From Israel for Your Information

 

Just as the world’s media downplayed or simply ignored not only the massive forest and other fires where many were proved to be arson, there are some other stories which might not have reached the rest of the world we thought you might desire hearing all about. We will start out with lighter fare and work our way through to wherever it leads us. One factoid which became known this week has supposedly struck some in the Arab world as distressful, that there has been a steady increase of Israeli Arabs joining the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Another was the breaking up of a terror cell of eight Hamas backed Arab residents from the Sur Baher and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhoods of East Jerusalem. The cell was preparing to carry out shooting attacks in the Israeli Capital of Jerusalem and surrounding areas, including against an IDF base and targets on Mount Scopus, home to the Hebrew University and Hadassah Hospital. The cell had reconnoitered some of their targets and were about to attack the IDF base in North Jerusalem on Mount Scopus. The cell was apparently started by Hamas back in 2015 after many of its members were released from serving their sentences for previous “nationalistic” crimes, a euphemism for terrorist attacks. A statement released by Shin Bet reported, “The disruption of the [terror] network preventing a number of serious terror attacks in Jerusalem and its discovery again highlights the danger posed by terrorists with Israeli ID cards, who benefit from the freedom of movement and access to firearms, making it relatively easy for such individuals to carry out terror attacks.”

 

In plain English the point was that the instigating tactics and inflaming of anti-Israel and anti-Semitism exists and has been growing amongst Israeli Arab, especially those who received citizenship when East Jerusalem was formally annexed and the residents granted Israeli identification cards. Many of these who have taken to terrorism were initially educated by the Palestinian Authority (PA) and never were honestly integrated into Israeli society and still dreamed of the destruction of the Jewish State. This was also a further warning of some of the problems which now exist after so many decades of Arab incitement throughout their society and particularly in their education indoctrination schools and camps. The silence from the world’s media on these two stories stem from the same inadequacy, or better put, were filtered from the news by the same principle, no news which backs the Israel or Jewish side of this conflict must be permitted. On the other hand, every time an Arab is harmed even through a verbal slighting, no matter what the reasoning this must be blown out of proportion and be used to show the racism in Israeli reporting by the European and leftist world media. The simple fact of breaking up a terrorist squad one would think could be a good news story but only if it takes place in Paris, Rome, Berlin, London or any other Western metropolis as preventing terror in these parts is part of the “War on Terror” while the same events in Israel is part of “other news” and not the slightest degree of equal importance. The media would have you believe that terrorism in Israel is separate and totally different and unrelated to terror outside of Israel. According to too many media news editors, Israeli terrorist attacks are deserved while all terror outside Israel is horrific and actually Israel’s fault in the first place and thus can be reported and even blamed upon Israel if even the most tenuous connection is possible.

 

This brings us to our last story before more opinion comes your way. The United Nations, that great arbiter of beneficial actions has decided to vote next week in the General Assembly to fund a blacklisting of Israeli and international companies operating in Jerusalem, the Golan Heights and in Judea and Samaria. There will be no distinction as to whether these companies employ Palestinian Arabs or that by boycotting them they are acting in a hurtful manner as we can assure you that in virtually every company which had facilities outside the Green Line is employing both Israeli settlers and Palestinian Arabs. Why, you may ask, would the international community boycott or otherwise target Israeli companies who employ Palestinian Arabs with equal rights and salaries as Israeli citizens possibly causing these Palestinian Arabs who this is done to support their good paying jobs. The reason is as sick as it is disgusting. These Arabs, who work alongside Jewish workers, hold management and supervisory position in equal percentages as Jewish workers with some supervising Jewish workers, despite what you may have been told, are not helping the cause of proving Israel to be an Apartheid state which segregates against Arabs. All Palestinian Arabs must be dependent on Mahmoud Abbas, Fatah, UNRWA, and be providing ample fodder for the terror mills. Israeli employed Palestinian Arabs make often half again higher wages that even the PA security forces are paid and this makes for bad news. These Palestinian Arabs are considered by the world media to be collaborators and that can only be an evil Zionist plot to employ these Palestinian Arabs and provide them jobs and equal treatment and what would happen should the world find this out. When SodaStream was boycotted and maligned sufficiently that they closed their Judea plant and this cost nearly a thousand Palestinian Arab jobs but this was heralded as a good thing as it presumably cost the Jew settlers their jobs, but it did not because they have Israeli Identification Cards and thus just had a farther distance to drive to work and kept their jobs. The Palestinian Arabs would need to receive special work permit identification cards which would also have required clearance from the PA as well as Israel and these papers were slow if ever coming at all thus all that was accomplished by the boycott of SodaStream was the loss of Palestinian Arabs’ jobs making for another group of PA Arabs that Israel would not permit to work. Now there is a story they did report but did so making it seem like SodaStream had simply fired their Arab workers at their Judea plant and never noting it was the media that hounded them in closing that plant.

 

Many of these to be blacklisted Israeli companies will either move their companies within Israel or simply go bust and close up all together. Palestinian Arabs will lose good jobs and Jews residing now near their work will need to take transportation or drive further to reach their work. This blacklisting makes for some added stress for the Jews working in Judea and Samaria for these companies but it denies the PA Arabs of jobs which serves the propaganda campaign against Israel. If PA Arabs must suffer so Israel will look bad, well then to help these PA Arabs we must first destroy their jobs and lives. They are destroying workplaces where Jew and Arab work together in peace and with mutual respect in the name of helping the Arabs who without this help would have nowhere to turn, but it is more like because of this help they lose it all and then have nowhere to turn. These lost jobs are then trumpeted in the media of a wickedly evil within Israeli society refusing to hire Arabs despite the reality that it was the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanction) Movement which stole the existing livelihood from these PA Arabs who they now lament lost their jobs. It is one of the worst cases of it works so let’s fix it which leads to destroying a better life for PA Arabs because the story line must read Israel denies PA Arabs the opportunity to work. How can these NGOs demonize Israel if Israeli companies are treating PA Arabs as equals in their factories in Judea and Samaria, those “settler” companies? That is a question the media refuses to admit to facilitating.

 

The reality that the world is not being told about is that it has been the PA leadership which has refused to make any deal with Israel as they still adhere to the Khartoum Conference’s Three No’s which are, No Peace with Israel, No Negotiations with Israel, No Recognition of Israel. This was the agreement reached in an emergency session of the Arab League. It was his going against these agreements for which the Muslim Brotherhood, potentially but unproven assists from the Arab League or other Arab nations, arranged the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat after he Negotiated with Israel, made Peace with Israel and thus Recognized Israel. Anwar Sadat was a brave soul who knew he was tempting fate when he initiated talks with Israel meeting in Jerusalem with Menachem Begin. For reaching an agreement with Israel, Egypt was returned the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula with its small but profitable oil fields, its Sharm El Sheikh Resort community and with the destruction of twenty-plus Israeli settlement communities being removed and the Israelis taken back within Israel. That last bit is proof positive that the “settlements” are not an impediment for peace. If a true and real peace required their destruction, then such would become a definitive possibility, but the world does not want a peace or any settlement of the Palestinian Arab situation, the world wants it to fester and to become ever more dire with the Palestinian Arabs without jobs such that the destruction of Israel becomes the cry of the day. Mahmoud Abbas has flat stated that he will only accept a peace which destroys Israel as a Jewish State and is perfectly fine with an Israel ruled by Arabs. The fact that the Arabs he desired be moved to Israel include every Arab in any refugee camp including the camp in Jenin and the camp outside Nablus and even the camp attached to Gaza City. Yes, there are three massive refugee camps for Palestinian Arabs with their being held prisoners within lands under Palestinian Arab autonomy, complete rule when speaking of Gaza under Hamas. These Palestinian Arabs are guarded by Arab security forces and some even meet with family through the barbed wire topped fences. One need understand that these Arabs must be kept separate from their brethren because they are the political hammer and crowbar with which Israel is to be destroyed and as such they are only useful if they are kept as refugees in their own lands. And yes, the media, the Western governments, and the United Nations all know about these refugees left in these camps for the purpose solely of bringing about the destruction of Israel and they all agree that this is the end to be desired even if it leads to every Israeli Jew and Christian being slaughtered along with many Arab Muslims who are deemed to be traitors to the cause for being Israeli citizens and having a good life with all the benefits of being an Israel over being a Palestinian Arab inside the fences of Jenin, Nablus and Gaza City. Oh, and one last thing, there are no Arab refugee camps within Israel and Israel took in the same numbers if not more refugees of Jews forced to flee their homelands in Arab countries across the Middle East and North Africa. None were placed in refugee camps and left to languish in misery just to make a political point, they were taken in as brothers and sisters as they are just as much family as the Ethiopian Jews who were airlifted to Israel when their homelands turned on them and they needed a new home. These are all realities you will never hear from the media hype of mean horrible Israelis victimizing Palestinian Arabs with genocidal rage and hatred.

 

Israel being the good guys is rarely covered and when it is it has often been Israelis rushing to some of the world’s worst disaster places to assist in helping in any way possible. Israel has civilian corps and military units which are trained to provide assistance, do search and rescue, set up and man a complete field hospital including OBGYN, delivery rooms and a nursery as well as fully capable operating rooms and clinics which can treat people where they live and are injured plus perform triage of a sort for the main field hospital. One of the best examples was Haiti after their devastating earthquake and the Philippines after a horrific typhoon. Israel was at Japan after the earthquake and tsunami which destroyed the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant meltdown and destruction. Israel assisted in New Orleans after Katrina and in New York City and all its affected surrounding areas after Superstorm Sandy. Israel has assisted in Turkey, Nepal and just about every nation willing to accept Israeli help.

Return of Ancient Hatreds Haunt Israeli Memories

 

The rejection of Israeli rights to the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea has a historical ancestor, rejection of the Old Testament. The Jewish People first served Hashem and abolished idolatry, child or human sacrifice, limited slavery, limit the power of rulers and kings along with numerous other rules which protect the vulnerable and demands the highest standards of an all-encompassing set of moral codes which expected only the best of people and for every man to look to the care of his brother human beings. They had a set of laws, six-hundred-thirteen commandments including the rules for the priest class and their numerous and individual responsibilities to keep the Temple and Arc of the Covenant and all the practices and necessary accoutrements in order. Then they had something which was unheard of in those times three-thousand-five-hundred-years ago give or take a few centuries and was not repeated by any other nation until the twentieth century. The commandments which the Jews were following were meant just for them and were not to be imposed on others. For others the only laws they were expected to follow were the Noahic Code, seven laws displayed in the image below. These rules were considered the minimum requirement for civilized life which was required for the formation of cities and have order or at least less chaos. The problem is the Jews were also instructed to lead moral lives such that by their example others would strive to be better human beings.

 

 

 

 

The Jews had a period of conquest where they, after they left Egypt, received the Ten Commandments and were taught Torah in its entirety according to custom with the very last chapters recorded as their actions completed the early story of the Jewish People. The rest of the Bible continues the story of the Jewish People to a point through the eras of Kings, Prophets and Judges starting with Joshua and the conquest of the Promised Lands, the lands promised to Abraham by Hashem and again to Isaac and Jacob. This leads us to the modern time where Israel would live in the confined spaces between Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. Though under King David the twelve tribes and related priests were reunited as one force which did extend through what today is known as Syria reaching the Euphrates River, that was the greatest extension attained though it has been conjectured and certain evidence proven that King Solomon was known for his wisdom and his judgements were respected and even sought by other leaders in his day. Kings David and Solomon marked a high point in Jewish history in the Promised Land and under King David Jerusalem became the beating heart of Jewish existence and served as the Capital City from that day forward. The claims that Israel is attempting to threaten the Arab held lands and that Israel would expand to become what has been referred to as a Greater Israel reaching from the Euphrates River in Iraq to the Nile River in Egypt uses a mention in the Bible and commentary of Torah where an argument was put forth as a point of discussion, nothing more. Israel would be perfectly content with the borders above in red on the right side which depicts what has been recognized by numerous military strategists as the borders Israel was expected to retain after the 1967 and 1973 wars instigated by the Arab nations forcing Israel to defend herself or perish and since those wars Israel surrendered the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula back to Egypt which in and of itself more than met the stipulations of every United Nations requirement set forth by the Security Council. There were military experts who believed that Israel should have retained half of the Sinai Peninsula using its central mountains as a defendable border but Israel returned all of the Egyptian lands which Egypt stated they would prefer for Israel to return and which required Israel to destroy communities which were built during the years after those wars proving that any communities which require being destroyed and their populations moved back within the restricted borders of Israel. When Gaza was gifted unilaterally by Israel to the Palestinian Authority (PA), it required the destruction of some large and operative communities in order to meet the demands that there be no Jews in the lands the PA ruled completely. The PA lost the Gaza in a coup by Hamas with support of the Islamic Jihad. Ever since Hamas took command over Gaza there have been rockets fired into Israel aimed at civilian locations and almost solely at civilian targets. Israel placed a legal blockade, recognized as such by the United Nations, which became a necessity when it was discovered that Hamas and Islamic Jihad were importing weapons and rockets by sea to use against Israeli civilian targets. Israel required for any deliveries into Gaza first is inspected by Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which they are, and be passed on to Gaza as long as the materials are not military usage by Hamas or other terror agencies. Proof of the necessity of the blockade by the Egyptian blockade on their border with Gaza within weeks as it was being utilized as a weapons transfer and terrorist insertion into the Sinai Peninsula from within Gaza. Egypt has gone to greater lengths than Israel had, expanding the buffer zone, as the Egyptians expanded the buffer zone by over the half a kilometer destroying all of the homes within that area and all without the media firestorm when Israel destroyed some dozens of homes which were also being used to shield tunnel entrances while the media depicted this strategic necessity as an outright collective form of punishment and not a military necessity. That was the norm with Israeli actions in the world where Israel is scrutinized over every act or discussion while almost every other nation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is mostly ignored despite their having far worse records than does Israel. Why is this disparate scrutiny permitted where Israel is inspected for every mention while the rest of the world is largely left to do as they please?

 

Part of the problem is purely misunderstandings when it comes to Israel. Many people honestly believe Israel is significantly larger than she is. There have been questions asked of people as to the size of Israel and many answered that Israel compared as near equal to the United States and almost all believed that Israel was larger than numerous large states such as Texas and California and not closer to New Jersey. When people were told that Israel measures very close to the size of New Jersey they reacted with shock, surprise and incredulity as to the veracity of the statement which can be understood in the comparative maps below. Israel is amongst the smallest of nations yet is treated as comparable in size to European nations or even far larger. Israel would be nine miles wide if she was forced to return to the pre-June 1967 Armistice Lines which would allow adversaries, of which there are many, to slice Israel in half while destroying much of Israeli industry and population in the process.

There are reasons why Israel is hated and judged on a scale unseen by almost every nation with the possible exception of the United States. The difference in size forces Israel to be threatened should they be forced to allow a terrorist entity to be perched on the highlands overlooking much of the nation as the Arab world and their friends demand. Israel is taken to task simply because the return of the Jewish People to their ancient homelands further makes the prophesies of the Bible, and the Torah in particular, verified and validated which makes Torah and the Bible relevant today and applicable as written. Those groups, religious institutions and other entities which have based their existence and validity on the replacement theological premise which claimed that the Jewish People were cursed to wander as stateless peoples residing at the good graces of their betters, was shattered when the Jews reestablished Israel with Yerushalayim as its Capital City. Manner of defining the Jewish People as having become bereft of Hashem and no longer being the Chosen People having been replaced initially by the Christian Church and then at a later date by Islam with both claiming to be the Chosen People and as the ones graced by a new covenant replacing the Jewish covenant. Their proof was the Jews having no state or place that was theirs where they were defended by said state and that the Jews were forsaken. The Jews had been cast out of Eretz Yisroel as the Jews had become the accursed of Hashem. This had led to the Jews becoming the cursed of Hashem and thus the domain of Satan, the operatives or spawn of the Devil. This being expounded as a central doctrine was some of the root for modern anti-Semitism.

 

The last reason for hatred of Israel as simple projection of anti-Semitism goes even further back where the Jewish People were the first to claim the frailties of man and their need to recognize that without Hashem man was vulnerable to uncivilized behavior and devolving down to a point of being a beast and no greater than was a monkey or worse. The Noahic Code and Judaism itself attempting to lead by example was the one-two punch which Jews presented to a world where lusts, rapes, lawlessness and deviancy were the norm and the Jews were offering mankind a higher and more noble path to tread and in many, if not most, cases mankind simply was not prepared, not ready for a higher and more noble path and resented having their lives as wrong. They had the right of might to act as their idolatrous gods demanded of them including human, child and even infant sacrifice. Ridding these cultures of their idols was also a threat to those who made the idols so many craved for their own home as that would protect their family and houses. The morality supposedly practiced by Jews, and at least what Torah commanded of them, was a code which mankind preferred not to be required to live up to. Having your entire life be the determining factor of whether your soul would travel straight into heaven with barely a ‘how do you do’ while others would spend as much as a year being cleansed of the impure acts which had somehow stained and even injured the soul.

 

When Israel had been a nation setting the example for a righteous life they were reviled. Living on and controlling the common routes for almost all trade going between Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Africa meant the lands the Jews resided on were in great demand, especially to empires such as Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans meant that the Jewish homelands remained conquered by other empires far too often. What one item that remained necessary to keep the fulcrum running was food, preferably grown and provided locally. This presented all the empires with the same problem, the land would not produce for them; it only produced for the Jews. This resulted in the Jews retaining their homelands as they had to be the ones who worked the land, even if they were to do so under the protection, occupation of the foreign power often allowing some degree of self-rule in exchange for the Jews providing the critical needful items the ground and grasslands produced. This dependence upon a conquered people did not do anything to enhance the image of the Jews, especially since they insisted their religion was the holy order of the one true deity, which Hashem actually is. This plus the nearly constant attempts by the Jews to regain their independence made their province one of the least productive. The constant turmoil by the Jews finally pushed beyond the breaking point and Rome snapped. The Romans destroyed the second Temple, which was built and in service when Buddha and Confucius were born and later spread their versions of how the world should operate, something the Jews had been doing for almost a millennia and doing it so well that pieces of Torah can be found in the philosophies of these two venerated philosophers and subsequently, when that did not prevent the Jews from seeking their independence, scattered the Jews to the far corners of the Roman Empire, as if to say they were scattered on the winds.

 

There are two items which saved the Jewish People from extinction as had befallen the empire and people of Carthage after Rome finally vanquished their power burning their capital to the ground and breaking every last brick and salting the surrounding lands such that they would never produce grains again. While the Jews were scattered they had two things which preserved them as a people. The first was the blessed Sabbath and the second was Torah, even if it remained solely as word of mouth as it was after Moses’s times when he instructed the Jewish People the entirety of Torah which was initially stored through word of mouth. The Polemic Greeks decided to prove that Torah was made by mankind and had no deistic source thus proving that Hashem did not exist as if Torah was from such a perfect and higher entity it could not be altered by mankind. The Polemic Greeks placed seventy-two Rabbinical scholars in separate rooms and instructed them to write the entirety of Torah translated into ancient Greek. Their intent was to find any single copy which differed from the rest. This experiment was instigated to prove that Torah did not have a divine source and was a mere product with no special qualities just as every other manmade religious and cultural elements, including their own idolatrous religious hierarchy. This produces seventy-two perfectly identical Greek translation of the Hebrew (Jewish) Torah which are, to this day, considered the best translation of the Old Testament and is the gold standard and is called the Septuagint, which means seventy which means that two of the Rabbi were short-shrifted, and to this day is still used and can only be supplanted by the Dead Sea Scrolls which may or may not be older and are direct transcripts of Torah and other teaching. These were the historic roots which made anti-Semitism all but engrained into human DNA. But what are the roots of the latest seeming explosion of anti-Semitism, anti-Zionist and anti-Israel hatreds which have honestly bubbled to the surface across Europe and spreading across the college and university campuses in the United States and Canada bringing anti-Americanism and anti-western culture and governance demonstrations which makes sense as much of Western culture is rooted in Judeo-Christian ethics despite the current war against such a high standard of ethics.

The Modern anti-Israelism, anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism are all one and the same. They all center on the hatred of the Jews and their success which is due to their ethic which is what makes their initial success and then the success is a direct result of their initial success. Just as Jewish success in business and the sciences and almost every area of human endeavor even to include limited but important success in the sport of boxing. Daniel Mendoza who wrote the book on modern boxing as he in 1954 Mendoza was elected to the Boxing Hall of Fame as he was reputed to have invented the scientific art of boxing taking the sport from merely men brawling to tactics and punching in combinations and setting up punches with feints. Mendoza also changed the picture of the Jew as a shrewish little weakling incapable of even the smallest amount of self-defense as Mendoza beat his way to the top of the boxing game.

Mendoza was the boxer who not only invented and showed the advantage of having a plan and practice certain steps and such things as combinations and defensive footwork instead of standing toe-to-toe and throwing haymakers. When Israel defends herself and her civilians from Hamas and Islamic Jihad rockets, the standing toe-to-toe and thrown haymakers, Israel deftly uses the planned and researched placements of the limited number of Iron Dome anti-missile batteries which had an unbelievable success as the equivalent of defensive footwork. The IDF uses their many differing weapons to defeat Hamas and Islamic Jihad and any other Jihadists in such a manner to minimize the most unfortunate result defending against the terrorists, saving the defenseless civilians. The IDF are doing whatever they can to decrease collateral damage as Israel sends warnings using pamphlets, phone calls, knocking a target with a small explosive to warn a larger and far more destructive bomb will soon follow and other such methods that the civilians are given warning to leave the building. There are those who have their doubts that Israel gives such warnings as that allows the terrorists to depart the target and move to safety. That is just the price Israel pays in this difficult fighting but settles for striking just the munitions left behind as Israel holds innocent life above all else. The IDF and the government of Israel hold themselves to standards so much higher than other militaries in the western world and virtually immeasurably above other governments, especially that of their adversaries as the war in Syria and the events in Libya as well as the terror attacks in Paris in the past eighteen months from Charlie Hebdo through the Kosher Market Hyper Cachet to the recent military style assault on Paris, Mumbai in India, the train bombings in London and Madrid, the Boston Marathon bombings and far too many attacks targeting only civilians especially the knifing Intifada which is approaching its second year in Israel largely in Jerusalem. There have been military specialists who have stated that the IDF standards are so high that if such standards become the expected norm it would make other Western nations efforts far more difficult as Israel causes civilian casualties from collateral damage to a level so low that no other military in any conflict has even been capable of keeping such deaths as comparably low. Such is the message from military experts and a former officer witnessing before a United Nations panel about the most recent Gaza war initiated by hundreds, possibly thousands, of rockets fired into civilian towns, kibbutzim and metropolis city limits from ventral Tel Aviv to the furthest suburban neighborhoods of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Ashkelon, Netanya, Beer Sheba and others which without the shelters and Iron Dome would have murdered tens of thousands of Israelis. The hatred of Israel stems from the success in high tech fields such as cellphone Apps, computer protection software, cellphones, instant messaging and other blessings to computer users both industrial and personnal use. In agriculture Israel is a leader with drip irrigation, engineering crops to survive irrigation with a percentage of sea water and other high salinity, crops requiring less water than the same crop in other nations and numerous other agricultural breakthroughs. In medicine the advances and techniques which have benefited people worldwide especially with the Save a Child’s Heart (SACH). The advances in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and other hard and soft sciences are unimaginable and may explain why people think that Israel must be the size of the United States as they almost compete in advancements, Nobel Prizes in the Sciences, and Apps for cellphones as we mentioned but the honest truth is Israel is the size of New Jersey and close to one third is desert and largely sparsely populated.

 

The miracles make for spiteful hatred at Israeli successes and undeterred stand against the terror forces and the worldwide demonstrations and accusations as Israel will continue to be a Light to the Nations (Hebrew: אור לגויים) as was made evident after the Nepal earthquake, the Haiti earthquake, the disaster in the Philippines, the earthquake and tsunami hitting Japan and was the sole nation to immediately offer to send assistance to the United States after both Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Katrina and has offered assistance after earthquakes in Iran and Iraq and offered and delivered aid to the people of Turkey after their earthquake. Israeli disaster assistance is the equal of any other nation with the only exception possibly the United States where they are of comparable assistance though they outdid all in Nepal and had the first fully equipped and maned field hospital in Haiti much to the surprise of CNN and other news sources. This is the real Israel and is the Israel which never seems to matter to those who claim Israel is the worst nation with imperial designs on the Middle East and the world beyond. We can assure the world that Israel only desires to keep the areas in red in the first map in this article, that little strip about the size of New Jersey.

How Does Europe Define NGO in Israel and More?

 

Most people read news about some NGO making some claims or making accusations and their ears perk up and they assign extra special veracity to the words that follow the announcement that such-n-such groups, an NGO, claims that… No matter what nation the NGO calls home, the NGO is considered to be independent of any political bend and especially free of the foreign policy interests of any government because NGO stands for Non-Governmental-Organization. But perhaps this is not as pure as we have been led to believe as there are numerous NGOs which it turns out are paid agents for European nations and are used as the new twenty-first-century pirates who are sent on NGO raids of other nations seeking to find or provoke a situation which can be utilized to slander another nation, and if they can hit NGO pirating gold, perhaps even something presentable to an international court or be brought for one of those oh-so political lynching before the United Nations General Assembly where condemnations are all but automatic on any charges against certain “always guilty nations” or perhaps the United Nations Human Rights Council or, even better for elevating the paying nation’s international prestige, the charges can be filed by their NGO in their highest tribunal which has already applied to and received by the United Nations to hear and adjudicate human rights and war crimes charges and the whole cycle has come home and returned on their investment.

 

The obvious target of all the available culprits where presumed human rights are abused and there is no real, fair, just and uncorrupted judiciary where minorities are regularly seized out of their homes and executed after the briefest of trials and religious apartheid exists with factions in open warfare and every other conceivable injustice occurs daily deserving the targeting of the vast resources of the European governments both individually and through their combined financial resources funneled through the European Union in the Middle East, Africa or any other political hot spot is not Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, not North Korea and not even al-Qaeda, Hamas, ISIS, Hezballah, Boko Haram, Islamic Jihad or other terrorist entity; it is, let’s all say this together, Israel. The hot issue this week whose organizers deserved receiving roughly half a million euros from French government aid was Plateforme des ONG Françaises pour la Palestine (Platform of French NGOs for Palestine) efforts to break the internationally sanctioned and legal naval blockade of Gaza under the ever so original name of ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ which is expected to arrive any time this week. Never mind that Gaza receives every ounce of legal aid and even is permitted dual use building material of which it has been estimated that possibly a significant amount well exceeding half of the cements and other materials are confiscated by Hamas for their use in building infiltration tunnels with which to attack and murder Israelis and kidnap others to hold for ransom crossing a legally recognized border committing breaches and activities aimed at civilians all of which are acts of war. If the real reason of the ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ was to get desperately needed supplies to the people in Gaza, who admittedly could use building materials which would actually go to rebuilding their homes, stores and other damaged infrastructure resulting from repeated acts of war on the part of their existing governance of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other terrorist entities firing rockets, missiles and mortars upon Israeli civilians even to include striking Israel’s two largest metropolitan areas of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv requiring a military response to prevent further breaches of the peace, all that is required is for the aid to be delivered to any Israeli sea port where it would be inspected and all nonmilitary aid would be delivered within the following two to three days overland on any of the several tons of food, medical supplies, building materials and other approved aid withholding only those items deemed to be of a military nature and legally removed from any shipment.

 

It is almost needless to point out that these flotillas are not about getting supplies to the people of Gaza as was proven by the infamous Mavi Marmara flotilla where the lead ship attempted to run the blockade in order to ambush any IDF units used to intercept them and then be able to take film and still pictures with which to smear Israeli efforts requiring excessive violence on ‘innocent aid workers and human rights activists’ and then file them to be plastered on page one of every newspaper and film at the beginning of every news broadcast across the Western World thus presenting what the desire to claim are the brutalities committed by the Israeli military in the name of the government. These attempts by terrorists to instigate a fight and have the IDF inflict what would be presented as unnecessary violence went awry when the Israelis also arrived with cameras and shot the entire interdiction to show the world the edited out assaults initiating the actions which landed a number of both IDF and instigators in the hospital and resulted in nine terrorists who had assaulted the IDF soldiers using knives, pipes, bats and eventually small arms fire which immediately escalated the incident into an international incident where eventually the evidence from all sides was aired and the world was left to judge for themselves. Every single internationally sanctioned and recognized neutral investigations found fault on both sides but laid the blame for initiating the violence fell on the terrorist elements eventually identified as belong to IHH who boarded the ship at an unofficial stop subsequent to the filmed set-off in Turkey.

 

This newest effort is sailing the Mediterranean Sea and is anticipated to reach Israel once these participants have soaked up sufficient sun, fun and news cycles to fully show off the representatives of Human Rights NGOs, dignitaries, recognized public figures and the seemingly required member of the Israeli Knesset for that extra pinch of presumed righteousness, then they will head for Gaza to present their ‘aid for the starving masses and for rebuilding the destruction from last year’s conflict with Israel. Most of the ships making up the ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ will obey the instructions by the Israeli patrol boats and divert to drop off aid goods at Ashod, Haifa, Tel Aviv or whichever port has been prepared to receive and process the goods as rapidly as humanly possible. If form holds true, the aid packages will include food that has not been properly refrigerated or kept dry making it almost entirely unusable and medical supplies past their usable date but Israel will transfer it into Gaza where Hamas and the governing entities will simply leave it until it has to be disposed of before these useless supplies become a health hazard. That is exactly what became of the aid from the previous ‘Freedom Flotillas’ and their showcase deliveries. To be honest, most Israelis do not wish for a fight and would be more than happy if the aid actually was received by the Gazan people and any useful provisions are a benefit to them and Israel has even liberalized their permissible aid to include the very cement, rebar, wood, sheets of aluminum and other building supplies with which Hamas, Islamic Jihad et al are rebuilding the destroyed infiltration tunnels making improvements and enlarging them as well as digging new, deeper and longer ones which will have added rails for electric rail carts to get the raiding parties to the far end ready and still rested for their assaults in southern Israel and potentially beyond, just as the captured plans described when the tunnels were found and destroyed during Operation Protective Edge last summer.

 

The assault the Israelis spoiled when they found the tunnels during the ground operations included and had in place awaiting implementation of the plans during the Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur were motorcycles, manufactured IDF uniforms complete with patches and all identifying insignia, maps, weapons, ammunition, handcuffs, rope, drugs, syringes and supplies to outfit hundreds if not over a thousand infiltrators who could have committed mass murders and mass kidnappings mostly, as the plans indicated, from the neighboring towns and kibbutzim and even raid into Tel Aviv and Jerusalem which were to be carried out in much the same manner as the Mumbai, India assault where ten Pakistani terrorists landed near the Gateway to India Monument equipped with plastic explosives, grenades, hand guns, machine guns and other tools carrying out the worst and most lethal terrorist action in Indian history. The viciousness of the assault was exemplified by the horrific attack in the Chabad ‘Nariman House’ and the raid on the two of the main train stations and the international hotels as the terrorists continued murdering everybody they could on route to their eventual targets. The November 26, 2008 attack lasted four horrific and trying days before all the terrorists were killed with one, Ajmal Kasab, being captured and questioned by the Indian authorities seeking information on why one-hundred-seventy-nine people were killed and more than three-hundred were wounded . The estimated numbers who could have been murdered in a similar assault on Israel during the High Holidays with assaults planned to begin across the entirety of Israel coordinated for simultaneous explosions followed by the other operations including plans to assault numerous local synagogues and the main and largest synagogues in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and elsewhere included numbers so shocking as to be beyond belief and the confusion which could be entered into the equations with terrorists dressed as IDF soldiers giving spurious orders to a frightened public funneling them to set up terrorist locations where the people were likely to be murdered or taken hostage to be used in later negotiations which were unlikely to end with any acceptable results.

 

The ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ will most likely be using a similar modus operandi of the previous ‘Freedom Flotillas’ where a single selected ship staffed with instigators and terrorists who will be attempting to force a confrontation which can be filmed to be edited later to show the violence perpetrated on innocent individuals by presumed sadistic IDF Jews against simply human rights advocates which included women and other identifiable representatives of peace organizations who have volunteered to stand on the periphery in the hopes of being mistaken for one of those attacking the IDF and receive rough treatment. What these Flotilla planners are counting on is that the Israelis will attempt to use the minimalist amount of force required to divert the ship or ships attempting to break through the naval blockade which, may we remind all, has been investigated by the United Nations and the International Criminal Court (ICC) and passed muster as being a legal and properly applied blockade meeting or exceeding all the requirements of such an operation. These reviews noted that all legal aid is delivered in a timely manner and in as pristine a condition as it arrived after an efficient and speedy inspection for contraband such as arms as certain dual use materials such as those used for the production of explosives, weapons, ammunition, other munitions, rockets and the fuel to launch them and other recognized illegal substances. The rules under international law on enforcement of a recognized blockade is to attempt to intercede with the least necessary force to persuade the ship’s captain to divert and dock at an assigned port for inspection and offloading of aid which will be delivered afterwards and the use of force may escalate as the orders are ignored and efforts continue to cross the blockade line. There is no actual requirement for the enforcing forces, be they ships, aircraft or other units to actually attempt to board the offending ship to take control and sail it to an approved port. Should a ship persist in attempts to cross a blockaded port and pose a threat of breaking the enforcement it becomes legal to simply shoot the ship out of the water by any and all means as the enforcing fleet and military power at the scene, if that is perceived as the least dangerous alternative for their personnel. The enforcement rules under international law allow for the sinking of the offending vessel and do not require less destructive measures. A good example of the amount of force permissible by a legally blockading nation would be a study of the Cuban Missile Crisis where United States President Kennedy had given orders for any Russian vessel crossing the blockading ships were to be fired upon and sunk. The United States blockading forces included numerous destroyers, cruisers, aircraft and the vessels which came the closest to actually firing on the Russian lead ship had she not turned away with little room left before action was taken, a nice way as saying actions were imminent, were two attack submarines which already had entered their firing sequence into the ships attack computers and I believe one had even loaded and flooded their tubes in preparation to fire. It may have been the sonar reporting of such act which convinced the Russian captain to divert his ship and not continue his confrontation. That was amongst the closest the Cold War adversaries faced off which could have had dire and vastly different consequences. The ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ personnel, planners and ship captains have probably studied the previous attempts to break the blockade and are counting on Israel to interdict by placing her troops in harm’s way if that is what becomes necessary to prevent the blockade from being transgressed. There is also the option to demand a cursory check of the goods and if found not to contain anything banned to allow the ship to proceed to a port in Gaza. The difficulty there is the requirement for boarding once again, always a dangerous process where the boarding party are the force most vulnerable which was made exceedingly evident during the Mavi Marmara confrontation.

 

The backing of the ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ by the French government using one of their nationally supported and funded NGOs is indicative of a problem which Israel had some serious problems and is where any discussion about this situation of European governments, amongst others, directly or indirectly through NGOs whose main purpose is a form of money laundering where they receive funding directly from governments who may even have requested the funding be funneled directly to another NGO where the initial recipient of the funds uses a percentage or set handling fee to pay for their services and then they pass the funds along wither through another middle NGO or directly to the intended NGO all pending the amount of separation desired by the donating government where they pay for each level of separation. Where this system is sufficiently deceitful and underhanded manner for a government to mount subversive efforts to undermine the independence or functioning of another government they wish to target through using NGOs which are officially registered with the originating government, in Israel there is a second and far more sinister route being used, the support and funding, largely through the NGO the New Israel Fund (NIF) which in turn doles the funds for different activities and functioning of other NGOs operating within Israel. The devious part is that these majority or even completely foreign funded NGOs, some by outside individuals and others by the European Union or European governments as well as Arab and Muslim governments are registered as Israeli NGOs despite their almost entirely foreign funding sources. The Israel Parliament, the Knesset, has passed a series of bills to attempt to address this situation. These legislations have included such requirements that any NGO receiving a majority of their funding from outside Israel be required to register as a foreign NGO which would eliminate some of the tax exemptions, the requirement for all NGOs to report all foreign funding including funds from other NGOs which receive the majority of their funding from outside Israel, an attempt to make foreign funds granted to NGOs to taxation and a number of other requirements many of which the very nations funding these ‘Israeli’ NGOs themselves have enacted which would even go so far as to exile any NGO from their registry forcing them to register under the nation or one of the nations paying their funding requirements which, needless to point to, prevents Israel from returning the favor in kind by subverting NGOs operating in Europe under European registry. Every one of these legislations have been denounced by people on the left of the political scale as the NGOs most likely to be affected are the most liberal and often anti-Israel NGOs that operate as Israeli NGOs. These protestations have caused each of these laws to be nullified by the Israeli Supreme Court often claiming that they are discriminatory despite their being applicable to all NGOs operating in Israel and specifically to those registering as being Israeli NGOs operating licensed by the Israeli governing body which oversees NGOs, an overseeing body which has been hampered from taking any actions against these anti-Israel, anti-Zionist NGOs who perform the bidding of their paymasters from outside Israel still enjoying the apparent approval of the Israeli government. The actions of the Israel Supreme Court are not surprising as they have performed the actions of a blocking stone placed around the neck of every piece of legislation passed by the Knesset which the Supreme Court has set themselves up as an override proof veto machine and nowhere have they been more active than against nationalist and Zionist interests such as the problem with the foreign funded anti-Israel NGOs and also another major problem, the repatriation of illegal immigrants to their home nation even to include those that the United Nations and European Union have registered as facing no oppressions or even arrest and trial should they be returned to their nation of origin. The infiltrator problem, what the illegal immigrants have been named, has caused widespread lawlessness for many neighborhoods in southern Tel Aviv and other less well-off neighborhoods. When efforts have been made to expand the territory being invaded and potentially inflicted with this problem the wealthier neighborhoods have no difficulty in receiving law enforcement fast and expediently.

 

There was one effort which many found amusing as a member of the Knesset brought a number of these illegal immigrant families to enjoy some recreation at one of the public swimming pools in a wealthier Tel Aviv neighborhood. The people monitoring who were allowed to enter this ‘public swimming pool and recreation area’ made every effort to prevent the entry of these ‘other outsiders’ but were eventually forced to permit their entry. Within minutes of their entering this public area the most affluent found the atmosphere so threatened that they made a hasty retreat before being put in a position of sharing their environs with those such as these people who had been unfairly thrust into their formerly perceived protected public area. Such grandstanding only succeeded in making some ripples in the news over the ensuing week and then everything returned to normal and the criminal elements were still ignored and the residents of the afflicted neighborhoods almost require escort just to do their grocery shopping and going out after sunset is unthinkable, such is the reality the Supreme Court is forcing on these unfortunate people who have sufficient problems just making ends meet and who deserve better security in their neighborhoods but even law enforcement has been timid in imposing the law in such neighborhoods as they cannot be on every street corner, or so we have been informed.

 

Reform is going to be required on many fronts but Israel is a young nation still ironing out some of her deficiencies and rough spots. Israel is still on their first republic unlike some in Europe who have worked their way through five republics within their last two to three centuries or had coups which led to consequences for the entirety of Europe and beyond. For a relative newcomer to the world’s stage and facing probably one of the roughest of neighborhoods to make their debut and against all odds she remains standing and not about to throw in the towel no matter how many NGOs of foreign funding antagonize her soldiers and protest her duly elected government attempting to use bullying tactics as described in such playbooks as Rules for Radicals, the Communist Manifesto, Che Guevara’s A Revolutionary Life and many others. Books not read or not considered enlightened enough include the worldviews from Hobbes, John Locke, Adam Smith, David Hume, Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Denis Diderot, Immanuel Kant, George Berkeley, John Stuart Mill, Jeremy Bentham, Montesquieu with his separation of powers concept, and even Gulliver’s Travels author Jonathan Swift. The ‘Age of Reason’ which was also known as the Enlightenment brought a whole new manner of government where the common man was respected and was a capable individual who had learned much from the greatest of all teachers, the hardships and challenges of everyday survival from which we get this well-known phrase thanks to Friedrich Nietzsche (and an aside to Conan for making it known by the masses), “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” Let us hope that the ‘Freedom Flotilla III’ and all the incidents she may cause in the coming days only make us, all of us, stronger.

 

That is the one thing which I believe makes much of the world angered by Israel and turned to scorn and ridicule her is that as the Jewish State, Israel attempts to be better in their treatment and assistance to others, to honestly make a difference where it counts in the world and make it a better place by the actions of each and every individual Israeli. If Israel is capable of lifting up souls one at a time, then that is what she will endeavor to accomplish. Israel has a soul and a heart and these fill her with hope over fate, light over darkness, helping over pitying. This is evident in Israeli assistance to those suffering from a natural disaster such as was in Haiti, the Philippines, Japan and recently Nepal. Many Nepalese were perplexed by the Israeli response both to their needs and to locating every single Israeli known to be in Nepal. They noted we sent search and rescue along with medical teams to places even the Nepalese government does not visit. Israel continued the search even when there was but one Israeli not yet accounted for and then refused to leave after hearing of his death but instead mounted an expedition to locate, retrieve and bring his body home to be interred where his loved ones could know he rested, his mortality rested. It did not escape the Nepalese people that there were nations with hundreds and even thousands of people in Nepal who sent nobody to assist their own people, let alone the people of Nepal yet Israel tracked down and located every Israeli including the retrieval of the one fatality’s body and aided the people of Nepal remaining even after every Israeli had been accounted for; remaining plus sending a second team to relieve the initial assistance sent in order to provide until the emergency had ended and Nepal was as healthy and back on her feet as possible after such a disaster. Israel had the first operating fully equipped and staffed hospital in Haiti, built and equipped a clinic in a remote village where no such care was available and trained the villagers how to use the most useful equipment and eventually left the clinic and equipment in place and had even interested some medical personnel including some physicians to set up practices in the clinic. Israel had the most wonderful and beautiful of programs I have ever encountered anywhere with their Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) which is a non-profit organization based in Israel but reaching out to the world wherever there is a need leading to their being known worldwide for their commitment to saving lives by improving the quality of cardiac care for children from developing countries and creating centers of medical competence in these countries. They not only help finance and build departments in hospitals and entire hospitals where none exist and train the physicians in cardiac care for children leaving behind a self-sufficient group who is fully capable of providing the care to the people locally. Until such care is available locally they fly children from all nations, and they mean all nations even if to have that child cared for in Israel but the government does not recognize or particularly like Israel, they fly the family to a neutral nation and then to Israel without stamping their passport, provide the cardiac care and recovery and return them through the same neutral nation all because life is precious. You want a one phrase for Israel, try every single life matters. That is the basis for so much Israel does even in ways that are difficult to explain, but rest assured that all life is precious is still included in what Israel does and it shows quietly in her actions.
