How to Recognize Arab-Israeli Acceptable Peace Plan

There exist certain exacting criteria which have become the watchwords demanded of any peace plan if its presenters expect general support. Without these particulars incorporated into your plan, then you are doomed to fail finding yourself left out in the cold space of rejection. The Arabs will laugh in your face, then when you pivot, you will receive a full and proper scolding, all as openers for putting their stamp of approval upon your plan, but not until they are permitted to amend your plan bringing it in line with their experts. Who, you might ask, are the experts and how did they become such experts? Well, that is not as difficult an answer as you may think. An expert is anyone who has published works which insist on a solution where the lands gained (liberated from illegal Jordanian rule) in the Six Day War are returned to their rightful owners, the Palestinians. As an expert, you are completely convinced and aware that the invented convention that the Palestinians have this country called Palestine and the Jews made an amphibious assault taking the beaches in May of 1948 and from that established beachfront, the Jews expanded threatening to conquer the entirety of the Arab World. Fortunately, the Arab armies managed to stop the Jews at what is called the Green Line, thus at least this should be the border. Jerusalem must also be split in half as that was the way it was supposed to be. As long as your scholarly opinion is in agreement with the Arab and European talking points, then praises will be heaped upon you, you will receive invitations to address scholarly conventions with others who believe as do you. Your plan is safe as long as it meets with “the requirements” which everyone who is anyone should be familiar with the points. Vary from the well-worn path which all previous failed plans traveled before yours, then you must be a racist, a radical, you are an instigator who is not serious about reaching a solution. These are the rules for all proposed plans for settling the Arab-Israeli Conflict. Oh, and one last word to the wise, we who decide all do not use the dated terminology of Arab-Israeli Conflict, the newly discovered term which we insist has always been how the problem has been framed, it is now called the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Get with the program if you ever expect to address the Human Rights Council or even the big time and address the General Assembly.

This is the atmosphere into which President Trump will be placing his “Deal of the Century” aiming to settle the problem upon which, according to those experts we referenced earlier, any solution must meet with their approval. Further, according to these experts, there must be another nation for the Arabs, oh, sorry, we stand corrected, the Palestinians must receive their rightful state no matter how much the Jews whine about their needs for a secure and defensible set of borders. We experts realize that is just code wording for establishing a “Greater Israel” over half of the Middle East. All of we experts are aware of the deep hidden desire the Jews have to rule over the world and control all the governments. That is why it will be so important that those who have been gifted with recognizable enlightened knowledge be permitted to dictate a proper solution to this conflict respecting the dignity and historical perspectives. We have the credentials given us by our governments who rely upon us to set the height of the bar and the parameters any plan must meet if anything is expected to result from its presentation. We are aware that this set of parameters has been tried repeatedly with the same results, no peace and further increases of terrorism. But trust us, this time it will work if only Israel would allow additional lands to be turned over to the needed Arab entity.

Let us look at the Israeli demands which are largely directly attributable to her security and ability to defend her people. The main pieces to any settlement have changed since the Oslo Accords, both I and II, are dead and buried. Mahmoud Abbas has declared this repeatedly, and for a change he is correct. Israel insists on retaining the Golan Heights and the Jordan River Valley (it more resembles a steep sided gorge) and the western cliffs overlooking the river. These are the strategically necessary positions in order to both stop a land assault from the east as well as serving to prevent any Arab entity from importing heavy weaponry. The reasons for the strategic land positions become very evident on the map below which shows the Golan Heights and the Jordan River Valley in topographic relief. Another reason for retaining the overlooking cliffs is for eastward facing radar for early warning of any approaching aircraft. There was a period immediately after the Oslo Accords when Israel offered over ninety percent of the former West Bank (the Shomron or Judea and Samaria) and proffered land swaps in exchange for the main settlement blocks and was also offering the return of eastern Jerusalem. These offers were put forward by both of the left-wing governments, one headed by Ehud Barak and the other by Ehud Olmert. These offers were co-authored by President Clinton assisting Ehud Barak and by George W. Bush with Ehud Olmert. President Clinton had even twisted Barak’s arm until he agreed to every demand by Yasser Arafat. Arafat then refused his own terms and returned via Jordan and finished implementing his plans for the Second Intifada. Even the most minimal demands, actually more like requests, by Israel are unacceptable to the Arab side.

So, what exactly is the Arab side of the argument. What exactly will they accept in order to make peace? Unfortunately, their demands are spoken of only in Arabic, but thanks to MEMRI, Palestinian Media Watch, Honest Reporting, CAMERA, Stand With Us as well as blogs such as ourselves and Chaim Report, Elder of Ziyon and many other worthy efforts, these speeches have been translated and, except for the United States State Department, anyone can go to these locations and find what Abbas and the rest of the terrorist entities both in Gaza and in Judea and Samaria have been saying to their own people. The first realization one reaches is that what they say in Arabic contradicts almost everything said in English. Odd as this concept may seem, but this form of lying to the infidel in order to advance the conquests, interests, positions or simply to obscure the truth of Islam is a religious obligation known as Taqiyya. There is a saying that the way to know when an Arab leader is using Taqiyya is very simple, if it is in English, it is Taqiyya and if it is in Arabic, then the odds drop to around fifty percent depending largely if the speaker will gain from what they are communicating. But when they are using English and placing it for Western consumption, when stating such things as Islam is the religion of peace, terrorism is against Islamic principles and other such statements, it is most definitely Taqiyya so you would be closer to reality by negating everything presented which one finds pleasing to hear. These are stories told to lull the West, the enemy, into a false sense of calm and security all the while undermining everything they are able, and infiltrating the rest. There are exceptions such as when emotions get the better of them and the truth tumbles out. The most obvious recent example has been Mahmoud Abbas consistently stating that President Trump and his Deal of the Century are going to be refused because President Trump has proven by moving the American Embassy to the Capital city of Israel, Jerusalem, that he is biased and serves only Israel. This was simply telling the truth that any peace deal, it does not matter whose it is, as they refused President Obama’s overtures, is dead on arrival if anywhere within the peace plan the Jews are permitted self-rule. There is one point which the Arab Palestinians insist upon in any peace agreement, that they rule all the lands from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and that the Jews are removed completely from these Islamic Waqf or they will remove them in their fashion. Abbas has repeatedly stated, nay, insisted that every millimeter of lands under Palestinian Arab rule must be free of Jews. He has stated that he does not care where they go, just that they go. So, if Abbas and his Hamas, Islamic Jihad and whatever other terror groups currently are nested in Gaza or Judea and Samaria are ever granted their state of Palestine from the river to the sea (Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea), there will be no room for the Jews and Israel will have been destroyed. These are the demands of the Arabs, that the Jews be returned to their proper place of a people without a country chased from one nation to the next cursed by Allah. Anything short of a complete victory and the utter decimation of Israel leaving the Jews at the tender mercies of the world is unacceptable to the Arabs and they will simply walk away from any negotiations which grant them less and claim Israel is not serious about making peace.

The one item which is in Israel’s favor is that according to international law derived from the San Remo Conference, the League of Nations unanimous decision for the establishing of the Jewish State and the Mandate System set up for that expressed purpose, all of which is further backed by the United Nations Charter Article 80 which placed the full enforcement of the United Nations towards realizing the results spelled out in the Mandate System, mean that unless Israel signs a treaty forgoing her ownership of any of the lands west of the Jordan River, the lands are legally all belonging to Israel. Currently, Gaza is a semi-autonomous region ruled by Hamas and parts of Judea and Samaria are a semi-autonomous region ruled by the Palestinian Authority. Neither of these governing entities has held elections for over a decade and Mahmoud Abbas is in his fourteenth year of a four-year term. Whenever it appears that there will be an agreement between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, some technicality or misunderstanding always prevents their union and the holding of elections. Every time elections have been scheduled by the Palestinian Authority, some problem or emergency has caused Abbas to cancel the elections. These are the real reasons that the Palestinian Arabs have not voted for a long time and it has nothing to do with Israel. At least Hamas has declared themselves to be a dictatorial ruling power, Abbas claims to be a democracy where elections just never materialize. Mahmoud Abbas knows he would lose any election and that Hamas would be the victor and unless he escapes in time, he would be tried and hanged. But the media refuses to report the reality as they have taken a position critical of the Jewish State and forgiving of all sins towards the Arab entities. The Europeans have worked with great diligence in their attempts to rid the world of the Jewish State starting even before Israel had declared her independence.

This is where the Arab refusal to accept Israel ruled by the Jews in any size or configuration has saved Israel almost despite herself. When the United Nations on November 29, 1947, in the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 181 which would have divided the lands west of the Jordan into equal sized states, one Arab and one Jewish; the Jews accepted this terrible idea and were saved because the Arabs refused to permit any Jewish state and had already planned to invade Israel immediately after she declared her independence. This was the war which began on May 15, 1948, and is misnamed the Israeli War of Independence, but we like to give it its real name as described by Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League at that time who stated, “It will be a war of annihilation. It will be a momentous massacre in history that will be talked about like the massacres of the Mongols or the Crusades.” That is what the Arabs expected, a war of annihilation where every Jew and probably others even including some of the Muslims who did not hate the Jews with sufficient fervor. Six Arab armies invaded Israel as described on the map below and somehow, without an actual organized military, Israel survived. Israel lost Gaza to Egypt and parts of Judea and Samaria to Jordan. When the PLO was founded in 1964, three years before the Six Day War, their claim was to destroy the Jewish State and turn the lands where Israel had existed over to Jordan and Egypt. They expressly laid no claim to Gaza or the parts of Judea and Samaria under Jordanian control as they were in Islamic hands and did not require cleansing. After the Six Day War, their claims immediately changed to specify the regions lost by Egypt and Jordan claiming in English that this was all they desired.

Still, they have turned down numerous offers which would have given them almost exactly what they claimed to demand and they refused every time. There have been times that a near majority if not a definitive majority of Israelis feared the offer being made to the Palestinian Arabs as they foresaw what would follow. Each time their fears were allayed as Yasser Arafat and then Mahmoud Abbas after him refused every offer. The world knows their only acceptable peace is one where the Jews are destroyed, preferably the world over, but it is easier to blame Israel than officially recognize the truth and work from there. When will the Arab Israeli conflict end? There are two answers. One is after Israel delivers such a blow to the Arab world that they fear for their existence. The other is upon the coming of the Messiah. Until then, every president will try and fail because until a President offers to destroy Israel for the Arab Palestinians so they can have a larger failed state, there will be no solution.

The Jews Did Not Mold the Middle East

Since the conquest of Judea by the Babylonians, the Jews briefly were permitted self-rule as a province of the Persian Empire after their defeat of the Babylonian Empire. Just a historical footnote, years before these other empires rose with great clamor, there was a time when the Hebrews, the Jews, had an empire as well which reached from the Euphrates River to the Wadi of Egypt (not the Nile as many claim). This was the period of a Greater Israel and modern Jews and Israelis in general do not seek empire or a Greater Israel reaching the Euphrates, though the modern border between Israel and Egypt is very close to the location of the Wadi of Egypt (see map below). But that was the before anyone recorded history except for the Egyptians and a Jewish Empire was never to be celebrated, only made into a modern fear that the Jew wants to rule the world. Back to recorded history where the Persians fell to the Greeks who fell to the Romans who dispersed the Judean, by then even the Romans were referring to them simply by the shortened term, Ju (pronounced the same a Jew). The point is that from approximately 597BCE until May 15, 1948, the Jews had no homeland anywhere and were dispersed throughout most of the world. The Jews wielded power and influence throughout many periods but were always suspect and often treated as second-class people or even as subhuman. The truth was that there were initially two main groups of Jews by the time we reach closer to modernity but before the colonizing of the New World and the rise of Europe as the main power and the Europeans, though ruled as separate nations, were unified in their common cause in resisting the expansionary conquests by the Islamic Empire, be it the Caliphate or the Ottomans. The Europeans coordinated efforts to retake the Holy Lands, in particular Jerusalem, which resulted in the Crusades which were not an offensive war but a response to the conquest of the area and their being pushed from the lands after the fall of Rome and later the Byzantine Empire by Islamic forces.

The rise of Islam ended what had been a century of Jewish preeminence in many regions of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) under the remnants of the Persian Empire which rose again after the fall of Rome, in Egypt which returned to indigenous rule also after the fall of Rome, and under other tribal rule across the region with but a remnant of the Jews who remained or had returned to the area which had been their ancestral homelands with the majority residing in Jerusalem, Tiberius, Caesarea, Be’er Sheva and other towns and cities. Still, even in Jerusalem despite often being either a plurality or sometimes and outright majority, they never were permitted self-rule for two-thousand-five-hundred-forty-five year period, from 597BCE until May of 1948, just in case you wish to check our math. The Jews who resided within Europe and Russia have a history which well documented and tells a depressing story of pogrom, evictions, forced conversions, torture, inquisitions, purifications and the Protestant Reformation where virtually every new faction of Christianity attempted to prove their righteousness and superiority in having a pure faith compared to the Church in Rome each attempted to outdo the rest in their persecution of Jews and others not of their particular denomination of Christianity. Even after the Renaissance, the Enlightenment and the industrial revolution which brought on the modern age, the Jews remained persecuted and forced to work only in professions which were permitted to them and throughout Europe, they mostly were forbidden from owning land. Many Jews fled to the New World hoping that things would improve, and depending on where they went and under which European power they resided determined their plight. Often they found that the Christian dominance remained a stumbling block to the Jews gaining equal rights and they were again relegated to only being permitted certain fields of endeavor and often were still denied land ownership. But what about the Jews who did not reside under the European Christians, the Jews of MENA?

Starting in the year 622, Muhammad began the Islamic conquest of the Arabian Peninsula where Muhammad often ordered the slaughter of the men of the Jewish tribes, taking the women to use to produce fighters or as wives, trained the male children in Islam and Jihad and raising the girls to become wives. After the death of Muhammad, the leaders of the Islamic tribes continued to expand their reach and by 725 had conquered Persia, Egypt and virtually all of the region of MENA and were making their way up the Iberian Peninsula (see map below). The spread of the Muslims was halted in the west by Charles the Hammer Martel at the battle of Tours and in the East by the Byzantines and the seemingly impervious walls of Constantinople. Our apologies to our regular readers who have suffered through this story repeatedly, but from here we will be giving a different twist. Between the Caliphates and the Ottoman Empire, the Islamic religion was preeminent ruling over almost all of MENA for 1200 years. During this period, despite what European history states as they simply restated the propaganda fed them by the Muslims and seldom questioned this perfect society where all were presumably equal and everything was sugar and spice and everything nice, the Jews did not have such royal treatment under Islamic rule. At best the Jew were Dhimmi, a form of second-class people who are forced to pay a special tax called the Jiyza. The Jiyza could be an affordable amount or it could be set such that the Dhimmis would be impoverished very rapidly. When a Dhimmi was unable to pay the Jiyza, they were often given a choice to convert or die. Jews, Christians and other Dhimmi were often forced to convert to Islam or face beheading and even after conversion they were still suspect and the slightest sign that they held to their former religion would result in their death. This was the lot of Jews under Islamic rule.

Expansion of Islam Across MENA and into Europe before Ottoman Rule

Expansion of Islam Across MENA and into Europe before Ottoman Rule

There was another period which the Jews were facing persecution no matter which way they turned with the only difference being whether they wished to be tortured, forced to convert and then often killed anyway by the Spanish Christians or the Muslims who were being pushed from the Iberian Peninsula and also facing the Spanish Inquisition. Both the Muslims, who were losing to the forces of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, and the Spanish Christian forces who were facing fierce resistance from the Muslims believed that the Jews were spies or in other ways supporting their foes. Whichever side the Jews found themselves, their best hope was to hide and not be seen as to be seen would result in torture and likely death as they were seldom able to provide information which was worthy of sparing their lives as after they spilled whatever they knew or whatever they invented when they lacked actual knowledge, they no longer served any purpose and thus were eliminated. So, up until World War I from the period of the Babylonian conquering of Jerusalem, the Jews resided constantly under foreign rule even inside of the region which had been their homelands. What is important for this article is that they never had much if any influence on the way the MENA world was fashioned as they were simply powerless and as Dhimmi often lucky if they avoided much notice by their local rulers or any ruler over them all the way up the Caliph, King or whatever title the highest ruler desired for themselves. The Jews who lived in the holy lands did go through a rough period whenever there was a Crusade as when the Christians from Europe liberated a town from its Islamic ruler, they would go through and persecute and kill the Muslims and the Jews. When the Islamic forces would take these regions back, they would persecute and kill the Christians and Jews. The underlying reality was that when your city changed hands, if you were only tortured and not killed, that was being fortunate. This all ended with World War I which changed the face of MENA, something the Arabs to this day resent and blame for their economic and other woes, but the Ottoman Empire was not the only empire broken up, the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and Greater Germany were also split into numerous nations (see map below).

German Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire Before WWI and After WWI

German Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire Before WWI and After WWI

World War I brought the end of the Ottoman Empire and Islamic rule across MENA countries with the exception of Persia which remained ruled under Islam. After World War I, the European nations divided up the regions of the Ottoman Empire with the intent of educating and installing European styled nations. As these assigned colonial rules were established under the numerous treaties and conferences and all approved by the League of Nations and signed by the former ruler and now the leader of the forerunner for the Arab League, these mandates and colonies were considered perfectly acceptable. This is the advantage of being the winners in the war. One of the conferences was the San Remo Conference which was where the British Mandate to set up the restored Jewish homelands was born. The idea and restoration of Israel in the Promised Land was a result of World War I and was not as a result of guilt over the Holocaust. The guilt over the Holocaust canard was invented to make it appear that the Jew received their lands due to European guilt over the Holocaust and not due to the restoration of indigenous peoples to their ancestral homes. This was the driving force behind the new maps drawn for MENA and for Eastern Europe. This was a redrawing of much of the maps of all of the old world and the birth of a new world. The British were not satisfied with giving the Jews the entirety of their Mandate lands as they owed the Arab King Faisal a promise to give each of his sons their own lands to rule as he was of assistance during World War I (watch Lawrence of Arabia for a Hollywood version of why). One son of the King received Iraq and the other was granted Jordan. This meant that the Jewish State was shrunk to a mere 22% of the Mandate lands, those west of the Jordan River, and the Arabs were given 78% of the Mandate lands east of the Jordan River. The Jordan River was to be the border between the Jewish State and the Arab State. The Kurdss were also to receive their own nation but when the British found oil around Mosul, they made a deal with the King or Iraq that in exchange for the area which was to be Kurdistan, he would allow J. Paul Getty to exploit the Mosul oil fields. Thus, the Kurds had their homelands squandered away for oil by the British, which might mean that Israel was lucky that there was no oil found west of the Jordan River. The map below depicts the nation responsible for what regions and the date in which they received their independence. As World War I ended in 1918 and much of the making of these colonies and Mandates took through 1920 to 1922, the Europeans colonized the region for mostly under fifty years, which is a very short period when compared to the Islamic conquest and rule which lasted 1200 years and then these nations have largely, if not completely, returned to Islamic rule to some extent or another except for Israel.

Dates that the MENA nations received their independence after colonial rule many since the times of the Persians or even earlier

So, as history tells us, the Jews had no part in formation of the Middle East as the mess that it represents today. The indigenous peoples across northern Africa were conquered by the Romans and then the Caliphates and Islamic rule followed by the Islamic Ottoman Empire. After twelve-hundred years of uninterrupted Islamic rule, these nations faced around fifty years of European rule before being left to their own devices which resulted in near unanimous return to Islamic rule under various kings, royal families and dictators. The real question as to who molded the current Middle East and all of the various conflicts and problems falls to the Islamic rulers of over a millennia, the borders decided by the European colonial enterprises resulting from World War I and the current rulers who took control of these various nations with borders drawn by the Europeans without regard for the tribal and religious variations of the region. The nations which retained much of their original ethnic history were Saudi Arabia, Iran (Persia), Syria, Turkey and the rebirth of Israel. The rest of the nations were inventions of the European map makers which were drawn, some claim, with the intent of making for internal strife which would require a strong dictatorial ruler who would keep order through brute force. Whether the problems resulted from the subjugation of indigenous peoples by the Islamic rulers or if you would rather blame the short span under European rule and the resulting borders, either way, the Jews had little to nothing to do with any of the problems. Even the internal problems faced by Israel are largely due to the British importing Arabs in an attempt to prevent the Jews from establishing their homeland. The problem with the Palestinian Arab refugees is actually predominantly the result of the Arabs and their attempt in 1948 to destroy the Jewish State at her inception. The vast majority of the Arab refugees was the result of the Mufti of Jerusalem insisting that the Arabs leave the region where Israel was to be formed such that the six invading Arab armies could simply slaughter everyone as they were to presumably breeze through the new state of Israel in a victorious slaughter whose intended result was best described by Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League at that time who stated, “It will be a war of annihilation. It will be a momentous massacre in history that will be talked about like the massacres of the Mongols or the Crusades.” The reality turned out quite different but the result left the Islamic forces occupying areas of Gaza, Judea and Samaria. Egypt was granted rule over Gaza and Jordan over Judea and Samaria which they renamed West Bank as the historic names were far too Jewish. The one thing which never existed in the entire history of the region was any nation named Palestine or any nation which used Jerusalem as their capital other than the Jews and their ancestors.

What will be the final ending result of the numerous attempts, 1948-9, 1967 Six Day War, 1973 Yom Kippur War and the terrorist enterprise which has lasted since the turn of the Twentieth Century predating even the establishment of Israel? This is the question which is troubling the world as they are doing everything humanly possible short of the world declaring war upon Israel to destroy the Jewish State ignoring International Law and the promises made in treaties and conferences across recent history, especially when one stops to consider that the Jewish history in the areas of the Promised Lands originates close to four-thousand years ago. Under International Law which includes but is not limited to the San Remo Conference, the Mandate System, the British agreement with the Zionist Congress and all enforceable by the United Nations under Article 80 of the charter, though one would be hard pressed to recognize this, the eastern border for Israel is the Jordan River. The reason the world appears to pressing so hard to have Israel recognize a new Arab state is because unless Israel signs away her rights to the lands west of the Jordan River in a treaty or similar document with equal footing, the International Law leaves the Arabs with no actual claim or recourse to the lands west of the Jordan River. The reason the conflict continues between the Palestinian Arabs (a misnomer as there was never a Palestine for them to be Palestinian) and Israel is because the world refuses to keep their promises to the Jews. The reality is that the Arab world spat out the vast majority of their Jews, some nations wiped their lands completely of their Jews, sending over eight-hundred-thousand Jews moving to the sole nation on earth which would take them in, Israel, and they were incorporated into the new nation and not placed in camps from which they could demand all they wanted for their former nations to repatriate them and return to them their properties, the exact opposite of the Arab response to their refugees which are still in camps along with their third and fourth generation children still waiting for the world to destroy Israel so they can, as Azzam Pasha stated before the 1948 invasion to destroy Israel and wipe out her Jews, return to their region and take of the spoils of the defeated and dead Jews. This conflict will end in one of two ways, either the Arabs will finally accept Israel and care for their own people or the world will attempt to destroy Israel be it Iran using nuclear weapons as they have threatened, the Arabs finally defeating Israel, or the entire world will declare war upon Israel probably through the United Nations in stages. The first stage will consist of the United Nations General Assembly petitioning the Security Council to strip Israel of her membership in that body and the Security Council accepting their petition favorably. The next stage will likely be another General Assembly petition of the Security Council to revoke the November 29, 1947 UNGA Res 181 which was offering another partition of the lands west of the Jordan River which the Arab League refused making it void anyways, but by doing so the move will be treated as the United Nations invalidating the establishment of Israel. Then Israel will exist and continue to exist but the world will have turned their backs on the Jewish State and pretend that Israel has no right to exist. Eventually, this will lead to a coalition of nations which will set to destroying Israel by whatever means are necessary. What the Bible predicts about this final conflict does not bode well for the coalition as the arrival of the Messiach will be the deciding factor and the world will one last time feel the wrath of Hashem. The one thing which we can be assured of is that the Jews had nothing to do with the mess the nations stretching across the MENA region are suffering and if they would simply allow it, Israel could do much towards making these nations productive and their people wealthy and comfortable. There is so much they would gain by working with Israel instead of attempting to destroy her, but that would take common sense which Voltaire, Will Rogers or Mark Twain noted, “Common Sense is not so common.”

The Arab Compromise to the Conflict

In early September of 1967, after the Arab defeat in the Six Day War, the Arab League released their Khartoum Resolution which could be boiled down to its central concept, the Three No’s; No peace with Israel, No recognition of Israel, No negotiations with Israel. This was after Egyptian, Syrian, Jordanian and other Arab news reports had claimed their offensive against Israel was a huge success and they would have taken Tel Aviv if only the world had not forced them to pull back. The reality was something entirely different as Israel had defeated the Arab armies on every front. Against the Egyptians, the Israelis had liberated Gaza, which Egypt had illegally held since the 1948-9 Arab War to eliminate Israel as well as taking control of the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula. Against the Jordanians, the Israelis liberated eastern Jerusalem including the Old City and Temple Mount along with the areas of Judea and Samaria, which Jordan had held illegally and moved thousands of Jordanians into the region to Arabize it and they called it the West Bank as that sounded far less Jewish than Judea and Samaria. Against Syria, Israel took control of the Golan Heights bringing an end to the constant harassment using sniper fire, artillery and rockets fired into the Israeli towns, kibbutzim and farm lands which the Golan Heights overlooked. Once more, in October of 1973 the Arab nations of Egypt and Syria attempted once again to destroy the Jewish State and after initial gains were routed once again with only the world demands preventing Israel from taking Damascus, Cairo and Alexandria. By the end of the Yom Kippur War, the borders returned to the armistice lines established after the Six Day War, (see map below).

Six Day War Beginning and Resulting Positions from June 5, 1967 to June 10, 1967

These were the results of the first three wars the Arab world waged against Israel. Israel, in the 1948-9 was often called the winner simply because she was not destroyed. The world likes to refer to this as the Israeli War of Independence. The reality was that when Israel announced their independence, which was recognized by most of the world on May 15, 1948 (Israel announced their independence as of sunset of May 14, 1948 as Israeli day begins at sunset of the evening before and not at midnight. This war was predicted so succinctly by Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League at that time who stated, “It will be a war of annihilation. It will be a momentous massacre in history that will be talked about like the massacres of the Mongols or the Crusades.” It turns out that he was slightly overly-optimistic about their success. Israel was not supposed to have been capable of withstanding an assault by six Arab Armies bolstered by numerous militias. Still, Israel lost Gaza to Egypt and the greater parts of Judea and Samaria to the Jordanians. It actually took a daring assault in the final hours for Israel to have been enabled to retain Western regions of Jerusalem and a roadway connecting the area to the main body of the remainder of Israel. During all of these wars, there was absolutely no nation called Palestine and previous to this, the term Palestinian was most often used to describe the Jews. The Arabs were referred to as Arabs or as Jordanian, Egyptian, Syrian, Iraqi, Saudi or whatever Arab nations their names indicated. It was before this war that the Mufti of Jerusalem announced that all Arabs should leave the regions where the Jews were so the invading Arab armies could simply slaughter everyone they would come across. There were over half a million Arabs who responded and fled to behind the Arab armies. After their failure to destroy Israel and kill every Jew, the Arabs immediately placed these Arabs, and any others who had fled to their side during the fighting, into camps and have held them there along with their progeny demanding that they be repatriated into Israel using this as a different means of destroying the Jewish State. These are the Palestinian refugees which there is so much arguing over their having been dispossessed. We discussed this in greater depth in our article “Israel Never Placed a Single Arab in a Refugee Camp.” These Arabs are the unfortunate victims of a society which refuses to admit the right of the Jews to their own nation in their ancestral homelands. The reason the Arabs provide is simple, once lands have been ruled by Islam, they must never be permitted to fall or return to any other rule. With Israel, this becomes a double problem for them as they regard Jews to be inferior and incapable of self-rule and as a people, if they ever recognize Jews as actual people, requiring the kind hand of Islamic rule. That kind hand of Islamic rule deported over eight-hundred-thousand Jews from their lands between 1950 and around 1960. The vast majority of these Jews had no place to go as Europe and the remainder of the Western World refused to allow them to immigrate into their countries just as the world had closed their doors to the Jews during World War II leaving them at the mercies of the Shoah. Where does everyone think these Jews went? Well, listening to the youth on Western College campuses, they claim that Israel was made up of only Jews from Europe and they will refuse to believe the truth, that half of the Israeli population came from the Middle East, North Africa and other places around the world completely away from the Western World. When anti-Semites claim that the Jews can simply return to their nations of origin, well, two things, first is Israel is our nation of origin and second, half came from countries who would murder them as soon as they attempted to return as they are parts of the Islamic Arab world.

Why is it that when people challenge the right of the nation of Israel to exist, it is referred to as anti-Semitism. That is actually more easily explained than accepted. The reality is that if the only nation one claims has no right for self determination is the only Jewish nation and no other nation is decried the right to exist, then you are making your accusation based on a single point, that Israel is the home of the Jewish People. When one claims that if a Jew supports Israel, then they are guilty of dual-loyalties and one does not make the same claim against Japanese, Germans, Australians, Russians, Chinese and the rest of the world, then you are making your denial of equal rights about the Jews. There are a number of means for testing if the claim you are going to make about Israel is anti-Semitic or true criticism, simply replace Israel and Israeli with any other groups or minority. Change Israel to gay or lesbian or Hispanic and if it then sounds sexist or racist, then your attack on Israel or Israelis is probably more anti-Semitic than true criticism. Then there are the claims which are simply ridiculous if one were to go so far as to honestly think what their saying through. One obvious accusation is that the Israelis use the IDF to murder Palestinians whenever they have an opportunity. If this statement were true, does anybody honestly believe there would still be a conflict and Palestinians left to protest and carry out terror strikes? Another was the claim that Israel was to be held responsible for the Honor Killings in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority regions which Israel allows the Arab relative to full autonomy and Israel does not enforce laws or even enter the regions under semi-autonomous Arab rule. The picture below shows a sign placed at the entrance to the Palestinian Arab semiautonomous region in Judea and Samaria and it is quite strict and accurate in the warnings. There are no similar signs for the Arabs entering Israel though they are often required to pass through a checkpoint, something quite ordinary when entering a foreign nation as the Palestinian Arabs are not Israeli citizens.

The continuing rise of anti-Semitism around the globe will never lead to a resolution of the Arab Israeli Conflict. The first thing one need understand is that Israel has accepted any number of solutions which the Arabs have rejected. Israel accepted the original plan by the United Nations General Assembly, against the promises of Article 80 of the UN Charter, to divide the lands west of the Jordan River evenly which the Arab League rejected opting for the 1948-9 war to annihilate Israel and her Jews. Israel has accepted a series of offers all of which were turned down by the Arabs and immediately followed with an Intifada or increased terrorist bombings. The problem goes back to the Khartoum Resolution and the fact that the Arabs will only accept a solution where the Jews do not rule themselves, Israel is erased, and they get to decide what the eventual result will be for the Israeli Jews and other non-Islamic minorities. As for what would be done with the Jews, we need look no further than to what Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League predicted would be the result when the Arabs defeated the Jews in 1948, something which blessedly did not happen as the Israelis, though losing land, remained viable though precariously close to indefensible. Further, the reason the world insists that Israel recognize an Arab state cut from the heart of her lands is because all the lands west of the Jordan River belong to Israel under international law and unless Israel releases claim to the lands, there is no other means of taking away these lands. The Arabs know the laws as they signed onto these agreements after World War I and the defeat of Germany, Austrian-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman Empire by the allied powers. The claim that only the Arab lands had new boundaries is another lie as Germany lost lands to form Poland, Austrian Hungarian Empire was torn into numerous smaller nations, and the maps of Eastern Europe looked very different after the peace was reached (see map below). Many of the claims against Israel depend on the modern lack of knowledge of history, especially history which goes back before six-weeks ago, or so it seems with many of those who protest Israel and their lack of knowledge of the history, the Mandate System, World War I and the resultant changes made in the world. Many of today’s youth could not tell you within ten years when World War II ended, let alone World War I.

Between the lack of historical knowledge and the heavy propaganda the Arab world, financed with petro-dollars, wages against Israel, it is no wonder why Israel is on the losing end world opinion. When one throws in anti-Semitism and the predilection to finding fault with the Jews and automatically siding with those who oppose the Jews and you have a near perfect storm. The one catch is that the Jews have outlasted every empire which has attempted to destroy us over the last four-thousand years. The Arabs claim that they will outwait the Jews because they are a desert people and have patience. The Jews are one of the first desert people and we waited longer than Islam had been in existence to return to our ancestral homelands and we are not leaving, ever. The Jews are probably the only peoples on the planet who can claim to having patience equal if not longer than that of the Chinese, Indians or Japanese or any other group known for longevity. Then there are those who claim where is our deed to these lands, and the answer is it is in the Torah, the Five Books of Moses, and our claim predates the Arab people emerging from the Arabian Peninsula, and that says something there. The Jews had established their homeland of Israel while the Arabs were still idolaters living in the Arabian Peninsula. In closing, all we wish to add is that Israel has returned and Israel will remain and will not fall again, ever. Or, to put it succinctly, Am Yisroel Chai!
