Rumored Plans Imply Unity Government Imminent

There have been persistent rumblings that Prime Minister Netanyahu was in the late stages of replacing Jewish Home in his coalition with the Zionist Coalition of the Labor Party including Tzipi Livni and one or two of her Party’s members and the Labor Party. Politically this would appear to be a dangerous move as it could also serve to tear Netanyahu’s Likud Party apart with those truly loyal to Netanyahu and what some are referring to as his leftist leanings remaining with him and the nationalists possibly defecting to Jewish Home. Any move by any members of Likud to side with Jewish Home against a merging with Yitzhak Hertzog’s Labor Party risking Netanyahu replacing them with more left leaning, compromise through surrender wing of the Likud Party. For all those claiming that such would not be possible as Netanyahu had to have learned his necessary lesson from Arik Sharon’s forming a coalition of the willing under the banner of his own Party which he called Kadima and was molded carefully to allow for the surrender of Gaza to the Arabs, as a warning that such is political suicide. But on the other hand Prime Minister Netanyahu was a part of the loyalist Likud members who remained in the coalition as a Likud Member up until the very end and thus may have taken an entirely different lesson from the ill-fated Arik Sharon recasting of his ruling coalition without requiring new elections as a potential route to placating those nagging problems from all sides.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has to read the polls and political winds and realize that he is by far the most powerful political inevitability that Israel has witnessed, ranking even higher than Arik Sharon. A recent poll showed Netanyahu’s inevitability for the office of Prime Minister were elections to be held today with his topping every list of potential opponents by safe and unassailable numbers. Such a situation has to make one believe that nothing they could do would damage their position at the top of the heap, especially if such moves were seen as cutting the legs out from under any political threat from the leftist end of the political spectrum. The one consideration not looked into was the potential for a right of Netanyahu political figure rising were Netanyahu to move leftwards and make that unity government everybody claims would be required in order to make the Prime Minister’s position unassailable. Perhaps those taking these polls see Prime Minister Netanyahu as so right wing that there are no politicians in Israel today to the right of Netanyahu. Of course Israelis to the right of Netanyahu could easily argue that point and do so with vigor. What is making these rumors persist has been the adopting by Yitzhak Hertzog of a unified stand against the Iran nuclear agreement standing aside Netanyahu providing him the political cover to take such a strong stand.

The rumor that persists is that Prime Minister Netanyahu remained in Arik Sharon’s government for as long as he did was because he agreed with the whole plan which was never implemented where Gaza being turned over to the Arabs would have been followed within a year of turning over of almost all of Judea and Samaria all in order to forge a seemingly maximalist Palestinian body which Israel could rightfully claim was the definition by all of the borders of an Arab state named Palestine was and should be and by surrendering these lands Israel was unilaterally ending the entire Arab Israeli conflict as if forming an Arab state was the end of any protests and further demands. The reality, something we fear may soon come to fruition, is that by Israel surrendering all the lands that the United Nations, European Union, Russia and even many Arabs consider not only fair but beyond what any Israeli politician could survive relenting for the formation of the demanded Arab state, that Netanyahu would be rewarded with peace and an end to the claims by the Arabs for Israel to surrender more lands and not only would the entirety of the Arab-Israeli conflict be over but Netanyahu would be assured of the next Nobel Peace Prize.

But there is an elephant in the room that apparently has found a place to hide in the open. Mahmoud Abbas has made it adamantly clear that even if granted such borders that doing such would not end the war against Israel. Saeb Erekat has made it just as clear that the only conceivable end to the Arab Israeli problem would be borders replacing Israel with an Arab state whose first acts would be the extermination of the over six-million Jews residing in the Holy Lands and the destruction of every Synagogue and Jewish holy site. Hamas leadership has included all of this plus the eradication of the entirety of the Jewish peoples worldwide. Apparently the sole people who see giving the Arab fanatics exactly what the rest of the world imagines would be a fair and equitable solution ending the problem overlooks the actual problem, this is not a struggle over land but rather a religious struggle over who has a right to live anywhere, not just from the River to the Sea. The Arab-Israeli conflict is but a minute part of the Islamist puzzle and one the majority of the Islamic world could even bother to stop and utter an opinion about as currently there are far larger fish to fry, namely the conquest of Europe. There are refugees to send as the advance shock troops which will further tax the European Union and individual European Governmental ability to pay out the funds which will most certainly be required when these refugees have resided and gained identity cards and decided which country they can receive the greatest amount of benefits for the least amount of effort as many of these refugees were not overly wealthy in Syria or whatever other nation they originated from and view the governments of Europe as potential gift baskets to be tapped for all they are worth. Nowhere in these plans is there a chapter on the Arab-Israeli conflict though there is a diagram in the appendix as seen below defining the areas between Lebanon-Syrian Border and the Egyptian Sinai-Negev border defined as the River to the Sea meaning the Jordan River to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea marked Palestine.

Palestinian Textbook Maps depicting Palestine as replacing Israel, not sharing the land in peace and security as the Europeans and the rest of the West insist to misrepresent

The Arab and Muslim worlds regard the Arab-Israeli conflict as being over; decided and any loud noises from the area must be celebratory gun fire and most certainly not a potential renewed conflict. The problem is that the rest of the world sees the Arab-Israeli conflict as the seminal cause of all evil committed in the world by the powers of Islam. As long as the rest of the world holds Israel responsible for any and all acts of violent extremism from within the Islamic world simply because they have refused to just give away the candy store, the mantra of it’s those Israeli Jews causing the problems because of their selfish demands for defendable borders as the seminal cause of every last injustice and criminal intent in the world. The Arabs and the terror wielding kleptocratic criminal leaders in Ramallah all realize that as long as their war is solely with Israel they can do no wrong and Israel will be blamed for all sins, period. They hold dear to the idea first put forth by Yasser Arafat when he was, as the supposed joke goes, asked by Osama bin Laden (fill in your favorite living evil genius here in place of Osama bin Laden for modern context), ‘How it was that I, Osama bin Laden who has a few paltry attacks while the Arabs under Arafat’s control have been responsible for the murder of near uncountable people worldwide is supported and lavished with honors and given podiums the world over to spit his vitriol?’ To Which Arafat replied, ‘Osama, my dear friend, it is simple. You attack people and take cause against the imperial western governments while I claim to simply wish to take the land from the Jews and murder Israeli Jews. The world supports what it is I plan to accomplish and will forgive my every transgression providing I can frame it all as part of getting the Jews to surrender their nation and once more become the living embodiment of all evil the world desires to heap upon an innocent people and I promise to give them what they want.’

Now we have Mahmoud Abbas, otherwise known as Yasser Arafat without the two day beard growth and with a suit and tie, who is giving the world the same old swan song. Muslim terrorists are gunning innocent civilians in the streets of Paris and countless other tragedies as, London, New York, Madrid, Bali, Mumbai, Beslan, Moscow, Boston and the assassination of Robert Kennedy yet the world blames the Jewish State. Hatred of the Jewish State of Israel is this generation’s anti-Semitic target of choice, and now the Israeli Prime Minister may be planning to fall into the trap of believing that by doing just this one last sacrifice and the world will love him and the Jewish State. Doesn’t he get it that no matter what he does, if it leaves one Jew free to rule themselves then the world will demand they surrender the spot on which they stand and hound them to death every step they take claiming they are moving just to change where the spot is drawn. The blame has to be the Jew’s fault and thus it is the Jewish State’s fault for Paris as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for London as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for Hebdo as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for London, New York as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for Bali, Mumbai, Beslan, Moscow, Boston, the assassination of Robert Kennedy and the Barbary Pirates plundering. It matters not what the latest and greatest tragedy is, the reason always is traced back by those intrepid reporters for the New York Times, BBC, CNN, Fox News, AFP, al Jazeera, AP, Reuters and whomever else is reporting, even Israeli media such as Haaretz; Israel must return to the peace talks even if they are left sitting at the table while the world burns down around them. They must give up other concessions to please and mitigate the great insult which Arafat, Abbas, Erekat or whomever is tasked with sitting that close to the Israeli representative faces and is forced to suffer. As the hot microphone discourse between then French President Sarkozy and United States President Obama went on privately unknowingly with one of their microphones still live;

“I can’t stand him. He’s a liar,” Sarkozy said of Netanyahu.
Obama replied, “You’re tired of him; what about me? I have to deal with him every day.”

Sarkozy and Obama discussing Netanyahu and by so all of Israel

So now it is starting to look as if Netanyahu has finally tripped and is about to fall beyond the cusp and surrender all of Judea and Samaria and half of Jerusalem. He will remove upwards of three-fourths of a million Jews destroying their cities and communities and destroying their livelihoods and dreams. He will claim it is all occupied lands which belong to the Arabs. Netanyahu will claim by making it Arab lands, he will have found the magic bullet to puncture the obsessive vitriol suffered by Israel at the hands of the rest of the world. This, Netanyahu will claim, finished the dream first put forth by Arik Sharon who was struck down before he could accomplish his ingenious plans. Netanyahu will claim to know this because of his bravely standing with Sharon until he didn’t stand with Sharon and now he is completing that which Sharon began and given the Jewish State the legitimacy it deserves and has lacked until this point. Netanyahu will have now given those who took the name Palestinian for its name recognition and power to steal the story of the Jews, the recognition that their claims to all the land are valid as why else would the Jews give up even half of Jerusalem if it were actually their historic Capital city. This, Abbas, Erekat, Rabbo and the rest will claim proves everything they have ever said including from the River to the sea Palestine must be free. When Netanyahu loses the support of Jewish Home Party and one-third of the Likud Party he will simply make a deal with Herzog, which will be blessed by the Supreme Court as Netanyahu surrendered just as they have demanded nearly forever. Of course this new coalition of the willing to surrender to every demand no matter its legitimacy because we must appear reasonable before the world, thus the party name we have chosen is Quisling Party. Is there any sanity left in this world or has everybody gone beyond the cusp?

An Alternate Path to Palestinian Arab Israeli Peace

By now one would think that the world would have realized that the traditional method of forcing negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and Israel were a dead-end making peace unattainable and another route would have been sought. Despite all the claims and blaming of Israel for the failure of these efforts, the truth indicates that it is largely due to Palestinian intransigence and refusals to compromise on even a single item that has doomed all previous efforts. The old tried and failed method of applying pressure on Israel to make ever more grand compromises and concessions only to have the Palestinians to wave all offers aside and claim that there are just a few more concessions they require from Israel before they can make peace will have the same result as have all past attempts of this method. The Palestinians rarely itemize and list their additional demands and they change them making for the appearance of change which is inevitably perceived to imply advancing towards a real and final agreement. Nothing could be further from the truth. Just because the Palestinians choose some different main point to base their rejection upon at each turn does not mean that they have had previous demands satisfied nor does it mean they have moved any closer to reaching a point of agreement. All it is a measurement of is Palestinian refusal to negotiate in good faith and instead to be implementing the standard Arab response to making peace with Israel formed at the Khartoum Conference and known as the “three no’s” which are; no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with Israel. The Palestinians have amended the third point to no successful negotiations with Israel which they view as in keeping with the spirit and underlying themes of the Khartoum Conference.

So, what might produce a way around this impasse? Since it should have become evident that there does not exist any combination of concessions or offers that the Israelis could ever propose that would be acceptable to the Palestinians, why not try to approach the whole peace process from the other side, request that the Palestinians provide terms that they would accept and would be willing to offer Israel and work from that end. Of course this approach would require something that had only been in evidence by its absence up to now, honesty and a rational means of judging and endorsing any offers, expectations and efforts concerning all parties involved. It is not helpful in reaching a peace agreement to always blame Israel for every impasse or collapse of the talks and if any blame is aimed at the Palestinians side, always equivocating and adding reasons that Israeli actions were most likely the real cause simply allows the Palestinian intransigence to become set in stone and unmovable. The honesty would be applied upon receiving the conditions and concessions proposed by the Palestinians of the Israelis, and then having the mediating nation’s representatives review and consider whether or not such terms would be even remotely acceptable if demanded of their country in similar negotiations. This could easily be accomplished by simply asking themselves one question and, the difficult part by all appearances, answer if they would even deem to consider, let alone actually accept, the proposed offer if an adversary were to offer them in a theoretical peace negotiation with their country.

Follows is a partial list of some of the poison pills which the Palestinians might include in their peace proposals, assuming they would even deign to offer anything and not simply demand that Israel be tasked with making the offers as it is far easier to just say no than it is to draw up an agreement at the risk that the other side might accept them and then be stuck with a resolution by their own hand. The most obvious is one they use repeatedly to end negotiations in the past is the “right of return” for over five-million Arab refugees and their descendants some of which three generations removed from the original refugee. One might recognize the term right of return as the exact phrase and system by which Israel by which Jews to return to their native lands of Israel in what is referred to as making Aliyah. This is one of many terms and historical facts about the Jewish heritage and claims to these lands which the Palestinians have woven their own version out of whole cloth and which much of the world accepts blindly knowing full well they are fabrications and a totally false narrative. Another demand which would be difficult to accept would be the redividing of Jerusalem and retuning all of the Old City including all of the Jewish Holy Sites to Palestinian control which would mean that the Temple Mount and the Western Wall would once again be denied visitation for Jews just as was the case when these areas were under Jordanian control. The Jordanians also guaranteed universal religious rights to visit the Holy Sites for Jews and Christians causing the long years of thirst and hunger for visitation rights where people of both faiths suffered with only a few sparse and individual moments where visitation by non-Muslims was ever permitted by Jordan. The Palestinian promises would be equally empty of any true intent to allow non-Muslims rights to visit their holy areas within the lands they control. The surrender of half of Jerusalem with the high probability of losing the capability for visitation to the Temple Mount and other Holy Sites having actually been offered by the Israelis under the deal proffered by Prime Minister Olmert should be a solid indication that Israel is willing to make very serious and even damaging concessions in order to attain a lasting and real peace.

The same was evidenced by the releasing of over seventy-five terrorist murderers and terror planning masters as demanded by the Palestinians during these past negotiations and the sole reason Israel withheld the final release was due to additional demands made by the Palestinians concurrent with threats to blow-up the talks as soon as the final group was released. Almost all of the terrorists released by Israel were serving life sentences or multiple life sentences for their horrific and horrendous acts of murderous terrorism against innocent civilians including women, children, seniors and even in some cases infants. Another demand recently added by the Palestinians about a year ago, which has not received general circulation or even notice, was the rights to hold military exercises with any nation or nations and the hosting of such exercises without any limit on the forces participating as well as unlimited rights to raise and arm a military force to any potential deemed necessary. This demand was expressed as a reaction to the Israeli request that any Palestinian state be demilitarized with their security from any outside attack provided by the Israelis upon any request from the Palestinians. The Palestinians claimed that the sole reason they would require a military and such protection would be from belligerence coming from Israel. Another item which Israel has demanded and been informed by the Palestinians and is completely out of the question is that any agreement be the final and complete end of any disagreements and be considered to end all demands from wither party on the other. The Palestinians demand that they be permitted further grievances and the continued right to continue their resistance to the occupation of the remainder of Palestine. They claim it is their right to continue terror attacks for as long as the state of Israel exists and that they will only end their resistance when all of Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea has been liberated and cleansed of its Jews. This is not a complete list of the grievances perceived and claimed by the Palestinians but should get the point across that the main argument and complaint the Palestinian demand must be addressed is the fact that Israel exists. Placing the onerous responsibility of producing a final and lasting peace agreement on the Palestinians would reveal their complete intransigence, belief in blood libels, and their litany of unappeasable demands which can only be satisfied with the complete eradication of the Jewish State and the casting of Israeli Jews to the corners of the world back into the Diaspora, just as was inflicted by the Romans almost two-thousand years ago and with the identical intent as today’s Palestinians, the annihilation of Judaism as a faith, peoples, and nation from the face of the earth. When this tack also fails and proves absolutely that the Palestinians do not desire peace but the destruction of Israel, then the world must be prepared to accept the One State Solution with the leadership of the Palestinians made to return to their exile as they returned under false pretenses and thus should not be permitted to remain to continue to sew unrest and hatreds.

Secretary of State Kerry Declares War on Israel

Perhaps the best beginning for this report would be to simply quote Secretary of State Kerry in his own words. He declared in an interview with Israeli Channel 2 Television where he warned of “chaos” and a “third intifada” should the “peace talks” with the Palestinian Authority fail. He went into more detail claiming and asking, “Failure of the talks will increase Israel’s isolation in the world. The alternative to getting back to the talks is a potential of chaos. I mean, does Israel want a third intifada?” He continued threatening Israel stating, “I believe that if we do not resolve the issues between Palestinians and Israelis; if we do not find a way to find peace, there will be an increasing isolation of Israel. There will be an increasing campaign of delegitimization of Israel that’s taking place on an international basis. That if we do not resolve the question of the settlements and who lives where and how and what rights they have; if we don’t end the presence of Israeli soldiers perpetually within the West Bank, then there will be an increasing feeling that if we cannot get peace with a leadership that is committed to nonviolence, you may wind up with leadership that is committed to violence.” These threatening words came despite Secretary Kerry claiming that he has made “significant progress” in the last 24 hours. Kerry finished the day by telling reporters in Amman, Jordan after meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, “We made significant progress in our discussions about a couple of areas of concern in the panorama of the concerns we have.” Secretary Kerry’s final words were, “It is important for us to be able to proceed carefully and quietly.”

The change in his tone at the end of the day makes one wonder why he decided to use such threatening tones and language when speaking to Israelis on his interview on Israeli television yet spoke soothing words in Jordan where his comments would most certainly reach the Palestinian people. Could it be that the White House has decided that Israel is at fault for any lack of progress and that the Palestinians have done everything in their power to make peace possible? Does President Obama really believe the accusations coming from the Palestinian leadership that Israel with their settlements has made making peace impossible and that the Palestinians are the true seekers of peace while Israel which has made countless concession over the years while receiving only violence, death, terrorist bombings, rocket attacks, rock attacks on their highways and paid a price in blood beyond measure in the search for peace are standing in the way of reaching a peaceful settlement? Israel returned the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula for peace, offered the entirety of Samaria and Judea to Jordan for peace but Jordan released their claims to these lands remitting them to Israel only to change that pledge years later at the urgings of Yasser Arafat and the Arab League pledging the historic heartland of the original Hebrews lands which made up the kingdoms of Israel and Judea long before the ideas of Christianity or Islam had broken forth onto the arena of Earthly religions. Israel has sacrificed blood and land for peace and would move everything and anything necessary within reason for a true and lasting peace. The Palestinians, on the other hand, demand that whatever peace they agree to with Israel will be temporary as they insist that they retain the right to continue their resistance until the entirety of their lands are liberated and Israel has been erased and supplanted by Palestine and the Jews have been removed be it by being exiled from their homelands yet another time or simply slaughtered in a frenzy of jubilation at the eradication of Israel as anything other than purely Muslim Arab lands. Those are the truths the world ignores time and time again.

Some have asked why such obvious truths are ignored but the answer is not all that difficult to discern. That truth is that the world is aware that Israel is willing and has and will continue to make sacrifices in the name of peace no matter how absurd or hurtful those sacrifices may be while the Palestinians when pushed to make any concession for peace claim that as a bereaved people they must never be imposed upon and should such insane request be pursued any further they threaten violence which they will commit whether they are pressured or left to their own devices. The world realizes that the Israelis act as a civilized nation while the Palestinians destroy even those things gifted them in order to allow for their economic betterment. Such was the case with the greenhouses in Gaza which were immediately torn apart when Israel donated them in order to provide a ready and operating business to aid the Palestinians and instead made into rocket launchers and rockets with which to fire into Israel in attempts to murder civilians or whomever was unfortunate enough to be where these explosive projectiles struck ground. The world is aware that the Palestinians have utilized ambulances to move terrorists into positions to launch ambushes and also to move equipment and armaments with which to attack Israelis but nobody cares to pursue justice. On the other side, whenever the Palestinians cry that the Israelis have destroyed their olive trees or invaded the sanctity of their al-Aqsa Mosque, which entails any Jew being permitted to enter onto the Temple Mount, the world rushes to denounce Israel and do whatever the Palestinians demand as retribution to assuage their hurt feelings. That sometimes appears to be the only foreign policy that many European parliamentarians and politicians are able to pursue such and lately appears to have further infected the White House.

President Obama has often claimed to be the best friend that Israel has ever had in the White House. If the words spoken today by Secretary of State Kerry are indicative of the feelings and policies coming from President Obama and the White House, then please stop being Israel’s best friend and simply try to be an honest broker seeking a true and honest peace. I realize that seeking anything honestly may be a new experience for President Obama as he appears to have some difficulty with the truth. President Obama is especially talented at knowing nothing, much like Sgt. Shultz from Hogan’s Heroes. What many may not know about the gentleman who played the part of Sgt. Shultz, John Banner, is he spent part of World War II in Auschwitz as he was Jewish and somehow managed to survive, a miracle in and of itself.  But back to the serious subject at hand, what exactly is it that President Obama honestly wishes Israel to do concerning the Palestinians. We all heard his early first term demands that Israel return back behind the Green Line, that Israel freeze all building beyond the Green Line even including Eastern Jerusalem, for Israel to release terrorists in order to make an offer towards peace that the Palestinians would understand, and then there were the multiple insults against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu which included but were not limited to making Netanyahu enter and leave the White House by a side entrance instead of using the customary front entrance as virtually every visitor, refusing to hold a joint press appearance as is customary for heads of state after meeting with the President in the White House or anywhere else, deserting him to have dinner with his family and not only not inviting Netanyahu to join them but instructing him to consult with his aides and let the President know when they had decided to meet the demands President Obama had laid out which are unknown but were likely the same as those being demanded by Palestinian Authority Chairman Abbas, refusing to meet with Netanyahu in New York when both were there for the opening ceremonies for the United Nations General Assembly though President Obama did have enough time to spend close to an hour with the hosts of the television show “The View” which was being filmed in New York at the same time and finally President Obama when visited by Israeli President Peres, probably the one person in Israel who might actually agree with the views of President Obama, he met him in the Blair House across the street from the White House instead of in the White House as is customary. Other than these and numerous other statements and actions by President Obama and many within his administration, President Obama might have actually slipped a few kind remarks in about Israel in order to appease some audience. There was the famous line during the campaign where Senator Obama speaking to the AIPAC convention claimed that Jerusalem would remain the undivided capital of Israel; a statement that he backed away from and then completely contradicted numerous times going forward starting within hours of making the statement. One can basically figure that if President Obama or most of those in his administration speak kindly and in favor of Israel they are either making a grievous mistake or are on some mind altering drugs, but one can be assured they do not actually mean those statements.
