Rumored Plans Imply Unity Government Imminent

There have been persistent rumblings that Prime Minister Netanyahu was in the late stages of replacing Jewish Home in his coalition with the Zionist Coalition of the Labor Party including Tzipi Livni and one or two of her Party’s members and the Labor Party. Politically this would appear to be a dangerous move as it could also serve to tear Netanyahu’s Likud Party apart with those truly loyal to Netanyahu and what some are referring to as his leftist leanings remaining with him and the nationalists possibly defecting to Jewish Home. Any move by any members of Likud to side with Jewish Home against a merging with Yitzhak Hertzog’s Labor Party risking Netanyahu replacing them with more left leaning, compromise through surrender wing of the Likud Party. For all those claiming that such would not be possible as Netanyahu had to have learned his necessary lesson from Arik Sharon’s forming a coalition of the willing under the banner of his own Party which he called Kadima and was molded carefully to allow for the surrender of Gaza to the Arabs, as a warning that such is political suicide. But on the other hand Prime Minister Netanyahu was a part of the loyalist Likud members who remained in the coalition as a Likud Member up until the very end and thus may have taken an entirely different lesson from the ill-fated Arik Sharon recasting of his ruling coalition without requiring new elections as a potential route to placating those nagging problems from all sides.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has to read the polls and political winds and realize that he is by far the most powerful political inevitability that Israel has witnessed, ranking even higher than Arik Sharon. A recent poll showed Netanyahu’s inevitability for the office of Prime Minister were elections to be held today with his topping every list of potential opponents by safe and unassailable numbers. Such a situation has to make one believe that nothing they could do would damage their position at the top of the heap, especially if such moves were seen as cutting the legs out from under any political threat from the leftist end of the political spectrum. The one consideration not looked into was the potential for a right of Netanyahu political figure rising were Netanyahu to move leftwards and make that unity government everybody claims would be required in order to make the Prime Minister’s position unassailable. Perhaps those taking these polls see Prime Minister Netanyahu as so right wing that there are no politicians in Israel today to the right of Netanyahu. Of course Israelis to the right of Netanyahu could easily argue that point and do so with vigor. What is making these rumors persist has been the adopting by Yitzhak Hertzog of a unified stand against the Iran nuclear agreement standing aside Netanyahu providing him the political cover to take such a strong stand.

The rumor that persists is that Prime Minister Netanyahu remained in Arik Sharon’s government for as long as he did was because he agreed with the whole plan which was never implemented where Gaza being turned over to the Arabs would have been followed within a year of turning over of almost all of Judea and Samaria all in order to forge a seemingly maximalist Palestinian body which Israel could rightfully claim was the definition by all of the borders of an Arab state named Palestine was and should be and by surrendering these lands Israel was unilaterally ending the entire Arab Israeli conflict as if forming an Arab state was the end of any protests and further demands. The reality, something we fear may soon come to fruition, is that by Israel surrendering all the lands that the United Nations, European Union, Russia and even many Arabs consider not only fair but beyond what any Israeli politician could survive relenting for the formation of the demanded Arab state, that Netanyahu would be rewarded with peace and an end to the claims by the Arabs for Israel to surrender more lands and not only would the entirety of the Arab-Israeli conflict be over but Netanyahu would be assured of the next Nobel Peace Prize.

But there is an elephant in the room that apparently has found a place to hide in the open. Mahmoud Abbas has made it adamantly clear that even if granted such borders that doing such would not end the war against Israel. Saeb Erekat has made it just as clear that the only conceivable end to the Arab Israeli problem would be borders replacing Israel with an Arab state whose first acts would be the extermination of the over six-million Jews residing in the Holy Lands and the destruction of every Synagogue and Jewish holy site. Hamas leadership has included all of this plus the eradication of the entirety of the Jewish peoples worldwide. Apparently the sole people who see giving the Arab fanatics exactly what the rest of the world imagines would be a fair and equitable solution ending the problem overlooks the actual problem, this is not a struggle over land but rather a religious struggle over who has a right to live anywhere, not just from the River to the Sea. The Arab-Israeli conflict is but a minute part of the Islamist puzzle and one the majority of the Islamic world could even bother to stop and utter an opinion about as currently there are far larger fish to fry, namely the conquest of Europe. There are refugees to send as the advance shock troops which will further tax the European Union and individual European Governmental ability to pay out the funds which will most certainly be required when these refugees have resided and gained identity cards and decided which country they can receive the greatest amount of benefits for the least amount of effort as many of these refugees were not overly wealthy in Syria or whatever other nation they originated from and view the governments of Europe as potential gift baskets to be tapped for all they are worth. Nowhere in these plans is there a chapter on the Arab-Israeli conflict though there is a diagram in the appendix as seen below defining the areas between Lebanon-Syrian Border and the Egyptian Sinai-Negev border defined as the River to the Sea meaning the Jordan River to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea marked Palestine.

Palestinian Textbook Maps depicting Palestine as replacing Israel, not sharing the land in peace and security as the Europeans and the rest of the West insist to misrepresent

The Arab and Muslim worlds regard the Arab-Israeli conflict as being over; decided and any loud noises from the area must be celebratory gun fire and most certainly not a potential renewed conflict. The problem is that the rest of the world sees the Arab-Israeli conflict as the seminal cause of all evil committed in the world by the powers of Islam. As long as the rest of the world holds Israel responsible for any and all acts of violent extremism from within the Islamic world simply because they have refused to just give away the candy store, the mantra of it’s those Israeli Jews causing the problems because of their selfish demands for defendable borders as the seminal cause of every last injustice and criminal intent in the world. The Arabs and the terror wielding kleptocratic criminal leaders in Ramallah all realize that as long as their war is solely with Israel they can do no wrong and Israel will be blamed for all sins, period. They hold dear to the idea first put forth by Yasser Arafat when he was, as the supposed joke goes, asked by Osama bin Laden (fill in your favorite living evil genius here in place of Osama bin Laden for modern context), ‘How it was that I, Osama bin Laden who has a few paltry attacks while the Arabs under Arafat’s control have been responsible for the murder of near uncountable people worldwide is supported and lavished with honors and given podiums the world over to spit his vitriol?’ To Which Arafat replied, ‘Osama, my dear friend, it is simple. You attack people and take cause against the imperial western governments while I claim to simply wish to take the land from the Jews and murder Israeli Jews. The world supports what it is I plan to accomplish and will forgive my every transgression providing I can frame it all as part of getting the Jews to surrender their nation and once more become the living embodiment of all evil the world desires to heap upon an innocent people and I promise to give them what they want.’

Now we have Mahmoud Abbas, otherwise known as Yasser Arafat without the two day beard growth and with a suit and tie, who is giving the world the same old swan song. Muslim terrorists are gunning innocent civilians in the streets of Paris and countless other tragedies as, London, New York, Madrid, Bali, Mumbai, Beslan, Moscow, Boston and the assassination of Robert Kennedy yet the world blames the Jewish State. Hatred of the Jewish State of Israel is this generation’s anti-Semitic target of choice, and now the Israeli Prime Minister may be planning to fall into the trap of believing that by doing just this one last sacrifice and the world will love him and the Jewish State. Doesn’t he get it that no matter what he does, if it leaves one Jew free to rule themselves then the world will demand they surrender the spot on which they stand and hound them to death every step they take claiming they are moving just to change where the spot is drawn. The blame has to be the Jew’s fault and thus it is the Jewish State’s fault for Paris as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for London as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for Hebdo as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for London, New York as if only they had given back more and sacrificed more Jews; for Bali, Mumbai, Beslan, Moscow, Boston, the assassination of Robert Kennedy and the Barbary Pirates plundering. It matters not what the latest and greatest tragedy is, the reason always is traced back by those intrepid reporters for the New York Times, BBC, CNN, Fox News, AFP, al Jazeera, AP, Reuters and whomever else is reporting, even Israeli media such as Haaretz; Israel must return to the peace talks even if they are left sitting at the table while the world burns down around them. They must give up other concessions to please and mitigate the great insult which Arafat, Abbas, Erekat or whomever is tasked with sitting that close to the Israeli representative faces and is forced to suffer. As the hot microphone discourse between then French President Sarkozy and United States President Obama went on privately unknowingly with one of their microphones still live;

“I can’t stand him. He’s a liar,” Sarkozy said of Netanyahu.
Obama replied, “You’re tired of him; what about me? I have to deal with him every day.”

So now it is starting to look as if Netanyahu has finally tripped and is about to fall beyond the cusp and surrender all of Judea and Samaria and half of Jerusalem. He will remove upwards of three-fourths of a million Jews destroying their cities and communities and destroying their livelihoods and dreams. He will claim it is all occupied lands which belong to the Arabs. Netanyahu will claim by making it Arab lands, he will have found the magic bullet to puncture the obsessive vitriol suffered by Israel at the hands of the rest of the world. This, Netanyahu will claim, finished the dream first put forth by Arik Sharon who was struck down before he could accomplish his ingenious plans. Netanyahu will claim to know this because of his bravely standing with Sharon until he didn’t stand with Sharon and now he is completing that which Sharon began and given the Jewish State the legitimacy it deserves and has lacked until this point. Netanyahu will have now given those who took the name Palestinian for its name recognition and power to steal the story of the Jews, the recognition that their claims to all the land are valid as why else would the Jews give up even half of Jerusalem if it were actually their historic Capital city. This, Abbas, Erekat, Rabbo and the rest will claim proves everything they have ever said including from the River to the sea Palestine must be free. When Netanyahu loses the support of Jewish Home Party and one-third of the Likud Party he will simply make a deal with Herzog, which will be blessed by the Supreme Court as Netanyahu surrendered just as they have demanded nearly forever. Of course this new coalition of the willing to surrender to every demand no matter its legitimacy because we must appear reasonable before the world, thus the party name we have chosen is Quisling Party. Is there any sanity left in this world or has everybody gone beyond the cusp?

They are at it again, blowing off steam, pacing, pouting and protesting everything. But best of all, they’re threatening again the one threat they would never ever, ever carry through. The two most vocal of the Arab Authority have taken to the media and threatened to dissolve their governance and turn governing Judea and Samaria over to the Israelis threatening that then Israel will be forced to govern and perform the requirements of an occupying power. Mahmoud Abbas threatened this on Sunday and Saeb Erekat made the threat again on Monday. Whenever I hear this empty threat my first thought is always, “If only!” The first item the Israeli government should commit to is permitting the Arab refugees which Mahmoud Abbas, Saeb Erekat and the rest of the Arab Authority pretenders have shown their great concern and sympathy for their fellow Arabs in the camps in Judea and Samaria and under the autonomy and governance of the Arab Authority (we will no longer refer to them as the name they use to try and replace the Jews as the rightful owners to the Promised Land when they use their name of Palestinian Authority to claim that Jesus was a Palestinian and not a Jew and they are the real modern descendants of the Israelites from the Old Testament thus the new term of Arab Authority) keeping them isolated and living in poverty and without any possibility of attaining employment or living outside the concrete refugee camp where they remain isolated from their Arab brothers just outside the camp and liberate them freeing them to live free and have the same rights as the rest of the Arabs residing in Judea and Samaria. They should be permitted to seek employment and be treated the same as any Arab living within the areas which were under the Arab Authority kleptocracy.

The threat that Mahmoud Abbas and Saeb Erekat are making does have consequences for the Israelis. The consequence has nothing to do with their threats but with the mendacious and perfidy of the Europeans, United States, United Nations and those who now send trillions of Euros and Dollars to the Arab Authority as if such funds will actually be used to assist the Arabs living within the Arab Authority and not have much of the funding end up in numbered Swiss bank accounts of the leadership of the Arab Authority. It was ignored that Mahmoud Abbas and sons ran multiple construction contracting companies who received an inordinate number of contracts where little work was accomplished but funds were authorized and the monies simply disappeared. The funds which have gushed into the Arab Authority will dry up without a single dollar, without a single Euro, without as much as even a collapsed and nearly worthless Ruble will be sent to assist Israel in caring for the same Arabs. But that does not matter as once the Arabs are freed from the Arab Authority oppressions and depredations and permitted to find employment, start their own businesses, and with time find work within Israel once they are cleared and given work permits to cross into Israel and no longer needing to gain the permission of the kleptocracy and are permitted to work for themselves and gain from the sweat of their own brow and they will soon realize the depth and deprivations of their oppression under Abbas who was no different or less corrupt than was Arafat before him as the acorn that is Abbas did not fall far from the master Arafat and the difference was in attire, not in practice, dishonesty or theft of the bread and butter from their subjects’ mouths.

This threat is not aimed at Israel as in Israel they are aware that given the ‘burden’ of taking over running of the areas of Judea and Samaria would have its challenges but with time the Arabs would learn that the Israelis were not the problem and the reason why they were deprived of the treasure from the efforts at making a living or living a decent life free from the oppressions the oligarchy placed upon them and denials of freedoms. The freedom to make a living and to be employed and to employ those you choose free of interference from the governance which hung over them would initially amaze and eventually become a liberating experience. Allowing Israel to take control over Judea and Samaria would be a boon for entrepreneurs willing to invest and open businesses in manufacturing, service, food and in all manner of enterprise which could initially be permitted their first two years free from many taxes to encourage such investments.

But the benefits for all would go far beyond the economic liberty and opportunities which would be presenting a world of difference from the restricted opportunities controlled and limited by the Arab Authority. The education system could be completely revamped changing the emphasis from the destruction of Israel and hatred of Jews to something revolutionary, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic and the other subjects which would offer the next generation with the added opportunity to be self-sufficient. They would still be educated in their religion but also be given an education which would facilitate a better future with new opportunities and facilitate future generations who will forge a greater future for all the Arabs within Judea and Samaria giving them an equal chance for a future equal to that of every Israeli. Israel was an agrarian economy through the 1960s and into the 1970s and then things changed with the influx of thousands of Russian Jews who were trained in computer sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, numerous other forms of engineering, theoretical sciences and the entire span of the sciences amongst other subjects which altered Israeli society. This influx was timed almost perfectly with an increasingly urban population and the necessity for new areas of employment and industrialization. This change of the emphasis in a society from agrarian to high tech took some time but the change took place and Israel became a technological wonder in the ensuing decades. The same transformation could be performed with the population in Judea and Samaria and Mahmoud Abbas and Saeb Erekat both are fully aware that once they permit Israel to give the Arabs they currently oppress would result in their never being permitted to return to power and possibly result in their fleeing before they were held responsible by those they cheated from having a full life and permitted to achieve to their full potential.

So, exactly why are Mahmoud Abbas and Saeb Erekat once again making their empty threat to end their governance, or should I be honest and call it what it really is, mis-governance, of Judea and Samaria? They are doing this for the same reason that they make any of their preposterous, over-the-top, exaggerated, outrageous and ridiculously excessive threats; to simply panic the United States, Europeans and to signal the regiments of NGOs to go into full panic mode exclaiming the coming disaster and thus get all the regular targets to pressure the Israelis while pledging to provide additional billion of funds, if not trillions, and politicians from the entire world pleading them to remain and continue doing that which only they are capable of performing, raising the next generation which will assist in the terrorism and political elimination arguments and actions which may work towards the day when Israel will be eliminated and those who have worked so diligently behind the efforts can still say the eulogies and proclaim their sorrow and regret that the Jewish state fell before unforgiving pressures from all directions which they themselves had no hand in, honest, they will proclaim their absolute innocence and refute any who claim otherwise. This exercise is performed on the stage of ludicrous pronouncements mixed with massive amounts of over-dramatization plus no small measure of prevarication and punctuated with hyperbolic histrionics all played out on the world’s stage before an always pliant and hungry Western appetite ready to dance to the Arab Authority depictions of honest execution of truth all in a dishonest effort to pander to their sympathetic Western fools. This particular passion play is being performed for a particular reason. The Arab Authority is aiming to reapply for recognition of statehood before the United Nations Security Council as January brought a changing of the guard, so to speak. The changes in the Security Council are Australia who voted against and is being replaced by New Zealand, Rwanda who abstained being replaced by Angola, South Korea who abstained is being replaced by Malaysia, Luxembourg who voted in favor is being replaced by Spain, and Argentina who voted in favor is being replaced by Venezuela. As all that the Palestinian require if all the remainder of the nations carried over to the New Year vote as they did in the previous vote is for New Zealand, Angola or Malaysia to vote in favor and for Spain and Venezuela to vote in favor as did Luxembourg and Argentina in the previous vote. Basically what it comes down to is for Spain and Venezuela to vote in favor as Malaysia is very likely to vote in favor giving the Palestinians the ninth vote and if either should change their vote to abstain or against, then either New Zealand or Angola would need to vote in favor to balance the equation. Unfortunately, it does appear that the Palestinians if they get their petition before the Security Council again in this new Security Council which is quite likely as Jordan will be serving as the President in January it will almost assuredly pass. Should the Palestinians gain the nine necessary votes the question becomes what will the five permanent members do, would any use their overriding veto? Since France, China and Russia supported the previous attempt they would be unlikely to use their veto which leaves Britain and the United States. There is a remote possibility that the United States might decide not to veto the petition which might not matter as if that were to be the case, it is actually possible that Britain’s Prime Minister Cameron might instruct their Ambassador to veto the petition, despite as surprising as many might find such a move. Between the Arab Authority’s current temper tantrum and their plans to reapply to the United Nations Security Council to force Israel to surrender to the Palestinian territorial demands it is not going to be a boring start to this New Year. It is an ancient Chinese curse which wishes for one to live in interesting times; perhaps things such as this are the actual meaning of interesting which would make it definitely a curse.

Will Australia Survive Palestinian Condemnations?

The Australian government has displayed great amounts of chutzpah and discernment of principles by recognizing a truth which though defined by numerous legal precedents as well as a fair number of international treaties, accords, committees and even Article 80 of the Charter for the United Nations but should still brace themselves for great upheavals and assaults filled with opprobrium, malice and scorn. One might wonder what faux pas they could have committed to draw such a serious and strong set of reactions. The Australians actually announced they no longer intend to use of the term “occupied” when referring to Jewish neighborhoods in parts of Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinian Authority. As reported in the Sydney Morning Herald, speaking on behalf of Australian Attorney General Bronwyn Bishop was Senator George Brandis who referred to such terminology as “unhelpful.” He further stated, “Australia supports a peaceful solution to the dispute between Israel and the Palestinian people, which recognizes the right of Israel to exist peacefully within secure borders and also recognizes the aspiration to statehood of the Palestinian people. The description of areas which are subject to negotiations in the course of the peace process by reference to historical events is unhelpful.” Senator Brandis concluded stating, “The description of East Jerusalem as ‘Occupied East Jerusalem’ is a term freighted with pejorative implications, which is neither appropriate nor useful.”

The very initial condemnations which came from this announcement came from within the Australian government. One of those condemning the position was Independent Senator Nick Xenophon who said, “It’s an extraordinary and reckless departure from the bipartisan approach of the last forty seven years. It is contrary to the government’s position it is completely unhelpful to walk away from the term ‘occupied’. If you don’t acknowledge historical facts, what are the hopes for lasting peace in the Middle East?” He concluded by pointing out, “Even Israel’s strongest ally, the United States, does not hold this position.” Senator Xenophon’s criticism struck me like somebody’s mother asking if their friends all jumped off a bridge would you jump too? Australia and Israel have had close relations and an unemotional and strictly legal inspection of historical documents which pertain to the areas in question all without question give Israel the primary, if not the sole rights to these lands. Even the most anti-Israel and pessimistic legal interpretation would still allow for Israel to retain as much of these contested lands as she could logically prove she required in order to establish defensible borders. That could even include every inch of lands within Judea and Samaria, often mislabeled the West Bank, as the wording of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 does not require Israel to return all of the lands gained from the Six Day War but only as much of the lands while allowing for her to retain those lands necessary to provide a defensible border. As Israel returned the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula as well as all of the Gaza Strip, retaining the West Bank would be permissible under the requirements of the stipulations of the United Nations. Israel has already relinquished claims to over ninety percent of the total lands she acquired in the defensive actions of the Six Day War but the Arabs through their Palestinian proxies are attempting to make United Nations Resolution 242 apply to only those lands Israel still retains control over and is demanding that Israel be forced to surrender those lands as per that agreement knowing and despite the reality that Israel has surrendered sufficient lands to satisfy all United Nations requirements and thus cannot actually be required to release her hold on any further areas.

But it can be bet safely that Australia will face condemnations from many sources for their principled stand. The barrages have already fired the first salvos with denunciation and recriminations coming from Palestinian spokesperson and chief negotiator Saeb Erekat. Mr. Erekat wrote a June 5 letter which was made public by Ma’an news where he wrote, “Palestine will request that the Arab League and the Islamic Conference review the relations of the Arab and Islamic world with Australia in light of Australia’s unlawful recognition of the illegal settlement regime in occupied Palestine.” He went on to further write that the remarks demonstrate that Australia “does not intend to comply with its duty under international law not to recognize Israeli sovereignty over any part of the Palestinian territory occupied by Israel in 1967, including East Jerusalem. Palestine views these developments in the gravest terms and is weighing the appropriate legal and diplomatic response.”

What is preposterous and filled with twisting of the truths and realities is the presumption by the Palestinian governance that they have the sole legal and principled right to define international law by whatever interpretation they choose and that it is their right to dictate to a sovereign nation what their interpretation of international law must be. Simply because so many nations choose to regurgitate the tripe dictated by the Palestinians with an implied threat of terrorist enforcers attacking any nation which disagrees and having a history of hijacking international airliners from numerous nations, assaulting and murdering Olympic athletes during the Olympic Games and numerous assassinations and other international crimes is no reason that their word must be accepted by any nation willing to stand for what they believe. That so many nations have cowered before their threats speaks volumes to the lack of leaders willing to take a position which requires a stiff spine and a solid sense of taking a righteous stance and braving the slings and arrows of outrageous slanders from those less willing to speak truth to power no matter the numbers or the loudness of their indignant protestations. As long as we are butchering Shakespeare quotes, Me thinks Master Erekat protests too much. Or should we go with, Out out damn spot? Truthfully, I want to thank those in the Australian government and those who voted them into office and all who support their brave, forthright, honest and insightful stance which states the reality which has been clouded and obscured to such an extent that anybody standing for these truths often felt alone screaming in the wilderness wondering if anybody would hear, and if so, would they even care. Thanks to the statements made by the ruling coalition leadership in Australia we know that there are others willing to stand and speak truth and bare the scorns from lesser men who cower in the shadows of the deceitful statements simply because those lies were repeated sufficient number of times with greater and greater volume. What was further proven by the Australian statements which were made quietly and politely and the response which was filled of invectives and insults which were to be assumed valid simply because these too were spoken with great volume. It has been my experience that the truth is spoken softly and the lie screamed and repeated as if placing such force of wind behind the sounds would validate them. Apparently for much of today’s world and its leaders, that assumption is proving true. Perhaps the Australian stand for truth and softly speaking that truth will awaken others or if not, perhaps at least shame them in their acquiescence to the quiet convenience of laying with deceivers. Thank you Australia and may you be honored for your standing with convictions.
