The Soul of the Democrat Party

The Democrat Party will be facing a decision this election that may determine the future of the United States and most definitely the future of the Democrat Party. The battle lines are the same as they were in 2008 and the adversaries are also the same. The choice which will be before the Democrats is whether they wish to return to the era of the Clintons and the now old school of the party or if they desire to continue with the change which was begun by President Obama and the new school of the party. So it will be ‘hope and change’ against triangulation. The one thing we have seen in the past is that triangulation formulates results that many Republican and middle of the road Americans can live with which the ‘hope and change’ is now viewed as either hope for change or hopeless if changes are not made. We know the ‘hope and change’ wing of the party as those who are out to transform the world to meet some idealized model where language and debate are molded by the leadership and the people fulfill their lives through the aid from government. Everything is part and parcel at least defined if not demanded by government and government takes the society where it will be best cared for so every person is cared for and nobody is left out, that is until government decides that there are those who are so incorrigible that they cannot be brought within the acceptable limits of the eventual all-corrigible society where those who do not conform to the message and goals of the future must be made to see the folly of their ways and resistance is highly discouraged. This is the future where all is for the greater good and the greater good is this Utopian view which has been presented and accepted as the right and proper goal which everybody has to see as desirable as it is society perfected.

The other choice is the views from all sides are considered and compromises are made until the people at both extremes are less than satisfied but the core of the people can live with or actually support any initiative. This society would have no real enforceable all-powerful government which could dictate the desired end because rather than take the people to some defined Utopian goal, this future the majority molds the societal path through pure democracy with everything voted upon by every citizen. Rather than finding the way to bring those disrupting influences, those reactionary conservatives who have some view of the past as a better ideal to be embraced, such members of the society would be removed and retrained before being permitted to return. Those powers which desire to remold society to match some Utopian fantasy taught by college professors have already taken hold in the themes of the entertainment industry to produce themes looked upon as favorable and to denigrate those who might be different. They are also working through the education system to limit the discussion by limiting vocabulary by removing ‘charged words’ and defining the debate through political correctness and ostracizing those who people react by needing ‘safe zones’ where disagreement is not heard and there are coloring books and kittens to calm the poor unfortunate who heard the disturbing words. Those who have a nostalgic view of the past must be turned towards this brave new world where we are informed of what is best for us and the future of humankind. The choice offered by the other side of the Democrat, the ever shrinking side which believes that there are those things from the present or recent past which would be great to hold dear and not to change them unilaterally to form the Utopian society and triangulation allows that person’s and the millions like him to not pay taxes or be put out into some full care facility where they can be educated and hopefully illuminated and retuned to society once it is clear that they have embraced the positive aspects of a modeled and molded society where the desired ones are permitted to take charge and the lesser Neanderthals are eventually rounded-up and removed from the body public in order to protect it from fringe elements which ignores the plan for the future and needs assistance. The other way allows for that other’s view to be considered and sometimes that view is seen as preferable and its inclusion is desirable.

The choice for the Democrat Party is to complete the vision of President Obama and those behind his administration or Hillary Clinton who is far less for designing the future societal norms than she would desire to take society down a path which includes every part of the progressive agenda as defined by the current administration. As things are right now it does not appear too favorable for Hillary Clinton and her more centered path of inclusion through compromise than inclusion by education and laws drawn up and enforced by an all-powerful government and enforced by that very same all-powerful government. We will know which side is most prevalent in the Democrat Party in the next three to six months by whether or not Hillary’s campaign has completely lost steam or if Hillary is on trial for treason or if not treason then at least compromising government secrets and allowing for them to be vulnerable to hacking and theft undermining the safety of the nation. She may end up taking the entire blame for the Benghazi murder of the American Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans. The one overriding influence thus far in this primary season is that Hillary Clinton is running more against President Obama and those who have his ear and the older and more central politically, though the Hillary supporters are extremely left wing, and see much about the United States worth saving.

Political Machines Looking in Opposite Directions but both Left of the Republican to be Chosen During the Primaries. The Democrat Primaries Might very well be far More Exciting than Everybody Thought as Hillary Clinton Will Have an Opponent with Big Financial Backing from the Same Sources as President Obama was Financed By. Meanwhile, Should Hillary Falter or Come Under Charges for the e-Mail Scandal or Benghazi, the Democrat Field Opens Wide. The Democrat Party Leadership Will Oppose Bernie Sanders as they Cannot Stomach a Pro Israel Candidate, Especially a Pro Israel Jew, so Unless Bernie Sanders Finds a Presidential Candidate with Jim the Vice President Providing Experience, thus Elizabeth Warren Could Enter as a Potential Candidate and Take the Nomination.

There are definitely forces out there on the left who desire to end any hope for Hillary to become the Democrat candidate and are willing to change whatever it takes to prevent her and her supporters from taking over and bringing the Democrats back from the brink, as Hillary and gang view the state of the nation. So, once again into the breach where one must choose the side they are going to join because, as many conservatives have yet to understand, whomever wins the primaries and gets the selection at the convention becomes every Democrat’s and leftist’s candidate no matter how far apart your views may be because we all know that when the time comes, whomever was chosen will, even if not support, will do little harm to any leftist’s main issues. In the case they might oppose your view, you could depend that they would not do harm and do anything to protect that view from some setbacks. That would be the least a Democrat in the White House would not seek to destroy any leftist’s dreams like would be possible, or even a certainty, under a Republican in the White House. That is the core belief in the Democrat Party, advance whatever leftist dreams you may have and your fellow leftists and Democrats will all vote for you if you are the candidate with the magical ‘D’ after your name trusting that you will first do as little harm as possible and use your veto or vote to your best ability to protect any leftist cause.

But the fight with Hillary and the Obama Administration and all of Obama’s minions is personal and all the rules have been thrown aside as, ‘This is War! ’ It is not exactly a well-kept secret that there is bad blood between the Clintons and the Obamas and nothing can remove that from the picture. There animosity for each other has little to do with the 2008 election cycle though Bill probably holds some grudges as he saw 2008 as already promised to Hillary as it was her time and her turn except the fanatical take no prisoners forces behind the Obama campaign did not see her as worthy nor promised anything and so simply took what they could take. These backers who have run President Obama’s two campaigns and all the main international decisions of his administration and a relative few but what they saw as vital parts to his domestic policies. The one thing the Clintons have learned is that the election of a President of the United States has become an international election as far as assistance both financially and in the international media. It was the media which assisted greatly in placing President Obama in office in 2008 and played a defining role in his reelection. The press coverage Obama received spanned across Europe and beyond even reaching into the Middle East beyond the Israeli arm of the leftist American media and into the Arab media. It mattered little if the people were supportive of President Obama, or should we say candidate Obama, as that has been the main theme of his years in office, win at any cost and sell your soul if need be, though it is much easier to destroy your opposition’s soul and everything else even to the point of having false charges levied against them because winning is the only goal, costs and human carnage be damned. If nothing else, that must be remembered as their price of glory and it matters not who pays the prices along the way. One need only look back at Obama’s political history to see how many times good Democrats who got in the way of the Obama machine were sucked up, chewed to pieces and then the remains spit out and left mangled and unseemly by the side of the newly paved Obama highway to the White House, and that highway began in Chicago where most of his skeletons are buried.

There will be one contributor to the Hillary campaign that will be a page taken out of the Team Obama handbook and this time used for her in a contest beyond the United States borders. It would behoove every Democrat before deciding that Hillary is the next hope realize that compared to her e-mails, there will be another side to her campaign which takes a page right out of the Obama playbook, foreign campaign monies sent to the campaign in small donations of under one-hundred-dollars made with a credit card account from the United States. For those foreign interests interested in controlling the next President if you think if will be Hillary, then you can hedge your bet with a donation to the Clinton Fund as that will be their slush funds. After watching Obama rake in campaign cash from overseas almost without a care in the world, almost an in your face dare for anyone to claim they had committed any wrongdoing, they just dared people to try and do something about it and that was sufficient warning once his past was examined, foe was not a healthy position with any promise of a future, or so it appeared. Bill and Hillary have been amassing a war chest under the title of the Clinton Foundation. There may be some direct contributions all legal and above board, but how much will be hidden within the bundles with other campaign funds all grouped by location. These contributions will be made with cash cards as they are of varied denominations as those are often used as the greatest, safest, and least trackable of all donations, which is why anybody can make a donation. They just need to take a name, address and phone number from any phone listing and there you have all the information necessary to buy and contribute using cash cards. Expect this primary season to be the most expensive ever and that will be just on the way to the convention. The biggest spending campaigns, you ask? That’s an easy one to answer. The big three will be Hillary Clinton, whomever the Obama machine backed candidate will be, and quite probably the greatest spender and cash candidacy this primary season will be Jeb Bush who is potentially going to spend more on the primaries than the remaining sixteen candidates combined. Well, OK, maybe that is a stretch but we are standing by that one until proven wrong. Keep in mind that Jeb Bush has to buy his way past his last name, butt his way past having James Baker as an advisor for international affairs on his team, and most importantly, he has to butt his way past a field with at least five others more likable, more electable, and actually three of them are more qualified than he and, did we mention getting past his last name? That name thing may be one of his biggest problems.

So, where do the next Presidential elections stand? On the Republican side we are still trying to finalize the list but it may come down to a surprise, and a nicer surprise than a Trump putting the Republican possibilities in the dump while on the Democrat side it currently stands with Hillary with a weak but sufficient lead if she can get the media to drop the scandals before Christmas or she herself might become a Christmas gift the Democrats will return for a refund. If the scandals continue beyond Thanksgiving then we know that the Clinton plan of getting it all out and out early so it would be old news before Christmas is in deep trouble and the Democrats need to look elsewhere. The Democrats, or at least some democrats, are already seeking an ‘other’, an alternative to Hillary and the powers and influences in the Democrat Party will refuse to allow Bernie Sanders to be their candidate for two main reasons, he supports Israel and he supports Israel because of his Jewishness. That leaves the Obama candidate which at the moment is Joe Biden. Joe Biden, really? Oh the articles would write themselves simply by listening to him and getting two juicy tidbits each and every week. There was an interesting meeting which might produce an alternative which might just sell to the Democrats and which would be the not Clinton and not Obama candidate, though the Obama machine handlers might believe there was hope there but might find a stronger willed person than they expect. Bernie Sanders met with Senator Elizabeth Warren though there has been little reported about the outcome of their little tête-à-tête. Should Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren decide to run as a team, then we would bet that as long as she is at the top of the ticket and he is her Vice President and they can come across convincingly that he will be a large and steadying figure deeply steeped into her decision making and her number one and indispensable advisor, then they would storm the ramparts and conquer the Democrat Party nomination hands down and very likely continue on to take the Presidency despite the obvious drawbacks. Yes, Elizabeth Warren is an untested with as shallow a record as President Obama had and many would claim even less qualified, but she has the gifts of, like Obama, a natural campaigner, and should Hillary falter she would likely have the Clinton’s support, unless she did not need it and had the backers behind Obama come to influence her. They might find her someone far more independent and free thinking and less likely to just take orders, so the Obama people would likely choose somebody more easily managed and molded, somebody without the necessary brains and backbone to resist having their strings pulled, and we are in no way suggesting that Joe Biden has these characteristics. Where we think a Warren-Sanders ticket would work well with the public, it might not work as well as Sanders-Warren ticket, which was likely their discussion and it is doubtful she would take that deal. So, there is everything we know and up to date analysis from out there beyond the cusp.

Debate One of the United States Presidential Elections, the Republican

The initial debate for the Presidency of the United States was supposed to present the Republican candidates. This was accomplished by Fox News but not if all you watched was the prime time debate with The Donald, The Bush, and the other eight candidates. Wait, you exclaim, aren’t there seventeen candidates? True, but for the other seven, the second tier candidates determined from the average of five polls taken up to about a month ago were put on before prime time and scheduled so their debate would not bore anybody with their skills. That was unless you were former Ohio Governor John Kasich who was thrust onto the stage with the other first tier candidates without having even been listed in the five polls as nobody even realized he would run. Fair or not, he waited until the Friday a week before the first debates to declare he was in, but the debate was being held in Ohio; so out with Texas’s former governor Rick Perry and in with the man from Ohio as one must respect the location over the locution. So, for those who were expecting to see how Rick Perry might compare with Huckabee, Christie, Paul (Rand, not Ron), Rubio, Carson, Walker, Cruz, The Donald, The Bush and by location over locution as he had hardly said anything other than I’m running and I’m the hometown boy, gotta love me, Kasich; you were out of luck as he was on with the presumed also-rans who were on before you got home from work as why would anybody care about the underdog seven. I am aware that you can and will hear all about the first tier candidate debate and I can give you my synopsis in a couple of sentences with a lot of comas or whatever follows in my brief and somewhat unique views. The vicious and venomous questioning, especially by Megan Kelly, focused on The Donald from the opening question where the ten were challenged to declare by not raising their hands that they were not going to run as an independent if they were not the Republican candidate. Everybody who has an ounce of sense or had paid even a modicum of attention already knew The Donald had stated such might be an alternative if he felt he had been cheated from a fair and even shot at the Republican candidacy. Well, congratulations Fox, you took the first step in making sure that The Donald has solid proof he was treated very differently and cheaply with targeting to make him look as bad as humanly possible. They also ignored Ben Carson for most of the debate and the questions were relatively sophomoric and too much time was spent to show the erudite and beautiful people of Fox and less so the Candidates. So the main debate mostly proved that The Donald will apparently be targeted with every possible cheap shot even to include every potentially embarrassing moment or every demeaning comment, especially if they were made towards a woman, or bankruptcy of one of his many firms which failed and declared in efforts to make The Donald look like some monster from the political black lagoon. The rest of the main debate did little to enlighten and was to me a disappointment, especially after witnessing the first half of the debates which was conducted in a more casual and far less acidic or vindictive manner and by being so more informative. There was no pitting of one candidate against another to maximize animus between the candidates and just simple questions which did not always require or receive simple answers. So, on to the so-called junior varsity.

Republican Debate #1 The Donald, Bush, Kasich, Huckabee, Christie, Paul, Rubio, Carson, Walker, Cruz, Perry, Carly Fiorina, Pataki, Jindal, Gilmore, Graham, Santorum

Republican Debate #1
The Donald, Bush, Kasich, Huckabee, Christie, Paul, Rubio, Carson, Walker, Cruz, Perry, Carly Fiorina, Pataki, Jindal, Gilmore, Graham, Santorum

The second seven was presumably to be led by the recently demoted Rick Perry included in the order given by the CNN recap so the order is not mine, Carly Fiorina, George Pataki, Bobby Jindal, Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham and Rick Santorum. Some of these candidates gave exactly what those who follow politics fully expected and there were a few presumed surprises. Rick Perry was sporting his new ‘Geek’ eyeglasses which have been critiqued as improving his appearance giving him an intellectual appearance and making him look so much more serious. I might disagree on the better look but if he is going for a more Geek Squad look may I advise having a pocket protector, driving a black and white two tone VW bug (the new variety) and maybe on occasion to show his fighting spirit some white tape on the bridge of his new black rimmed glasses. Other than the new look, his performance was better but not the most polished of the candidates with uncomfortable pauses which perhaps some might call intellectual pauses while others might call them fumbling for how to phrase his answer half-way through his response. Much of his performance was quite adequate but not stellar or overly exciting. His debate performance did provide competence and we did not have anywhere near his listing the three departments he would terminate immediately after he walked into the Oval Office, the Department of Education and unlike Governor Perry I cannot even remember the other two, he only missed one but my excuse is it is four years later. In all honesty, he would have fit comfortably in the later debate but may end up being better served for being with the smaller field and getting more response time and higher quality questions without the gotchas.

Next up, Rick Santorum, a known entity, was questioned pointedly as to whether he thought that he had had his time and perhaps he should retire from the field instead of running again. His answer was equally pointed pointing out that despite many media and other forces made his candidacy an uphill struggle not mentioning the fact that the win they had referred to in Iowa as a win was carried in the media asking what he was going to prove after losing Iowa when in reality it was announced a month later after the actual counting was completed that he had won Iowa at which point such coverage of who won Iowa was relegated to yesterday’s news after a brief mention of the actual count. Rick Santorum was upbeat and positive and showed his usual casual manner which has charmed people and showed his warm nature combined with a down to earth common sense which also makes people feel comfortable and relating to him especially when meeting him personally.

Bobby Jindal was excellent and shone brightly. He answered the questions posed him knowledgably and with an erudite vocabulary which might even pass muster with Bill O’Reilly. I have high hopes that Bobby Jindal will be in the top tier for the next debate and hope he is still around for March 1, aka Super Tuesday. Should he continue his level of performance, then he should be pretty much guaranteed to not only make it to Super Tuesday but potentially well beyond. I was pleasantly impressed with Bobby Jindal.

We can cover Jim Gilmore, former Governor of Virginia, and Lindsey Graham, Senior Senator of South Carolina, together as both were adequate and bland and unimpressive. Lindsey Graham would have been far more impressive if he did not have a long history which explained why he has worked so well with Democrats in the Senate, he often could almost be caucusing with them and sometimes his cooperation to go along to get along attitude makes him a dangerous candidate as the Republican base will largely stay home should he be the Republican candidate. Jim Gilmore was simply without spirit or excitement and a perfectly calm and overly responsible candor which will likely not grab the attention of voters but the early primaries will determine that for both men.

George Pataki, former Governor of New York, was even headed whose seeming biggest claims were to have lowered crime and turned around the state of New York and having been Governor of New York during the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and a fourth jet which was brought down by the passengers preventing it from reaching its target somewhere in Washington D.C. The problem is that in a debate should he make those same claims any Democrat opponent would accuse him of claiming the gains which actually were almost exclusively due to improvements made in New York City by Mayor Rudy Giuliani and that would be the talk of the town for the rest of the campaign and the media would sink him over accusations he was attempting to mislead people over his accomplishments.

Lastly, Carly Fiorina who is the former CEO of Hewlett Packard. I will freely admit that I had extremely high expectations of Carly Fiorina even before the debates. From the majority of reports of her appearances she had wowed audiences wherever she appeared. She was said to be informative, well briefed, real and most of all comfortable before the people and gracious with her time when answering questions. Her weakness was her unknown political status as she has never held political elected office and was chosen for the position of CEO of Hewlett Packard which is not exactly an elected position but one where an election of sorts is taken to select one for such a position. Some of my readers had also alerted me to keep her in mind, so that had whetted my appetite even more. I must say I was satisfied and then some. She answered as if she had been in politics all her life with a calm assurance and steady calm tones of a polished professional, but then she was a professional with plenty of speaking engagements. Her story of her experience and how she eventually gained the position of CEO at Hewlett Packard where she has told she started as a secretary at a at a nine person real estate firm and worked her way from there into the CEO spot, something extraordinary and unbelievably impressive. I would be very happy for the last two standing to be Carly Fiorina and Bobby Jindal and believe a final debate between just these two would be able to raise money for the eventual winner’s campaign by selling tickets and having it as a pay per view on cable TV and also on the internet. When it comes to trading barbs with Hillary Clinton I have a feeling that Carly Fiorina would almost relish the opportunity. If she does not make it to the top of the ticket, maybe after Biden or Sanders or whoever defeats Hillary and has Clinton as their running mate, that would be sufficient reason for the Republican candidate to have Carly Fiorina as their running-mate if only for the setup of the woman on woman debate of the century.

Is it too much to ask that we have a Fiorina-Jindal ticket in either order, please?

Is the Fight for the Heart of the Republican Party Over?

Those of us old enough to remember back forty to fifty years might recall the period where the Democrat Party went through the final fight for its heart and soul between the old Blue Dog Democrats and the International Collectivist Socialists who eventually won out. The transition was started by President Lyndon B. Johnson and those who backed George McGovern for the nomination in 1972 closed the transition of the Democrat Party. It was these powers who brought forth such Democrat Presidential candidates as President Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, and so forth right up to the current President, Barack Obama. The Democrat Party became a wholly owned subsidiary of the AFL-CIO affiliated Unions, the Teachers Unions, the community organizers, the NAACP, and at the controls pulling all the strings were the International Socialists also referred to as the Communists. There have been those Democrat candidates who were not solidly under the control of these puppet masters but they have been few and have had to allow much of the programs and legislation proposed by the Socialists in order to also be able to serve their own preferences.

The battle for the Democrats being settled, the fight over whether these same interests will be in control of the Republican Party has now been in progress for the past twenty years. The International Collectivist Socialists go by many other names as to use either their long title or the simple title of Communists would make their acceptance by the American public that much more difficult. This fight to convert the United States into imply another European styled socialist state has been ongoing since the early 1900s but was interrupted by the two World Wars which demanded that the United States be united in a patriotic fervor backing the troops in what were necessary fights to retain freedom and this fight was supported by the socialists as well as by patriots and virtually all of the politicians. The early politicians behind this slow takeover of the American political scene called themselves Progressives and touted the idea that the people should hold the power over all elected officials. This was not their end goal but they used this in order to pass under a populist demand, the Amendment XVII, which allowed for the direct election of United States Senators taking their selection away from the individual States. This simple Amendment to the Constitution completely removed the individual States from being represented in the Federal Government which had been one of the checks and balances that prevented the Federal government from steamrolling over the States. Before the passage of the Amendment XVII the Federal Government was checked by the States from imposing unfunded mandates upon the States leading to laying additional expenditures on the States for programs designed in Washington but dropped in the lap of the States to run and finance their implementation and enforcement. Since the passage this method of pushing programs onto the States has been one of the methods by which the Federal Government has introduced new programs and initiatives and paid the introductory period after which it falls to the States to continue the implementation and all that entailed. Eventually these programs and expenditures grew to the point that they helped make a slowdown in the economy turn into the Great Depression. This economic downturn while passing within a couple of years in Europe where the governments were gridlocked and failed to act allowing for a natural recovery, in the United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt tried one program after another changing approaches every few months never giving any one approach time to actually accomplish the desired goals. Despite the claims that President Roosevelt’s programs finally led to the end of the Great Depression, the real solution was because the onset of World War II and the American entry into the war put an end to any attempts to spur the economy as the war footing production brought the economy back to full productive capacity out of necessity. Still, after the war the people had grown suspicious of anything tied to the Progressive agenda so the Progressives simply rebranded themselves as the Liberals. Recent history has tarnished the liberal brand to the point that Hillary Clinton actually claimed not to be a liberal but rather she was a classical turn of the century Progressive.

So, for simplicity let us use the preferred terminology and refer to the collectivists by the name they prefer, Progressives. The Republican Party has, for all intents and purposes, been hijacked by the Progressives who are almost exactly the same as the Progressive Democrats except they claim that their methods would be a better approach because they will utilize a market based system. The words sound great except there is no actual way to use a market based system as these programs all result in top down big government programs which eventually result in higher taxes and always exceed all expected costs and grow seemingly exponentially. If you listened to Jeb Bush give his ideal approach to addressing Obama Care recently he claimed that what the Republicans needed to do was sit back and allow for Obama Care to fall apart and prove impossible and then propose a Republican run version of government healthcare and extoll the benefits of the Republican plan which would be market based, whatever that means when you have a government run healthcare system. Senator John McCain expressed the desire for the Republicans to wait for Obama Care to fail and then the Republicans could adjust, amend and generally repair those items that did not function of Obama Care and then the Republicans could claim the credit for a functioning government run healthcare. Do either of those ideas sound like a Constitutional approach or does it simply sound like they want the Republicans to simply become Democrat Lite? The truth, and it is an unfortunate truth, is that the Republican hierarchy and leadership are almost as progressive and collectivist as are the Democrats and we are rapidly heading to a one and a half party system where in too many instances there would be virtually no difference between the Democrat and the Republican beyond their language, both would work towards the same big government solutions and the complete abandonment of the American Constitution. As the next weeks and months pass just watch how Republicans treat those such as Senator Cruz and the true Conservatives in the House of Representatives and the Senate as well as the old line Republicans gathering to push the chosen 2016 Presidential candidate, Jeb Bush. While watching this also ask yourself what are the real differences between Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush other than Jeb is somewhat less annoying to listen to. It may surprise you when you compare them issue to issue and find the difference is a matter of shade, not substance.
