Obama and Abbas to Start Israel Concessions Drive

Now that President Obama has cowed Congressional Senators and a fair number of Representatives into not opposing the Iran deal which was already forced down the throat of all Americans from President Obama taking an end run around Congress by using the Security Council as his enforcer drone making any opposition by Congress a mute matter. Once President Obama had his Chapter Seven United Nations Security Council Resolution giving a huge “Amen” to the Iran deal and side deals making them ‘Kosher’ and imposed upon a largely sleeping and uncaring world, Congress, even if they stopped the deal presumably by overriding a Presidential veto, was powerless to prevent the Iran deal being enforced on the United States. Even if Congress were to impeach President Obama for going to the United Nations as a get around on Congress, the Chapter Seven Resolution would still be enforceable and even with a willing President in the White House, without another repealing vote by the Security Council, the Iran deal is the law of the land as all Chapter Seven Resolutions are enforceable on United Nations members as long as they remain in the United Nations and enforceable even on those who are not members by force of arms by the permanent members of the Security Council and whichever nations they can get to join them. This is one of the fears Israel faces which are the arguments for their remaining in the United Nations as that gives them some influence just for being a part of the discussion and might make some nations to think twice before condemning Israel.

With Mahmoud Abbas basically remaining silent while he has had a number of subordinates trot out the idea that the Palestinian Authority (PA) is about to announce at the United Nations Opening Session Ceremonies that they are disbanding the PA and rejecting the Oslo Accords as unproductive and simply going to announce that the nation of Palestine, thanks to gifts which keep on giving from the United Nations General Assembly and NGOs, is declaring themselves as an occupied nation and petitioning the world to assist them in forcing the occupier from their lands. This threat will be leveraged by President Obama in any meeting he can force between now and then, even if he has to phone Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu twice a day, and three times on Sabbath, either forcing a meeting or simply announcing that he has discussed how Israel would be best served by reinitiating the Peace Process and will be required to make a grand sacrifice in order to get the Palestinians to reenter negotiations as the Palestinian Arab leadership has lost all hope in negotiations. This has been the scene which has played out every off-election year in the United States and the result has been exactly identical under Prime Minister Netanyahu as it has under every other Prime Minister (all of which were Labor leftists except for Prime Minister Sharon who already had collapsed before pressures and disengaged from Gaza which ultimately led to rocket madness with Hamas taking those lands) since the 1993 Oslo Accords were signed. So, in the interest of history remembered possibly being history not repeated, let’s take a look at what these grand sacrifices have produced for Israel since 1993.

The most obvious change since 1993 was the formalizing of the treacherous concept that Israel could trade “Land for Peace” and that this concept was also the way to reach a final accord with the Palestinians Arabs. So every time there were new talks or rumblings of Arabs going to the United Nations, where the Arab League and Unaligned Nations hold a majority in the General Assembly, it has resulted in a minimum of one-hundred out of one-hundred-ninety-three votes against Israel and supporting Arab Palestinian causes, which is why Israel has been denounced by the General Assembly and has been so willing to take steps to appease this “Land for Peace” threat in order to presumably give cover for the United States in the Security Council to fight against any Chapter Seven Resolutions from forcing Israel into a corner or facing military force used by the permanent members by using their veto if required. This had been the latest additional Sword of Damocles hanging over Israel held by President Obama who has more than any President, even George H. W. Bush (Bush Sr.), threatening to withhold the Security Council Veto and allowing the full weight of the United Nations from striking at Israel and forcing them to defend their entire nation from an assault by the remainder of the world, including the United States and the other four permanent members of the Security Council (Russia, China, France, and Britain) from invading with whatever Arabs felt like getting in on the fun and presumed defeat of the ‘Zionist Entity’ by the world at large. So we are now entering the Obama-Abbas Threatening Zone where anything can be demanded and every potential sacrifice threateningly paraded as potential demands eventually weakening the will of the Israeli Prime Minister and the Knesset allowing for grand sacrifices to be extracted.

Obama and Abbas together again and plotting on what to hatch on Netanyahu who is necessarily wary

One has to wonder what an Israeli Prime Minister might be capable of doing in order to counter such a unified threat coming with all sides, even Israeli (quote) friends (unquote) urging that Israel make some grand sacrifice as it is for peace. Somehow they always seem to get Israel when it is for Peace. One will note that they seldom claim it is do this or face complete annihilation. No, they always couch it as for peace. Even the Israelis who fought to have Oslo Accords implemented promised peace. They scream and promise peace, peace, yet there is no peace. And why is there no peace if Israel has regularly backed further into an indefensible corner for peace has peace not developed? Well, because the Arab Palestinians do not desire peace, they desire and will only accept a dead corpse of Israel with six million plus dead Jews as the cherry on top. The Palestinians have refused every offer even one which had been proposed under what Arafat, remember their arch terror leader, Arafat had stipulated the Arabs would accept only to have Arafat stomp indignantly from the next morning’s talks in Paris when President Clinton stated that the Israelis had agreed to release almost ninety-five percent of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), all of Gaza and even split Jerusalem in half allowing for the Eastern portion of Jerusalem to serve as the Palestinian Capital City just as Arafat had demanded the night before to President Clinton as acceptable. So, we have seen the truth of the hand the Arab Palestinians are demanding, even if Israel meets their demands they will walk away and instigate another intifada and blame it on Israel for not making peace. So, what is Israel to do, especially looking down the threats of an adversarial America President?

This is where Israel needs to look at past performances and what those brought. Even with George W. Bush (Bush Jr.) and Bill Clinton in the White House, two of the most pro-Israel Presidents if we are to believe history, and see what working with these brought. Under the assistance of President Clinton the Israelis were steered from the signing of Oslo Accords which defined Area A as Arab, Area C as Israeli and Area B as to be determined and divided as acceptable to each side, where now we have reached the point where Area A and Area B are now Arab, ninety percent of Area C is Arab including east Jerusalem and that is considered a starting point for more concessions and still is insufficient to make peace. One might look at that and believe that President Clinton was the Israelis greatest enemy yet in Israel he was seen as a misguided fool no worse than the Israeli Prime Ministers he worked with, or against as when he worked desperately through all channels to get one Israeli Prime Minister defeated in order to be the one who forged the peace and even after replacing Netanyahu with Ehud Barak, he could not force Arafat to make peace. Israel was not the problem here. Then under President Bush, Prime Minister Sharon gave away the entirety of Gaza so that the Arabs could prove they could live in peace besides Israel. All it proved was that the Arabs were not willing to live in peace next to Israel but such was still ignored and the United States basically claimed that if Israel were to now surrender all of Judea, Samaria and half of Jerusalem then there would be peace and an end to rockets falling on Israeli communities. Does anybody honestly believe this tripe?

Where all this is leading is obvious even to the most casual observer, yet all ignore the obvious and press forever onward. The problem is there are no casual observers. The United States leadership want to be the ones to have made peace no matter the cost, the Arabs want Israel destroyed no matter how long it takes, and the Israelis just want peace and to get on with their lives without the constant threat of war and terrorism. The problem is that there is no break in this viscous cycle which goes like this, the Arabs demand concessions of Israel to restart talks, the Americans force an Israeli sacrifice, the talks start, the Palestinians demand more and more concessions until everything breaks down, the Americans demand more and more until they realize they are demanding too much and they stop and the Arabs walk out or Israel meets some demand completely and the Arabs walk away or Israel finally says no and the Arabs scream foul and walk away demanding the world punish Israel and then the world punishes Israel, if only they would not do so with such zeal. The constants are the Arabs demanding more and the Arabs eventually walking away when the world refuses to completely destroy Israel for them. Eventually the world will tire of this stupid game and simply decide that it is not worth any more efforts on their behalf and demand that Israel surrenders. What, you’re surprised? Remember that Israel simply desires to live at peace, make wondrous discoveries and inventions in agriculture, medicine, physics, chemistry and every other field of human endeavor except one, violence against their fellow man while the Arabs are proficient in one thing above all else, and this is not a slam against the vast majority of Arabs who prefer to live their lives in peace and at peace with their fellow man, is threats and acts of violence. Eighty percent or more of the current wars on earth have as at least one of the sides as an Arab nation or Arab terrorism being the driving force. The greatest conflagrations currently is in Syria where Arabs and their allies have flocked from the world over to engage in a multifaceted war where there are at a minimum five groups engaged in mutual destruction including but not limited to, Bashir al-Assad and the remnants of the Syrian military, Hezballah, ISIS, al-Qaeda, Iran and Russia. Violence continues across Iraq, in Yemen, in the Sinai Peninsula, between the two sides in Sudan despite the presumed settling of that conflict with the establishing of South Sudan, in Nigeria, Mali, Cameroon and their neighbors falling within the violence by Boko Haram and one could continue on.

So, how will Israel extricate themselves from this viscous circle of destruction? The only answer is strength. We look at the one consistent item which should convince Israel that they must break free of this is that even those presumably acting in concert with Israel to produce peace only end up demanding more from Israel and delivering nothing ever in return except more demands. Israel must stand and scream out, “No more!” Israel must set what is in her best interest, even if taking all of Judea and Samaria and annexing them and finalizing the annexation of the Golan Heights, Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and all of Jerusalem and declare Jerusalem as it one and only Capital City and invite all nations to join in building an international zone where they will all build new embassies and a grand meeting place where all nations can come and participate in forging peace elsewhere in the world as Israel has always been and remains the nation that had sought peace even to their own detriment. The Arabs residing in Judea and Samaria should be given semiautonomous governance over their cities where they already hold such under the condition that all holy places as recognized by the Israeli government must be respected, remain open to all visitors and all who wish to pray at these sites can do so without any fears of violence. The Israeli security forces will see that such is the case and will act to prevent any act of violence by whatever means are required. The Arabs may become Israeli citizens with full rights and responsibilities through an established series of requirements beginning with their signing a loyalty oath with the understanding that any abrogation of this oath will result in their facing either a minimum ten years in prison or exile from Israel never to be permitted to return under threat of double the ten years in prison followed by exile. Any Arab caught in an act of terror will also face the same punishment as their loyalty oath will be judged to have been taken in bad faith and under the guise of deceit. The school systems will come under Israeli education department with the application of the same expectations and curriculum as any other Israeli academy. Islamic schools will be permitted and treated equally as are Yeshiva Jewish schools when it comes to curriculum and requirements. There will be some period of adjustment but with time and patient efforts and with proof of receiving equality before the law and equality and acceptance as time passes and wounds heal these lands and people will be accepted as full citizens with full and equal rights, some might even claim superior rights than they were afforded under the rule of the PA as the PA ceased having elections as soon as Abbas realized he could no longer control the outcome. Israel has no other manner to end the constant attempts at terrorism, rocket firing, stabbing, rock attacks and worse.

There is another reason which, unless one watches the media with great enthusiasm even including numerous Israeli sources, will pass unnoticed but the horrific effects will still be inflicted as the levels of violence and terrorist strikes will ramp up heading through the month and will be used by the Arabs and Americans as the reason that Israel must capitulate and make a grand concessions which will include but not be limited to any and all expectations the Arabs believed were theirs for the taking plus a complete new set of demands which they offer as the opening salvo in this year’s let’s see what the American fools will work with us to force Israelis to surrender in the name of the peace we will never make. Maybe this will be the year and the right leader in the White House to grant us final victory and defeat the Zionist Entity for us as we are unable of doing these ourselves. For this reason and as a stance taken for peace and the end of the farcical set of ruses which are passed off as the Oslo Accords and the path to peace, Israel must bring this circus to an end and take its own path to peace. When the world screams that Israel must return such of the lands they occupied after the Sex Day War, Israel must reply, “We have returned the vast majority of the lands we occupied. As far as Judea and Samaria, these we liberated from Jordanian occupation from the 1948-9 War of Annihilation which the Arabs gained these lands through their aggressions and held illegally. The Jordan River is our rightful and legal border and those Jordanian citizens who were moved into these lands are here illegally but we will grant them the same offers we offer the indigenous Arabs as Israeli is more than fair. As for what we will keep to assure our ability to defend our borders, we will keep the Golan Heights. Remember this above all else, we held the Sinai Peninsula and for some years the border of Egypt and Israel was the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, so do not even begin with Israel must surrender most of the occupied lands as we did so when we reached our peace with Egypt. This we do in the name of peace and if allowed to work through some difficulties we will have a peace that makes all satisfied and equality will reign within our borders for all our citizens and we will even grant better conditions for those who choose to remain as foreign residents within our borders as Israel is an open and equal society. But as Oslo Accords were used purely as a bludgeon, a cudgel to attempt to beat the life from Israel’s borders and crush the spirit of the Israeli people and to which we say, this weapon that used the name of peace in a blasphemous manner is no more and instead truth will be the weapon with which Israel will enforce a new peace, a workable peace while demanding no more and no less than was promised us through treaty and International Law, so be warned that this is the end and the rightfulness of this end. That is what Israel need do and anything less will result in an eventual war where too many will die needlessly as this option remains open and the only other option the Arabs have offered up is a great conflagration where either the Jews are mercilessly slaughtered or the world finally grants Israel her peace and secured borders as we now define such.

What is written here could apply to any organization, it is just that the “Israel Teachers’ Union,” for the reason of continued acceptance, or so was the excuse given to those who objected, that accepted and signed the World Teachers’ Association (WTA) what can only be described as another BDS supporting document which was presented supporting the statement, “the continued Israeli occupation of the West Bank, the existence of illegal Israeli settlements there and their impact on the lives of Palestinians, including access to water along with the blockade of Gaza, has imposed severe restrictions on economic and social development in Palestine.” Unsurprisingly enough this has caused a split in the membership of the teachers’ union in Israel. What has developed is surprising in that the teachers who have been most outspoken against the signing of this odious document being threatened by the post-Zionist members of their union with legal actions to shut them out of the debate. Perhaps the time has come for a real Zionist Teachers’ Union which supports their nation in its life or death struggle over the acceptance of the pro-BDS document such as the one their leadership found so important and likely not all that odious a document, if not a document with which they were in total agreement, just so they would not have been barred from the WTA. One needs to wonder if these same representatives were to attend a META (Middle East Teachers Association) if such an organization were to exist, and a document was drafted demanded the “Right of Return” for over five-million so-called Arab Palestinian refugees’ would this document also be acceptable to remain as accepted by Israel’s enemies? One might be led to believe they would as such would not be in contradiction to their personal beliefs as they have no feelings or belief in Israel as the home nation of the Jewish People but rather as the democratic multicultural conglomeration of people bordering the Mediterranean Sea with no particular special character.

There can be no middle ground between teachers who are Zionist and believe in Israel as a separate and special nation unique among the nations as the reestablishment of the ancient state of the Jewish People after near two-millennia and the establishment of the G0d given opportunity for the Jewish people to once again be the People of the Book and a light unto the nations established to give hope to those in the world who desire a better world that was established by Hashem, formed by Hashem, styled by Hashem and commanded by Hashem to carry His message to the rest of the people on the planet He created, formed and established to celebrate the glory, magnanimity, supremacy and transcendence of Hashem. Even if one only desires that Israel be the nation for the Jewish People and the only place on all of Earth that the Jewish People would be able to flee should the world once again become overcome with Jew hatred ready to end the existence of the Jews once again, the aim of powers and empires almost too numerous to list over the last thirty-five-hundred years of history to genocidally murder the Jewish People starting with the Ancient Egyptians and further attempted by the following empires and forces with such intents but not limited to: the Amalekites, Chaldean Empire, Philistine Empire (not in any way related to ‘Palestinians’ as the Philistine people were of Greek extraction and were absorbed into other peoples and ceased existence over two-thousand years ago), Babylonian Empire, Assyrian Empire, Persian Empire (Haman and his sons against Mordechai and Queen Esther and the Megillah of Esther and the celebration of Purim), Greek Empire, Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Crusaders, Spanish Empire, Ottoman Turkish Empire, British Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, German Empire (part of the cleansing of German tribal lands of the accursed Catholics and Jews based on writings of Martin Luther), French Empire (during the purification of France under the troops controlled by the Catholic Church and the French Cardinal and the one pursuit the Royalty joined with the Catholics despite their struggles for outright control of France), Russia Empire Under the Czars (the driving force behind the Czar’s orders for a book be written which could be utilized to prove Jewish conspiracies to control governments and as being a danger to the rule of the Czars which became “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion which is used in numerous Arab and Muslim countries to explain their suspicions and hatreds of the Jews even today), Nazi Empire, Soviet Empire (under Stalin who claimed the Jews were the ultimate Capitalists and thus enemies of the State and an unacceptable threat despite many Jews, including Leon Trotsky, being instrumental supporters of the revolution), and who next, the Arab forces such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, ISIS and other Arab Islamist supremacists or potentially Iran where chants of “Death to Israel” are even more common than those of “Death to America” both of which are regular staples of the Friday after prayer services but before nightfall.

The fact that an Israeli Teachers’ union representatives value sitting amongst those who would have them murdered if given the opportunity to do so without having any direct involvement more than they value the Zionist principles that values the survival of the Jewish People over being politically correct or fitting in and everything else involved with going along in order to get along is enough to make one feel ill and to demand that those teachers who understand and value the continued love of and dedicated to the preservation of Israel as the Jewish State and sole refuge for all the Jewish People reestablished as the historic right of the original indigenous peoples in our lands to depart the company of traitors and start a second teachers’ union with a Zionist agenda and that fully supports both Israel and the Jewish People. The fact that members of the Israeli Teachers’ union would threaten and even consider bringing legal suits against those teachers who would even broach the subject and suggest that signing such an odious document in the first place and then defend it with such threats is further proof that there can be no compromise nor is there any room for dissent from the views of the self-appointed moralists who would condemn their fellow countrymen in such a despicable manner. There is little need to attempt to alter the convictions of these post-Zionist teachers who apparently have co-opted the existing teachers’ union and as is the case in all too many Israeli institutions from the Supreme Court to leadership of the vast majority of political parties to the Israeli Teachers’ union, amongst all too many unions which populate Histadrut and taking similar stands due to their history of extremist leftist and communist control which are almost invulnerable to the forces of change.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the community organizations and NGOs such as B’Tselem, New Israel Fund, Breaking the Silence, Gisha, Combatants for Peace, Adalah, Coalition of Women for Peace, Association for Civil Rights in Israel, Alternative Information Center, Bimkom, Ir Amim, Machsom Watch, Public Committee Against Torture in Israel, Physicians for Human Rights- Israel, Women Against Violence and other similarly named NGOs which like the Israel Teachers’ Union are made up of Israelis and usually largely Jewish Israelis who are sold on the same old, tired, tried but failed and failed miserably mantra of land for peace. This is despite the fact that there is not a single evidentiary backing for the concept of Israelis, and especially Jewish Israelis, ever trading a piece of land and receiving even prolonged calm, let alone peace for the efforts. As has been documented repeatedly, every single time there has been the surrendering of lands, not only did that sacrifice not bring peace but has been universally followed by additional violence and often a prolonged and steadily increasing theater of horrific violence. Inevitably it has become known that the violence had been planned ahead of such exchanges specifically to be used as proof that each sacrifice was insufficient to appease the unappeasable appetite for dispossessing Jews of their lands in this their dear, ancient and, for many, holy lands. The first attempt at such a series of events was during the early 1920s when the British struck a deal between the Zionist Congress and the Arab leadership within the area of the British Mandate lands as well as the Arab League and the Mufti of Southern Syria. This deal entailed that in exchange for all the British Mandate Lands east of the Jordan River, constituting approximately 78% of that said Mandate lands, being surrendered of claim for inclusion of the establishment by the Jewish nation and being surrendered for the establishment of an Arab State for the Arabs residing in the areas of Southern Syria, thus the remaining 22% of the lands which constitute the lands west of the Jordan River will be made inviolate and reserved for the Jewish People and their State. This was what was agreed upon and signed by the parties including the British as the Mandated Power to implement the promise of a Jewish State making everything legal and a settled matter well almost settled. This deal was followed by a slowly increasing intensity of violence against the Jews living in areas west for the Jordan River which peaked with rioting and mass assaults on the Jews in 1929 and this calm followed by ramping violence repeated itself peaking again in 1933, in 1936 and again in 1939 and then settled down during the era of World Wat II largely due to the presence of British troops in numbers plus the existence of a Jewish Brigade made up of Jews who volunteered to fight with the British in the Middle East and mostly in northern Africa which was called the Palestine Brigade. The reason was at the time of World War II and before as well as until the name of Palestinian had been co-opted by Yasser Arafat in order to claim the periods when the Jews were always referred to as the Palestinians and those who took the name under Arafat had been called the, wait for it, the Arabs.

After World War II the lead-up to the founding of the State of Israel in May of 1948 came and surprisingly enough, the next offer to share the exact lands which the British and the world had claimed was inviolate and reserved solely for the Jewish State. Such is the worth of promises made unto the Jews. Under the United Nations Charter in Article 80 the world body unanimously supported honoring the Mandate system and all agreements made within that framework. This obviously included the agreement made by the by Britain, the power of the Mandate in question, with the World Zionist Congress that the lands west of the Jordan had been set aside solely and inviolate for the Jewish State in exchange for the surrender of the lands east of the Jordan River, which constituted over three-fourths of the Mandated lands. Despite this agreement being in place and obliged to be honored by the United Nations, the General Assembly passed on November 29, 1947, Resolution 181 which suggested the lands west of the Jordan River, the exact lands the British had guaranteed would be inviolate and the United Nations has adopted as its sole policy when ratifying Article 80 of the United Nations Charter, be divided evenly into an Arab and a Jewish States respectively. This generous offer went so far as to divide Israel as in the map below where the orange area of the map would have constituted Israel while the yellow area of the map would have constituted the proposed Arab state. This meant that approximately half of what would have become Israel would have been constituted of the Negev Desert while the yellow areas included largely good farm lands and would have had the short-lived international city of Jerusalem surrounded which would likely have meant that all of Jerusalem as it was at that time would have defaulted to Arab control and being placed beyond the reach of any Jew. The violence ramped up considerably with the rioting and physical attacks on Jews became daily occurrences until May15, 1948, when Israel came officially into being and had war declared on her by at least a half dozen nations who had troops present to force the Jews into the sea or worse.

1947 United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 Partition Plan accepted by the Jewish Zionist Congress, precursor to an Israeli government, but refused by Arab League thus making the entirety of the Resolution 181 voided and relegated to the trash bin of history.

The threats by Egyptian President Nasser in May and early June and the massing of troops by Egypt and Syria, joined as the United Arab Republic for the duration of this war as an act of unity, on the northern and southern borders of Israel which resulted in the Six Day War was a massive increase culmination since the founding of Israel nineteen years earlier. This threatened attack was the culmination of the continued slow ramping up of violence since the armistice which resulted in an end, though without an actual peace agreement but merely a cessation of hostilities at that time, I believe called a Hudna by Muslims, and resulted in the ultimate violence, as mentioned, the Six Day War. The ceasefire from that conflict remained in place until Yom Kippur morning on October 6, 1973, which could have been claimed to have resulted after Israel had claimed one too many times her willingness to return the Sinai Peninsula in exchange for a real and lasting peace. When we reach the eventual peace with Egypt one might desire to call that the return of the Sinai as not having any lands and received peace, which as far as Egypt is concerned but one need remember that as a part of the peace with Egypt they surrendered any and all claims to the Gaza Strip which has proven to be a continual source of violence and several armed conflicts. Further, the entirety of the peace talks has been about Israel surrendering lands for peace, yet receiving nothing but violence, attacks, terrorism and death. As we have been pointing out, whenever the Jews or Israel as a nation has offered to make peace they have been greeted with more and more violence. When Israel retreated from Southern Lebanon due to ever increasing terrorism it was not even a full year before things had escalated to the point where the withdrawal had become recognized as a complete and utter failure gifting half of Lebanon to Islamist extremists of Hezballah who have driven the violence to a fevered pitch twice resulting in two wars and the ramping of the threats and rhetoric has already started once again, building up to what is difficult to envision with the entirety of Syria in flames and Hezballah having suffered serious losses may be seeking another conflict with Israel to regain some of their sorely lacking respect from the Lebanese or perhaps instill some fear into them. Meanwhile, when Israel made its peace with Jordan, Israel offered to return to Jordan the lands the Jordanians had been illegally possessing from 1948 through the start of the Six Day War in 1967, a full nineteen years. There has been almost nothing but violence and terrorist attacks ever since. When in 1999 with the aid of United States President Clinton Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered Yasser Arafat the entirety of what Arafat had told President Clinton he would require in order to make a lasting peace with Israel. When after a late night of arm-twisting Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak made his offer which was met by Arafat storming from the conference and jetting back to Ramallah and almost immediately starting the second intifada, an unprecedented assault with homicide bombers blowing themselves up in pizza parlors, restaurants, hotels, bus depots, malls, discotheques and wherever a crowd of innocent Israelis could be found. This eventually led to Israel constructing the separation barrier which succeeded in preventing much of the violence.

This is the same separation barrier which the world has only understood to be the tall cement walls through urban areas which were necessitated to prevent the prevalent sniper fire which was slaughtering innocent civilians. For over three-fourths of the length of the separation barrier it consists of a tall chain-link fence. The perception of the barrier as a wall is simply another case of successful casting of the Israelis as being harsh oppressors which has become the adopted trope from the leftist socialist media, not at all surprising when one realizes the realities that the two greatest murderers of Jews have been the National Socialists and the International Socialists, or the Nazis and Communists. As the media in Europe and lagging almost a decade behind but making up the ground on the outside is the United States have both turned sharply leftist their reporting has simply become a form to bludgeon Israel and depict her government as a tyranny despoiling the virgin lands and victimizing the most innocent of babes in the pristine woodlands, never mind these babes carry axes to slaughter Israelis at every opportunity and then cry that the Israelis are invading and despoiling their neighborhoods when law enforcement and investigatory agencies seek to find and arrest the perpetrators of often the most heinous of crimes. Such was the uproar after two cousins murdered the Fogels, the mother, father and two brothers, Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and their tiny little sister and newest member to the family, three-month-old Hadas as they slept one Shabbat Night. Or the slaughter of four rabbis in morning prayers in a synagogue in an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in West Jerusalem of Har Nof murdered by cousins, Odai Abed Abu Jamal, 22, and Ghassan Muhammad Abu Jamal, 32, who claimed they were avenging what they saw as a threat to the al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in East Jerusalem a good four or five miles from where these monsters slaughtered and then butchered with 9mm handguns, knives and axes included in prayer at the time of their slaughters almost as if making a pagan sacrifice of the four holy men still wearing their Prayer Shawls and Phylacteries with Prayer Books still in hand, not that such would have been necessary as each probably knew the prayer better than most but also know that it is an even more special mitzvah to read each day’s prayers as if you are seeing the words for the first time and feel their wonderment and immerse oneself in the wonder, sincerity, passion and adoration that comes only on the first time reading such words of power and divine beauty, Rabbi Moshe Twersky, Rabbi Cary Levine, Rabbi Avraham Goldberg and Rabbi Aryeh Kopinsky and then added the first police officer, a traffic policeman who was unarmed, Zidan Saif, a noble and brave Druze who was simply attempting to pull others out of harm’s way when these savages murdered once more as if their blood lust had yet to be satisfied.

In memory of these and all the other victims of the return to our ancient lands and to those for whom these lands will be their final refuge from the spreading hatreds, our teachers need leave the fold of their union and build one of their own fashioned by their hands with the eternal guidance from Hashem who will honor such as it honors his people and his lands. There are those amongst us who realize and know that despite the fragile nature of the existence of Israel, an existence so frail that without the aiding hands of Hashem it could not be, that this existence is still the safest of all places upon this earth for a Jew at these times. Make a teachers’ union that chooses Hashem, which chooses Israel, which recognized the special task we Jews have entered in our covenant with Hashem. Make a union that teachers can safely say as our forefathers said when receiving the Law at Mount Sinai, “We will obey and we will hear.” They can risk such faith as the teachers’ union you will form will be of such dedication to Hashem, to our land of Israel and to imparting that love in every lesson you teach. Make a new teachers’ union as the established union no longer serves as the ideal example that you wish to follow and honor. Make a union that teachers will proudly exclaim that they chose honor over acceptance. Form a union for real teachers who take moral stands and who form in their students and morale of the spirit which endows them with a moral and fulfilling education. Make a union to remember those we have lost, learn from all who remain and take the lessons from history to arm themselves for tomorrow. And lastly form a teachers’ union for your own self-worth and that will fill you with pride and thus make of you better teachers.

The initial lesson almost everybody will claim is that nothing notable resulted from the Likud primary elections. Binyamin Netanyahu easily won the top spot and Danny Danon retained a seat in the Knesset. Yuli Edelstein, followed by Gilad Arden – then Israel Katz, Miri Regev, Silvan Shalom, Moshe Ya’alon, Ze’ev Elkin and Tzachi Hanegbi rounded out the top positions. The presumably big story is that none of the Likud leadership mentioned ceding land for making a Palestinian state, nor making conciliatory moves to placate the Demands of the European Union, nor surrendering lands demanded by the United Nations nor folding before pressures from United States President Obama nor buckling to demands made by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) threats nor bending under to the compulsion emanating from any of the European governments nor mollifying to any pressures to relent claim to any land claims by any Arab or Muslim entity. This would have been laudable and reassuring except for the lack of claiming anything concerning the surrender of lands beyond the Green Line. Probably the one comment heard in the reporting was an assurance that the Western Wall would remain under Israeli control made by Tzipi Livni and Yitzhak Herzog which would have made the perfect invitation to address that the Likud would not only retain control over the Kotel but would keep all of Jerusalem, the settlements, the Jordan Valley, the Judean Hills and all of ancient Israel, but no such retort was presented. The question of what they are in favor of committing themselves to about the ancient homelands of the Jewish State, of the lands of Judea and Samaria is a question of paramount importance and the answer must not contain any ambiguities or vagueness and must be replied to without even the slightest hesitation of falter so as to be given spontaneously proving it is their default and singular position. Such must be the position and response to the state of mind of any candidate on any list before a true Zionist can feel comfort in granting any party their vote.

There was some disconcerting news pertaining to the subterfuge around efforts to keep Moshe Feiglin from attaining a safe position or even any position on the Likud list and with that news one might also question if these efforts also had an effect on Tzipi Hotovely just missing making the list of favorably situated spots when she missed being in the twentieth spot and that pushed her back to the twenty-sixth spot behind some seats reserved for party regional leadership and people chosen by the Prime Minister personally. Another step towards proving that Likud stands firmly in the nationalist camp and also the Zionist camp would be Benyamin Netanyahu placing Tzipi Hotovely in one of his discretionary spots assuring her a better chance at continuing to serve and have an additional Zionist voice in the Knesset. The next step which the Zionist camp must take careful notes to will be the filing by the parties of their official lists. If any Zionist belongs to a party which places within its list any appreciable numbers of candidates who have ever stated their approval to surrendering Judea and Samaria and permitting a new Arab state which will most assuredly become another Hamastan either through elections or by force of arms, just as did Gaza, then one should seriously consider giving their vote to another party. There should be little if any room for Ministers to the Knesset who would allow another debacle such as the events which formed Kadima and led to the unilateral disengagement from Gaza producing a similar result with Judea and Samaria. This was one fear that occupied my mind and led to great consternation when after the last elections when Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately chose to bring into his potential coalition Tzipi Livni’s Hatnuah Party (הַתְּנוּעָה) which had not only surrender lands for peace members on her party list but also was headed with the ultimate land for peace person outside Labor, Meretz and the Arab Parties. When Tzipi Livni was then given the position to be the lead Israeli for negotiating and dealing with the Palestinians and all that would eventually entail, which came way too close to my worst fears, I said prayers that like Pharaoh, Abbas and companies’ hearts would harden and refuse every offer. That is apparently exactly what came to be as Abbas once again proved the wisdom of Abba Eban who stated referring to the forming of another Arab nation west of the Jordan River that, “The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.”

It is always nerve racking when offers are made where almost the entirety of Judea and Samaria and especially if Eastern Jerusalem is included which initially guarantees that Jews will lose all access to the Temple Mount and the Kotel and additionally the Synagogues which were so painstakingly refurbished and restored will once again be torn asunder and be once again defiled. There is still one last thing which granting the Arabs and Abbas their state and Hamas taking control within one year or two is that within six months of Hamas rising to power Israel will once again be facing a war of extinction against who knows how many armies. The war that would follow Hamas taking over Judea, Samaria and Eastern Jerusalem would be frightful and potentially the most dangerous situation since the War of Independence as it is surreal yet potentially possible, if not probable should such a war come four or five years down the road, that the Arabs would have a number of European nations aiding their efforts and arming them with top of the line NATO equipment. It might even become a worst case scenario should Turkey also become a party to the conflict and demand that the rest of NATO come to the aid against the nation warring with Turkey, a fellow NATO member who is permitted such a request. Where it is unlikely, though not completely out of the realm of possibilities, that the United States would aid Turkey against Israel, but it is nowhere near as certain when one considers that the numerous European NATO members might comply with the request resulting in a much broader war and increases the potential for Israel to be defeated without, as assisted Israel in all her previous conflicts, the good L0rd assists once again.

The one thing that Israel needs to make sure does not happen is for the leftists make up the lead in any coalition, especially if the Prime Minister position will be occupied by Tzipi Livni as she most assuredly would surrender the store simply to assure herself a legacy. Tzipi Livni is driven to become the Prime Minister who achieved peace with the Arabs and received a Nobel Peace Prize for her heroic and valued leadership. The question with her deciding what is acceptable could potentially lead to her insisting that Israel retain Tel Aviv but hopefully she not surrender both the Negev Desert and the Galilee central plains and hills and certainly not surrender Netanya and Nahariya. Of course she might not get the opportunity as Yitzhak Herzog would be allowed first shot at surrendering almost all of Israel. Yitzhak Herzog recently vowed to shut down the World Zionist Organization’s Settlement Division, which functions as an operational arm of the government to build and establish communities and infrastructures in Judea and Samaria. Herzog stated on ‘Meet the Press’ Saturday night, “As Prime Minister I will close the Settlement Division and open it later to serve the Negev and the Galilee. We see again and again the same group takes over the interests of the state and Netanyahu gave in to it.” This is a blanket inference that the lands beyond the Green Line are of little concern and that Yitzhak Herzog is willing to surrender all of Judea and Samaria forcing almost one-million Jews from their homes, something which the Israeli voters must take the efforts to avoid giving this man any power. Not only is that necessary but the Israeli voters must make certain that whichever party gets to form the next government is a party headed by a devout and solid Zionist who knows that not only without Jerusalem does Israel fail, but also without Hevron, Shechem, Jericho, and possibly also Bethlehem. These are the minimalist demands and retaining all the lands promised by treaties are reserved solely for a Jewish State where the peoples living within have individual rights, commercial rights, property rights and religious rights but political rights are reserved for the Jews when voting and ruling the nation come into question. This was decided immediately after World War I and was ratified by the European nations, Japan and the United States and ratified by the United Nations. Without going into detail, here is the thumbnail sketch one more time, The San Remo Conference implemented the Balfour Declaration word for word as their conclusion; following that decision the British had the mandate and proposed splitting the mandate with three-quarters approximately was to be utilized for an Arab state and would be defined as the lands west of the Jordan River while the lands east of the Jordan River, that less than one-quarter of the Mandate lands, would be reserved into perpetuity for the Jewish State where all people living within were to keep their properties, businesses, religious rights, civil rights and all rights with the exception of political rights which could be granted them if and only if the Jewish government deemed them to have such powers. All of these treaties were adopted subsequently by the United Nations under Article 80. Get it, got it, good!
