Our Problems with the BDS Movement

The BDS Movement, its longer name is the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction of Israel and only Israel, is now being taught as a proper response to the Jewish perfidy occurring in the Middle East where Israel is presumably attempting to conquer all of the Arab lands. The claims made by the BDS Movement are that Israel is an Apartheid State, using ethnic cleansing, seeking to claim lands to form Greater Israel, racial profiling against all non-European ethnicities and various other blatant lies concerning the Jewish State. But the BDS Movement has a secret it uses in order to prevent their adherents from seeing anything which would challenge their propaganda. Should any of those they intend to indoctrinate with their anti-Semitic poison decide they wish to visit Israel to verify the validity or lack thereof of what they have instructed, they tell such a curious individual that part of BDS includes never-ever visit Israel as doing so would incur their spending monies in Israel thus breaking the BDS Movement’s basic attempts to starve Israel economically. But their real fear is that their lies would not hold up to anyone with eyes and an open mind who visits Israel, and even more so should they simply travel as their own guide and watching the interactions of Israelis. Add to this is the completely ludicrous claims that Israel has been attempting to form a greater Israel by conquering lands which belong to the Arabs and are a threat to all of the Arab World. Simply looking at the map below where the Arab (Islamic) World is in green and Israel and all of the lands it covers are in light blue with the lands occupied by the Arab Palestinians are in red.

The Truth Arab League Wants You to Know

The Truth the Arab League does not Want You to Know

There once existed Greater Israel back around one-thousand years before the Common Era under Kings David and Solomon. Israel in these ancient times reached from the Euphrates River to the Wadi of Egypt, known then as the River of Egypt as it marked the Egyptian border with the Jewish State. The current claims that Israel seeks in modern times to reform this Greater Israel claim that the River of Egypt must mean the Nile River as the Wadi of Egypt is usually a dry river bed except when rains fall and it floods. The maps below show the two concepts of what formed or will form a future Greater Israel, the one on the left is the conspiracy theorists claims Israel intends to conquer and the one on the right shows the historic Greater Israel that actually did exist. Does Israel, or at least some Israelis, desire making additional lands part of Israel? The answer is yes, many ardent Zionists not only desire, but demand of the world that the United Nations enforce Article 80 of their Charter to continue to enforce and establish the Mandate Lands which include the British Mandate. The British Mandate included the region which today is made up by Jordan, Israel and the disputed occupied lands. The British Mandate was divided between the Jewish Zionists and refugees and the Arab Palestinians in what the world, and especially the British, in a manner which represented some form of equality or lack thereof. This fair and even divide used the Jordan River as the basis for forming the border between Israel, the Jewish State, and Transjordan, later named Jordan and the Arab State. This gifted the Arabs with 78% of the British Mandate and Israel was to be formed by the remaining 22%.

Within a decade of the formation of Israel on May 15, 1948, the Arab and Islamic Worlds exiled and forced out the majority of their Jewish populations totaling over 800,000 Jews after stripping them of their wealth and valued possessions. These Jews largely were taken in by Israel as the European nations refused to accept any of the Jews unless they possessed a passport for that nation. The Arabs, on the other hand, had less than 700,000 refugees who mostly were the result not of the fighting, but were Arabs who obeyed the command by Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammed Amin al-Husseini who called for all Arabs living amongst the Jews to take refuge behind the Arab armies of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and Yemen such that these armies could simply murder every person they found and then these Arabs would share in the spoils of the Jews after the Arabs reached the Mediterranean Sea. When the Arab armies were stopped from any further advance and were starting to be pushed out of the lands intended for the State of Israel, the United Nations, United States, Russia and most of the world demanded that the fighting be halted immediately. Nobody thought that waiting for the newly formed IDF to clear the lands back to the borders set under the British Mandate was wise, better that Arabs be left occupying lands promised the Zionists and the Jewish People. This was the origin of the Arab Palestinian refugees and later, in September of 1964, the formation of the PLO which initially insisted on liberating all of Palestine which was defined as the lands west of the Jordan River with the exceptions of Gaza which was occupied by Arabs of Egypt and what Jordan called the West Bank occupied by Arabs of Jordan. These lands were liberated from Jordanian and Egyptian rule during the 1967 Six Day War and defended during the Yom Kippur War. Israel also took control of the Sinai Peninsula during these conflicts which was returned to Egypt when they signed a peace treaty with Israel but the Egyptians refused to resume their control over Gaza. When peace was reached subsequently with Jordan, they refused to return to their areas called the West Bank, the Shomron according to Israel, returning them to Israel. This should have allowed for Israel to finally realize the borders promised after World War I (see map below) in a number of treaties, conferences and other legal events and documents all enforceable under International Law.

Mandate of San Remo for French and British including actual treaty demarcations for each nation

Mandate of San Remo for French and British including actual treaty demarcations for each nation

But the BDS Movement has arranged to have their own versions of history and reality. Their claim is that everything which led to the formation of Israel was as a direct result of the Holocaust and a means of alleviating European guilt over the murder of one-third of world Jewry. They deny the existence of the San Remo Conference, the Mandate System and the League of Nations, among other treaties and agreements, has designed the terms and the borders which would define the Arab lands and those of the Jewish State. The borders of Israel were supposed to be defined by what is the current border with Lebanon, the Sinai-Negev border, the Golan Heights and the remainder along the Jordan River. The BDS Movement, or at least their leadership, do not recognize these borders nor the existence of the treaties, conferences, mandates and the League of Nations implementations for restructuring of the borders of much of eastern Europe of the German Empire and Austria-Hungarian Empire as well as most of the Middle East and North Africa borders of the Ottoman Empire. These were the three empires which were on the losing side of World War I. The BDS Movement ignore all of this as well as discarding the entirety of the Mandate System such that they claim that Israel is a European colonial invasion of the purely Arab Muslim Middle East. Israel spent decades fighting to be released from the British Empire as she was a British colony. How Israel could be a colony of anyone other than the British before May 15, 1948, when Israel was finally released by the British and declaring her independence. Further, half of the Israeli citizenship are from the Middle East, North Africa, Ethiopia, India, South America as well as virtually anywhere on the Earth one might choose.

But let us look into the history of the BDS Movement. The origin of the BDS Movement comes from the Arab boycott of Israel which was born at the Khartoum Conference and the “three no’s” resulting from that conference. The “three no’s” are, “no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with Israel.” This was nurtured spreading the boycott to numerous entities around the world eventually morphing into the BDS Movement. The purpose of the BDS Movement is simply to isolate the Jewish State forming a virtual blockade around Israel preventing anything from leaving Israel going to anywhere else and preventing anything from entering Israel from anywhere. Further, they demand that all cooperation with Israel on any level including academic, scientific, economic, political, social, tourist or any other interaction making Israel a pariah amongst the world’s nations. The problem that the BDS Movement proponents run smack into is that Israel is not at all similar to what they cast her. As mentioned above, the Jewish population of Israel is diverse with a large segment of the population originating from the Middle East and North Africa as well as from Europe and the rest of the developed world. Israel even has organized two separate operations to save Ethiopian Jews who were threatened and called for a savior, and that savior was the same as the one which gave the Jews thrust out of the Arab and Islamic worlds, Israel. The Jews of India have also come to Israel in a fair number of people. Israel is most definitely one of the most diverse populations found anywhere in the world. This puts to lie the BDS Movement’s claims that Israel is an Apartheid country. With Jews returning to their ancient homelands from literally around the world coming from virtually every country. They are all citizens with equal rights including voting in elections, freedom of speech, thought and in virtually every other area. Furthermore, all Israeli citizens have equal rights whether they be Jews, Arabs, Muslims, Druze, Bedouin, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or any other people or religion even including atheists and secular humanists.

But the BDS Movement have decided to blame Israel for the woes and deprivations forced upon the Arabs in Gaza and in Areas A and B of the Shomron as defined under the Oslo Accords. They blame Israel for the two communities of Arabs not having elections in well over a decade. The claim that they have been denied the right to vote, but not by Israel. The reason for their not having had elections is simply, neither Hamas in Gaza or the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Areas A and B of the Shomron have permitted elections. Hamas chooses their leaders often in concert with Islamic Jihad and potentially influence of Iran imposing a Hamas dictatorship over Gaza. The PA is headed by Mahmoud Abbas who knows that he would not win reelection should elections be permitted to be held; thus, he has cancelled every election since 2005 meaning that Mahmoud Abbas has been their leader for now fourteen years of his four-year term. That is merely a decade more than his term was in theory, while in actuality Mahmoud Abbas heads a dictatorial regime. Israel has no influence over elections or who rules in these Arab regions which have self-rule and are semi-autonomous making them independent of Israeli rule but they remain within Israeli official borders. BDS Movement leadership minimizes the amount of independence the Arab Palestinians truly have and completely ignoring Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the PA, allowing them to claim that Israel is preventing allowing them to hold elections. They also make the absurd claim that Israel has denied them their right to vote in Israeli elections. These Arabs are not Israeli citizens with most in Gaza formerly either having Egyptian citizenship or that of another Arab nation or are simply Gazans but not Israeli as Israel has disengaged from Gaza allowing that region complete independence. The PA Arabs mostly hold Jordanian citizenship with a lesser number having Iraqi, Syrian or other Arab national citizenship with some having only PA citizenship, but again, not Israeli citizenship. When Israel formally annexed the Golan Heights at the end of 1981, Israel granted the Arabs residing within the region full citizenship. When Eastern Jerusalem was annexed by Israel, the Arabs residing within the region were approved for a form of limited citizenship allowing their voting in Jerusalem and other local elections but are still restricted from voting in national elections until final determinations of their fate will be finalized.

The claim by the BDS Movement that Israel is performing genocide or ethnic cleansing is so absolutely ridiculous as to border comical except that it has become accepted as fact in far too many places including the halls of power around the world even in the United States Congress. The refuting of their claim is so simple that it is surprising that these two claims have any credibility. Since 1967, when Israel liberated Gaza and the Shomron, the Arab Palestinian population has grown from just over one million in 1967 to just short of five-million currently. How anybody can extrapolate from an approaching five-fold increase in a population with their suffering from a genocidal ethnic cleansing is utterly ridiculous. The only reasoning that might permit such thoughts is the belief that the IDF is so incompetent that they are unable to perform such a task. The only logical reasoning is that there is no genocidal ethnic cleansing and that the Arab Palestinians are free to survive as best they can under their own leadership independent of Israel. Virtually everything claimed by the BDS Movement are lies, extreme exaggerations and falsehoods fabricated out of whole cloth. The easiest means of proving what Israel truly is, a fully functioning democratic parliamentary nation with all of the rights and privileges which any citizen of most developed nations enjoy would be to come and spend two or three weeks sightseeing and traveling around visiting cities and towns of all sizes as well as the kibbutzim. Israel is a diverse nation whose strengths are largely due to this diversity and the interactions between the many Jews of differing origins. But that is the very reason that at the heart of the BDS Movement is the rule that none of its members ever visit Israel as that would put at risk every iota of propaganda, they have fed their followers. But since many of those purporting agreement with the BDS Movement are professors and teachers, students have no prior knowledge upon which to base judgment of the veracity of what they are taught or the putting to lie these scurrilous accusations made of Israel. The entirety of the BDS Movement is built like a house of cards where, when one lie is unraveled, the entire structure of falsehoods crashes down revealing that the entirety of the BDS Movement has no relevance or reflection of the actualities which are Israel.

Rebirth of an Ancient Hatred: Part 2

All of these things are small if taken one-by-one but together give many a large amount of latitude to be overly critical of Israel. Where Israel is not perfect, and what nation is, she is not the main difficulty in the world as so many make out she is. Where being critical of Israel is not necessarily a sign of anti-Semitism, when somebody makes special rules for Israel, only criticizes Israel and no one else, blames Israel for actions others took or that Israel did not commit and other such variations of these or anything where Israel is being harshly criticized unfairly, that is anti-Semitism. There is a means for determining if criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism called the 3D Test of Anti-Semitism which was designed by Natan Sharansky, and these 3D’s are Demonization, Double Standards and Delegitimization. These are relatively obvious and make for an easy means of judging if the condemnations and complaints people put forth about Israel fall under anti-Semitism. There is another which did not fall within Natan Sharansky’s definition, and that is obsession. If a person obsesses over Israel and solely Israel and Jews generally, you can pretty much bet you have an anti-Semite in your midst. This takes knowing somebody for longer than one or two demonstrations and can be easily ascribed to people with whom you work, socialize, play sports with regularly or anyone with whom you have a regular reason to be in contact and you get to know their likes and dislikes. Then there is the anti-Semite who never quite comes out and says anything derogatory about Jews but always leaves a hint that this is what he means but always comes up just short of actually committing it to words. Such a person will likely have other prejudices which he will speak around in very much the same fashion. We have found that these are people with whom it is best to leave a fair amount of distance from oneself.

The reality is much of anti-Semitism today falls into two categories with separate origins. The first is the anti-Semitism which has existed throughout history, the plain all-out hatred of Jews. Standing almost two meters in height, having blonde hair with blue eyes and appearing about as Aryan as one can get, I have personally heard quite a bit more anti-Semitic talk and accusations than the average Jew. The reaction I get from those who have expressed such beliefs, often in more than one meeting, have some of the most interesting reactions when informed by myself or another in the group that I am a Jew. Some get rather pale and start apologizing like at that point it will help. Many simply start going through their denial phase of anti-Semitism which I now refer to as the Jeremy Corbyn reaction. Another group will simply challenge that I am actually a Jew and will inevitably demand I tell them my Jew name, at which time I just tell them my given Hebrew name which also appears to seldom convince them, some claiming I just made it up just then. Others actually get angry and accuse me of being a Jew who is an enforcer looking for anti-Semites. And others simply walk away and I seldom see them except that they leave when I arrive. The thing is I seldom accuse them of anything, I just state I am a Jew or this is pointed out to them. Sometimes I find the whole thing amusing, as I know for many of these people I am the first Jew they have knowingly met. This form of anti-Semitism is often learned anti-Semitism where it was fostered through parents being anti-Semites (it often only takes one parent), through friends and acquaintances, by joining a gang or club which as part of their worldview expound anti-Semitism or through other social means where one rubs elbows with one too many other anti-Semites. This is the historic anti-Semitism which once caught relegates one to being part of the alt-right or white-supremacist as well as other denotations which place them as presumably conservatives though true conservatism does not in and of itself expound anti-Semitism and more than being on the left does such. These forms of anti-Semitism are more prevalent in Europe than the United States. Then there is the anti-Semitism which permeates the Arab and Muslim worlds, which is a region where rampant anti-Semitism has infected the vast majority of the people. Here it is inherited, imposed and so generally expressed freely and has no opposition or downside. Here Israel and Jews are used interchangeably. This is also a major source of the “New anti-Semitism”

The New anti-Semitism has taken root in the far left, with most leftists and the minority rights movements. As we have noted recently, the women’s movement, specifically the Chicago Dyke March, refused to permit a number of lesbian Jews from marching because they had a multi-colored flags with a Star of David (see image below). What has occurred has been the imposition of a concept called intersectionality. By this definition, if you join one group on the left, then you must support all the groups on the left, and this has been applied very stringently within the minority rights action groups. The other side of the equation is that if you oppose any single one of the groups which have been deemed appropriate to be included in intersectionality, then you are opposed to everything within intersectionality. The pro-Palestinian position has been graced with inclusion within intersectionality and any position which does not condemn Israel, let alone be pro-Israel, has been deemed as against intersectionality and thus is completely unacceptable to these favored groups. More simply put, no Israeli flags, no Stars of David, nothing which is too Jewish period. But isn’t that just a tad anti-Semitic? No, not according to the definers of intersectionality, it is the logical position against White Privilege, and anti-colonialism, and minority rights, and anti-Capitalism, and simply the right side of history as described by the alt-left, as we like to call them, or leftists if you prefer. This denotation was introduced by the likes of Linda Sarsour, Tamika Mallory, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Carmen Perez, Bob Bland and Symone Sanders from the planning group of the Women’s March had connections, made positive remarks on social media praising, defended those who had been found affiliated with or had other links in some manner to Louis Farrakhan. Of course, as soon as this became an issue, they all gathered together and met with a selected group of leftist Jews and all was forgiven, it is for the cause, you know. But this was how intersectionality became a filter to keep the wrong kinds of Jews out of the approved peoples list. Supporting Israel is just so, well, just so Trump.

Multi-Colored Flags with a Star of David

Multi-Colored Flags with a Star of David

This will filter through the leftist circles and soon will become a non-issue because the people who require receiving the message will either mend their ways and forgo any support for Israel or realize that they no longer have a place where they had believed they were welcomed. So sorry, the leftists have decided that Zionism is a terrible disease and that if you have this terrible disease of Zionism you must be excised from the group before you contaminate somebody else. Their minds are all made up because, well, Linda Sarsour, Tamika Mallory and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are so completely knowledgeable and they have spoken and there is no turning back, especially for a bunch of those people. Trust us, Linda Sarsour at the very least is a true-blue, through and through anti-Semite and she knows from where it comes, her Quran and her association with numerous Islamic groups. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez initially expounded very supportive expression for the Palestinian Arabs and desired that all aid to Israel be cut off as they were an occupier and were committing genocide of the poor and unfortunate Palestinian Arabs. Ms. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Israel has had over fifty years where we have had relations with Palestinian Arabs, so if Israel were committed to their genocide, why are any of them still alive or do you believe that Israel is simply too incompetent to accomplish such a task if this were an actual policy. The evidence that you still have a large number, actually one that has been increasing over the past fifty years, to take their side is proof positive that Israel is not carrying out any form of genocide or even persecution, but why allow reality to confuse your views. This new form of anti-Semitism on the left has been powered by Arab money, George Soros’s money and the money of many leftist amongst whom many are Jews some of which do not know any better and others who agree that Israel is evil. Those Jews who are ignorant of what is happening had best awaken to reality before it is once again too late. What is starting with the shock troops out protesting President Trump often with a fair degree of violence and the creeping anti-Semitism in the left wings of the Democrat Party and completely permeating the Social Democrat Party which is vying to take control of the Democrat Party, is something which should be recognizable to anyone with a basic knowledge of history. No, it is not a repeat of the Nazi takeover of Germany as history does not repeat itself, it simply writes a poem with the same rhymes. This more closely resembles the events with the Persians and why we celebrate Purim and read Esther’s Haggadah. The main difference is instead of Haman and his sons, there are Islamists and other anti-Semites which means that there are a much bigger number of Hamans and sons and that number is growing just as the anti-Semites grew backing Haman. When the wrong Democrats gain sufficient power in the Congress and the wrong Democrat becomes President, things could become very difficult and even take a turn for the absolute destruction of Constitutional rights and maybe even Constitutional government with the Constitution being rewritten such that the Electoral College is eliminated and the President becomes elected by popular vote, the borders are soon opened wide to all who desire to enter and these new immigrants are given blanket amnesty and instant citizenship. Their registration will be assigned to be carried out by a special group which will employ only those groups accepted by intersectionality as such a task requires people with open minds which have the correct-think down and would not infect these new citizens with any strange or dangerous ideas. The warning which I have been sounding beginning in the middle of the 1960’s and ever since despite being told by the vast majority of Jews in the United States and the majority here in Israel since I arrived, anti-Semitism is growing at an alarming rate in the United States. Initially it was the variety which was relegated to the alt-right. Now it is growing like kudzu in the alt-left, the leftist and pure socialist camp. This new anti-Semitism is far more virulent and thus unbelievably more dangerous and if left unchecked, it will engulf the United States and eventually join those on the alt-right if only to use them as foot soldiers. These leftists have already infiltrated into school boards and position which decide on which textbooks are bought and which lesson plans are used and are using these positions as a power to influence the minds of the children. The “intellectuals” in the ivory towers are taking these far leftist positions to heart seeing it as the future. This includes the hatred for Israel which is rapidly morphing into outright anti-Semitism. Campuses have had demands that Jews denounce Israel, fly the Palestinian flag from their dorm room or on their door. Any sign of Zionism often will meet with a violent reaction and these altercations are never mano-a-mano, they are six or more to one. I will be called a fool once more and hope that I truly am a fool tilting at windmills and calling them dragons. My problem is slowly I am finding others who are seeing pretty much exactly, what I am seeing and that frightens me because often I really wish to be wrong, and this is one of those times.

Christian Genocide in Nigeria

Israelis are not the only people whose suffering goes unnoticed by the mainstream media. Just as the fields of Jews burning near the Gaza border went unreported by much of the media and the mortars and rockets launched into Israel were ignored and only when Israel responded did reporters take notice merely to claim that Israel was shooting innocent peaceful demonstrators. Had the Gazans been peaceful instead of launching incendiary devices and shooting at IDF positions, then the reporters would have had nothing to report, as the IDF does not engage those who do not pose a threat. Just as the video we posted yesterday showed, there were Hamas terrorists shooting at IDF positions who were then engaged by an IDF tank crew which destroyed their built-up bunker killing the two terrorists within. But we are not going to talk about Hamas and Islamic Jihad or their continuing assaults on Israeli communities with their incendiary balloons and kites or their engaging IDF positions with live fire in attempts to kill the soldiers. Today we are going to talk about the slaughter which has been mostly uncovered in Africa and in particular, the terror campaign ongoing from Boko Haram in the area centered in Nigeria.

Just last month, over a span of four days, militant Islamic Fulani herdsmen embarked on a killing spree that reduced a dozen Nigerian villages to dust and claimed the lives of at least two-hundred innocent Christian men, women, and children. These were the villages of Nigeria’s Plateau State and were considered, according to Open Doors an organization serving persecuted Christians; the region was “the epicenter of Christianity in northern Nigeria’s Middle Belt.” This was nothing short of a genocidal cleansing of a region of all who were not Muslim. According to reporting, “No fewer than 120 persons were weekend killed in several villages in Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State in fresh attacks by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen, while over 200 others sustained gunshot injuries.”

The Plateau State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) issued a statement in Jos, the state capital, signed by the Publicity Secretary, John Akans stated:

“We received with rude shock the level of genocide going on now in Gashish District, Razat, Ruku Nyarr and Gana-Ropp, all in Barkin Ladi Local Government.
“We also note with great pains the dastardly attacks ongoing in many other local government areas in the state by the militias.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the level of continuous genocide of Plateau people. At the moment, Barkin Ladi is under siege with over 130 people feared to have been killed. As at time of this statement, the (SOM) CAPRO School of missions Gana-Ropp is under heavy attack by the militias.
“This unholy act of systematic genocide and the destruction of the cultural heritage of Plateau people must stop.
“We call on the international community to come to the aid of Plateau people as, besides the over 130 people killed, many are missing.”

Summarizing World Watch Monitor reports, that dusk to dawn curfews have been ordered and in what has been perceived as a ‘lukewarm’ attitude towards the ongoing murderous violence, President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking a second term in the coming February 2019 elections, condemned what he called “painful” and “regrettable” killings and expressed his “deepest condolences to the affected communities”. To his credit, Buhari also announced an unprecedented deployment of security forces in the region, including two police surveillance helicopters, five armored personnel carriers, three Police Mobile Force (PMF) units, two Counter-Terrorism Units (CTU) and Police Intelligence Units, and conventional police personnel from other states. Perhaps these reporters desired a more overt response like perhaps an Army Battalion being sent to the area to conduct maneuvers as part of a training exercise. That is always a great excuse for placing a large contingency of potential forces in an area to calm the natives, so to speak. Below is a video report from World Watch Monitor featuring the Reverend Gideon Para-Mallam on the situation across Nigeria.

Where these attacks have been mostly portrayed as Muslim on Christian violence, which is valid and a definite problem in central Nigeria where the northern Islamic regions and the southern Christian regions meet, one must also include the natural enmity between herdsmen and farmers which is as old as recorded history and even before. Remember Cain and Able, one the hunter, the forerunner of a herdsman, and the other a planter and gatherer, the forerunner of the farmer, and how their brotherly relations went afoul. There are plenty of reasons but the level of the violence does play more to the religious differences than anything else.

Burnt Remains of Home in a Christian Village in Nigeria

Burnt Remains of Home in a Christian Village in Nigeria

For many, particularly among the Christian communities in the Plateau and other Middle Belt States like Benue and Nasarawa where Fulani militias have been causing havoc, there is a feeling of déjà vu. Some might remember the attacks by Boko Haram during the terms of President Obama when they kidnapped three-hundred Christian girls from a school in Nigeria and threatened to sell them as slaves. Many might remember Michelle Obama’s famous picture (see below) where she was holding a sign which read, “#BringBackOurGirls” with the most dour look on her face signifying her great concern and compassion and her sharing their pain. This episode was all part of a similar series of attacks in central Nigeria somewhat east of these current attacks. Back during that episode, to President Goodluck Jonathan’s credit, it was reported that his government efforts included two special battalions from the military tasked solely to the search for those missing girls. Some of those young girls escaped and gave reports on where they had been held and a fair number, but not all, of the young women were eventually recovered.

Michelle Obama holds a sign with the #BringBackOurGirls hash tag

In a FrontPageMag.com report, they state that community members insist that these attacks are part of “a grand plan to Islamize Nigeria.” According to a Dr. Soja Bewarang, the murders are “no longer farmer and herder clashes” but, rather, a “deliberate attempt to conquer and occupy the land of the people’s ancestral heritage.” What makes these killings even a greater tragedy is the near complete lack of mainstream media coverage with absolutely or next to nothing reported on the nightly news. Americans and Europeans are left completely uninformed about the Islamic war against Christians going on in Nigeria and the rest of northern savannah in Africa where the Islamic regions which extend down from the Mediterranean Sea meet the Animist and Christian regions of central and southern Africa in what is called the African Transition Zone. This zone reaches clear across Africa from Somalia to Senegal. The lack of coverage of the problems in this region cannot be laid at the feet of President Trump any more than they could be used to place blame on President Barack Obama, President George W. Bush, and President Bill Clinton to as far back as one desires to go. The last Presidents to challenge the Islamic terror presence in Northern Africa were President Thomas Jefferson and President James Madison during the First and Second Barbary Wars. Some have referred to President Reagan’s brief encounter with Libya as the Third Barbary War, humorously we hope. Still, what is happening along the borders of the Islamic World and the Animist and Christian Worlds in Africa is a travesty only exceeded by the lack of interest by the mainstream media. Choose whatever reason you prefer for their lack of coverage, the victims are people of color, the perpetrators are Islamic and they fear being tagged as Islamophobic, there is no glory or sensationalism, to them it is old news as it has been continuing for decades now and they reported on it once or whatever other lame excuse fits your fancy. Whatever their reason, people are being murdered in the hundreds and even into the tens of thousands over the decades long history and unless it has some unusual twist such as when Michelle Obama and the world momentarily cared about three hundred young Christian school girls abducted in the middle of the night with a number of school officials murdered for attempting to prevent the attack, then the media sat up and paid attention, momentarily. We would like to ask and challenge, where are the media now?
