Why the World Refuses to Believe Israel

It does not often matter what statement, claim or observation comes from Israel, the world will turn everything inside-out, upside-down, twist and torture, spindle and mutilate and then complain that everything is unintelligible. Shakespeare’s sonnets could not survive such treatment without coming back sounding like something from Chaucer. If Israel were to claim that daytime is bright and sunny and the nights dark and mysterious, the UN and EU would get together, work with the Arab League and appoint a committee to study the Israeli commentary. Their assignment would not be to verify its veracity but to find some ulterior motive hidden inside with which to reject the entire commentary. When Israel argued that the Temple Mount rules were being altered and Jews were being denied rights to go upon one of their holy sites, the UN through UNESCO decided that the Temple Mount had no connection to Judaism and threw in the rest of Jerusalem for good measure and then stated they only belonged and were attached to Islam. This probably came as a bit of a shock to the world’s Christians because if the Temple Mount was never in the hands of the Jewish People, then Jesus would not have had any moneychangers’ tables to overturn amongst numerous other items. This was the same thing concerning Rachel’s Tomb and the Tomb of the Patriarchs along with Shiloh and Hevron. Currently the EU is building cities and communities across Area C, the region supposedly under complete Israeli control, placing EU emblems and Palestinian Arab deeds of ownership. These communities are being positioned such that they cut off all of the Shomron from Jerusalem and the rest of Israel. One can only predict that eventually the EU, along with whomever they can wrestle up, will build structures for the Palestinian Arabs around the Tel Aviv city limits so they can claim even Tel Aviv.

But the world will not listen as they do not see how any of this relates to their problems. This is where it starts to get stranger than weird. Israelis have been telling the world that the Arabs do not desire an actual state for the Palestinian Arabs, they want Israel destroyed by the Palestinian Arabs. The entire idea is to terrorize and attack Jews until they get tired of the difficulties and leave. There are a few holes in their theory. First and foremost, we Jews do not desire to leave and are not the slightest way interested in departing our ancestral lands. The world thinks that means we are packing and will be leaving soon if only they continue to apply pressure. We warn the world that the Arabs main goal is not building anything but the tearing down of Israel destroying everything and either driving the Jews into the Sea or murdering them on the land. To this we are told we are overreacting and need to calm down. Even when translated documents and videos are displayed where they are caught saying these exact things in Arabic, the world becomes too frozen in ignorance to translate these for themselves while dismissing every translation as pro-Israel no matter what researchers provide. It often appears as if the intent of the world’s actions are intended to remove the Jewish State no matter the cost to humanity. Such is the foolishness Zionists face when attempting to explain the Jewish People’s love for their Jerusalem and all of Eretz Yisroel, all of Eretz Yisroel.

Israel primarily is the one place on the planet where a Jew is accepted and taken at face value and granted safety. The safety is not yet perfect, but neither is the world, and that is something which requires additional efforts. Jews have not had a singular place which they could call home with complete certainty. After the Roman Dispersion, the Jews never had assured safety whether they resided in Europe, Africa or the Middle East. Things were not necessarily improved with the discovery of the new world, the Americas. Even the presumed security Jews felt with the United States has developed some serious flaws. Synagogue shootings, attacks on streets even in New York City area, hate on many college campuses, academia turning against Israel and that is becoming simply anti-Semitism. Even the halls of Congress have been breached and contaminated with anti-Semitism. Europe is not any better with a distinct possibility that an anti-Zionist, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic candidate will be elected as Prime Minister of Britain in the coming elections. Should Jeremy Corbyn become the next Prime Minister, will there remain anything which the Jews could claim as a reason for remaining within Britain? Many believe that the answer is a definitive, no. Other nations within Europe have outlawed shechita and some have outlawed circumcision claiming any variation of reasons for these actions. Some of the reasons include gaining the child’s permission, humanitarian reasons, kindness for animals and anything other than making Jews unwelcome. These actions are historic in their precedence and have been used with the same excuses to drive Jews from nations since the beginning of history and even before. The Greeks, Babylonians, Persians and Romans all forbade circumcision and many forbade reading of Torah or saying the Shema, all in the aim of wiping out Judaism and the practice thereof. There is nothing new under the sun, if we may quote King Solomon.

The world desires not to believe that the Jewish People have begun to return to their ancestral homelands fulfilling prophesy. This stands in direct opposition to the modernist secular humanist view of the world. Secular humanism refutes the existence of a supreme being and places everything as under some discipline of science, either physics, mathematics, biology, philosophy and the rest of the hard and soft sciences. There are no mysteries, only things not yet discovered. This is strange as many a physicist and other practical scientific discipline are starting to believe that the universe could not have occurred by accident. This has led some to believe there was a creator while others believe there are infinite universes and this one just happened to turn out just right which explains our existence. The one problem with secular humanism is that it gives life no meaning beyond the physical aspects of life which leads one to believe that there are no universal rules or ultimate entity and thus ultimate goodness or evilness. Life becomes but a series of acts without any meaning beyond what the person felt. This leads quickly to the, if it feels good-do it, philosophy of life. Should the Jews really establish Israel, then the Bible is again validated and thus there are actual principles and reality has good and evil and they have definitions. Life is meant to pursue goodness and to improve oneself and thus make the world a better place. The Jews reestablishing their ancestral homelands just as put forth in scripture fulfills that prophecy which told of the redemption in some future where Jerusalem and the Jewish homelands became the central location for these events. Just as the people found the means through which they were returning to their former lifestyle where there was only the morality of the moment and nothing had any real meaning beyond that which one assigned it. Gender was variable, not defined biologically. Pleasure was the ultimate goal, not virtue. Now the return of Israel means that there is a Supreme Being and thus a moral code meant for mankind. If one believes in Israel, then they believe in Hashem and thus there exists morality and self-discipline becomes expected of every human being. This is the same fight the Jews have faced since the days when their opposition was Baal and the evil was child sacrifice. Today that same fight is facing Planned Parenthood and the remainder of the meat market which is the abortion industry. The new priests wear the garb of a physician but is no different than the priests of Baal.

Israel is equated to mean the Jews. The Jews are equated with morality, self-control, limitations upon actions, kindness between one another and the golden rule. The one item people have which is a misconception is that the Jews demand that the world live by their strict standards. That is not true. The only thing we expect is for anyone living within Israel to follow at a minimum the Noahic Code, the Seven Noahide Laws. The commandments of the Torah and other Jewish doctrines are for the Jews and are not expected of non-Jews. What we hope is through our following Torah we will have an enviable life which will cause others to act more nobly, more kindly and attempt to attain a righteous life emulating the success of the Jews. We hope our actions and interactions lead people to find our ways pleasing and inviting and thus people will improve but only if we, as Jews, get our act together and follow the life dictated in Torah. Have the Jewish People yet attained such a standard? Unfortunately, not yet but many are trying and with any success their actions will lead to others also improving themselves and living a more righteous life. This is why so many want Israel to disappear, to fail, to be destroyed once and for all and the Jewish People with it such that the Torah and the Bible can be said to be false. It is the morality which accompanies Judaism and the humane laws of the Torah which the refounding of Israel affirms and this means that the Biblical morality is real, Hashem is real and secular humanism is simply another blind alley leading mankind nowhere positive. Israel reaffirms the Jews and everything which that entails. Conscience is a Jewish invention was once stated by one of the most hateful towards the Jews and responsible for the murder of over six-million Jews and of an equal number of Roma, Polish, Russians and others Hitler found undesirable. That is the end which godlessness leads to and it has with every godless society ever established by mankind.

Conscience is a Jewish invention

The return of Israel has far deeper implications and mankind can only hope that they all come to fruition so that the human race can advance around a moral core. Israel can be the hope of mankind and a source of inspiration as well as a spring which whets one’s appetite to work for mutual advancement bringing people together harmoniously. Morality leads to love while immorality feeds one’s lusts leaving them lacking any real or honest emotions. That is the difference of living to meet a standard set high so aspiring to fulfill these expectations make one grow swelling with a sense of purposeful accomplishment. Judaism, the child nestled as Israel, is a cradle filled with potential and a granted set of guidelines through which to develop a sentient and compassionate person who is capable of imparting a message of Torah as their guiding light even in a world of darkness. Torah is what kept the Jews during their prolonged dispersion which spanned two millennia and is only now in the past century and a half started coming to an end. The spreading anti-Semitism will only act as an accelerant in bringing the Jewish People back home. Sure, there will be Jews who never do return and may even refute their Jewishness. We have lost family such as these before and will lose others as the future unfolds, but we retain a central core which demands we remain true to the original words from Hashem to Moses. Those words Moses taught the Israelites to be their Torah, their law, is the same as the Torah found in any synagogue. These are the unaltered words spoken at Mount Sinai during the Exodus to the best of any recollections. This is what all the fuming and fussing is over, who has the proper definition for the world to follow. The Jews do not demand or even request that others need follow Torah and its six-hundred-thirteen Commandments, or even the Seven Noahide Laws as outside of Israel is your world and you can do with it as you please. We only demand or expect certain actions for our fellow Jews and for those who choose to reside amongst us. If anyone desires to be free of living with the Jews, just avoid Jerusalem and the rest of Israel and then do as you wish, we only wish to serve as an example of one more meaningful way to live. Our aim is to inspire and encourage, and the world finds that to be annoying to such a level as to desire the destruction of all things Jewish beginning with Israel. It should be obvious that one refuses to believe those they desire to destroy.

What are the Jews to Expect from the World?

We are told that we are not supposed to expect much from the world. We are further told that the world is not likely to understand or be particularly favorable towards us. We are not to expect the world to understand Jews or Judaism as they are unlikely to have read the Torah or the Bible, in this case the Old Testament. We are told that this does not matter as it is the Jews responsibility to learn Torah and practice all of its Laws and Commandments, all six-hundred-thirteen Commandments. We are to obey the Oral Law which will be our duty and through learning and practicing to live as Hashem desires of the Jews, we can affect the world. Through our actions we can affect the world both for goodness and for evil. The main expectation we have is that should we ever master living lives worthy of Hashem, then the world will take care of itself and peace will rule over the world. But then again, if all Jews were to meet this expectation for a decent length of time, such would usher in the Messiach which would perfect the world. We should not see our actions as repairing the world, we are to repair that in ourselves and should we actually perfect our own lives, then the world will take care of itself and the Messiach would arrive to set the world on its course of perfection. This is, of course, a near impossibility, for every Jew to obey the Laws and Commandments from Torah and as instructed by those knowledgeable of these laws and are charged with teaching us. We also are told to read the Torah and engross ourselves in its words and its ways such that we are to be holy before our Creator. The entire being a Jew sounds easy, except it is not nor is it intended to be easy. Following all that Hashem expects from us is supposed to be a struggle which only a few ever succeed in each generation. These select few may not be the Torah scholars but rather these righteous individuals can be anybody and it is their actions which save our world. The Jews can make the challenge put before these righteous individuals much easier simply by taking care of our own actions.

This brings us to what we are to expect of the world. Basically, not all that much is to be expected of the world until we have perfected ourselves. This is the actual instruction given for us to perform to perfect the world, to practice that which we call Tikkun Olam. Largely, Jews are expected to live a Torah observant life and to be holy before Hashem. Would the Jews master this calling and all stand before Hashem and be found worthy of the Messiach, then Hashem will allow for the Messiach to come and rule over the Jews and the rest of the world would see how wonderful our lives have become that they will, in turn, desire to become holy before Hashem, or at least do so as best as they are able. As Jews, we are not to attempt to take on the world and all its problems, threats and challenges as until we have perfected ourselves, who are we to perfect the world. Our example of living a holy life and reaping the rewards which come with such observance will take care of making the world become more perfect. When those who are not Jewish come and ask for guidance towards living a holy life, we are to instruct them on performing the Noahic Code (listed below). These are the seven Commandments provided Noah which were to lead to a perfected world, a perfected world simply by humankind following seven simple rules. These rules are listed in the Torah as a barometer on how the people of the world are behaving. Part of the reason for the Torah and its six-hundred-thirteen Laws was for setting one peoples before the world as an example for how to live a moral life. These laws, when followed, allow for the world to be perfected and thus all will see the Jews living as Hashem expects of them and the rewards they receive in the form of crops and other endeavors taken up by the Jews yielding great rewards, the example provided by the Jews will bring people who will ask, demand even, for the Jews to share with them the ways of Hashem so they too can have the goodness of the land.

This brings us to what the Jews are supposed to provide as answers to their questions of how they are to follow Hashem. The expectations the world is to follow has radically fewer Commandments as there exist in Judaism. This Divine Code of laws were initially provided before Noah which is why they are also known as the Noahic Code. This group of laws is significantly less in numbers from the six-hundred-thirteen Commandments expected of a Jew, the Divine Noahic Code consists of a mere seven laws (see graphic below). These, we are told, are the minimal number of laws required in order to have a functioning, good and civilized society. Through having humankind obey the Noahic Code will the world be set on the path towards redemption. This sounds easy, but remember that first the world will be required to meet expectations, something that the world finds difficult to do as they stray from the path which Hashem laid out before them. This was partly the cause of the Great Flood. Hashem promised Noah that never again would Hashem destroy the world in the same manner. We are to remember this promise as a challenge for us to all follow the Noahic Code. When non-Jews inquire of Jews to be instructed in the proper way to live, we are not supposed to inundate them with the Mitzvoth of Torah and all that is entailed in the Laws; instead we are to give them the Seven Noahic Code of Laws, the Divine Code. Should they respond with the query as to ask, is this all that we need, the Jew is supposed to tell then it will suffice and is not as easy as one may believe and they should first attempt to live by the Seven Laws and wish them well.

The Divine Code of Seven Universal Commandments

The Divine Code of Seven Universal Commandments

The Jews need follow the entirety of Torah and Oral Law which requires that we rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Inside Judaism there is the controversy as to whether we mortals are to rebuild the Sanctuary and the Temple or should we wait for the Messiach before rebuilding. Then there are those who are of the belief that Hashem will provide the last Temple and it will either drop out of the sky or simply appear out of nothing, but we hold the belief that we are required to build the Temple, but not until we have gathered the ingathering and are following the laws of the Written and Oral Codes ourselves. There are those who claim that this is a task which we will never reach completion as it demands too much from us. Where six-hundred-thirteen Laws does initiate quite a challenge, we need remember that approximately one-third of the Laws deal with the daily services and rituals performed by the Cohanim and Levites and the correct distribution of the eaten parts of the sacrifice. These Laws are all concerning the rituals and instruct the order for the daily sacrifices. It was Maimonides wrote in, “The Guide for the Perplexed,” stating, “that God deliberately has moved Jews away from sacrifices towards prayer, as prayer is a higher form of worship,” and this has been taken as a sign that the sacrifices will instead be prayers with the expectations that all Jews will be expected to pray and assist in carrying out this burden. This is another of those items which time will tell and provide us with signs and answers if only we are sufficiently intelligent to interpret them.

Initially, we were taught back in the times of the two Temples, mankind was brutish and uncivilized with the majority not even aware of the Divine Code nor aware of Hashem as they worshiped idols and their idolatry included often human and child sacrifice. Judaism spends an inordinate amount of effort refuting any possible reason which might claim that idolatry was a good thing. Many of the idolaters also practiced human sacrifice even to include child sacrifice, something the Jews were forbidden from doing. In Judaism, all human life is precious. As to what the Jews were to expect from the world during the Biblical and Temple period was very little. The outside world was perceived more as a threat than an opportunity. We were warned that should we follow in the path of Hashem, then we would receive the necessary rain for our crops and would not be defeated by those others who basically surrounded us. Should we fail to follow the Commandments from Hashem, then initially the rain would stop and famine would come as a warning to repent. Should the Jews not repent, then they would be conquered which is exactly what occurred bringing the First and Second Temple Periods to an end. Jewish sages placed the main reason for the destruction of the First Temple to the people turning to idolatry and the Second Temple’s destruction was due to Jews disrespecting one another. These horrific disasters which struck the Jews could have been used as a moment of learning, but as is usual, no lessons were taken to heart by the world. One good sign that the Jews may have learned something from the destruction of the First Temple came from archaeological excavations of Jerusalem, Hevron and other ancient cities before the destruction of the First Temple, it was common to find what would have been household idols and personal idols and in excavations of post First Temple Period almost completely devoid of idols.

In current times and with the return of Israel, our ancient homelands, Jews will once again have their own nation. This will bring up the question as to what the Jews expect from the world. We need to be brutally honest with ourselves and with the peoples of the world. We do not expect that suddenly the Jews will have become the darlings of the world with everyone loving them. What we expect is rejection of our return by at the least half of the world if not more and indifference from the majority of the remainder. The United Nations has proven that even that might have been overly optimistic. We do not expect acceptance by many who practiced replacement theology as they took a path in which the Jews are the accursed. Jews have no chance for redemption unless they renounce Judaism and convert to whichever Christian or Islamic sect or denomination holding to this theory. Islam believes that they not only replaced the Jews but also the Christians and that they are the final reformation which was inspired by heaven. Any following of replacement theology views the Jews as accursed and having been cast away by Hashem never to be restored to their ancestral position or to their ancestral homelands. This is partly why the Catholic Church, almost all of Islam and numerous Christian sects which denounce the Jews returning to Israel and demanding that the Jews and Israel be destroyed. This comes down to a basic and central concept within replacement theology in that the Jews cannot return to their ancestral lands and rebuild the temple as such would be proof that Hashem never did condemn the Jews and forsake the Jews but rather still holds to the covenant between Hashem and the Jews. The Jews cannot expect anything other than continued rejection from these peoples.

From the world at large, the Jews pretty much expect little to nothing. The Jews require a more inward inspection where they need to reach some conclusions to some very deep questions. The biggest of these is whether or not to rebuild the Temple and, if so, where. Such an effort will have those holding to replacement theology doing everything in their power to prevent this from being completed. We hope that with time Israel will become more religious and we will live better lives following the Commandments. As we improve our totality and come closer to Torah, we will then expect that we can affect the world in a positive manner and expect the remainder of the world to at the very least attempt to follow the Noahic Code. We will, as the nation of the Jews, continue to provide disaster relief around the globe whenever disaster places people in need. We will continue to make advances in every field and share these with the world at large. We expect nothing more from the rest of the world beyond please just leave us alone within our tiny lands west of the Jordan and stop attempting to destroy what little we have remaining from the British Mandate, a whole twenty-two-percent with the Arab Palestinians already having been given the seventy-eight-percent of the region. We desire peace and an end to terrorism. Not just in Israel, but over the entirety of humankind wherever we reside and on whatever planet we may find on which to start a colony in the future. We would like to lay claim to Planet Israel pictured below should such ever be found. Otherwise, we simply desire to live amongst everyone in peace and mutual respect.

Planet Israel

Planet Israel

In the end, the Jews merely desire to be considered as one of those civilized peoples and we simply hope that such a reference continues to apply to more peoples each year. We wish to grant respect to all and hope they will return the same. We hope to treat others with respect, caring, love and peace and hope to receive the same. As Jews we will try and set an example of living a good life where all are granted the respect due them as creatures beloved of Hashem. This, we hope, will spread to the entirety of the world and we can all work together for the mutual benefit in all things. We will respect life. We would like to be able to expect such in return. We wish to grant the world the Noahic Code and in time share the wisdom and ways of the Torah with those who feel the desire to become closer to the teachings in the Torah. We are not seeking to convert any unless they come and ask us. Our mainstay for attracting others is by living the life as defined in Torah. We will not proselytize and only answer those who inquire. Even those seeking to convert will find that it is not easy to do. This is intentional as we only wish those who will represent Judaism with the warmth, love and respect for human life and Hashem with all the Commandments held in their heart. We hope to be mindful of others and pray to receive the same. We do not desire more land or to rule over the world or even rule others, taking care of ourselves is sufficient challenge. We do not seek wealth but are not afraid of it either. We do seek acceptance and know to receive such one must first grant acceptance which we will to all with a special place for those following the Divine Code and an even closer place in our heart for those of the Covenant, keepers of the Commandments. It really is that simple.

Israel – Sometimes You Have to be the Majority of One

There has been a fair amount of talk, of discussions, a few arguments and much unnecessary bending of the truth about the future of relations between Israel, the United States and the whole of the Western World. This reached a boiling point recently over the allegations recently stated and tweeted by Ilhan Omar claiming that the Jews buy the support for Israel when she tweeted that support for Israel in the United States was “It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” and, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,” and after demands were given from Democrat Party leadership, she made a unimpassioned apology. Unfortunately, Ilhan Omar is not the problem, she is but the very tip of an ever-growing iceberg throwing frigid cold on support for Israel on the far left. With the drift of American politics inexorably shifting leftward for over a century, what is on the far left today will be a centrist view within a decade or two at the most. We have seen how Europe has drifted away from Israel as fully on display at every United Nations vote to sanction or condemn Israel, an unfortunate reality all too often on display. As for the remainder of the world, the Group of 77 (a bloc of 134 developing nations) just unanimously chose Palestine and its dictatorial president, Mahmoud Abbas, to lead the group for 2019. On January 15, 2019, Mahmoud Abbas addressed the group at the handover ceremony where he stated in his acceptance speech, “Terrorism takes place worldwide on a daily basis. It is an epidemic and I therefore call on all countries of the world to cooperate, to put an end to terrorism, to uproot it.” This coming from the arch-terrorist who authorizes payments to terrorists and their families commensurate to the number of Israelis they murdered and maimed, who implores his people to murder Israelis in the name of Allah and whose entire government is designed around the support of terrorism. Abbas was the man who arranged and transferred monies which paid for the Munich Olympics terror attack on the Israeli Olympic Team. The belief that terrorism is a joke and something which can benefit one with great wealth and all commemorations for the victims of terrorism is just an event which is just so amusing one must grin as the Cheshire Cat from the adventures of Alice down the rabbit hole. We know you demand proof of such a defaming, or in his own admissions, credit, attack on the integrity of Mahmoud Abbas, so below is a picture of him at the memorial rally for the murdered of Charlie Hebdo as well as those at the Hypercacher kosher supermarket. The only item on the mind of Mahmoud Abbas at the memorial march was getting camera time and expressing his glee that he was permitted to participate in this event as it simply would play well in the media. The smirk on his face tell the whole story of this terrorist in a suit.

But Mahmoud Abbas, like his predecessor Yasser Arafat, is all about terrorism and the drive to destroy Israel. The fact he has been awarded the semi-prestigious position heading the Group of 77 is more a commentary on the sad state of world affairs than it is about Abbas. This is a club representing the majority of the nations of our little planet. This singling out of Israel, the world’s sole Jewish majority nation, while many other nations with more serious problems affecting the world is, at the very least, problematic. What is seldom reported are the times Israel has gone literally around to the other side of the globe to assist people they have little if any relationship with simply because they were suffering after a natural emergency. We have a YouTube video below of a CNN reporter who was in Haiti to report on the desperation the Haitians faced after their devastating earthquake made all the more treacherous by their brick and mortar structures which largely collapsed. What she found and was pointed to by her initial interviews was the Israeli field hospital. She gives a very brief view of the Israeli station, something which has been edited and drastically cut since its original posting, we are unable to find the original, but the one nurse states plainly that if not for the Israeli field hospital, they would have lost numerous more patients. This is far from a single episode as the IDF has units in one command which are expressly trained and equipped to handle natural and other emergencies and they often respond and are on site and operating within twenty-four hours of the event. The Israeli searchers were the first to reach Nepal and the last group to leave after their earthquake. They visited a small village while assisting in the Philippines after a severe typhoon ravaged the islands which had never received any assistance or even seen a representative of the Philippine government, let alone anyone else before the Israelis arrived. The Israelis left behind a fully stocked health clinic with monitors and other equipment and sent people back to train the villagers on the use of the technology. The Israeli disaster teams often leave the structures they erect fully stocked and often with equipment and later return with personnel who train the physicians, nurses, technicians and the leaders and more educated people of small villages where medical personnel is barely a step above a medicine-man. Below the video is a map depicting the locations of IDF Field Hospitals throughout the world up through the first half of 2015. For additional inspiration, if required, Israel 21 provides an interactive world map which can be set to show the different varieties of aid and the locations receiving aid and the reason if needed which is honestly jaw-dropping. But the world acts as if Israel is the problem.

Israel aids nations and areas which are distressed, including the United States after Katrina and Sandy, a pair of particularly damaging hurricanes. So, many nations send aid all over the world. The difference is that Israel is quite a bit smaller than most of the other nations. The only means of depicting such is a comparative map which we made comparing Israel depicted to size compared to Great Britain, the United States, Australia and India (see below). We have learned through comments and even some insults, such as Israel has taken over much of the Middle East, an outrageous a statement as one could imagine, that there are many people who believe that Israel is the size of America or at least larger than most European nations. That is about as preposterous and plain wrong as one can be. The fact that Israel often manages to perform tasks and leave her mark in such an obvious and unmistakable impression that people are led to see Israel as much larger and populous than she really is. According to United Nations statistics, Israel is the one-hundredth largest nation by population and the one-hundred-forty-ninth largest nation by area while having approximately thirty-fifth highest GDP per capita and is considered to be the eleventh happiest nation in the world. Those figures hopefully give a more balanced view of Israel, the not quite super-power nation. We understand the fact that Israel has repulsed attacks by several Arab nations who were attacking her in coordinated fashion and that this has led to a warped view of Israel as being larger and far more potent militarily and otherwise than she actually measures when done scientifically. Further, the numbers of developments, medicines, treatments, agricultural advances and other scientific and economic accomplishments also add to this image, but Israel is actually a tiny nation geographically. Even should Israel retain all of the Shomron (disputed territories formerly illegally occupied by Jordan from 1949 until the June 1967 Six Day War) Israel would still only be approximately fifty miles in width.

The IDF has estimated that it would take an invading aircraft a mere few minutes after crossing into Israel proving ill intentions before they would be overflying Tel Aviv, Israel’s largest metropolitan region, and would reach Jerusalem in half that time and Jericho in seconds. Another reason Israel feels she has to retain control of the Jordan River Valley and the cliffs overlooking this natural geographical defensive position against ground assault is made obvious in the image below depicting this barrier. Further, the cliffs above would provide Israel with positions for RADAR systems used as an early warning system of aircraft approaching from the east. The arguments for annexing the Golan Heights, which Israel officially did on December 14, 1981 are virtually identical to those for the Jordan River Valley and overlooking cliffs plus as a defensive measure to prevent Syrian snipers from shooting at farmers in the Galilee valley and other agricultural regions near the Syrian border. What the world refuses to consider is that Israel, except for the Judean Hills, which are part of the disputed territories, and Golan Heights is mostly flat coastal plains. Without the disputed territories, Israel around the Tel Aviv metropolitan area would be a mere nine to twelve miles wide, less than the width of Washington D.C. which is barely over fourteen miles. This is part of the reason finding an agreeable position which balances the Israeli military and land use concerns with the Arab demand that Israel be erased from being ruled by Jews and become an Arab majority nation after the influx of over five-million ‘so-called refugees’ who are spread throughout the Palestinian ruled areas and the surrounding Arab nations is necessary.

Despite Israel’s lack of size and being greatly outnumbered by the surrounding Arab World, Israel has never requested for any other nation to fight with her in any of the wars she has been forced to fight. The United States did provide, at their insistence, crews to operate the wide-band over-the-horizon RADAR System they loaned Israel, but that was to prevent Israel getting too close to the advanced technology provided by the United States. Apparently, the technology transfers, including military technology such as the complete schematics and programs for the Iron Dome Systems, only flow in one direction for the most part. That was fine as Israel developed such a system. Israel even gave the United States an upgrade for the F-16, rear-view mirrors. On the military and defensive front, Israel prevented Saddam Hussein and Iraq from producing nuclear weapons by destroying the French provided Osiris-class nuclear reactor on June 7, 1981, which would have permitted Iraq to have had nuclear weapons before the First Gulf War, something which then President George H. W. Bush thanked Israel. Israel was condemned by President Ronald Reagan after the attack as the State Department and Intelligence Agencies had assured the President that Saddam Hussein was not pursuing nuclear weapons. Israeli intelligence services disagreed with that conclusion which was more based on promises by Saddam Hussein. Israel performed a similar raid preventing Syria from developing nuclear weapons when Israel bombed the Al Kibar site on September 6, 2007 preventing them from producing nuclear weapons. This was a North Korean designed and built reactor which the United States refused to act claiming the building was not a nuclear reactor. North Korea condemned the Israeli action as ten North Korean nuclear scientists were allegedly killed, but it was not a nuclear reactor, really, it wasn’t, RIGHT! Israel also managed to remove half a ton of secret nuclear documents from central Tehran in under six and a half hours detailing the entirety of the Iranian nuclear programs including likely vital information of which many of these were the sole record thus sending the Iranian nuclear scientists scrambling to recollect and do the math for configurations and other specifics from the program. Israel would be very hard pressed to actually perform a similar strike to prevent the Iranian or North Korean nuclear programs, though STUXNET computer virus did destroy a fairly large number of the Iranian advanced centrifuges. But a military strike would be problematic, but surprises are one thing Israeli has been very adept at performing, but some things might be that one-step too far.

F16 with After Modification Rear-view Mirrors

These and the many inventions, assistances provided, emergency service in times of disaster around the world, preventing nuclear proliferation, providing intelligence to the United States and others who are incapable of accessing Middle Eastern nations and in almost countless other areas and ways, Israel is the majority of one. We described a number of areas where Israel has produced benefits which she has given to the developing world, many of the nations being members of the Group of 77 mentioned earlier. They were included in our article Were Israel Ignored by the World where we included a plethora of links. Israel could be referred to as the little nation that could, and then did. Israel realizes that she will often be that singled-out nation if for no other reason than she is the State of the Jewish People. Israel is the only nation in the world with a Jewish population that is above five-percent, and actually is majority Jewish. Israel is the only nation in our region where the people enjoy freedom of religion, freedom of speech, equality under the law, freedom to work in any profession in which you are trained, universal voting rights for her citizens, political freedom and a host of other freedoms, rights and liberties. The Palestinian Arabs are not suffering because of Israel as the ones in the Shomron are ruled by the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas who has refused to hold elections for a decade and a half, and ruled by Hamas in Gaza where they don’t need no stinkin’ elections as Hamas knows best who should be in charge. Those are the real and truthful reasons that the Palestinians have not voted in an election. They do not vote in Israeli elections for a very simple reason, they are not Israelis nor are they ruled by Israelis. Germans do not vote in the elections in the United States, Britain, Russia, China or anywhere other than Germany. If Angela Markel were to declare herself Chancellor of Germany for life, then Germans would no longer vote either. That is kind of what Mahmoud Abbas has done making himself President of the Palestinian Authority for life, Chairman of the PLO for life, Chairman of Fatah for life, President of the Popular Resistance Committees for life, Head of the Palestinian Central Council for life, President of Palestine for life and who knows how many other posts he holds for life. Palestinian Central Council recently recognized Mahmoud Abbas basically as President for life officially, so not all of these are made tongue-in-cheek, they are serious. Israel, on the other hand, is a parliamentary democracy which operates under the rule of law where all are equal under the law. Despite this, Israel is constantly called-out for presumably having a double-standard with two classes of people, Jews and often it is just Arabs and other times it is Jews and everybody else. All Israelis, Jews, Arabs, Druze, Bedouin, Muslims, Christians, Baha’I and any others all have the same rights, period. But Israel will always be singled out until the world finally realized that Israel is a blessing and is unlike other nations in so many wonderful ways, which makes her a majority of one as far as we are concerned, and hope you get a chance to visit and you will very likely reach the same conclusion.
