only civilians, murdering thousands of innocents. Such was the Jenin massacre where it was claimed at the peak of the accusation to have slaughtered over five-thousand innocent civilians. The United Nations report, after an extensive search, checking their findings and checking them twice, reviewing every angle they could attempting to validate the claims of a slaughter produced a small surprise. Their end report told of less than five hundred total dead and injured and almost every last death was a PLO fighter or IDF soldier and the majority of the civilian deaths resulted from booby-traps being detonated as soon as IDF soldiers walked into the houses to escort the family to safety, triggering the trap. The families, it was discovered, were warned by the PLO fighters that if they attempted to leave the house they would be shot immediately. This was just another example of using the civilians as bait or shields disregarding any value their lives meant to the PLO which was apparently less value than the IDF placed value on these civilian lives.

Wolff Heintschel von Heinegg, a military law expert at European University Viadrina in Frankfurt, Germany wrote about his results in his researching the complaint that the IDF “is setting an unreasonable precedent for other democratic countries of the world who may also be fighting in asymmetric wars against brutal non-state actors who abuse these laws.” Below are three videos of reports made before the United Nations during one of their investigations into the Gaza conflict seeking and eventually authoring a scathing report blaming Israel of disproportional use of force. During reporters coverage of the Gaza War with Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other terrorist groups, the reporters often appeared to be demanding to know why there were so few Israelis, or as one slipped and asked, so few Jews being killed.

But what can a couple of experts possibly know or even understand of the IDF and their proven disproportional use of force where they have always struck back with excessive force. The reporters reporting out of Gaza have seen the areas struck by Israel which were already cleansed of military equipment. The main hospital strike ended up being caused by one of four MLRS system rockets which had gone dreadfully wrong, but why admit their misfire when one can reasonably claim the damage was from an Israeli artillery shell intentionally targeting the hospital. Basically what we are attempting to point out that if one wishes to prove that Israeli IDF troops are well trained, moral, and very conscious as to the legal and moral limitations and demands on a soldier, that is not difficult. On the other hand, should one be attempting to prove the opposite, that too has plenty of allies who can be tracked at any United Nations hearing into a Gaza War or a confab or meeting. The truth as far as we have been capable of ascertaining has been that there are IDF soldiers who act improperly and fail to reach and even surpass all forms of expectations, especially human rights, protection of the innocent and protection of civilians in all manners and abilities. When these soldiers act improperly, they are charged with criminal neglect or worse, tried, and should they be found guilty, sentenced and sent to prison in a special section as a means of protecting their lives. When a soldier is charged with criminal use of force, the sad reality is Israeli leadership is so paranoid that as soon there is a single question about the use of deadly force, the soldier is charged before the investigation has completed; and in a recent case, even before the investigation was launched, he was arrested within hours of the incident in question. These are the examples of the presumed immoral Israeli Defense Force.

Then there are the charges which are plain and simple anti-Semitism as well as anti-Israel concerning special Israeli Defense Forces units which are dispatched to perform search and rescue as well as set up a field hospital often as good if not better than any hospital the nation might have had operating before the disaster. Most people have read about George Exantus from Haiti who danced for a living and lost a leg and was fitted with a special prosthetic which had him back dancing in no time (see below). He was just one of many life-saving, both professionally and literally, which became the best Israeli public relations world-wide. The Israelis were in the Philippines after a devastating typhoon and in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami which blew up one of the nuclear power plants causing enormous problems and recently Nepal after the Everest earthquake. Israel has also assisted over the years in Turkey, Iraq, and other predominantly Muslim nations around the globe. Here again there are those who claim that Israel only sends physicians and a full field hospital setup in order to steal organs, perfectly good organs including but not limited to eyes. Some have claimed these organs are used to assist injured Israelis in need of these body parts while the really fanciful have resurrected the anti-Semitic Golem myth which were conjured or built (see image under of video).

So, the evidence paints the Israeli military as being ethical and despite this being the result of United Nations investigations amongst others, that has not prevented Israel’s detractors from claiming the worst of all possible claims including, but not limited to, genocide, pedophilia, organ harvesting and other equally disgusting and distressing accusations. Israel has been questioned on her claim to being the homeland of the Jews, the descendants of the Hebrews who were led by Moses out of Mizraim (Hebrew for Egypt: מִצְרַיִם/מִצְרָיִם) and by Joshua when crossing the Jordan River. There are claims that special and important Jews worked with the Nazis to rid them of the lesser Jews before they would lead a new kinder, gentler Jew freed from the lesser genes which infected most of the Jews. There have been those who have claimed they will bring a second Holocaust on the Jews while claiming there never was a first Holocaust in Germany during World War II. There are those who denied the crematoria which was why upon visiting the first concentration camp, Commander of the Allies in Europe during World War II General Dwight David Eisenhower ordered his officers in all units in the European Theater, he stated,

. . .the most interesting—although horrible—sight that I encountered during the trip was a visit to a German internment camp near Gotha. The things I saw beggar description.

While I was touring the camp I encountered three men who had been inmates and by one ruse or another had made their escape. I interviewed them through an interpreter. The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick.

In one room, where they were piled up twenty or thirty naked men, killed by starvation, George Patton would not even enter. He said that he would get sick if he did so.

I made the visit deliberately, in order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to “propaganda.”

Were General Eisenhower alive today, I am sure that he would be touring Europe and the rest of the world, wherever Holocaust denial rose its vile head and he would insist on presenting the official evidence which still exists somewhere within the military evidence collected during and immediately after the war. The Concentration Camps horrified General Eisenhower as they did Generals Paton and Bradly and most of the other officers. General Eisenhower desired for as many as possible to witness the horrors and to put their reactions on paper for the official record as this would one day be swept away as an insignificant event or a fictitious invention of the world Jewry. There is always that larger than life “World Jewry,” as if there is a cabal of Jews running the world through means which are as mysterious as they are diabolical. These anti-Semites will claim that there exists a Jewish mafia style group of Jews who lead the rest and plan every major set of events, control the climate, have a base on the far side of the Moon, use smaller ships to reach the Moon Base and Mother Ship, have interstellar ships and that nobody in any government does anything before receiving their orders from this small group which makes up under 0.2% of world population. We may exceed any and all expectations and statistical analysis but this is due to diligence, emphasis on education and a strong work ethic, not to magic or other mysterious mystical trickery. There is no mystery to how and why Jews lead most of professions requiring higher education.

The differences between Hamas and Fatah have been well documented and their 2007 open warfare for the control of Gaza was simply the Super Bowl which had one merciful fact, it lasted just under one week from June 10 to June 15, 2007. The official casualty count was one-hundred-twenty Palestinian combatants and thirty-nine Palestinian civilians and two UN personnel. This was the most famous and heavily reported violence between Palestinian factions though there have been numerous breakouts of violence between different family groups, crime entities, competing terrorist groups and sometimes even violence between individuals. Most of the violence has been ignored by most of the world’s media as reporting on violent disagreements between separate Palestinians would detract from their normally presented angelic image usually used to paint the darlings of the mainstream leftist media. If Israelis had problems anywhere near the level of the animosities often overlooked between Hamas and Fatah it would lead every newscast and top every newspaper in the world. Unfortunately for the mainstream media the animosity between Hamas and Fatah and the charges Hamas levels against the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas has been such that it has demanded coverage from time to time. Just to give an idea of the extent that differences and threats between even Hamas and Fatah and the President of the Palestinian Authority just this past week Mahmoud al-Zahar, an ranking officer with Hamas, leveled challenges to the rule of Mahmoud Abbas calling his continued rule as illegitimate as he has not stood for election and thus Abbas’s term as “president” expired years ago. He further accused Abbas of “treachery” for allowing for security coordination and cooperation with the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). Zahar also equated Abbas’s name as an “embarrassment” to every Palestinian. Zahar also addressed the charge that Hamas was working to form their own Palestinian state in Gaza by presenting that Hamas would not be satisfied with a state in Gaza or in the “West Bank” (Judea and Samaria) as their intent is intent on the complete destruction of Israel. Mahmoud Al-Zahar further stated, “If we succeed in setting up a government in Gaza, autonomy, civil administration or any other framework on a portion of the land of Palestine, that does not mean that we give up on one other grain of Palestine.” Just one week earlier Al-Zahar demanded an end to the Palestinian Authority and explained that the “honeymoon period” was over as was any hope of continuing the “unity government” calling for a return to the “armed struggle.” Of course none of this was reported on the evening news throughout much of the world even including some newscasts in Israel. These little spats cannot be permitted to spoil the view that everything between the factions within the Palestinian Arab families might have even the slightest possibility of hitting a rough spot.

The truth is that rough spots is the norm between Hamas and Fatah or even Hamas and the Arab Palestinian Authority and have been that way since the elections in 2006 when Hamas won the Parliamentary elections and Abbas decided that there was no need for having an election for his spot as the President of the Arab Palestinian Authority as he had just succeeded the Late Yasser Arafat just over eighteen months earlier and extended his term until the next elections in 2009. This problem was the result of the hubris of the United States, surprise, surprise. President George W. Bush and his then Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice insisted that the Palestinian Parliamentary elections of 2006 had to be open to all the parties of the Arab Palestinian Authority, both Fatah and Hamas. Somehow they missed insisting on Islamic Jihad but why quibble over degrees of disasters. Mahmoud Abbas pleaded with President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to reconsider informing that allowing for Hamas to field candidates against Fatah would result in a disaster and a Hamas victory, the only variable was the scale of the disaster. Prime Minister Sharon also demanded that this open election not be pressed as it would all but guarantee a Hamas victory which Israel pressed would be a disaster for Israel, any hopes for peace and might even result in a new war. President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice remained adamant and the rest is history, Hamas won a majority in the Parliament and all elections going forward would end up cancelled after the Gaza War which led to a Hamas government in Gaza and a Fatah controlled Arab Palestinian Authority in Judea and Samaria (West Bank).

There was a new wrinkle this past week when violence flared in Judea and Samaria between different segments of the Arab Palestinian Authority, of different Fatah factions. The latest flare-up has broken out in two locations, Jenin, once the location of a false massacre that to this day is still used to attempt to besmirch the IDF despite the fact that even the United Nations, not exactly the best friend when it comes to defending Israel, investigated the battle and found that for all intents and purposes the casualties were virtually all combatants and the numbers were minimal and nowhere near the numbers claimed by Palestinian spokespersons or numerous international NGOs, and Nablus, historically named Shechem since the times of ancient Israel of nearly three-thousand years ago. Both Jenin and Nablus are within Area A which places them under complete Arab Palestinian Authority control which includes both civil and security. The laws in these two cities and surrounding areas is made by the Arab Palestinian Authority Parliament and is enforced completely by the Arab Palestinian Authority Security Forces personnel. All of this was spelled out and stipulated part and parcel in the 1993 Oslo Accords and was intended to allow the Arabs to prove they were capable of self-rule and managing their own areas, the results of this have been mixed at best. The violence which broke out this week was not a sign that things are going neither well in Jenin nor in Nablus. Let us take the two locations separately.

Jenin has been a powder-keg as the refugee camp there has been the home of numerous different terrorist squads and crime within the camp has been a running problem as the refugees are denied employment and are prime candidates to join terrorist squads or turn to crime as any manner of escape from the camps is highly desirable. The fact that there are Arab Palestinian refugee camps within Judea and Samaria as well as within Gaza is virtually beyond belief. These Arabs are living in what can only be described as government provided apartment buildings similar in design to the government housing in the inner cities in the United States, permanent structures made of concrete forms and fully furnished just as any other apartment building except that these apartment buildings hold Palestinians denoted as refugees living amongst Palestinians in a Palestinian governed area. Should the world decide tomorrow to end the farce which is the Palestinian refugee permanent and festering situation where if either of your parents were refugees then you will grow up as a refugee and your children and their children yet to be born will also be refugees. The violence, which was reported in some news media given the kind of coverage where it was not a leading story, broke out on Friday between members of the Fatah Party, possibly from their “military wing” the al-Aqsa’s Military Brigades, and Arab Palestinian Authority Security Forces, the “military and police forces” of the Arab Palestinian Authority which is made up mostly if not entirely by Fatah members in central Jenin near the refugee camp. This was simply the latest in a series of firefights between the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades forces and the Arab Palestinian Authority forces. One such incident resulted in the Arab Palestinian Authority Security Force Headquarters being engulfed in a hail of bullets where fortunately and miraculously nobody was injured.

The amazing thing is the Fatah and the Arab Palestinian Authority both have Mahmoud Abbas as their leader. Abbas is the Chairman of the Fatah Party and the President of the Arab Palestinian Authority, so this pitted armed men from one side under Mahmoud Abbas shooting and engaged with armed men on the other side under Mahmoud Abbas, and this is a normalcy within their society with its dualities often drawn to separate the so-called refugees from the rest of the population. The next day, Saturday, in the Balata “Refugee Camp” in Nablus, the car of a leading Fatah activists, Fayiz Arafat, was set on fire. Several days before his vehicle was burnt, he was the target of an apparent assassination attempt which the local people placed the blame on the Arab Palestinian Authority Security officers. These shootings have been escalating under the radar for quite some time and only recently have they spilled out of control and thus started to be reported in some reports within the communities, both refugee and normative Arab Palestinians. These outbursts of violence have been escalating with their having been two main sources leading up to these escalations, coup attempts by Hamas and the influx of ISIS supporters starting to form cells which are then seen as rivals leading to their targeting by the long-standing forces from within Fatah, some of which also serve in the Arab Palestinian Authority Security Forces. Last year there was being formed a larger force by Hamas operatives for the purpose of launching a coup against Fatah and taking over the Arab Palestinian Authority in a similar escalation which resulted in Gaza being run by Hamas outside of the Arab Palestinian Authority control and rule. The Hamas growing threat was detected by Israeli forces who arrested the leaders of the cell and the cell collapsed fragmenting without its leadership.

The breakout of firefights between Fatah al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade forces and the Arab Palestinian Authority Security Forces is a surprising development. The supporters of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades forces lay all of the blame for instigating this situation by pressing their efforts against Fatah Activists Fayiz Arafat as part and parcel of their attempts to also take control over the Balata Refugee Camp wresting it from its local control and enforcement by the Fatah forces. This is not as far-fetched as it may at first appear as there has been any number of these situations recently. Some of the violence has occurred before but then mostly as isolated incidents. There was also the arrest and breakup of an ISIS cell in Hevron earlier this month and more such threats promise to appear as ISIS has gained strength by garnering recruits from both Fatah members and Hamas members plus anyone who have lost their faith in the faction’s ability to deliver on its promises of destroying Israel and instead seek out ISIS who have a record of being the stronger force capable of delivering on their promises for actions in place of words though we have seen little reservations. Should these differences continue to fracture the Arab society and place each group at the other groups’ throats with the violence constantly ramping upward becoming more serious, eventually destroying any hopes of the entire Arab community. Turning to ISIS will simply represent the Arab society proving that their intent was never to form their own state but solely to destroy the Jewish State of Israel. Such irreconcilable truth being exhibited will only serve to refute even their most ardent supporters’ claims that their intentions are of a limited nature and not having the complete destruction of Israel as their lifelong goal. Turning to ISIS will signal the end of the ability of even the Europeans and the lunatic fringe extreme leftists from denying the claim that the aims of the Palestinian society is destruction of Israel and not the construction of their own state.

The Prisoners and the Negotiations

The releasing of one-hundred-four terrorist prisoners, many with blood soaked hands from murdering countless Israeli civilians, in four stages will continue next week with the fourth installment. The ire of many in the public is palpable and some of the reactions by the state have many expressing concerns. The protest which was taking place near the Prime Minister’s Jerusalem address was quickly terminated by the police within a few dozen hours and when queries why the rush to break up the demonstration when the demonstrations for releasing terrorists in exchange for Gilad Shalit was permitted to continue for months on end, the answer was basically that those protests were different. In a free state either the people have the right to protest before the Prime Minister’s official residence or they do not have. It cannot be different rules for one group than there are for a different group. That is what equality before the law is all about. Even 11-year-old Roi Fogel, survivor of the Fogel terrorist atrocity in which his parents and three siblings including a few months old infant were slaughtered in their beds, knows enough to question such a release of terrorists. The youth’s uncle, Ben-Yishai told Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Sunday, “My nephew asked why the State of Israel releases terrorists back to Judea and Samaria, when half of them resume terrorist activities? Why do they do it? The 11-year-old child understands what this government does not understand. My nephew really does not understand the government’s decision.” Yet the one person who holds that such a releasing of terrorists is in the interest of Israel is none other than Justice Minister Tzippy Livni who is also the lead negotiator with the Palestinians. This is the same Tzipi Livni who was recently quoted claiming, “I want to see a liberal, Zionist Israel, not a conservative, nationalistic one.” Well, thanks for the honesty.

Then there are the negotiations themselves and the threats which appear can come from any direction as long as their target is Israel. The fact that the Palestinian negotiators and other top Palestinian officials are all predicting the possibility of another intifada should the negotiations fail to meet with their satisfaction and that any result which does not meet their every demand and whim will have them seek recognition and statehood by other means which will also, if such is possible, isolate Israel eventually erasing her and turning all of Israel into their state. Anybody who has followed the whole Oslo Accords rolling disaster is likely not the least bit surprised by the Palestinians negotiating style of negotiations by overt threats. What was somewhat of an unexpected surprise was when United States Secretary of State Kerry threatened Israel in a press meeting he held with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also in attendance with Kerry that should Israel not make all the sacrifices which will become necessary to grant the Palestinians their state then Israel could expect chaos, a Third Intifada and isolation from Europe and the world stage. This is a new form of mediating negotiations, mediation by supporting one side against the other and threatening the other side with open hostilities. Due to this statement one has to question how anything Secretary Kerry might say would be relevant should the Palestinians walk out of the negotiations once all of the one-hundred-four terrorists have been released, as they have claimed is their intentions, and then proceed to assault Israel with a Third Intifada.

Of course any reasonable person might challenge Palestinian Authority Chairman Abbas on his statements concerning the entire Peace Process and the current negotiations. He is among those who have flat out stated that he will allow the negotiations to continue until the last terrorist is released and not one minute longer. He has also claimed that Secretary Kerry has given him a letter that guarantees that he will pressure Israel until they meet every single Palestinian demand, the entire litany of Abbas preconditions. If such is true then it quickly becomes obvious why Secretary Kerry would threaten Israel with isolation, another Intifada, and banishment by Europe if they do not cave to every Palestinian wish. All of the threats and other unbalanced statements coming from Secretary Kerry are reminiscent of the early days of President Obama’s first term when he actually thought up new demands of Israel which even the Palestinians had never had the gall and audacity to demand such as the building freeze and a return to the Green Line with minimal and mutually agreed to swaps which would mean that if the Palestinians refused to any swaps then Israel would be returning to the same boundaries which led to the Six Day War and history would very probably repeat itself.

How long will the fiascos that are the current negotiations going to continue? They will not last long enough for Tzipi Livni to somehow manage to give away the entire store unless she is aided in her quest for peace at any cost by Prime Minister Netanyahu. What are the odds of two Likud Prime Ministers pulling nearly back-to-back disengagements, one being Sharon and Gaza, the other being Netanyahu and Judea and Samaria. It might be prudent, if this has not yet occurred behind closed doors in private, to force a commitment from Prime Minister Netanyahu that he will not surrender the entirety of the so-called West Bank nor will he agree to a partial return of Palestinian refugees beyond fifty-thousand into Israeli property with citizenship being proffered at any future date and that he will not suddenly pull a disaster and announce some agreement which returns Israel to indefensible borders and gives up any eastern buffer zone, especially not the Jordan Valley or the ridgeline of the Judean Hills overlooking the heart of Israel. The pressures which will be forthcoming out of Washington DC, the capital cities of Europe, the European Union and definitely the United Nations will be enormous and the Prime Minister will require fortitude and support of the coalition in withstanding the onslaught. There are very trying times approaching for the little state of Israel; let us hope she really is the little country that could and make it over that hill to live a long life. After all, with the medical discoveries, technical achievements, agricultural methods, scientific revelations and generally great gifts for all humanity which come from that little country, Israel, wouldn’t it be wise and prudent to see to her safety for the benefit of all humanity? Of course it would.
