Why Begrudge Us this Little Haven

One thing history has taught is that even when the Jewish People come to a nation at its behest and help to modernize that nation, with time everything which went or will ever go wrong is heaped upon us along with the vile degradations and then the threats to our lives. This has occurred throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. It has happened across South and Central America, Russia and has even come to parts of Asia despite there being next to nothing resembling a large Jewish population. It has come to the United States and Canada, though in a less obvious measure, and thus has largely been swept under the carpet, for now. There was the infamous General Order No. 11 (1862) given by Major-General Ulysses S. Grant of December 17, 1862, during the American Civil War which ordered the expulsion of all Jews in his military district comprising areas of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky. The claim came that he was attacking the Black Markey in the region which he just knew had to be a Jewish operation. Yes, President Lincoln immediately rescinded the order, but the days or weeks or whatever it took to have the order received in Washington DC and then be removed, brought to the attention of the President, the rescinding order written and that sent back to General Grant and then the slow, probably intentionally slow, implementation walking back the original orders, well, as you might suspect the time that took proved detrimental to a good number of Jews of the region. Grant’s General Order No. 11 is noteworthy in that it depicts the tainting of one’s logical thought processes by the disease of anti-Semitism. An individual or group suffering this ailment automatically associates everything nefarious, underhanded, evil or illegal immediately into some Jew plot and more often than not, for monetary gain. Proof, with anti-Semitism your proof is very simple; it is the Jews, what else could one suspect. This has been repeated throughout human history for as long as the Jews have existed, which is pretty much throughout human history. It has happened in every form from the framing of Alfred Dreyfus by the elites of the French Army to cover their own perfidy, to Hitler, to Pharaoh of Egypt, to the Tsars of Russia, to the Spanish Inquisition, to Muhammad and the Jews of Medina and on and on. One can only conclude that eventually, every group will desire to disassociate themselves from the Jews and then cast them off by exile, murder or even attempting genocidally wiping them from the Earth as Hamas, Iran and others in today’s world proudly declare.

Any normative peoples would have decided that, as a rule, they were less than desirable and would have separated from the rest of humanity long ago. We were not even permitted this as the world knew from exactly which little piece of lands we originate. They all knew exactly where we would have gladly moved, at least the majority of us, and made a go of it in a land half desert and half swamp with large boulders strewn throughout the swamps and hilly lands. It was carefully laid out in many languages all from the claimed original Greek copy of texts presumed to have been compiled during the Babylonian Exile, our third as a people with the Egyptian Exile chronicled in that book and the Assyria Exile chronicled in later books which took Ten of the Tribes and they became the Ten Lost Tribes, some of whom are returning in this modern era. Actually, most nations have chronicled parts of our history as you wrote them into your laws and were proud of your acts. Christian, Muslim, it made little if any difference and both blame that the other was worse to the Jewish People and they only did that which was absolutely necessary and needed. Jerusalem destroyed and Israel broken in exile would provide for needed introspection and broadened experience eventually spreading Jews throughout the world and assuring their survival, even if often under hardships. Even Muslim amongst Muslim and Christian amongst Christian, each would finger point to those who were more to blame, and when torture and murder are the acts of the day and you are the target, it matters little who was worse and who was better, you were all barbarous when it came to the Jewish People. True, not always and some even claimed to have mended their ways, for now, because we have learned that our acceptance is always temporary and depends on times being good and nothing going wrong, and even then, ours is a precarious perch.

Jerusalem Destroyed and Israel Broken in Exile

Jerusalem Destroyed and Israel Broken in Exile

When a people live always waiting for the other shoe to drop, they get nervous and react in various ways. Some become differential and make themselves small. A few make them selves threatening ready to take on even the most insignificant slight. Some become conspiracy conscious seeing malice behind every door. Some become the jolly joker in attempts to endear themselves. Most just work hard, work quiet, are industrious, avoid standing apart, are agreeable to a fault and become a form of every-man where they have no identity and allow others to assign whatever identity they prefer. These are all forms of defensiveness and are mechanisms one adopts to cope. All rob one of their real identities which they mask behind their façade. This also results in a people to become very adept at any profession and often they will excel at what in the early days was a disreputable means of making one’s living and eventually became the mainstay of economies. Such an example is what was forced upon the Jews in Medieval Europe and the Islamic worlds, money-lending. That practice which was denied to the religious but so necessary for commerce and running a nation became the forerunner of the banking industry of today which now it is claimed the Jews took over through devious means. The devious means was having it thrust upon us by those who would not soil their hands or reputations but had no problem soiling our hands and reputations as we had no reputations of note and who cared about the Jew lending money, the most dishonorable of affairs. We were denied wealth and title and thus denied ownership of land so we became tailors, cobblers, smiths and these led to the other more specialized trades with time. We were the People of the Book and also people of books as we, as a people, were literate and taught our young to read and write at an early age. They were required first to learn Hebrew so they could pray, and also Arabic or Aramaic to read the early commentaries. Then we taught them the language of the nation in which we resided, and the then might learn the language of the land from where Grandfathers were chased. This led to the Jewish People become international merchants and known for learning languages easily. This led to Jews running import-export businesses and large retail networks and now on-line shopping. This from the little tailor’s shop where the spectacled little man sewed for a living five-hundred years ago and now it is Levi-Straus because he saw the need for a well made and rugged work pants for the men on the railroads and in the mines and on the plains. But even these reputed giants will shrink when the pogroms come. They will be forced to flee, yes, eventually even from the United States and many can see that approaching already, others refuse to see, some always refuse to see.

Give us a safe space of what had been determined to be lands worthless to nearly everybody else, well, until the late nineteenth century. Read about Israel circa the mid nineteenth century in Mark Twain’s “Letters from the Holy Lands”, a sub-part of his Travels Abroad writings. Twain describes a barren land where people are as sparse as is the vegetation. Others writing for the British after World War I describe Malaria and an inhospitable place. Twain describes the few Arabs and Jews he met and claimed one could more often than not differentiate between the two people simply by observing their level of industriousness. The British Home Office described what they saw and often they saw that it was far easier to throw the Jews out of their homes and dispossess them than it was to fire one shot into the air from a sidearm to break-up an Arab riot. One might conclude that many British sought any reason to try to dispossess the Jews of these lands, often just for spite. The French sent most of their Jews from their Mandate to the British Mandate, as they had no need or claim to need the Jews. The French formed two states, Syria for the Arabs and Lebanon for the Christians, though that was not the final word on the matter as the Arabs had their own ides, Syria for the Arabs and Lebanon for the Arabs. The Arabs won and the Christians are continuing to flee from Lebanon when they are able. The British did all they could to try and prevent the Jews from ever forming their state of Israel but the Jews are sometimes an insistent group. The British formed Jordan for the Arabs and placed as many Arabs as they believed would prevent any Jewish state, but they miscalculated as the Mufti of Jerusalem called for the Muslims to leave Israel so the invading Arab armies from six nations and additional militias could simply cleanse the lands of every person they met. The Mufti promised them they could then enrich themselves on the spoils of the Jews. That was the Arab plan, destroy Israel and it too would be for the Arabs, but something went wrong. Those Jews who were often claimed to have no stomach for a fight or to be timid little people rose to be giants and Israel survived that onslaught.

The world, that of Christians and Muslims, have been working politically for another rerun of the Arabs supposedly slaughtering the Jews of Israel ever since them. There was the Six Day War in June 1967, the Yom Kippur War of October 1973 and a long and slow terror war since the first day of May 15, 1948. There have been numerous means of attempting to gift a state to the Arabs within the legal limits of the Jewish state with the Arabs always holding out for the entirety to be gifted them with the Jews on a platter. We would gladly make a deal with the world, if only they would take it. Give us the region promised with the Jordan River as our eastern border, the Golan Heights in the northeast, and the remainder as it is set in treaties and the United Nations set borders. We will be friendly and those Arabs who wish us harm, well, cannot have them around within our borders, so we will give them to whomever is willing to harbor them. Those who desire to remain we will grant resident alien and allow them to rule their own areas while we retain the lands as part of our state. As legal resident aliens, they will not be permitted votes in our national elections. This has functioned thusfar with the Arabs in Eastern Jerusalem. We will not tolerate terrorism or attacks upon our people of any kind, Jew on Arab or Arab on Jew or intra-fraternal violence. We will share our developments, discoveries, inventions, programming marvels, agricultural inventiveness, crop breeds, advances in medicines, new drugs and all the other beneficial items. The byword will be permit and assist us to living in peace and we will be the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg. You do remember that cutting open the goose led to discovering that it was simply a magical goose, that once killed, it could only be stuffed, roasted and served when it reached a nice golden brown, but no longer would there be golden eggs. Remember that tale, as we can be that goose for the world as it is what we were to strive to become, and we are prepared to give it our best shot. It really would be to everyone’s advantage if we were left in peace on our little plot of lands which one requires a magnifying glass to even find us on the average globe, providing one even knows where to look. But, apparently, even this is too much for much of the world to accept, proof we really have not come anywhere near as far as some claim, and that is truly sad. Hopefully, you will not be all that put out if we hold on to this little piece of land while we await you realizing the benefits of our offer. Call us.

The Death of “Never Again”

After the Shoah, the Holocaust, the Jewish People made a promise to one another of, “Never Again.” The world echoed the call, “Never Again.” Most notably, Europe and particularly Germany echoed the call, “Never Again.” Now the world stands at the brink which they will break their promise of, “Never Again.” One need merely search the news to see the ever-increasing rate of attacks upon Jews simply because they are Jews. European leaders speak of their increased efforts to address anti-Semitism after each attack. France has placed military personnel to guard Jewish daycares, preschools, education centers, Synagogues and events throughout France. Britain and Germany have declared they are taking steps to fight against anti-Semitism with Germany appointing Dr. Felix Klein to take charge of the efforts at education and other means of fighting anti-Semitism. Dr. Klein will take his position sometime this month. There have been warnings sent initially through delicate warnings requesting that Jews not affix Mezuzahs on their doors as such identifiers upon their homes could make them targets. This proved to be insufficient; so then, they made the next demand less delicately advising Jews to stop wearing their Kippahs. For some Jews, that proved a demand too far as they refused to uncover their heads. This meant that they had to limit their lives by remaining only in what they thought to be “safe areas,” some of which proved not to be sufficiently safe.

Never Again!

For Jews these events, though difficult, are not something new to the Jewish People as we can look back across our history and find all too numerous similarities with which to compare these events. During the Spanish Inquisition the Jews were forced to convert to Christianity, but some refused to forsake their traditional religion and practiced Judaism in silence and well-concealed in order to avoid detection and a tortured and horrible end. These Jews were to become known as Marranos. Throughout the world, there are instances where the Jews were forced to profess faith in other religions while conforming to their Judaism privately and in complete secrecy. Sometimes these Jews would form groups with ten men so they could have a minyan making their prayers more complete as some prayers require ten men in order to perform and reading of Torah also requires a minyan. This would obviously cause these members to be more readily caught by the authorities but they believed that on certain holy days the risk was worth the reward they would receive from being able to perform a complete service with a Torah reading making it all the more satisfying. These conditions of forced conversions and secretive practice of their Judaism were more universal than many historians have recorded both in Christian and Islamic world and before either when the Jews resided under foreign exile or occupation including the Roman, Greek, Persian and Babylonian to name a few. \

“Never Again” was intended to mean that the Jewish People were never to be made embarrassed, harassed or intimidated into hiding their Judaism as a requirement for their safety. Never Again was supposed to provide a conscience in the world such that after thirty-five-hundred-years Jews would finally be safe within the world. Israel took in the approximate million Jews who were forced from the Arab and Muslim world providing them with assured safety from the anti-Semitism which has never been purged from the Islamic world or from the Quran and the preaching of Imams. Now there is rising anti-Semitism, both from Islamic refugees, extreme right wing anti-Semitism and leftist anti-Semitism are combining making the roughly one and a half million Jews of Europe becoming endangered. They have a refuge they can take in Israel and increasing numbers have begun to do exactly that. There are also troubling signs across the Atlantic Ocean in the United States and Canada which are also at the very leading edge of increasing anti-Semitism. The problem is far from as obvious as it is in Europe, but it has become troubling to those who follow such trends as they are witnessing the same numbers as were present in Europe starting about three decades past.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has released a worldwide survey of the state of anti-Semitism in 2014 with a partial update showing anti-Semitism in 2015 in easily seen maps and tables. There is even a page where one can compare nation to nation using it to see where your country stands compared to others or any other comparison one would care to see. The one problem with the ADL surveys are they have rapidly become dated as a measure where Europe and even the United States and Canada are concerned, as the increases in these areas of the developed world have been quite distressing. Of course, we cannot expect that the ADL will be performing another survey in the near future, though we would love for them to do so for 2020 and make it as easily accessed as their 2014 and 2015 versions have been made. The ADL might refrain from doing such as they likely would be hesitant to actually recognize exactly how sad the situation is becoming. What is really sad is how fast Germany and the nations which were willing, or somewhat less than willingly, under the rule of the Third Reich have fallen back so severely despite their joining in the concept of “Never Again” and have permitted the pernicious hatred that is anti-Semitism returning in such strength, especially with the youth of today. Where did the leadership go wrong and divert from the path returning to their old hatreds and habits including anti-Semitism. Perhaps we should try and suggest some reasons.

Perhaps the greatest mishandling of the problem has been the selling of the concept of “Never Again” as the answer to prevent the singular event of the Shoah, the Holocaust, of ever reoccurring. “Never Again” is not an answer to just the Shoah but to every attempt through the ages to kill off the Jewish People. These attempts began in Egypt over thirty-five-hundred-years ago and continued through with, but not limited to, the Persians, Greeks, Romans, Spanish Inquisition, the Caliphate and the Nazis. They have not taught that the Jewish People and their rules and codes became some of the founding principles of the current European and modern world governance. Much of human rights are based on the Judeo-Christian ethics which are all based in Jewish thought. Continued Jewish thought and culture continued to add to the humanity of man and to the sciences, culture, society and every aspect of human existence. There has been almost no mention of how much poorer humanity would be without what the Jews have contributed to all aspects of human existence. Even boxing would have been lees the art it has become in sports without the contribution of a Jewish man called Daniel Mendoza. He was credited with introducing the scientific art of boxing. Then there are the somewhat more famous and well-known Jews such as Sigmund Freud, Niels Bohr, Baruch de Spinoza, Albert Einstein, Sandy Koufax, Groucho Marx, Gene Simmons, Franz Kafka, Peter Sellers, Joan Rivers, Marc Chagall, George Gershwin, Jonas Salk, Albert Sabin, Hank Greenberg, Max Baer, Benny Leonard, Lyle Alzado, Jerry Lewis, Danny Kaye and Dr. Ruth Westheimer. We could continue with a long list of scientists, entertainers, musicians, artists, philosophers, comediennes and religious scholars.

Perhaps a lesson in middle school where the contributions of Jews throughout history to virtually every field of endeavor would make an impression, especially with lists of Jews in such fields as music, sports, entertainment and other fields with which Jews are not always associated. Also showcasing the contributions throughout history where they often made contributions which are not well known today such as Haym Salomon who was a Polish-born American Jewish businessman and personally backed loans from France to finance the American Revolution from which he ended up bankrupt. And, of course, there is the reality that without Judaism there would be no Christianity or Islam as both trace back to Judaism as their roots and being Abrahamic faiths. These ideas would not eradicate anti-Semitism, but perhaps a realization that the Jewish People have contributed quite a great deal to humanity throughout the ages in virtually every field of endeavor might give some pause to reconsider their opinion of Jews. Anti-Semitism will never completely disappear, as there are records of anti-Semitism existing in towns, villages and even cities where people have never met a Jew and some where no Jew has ever been recorded to have lived. But if we can change some people’s thoughts on the Jewish People and as much of anti-Semitism is handed down within families, neighborhoods, societal norms and other means, every person turned from anti-Semitism could have an ever-widening effect over time. If nothing is done, what will the world be like once every nation has rid themselves of their Jews and Jews only reside in Israel? Oddly enough, even then the world will have its share of anti-Semitism and there will be efforts to destroy Israel if only to be rid of the imagined effect the Jews have on life around the globe. How can we know this? Well, because anti-Semitism has existed in places around the world before the Jewish People had been spread around the world by conquering empires with the best known being the Roman dispersion intended to wipe out Judaism from the world as punishment for revolting against Roman rule just a little too efficiently. It is that exile which the Jewish People are finally returning home to Israel after almost two-thousand-years.

Secondary Effect of Israeli Founding and Other Truths

Let us first speak about the misconception that Israel was founded by Europeans as an apology for the Shoah, the Holocaust. The idea and beginning of the Mandate given the British to establish the Jewish State began during World War I and was part of a series of peoples returning to their ancient homelands. The Arabs had been promised lands and numerous tribal leaders were promised to have the rule over lands and there were promises to many Balkan nations and across the entirety of the MENA States.* These regions were divided up and were to be established by different nations who were amongst the victors of World War I. The nations from Europe established colonial governments which tied these nations to their European nation and were eventually granted independence and Israel was amongst those nations declaring their independence mostly after World War II (see map below). Surrounding Israel, who declared their independence on May 15, 1948, we have other nations who also declared independence with Jordan in 1946, Lebanon in 1946, Syria in 1946, Egypt in 1922, Saudi Arabia in 1932 and Iraq in 1930. Looking at the map, we see there were other MENA States whose independence was after Israel such as Libya in 1951, Yemen in 1967, Algeria in 1962, as well as Bahrain, UAE, and Qatar all in 1971. So, Israel declared her independence in the second wave but there was a third wave which came much later with all having reached independence by 1975 with Iran having gone from the Pahlavi Dynasty which was Persian rule to the Mullahs which is Islamic Theology in a coup which occurred in 1979. Iran was never held as a colony by the Europeans as they did not take part in World War I and were never subdued and conquered by the Ottoman Empire.

Dates that the MENA nations received their independence after colonial rule many since the times of the Persians or even earlier

Dates that the MENA nations received their independence after colonial rule many since the times of the Persians or even earlier

There is another map of the MENA States which shows a different reality which many either have never known about or have ignored as it breaks with their preferred notion of Israel as a purely European peopled nation with none living in Israel from outside Europe and North America. That is a falsehood which need be eradicated from the conversation of the Arab-Israeli conflict and the realities. The reality was that by 1960 the population percentage of Jews expelled from Arab nations made up between thirty-five to forty percent of the Jewish population in Israel. As time has continued, with the Aliyah of the Ethiopian Jews brought to Israel in three operations named Moses, Joshua and Solomon, and the Aliyah of the Bnai Menashe from India, the numbers of non-European Jews has reached close to fifty percent if not over half. Further, there has been a fair amount of mixing through marriage with Ashkenazi Jews and Sephardi Jews as well as Mizrahim, Bene Israel, Bnei Menashe, Cochin Jews, Bene Ephraim, Ethiopians, Yemeni, and other even smaller populations all within Israel with others coming from places which stretch the imagination even to include from Japan, China and the Philippines. The world must disabuse themselves of the misconception that Israel is simply a place where the European Jews fled and are still fleeing from Europe, Russia, North America and the Ukraine. The Jews from many Arab nations across the width and breadth of the MENA Nations did not flee; they were expelled by threats, pogroms, expulsion where they were forced from their homes which they had held for some thousands of years and most many hundreds of years. They were denied taking their wealth and their businesses were left to be spoils for the Arabs as well as their homes, farms, herds, jewelry, money and anything else of any worth. They often were allowed one suitcase each which were searched and anything within the searcher desired, they took. These Jews landed in Israel next to destitute with their skills and nothing more. Israel in the 1950’s was not the economic powerhouse she is today; she was a farming economy which did not even have sufficient housing for these over half a million Jews. These Jews were refugees which outnumbered the Arabs displaced during the 1948-9 attempt by six Arab armies to destroy Israel in her cradle. The difference is the Arabs placed their brothers and sisters displaced by their war to annihilate Israel that failed, though they did take control of Gaza and regions of Judea and Samaria which Jordan renamed West Bank, placed them into camps and refused to permit them to work, own land, vote, have citizenship or anything resembling a normal life while the Jews who were expelled and came to Israel were given homes and accepted into Israeli society and treated as any normal society treats their kinfolk. That is why there are Palestinian refugees and not MENA Jewish refugees also in equal numbers in camps. If the Arabs would treat their brothers and sisters as family as Israel did their refugees, there would be no problem. But the Arabs demand that there be a problem and that Israel is to blame, refusing to accept any responsibility themselves.

Jews forced from Arab World Between 1948 and 1972

Still, the constant BIG LIE is told over and over and over until the world has come to believe and repeat as if an actual known fact that Israel is a European Colony and has no history or reason to be in the Middle East. This BIG LIE ignores the half of the population in Israel which has at least one parent whose lineage comes from other than Europe, Russia, Ukraine or North America. This must be corrected and the reality is that first, even the European Jews have a genetic link to the Middle East and the other half of the population is from the Middle East or North Africa. Half of the Israeli population originates from the Arab and Islamic world where they resided for centuries upon centuries. They had times where life was very good and they were treated almost equally and there were times when they faced pogroms and forced conversions and even times they were forced to flee the persecution of one area leader and reestablish themselves under a different Sheikh or Mufti where they would be treated better. Often the position of Dhimmi was the best the Jews could hope to find. Many of these Jewish families had histories which went back in their location to the time of the Caliphs and the Islamic conquest and back before Islam with some residing in what became the Arab and Muslim world even before the time of Jesus. We know this because of writings from the Talmud and other Jewish texts and historical writings. Additionally, there have been Jews living within the Promised Lands since the establishing of the initial conquest by Joshua. These are Jews mostly from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin and the Priestly classes of Kohanim and Levites. The main cities where these Jews lived included Jerusalem, Hevron, Shechem, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Beersheva and the other ancient cities of Eretz Yisroel (see map below).

These Jews which were expelled from the Arab World were almost as numerous as were the initial influx of European Jews by around 1955. This is the truth which the world ignores when they demand that the Jews simply return to wherever they came. Let’s imagine the Jews trying to return to the place they originally came from. Well, if you track the Jews back through their family tree say to around 1000 B.C.E., then you will find that their family origins is in the holy land as ruled by King David. Jerusalem has been conquered and is the capital city and declared to be the Eternal Capital of Eretz Yisroel. This was the beginning of the Israelite empire which eventually reached the Euphrates River in the area which is northern Syria near Iraq (see map below). This was the highpoint in the history of the Jewish People which then divided when the Northern Ten Tribes refused to accept the son of Solomon as King and broke from Judah which then established the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judea. Israel fell in 722 B.C.E. to the Assyrians and the people were assumed to have assimilated and all but disappeared. Judea fell in 597 B.C.E. to the Babylonians leading to the Babylonian Exile which ended when Persia under Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon and bid the Jews to return and rebuild the Temple and worship Hashem in their custom but were required to pay a tax to the Persians as their rulers with Judea being a province. Eventually came the Romans who, after the Jews had revolted and thrown off Roman Rule twice, decided to disperse the Jewish People throughout their empire as was the Roman method of destroying a people removing them from history. This was how the Romans dispersed the Carthaginians after the Third Punic War.

We wish all the best of luck in finding any Carthaginians in the modern world. The Jews only survived because, though our religion is based on our ancient lands and Jerusalem and the Temple, it is also centered on the Torah and the rules it gives us in the form of six-hundred-thirteen Mitzvoth, rules by which to live. This provided the core of the Jewish People for close to two-thousand years along with the knowledge that Hashem promised that we would be returned to our homelands miraculously and our dispersal and exile would end. The promise gave a date according to Ezekiel who said the Jews were to be punished for 430 years because they had turned away from Hashem. This was to become the Babylonian exile. The Persians under Cyrus the Great defeated the Babylonians and freed their Jewish captives about 70 years after Judah lost independence to Babylon. This left 360 years which the Jews would require a second exile to fulfill as one must pay Hashem when one strays. In Leviticus 26:18, Leviticus 26:21, Leviticus 26:24 and Leviticus 26:28 the Torah spells things out quite clearly, should the Jews not fully repent their sins they would be punished increased by a factor of seven. Since most of the Jews freed from Babylon decided to live in the Persian society and adopted pagan ways, which is not exactly repenting, their remaining 360 years were multiplied by seven meaning their time in the Diaspora or under foreign occupation became 2,520 years on the original lunar Jewish calendar which translates to 2,484 years. Count from 536 BCE forward 2,484 years and you arrive at 1948. Further, Isaiah’s prophecy Chapter 66:8 states: “Who has heard of a thing like this? Who has seen things like these? Will a land be brought forth with labor pains in one day? Or will a nation be born at one time? For Zion has come into labor pains as well as given birth to her sons.” Israel was established exactly as Isaiah prophesized in a single day. These are just two prophesies which predicted the return of the Jewish People and the reestablishing of the state of Israel. There are a whole series of prophesies which tell of the future of Israel and the events which will transpire. A partial list can be found here. We figure this would be a great place to simply remind everyone that the Jews are being gathered literally from the four corners, or the far corners of the globe from every nation and every region. The miracle which Hashem promised is being realized and Israel is anything but a European colony, it is the realization of the promise by Hashem, it is that simple.
