Any Excuse to Postpone Action on Claiming All the Land

The excuses roll off the lips and out of the mouths of the leaders of the coalition one after the other. They make them sound so righteous and proper. We need to work with the Administration of President Trump. The security situation demands we wait as that takes precedent. The Prime Minister has determined this is not the time. The Europeans have demanded we reconsider. The stars are not aligned in favor currently. There are winds blowing for which we have to understand. Any port in a storm will do when it comes to postponing consideration of the Sovereignty Bill. Judea and Samaria, the Shomron, are to continue to be Jewish killing fields and our leaders are refusing to extend protection of Israeli law and instead leave the area under military rule which has proven so insufficient, especially since the disastrous Oslo Accords. What is strange is even the Romans under Herod’s rule over the Jews included not only the Shomron but lands east of the Jordan River as belonging to the Jews of the First Century (see map below). The Sovereignty Bill is the Israeli answer to actually just agree with Mahmoud Abbas that the Oslo Accords are dead. They should have been declared dead when the Second Intifada broke out. They should have been declared dead when the Stabbing Intifada broke out. And they certainly should have been declared dead after the recent implosion of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the expletive strewn tirade by Mahmoud Abbas declaring relations with the United States, President Trump, Israel and whomever else he blamed for his failings screeched forth from Nablus. Truth be told, the Oslo Accords were stillborn as the reason behind this deceit was to fool the ready to be duped Israelis, specifically the peace loving Jews, into believing they actually had partners for peace and instead were bringing vipers to their bare chests. Still, it is way past time that Israel took the necessary steps to annex all the areas currently having Israeli citizens and their neighborhoods, cities and industrial parks. Finally, we need consider ending the Oslo farce and taking the steps which were legal and expected after the Six Day War and reclaim all the lands west of the Jordan and let the world howl for as long as they please, and here is how to accomplish that and why.

Roman Lands for Jews Under Herod in the First Century

Roman Lands for Jews Under Herod in the First Century

The asps in question were Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas and their PLO which once renamed the Palestinian Authority was presumed to end their terror war on Israel. Well, how many deaths and acts of terror does it take before we admit that there has been no change, they are still just terrorists and we have no partner for peace, just those who wish to murder us in our beds (Fogel Family), on our streets (Rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal HY”d and so many others), in our synagogues (Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue) using weapons of every variety and even ramming us with vehicles. This is the language they are taught in their schools, heard on their televisions and radios, lauded with the naming of streets, parks, camps, schools and Mosques and directed all from the headquarters in Ramallah of the presumed peace partners. Their leaders admit freely that there are no such people as the Palestinians and they are but a construct for murdering Jews and Zionists and later the Americans and Europeans. The world should be clamoring for the Israeli leadership to annex the totality of the lands west of the Jordan and deporting the Palestinian Authority threat and menace, sending the leadership and all its aiders and abettors back to Tunis from whence they came or sending them to Syria, Iran or whomever is willing to take them. They have proven their deceits and no longer serve any constructive purpose, but until the leadership, starting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, take the initiative and extend the rule of law to every Israel community of citizens, then the blame for any more terror lies with them as well as the PA terror masters.

The reality of the situation is that given the opportunity to leave the area ruled under autonomy by the PA, the Arab residents would leave of their own volition if not for the fact that doing so is punishable by death. Oh no, there is no law to point to, just that the Arabs know that this is what Arafat had ordered and that Abbas is no different except he dresses well. They have all seen the gruesome reality of people lynched and left hanging from cranes in village squares or shot in groups as done by Hamas in 2014 responding to allegations of their collaborating with Israel during the Gaza war as a warning to all, do not even consider leaving or cooperating with the Jews. That is the reason that the Palestinian Authority and its entire security apparatus must be dissolved and prevented from any continuing influence. Only then can the Arabs residing in the areas they currently control with iron-fisted subjugation be free to act in their own best interests.

Once the area has been pacified and freed from the PA oppressors, then Israel can offer to buy any properties at twice appraised value along with additional funding for relocation allowance for any non-Jew who desires to relocate outside the area of Israel which would then include all the lands promised under the San Remo Conference and the Mandate System which entitled Israel to the lands west of the Jordan River. Israel has made an offer to the illegal African migrants who came seeking jobs and not refugee status or asylum that should they leave by the end of March, they will be given $3,500, along with airfare and other incentives. Certainly, an even more generous offer could be offered to the Arabs and other non-Jews, even including Israeli citizens who are unhappy living in Israel, to have them relocate with the understanding that their move from Israel will be permanent and return will not be permitted. As far as airfare, that would need to include a pair of tickets if their relocation were to an Arab nation which does not permit flights from Israel. Of course, if the chosen destination were Jordan, no airfare would be required, simply ground transportation for them and their household goods. All of those accepting such an offer would be permitted a certain size container for personal household belongings they wish to take with them and anything beyond the allotted size would need be at their expense. The Arabs from the PA who desire remaining residing in Israel would be granted resident alien status which allows them every privilege of residence but does not permit their having political rights such as voting in national elections or regional elections. Certainly if a town or city was predominantly Arabs, who were once under the PA, like Nablus or Bethlehem, these resident aliens would be permitted to vote in their city elections. Cities like Hevron would need to be considered with specifics put in place, as there exists both Arabs from the PA and Jews residing in the city and some meeting of the two would be required. Hevron could not remain a divided city as such does not function well as coordination will always be a problem. There will be certain difficulties resulting from this change but there will be ways of handling almost any situation.

Once Israeli law has been extended to the entirety of the area, there would be a simple understanding that terrorism would not be tolerated and any act of terror would be dealt with severely. There would need be a system by which any terrorist having attempted or successfully committed an act of terror would, after serving their court assigned sentence in prison, would then be deported and their attempt to return would result in another prison sentence and again deportation. Also, the family of a terrorist would potentially face deportation if it became known that they knew of their dependent child’s intent to commit an act of terror and they had not informed authorities, they would also face deportation. Where such may sound harsh, Israel has suffered more than its share of terrorist acts and would already have made a generous offer for people unhappy with Israeli rule to leave with much financial assistance, any who remain must be expected to refrain from violence, especially terrorist violence. The driving force behind these actions was two-fold, first the false offer of peace by the PA leadership and second their use of terror as their weapon to destroy Israel and murder Jews proved their anti-Israel, anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic driving emotions and for these and their being steeped in terror was the entire reason for the deportation of the PA leadership and security force and the offer to permit those desiring to reside other than under Israeli rule of law a generous package to get them started elsewhere. After such generosity, Israel has every right to expect those remaining to live under Israeli law and to do so peaceably. Any other nation in the world would not deport or offer generous relocations bonuses but would instead hold trials for those behind the terrorism with stiff sentences even to include the death penalty where appropriate and deportation as a minimal sentence without any relocation bonus. Further, for those desiring leaving, they would be permitted by other nations without even the offer to buy their property. They would basically be invited to use the door and not let it strike their backsides on their way out. That is the reality in the majority of the world and Israel is likely one of the few if not the only to offer illegal immigrants financial aid to relocate provided they do so within a set time period and did so voluntarily or they can ignore the warnings and be arrested and deported without any bonus. That is theirs to choose and is far better a choice than the United States even provides. Those nations who allow airfare to their originating nation and not just dumping them over the border they crossed on entrance are considered generous; Israel is being attacked for her generosity. That is simply proof that there are those, especially when it comes to Israel, who would not be satisfied with a loaf of bread under each arm. Simply put, they would never permit Israel any credit no matter how exemplary the Israeli actions. We call those in all too many cases, NGO’s.

Israel and the Netanyahu-Trump Effect

There was hope across the growing Zionist public spanning Israel when Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the United States elections. There was hope that finally the Israeli government would be freed to act as they had promised. The end of President Obama and his opposition to Israel claiming dominion over land legally theirs under International Law was seen as the dream of a promise realized. The “settlers” would finally be permitted to be brought under Israeli law and the end of Jordanian rule in Judea and Samaria and most definitely the Temple Mount. Finally Israel would be freed from the opposition and constraints imposed by President Obama, the United States State Department and could finally ignore the European Union and its venomous spitefulness. Prime Minister Netanyahu could finally make good on all his promises to extend Israeli law to Judea and Samaria allowing Arabs to sell land to Jews and ending the dictatorial oppressive rule by Mahmoud Abbas. Israel could bring the remainder of our land under public rule ending the military occupation of our own lands granting full civil, property and economic freedoms and liberate these areas from military rule. Civilian police would soon be empowered and there could be real election under Israeli and international supervision which would guarantee the end of Fatah and the Palestinian Authority death grip over the Arab populations. The end of the Palestinian Authority and the empowerment and economic development which would follow such an extending of civil rule replacing military rule and would soon change the entire emotional realities as the graft and theft of resources by their governance would be reduced hopefully soon to negligible to completely nonexistent. This was the dream viewed by many once Donald Trump assumed the Presidency and the Israeli government would be free to act on its Zionist imperatives.

Something went horrifically wrong and the signs were strong and immediate. What was terrifying is that none of these horrific events originated in the United States. From the Administration of President Donald Trump we received the best announcement with which to launch such as the expected Zionist actions from the Israeli leadership. President Trump stated his immediate intent to move the United States embassy to Jerusalem. Here it was, the opportunity of their lifetimes and they dropped the ball, almost every last one dropped the ball and then kicked the ball out into the Mediterranean and back into Trump’s face. The immediate hemming and hawing if not outright rejection, as one Minister of the government reacted, of the announcement of the intent to move the embassy was outright embarrassing. What should have had people out in the streets celebrating with our leaders out in front of the parades instead had our government leadership hanging their heads slowly shaking them mumbling things like, “I don’t know about this embassy move” or “we had better check with the Arabs and see what they think” and “well, this is kind of sudden and we need time to think” or finally, “we should not take this as an indication that Trump will be helpful or do anything that might be risky.”

There would be no parades or street celebrations because our leadership is suffering a terminal case of Stockholm Syndrome. They have yet to recover from their shell-shocked barraged existence not only for the past eight years but since 1967 when the government did not act and declare our return to our rightful homelands and annex all of Judea and Samaria right after the Six Day War. International Law backed our doing so then and still applies as these are our lands, have always been our lands even when Jordan illegally occupied and militarily held them, and especially now that we had liberated them from that occupation. Had Ehud Olmert as Prime Minister acted in such a manner, or even Golda Meir after him, then Israel would not have faced the ever growing demands from the rest of the world to sign away our rights to our ancient homelands. We should have understood that the world was going to fight to steal our lands and deny us that on which our history played out. The problem the world has faced has been one simply truth, it is land which rightfully belongs to Israel and only to Israel with the only exception being if Israel can be forced to sign these lands away. We will watch as George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice are lionized going down in history as amongst the greatest of world leaders as they dazzled Israel with promises of grand support and baffled us with promissory notes supporting our rights getting Ariel Sharon to rearrange his entire government forming a new coalition and sliding, nay, breaking every rule of forming a coalition in the middle of a term without holding elections and finished the deal with the Prince of Crawford giving away the Gaza Strip. We all have witnessed how well that has turned out and learned the exact worth of all the promissory notes, letters, words and smooth talking of Condoleezza cooing in Ariel’s ear a pleasant song of misdirection. Now we have taken the approach of mowing the Hamas sawgrass every few years and now we are actually thinking of repeating this mistake.

With great effort Netanyahu, with a huge assist from Lieberman and the not so loyal opposition, forced President Trump to now be rethinking moving the embassy and has spoken the words “two state solution” and all this after taking his first step towards allowing Israel to realize every Zionist dream. We have turned an American President from a Zionist supporting friend into a puzzled and retreating American President rubbing a bruise over his offer to move the embassy to Jerusalem delivered not from Abbas but from Netanyahu and Lieberman and fellow travelers. The most right wing government in Israeli history, or at least that has been the accusation, has become the government which turned the tide of victory back into defeat. In a single month they turned a pro-Zionist Washington into a repeat of any normative Washington reserved and wary of pushing anything which might be too pro-Israel because taking such a road appears to upset the Israeli government. We bet Mahmoud Abbas is laughing and was Trump’s best friend during their phone call during which resulted in Trump inviting Abbas “to visit the White House soon to discuss ways to resume the (Palestinian-Israeli) political process,” according to official Arab-Palestinian news agency Wafa quoted Abbas’s spokesman. This turn around forced not by trickery or smooth talking and threats from the Arab world but by buffoonery and rejectionism of the best offer of friendliness Israeli leadership was ever going to receive from Washington. We took promises of freedom to act and perform that which we felt necessary with the greatest leeway imaginable and threw it back in President Trump’s face screaming how dare you make us so vulnerable to the hatred of Europeans and the Arabs and maybe even infuriating Iran making things dangerous. News flash, this rejection of a hand extended in sincerity offering to assist us in building a single nation with a Jewish majority and possibly having a large number of legal resident aliens who may have been offered Jordanian citizenship or resident aliens without a country at worst. Why worry about the rest of the world as with the full support of Washington for the next four years minimally we could have outlasted the ire of the world which would have died down within two or three years at the longest. Now we will take those same two or three years even to get to the point where President Trump will feel comfortable with moving the embassy to Jerusalem but apparently he will be doing so against the will of any Netanyahu governance as now Netanyahu has discovered that Iran does not like Israel and until that is settled he cannot be bothered with any Judea and Samaria talk.

President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu

President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu

Yes, you read that correctly, Iran might not love Israel. This is something that has just taken seat one on the Prime Minister’s mind. Nothing else can be countenanced for discussion until this problem is resolved. Don’t talk crazy about embassies and moving them to Jerusalem, worry that Iran might target Jerusalem some day. Annexing Judea and Samaria or even just Area C which Oslo Accords awarded to Israel and do not even bother mentioning annexing the largest and closest settlement blocs as right now we must all think Iran, Iran and only Iran. That is the message the Prime Minister’s Security Cabinet was given. When one member began to mention “Judea” he never got the following words out, they might have been “and Samaria” but we will never know because he was met with the glare from the eyes before the head even turned which froze his lips right there. That was the end of discussions of Judea, Samaria, Embassy to Jerusalem, Trump as our best friend, Trump as our best opportunity, even discussing the plans for developing the Galilee which is already presumably in the works and it had best continue on its own as Netanyahu has Iran Fixation!

Iran Fixation is a rare disease brought on by the opportunity to do whatever we desire within our Internationally legal borders which allows for the head of the government to continue enjoying traveling to any nation in Europe and enjoying the high society soirees with his wife while never hearing the mention in Europe or at home of Judea and Samaria or Jerusalem. Iran Fixation allows one to have a ready excuse for any and everything which anybody might want to raise as an issue as under Iran Fixation the answer to every question is, “Iran is the number one threat and has our entire attention right now as it should be and ‘whatever the questioner asked’ cannot take the government away from the Iranian threat.” This Iran Fixation would necessarily end all discussion of anything other than Iran and how to ready the military to face this Iranian Fixation, theirs and the Prime Minister’s as they keep chanting “Death to Israel” and he keeps chanting, “Iran threat.” So, our fellow Zionists, we have bad news and it begins with the words, “Iran Fixation” and ends with the words, “Prime Minister Netanyahu.” Somewhere in there is the plea that we manage to survive this bout of Iran Fixation which is plaguing our Prime Minister and his government. Iran Fixation is paralyzing our government from taking actions which would have been proudly and gladly backed by the United States under President Donald Trump. The unfortunate thing was when President Trump entered office and exclaimed his intent for moving the United States embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, not just to Peta Tikva, but all the way through Peta Tikva onto Jerusalem, he was met by the Israeli Defense Minister declaring that Israel must take great care not to push Washington too far” which he could only have meant that Israel hold back Washington from being too much an unhindered friend for Israel and guard Washington from itself by keeping the present restraints in place and the Prime Minister screaming that first we need to talk about Iran. We can only imagine the conversation between President Trump and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu when they met in the White House for their first face-to-face. Trump asked, “How soon can we move the embassy to Jerusalem?” and Netanyahu answered, “As soon as we solve Iran.” So Trump queried, “How soon can we advance the settlements?” and Netanyahu answered, “As soon as we solve Iran.” Starting to worry, Trump cautiously advanced, “How soon should the United States make Abbas hold real elections?” and Netanyahu answered, “As soon as we solve Iran.” Finally, in complete exasperation after over an hour of Netanyahu answering, “As soon as we solve Iran,” Trump asked, “Should we go and meet the media waiting outside?” and Netanyahu answered, “As soon as we solve Iran.” Somehow Trump wrestled Netanyahu out of the Oval Office and demanded he stop saying, “As soon as we solve Iran;” so they could hold their photo op and press meet. Fortunately Netanyahu managed to say more than, “As soon as we solve Iran.” Unfortunately he has returned to stating as an answer to everything, “As soon as we solve Iran.” And his Iran Fixation simply will have to pass with time and hopefully he will recover before Trump leaves office or Netanyahu may find himself leaving office.

Truth of Many Settlement Building Announcements

We hear so many explosive and purely emotional denunciations of Israeli plans, taking bids, deciding on finalists in bidding process, awarding of bid to build, initial surveying of area where homes are planned, bricks and cement are bought, then moved to the location and finally ground is broke to build, first families move in, more families move in and these families are happy and having children, also called making new settlers. At any point in the two to five year series of decisions, filings, bids, and an unbelievable amount of minutia take place so at any point along the line the last event or next event is dated to within three weeks more often than not. This means that at any point in time there can be an announcement concerning the building of settlements and a single construction could be used as many as ten or twenty or maybe even fifty times along its multi-year development, financing and finally ground breaking and actual Israelis moving in. So what, you are saying. Each is an opportunity to rev up demonstrations across Israel, Europe and campuses across the United States denouncing Israel for their dastardly deeds of building affordable housing for Jews.

Here is a dirty little secret the leftist, anti-Zionist, post-Modernist, secular Israelis who find the Jewish faith an outdated anathema and view the political right, which includes many religious and Zionist parties, as the enemy far more dangerous than the Arab and Islamic threats Israel faces. Just as in the United States, the Israeli leftists desire complete control and believe that those who do not support their socialist, anti-capitalist, pro-diversity and anti-Jewish State or do not support their view of Israel as a multi-ethnic, diverse, secular state are not only their political enemies but also as an evil group who desire the end of the world. They believe that religion is an outdated notion which needs to be crushed and thrown in the waste bin of history and their enlightened secular socialist view where they are granted universal power to enact their perfect society where they as our betters are obviously granted complete power. These are the people who make up much of the government working force, if not in actuality, at least sympathetic to these views and willing to support those who are pressing such using their power within the government. These individuals actually work against any conservative or nationalist governance ever elected because they were elected by those uneducated, religious bigots.

Thus whenever releasing news about building new homes, it matters not which stage, just anything which they can make into a press release which may embarrass the sitting government, and they push building homes beyond the Green Line into the storyline for the next day’s releases. Should releasing such information occur at the worst possible time, they release as many stories as they can find. This is what occurred during Vice President Biden’s visit almost a decade ago, in 2010, when the media reported that bids had been accepted. Bids had been accepted is not building homes, but Haaretz and following on in the leftist European media and on to the United States would carry the story and from there President Obama demanded blood as building during Biden’s visit was an offense demanding revenge. The Prime Minister is not able to prevent these announcements nor are the leftist media taking even the slightest of steps in the process used to destroy relations between Israel and the world. These attacks will continue for as long as the left is not in power and when they are in power they close down all building processes as their belief is that Israel should be a multi-cultural democracy where the Jews may not be a majority and might have to reside under Islamic rule. They firmly believe that even if Mahmoud Abbas were to become Prime Minister that the law would prevent him from persecuting Jews or anybody else because everybody has rights by law in Israel. For some reason most Israelis find such belief to be preposterously beyond belief for any thinking man, but then the left feel things and rarely think, especially when anything disagrees with their Pollyannish view that all of mankind are sweet, loveable, cuddly multi-culturalists who love all their fellow people. Their rose colored glasses make seeing anything which counters this impossible.

Israeli Flag

Israeli Flag

There is a single-mindedness by the Israeli extreme left which parallels that of the extreme left in the United States in that the Israeli left views Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government as the real enemy just as the left on the other side of the pond view President Trump and the Republican Congress as the real enemy of the state. In both cases there is nothing considered to be beyond the pale in achieving the goal of bringing down the government in power. In both cases there is an element of the left imbedded in the government bureaucracy itself which supports this internal form of revolution and are willing to disrupt smooth government function in order to attain their goal. In Israel this often comes in the form of making as many public announcements of even the slightest progress in the rather complicated and overly intense series of steps required to build even the most necessary of structures beyond the Green Line. Many of these steps were required during left wing governments from almost twenty years previous. These additional steps were required in order to allow these governments to restrict building by slowing approvals at each and every step along the winding route. Now this same long and winding set of requirements allows maximum announcements of approvals at every stage which are immediately met with leftist outrage in Israel, then Europe and then the United Nations and beyond around the rest of the world.

This ridiculous announcing the seemingly endless number of approvals step by intolerable step leading to a coordinated series of demonstrations by leftists world-wide brought about to place Israel and her building in what are referred to as settlements under the greatest scrutiny that President Trump may have been referring to when he inferred to Prime Minister Netanyahu that Israel should simply shut up and build and end these incessant announcements which open Israel to attacks and unnecessary censor by many world bodies. One can only guess at how Prime Minister Netanyahu felt knowing that he has little ability to prevent these unending series of announcements unless he is capable of streamlining the procedure thus not allowing for announcements at so many steps of the overly complicated procedure currently in place. That bring us to an old problem in that should the Knesset pass legislation streamlining the operational procedure for building beyond the Green Line, it is inevitable that leftist NGO’s, many financed almost entirely by the European Union and other European national governments, would take the passed legislation to the Supreme Court where it is quite likely to be overturned. The only good news is that there are steps being taken which could end the leftist monopoly of the Supreme Court and Attorney General’s Office as there is a religious Zionist in place as the Minister of Justice who is enacting changes currently. There is hope but only if the elected government presses that they should be the ones holding the ultimate power and not the unelected Supreme Court. If Israel is fortunate, the Supreme Court will be brought within the control and future appointments will be made by elected officials and not by a self-perpetuated fiefdom which was until of late under monopoly of the left. Such, contrary to the screaming by the European left, would be a victory of democracy as it would empower the people. The European left fears the Israeli people and prefers for the Tel Aviv elites to hold all the power and not the rabble from the periphery. The periphery is rising and now outnumbers the Tel Aviv and its suburban elites and they are realizing their power and will revel in making Israel their own. The Zionist heart is beating and healthy and Israel can only benefit in the long run even if it will be accomplished while European leftist protest gleefully but ineffectively. Now if we can just empower President Trump to ignore our leftists as he is doing at home. Fortunately, that should be an easy proposition when we finally manage quiet here in Israel.
