Why the Middle East Peace Process Will Continue

 

The Israeli-Arab Peace Process, aka Middle East peace, aka Palestinian Peace Process and likely a plethora of other monikers are all equally misleading and just an arrogant lie. There never has been an actual peace process. The Oslo Accords of 1993 were simply a reason to bring back Yasser Arafat and his terror henchmen to eradicate the Jewish State. Oslo was initiated by a group of Israeli leftists, the Netherlands operating as the European enabler used by the State Department, and State Department officials working to destroy Israel for their Arab oil masters. The description just given is not intended to claim that everybody involved in the Peace Process do so with ulterior motives other than establishing peace. The actual expected goals of the peace process is to cut Israel down by taking a piece this decade, a peace that decade and piece after piece until Israel is unable to defend herself and is eradicated in an orgasmic genocidal assault by Arab terror forces and armies who will simply finish their intended purpose in fighting the Zionist Entity best described so succinctly by Azzam Pasha, Secretary-General of the Arab League who stated, before six Arab armies invaded the nascent state of Israel in May of 1948, “It will be a war of annihilation. It will be a momentous massacre in history that will be talked about like the massacres of the Mongols or the Crusades.” This idea was known to be the state of things as they prepared to leave their Mandate allowing those residing within to fend for themselves. Jordan was already established as Transjordan, and the Arabs had six national armies and several militias and terrorist forces ready for the expected annihilation of the Jews and their state. The British went so far as to confiscate every firearm and weapon the Jews had managed to stockpile and transfer them to the Arab militias arming more Arabs and disarming Jews. This attitude by most of Europe has never changed and they are still on the sidelines cheering for the end of Israel.

 

The latest example of the animus targeting Israel comes from a United Nations forum headed by Norway consisting of the fifty-four-nation United Nations Economic and Social Council which considered a resolution that says, “the Israeli occupation remains a major obstacle for Palestinian women and girls with regard to the fulfillment of their rights.” Norway, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg and Malta joined with China, Russia, Iran and Venezuela and 29 other nations in supporting this targeted resolution. There was also another resolution that was passed mentioning “social repercussions of the Israeli occupation” more generally. Israel was the only country named as a violator or trouble spot by the Council during the session, according to the UN Watch organization. Only Canada and the United States voted against the resolution while the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Romania and Ukraine were among the nine nations that abstained from the vote. This is one of a myriad of examples of the world stirring the pot blaming Israel for every ill and difficulty faced by the surrounding Arab World, specifically the Arab Palestinians.

 

This farce known as the Peace Process has been continued despite all evidence that it is useless as the Arab Palestinian leadership, be it the PLO, Palestinian Authority (PA), Hamas, Islamic Jihad and even Hezballah, all consistently exclaim their intentions to destroy Israel and even kill every Jew on planet Earth and that they have absolutely no interest in peace other than the peace of the grave for the Jews and their state. The PA has refused every attempt at peace even to include the occasion where President William Jefferson Clinton received from Yasser Arafat his minimal demands which he would accept to make peace. President Clinton then met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak twisting his arm and bending his ears until he agreed to meet the entirety of Arafat’s demands. All were gathered the next morning in Paris, France, as Prime Minister Ehud Barak and advisors, President Clinton, Secretary of State Madeline Albright and advisors along with a herd of media were waiting for the signing of this monumental agreement hammered out by President Clinton specifically to meet Yasser Arafat’s every demand. Yasser Arafat appeared coming down the steps, walking straight across the rotunda, out the entry foyer and into his waiting car which sped him to the airport where he flew to Aman, Jordan and subsequently initiated the Second Intifada in place of peace. This was likely the closest any United States President ever came to actually reaching a peace between Israel and the Arab Palestinians as President Clinton had gone to sleep content in the fact that he had done all that was necessary to reach peace. Under President George W. Bush, another Ehud, this time Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, agreed to what has been termed the most favorable peace offer ever made to the Arab Palestinians and it was rejected outright. Also, during the terms of President George W. Bush, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon agreed to remove every last vestige of Jewish and Israeli presence throughout Gaza providing the PA with an opportunity to show the world their great ability to run an actual governance and economy. Within a few years, Gaza was surrendered by the PA to Hamas in a bloodied coup and is today controlled and ruled by Hamas with Islamic Jihad with both terrorist groups coming under Iranian influence, Iranian control. The result of this sacrifice by Israel, like every other concession Israel has made for peace, fell on deaf ears only to be met by further terror, death, injuries and violence.

 

There have been two glaring truths which the United Nations, European Union, Non-Aligned Movement (group of over one-hundred developing nations often voting in unison with the Arab world), the Arab and Muslim worlds, Pseudo-Human Rights groups, United Nations agencies and the multitude of anti-Israel, anti-Zionist, anti-Semitic NGO’s have all gleefully ignored, that Israel has made all the concessions seeking a real peace while the Arabs have continued to demand that the Jewish State be dissolved and the Jews placed under Arab rule to do with them as demanded in the Quran. For those not that familiar with the Quran, we offer our article as an introduction, Which Quran, Mecca or Medina? and provide the truth, the Quran allows Islamic rulers to provide the Jews with protection in exchange for their paying the Jizya, and when this proves inadequate to tolerate the insult of Jews living within the Islamic World, the Jews are given their final choice, convert or die. The eventual result of destroying Israel and allowing for Arab Islamic rule to take over the lands, is the extinction of the Jews who were unable or simple refusing to leave Israel despite any hardships. The eventual intent of the Arab Palestinian leadership is the genocidal removal of the Jews from what they consider to be their world.

 

 

The Arab Palestinian leadership has reached the pinnacle of obstinance with the coming “Deal of the Century” which is being proposed by President Donald Trump. Mahmoud Abbas (Yasser Arafat in a suit) denounced any and all preferrings originating from the United States as long as President Trump holds the White House. Yes, there is definitely a “hate-hate” relationship between Mahmoud Abbas and President Trump. Mahmoud Abbas is able to denounce any and all peace offerings simply depending on the support of the anti-Trump Democrats in the United States and the anti-Trump Europeans to continue to support Abbas and protect him from any harm which could result from the efforts by President Trump. These anti-Trump forces have all the agencies of the United Nations, the Human Right Commission, the United Nations General Assembly, the BDS Movement, numerous anti-Israel NGO’s, the European Union, and, of course, the Arab and Islamic Worlds to utilize in their efforts to support and continue the terror assault on Israel and her citizens. So, this all begs the question, what are the actual intents of more of the world than even we feel comfortable in recognizing. Well, the initial answer is that much of the world as well as including specifically Mahmoud Abbas, the PA, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezballah, Iran and most of the Islamic World have absolutely no desire for peace with Israel but rather peace of the grave for all Israel.

 

The real problem facing Israel disguised as the Peace Process is the desire of the majority of the world’s leadership and power brokers to erase what they regard as their greatest mistake, the granting for the Jews self-rule in their ancient homelands. One can see how Britain along with France and numerous others starting almost immediately after the San Remo Conference in taking lands from the British Mandate intended for the Jewish State and gifting them to Arabs. The first such move was the taking of the Golan Heights and Britain giving them to France to incorporate into the Arab nation of Syria and denying them to Israel. The next move was to take seventy-eight-percent of the remaining British Mandate lands and making them into Transjordan (now Jordan) placing it under the rule of the Hashemite Arab Muslims. From this point, things begin to become absolutely absurd and are only believable by studying history of the region since the 1850’s when the initial Zionists started to arrive followed soon thereafter by waves of Arabs seeking employment or by stealing lands (farms) from the Jews who had built irrigation and drained the swamps. Those seeking employment or willing to cooperate with the early Zionists were welcomed. The others, under the influences of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Amin al-Husseini, gathered starting in the 1920’s rioting destroying Jewish businesses, homes and murdering Jews while the British largely stood aside observing only firing a weapon when the Arab gangs threatened the British troops, and one shot fired into the air or ground was all the British were required to shoot to end the violence. The violence was rarely, if ever, terminated by firing a single shot as long as the Jews were the sole targets. But what about the modern era, what has developed?

 

President Trump has held his economic introduction announcing the extent of monetary assistance he is willing to provide in order to improve the lives of Arab Palestinians. Obviously, President Trump must be unaware that the Arab Palestinians receive an inordinately huge percentage of economic aid provided all needful people as displayed by the graph below. As evidenced, the Arab Palestinians have received between three to ten times the economic aid provided other needy peoples. All this infusion of monetary aid has never come close to doing anything beyond providing the funds to continue the terror war against Israel. But President Trump and the presumed others who are promising this economic infusion into the PA and Gaza will not need be delivered as the PA, PLO, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and much of the Arab world have refused the aid claiming that they cannot be bribed into accepting the Jewish State. Most of the economic aid will find its way to these terrorist groups anyways. Even if this promised money is not given under President Trump, it will be granted over time by the United Nations, UNRWA, the European Union, numerous European nations, NGOs around the world and other state and non-state actors will be sure to provide funding beyond their wildest requirements. This was evidenced when President Trump cut United States funding of UNRWA as they refused to modify their curriculum from initiating terrorism and violence against Israel and Jews to a curriculum more conducive for promoting peace and President Trump also cut the funding to the PA removing an amount equivalent to their investment in the “pay to slay” funding of terrorism and the Europeans and United Nations immediately stepped forward and filled the gap in funding as the terrorism must continue. President Trump has asked the “question which must not be asked” when he postulated that Mahmoud Abbas, Hamas and most of the Arab Palestinian leadership do not desire to make peace and instead intend to continue their terror war against Israel and the Jewish People with any and all funds received. Now that the “question which must not be asked” has been hatched and all have had to realize the truth, that the Arab Palestinian leaders will never accept peace unless it destroys the Jewish State placing the Jews, considered to be inferiors to their Islamic masters, allowing the Arabs to hold their rightful place as rulers over all of the lands. Thus, their chant across the Western college and university protests of, “From the (Jordan) River to the (Mediterranean) Sea, Palestine must be free.” Many Western leaders agree with the sentiment of those words and are agreeable to working towards such an end.

This explains why no peace has ever been attained. Contrary to the pro-Arab and anti-Semitic world’s claims that Israel has never made any moves or sacrifices for peace, the evidence is vastly different. Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt for peace. Israel left Gaza for peace and received rockets, incendiary balloons and kites and continual rioting along the Gaza border. Israel provided in the Oslo Accords to divided the region granting the Arab Palestinians civil control over Areas A and B while Israel was granted control over Area C. Currently, the European Union has been building unauthorized illegal structures throughout Area C and labeling them as Arab Palestinian communities in an attempt to cut all of the Jewish communities off from the rest of Israel leaving them to wither on the vine. The United Nations joins the European Union in condemning Israel should Israel destroy these illegal structures. They insist that these are viable and Arab communities with all the rights of a recognized community, despite the fact most of these communities are not used as residence for anyone and only some come into use for guided tours of the deprivations the Arabs live under because Israel refuses to give them water, sewage systems, electricity, gas, proper roads and other utilities for these illegally built communities. They pay Arab Palestinians to sit around these structures providing a show for people, usually media and political visitors, who are brought through to witness the play which unfolds as the propaganda for blaming Israel as if she was actually depriving the Arab Palestinians a decent life. All of this trouble simply to provide cover for the terror war designed to eventually destroy the Jewish State. But this farce continues to function like a well-oiled machine backed by the UN, EU, Arab and Islamic Worlds, the world’s dictatorships and other anti-Semitic forces. The Arab Palestinian terror masters do not have to do anything but continue to murder Jews and destroy every and anything Israeli and they will have sufficient support from most of the world, eventually including the United States despite what many believe, and the cash will continue to roll in.

 

Now there has come one last item which, if it does not trigger a reaction, will finally reveal the fraud that is the Arab Palestinian cause. It has come to our attention that the PA has forbidden Arabs to voluntarily leave the PA controlled areas. At political symposium in Jericho, Saab Erekat stated, “…we will not allow resettlement or formation of refugee committees for that aim, while holding on to the settlement of their cause in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.” The PA is demanding that UN Resolution 194 which states, “refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of international law or equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible.” Israel opened their doors in the first decade of Israeli existence for those Arabs who had fled at the behest of the Mufti to return. The Arab League leadership refused to permit these Arabs from returning placing them into refugee camps where they and their prodigy have remained in limbo ever since. This demand is a smoke screen which is glaringly obvious as they are refusing to permit Arabs from leaving their locations, be that in Gaza, Areas A and B, and the remaining refugee camps, thus how can UN Resolution 194 be carried out if Arabs are forbidden from moving, period. Their demand, which will become a rally cry screeched over any statement describing the true reality, will be possibly, “UN Resolution 194, show the Jews the exit door.” Then, with boosts from their enablers, they will claim that Israel is refusing to allow Arab Palestinians from returning to their homes, which mostly have not existed since the early 1960’s, and the world will ignore Erekat’s declaration that no Arab will be permitted to leave the PA ruled areas and Hamas has the same restriction in Gaza. So, as usual, the Arabs are causing the perpetuation of the terror war and victimization of their own population and then are echoed by their enablers when singing their old tune that the Jews are restricting Arab freedom of movement. Lastly, this new restriction was put in place just in case the “Deal of the Century” which President Donald Trump is revealing might include resettlement of the Arab Palestinians, often returning them to the country from which they had left to move to the areas becoming the Jewish State of the years and rejoining their families and tribes which mostly remained behind. So, Arab Palestinian leadership restricts the movement of their citizens which the world blames Israel for this restriction because the Arab leadership will claim they were forced to take these steps because Israel must be blamed because the world knows how those Jews can be. Well, if given truth serum, then maybe many in the world would speak the truth, otherwise they just blame Israel, the nation of the Jews.

Reason for Israeli Peace Deficit is Real

 

The Israeli peace deficit cannot be laid at the door of Israel and must never be blamed upon Israel. Every Israeli government desires peace with their only real difference is how much land they are willing to give away and how many Jewish citizens of whom they are willing to destroy their lives. The Gaza disengagement in 2005, overseen by American President George W. Bush, originally suggested by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, probably defined out by State Department lifers who appear to despise Israel and willing to work to her detriment at the drop of a hat, turned out to be the greatest mistake other than Oslo. The plan was also swallowed by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon who had signaled his willingness as far back as 2003 when the idea was first proposed. Ariel Sharon still had to found his own new party which included politicians from across the political spectrum all apparently desiring to have their names attached to this presumed historic and potential Nobel Peace Prize for those in leadership positions. This new party held onto a coalition by adding new leftward leaning parties and full left parties while dropping the most right wing parties including his old party of Likud. This new coalition was marginally, if at all, legal. The idea was to provide the Palestinian Authority (PA) complete unfettered control over the complete Gaza Strip to allow for them to show the world their ability to rule and provide for their people as normative governance. Gaza became a source of terrorist violence which only took a horrific turn for the worst after Hamas conducted a violent coup in 2007 having since started three wars with Israel and delivery only misery for the average Gazan while providing the high life and great wealth for the terror masters and criminal families. Hamas has spent most of the time launching rockets, artillery and mortars into Israel targeting mostly civilians while also tunneling beneath the border in order to launch terror attacks and kidnappings. The Gaza debacle is the greatest example of how far Israel has been willing to go for peace as well as the offers made for a comprehensive peace in 2000 by Prime Minister Ehud Barak and 2008 by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

So, with Israel apparently so willing to try to make peace, what are we referring to as an Israeli Peace Deficit? The deficit actually is that Israel honestly desires peace, as most democratic nations desire, but their terrorist, dictatorial “peace partner” PA only desire Israel totally destroyed and her population of Jews and Christians (and possibly the Arabs as well, as many are seen as apostates for living as Israeli citizens with full rights) murdered. The PA is the rebranding of the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization, a universally recognized terrorist group) such that they could be passed off as working for peace. The problem is that the PLO was not the only terrorist group to gain some semblance of authenticity as there are also members from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine), terrorist organizations all, also have people within the areas controlled under the PA banner. Mahmoud Abbas was elected as President of the PA for a five year term in 2005 and is still in office without ever bothering to hold any scheduled elections. Abbas is also the leader of Fatah, the political party designed to rule the PA; chairman of the ruling committee, and the chairman of the PLO which was never decommissioned despite promises. Please allow us an aside to list a few of the firsts which can be traced to the PLO. They originated airline hijackings, suicide bombings, splintered into various new terror groups for spreading the blame, as well as first to attempt to overthrow two nations through civil wars in places where they never initially had any intent (Jordan and Lebanon), seek United Nations recognition, have the stated goal to destroy a nation instead of founding one and the first terror organization to invent a fake people out of whole cloth. The PLO has sewn violence in every place they ever touched and were the force whose starting of a civil war in Lebanon made the situation where Hezballah was then founded. They assassinated Cleo A. Noel, Jr., US Ambassador to Sudan, George Curtis Moore, US Deputy Chief of Mission to Sudan, Guy Eid, Belgian Chargé d’affaires to Sudan, Adli al Nasser, Jordanian Chargé d’affaires to Sudan, Sheikh Abdullah al Malhouk, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sudan as well as wife and four children when their Black September terror military attacked a party intending to target the American Ambassador during an official soiree at the Saudi embassy in Khartoum on March 1, 1973. They also used the same Black September groups under the supervision and financial arrangements of Mahmoud Abbas to attack the Munich Olympics and murdered the Israeli Olympic Team. Do we need to say anything more? We did not think so.

 

Now for the reality and everything which is the problem. Israel and the PA have opposite reasons to hold peace negotiations. Israel seeks peace while the only things the PA negotiators are seeking are concessions. This is why they always demand that Israel make concessions just to start holding peace negotiations. They then demand additional concessions from Israel often just to continue negotiations every week to ten days. They continue demanding concessions while refusing to offer a single concession or promise. They will then cut off the negotiations blaming the Israelis immediately when Israel finally refuses to offer additional concessions just for the displeasure of negotiating with people who seethe hatred. The PA will then pocket the concessions as if they were not dependent upon any actual agreement or peace. Then when another round of negotiations are being initiated the PA insists that Israel not only provide additional concessions, they are forced to recognize the previous set of negotiations as the starting position for the new negotiations. The PA is never seeking peace in any form; they are only interested in gaining concessions from Israel as part of destroying Israel in small steps and big steps. The small steps are the concessions while the big steps would be through reaching a peace agreement, then waiting for a period, a short period, and then resuming terrorist attacks and demanding Israel make concessions to end the new round of terrorism. When finally another peace is attained, Israel will have made concessions and her borders shrunk and this order of events would be continued until Israel is forced to such a small space that she is set for destruction.

 

Obviously, these two approaches to peace are complete and absolute opposites. They are the opposites as described by theorists of governments and their outlooks to events and especially concerning negotiations. First we need to establish the classifications of our two forms of governance. Israel is pluralistic, consensual democratic governance while the PA is fundamentalist, dictatorial and belligerent governance. Israel is willing to make exchanges and use compromise in order to attain peace. The PA refuses to make exchanges and seeks concessions and to take advantage of negotiations intending to weaken and eventually destroy Israel without ever an honest intention of peace. The PA has one intention when it comes to anything which be might referred to as peace negotiations, they use such events for solely one purpose, military advantages and military objectives through maliciously infused negotiations. The PA uses the word peace as a weapon with which to attain military objectives and advantages. Israel, on the other hand, when forced to use their military will use any advantage gained in order to attain peace. This was how Israel reached peaceful relations, though cold peaceful relations, with Egypt and Jordan. They defeated both in the Six Day War and made offers to return the gained land for peace and while Egypt accepted the Sinai Peninsula, they refused to take the return of their occupied Gaza and Jordan refused to retake possession of their occupied areas of Judea and Samaria and also revoked the Jordanian citizenship of every Arab residing in these lands including quite a number of former Jordanians who were forced to relocate into these areas.

 

The actions by both nations had the intention of causing difficulties for Israel. These rejections are what have led to the current situation which could label the acts of refusing their formerly occupied territories which legally belonged to Israel, placed belligerent Arab populations within the Israeli borders and has led to the deceptive negotiating performed by the PA in their deceptions using negotiations for military gains. The world has full knowledge of the PA deception but also revealed their true anti-Israel, anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist proclivities which greatly aids the PA on the world stage with their actions, speeches and agreements reached at the initial 2001 Durban Conference in South Africa under the false heading, World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. This was pretty much repeated at the ensuing Durban Conferences regardless of location. They all became immediate Israel hate fests leading to the United States and a few other nations joining Israel in refusing to attend these hateful events. These conferences have been echoed by votes concerning Israel, even the United States at times, in the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Back on the North Korea Merry-Go-Round

 

Once again, we hear out of Pyongyang the idea of giving up its nuclear weapons in return for U.S. security guarantees of nonaggression and which will also soon add the demand for food, energy and monetary aid. Speaking with reporters about these developments, President Donald Trump was quoted by AFP as having stated, “I believe they are sincere.” President Trump further stated, at a joint news conference with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven, “I hope they’re sincere,” soon adding an ominous, “We’ll soon find out.” Further commentary from President Trump claimed, “I think they’re sincere also because of the sanctions and what we’re doing with respect to North Korea.” President Trump added, “(China) can do more but I think they’ve done more than they’ve ever done for our country before.”

 

Vice President Mike Pence in Washington added to the President’s message stating, “Whichever direction talks with North Korea go, we will be firm in our resolve. The United States and our allies remain committed to applying maximum pressure on the Kim regime to end their nuclear program. All options are on the table and our posture toward the regime will not change until we see credible, verifiable, and concrete steps toward denuclearization.” Yes, he actually demanded that Washington needs to see North Korea take concrete steps toward denuclearization.

 

The story appears to have gone something like this, starting from the beginning. President Trump took office and North Korea celebrated with additional missile and nuclear tests on an increased rate. President Trump and many Western Leaders became incensed protesting with great words of accusation and threats of embargoes. There were even threats of annihilation from invasions, conquering of South Korea by the North Koreans, North Korea threats to nuke Guam, President Trump threatened to destroy North Korea in return of their attacking anyone and most of all there was the hope that China would exercise some restraint on their “pet attack dog” Kim Jong-un.

 

This series of events lead us to fall into some kind of hazy trance, it was as if we were living something over once again which had been promised to have been settled and done before. When we emerged from the haze, still with thoughts swirling and slowly crystalizing we realized we were no longer in this century, we had magically been sent to the ending decade of the Twentieth Century. We were not in the scene but observing from above looking through some clear, glass aperture. We were at a newsstand with all the major newspapers of the day and an old man watching the news on an old television. They were talking of the crisis on the Korean Peninsula. The date was October 18, 1994, and the headlines pretty much say it all. The New York Times headlined with, “U.S. and North Korea Agree To Build on Nuclear Accord.” Reading further, with haste, as we cannot be sure how long we will remain here, the article stated the following,

 

The Clinton Administration announced tonight that United States and North Korean negotiators in Geneva had reached a broad agreement that would freeze North Korea’s nuclear weapons program and allow the resumption of international inspections.

Administration officials said the agreement included some concessions by Washington, including arranging for American allies to build in North Korea two modern nuclear power plants valued at several billion dollars. The Administration also agreed to a delay in the inspection of two nuclear waste sites that were expected to reveal evidence of North Korea’s production of weapon-grades material.

Administration officials hailed the agreement — worked out over three weeks of tense negotiations — as a breakthrough. But after an 18-month dispute marked by stinging rhetoric, broken promises and failed negotiations, Administration officials remained wary that there could still be problems carrying out the accord.

Administration officials said North Korea committed itself to phasing out its five-megawatt nuclear reactor, freezing construction of two larger reactors and rejoining the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.
“Personally, I think it is a very good agreement,” Robert L. Gallucci, the chief United States negotiator in Geneva, said tonight after closing the round of talks that seemed close to collapsing on several occasions. “Broadly, it is an acceptable, and very positive agreement.”

With North Korea isolated and distrustful of the West, Administration officials said they agreed to delay inspections of the waste sites in part to allow for time to build trust with North Korea. The expectation, they said, is that in a few months or perhaps years Pyongyang would allow the inspections of the nuclear waste sites.
Administration officials insisted that they would not back off their insistence on such inspections and that North Korea would never receive technology from the promised new light-water reactors until inspections of the waste sites are carried out.

In another concession, the Clinton Administration backed down on its demand that North Korea quickly send to another country the 8,000 spent fuel rods, from which enough plutonium could have already been obtained to construct four or five bombs.

Under the agreement, those rods will remain in a cooling pond in the North for a considerable time, perhaps more than a year. But Administration officials insisted that those rods will ultimately be shipped to a third country for reprocessing.

Mr. Gallucci said the agreement reached today would now be sent to Washington and Pyongyang for final approval. He said the agreement served the interests of the United States, South Korea and Japan, all of which are concerned about North Korea’s ambitions to become a nuclear power.

He said he planned to fly to Washington on Tuesday to consult with senior Administration officials and leading members of Congress. If the agreement is endorsed, he said he would sign it on Friday in Geneva with North Korea’s chief negotiator, Kang Sok Ju.

 

The haze slowly encompasses our entire group and off we float again feeling all weird and strange. After a brief period, well, we think it was brief but cannot really be sure, as we may have dreamt for some period, we cannot be sure. The haze is parting and, and, and we are looking at the same newsstand and all looks pretty much the same. Wait, the man is somewhat older and has a white and grey streaked beard. We can see a paper, well, we see the date first, just as before, and it is January 29, 2002. The headline starts to come into focus as does the name of the newspaper, the Washington Post with the headline reading, “Text of President Bush’s 2002 State of the Union Address.” Part of the article appears highlighted and is becoming clear enough to read, and some words are bolded, strange, but helpful. The passage reads,

 

Our second goal is to prevent regimes that sponsor terror from threatening America or our friends and allies with weapons of mass destruction.

Some of these regimes have been pretty quiet since September 11, but we know their true nature. North Korea is a regime arming with missiles and weapons of mass destruction, while starving its citizens.

Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror; while an unelected, few repress the Iranian people’s hope for freedom.

Iraq continues to flaunt its hostility toward America and to support terror. The Iraqi regime has plotted to develop anthrax and nerve gas and nuclear weapons for over a decade.

This is a regime that has already used poison gas to murder thousands of its own citizens, leaving the bodies of mothers huddled over their dead children. This is a regime that agreed to international inspections then kicked out the inspectors. This is a regime that has something to hide from the civilized world.

States like these, and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic.

 

Here comes that haze again and really feeling sleepier this time. As we are pulling back there came another headline from the Guardian stating, “North Korea withdraws from nuclear treaty.” Well, too late to read more, it has faded. One can only wonder whether we will arrive back in our own time or are there to be more stops on this strange trip into the past. Waking as the haze thins and we could be back, we are looking at a CNN web page and it is, wait, it is from March 1, 2012 and the headline reads, “North Korea agrees to halt nuclear activities for food.” There is a picture and three or four paragraphs visible. Here is the picture as we were gifted a copy which came along with us by some miracle and below that the story we were permitted to see. Again, there was one part bolded allowing us to fix this as during the time with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama and the unprecedented amount of aid being provided to North Korea.

 

The Picture of Kim Jong-un and Some Generals

 

North Korea has agreed to halt nuclear tests, long-range missile launches and enrichment activities at its Yongbyon nuclear complex in exchange for food aid from the United States, the State Department said Wednesday.
The state-run North Korean news agency, KCNA, announced the agreement separately.

“Today’s announcement represents a modest first step in the right direction. We, of course, will be watching closely and judging North Korea’s new leaders by their actions,” U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday before the House Appropriations Committee.

In return for the moratorium on nuclear activities at this key site, the United States has agreed to a package of 240,000 metric tons of nutritional assistance to North Korea.

 

The haze returns and this time we are sure we are nodding off. The time seemed to pass faster, though that may be due to our not being fully conscious. The haze lifts and we are back at our computers feeling a little groggy and disoriented, as expected, we guess. We have no idea how long we were gone, though we can tell you there is a different show on the television, which is impressive as the new Smurf movie had just started as we left. We were quoting President Trump and Vice President Pence and how they believe that North Korea will be earnest and will negotiate in good faith. Perhaps they need to go on our little time travel revelation that every President before them going back at least three Presidents as our trip was not all inclusive. If nothing else, we are positive that there were likely headlines on July 27, 1953, celebrating and noting the Armistice between the United Nations forces led mainly by the United States and the Communist forces consisting of North Korea and the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army. Below please find President Dwight David Eisenhower announcing the negotiations to establish an armistice pausing the Korean War. This was an armistice which is merely a time-out which has resulted in saber-rattling threatening to resume the conflict periodically ever since.

 

 

There has been a pattern with North Korea. They used to threaten to resume the war which held the threat of many casualties on both sides and potentially the near complete destruction of Seoul, South Korea followed by similar destruction throughout North Korea with the main targets being military assets. Nobody in the West desires such a renewal of this horrific conflagration. We always would like to believe that the same is true for the leaders of North Korea, but apparently one can never be sure, as the result of each episode has proven. Originally, North Korea would only make these threats when their nation was desperately in need of food, oil for electricity and including other necessities as North Korea has a very limited economic energy. Most of their economic production relies on the sale of coal and other minerals mostly to China and some limited subsistence farming. This leads to crises from malnutrition to absolute starvation of large sections of their population. With each passing of the leadership, the frequency of these crises would increase. Kim Jong-un has tested the resolve of every President since taking over after his father, Kim Jong-il, on December 17, 2011. Kim Jong-un immediately started to test Barack Obama continuing the crisis started by his father during the Presidency of George W. Bush by launching missiles anew and advertising the progress being accomplished at the Yongbyon nuclear complex. This eventually led to the partial capitulation as stated above with the food for promises President Obama accepted on March 1, 2012.

 

Now we are hearing of President Trump triumphantly claiming he believes that Kim Jong-un is negotiating in earnest and with respect, as we quoted above of President Trump claiming, “I think they’re sincere also because of the sanctions and what we’re doing with respect to North Korea.” and “(China) can do more but I think they’ve done more than they’ve ever done for our country before.” This shows once again President Trump’s lacking in depth of knowledge of history, recent or otherwise. Somebody, any of the generals, needs to inform him that he is being taken and that there is not an earnest bone in Chubby’s, sorry, we mean Kim Jong-un’s body. Kim Jong-us is playing the President and his belief that everyone thinks and treasures peace and reaching agreements as much as he. The Art of the Deal has to be sometimes not making any deal, as the other side is not dealing honestly. They are simply attempting to play for badly needed sustenance and other vital requirements. This has been the North Korean policy for the past twenty years. The North Korean economy is spent entirely on weapons, the military, nuclear research and keeping Kim Jong-un entertained, wined and dined in the manner in which he has become accustomed, which is quite lavish. Any nourishing provisions will largely be given to those in the military and the remainder of the population will be largely left to fend for themselves the best they are capable. Many people have been reportedly eating grass and bark off of trees, insects and anything else they can find which is at all edible. The one thing that Kim Jong-un has shown a desire to do is unify the entirety of the Peninsula, under his rule, of course. Any negotiation reached with Kim Jong-un today will be worthless by the end of May, as he believes that he is destined to be the leader of humankind.

 

Should President Trump be very fortunate, any agreement he reaches will last through the end of his time in office. The one thing the world can count on is that as soon as there is a new President, Kim Jong-un will be launching missiles, probably threatening San Francisco this time and testing nuclear weapons possibly even above ground in total disdain for all treaties. Kim Jong-un believes that the Western nations are soft and stupid and will fold before his demands every time. He knows that he will eventually get a leader elected to South Korea who will agree to some form of unification possibly with some form of shared leadership. Once the unification has been established, Kim Jong-un will slowly move his military throughout all of South Korea and, once in place, he will likely murder the South Korean leader and take rule of the entire peninsula using the wealth of South Korea to feed and assist the people of the now former North Korea and build as many missiles and nuclear warheads as he is able. Once he has attained the level with which he feels he is sufficiently well armed, then he will threaten and this time possibly force a confrontation. Within a couple of years of any future unification of the peninsula, the people of the former South Korea will be facing the same deprivations the North Koreans face today. The wealth and manufacturing of South Korea will be wasted and falling into disrepair as it is not required for maintaining his military, the only item he actually cares about other than the missiles and warheads. The entirety of the South Korean industrial infrastructure will be used to construct more military equipment, more planes, more tanks, more ships as Kim Jong-un sees himself as a conqueror and the leader of the world should he get half the opportunity. That is the man President Trump is about to trust, a man who only believes there are two kinds of people, those who are strong and meant to rule and those who treasure peace.
