Why Begrudge Us this Little Haven

One thing history has taught is that even when the Jewish People come to a nation at its behest and help to modernize that nation, with time everything which went or will ever go wrong is heaped upon us along with the vile degradations and then the threats to our lives. This has occurred throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. It has happened across South and Central America, Russia and has even come to parts of Asia despite there being next to nothing resembling a large Jewish population. It has come to the United States and Canada, though in a less obvious measure, and thus has largely been swept under the carpet, for now. There was the infamous General Order No. 11 (1862) given by Major-General Ulysses S. Grant of December 17, 1862, during the American Civil War which ordered the expulsion of all Jews in his military district comprising areas of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky. The claim came that he was attacking the Black Markey in the region which he just knew had to be a Jewish operation. Yes, President Lincoln immediately rescinded the order, but the days or weeks or whatever it took to have the order received in Washington DC and then be removed, brought to the attention of the President, the rescinding order written and that sent back to General Grant and then the slow, probably intentionally slow, implementation walking back the original orders, well, as you might suspect the time that took proved detrimental to a good number of Jews of the region. Grant’s General Order No. 11 is noteworthy in that it depicts the tainting of one’s logical thought processes by the disease of anti-Semitism. An individual or group suffering this ailment automatically associates everything nefarious, underhanded, evil or illegal immediately into some Jew plot and more often than not, for monetary gain. Proof, with anti-Semitism your proof is very simple; it is the Jews, what else could one suspect. This has been repeated throughout human history for as long as the Jews have existed, which is pretty much throughout human history. It has happened in every form from the framing of Alfred Dreyfus by the elites of the French Army to cover their own perfidy, to Hitler, to Pharaoh of Egypt, to the Tsars of Russia, to the Spanish Inquisition, to Muhammad and the Jews of Medina and on and on. One can only conclude that eventually, every group will desire to disassociate themselves from the Jews and then cast them off by exile, murder or even attempting genocidally wiping them from the Earth as Hamas, Iran and others in today’s world proudly declare.

Any normative peoples would have decided that, as a rule, they were less than desirable and would have separated from the rest of humanity long ago. We were not even permitted this as the world knew from exactly which little piece of lands we originate. They all knew exactly where we would have gladly moved, at least the majority of us, and made a go of it in a land half desert and half swamp with large boulders strewn throughout the swamps and hilly lands. It was carefully laid out in many languages all from the claimed original Greek copy of texts presumed to have been compiled during the Babylonian Exile, our third as a people with the Egyptian Exile chronicled in that book and the Assyria Exile chronicled in later books which took Ten of the Tribes and they became the Ten Lost Tribes, some of whom are returning in this modern era. Actually, most nations have chronicled parts of our history as you wrote them into your laws and were proud of your acts. Christian, Muslim, it made little if any difference and both blame that the other was worse to the Jewish People and they only did that which was absolutely necessary and needed. Jerusalem destroyed and Israel broken in exile would provide for needed introspection and broadened experience eventually spreading Jews throughout the world and assuring their survival, even if often under hardships. Even Muslim amongst Muslim and Christian amongst Christian, each would finger point to those who were more to blame, and when torture and murder are the acts of the day and you are the target, it matters little who was worse and who was better, you were all barbarous when it came to the Jewish People. True, not always and some even claimed to have mended their ways, for now, because we have learned that our acceptance is always temporary and depends on times being good and nothing going wrong, and even then, ours is a precarious perch.

When a people live always waiting for the other shoe to drop, they get nervous and react in various ways. Some become differential and make themselves small. A few make them selves threatening ready to take on even the most insignificant slight. Some become conspiracy conscious seeing malice behind every door. Some become the jolly joker in attempts to endear themselves. Most just work hard, work quiet, are industrious, avoid standing apart, are agreeable to a fault and become a form of every-man where they have no identity and allow others to assign whatever identity they prefer. These are all forms of defensiveness and are mechanisms one adopts to cope. All rob one of their real identities which they mask behind their façade. This also results in a people to become very adept at any profession and often they will excel at what in the early days was a disreputable means of making one’s living and eventually became the mainstay of economies. Such an example is what was forced upon the Jews in Medieval Europe and the Islamic worlds, money-lending. That practice which was denied to the religious but so necessary for commerce and running a nation became the forerunner of the banking industry of today which now it is claimed the Jews took over through devious means. The devious means was having it thrust upon us by those who would not soil their hands or reputations but had no problem soiling our hands and reputations as we had no reputations of note and who cared about the Jew lending money, the most dishonorable of affairs. We were denied wealth and title and thus denied ownership of land so we became tailors, cobblers, smiths and these led to the other more specialized trades with time. We were the People of the Book and also people of books as we, as a people, were literate and taught our young to read and write at an early age. They were required first to learn Hebrew so they could pray, and also Arabic or Aramaic to read the early commentaries. Then we taught them the language of the nation in which we resided, and the then might learn the language of the land from where Grandfathers were chased. This led to the Jewish People become international merchants and known for learning languages easily. This led to Jews running import-export businesses and large retail networks and now on-line shopping. This from the little tailor’s shop where the spectacled little man sewed for a living five-hundred years ago and now it is Levi-Straus because he saw the need for a well made and rugged work pants for the men on the railroads and in the mines and on the plains. But even these reputed giants will shrink when the pogroms come. They will be forced to flee, yes, eventually even from the United States and many can see that approaching already, others refuse to see, some always refuse to see.

Give us a safe space of what had been determined to be lands worthless to nearly everybody else, well, until the late nineteenth century. Read about Israel circa the mid nineteenth century in Mark Twain’s “Letters from the Holy Lands”, a sub-part of his Travels Abroad writings. Twain describes a barren land where people are as sparse as is the vegetation. Others writing for the British after World War I describe Malaria and an inhospitable place. Twain describes the few Arabs and Jews he met and claimed one could more often than not differentiate between the two people simply by observing their level of industriousness. The British Home Office described what they saw and often they saw that it was far easier to throw the Jews out of their homes and dispossess them than it was to fire one shot into the air from a sidearm to break-up an Arab riot. One might conclude that many British sought any reason to try to dispossess the Jews of these lands, often just for spite. The French sent most of their Jews from their Mandate to the British Mandate, as they had no need or claim to need the Jews. The French formed two states, Syria for the Arabs and Lebanon for the Christians, though that was not the final word on the matter as the Arabs had their own ides, Syria for the Arabs and Lebanon for the Arabs. The Arabs won and the Christians are continuing to flee from Lebanon when they are able. The British did all they could to try and prevent the Jews from ever forming their state of Israel but the Jews are sometimes an insistent group. The British formed Jordan for the Arabs and placed as many Arabs as they believed would prevent any Jewish state, but they miscalculated as the Mufti of Jerusalem called for the Muslims to leave Israel so the invading Arab armies from six nations and additional militias could simply cleanse the lands of every person they met. The Mufti promised them they could then enrich themselves on the spoils of the Jews. That was the Arab plan, destroy Israel and it too would be for the Arabs, but something went wrong. Those Jews who were often claimed to have no stomach for a fight or to be timid little people rose to be giants and Israel survived that onslaught.

The world, that of Christians and Muslims, have been working politically for another rerun of the Arabs supposedly slaughtering the Jews of Israel ever since them. There was the Six Day War in June 1967, the Yom Kippur War of October 1973 and a long and slow terror war since the first day of May 15, 1948. There have been numerous means of attempting to gift a state to the Arabs within the legal limits of the Jewish state with the Arabs always holding out for the entirety to be gifted them with the Jews on a platter. We would gladly make a deal with the world, if only they would take it. Give us the region promised with the Jordan River as our eastern border, the Golan Heights in the northeast, and the remainder as it is set in treaties and the United Nations set borders. We will be friendly and those Arabs who wish us harm, well, cannot have them around within our borders, so we will give them to whomever is willing to harbor them. Those who desire to remain we will grant resident alien and allow them to rule their own areas while we retain the lands as part of our state. As legal resident aliens, they will not be permitted votes in our national elections. This has functioned thusfar with the Arabs in Eastern Jerusalem. We will not tolerate terrorism or attacks upon our people of any kind, Jew on Arab or Arab on Jew or intra-fraternal violence. We will share our developments, discoveries, inventions, programming marvels, agricultural inventiveness, crop breeds, advances in medicines, new drugs and all the other beneficial items. The byword will be permit and assist us to living in peace and we will be the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg. You do remember that cutting open the goose led to discovering that it was simply a magical goose, that once killed, it could only be stuffed, roasted and served when it reached a nice golden brown, but no longer would there be golden eggs. Remember that tale, as we can be that goose for the world as it is what we were to strive to become, and we are prepared to give it our best shot. It really would be to everyone’s advantage if we were left in peace on our little plot of lands which one requires a magnifying glass to even find us on the average globe, providing one even knows where to look. But, apparently, even this is too much for much of the world to accept, proof we really have not come anywhere near as far as some claim, and that is truly sad. Hopefully, you will not be all that put out if we hold on to this little piece of land while we await you realizing the benefits of our offer. Call us.

Paranoid Ravings in my Head

Israel is in an extremely vulnerable place at this moment, and it has little to do with anything outside of the government. The first and most obvious reality is that a sixty-one Minister coalition in a one-hundred-twenty Minister Knesset is cutting a majority as fine as possible. Add to that the reversal of the Jewish Home Party leadership of Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked to remain in the coalition presumably preventing the need for elections. Still, there is a danger as this feels so much like former periods, either 1992 or 2005. What are these years that pop right out of my fevered mind? Well, in 1992, the right of center coalition collapsed into a big balagan (mess). When the elections were held, a left of center, fairly far to the left, came to power and within a year we had the Oslo Accords which has led to most of the tragedies ever since. Then in 2005, the Likud Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was unable to push through the United States pressed idea that if the Palestinian Authority were to be given Gaza completely free of all and any Israeli presence or interventions then there would be peace. He dissolved the government he had and replaced it with a new coalition of left of center parties, parties which have simply and often monetary demands to be part of a coalition who have no concern between right and left, and his newly formed Party of Kadima, currently headed by Shaul Mofaz and Tzipi Livni. This government enacted the Gaza disengagement which became every disaster which the Zionist right predicted including everything we are facing today including the current balagan. Now, there is one more reason to be worried, Benyamin Netanyahu has previously stated that Ariel Sharon was his role model and he saw him as a mentor. So, now let’s talk about the paranoid ravings going on in my head.

My paranoid ravings include the reason that Jewish Home Party (our party) remained in the coalition and it is a doozy. By remaining in the coalition, there is absolutely no reason for Prime Minister Netanyahu to form what is often called a National Unity Government. My twisted mind could not help but see Prime Minister Netanyahu turning around and forming such a coalition bringing the Zionist Union (Labor plus Kadima) and Yesh Atid which would actually give the center left parties the majority of votes as in a coalition of sixty-five members, the votes would be Likud (right) with thirty and Zionist Union and Yesh Atid (left) with the other thirty-five. The other parties of the coalition would probably be evicted to make this coalition, especially any right wing, nationalist or Zionist parties, as that would be a demand from the Zionist Union in order for their agreeing to join. This would have led to some decisions which could have produced some catastrophic results and would be sold as reversible should they not produce the desired results. Funny, that was the guarantee given by United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and President George W. Bush when the Gaza disengagement was enacted. Well, there is no doubting that the Gaza disengagement was a complete failure and there has been no concept of Israel simply taking back the region, as the world, the United States included, appear to treat Gaza as if it were an actual country. The Zionist Union still believes that the rosy scenarios of the Oslo Accords will bring peace if only they would be enacted and Yair Lapid is another Two-State Solution politician though he talks as if he were far right depending on the audience. Lapid is very good at reading a teleprompter and as such can say anything to any group sounding convincing due to his former profession as a newscaster who could be convincing reading the news. It is plausible that such a National Unity government would go so far as to removing the majority of the Jews beyond the Green Line including all in the parts of eastern Jerusalem and surrendering parts of the Triangle of Arab towns bordering the Green Line such that the area is equal to the area of land of the Jordanian region held between 1949 and 1967. The one fortunate thing is that it is very likely that Mahmoud Abbas would refuse such an agreement, but it is also possible that this may be part of the “Deal of the Century” and as such Abbas may not have any choice as it is possible that President Trump might tell him either accept the settlement or be replaced by one who will accept the deal. This would be a disaster for Israel, as it would grant the Palestinian Arabs a region overlooking Tel Aviv and surrounding areas. What makes it even worse is it would probably take Hamas almost two or three weeks before they would take control in another coup and Abbas would be fortunate to get his three sons and himself out before they would be put on trial and executed by Hamas, it would be a very quick trial. Then Hamas would have the overlooking hills noted below. They would also have a perfect ambush position for Trans-Israel Highway Route 6, a major north-south highway.

It is fine to call me an alarmist who imagines the worst of all possible available options. Well, there is an advantage in that I am often pleasantly surprised and at worst, I am prepared for the worst, unless there is something even worse, which is possible. The problem which causes me to see these less than optimum potentialities is called experience. Whenever the left, the liberals, and the right, the conservatives share power, what I have experienced is that the left gets most of their agenda and manage to pretty much destroy the agenda on the right. Remember that President Ronald Reagan was presumed to have accomplished most of what he desired despite having a Congress where at least one chamber was controlled by the Democrats. They claim he got much of his defense budget and a fair amount of his tax cuts and kept regulations down to a mere simmering. The problem is he will always remain known for increasing the national debt to levels which were before his Presidency considered impossible and would lead to economic disasters. AIDS advocates have asserted Mr. Reagan’s lacked leadership on fighting the disease despite it being discovered by the Centers for Disease Control early in his administration. Reagan’s attempts to shrink the government and turn many functions over to the individual state saw some victories and some direct set-backs as he lost ground to the unions and Democrats protecting their little fiefdoms. Perhaps his greatest victory in this area was his firing of the Air Traffic Controllers and replacing them as he threatened to do if they chose to go one strike, they called his bluff and Reagan was not bluffing. President Reagan’s subsequent President, George H. W. Bush, lost to Democrat pressure when he went back on his promise of “No new taxes.” His raising taxes as a compromise with the Democrats led to his loss in the ensuing election putting William Jefferson Clinton in the White House. You cannot lose any more than that. When the left supposedly shares power with the right, they appear to almost always come out gaining far more of their agenda than does the right. This also has been evident in the general drift of politics as a whole in the developed world with one exception, Israel, but the struggle is nowhere near decided.

If one were to examine what the left supported back in the 1950’s and early 1960’s one would think they were examining the platform of the current right. The theory is that the pendulum in politics swings left, then right, and back to left and right and on and on. Well, that is valid to a point but then when one takes a far lengthier examination, one sees a constant drift to the left end of the political spectrum. Examples are abundant. First, the United States Constitution and Declaration of Independence were far left platforms and agendas at the time of their adoption and the Founding Fathers were on the far left of political outlooks. Before the American Revolution the left was represented by the revolutionary concept contained in the Magna Carta. The idea was in Britain that the slave trade was an abomination when Parliament passed on March 25, 1807, the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act. It took a while for enforcement to catch up with traders and before the century was out the British navy was firing on slave ships often sinking the ships putting them out of the business. This fairly soon led to the end of slave trade in the western hemisphere. These are landmarks where leftist ideas were enacted and, in many cases, never were reversed. We could list women’s rights such as the vote and then the civil rights movement leading to the vote for blacks. We are not complaining about these advancements, but this shows that humans are making progress in granting greater freedoms and rights to the people over the years. But are these ideas honestly from the left or can they be found in something far more ancient?

Some of you probably know where we are heading, so off we go. Slavery was set to be abolished in the Torah given by Moses to the Israelites at Mount Sinai. Where it did not outright ban slavery, something which was common in every other civilization in the world, but it placed a limit on the length of time a slave could be kept before being granted their freedom. This was limited to other Jews which is always pointed out in order to claim it was not as great an idea as stated. This was the first time that any form of slavery was placed under a limit. The Torah also states the rights of slaves to proper treatment, being well cared for and fed as well as some form of salary for their own uses. When all the rules are considered, these people were more employees than they were slaves. The reason they were considered slaves was that they resided either in their master’s house or in some place on the owner’s property in housing which had minimal requirements to provide for their comforts. There were a number of other laws and views within Torah and later in the Talmud, which is the Rabbinic commentary and discourse from which the Oral Law is derived and it is still possible to add to these writings starting new discourse. Jews, often not the most religious, have been at the forefront of leftist movements throughout history, even those which resulted in unbelievable anti-Semitism. A perfect example of such is Communism where in Russia one of the founders was Leon Trotsky who was Jewish and was murdered by Stalin. Jews were part of the formation and organizing of the early labor unions which faced some extreme violence such as the Coal Wars and the Colorado Union Wars at the start of the twentieth century. This has continued right to the modern day where the Jews, particularly the non-Torah observant, are still standing at the liberal left cusp and beyond the cusp at the furthest leftist edges. This includes those who want to give the Palestinian Arabs their own nation which would be founding something which had never previously existed. The idea of giving the Palestinian Authority a state or recognizing Hamas in Gaza would be commensurate with recognizing the State declared by ISIS when they announced they were the new Caliphate. They even had a flag and held a parade declaring their being the Caliphate, the true state leading the entirety of Islam.

The ISIS Caliphate

The ISIS Caliphate

Back to Israel and the entities claiming that they are the real owners of everything between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, with Hamas actually claiming they will be a worldwide force which will rid the entirety of the globe of Jews and other non-Muslims who refused to convert. For all arguments sake, there is little if any difference between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas other than the Palestinian Authority is a nationalist group with religious overtones and Hamas is religious revolutionary group with nationalist overtones and basically in the final result there is no difference between them and little difference with either of these terrorist entities and ISIS. This is an important fact because the world, or at least a great amount of the world even including Islamic forces, gathered with many having to be transported from one-quarter of the way to half-way around the globe in order to eradicate the Caliphate formed by ISIS but Israel is pressured to find common ground with Hamas and provide the Palestinian Authority lands so they can have a state. Does anyone else see a double standard in these political machinations? We most definitely do and hope that at no point is there a state for the Palestinian Authority while making nice-nice with Hamas and Islamic Jihad. So a word unifies to rid the world of Islamic terrorists claiming to be a new nation but Israel is supposed to live with terrorists claiming to be a new nation and provide another terrorist group lands from out of our nation which is the size of New Jersey so they can claim to be a new nation.

This double standard will eventually, the sooner the better, reach a date where it will have become so stale that it will no longer prevent corrective actions. Those actions will be Israel finally taking back the regions which actually legally were set aside by the world after World War I for the Jewish State. But there will probably be further actions in which Israel will also advance such that the Litani River will be her northern border and the eastern Beqaa Valley in Lebanon replacing the regions currently being used by Hezballah. The one remaining question is what will be the initiating event which will bring on this further development of the State of Israel and the return of the remainder of Lebanon to the Maronite Christians for whom Lebanon was initially set aside for them. This will right some serious and historically deadly wrongs which have plagued the Levant. The remaining question is whether or not Syria and Iran will be involved in such a defining struggle. This is not something anyone in Israel anticipates with anything but abject fear and abhorrence. Israel would far prefer that the nations of the world would simply find a righteous solution which manages to keep the promises made to the Zionist Congress in the San Remo Conference, the Mandate System, and enforceable under Article 80 of the United Nations Charter. Israel is small when compared to the Arab and Muslim world as depicted in the above map where Israel is in red so it is visible and the green is the Muslim world. Does anybody know how many of the so-called Palestinian Arab refugees the Muslim world has absorbed rather than forcing them to remain in camps surrounded with barbed wire? The answer is none or virtually none. These Arabs are mostly people who came to Israel after 1875 following the initial Zionists arriving and providing jobs. Eventually, the British found that there were not sufficient Arabs to outnumber Jews so they started to pay Arabs to move to the region which was to be Israel and in the end forcefully brought Arabs into the region. One might ask why the British were being so treacherous and the answer is simply they were attempting to prevent Israel from being founded. Finally, the vast majority of the refugees fled from what would become Israel at the behest of the Mufti of Jerusalem who promised them the spoils of the Jews once the Arabs slaughtered the Zionists. The Arabs failed to wipe Israel from existence but they did manage to take half of Jerusalem, parts of the Shomron by Jordan and Gaza by Egypt. Those were areas held illegally and were the result of an offensive war. Then in 1967 Egyptian President Nasser said that Egypt and Syria, at that time the United Arab Republic, were going to drive the Jews into the sea and Jordan joined late in the first day. The result of their assault on Israel was the loss of the Golan Heights, Eastern Jerusalem and the areas of the Shomron held by Jordan, Gaza and the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula. All of these lands could remain with Israel until the nations who lost made peace, then whatever the two parties agreed upon would be the new borders. Egypt released their claim to Gaza but refused to take the people which were questionable under international law, as they had allowed many Egyptians to move into the region making them responsible for the population. Jordan relented on Jerusalem and the Shomron making the Jordan River as the border. Their later claim was they had ceded the Shomron and East Jerusalem to the PLO, which was an illegal move under international law. Unfortunately, we once again find that there apparently are two completely separate sets of rules, one entirely delineated and set down in laws and another being made up as we go along always attempting to destroy Israel and replace it with anything which is not Jewish. This has been the basic concept behind much of the world and how they treat the Jewish State of Israel. Europe has been working for the destruction of Israel to the extent that British and German officers from World War II were advising Arab forces in their war to eradicate Israel on the day of her birth, May 15, 1948. They have never let up on pressuring Israel by many means despite gladly accepting those items discovered, produced, invented, programmed, scripted and other various creations which better their lives or provide a better or richer life. The Arab and Muslim worlds have also worked often to destroy Israel largely through the terrorist groups perched on the Israel borders. The United Nations has altered their feelings towards Israel from favorable in 1948 to adversarial by the 1960’s all but attempting to revoke their recognition and expelling Israel from the United Nations. Then there are the Nonaligned Nations of the NAM group who are allied with the Muslim and Arab worlds, especially the ones favoring the left. Finally, Israel is moving rapidly to a partisan issue in the United States where the Democrats are sliding over to an adversarial position while the Republicans are supporters due to the Evangelical Christians. The Soviet Union started by supporting Israel but soon decided Israel was not going to be another Communist nation and started backing the Arab world. There is the prediction that the entire world will one day stand against Jerusalem, or Israel, and that is when the Messiah comes and the forces from Hashem and Heaven come down and Hashem then judges the nations. I am not sure that such an event would be as glorious as many claim, as such a force would be fought with everything the rest of the world has in their arsenals. That would prove futile, but still would be quite destructive to the Earth itself. Not a day which anybody would desire witnessing, but the way everything is falling apart, that day could be here before we know it. Bless Hashem, as we will accept as He sees fit.

Abbas Reveals the Palestinian Demands

Mahmoud Abbas revealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, “We state that from now on we refuse to cooperate in any form with the U.S. in its status of a mediator, as we stand against its actions.” This was a bit of an introduction to their real stance, which is actually no different than it has been since Yasser Arafat or Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammed Amin al-Husseini (Arabic: محمد أمين الحسين); they want it all with no Jewish State, only an Arab Muslim state where the Jews accept Islamic superiority. In a recent speech commemorating fourteen years of the death of Yasser Arafat, his mentor, stated, “The ‘Deal of the Century’ will not pass and the fate of the land of Palestine will be decided by the Palestinian people.” These remarks were quoted by Channel 10 News which went further claiming, “We are remaining on our land and we will continue to act. Our flag will continue to be raised on the walls of Jerusalem as you always wanted,” referencing to Arafat. “The stage that the Palestinian people are going through is one of the most dangerous that has passed so far – the provocation that began with the Balfour Declaration has not yet ended. The occupation must end. You will not find one Palestinian who is willing to renounce the rights of the Palestinian people.” Abbas has also threatened to cut off all relations with Israel if an agreement is made between Israel and Hamas without his approval. He has already stated that there can be no agreement with which he would agree. Mahmoud Abbas has simply taken the position that he opposes any and every peace between Israel and anybody as he claims that all of the lands belong to the Palestinian Authority (PA) and thus Israel does not exist in his view of the world.

We have been listening to Abbas far too long while he has often made the claim that the PA only demands what is theirs, the 22% of the Mandate. Whenever he has made this claim, the Media misrepresented his demand by claiming that the 22% is simply the areas of Gaza, Samaria and Judea, the region of the Shomron beyond the Green Line, as they described his demands for the pre Six Day War lines which are the 1949 Armistice Lines between Jordan and Israel. This is actually inaccurate as these regions while close to 22%, are not the 22% that Abbas demands. What has to be noted is that he claims 22% of the Mandate. When one goes back to the British Mandate and checks the divide between the Arab State and the Jewish State along the Jordan River, delegated 78% of the British Mandate was reserved for Jordan, the Arab State, leaving 22% of the Mandate for the Jewish State, Israel. This is Abbas’s claimed 22% as the word Mandate is referencing the divide between Jordan and Israel in the lands promised by the British when they reached the agreement with the Zionist Congress (see map below). Abbas simply wants the 22% of the Mandate which is Israel. Until the truth of the claims by Mahmoud Abbas and other Arab leaders, who will claim the same demands, the replacement of Israel with an Arab Muslim State with the Jews cared for as Dhimmi initially and eventually the Jews will meet the same end as did the Jews of Medina, the Banu Qurayza. Meanwhile, President Trump has been giving signals that his ‘Deal of the Century’ will soon be made public and that neither side will be happy with everything but they will each also like parts and all will see immediately the reasons for the compromises in the deal. All this attention begs a question, why is Israel so important that the whole world appears to revolve around Jerusalem?

Palestine denoted to be the Jewish State later named Israel

There is a reason why everything around Israel is so important, but one has to look deeply into the history and the positions and why reaching an agreement will signal a seismic shift in the Arab and Islamic view of the world and not merely Israel. We hope that the rest of the world realizes that Israel is not going to surrender and just hope and pray that the Arabs will treat them humanely. So, if an agreement is ever reached, it will signal an acceptance of the Jews to live in peace and security in their ancient homelands, or at least most of their ancient homeland. Such an agreement will signal that Islam in general and Arabs in particular have compromised on their claim that all lands which have ever come under Islamic control, and specifically Arab control, must always remain under Islamic (Arab) rule and must never be permitted to be ruled by any other. What makes Israel even more important in signaling such a change is because the Arabs and many Muslims have a particularly deeper hatred of Jews than any other group of unbelievers. One could logically reach the conclusion that it would be more readily possible that the Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and other religious groups, including secular humanists, could reach an accord of mutual respect than it will ever be for Israel to reach such an acceptance. We would have to, quite reluctantly and unfortunately, agree that this is very likely quite valid. This is why Israel makes the perfect test case. Let us look at the positions of the various groups.

The PA claims they simply desire what is theirs, everything. They claim that they will treat the Jews honestly, which is something we fear with good reason. We know that as Dhimmi there will be demanded that we pay a Jiyza, a tax on the unbelievers in return for which they remain protected. There is no upper limit to the Jiyza which means that at some point the demand could be all of one’s possessions. After that, the Jews would no longer be capable of paying any future Jiyza demand which would remove the obligation to protect the Jews and we all know what follows losing protection. This is the point where the demand becomes convert or die. Still, we would live longer under the PA than we would Hamas. Hamas does not mince words, they simply want to kill every Jew on the planet, and off the planet if we should head out into space. We could find a place where it is obvious from space that we would belong, call it the mythical Planet Israel (depicted below). Of course there is no such myth just as it is highly unlikely that such a planet exists, though most physicists claim that if you can think it, then it probably exists somewhere out in the deepest recesses of space. But the Hatred which the leaders of Hamas express is presumably held throughout much of the Islamic world. So, let us move on to Iran which, while Islamic, is not purely Arab as it is the former state of Persia. The empire which was built by Cyrus the Great who liberated the Jewish People from their exile in Babylon and allowed them to return to their homeland and instructed them to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. That is not the view of the current rulers in Persepolis, oh, sorry, Tehran, as they wish to wipe Israel off the map, or at least this was the wish of their past President, Ahmadinejad. The former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Muhammad Mahathir, is another Islamic leader who has expressed desires to be rid of Israel. The general level of animosity against Israel, and also by many against the United States, was in full evidence when President Trump announced the United States intention to move their embassy to Jerusalem recognizing that Jerusalem was, is and always will be the Capital City of Israel and much of the Islamic world broke out in riots, some staged but most were an actual result of the anger of Muslims worldwide. That was a further proof of the reason that no Arab or Muslim nation is supposed to recognize Israel. It was all placed in the Khartoum Convention and the Three No’s, “No peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with Israel.” That was the decision of the Arab League after their meeting in September of 1967, and was their official position after their loss in the Six Day War with Israel gaining territory which included the Sinai Peninsula, which was returned to Egypt, who released their claim to Gaza, when their peace was reached with Israel. For making this peace, Egypt was evicted from the Arab League for quite a period and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat was assassinated by members of his own military while watching a pass in review of some troops. Later, Jordan also reached peace with Israel releasing their claims to all lands beyond the Jordan River, though they later reneged on that claiming they meant that they gifted those lands to Yasser Arafat and the PLO, a terrorist organization.

In many ways, Abbas took down the couching of their demands and came out stating that the Palestinian Arabs will remain steadfast in claiming the entirety of the Mandate Lands. He has also stated that should Israel reach an accord ending the Gaza violence and rioting along the border that he will break off all negotiations with Israel. Well, that is just wonderful, except one need ask, what negotiations is he speaking of which he will break off? There are no negotiations between the PA and Israel for him to break off, unless he means his repeated denunciations of President Trump and claiming that the United States is no longer an unbiased arbitrator and will be rejected by the PA. Maybe he means his referencing that he would be glad to accept the United Nations General Assembly or similar international group deciding the solution to the Arab-Israeli Conflict. For Israel, that would be like one-hundred-ten wolves and three sheep with thirty or forty cows with ten bulls running for the high ground all deciding what will be on the menu for dinner, and everyone except the sheep are voting sheep or vacating as fast as possible so as not to be dessert. Abbas has been pushing his desire for the conflict solution to be internationalized as he, and we, know what that would bring, the end of Israel. But the only problem we know will be the result is that nobody will ever notice the complete refusal of Abbas to accept anything short of Israel erased and his being placed as the potentate over the new Arab nation of Palestine. We can understand the world ignoring his demand as we have people in Israel who are unaware of his demands simply through willful blindness. Apparently, willful blindness is a politically based disease which goes along with certain political position of which in Israel the Two-State Solution is by far the largest group representing this malady. It is not that Israel would not have accepted a Two-State Solution as we accepted the offered divide offered by the United Nations in 1947 which the Arab League refused instead opting to destroy Israel at her birthing in May of 1948. The Arab League had a half-dozen Arab armies attacked Israel along with numerous militias and volunteers from numerous other nations and assistance by officers from both sides of World War II as advisors. They failed to crush Israel but they did take Gaza and the Shomron (Jordan’s West Bank annexation which they released in their peace with Israel as noted above). We accepted it again with generous offers in 1999-2000 under the auspices of President Willian Jefferson Clinton and again in 2008 with the help of President George W. Bush, the first refused by Yasser Arafat, the second refused by Mahmoud Abbas (Arafat in a suit). Israel had been residing in peace with her Arab neighbors before Egypt and Syria allied with Jordan invaded Israel starting the Six Day War. An uneasy peace continued until the forces from Egypt and Syria attacked starting the Yom Kippur War. The Arabs decided after these two losing efforts by open warfare, they needed to change the equation. This is when they fully backed the efforts of the PLO terror group. This effort changed the worldview from the Arabs as Goliath and the Jews as David to the Arabs as David and the Jews cast as Goliath. The world had absolutely no problem accepting the new venue which cast the Jews as the oppressors instead of the weaker side in the conflict. This has been the situation but now that Abbas has laid out his hand claiming the demand for Israel to be completely destroyed and replaced by an Arab Islamic state with him as the absolute leader, we could hope that somebody out in the greater world will sit up and take notice, but we will not be holding our breath.
