How the United States Got These Candidates

 

With all the brouhaha over how negatively both major party candidates are received with Democrat Party Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton somewhere over 55% negative rating and Republican Party Presidential Candidate Donald Trump often reaching beyond 65% negative rating, it would appear an impossible situation; yet here we all are. One of the two it is obvious why they were chosen, they were promised as their 2008 consolation prize the next open candidacy for President after President Obama, thus the Democrats were to be stuck with Hillary Clinton. What is absolutely stunning, and is one reason she easily could lose, she had to resort to dirty political tricks and slanting the playing field in order to beat out a non-Democrat card carrying socialist who started his campaign on a shoestring of financing and at 3% in polling. By the time we reached an almost photo-finish, Bernie Sanders had nearly closed the gap and passed Hillary Clinton sending the inevitable one home with no crown. Imagine this, a former First Lady and Senator of New York lost to a relative newcomer with one strong speech nationally in 2008 and all but lost to what can only be described as that crazy uncle who lives the life of a hermit and is the quintessential loner who nobody has ever taken seriously in 2016. This is the candidate the Democrat Party elites plus the Democrat candidate support including her campaign teams and the mainstream media, but I am all but actually repeating myself, are claiming is the greatest Presidential candidate since the invention of the wheel? I want some of what they’ve been smoking. The Democrats could not have intentionally have designed and built from the plans a weaker and less appealing candidate, which makes it a good thing they already had one. Hillary Clinton could not have beaten almost any Republican no matter how unknown at the start. So why is Hillary Clinton up in every poll?

 

The reason is the Republican Party appears to have been set from the start to give the American people a worse and even less attractive candidate to run against Hillary Clinton cinching her getting the golden ring and all the honors she can steal and leaving the United States to look forward to four years of some of the most memorably intolerable speeches possible. We have had some question our professing that the powers that be controlling the Republican Party were seeking a candidate who would lose and lose big to Hillary Clinton. Hear us out and after that we will go one step further on the conspiracy train. Going into the first Republican debate, who was the knighted candidate in shining armor gilded and his accounts loaded with the stuff campaigns survive upon, cash? Thinking back the big story was we were about to witness Clinton-Bush, the rematch. The race for the White House was going to be Jeb Bush slugging and scratching and eye-gouging with Hillary Clinton. This was going to be the faceoff of the two biggest families in modern American politics. The seats for the debates with these two anointed ones promised to be high value and cherished items. Jeb ran into some traction problems and the Republican rank and file was not hungering for anything more from the Bush family. So old Jeb struck out and left the game rather early on.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

 

This is where the fifth estate took center stage. The Republican elite were in a quandary as to who would now be their candidate. They basically splintered and flittered from one candidate to another never congealing in one place. This left the playing field kind of open and the media knew immediately that there were only two candidates who could give Hillary Clinton a strong run for losing the election. That’s right, we said fight to lose, not win, the election. These were Texas Senator Ted Cruz and New York loud-mouth Donald Trump. The media took to Donald Trump hard and fast over Ted Cruz simply because they knew he would produce the largest and voluminous gaffs and misspeaks over anybody. So the media became the Donald Trump for Republican candidate for President campaign central. The news cycle on television, radio, print, online, on Twitter, Facebook with any and everywhere one looked it was all Trump all the time. Donald Trump was allowed to trample over the debates being granted nearly 50%, possibly over, of the air time while the rest scratched over the remaining morsels. The media chose Donald Trump with Ted Cruz coming in a poor second sort of the reserve option, the relief pitcher should Donald Trump manage to be thrown from the game or some other means of becoming ineligible. They gave Donald Trump, as some estimates have stated, up to if not more than a billion dollars of campaign coverage. Sure everybody was patting Donald Trump on the back for his masterly use of the media in support of his campaign. It was all smoke and mirrors concealing the media’s gross miscarriage of practice by completely discarding their supposed equal time rules and replacing them with Donald Trump 24/7. About the only thing they did not do was adopt the Trump campaign slogan, “Make America great again,” as their sign on and off phrase of the moment. They may as well have as it really would not have made their fawning over Donald Trump any less or more obvious.

 

The media got their man in Donald Trump who they could find a path for Hillary Clinton to be ensconced in the Oval Office the end of January. Here is where the near perfect certainty of the plan, the plot thickens, so to speak. The media believes that they built Donald Trump up into being the Republican Party candidate for President so they should easily be capable of tearing him down. Trump has bigger negatives than Hillary but there is a problem here. Hillary has high negatives even with many presumed and so-called supporters while Trump’s negatives lie largely with people who would never have voted for him anyways. This makes whatever base is supporting Trump solid and unwavering while large sectors of Hillary’s base is somewhat soft and squishy leaving her to shore these voters up instead of cultivating new votes from the undecideds as Trump is attempting to do. Even the most feeble of attempts is superior to no attempt at all. This is part of the plan with the barrage of disheartening polls where every hour Trump is being cast as an ever bigger loser to Hillary. This is aimed at Trump’s base attempting to have them feel it is useless, so why bother voting if they can pal around with their friends, especially if their friends are Trump supporters and engaging in such activities breaks the back, the will of Trump support.

 

The media has brought forward some ordinarily devastating quotes, leaks, accusations, improprieties and other disparaging trash against Trump. Any normal Republican politician would have walked away in shame begging the world’s forgiveness as they checked into a psychiatric home to receive therapy for all their shortcomings. The Republican Party itself would strike their name from every roll and committee and that candidate would be ruined. Not Donald Trump as he takes hit after hit right in the chops and bellows, “Is that all you’ve got,” in that native New York in your face, never back down wisecracker. Trump is not a shrinking violet who would allow a few paltry accusations of what was at the edge of indiscretion thirty or forty years ago be applied and judged by the prissy modern politically correct judgmentalism which demands that if you are a white, male, Christian then you had best know your place and get down on your knees and confess, it is good for your soul. Of course, since Trump has refused to do so the media is exclaiming that they knew it, Donald Trump has no soul. Trump is a soulless zombie that preys on women and weaker souls who are ill prepared to face such a monster, a beast who sends the delicate and wonderful ones shrieking in horror running for their safe zone. Donald Trump written in chalk on a college campus or so has proven the evil that is Donald Trump. Thusfar the media is failing to destroy Trump and his support and this frightens them all the way to their boardrooms. A horrible creature they believed they created now refuses to heel and obey. Next you know they will come for Trump in the night with pitchforks, tar, oil and torches and burn everything down as this creation must be stopped before it is too late. November 8 is their deadline, after that either they will sigh relieved Hillary Clinton prevailed and won or many media and Hollywood thespians will need be placed on suicide watch.

 

We will need such no matter which one wins, or if the only thing worse, proof of malfeasance or trickery performed on the voter rolls or votes or counting thereof is proven beyond any doubt. Any dishonest, underhanded or low-down misappropriations of votes which renders the process to be unreliable and broken in order to present false counts or even change who won fairly, the United States falling to such mischief is all but unthinkable. If in America the vote is not sacrosanct, then where can an honest election be found. Such disappointment would cause every democratic, parliamentary and republican form of government and even the laws themselves would all fall into doubt. That, above all else, is why this coming American Presidential Election is so vital to the Western World and all held precious. If we cannot trust the vote, we do not have fair and trustworthy governance, period.

Before getting to today’s subject, please allow us to interject with this little revelation about which little needs to be commented as it explains itself. The New York Times, attached to the bottom of the article titled Netanyahu Is Talking to Leading Democrats to Little Effect So Far, stated,

The Most Difficult Political Speech is Honest Speech

 

Naftali Bennett spoke honestly and is paying a price before the paragons of all that is correct and permitted to speak. Mr. Bennett made a promise, which if made by Tzipi Livni or Yitzhak Hertzog would have been acclaimed as taking a difficult and brave stand against a situation which plagues too many Israelis and is more prevalent in the less wealthy neighborhoods, a promise to address crime which targets south Tel Aviv and many across the Negev and Galilee where gangs, often Arab gangs thus the potential problems mentioning such if one is not of the correct political bend, victimize the more vulnerable amongst us and whom the authorities appear reluctant to address. This is the promise the Jewish Home Party is basing their call for their own Ayelet Shaked to take the Public Security Minister position should they be included in the next ruling coalition. The media immediately jumped on Naftali Bennett claiming he was making racist incitement or accusing all Arabs of committing criminal acts. Nobody apparently thought to grant Bennett with being concerned with a plight which inflicts the lives of people who for reasons not of their own making face increased criminal elements victimizing the areas where they live. Should anybody on the left make such a claim to target crime in high risk neighborhoods they are lauded as taking the brave stand, caring for the downtrodden, leading a needed crusade or simply shows their nature as a risk-taker not afraid to broach the most sensitive of subjects. But Israeli society needs to go further into these areas and by doing so remove some of the barriers between the different areas of our society and make our personal and community lives be as accepting of people spanning the entirety of Israeli populations as has been accomplished in the IDF.

 

That brings us to a couple of horrific acts for which those responsible deserve the strictest application of the law possible. Ghazi Hasisi, a Druze from Daliat al-Karmel, had stepped outside of the Ultra Sound club in Kibbutz Yagur where he was overheard to speak Arabic which led a group of young people to assault him throwing rocks injuring him. Ghazi Hasisi serves in the Golani Brigade. This assault was reminiscent of another assault which took place at the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem where Tommy Hasson, a Druze army veteran, was assaulted quite likely for the same reason. Such acts of violence are horrid and that they would be committed for such an absurd reason as that somebody was speaking a different language makes it abhorrent. Just as the violence perpetrated against Jews for their religion in Europe and elsewhere, it is just as if not more-so when it is committed in Israel against anybody simply because of their religion, ethnicity or anything which used by the judgmental amongst us. These two attacks in some ways are more offensive than many other attacks which occur within the areas under Israeli control as these two assaults were committed by Jews. That makes these two attacks a sin on every Israeli Jew and a reflection that something is wrong with our society that such acts can even come from any Israeli Jew. The one reprieve came from the act by members of grassroots Zionist movement Im Tirtzu visited Ghazi Hasisi in his room at Rambam Hospital in Haifa on Sunday. May their kindness erase the shame committed of the uncouth assault and may our Druze friends accept that the majority of Jews are horrified by the actions of the few and pray that both Ghazi Hasisi and Tommy Hasson can find it in their hearts to allow and accept our apologies. May the miscreants of these two senseless and irresponsible acts be found, charged and sentenced with the harshness they deserve.

 

This takes me to somewhere a little further off the norms than usual. I know some are wondering if that is possible, trust me, after the rest of this article you will agree, well, probably. Israel is presented in Torah as having a unique purpose and as Israeli Jews we are tasked with that special purpose. This is described as being a light unto the nations. We are not tasked to try and convert others and are only supposed to explain the particulars and requirements placed upon the Jews, especially when we are residing in our home of Eretz Yisroel. What we are to do is set such a high standard for ourselves and in our actions such that other peoples desire to follow our examples when it comes to establishing their nations and cultures. We are to live a holy life according to Torah and through our actions show how high and moral human society can be simply by the actions of the individuals collectively and that improving life and society is a personal thing which does not require government to make a society pleasant and caring where people want to live and look to the society as the model for their own society. That is why Jews acting in such a boorish and brutish manner is actually so offensive to other Jews. While fashioning a society around such high standards is difficult, actions such as these racist assaults detract from the whole society and require that the rest of Israel work that much harder to make up for those who acted in such a manner which is so against what is desired. This is why Naftali Bennett’s challenge to reduce crime in every neighborhood and especially where the people already are facing the difficulties of making ends meet on an income which is below average, is actually an effort which will expand and make the lives of all Israelis safer and that much more enjoyable. These neighborhoods are often left on their own and thus become targeted by criminal elements as they are assured that the enforcement of the law is not as strict as in the more affluent neighborhoods where if the police are insufficient to protect the people, then they hire additional security to guard them and only them. That is why it actually makes sense that the Jewish Home Party would place improving all of Israeli society and work towards making all of Israel safe and living up to the standard of being a light unto the nations. As mentioned above, these efforts will lead to making everywhere safe and by doing so make everywhere more friendly and an exemplary place to live and raise a family. That is another aim is to make all of Israel family friendly where everybody is treated with honesty, friendliness, respect and granted honor due every one of G0d’s children.

Israel’s Choice

Trust Israel to give the world another election with all the boasts, promises, twists, turns, accusations, denunciations, denials, claims, and virtually every other property which we all thought we were done with after the reelection of President Obama. The one thing about the Israeli election is it has the possibility of getting more nasty than anything we saw in the American election and having far more actors as there are likely at least four party leaders who have delusions of becoming the next Prime Minister and one who will have their dream realized only to find out the dream more resembles a nightmare. Meanwhile, the main topics in this coming Israeli election are almost beyond counting and you will be told that the problems and issues are a completely different set depending on which political party you ask and sometimes even which of the candidates on a party list one might ask. The Israeli system being a form of Parliamentary governance makes the entire system rather foreign to most Americans but familiar to the Europeans watching but will likely still provide surprises to even the best informed among us. So, without commenting further on the peculiarities and special circumstances, why not simply tell you my priorities and maybe even make a few picks, not predictions as I long ago learned that predicting Israeli elections is a fool’s game.

Despite all the discussions and other diversions that will preoccupy much of the coverage with each news source telling a story which will best fit their particular political proclivities and preferences; my political peculiarities and partialities sway towards the Jewish-Muslim confrontations, the settling of the whole of Biblical Israel being permitted for the Jewish People, the allowances which must be made for Muslim, Christian, Bahá’í, and other minority religions which also wish to live within these lands, the idea of the writing of an Israeli Constitution setting in written form the rules and laws of governance, making for a lasting peace between the ultra-religious with those of less observance and the continued growth of religious observance among the Israeli Jews. When the Oslo Accords were originally thrust upon the Israeli political scene by dealings behind the scene and without the full blessing of Israeli leaders of the time, I had hoped that it would bring a possibility for peace and not prove to be a tripping mechanism deliberately placed to destroy any hopes of harmony and peace between the Jews and their Muslim neighbors. What has proven to be the case has been the most disappointing and destructive result that anyone could have imagined. The toxin that has resulted from the attempts to make the Oslo Accords realize their purported perfect relations will lead to a war of such destruction that it must be avoided at almost any cost but not at any price. The death of the State of Israel, the actual designed result intended by the Islamists, must be defeated at almost any cost though most Israelis would prefer that the cost not be in lives or in a permanent animosity, though much of that choice is beyond the ability of most Israelis. The end of the Oslo Accords and the illusions cast around it need to be revealed such that all see it as the chimera that it has always been. After this has been accomplished, then real relations can be made with those Palestinians who wish to build a functioning state for both people with safety and guarantees of religious freedom and a sharing of the Holy Sites. Those who prefer terrorism and violence over cooperation need to be treated as the criminal element that they are and no more excuses should be allowed to mitigate their deadly intents and crimes.

The difficult path going into this election for the Israeli public is to discern and separate the truths from the empty rhetoric, the promises from the deceptions, the true hope from the empty visions of ready and easy solutions. The problems and difficulties plaguing Israel are not going to be repaired through painless and easy procedures but solely through hard, steady and painfully slow definitive acts and carefully guided diplomacy. Oslo has poisoned the waters and left serious wounds to the relations between the Palestinians and Israelis with it even turning some within families on opposing sides tearing the family structure asunder. The propaganda which denies the right of Jews to exist within any borders used to define Israel which is spread through every means and medium by the Palestinian authority, Hamas, Fatah, the PRC, Islamic Jihad and numerous other Muslim means of communication and education throughout the world cannot be undone by agreements or treaties but only through ending the mistrust, lies and deceptions with the truth. That is why the Israelis need to choose leadership which is willing to admit the hard truths and work within that which is real and not those offering platitudes and promises. They need to discern which politicians are simply tearing down instead of trying to build, blaming and offering escapist solutions rather than reasoned engagement with defined means, and most of all they need to avoid those who seek a route to power by destruction of those with which they disagree instead of through debate and offering a better way. This may be once again a serious and very consequential election for Israel and it may have ramifications that last for decades. My prayers are that good people who seek a true and righteous future are elected to the Knesset and may a similar type person even be chosen as Prime Minister.
