Miss Janis Joplin May Have Got It Right

Janis Joplin often talked about feelings and the state of the world before each song. I think it was on her Greatest Hits Album where she first stated an interesting philosophical idea that “I don’t understand how come you’re gone, man. I don’t understand why half the world is still crying, man, when the other half of the world is still crying too, man, I can’t get it together. If you got a cat for one day, man I mean, if you, say, say, if you want a cat for 365 days, right you ain’t got him for 365 days, you got him for one day, man. well I tell you that one-day man, better be your life, man. because, you know, you can say, oh man, you can cry about the other 364, man, but you’re gonna lose that one day, man, and that’s all you’ve got. You gotta call that, man. that’s what it is, man. if you got it today you don’t want it tomorrow, man, cause you don’t need it, cause as a matter of fact, as we discovered in the train, tomorrow never happens, it’s all the same f&$%#ing day, man.” (video below) Often when writing about the world events and politics you run smack-dab into this very reality because nothing really noteworthy often is the case one day to the next. You probably figured it out, today is one of those days and it really has been one of those weeks. When the biggest leftist complaint about the Trump team was that his Press Secretary Sean Spicer, talking and caught planning off to the side before a media session about the firing of FBI Director James Comey near, aside, not actually hiding in some bushes. The media event was in the Rose Garden or somewhere on the White House grounds; so there was no backstage as there is in the Media Center. There is just the great outdoors and he attempted to get a private meeting real quick before meeting that Sean Spicer has likely figured out is a largely hostile group, the media et al. Had he not caught up and gotten all the information straight before meeting the media, he would have been pounded for not being prepared, so it was a lose-lose apparently. That has been the really big story this week with claims and predictions that he is about to be fired and this big deal may be the reason, oh, and the parodies of him on SNL, those too are big. When parodies on Saturday Night Live are a major part of a news story about White House senior staff, well, it’s all the same stinking day, man.

Reality is that things have calmed for a while. There is still high tension over North Korea and their nuclear and missile programs. The huge, and we mean HUGE news this week was a report that Iran and North Korea might, yes the report said might, be working together exchanging information and test results and possibly carrying out tests for each other. That was supposed to be the big news, which means nothing new has happened. We reported in our June 2, 2015, article, “Russia Assisting United States Facilitating Nuclear Super Iranian State” in the second paragraph right above the “before” and “after” picture of the North Korean style nuclear reactor paid for by Iran being built in Syria to provide plutonium for Iran and destroyed by an Israeli strike, that the two were colluding together on nuclear and missile technology and production of both. It really is a slow week when that kind of old news is touted as the really big discovery. But, even the tension over North Korea and the United States nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, and her escort vessels being anywhere near North Korea has become a non-issue. China resisting placing more pressure on North Korea to tone it down a notch also faded from the news cycle. And even President Trump has not done anything to send volcanos exploding on Facebook since firing FBI Director Comey and changing instantly the Democrat and leftist view of Comey from the villain for announcing reopening the investigations of Hillary Clinton and her e-mails to the hero who was finally getting too close to finding the smoking gun about Trump and the Russians. Of course the leftists still chasing the Russian destroyed American democracy and gifted the election to Trump theory apparently, as we noted in yesterday’s article, have yet to hear that Senator Dianne Feinstein, as covered by the Los Angeles Times, there has been absolutely no evidence of Russian interference or influencing of the election. It has been a slow couple of days.

The news has become so plain and milquetoast that it appears that the whole world is attempting to emulate Canada, where people go to hide from the world’s troubles and have usually a restful time. When we are reporting leading with any troubles in Canada, then you know that the world is a real mess and ready to explode. Fortunately, Canada has been quiet of late. France had their runoff election and the left-leaning candidate, Emmanuel Macron, won. That means there are actually two news stories here. The first is France awoke to their nightmare scenario with Marine Le Pen as one of the two top candidates and having an actual shot at becoming the next French President. The second is that France did not have a true, blue, through and through leftist socialist all the way candidate and had to settle for a somewhat slightly left leaning candidate for President. Needless to say, in France, heads are slung low and they are acting ashamed for not electing their usual as left as you can get without being the Green Party candidate to the Presidency. The fact the French did not vote Marine Le Pen into office as President was as predictable as predicting that a ball dropped from the Leaning Tower of Pisa will fall straight to the ground assuming the dropper was intelligent enough to use the correct side. Now, had Marine Le Pen won the French election, we would have been hearing about election fraud and possibly the Russians more secretively and stealthily influencing the election getting her elected as the French would never vote for somebody that far to the right. There might have been more to the theory that such an outcome was impossible in France and we would have probably agreed, but then again, after BREXIT and Donald Trump, who is to say what is possibly and what is not. The fact we are discussing what-if’s is further proof that there is not much to cover that even resembles new news.

We could talk a little on coming events. One such will be the Sunday, September 24, 2017, German elections for Chancellor. Each party has placed their leader, or one of their leaders, into the race. There is Angela Merkel (CDU/CSU), Martin Schulz (SPD), Dietmar Bartsch with Sahra Wagenknecht (Left), Katrin Göring-Eckardt plus Cem Özdemir (Green), Christian Lindner (FDP), Alexander Gauland as well as Alice Weidel (AfD). In all reality, the race will likely come down to Angela Merkel against Martin Schulz to see which is capable of putting together a coalition. Before that we have the British elections on Thursday, June 8, 2017, for Prime Minister which comes down basically to two people, Theresa May (Conservative) and Jeremy Corbyn (Labour). Personally, I prefer the incumbent, Theresa May, over Labour Party leader and heavily anti-Israel, Jeremy Corbyn. Mr. Corbyn has also faced hate speech charges for anti-Semitic statements and slurs he has used in public, which are seen as an indication that he has difficulty with Jews as well as a number of other groups, Muslims not among them. For some reason the followers of Islam are not the enemies of Mr. Corbyn, just mainly Jews. The news we are approaching with a fair degree of trepidation, at least personally, is the upcoming visit to Israel by President Trump, along with the Vatican and Saudi Arabia later this month. A visit to the home of the Roman Catholic Church, the birthplace of the Jews faith and the birthplace of Islam can only mean that this visit will be closely watched, as will any Tweets posted by the President in the hopes of gaining insights and guessing what is on President Trump’s mind and his agenda. His time in Israel will likely get the lion’s share of the news, as the potential for breaking with traditions is always a possibility as President Trump has actually himself played his cards very close to his chest and not let out much news. Even those in his Cabinet and Inner Circle have given differing views of where the President is planning on going with each phase of his trip. At least there will be news, and that is good for us and we will have to wait to see what it will be for everyone else. Despite this being good for us, as it will generate the news cycle, we still may come out disappointed at many things both done and not done. There is still a reason to visit as while we may be upset at things President Trump may or may not do in Israel, who we would blame is likely to be more of a surprise than expected. We will have to wait and see as President Trump might do the things we most desire despite the mistakes made by all too many Israeli leaders.

Marine Le Pen and the Jews; Ours Will Be Different

We bet you have seen tons of articles with titles something like this. As the title says, ours will be different. First and Foremost, Jews are a smashing three-quarters of one percent at best and likely closer to, at best, one-half of one percent. One item which should be obvious is that the Jews are highly unlikely to decide the election unless it is death defying close. As Marine Le Pen has already made the majority of the Muslims likely to oppose her, and as they represent ten times the vote compared to the Jews, she has defined her candidacy for the mainstream French, the traditionalists and nationalists are her target constituency. The media has an interesting manner of delineating the two remaining candidates in the French elections. The easy and less biased manner might be to refer to Emmanuel Macron as the left leaning candidate and Marine Le Pen as the right leaning candidate. But, calling Macron as the Center-Left and Le Pen as Far Right is about as slanted and crying out to demand that Macron is acceptable and just like Mr. and Mrs. Normal and Le Pen is an extremist. But then the media across the entire world is so slanted to the left that they are driving on the shoulder of an eight-lane highway and teetering on the ditch beyond. We are not about to place Marine Le Pen as a centrist but then Macron is only a center anything when compared to the leftists the media originally favored and were so forlorn when they lost. We can only imagine the weeping and sobbing that went on at International New York Times, Le Monde, Libération and especially at L’Humanité and at least some glee at one paper, Le Figaro. You will notice there is a slight bulk of papers leaning to far left or even Communist and there is one sole paper which is a daily that leans, at that is merely, leans right. But that aside, we are not here to discuss the problems with media slant worldwide or even the distance each candidate is from dead center of the political spectrum, we are here to discuss Marine Le Pen and the Jews in the setting of the coming French elections.

Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron

Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron

One nice thing is that Marine Le Pen actually made it to the finals in the elections as for far too many years the choice for the French in their elections was between a “Center-Left” or pure Left candidate against a “Far-Left” or actual Communist candidate. There were not even single centrists in French elections, so this is a nice change. For the Jews, they were more than satisfied when the choices were what degree of left one desired in their President. Things have changed in France in the more recent past for the French Jews. Have they noticed these changes? Well, there will be an easy scale by which to measure. Those who have noticed will be voting for Marine Le Pen, those who already knew, a small, very small, segment of the Jews, will also vote for Le Pen. The remainder will vote as the Jews normally vote, for the furthest left candidate possible, which in this case is Emmanuel Macron. There are likely numerous Jews who are in some state of mourning over the loss by Socialist Party nominee Benoit Hamon leaving them with no true candidate to actually support, but they will still gladly rush out to vote against Le Pen. This is voting against their best interests, but Jews have been voting against their best interests for years across Europe as well as the United States. They will likely vote in numbers against their best interests in the upcoming French finals. The French Jews who truly understand what is coming in France and then across Europe have already voted with their feet. They have departed France and other places in Europe for the United States, and the smarter one for Israel.

Marine Le Pen would be the safest bet for the future of France and thus, if Jews are planning to remain in France, then Le Pen would be the best candidate. Across Europe the only candidates who show any plans for saving Europe from itself and the immigration waves from washing over the continent finally bringing on the Islamist dream of finally conquering Christianity and destroying Christian Europe are the nationalist right. Continuing to elect left wing candidates and hoping that things will change and all of a sudden a new left path to assimilating the coming millions of Muslims which they will continue to allow to stream into Europe from North Africa, Middle East and Turkey despite their past inability to show even a modicum of a plan, that would be plain insanity. Unfortunately, the one thing I can tell you with certainty from my years at services in the United States surrounded by leftist Jews, following the same people who promise the sun and the moon delivering only heartache election after election is something leftist are capable of believing is the best path to change and actually do repeat their mistake election after election. The Jews are probably right now discussing what horrors would befall them should Marine Le Pen win and they could not be further from the truth. Marine is the only hope the Jews, the remaining Christians and even the Secular Humanists have for bringing the inflow of Muslims to an end as she is the only candidate defining France as being French in its history and future instead of defining France as the leader of the new Europe and the fountain for change and the new Europe. There is no new Europe and there can only be an old Europe, or any Europe, if the flow of Asians, of Muslims from the entirety of the Muslim world is brought to a close, over, kaput, finis. Even if Marine were to win, a long shot kind of like Trump, only higher odds against her, that alone would not save Europe as only Europeans can make Europe great again.

The electing of Marine would be the first step and would show that the people of France, at least a good number of them, are ready to make a change of direction. Such a result would be the first step to taking on the real problems in France and all of Europe and even those same problems which are plaguing the United States. There is the need for an existential change to be undertaken by the people, the citizens of Europe. In this endeavor, the Jews of France and all Europe could take the lead and assist in showing the way forward. Of course, the Jews of France, of Europe, will need to first place themselves on the correct track. This would be easier for them than for the Secular Humanists, but they would first require the correct leadership which they might find closer than they think. The leadership they require is at their synagogue day and night, when there is a crowd on the High Holidays and when the Synagogue is locked up tight at night and nobody is there. Their best leadership is Torah as it teaches all they would need to know to assist helping Europe to heal itself and begin to return to a more healthy Europe. But without a Le Pen victory in the election, there might not be any Europe left to save, at least not any Europe which we might recognize from any Europe from her past. The reality is that Europe actually requires regaining a piece from her past in order to save her future. The past which the Europeans need to regain is having a future to live for. By a future, we do not mean tomorrow or next week or even next month or year, we mean next generation and generation after and make a point that every generation knows that it is the next generation and the generations beyond who are important, not the pleasures of today. There is no pleasure which can be had at the pleasure palaces of Europe which can equal a first step, a first word, their first school pageant, the first time they hold their infant sibling and the multitude of wondrous firsts and how each child shows the parent new things every day at every first. Each child brings new and varied surprises and grants their parents joys mixed with challenges which together make life more real and full of love beyond anything found in the cafes and clubs of Paris. Even more, children are what any European future requires and it currently is not being provided with sufficient children to last another two generations. Europe is dying from having a hedonistic population which is too busy chasing their own pleasure and being too unconcerned with the reality of where their running from one pleasure palace to the next is leading because their eyes are blurred with the moment clouding their vision from seeing the future they are denying themselves and the future of their country which they are wasting.

Marine Le Pen cannot save France from the lack of children; she can only give France the opportunity to try to save itself. France must first waken to the problem which they have developed through their living in the present and solely in the present without ever giving their future any consideration. By ignoring their future and even sacrificing their future so they could reside in the pleasures of the now, they have poisoned their society and mortally wounded a continent. Politicians such as Marine Le Pen understand the initial bleeding which must be checked before any more damage is done and then the root of the problem can be addressed. This is not solely a French problem but the solution can start as a French solution. The French were the first to prevent a Muslim takeover of the European Continent when Charles the Hammer Martel defeated the Moorish forces coming out of Spain at the Battle of Tours. France can once again take the lead and save Europe by leading the wave of European recovery. First Europe must recover her center and remember that religion is not about stifling life but about centering life and building futures through family. Futures depend on families and without healthy families with children there will be no future for Europe as her proud history has painted her. It is not too late to save Europe, but it will take an awakening within the Europeans themselves and nothing less will allow Europe to be renewed. Marine Le Pen can be the first step in that renewal but it will take more than an election, it will take an awakening.

Does Jobbik Party Electoral Success in Hungary Taint Europe?

If there would be an extreme and overt reaction to the election results in Hungary which gave the Xenophobic and Anti-Semitic Jobbik Party a three percent increase in the vote making them the third most popular party behind Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s Fidesz Party and the fractious opposition center-left alliance led by Attila Mesterhazy, it would come from the European Jewish Congress (EJC). The EJC claimed on Monday the success of the anti-Semitic Jobbik party in Hungary was “a source of grave concern for Europe.” Additionally, EJC President Moshe Kantor was quoted in the European Jewish Press saying, “The gains made by Jobbik, an unashamedly neo-Nazi political party, should serve as a wake-up call for the whole of Europe. Once again in Europe we are witnessing democracy being appropriated by those are the enemies of democracy. This is truly a dark day for Hungary. It is the duty of both European leaders and voters to ensure that a strong message is delivered by supporters of democracy throughout Europe to show these racists and xenophobes that hate has no place on our continent.”

Of course the Jobbik Party did attempt to distance themselves from their former anti-Semitic and anti-Roma past reputation by presenting themselves as a more center of the road but “radical nationalist” movement focused on law and order and attacking corruption. Like many extreme fringe groups, the Jobbik rebranding of themselves to offer a more acceptable and affirming front in place of their former negative and hateful rhetoric required the relative silence of some of the more rabid old guard, something they were apparently quite successful. One such candidate is Istvan Meszaros, a candidate from Baja on the Serbian border, who is the leader of the New Hungarian Guard, a controversial vigilante group that has held torchlight marches in Roma neighborhoods, much like its predecessor, the Hungarian Guard, which was banned in 2009. Meszaros was quoted by AFP at his Baja campaign offices claiming, “Jobbik offers action, not just talk. Crime falls in those areas after(wards).” This was a reference to the measureable results of such marches. Of course, it is needless to point out that retaining candidates like Meszaros in “safe” locals fortifies the extremists from the old and less savvy Jobbik Party.

The question is what does their improved election results mean about the rise of xenophobia and racism across Europe? Similar results have been noted in Greece in recent elections with their Golden Dawn Party, reputed to be even more extreme group of nationalists than the Jobbik Party. There were also the gains made in France by Marine Le Pen’s Front National Party in recent local elections. In the eleven towns and districts which are now controlled by the Front National Party there has been debate on a sensitive issue about the substitution meals targeting mainly Muslim and Jewish students. Marine Le Pen told RTL radio, “We will accept no religious requirements in the school lunch menus.” She defended the decision saying it was necessary to “save secularism”. I have some problems that in some manner I can understand and even agree with Miss Le Pen’s as she has obviously discovered that Secularism is, if its practitioners were to be honest, a form of religion replete with commandments, deities, and a formative cannon. The religion of Secularism is, in many ways, one of the least tolerant religions and, as is often the case with any religion in its youth, and is determined to replace and subvert every other religion and place itself as the preeminent religion over all within any society where it gains a foothold. This is another reason for the advancement in election of the uber-nationalist as they are the purveyors on the front lines of exclusive secularism.

The rumors that religion has died in Europe are actually a false narrative used by the Secularists who claim that secularism is a political viewpoint and not a religion. They claim that it is anti-religion and purely logical and science based is one of the basic religious cannons of the secularists who make such claims to imply that secularism is steeped in unarguable facts and thus not faith based. Their argument is along the same line as the ecology anthropogenic global warming advocates who also claim that the debate is over and their definitions are the only acceptable and truthful views making everything else a form of apostasy. There is a fair amount of overlap between the secularists and the nationalist parties, especially when it comes to their exclusive and narrow acceptance of only those of similar beliefs and backgrounds and rejection of traditional religious minorities. Both groups also tend to be socialistic in their political persuasions. Their emotional attachment resembles religious fanatical observance to a rigid structure and defined cannon which rules out any debate or variance. Such a limited and rigid structure often leads to fanaticism and a developing hatred for those who are perceived as the other, those opposed to their political beliefs. For the secularists that includes the religious while the nationalists it includes all foreign groups and those religions other than the traditional religion or possibly a religion formed by the nationalists themselves which could easily be considered a secular belief. These groups, as they include greater numbers, can lead to oppressive societies which are often capable of victimizing minorities and whomever they label as the evil other, and the outsider is always evil simply because they are different and not in agreement with the rigid belief structure adhered to be such groups. The danger comes when they gain legitimate power through elections or other methods and can eclipse reason and acceptance of those who are labeled as unacceptable minorities who threaten to subvert the order and accepted mandates of the society. This will eventually lead to oppressive policies and animosity beyond normal acceptance under what is considered common custom. Europe has been down this road before in many different scenarios which always resulted in tragedies and abhorrent hate-filled persecutions. Hopefully the economic and social difficulties which are the driving impetus behind the rise of such fanatics will subside and the stresses relieved before Europe once again drives itself into another fanatical and hateful obsession.
