If a story is never reported, did it still happen? That has become a question I have asked myself every single day almost without exception. You see I feel the pain in my own way every time I find the report in some lesser known news agencies and through word of mouth. That is also something nobody ever really reports about in Israel, news travels in numerous quiet channels reaching every corner of the land despite the little inconvenience that these events rarely make it onto the pages of Haaretz as it would break their story line which paints all the heartache and suffering as solely belonging to the Arabs and seldom the Jews living here. Fortunately in Israel we get other reports in newspapers and online reporting which tells a far different story. The reality for those who care to understand the truth is a very different reality than the happy; everything is just fine just as long as the silence is seldom broken. But the truth, the reality is that there is a reason that whenever an Arab is injured, be it by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Israeli Border Police or any of the several local police departments and other security agents, it makes the news in virtually every news source within and outside of Israel and when an Israeli Jew is similarly injured it barely gets any mention often any further than a local report within Israel as a local story, one event is rare and the other happens multiple times every day. The lack of coverage by the major news agencies is the unfortunate fact that Israelis being assaulted only makes the news when a new type of terror attack breaks onto the scene and within a few days, weeks at most, when it becomes just another way that Israelis are attacked, maimed or even murdered, it is no longer news. When the injury is to an Arab, especially if it appears to be unprovoked or is blown up into an international crime of the century by the media manipulators, that is a story because it fits the evil oppressive occupier Israel as the murderer of innocents and it makes headlines around the world. When such attacks are subsequently found to be, as they often are, a case of an attempted terror attack which was unsuccessful and the Arab was injured or killed in the act of attempting a stabbing or was throwing Molotov firebombs or large rocks at motorists, the follow-up story is seldom plastered on headlines as that is not the preferred story, the reality the media desires to paint.

There are reports in the small news outlets, often what would be referred to as the Zionist news sources as if that makes their coverage unimportant as it has a message it wishes to convey as if the rest of the media could never be selling the world a story, a completely opposite story, almost every day of the week where an Israeli motorist was almost murdered except for what often has all the makings of a miracle as their vehicle was attacked, ambushed by a mob of Arabs, often referred to as Palestinians, hurling rocks ranging in size from bricks to bowling ball to cinderblock sizes and even larger which smashed through the Israeli motorists windshield and cause the vehicle massive damage sufficient to prevent it being drivable yet miraculously the vehicle managed to reach safety before completely failing as if collapsing from some horrific ordeal where the vehicle continued just far enough where its unexplainable efforts gave out. Those of us who are familiar with these events do not need pictures as we saw some of the initial coverage when these attacks first became news and realize that almost any recounting will sound incredible and as if exaggerated but often fall short of the actual events as the victim of such attacks often are more amazed and are more aware of their escape as if protected by some outside force gave them and their vehicle a helping hand, the helping hand often seen influencing events and their outcomes. News sources are not interested in the rock ambushes unless there is a gripping instance which makes such an attack noteworthy. Unfortunately that noteworthy news item is all too often a murdered Israeli family member and sometimes all the occupants of vehicles so attacked whose murder tears apart the rest of the family who were often in a vehicle which escaped ambush or were waiting for their family to return from an outing or from a religious observance. It is unfortunate that this is what it takes for such attacks to gain coverage but unless there are such tragedies such attacks happen multiple times every day. Some of these ambush attacks take place daily or weekly triggered by the knowledge that there will be numerous Jewish Israelis who by necessity must run these gauntlets past particular Arab towns. These rock attacks have become a part of living in Israel as a Jew or others who get caught up in such attacks, such non-news stories as the media has come to accept these events as the new normal.

Rock ambushes of Israeli motorists are not the only assaults which have become so common as to be considered not to be newsworthy. Rioting and throwing rocks, fireworks (the way incendiary and smaller explosive devices are referred to by Haaretz and others back when these were news items instead of the new normal) Molotov firebombs, pipe bombs and other devices at the security and police forces assigned to contain the violence on the Temple Mount face whenever the Arabs are dispatched to turn up the heat on Israeli forces often hoping to produce a news story. I know there are those out there right now seeing the Arab desire for generating a news story through an event which the news refuse to cover as these events have become, for the most part, no longer newsworthy. That is true unless one of the Arabs is injured by the anti-riot crowd dispersal devices used when such disturbances become overly threatening and dangerous and must be curtailed. Such devices include tear gas, rubber bullets, flash-bang grenades and other nonlethal methods which on occasion do cause a serious injury to an Arab which is then magnified and inflated into a tragic story of an innocent being set upon by Israeli thuggish police tactics simply used to harass Arabs and even injuring innocent Arabs who had not committed any act which warranted such a response such as what caused their injury. The mainstream media just eat these stories taking them whole swallowing the entire false narrative hook, line and sinker. Now there is something to report, an Arab was injured during rioting, who was rioting is never mentioned as these riots are not newsworthy and thus are a minor part of the story having little if any relevance to the injury of this innocent individual. Their being injured by rubber bullets fired at them as they were in the act of hurling a firebomb at the security forces on the Temple Mount is irrelevant. What is relevant is how this poor, innocent Arab was injured by Israeli police while he was attending religious observances on the grounds of the al-Aqsa Mosque (meaning anywhere within a couple of miles of the Temple Mount). It will never be mentioned that this particular religious observance was the after Friday prayers riot which is scheduled for most weeks for months on end which went unreported as only Israelis were injured even a Shin Bet officer requiring emergency room hospital treatment was unimportant but an Arab youth (any Arab under age thirty or so) was grievously injured (a serious bruise) requiring emergency medical treatment at the scene and follow-up treatment by Palestinian medical services (a Band-Aid at the scene replaced with a full forearm bandaging and arm-sling in case any reporter desires pictures) and will be followed up with a full press report possibly with the Arab youth who was injured who might answer the medias’ questions. If such follow-up press release will have the Arab youth appearing now in a wheelchair and sobbing when asked to retell what happened making this event another production of Pallywood Productions. These scheduled riots are often accompanied by their own media stringers armed with cameras varying from cellphones all the way to production quality video equipment all for the use by the media should any reactions from the assaulted IDF or other Israeli forces such as Border Police react with what can be shown to be using excess force against Arab simply protesting peaceably not acting in any manner that warranted such a response. The rock and firebomb throwing is always omitted from such coverage and the story is of an unprovoked Israeli heavy-handed response. These propaganda films and other use of Israelis having to use force to prevent harm to Israeli farms and the Israelis tending their property are sold complete with story to the media and are often taken without any fact-checking accepting at face value what they are told. The mainstream media, particularly the European media, are fully complaisant and freely act as agents for these fabrications, and all are aware that these reports are almost entirely fabrications fully edited for the required story line, the exact sort of editing which would be performed by the European media. Proof of such fabrications being performed by the European Media has become the now infamous al-Dura hoax as reported upon here and here.

Apart from these vehicle ambushes and the rioting, especially the rioting on the Temple mount which can be turned on and off simply by use of the sermons disseminating instructions on whether to riot or not any particular Friday especially and any day through Imams and other channels, there are other forms of violence which are seldom if ever reported upon. We seldom here outside of Israel, especially in the United States where anything other than the peace process or Arab victimization is relegated to the ash heap of forgotten or old news. There are at least two or three attempts to assault IDF, Border Police and Shin Bet officers and enlisted troops using knives or steel rods weekly. Most of these assaults are interceded and foiled before they are able to actually attack; such events really makes it into the no story to see here area and are almost invariably ignored, while some successfully injure an IDF or Border Police officer before being subdued almost exclusively through non-injurious means utilizing hand to hand combat techniques, another nonstory the media does not report. Knife attacks even on civilians rarely make news outside of Israel as don’t gang attacks of groups of young Arabs will set upon Haredi youths often waiting lying in ambush in the evening on routs often taken from studies to residences as such routes are well known. Even when such attacks include bladed and concussion style weapons resulting in blunt force traumas and bleeding wounds which often require hospital treatment and even overnight care in case of concussions. If these assaults were to be committed in the opposite direction having Haredi youths waiting in ambush to assault the Arab youths, that would be newsworthy as it would be a rare event and it also fits the narrative of the evil and violent Israelis victimizing the innocent Arabs.

The most recent strain of attacks which briefly made news a few months ago when they first appeared and have since dropped from view as they are considered old news as if the injuring of Israelis by running them over with a vehicle is not in and of itself newsworthy and only if the way in which one is injured and its newness quality is what makes such attacks newsworthy is not only a terribly cynical and slanted view on what makes news but also reeks of an anti-Semitic quality of the reporting. Possibly if the Israelis were to hold a rally and have over one million Israelis attend would the story become newsworthy. These attacks using cars and small trucks as extremely large caliber weapons speeding into crowds of Israelis waiting for busses or trains and other places where Jews might congregate have become nearly a daily affair with at least one such assault a day. These are horrific attacks often landing a number of Israelis, including Jews, Muslims, Arabs and Christians as all kinds of Israelis utilize the busses and trains. Often these attacks will target a series of groups on a route where one driver, usually Arab, will attempt to run over the people all along their morning commute choosing the bus stops where more than a dozen people are huddled. Other times these type of attacks strike at night. There is no telling when such an attack might strike at people waiting for transportation by mass transit. Below is a short video of an attack from a couple of nights back caught on a surveillance camera which happens to cover the intersection from a distance. One needs to view the clip carefully as the attack occurs at the right side of the intersection just under the pine tree. The darker vehicle which speeds very fast across the intersection is the vehicle which struck the four sixteen year old boys slightly hurting three and seriously injuring the fourth who remains in hospital as of this writing. As stated, it may take several run-throughs before you catch the teens having been struck, one rolls well into the cross street, we suspect he was the seriously injured young man. Please spread the video as such attacks must be made known to the world just as any undue violence against anybody, Jews, Arab, Hindu, Ukrainian, Russian, French, anyone. Until we as a people, as people on this small little rock learn to share the injuries of every victim of violence and raise our complaint, then who are we, and if not to yell about the violence now, then when. If you feel the pain that these youths felt when struck by a speeding vehicle, then you need to tell others, yell about it from the mountaintops, from YouTube, from every platform we can find, real world or in cyberspace. We need to stand for the innocents caught in senseless violence as we are all just one terror attack from becoming the next person hurt, the next life destroyed, the next person left lying in the street too hurt to even stand and limp off the road where I would be safer, even too weak to plead and shout out to the world, I am in pain from some lunatic who believed my death would empower them. They must not be allowed to claim their victory over my mangled body; they must not be permitted to celebrate their craven act; their terrorist attempt to murder somebody’s special child screams for justice. Shout so they can be heard; share so they will be known; help them not to be just another statistic; just share the video and explain this hatred that struck them with their vehicle; share and prove they can reach out from the hospital where they lie injured and in pain and yet able to reach so many. Perhaps that will be my victory over the senseless violence perpetrated upon us, yes, that will dull our pain, thanks to those who cared and shared.

Hamas Replacing Palestinian Authority Through Terror War

The immediate response when told that Hamas is the future of the Palestinian efforts to destroy Israel is people ask if you have missed the news that Hamas was dissolved and that the Palestinian Authority won and has taken their position as the leaders of all of the Palestinian Arabs, both the West Bank, actually named Judea and Samaria, and Gaza in a unity government with Mahmoud Abbas at its head. That is what the news has reported but then again that same news claims that Israel started the last Gaza War despite the abduction and murder of three Israeli teens by Hamas terrorists followed by two weeks of accelerating rockets raining on Israeli communities before Israel fired a single shot. But don’t trouble the news media with trivial facts as they would only serve to confuse them. So, rather than write more letters to the editor, why don’t we share some facts about the premature announcement of the death of Hamas. The story starts about a year ago when the Egyptians destroyed unbelievable numbers of smuggling tunnels which Hamas had taxed to provide them with their operational budgets. Hamas had much of its terror financing provided by Iran and Qatar but still had the operational budget to cover their governance of Gaza. It was that operational budget which put Hamas into a bind from which it had no escape, so they decided to simply surrender and gift the Palestinian Authority with the burden of ruling and managing the day to day governance of Gaza. This also placed the numerous months of unpaid salaries for Gaza government employees before Mahmoud Abbas and the new unity government. Freed from having to govern and provide for Gaza, Hamas immediately turned to what it does best, attacking Israel and committing terrorist offensives all in the name of Allah and being financed and supplied and even oft times directed and managed by Iran and Qatar. So now the Palestinian Authority gets to run the day to day drudgery of managing the entirety of the Palestinian Arab population including meeting salaries of excessively over-bloated government heavily tilted to security and police forces as it also must provide for the Fatah terrorist arms.

As a parting gift, Hamas forced the Gaza war with Israel which resulted in great amounts of destruction throughout Gaza which now has become the responsibility of the Palestinian Authority and the unity governance to direct all the reconstruction while Hamas continues to conduct its terror war. Hamas did pay a price in Gaza for their forcing the war with Israel and many Gazans hold great amounts of resentment against Hamas for their forcing three wars with Israel within the first decade since the Israeli disengagement, an event which was supposed to provide Gazans with a great and promising future only to be destroyed by Hamas initially by their military takeover of Gaza and then its three wars with Israel. Now that Hamas has surrendered Gaza to the Palestinian Authority, the displeasure with the lack of repairs, rebuilding and reestablishing of a functioning economy now falls inevitably to the Palestinian Authority who has had the entire responsibility placed in their lap. On the other hand, Hamas won far more support all across the West Bank and even with those fanatics in Gaza due to their fighting with Israel while the Palestinian Authority appears to be cooperating with Israel by comparison. Hamas has taken on the mantle of the strong horse compared to the Palestinian Authority appearance as the tired and beaten horse. The war with Israel was intentionally initiated by Hamas so as to gain popularity in the one place where they had no direct influence, the West Bank. This was accomplished through the war with Israel and their claims to have won the war simply by surviving and, according to their propaganda, forcing Israel to retreat from Gaza allowing Hamas to turn Gaza over to the unity government. Then they have made grand demands in order to make peace and by refusing to sign anything less again could claim to have resisted Israel and as no peace or agreement has been signed to have defeated Israel and embarrassed Israel on the world stage. Whether any of these claims are actually true matters little, just being able to make such claims will serve the Hamas propaganda goals and give them an advantage whenever the elections for the new parliament and leadership take place to takeover rule from the temporary government put in place as a placeholder from the time when Hamas acquiesced to the formation of a unity government and the formation of the new unity government which will rule all of the Palestinian Arab population across the West Bank and Gaza. Hamas has been playing for the advantage in these elections since a good year before they appeared to collapse and be forced to allow the Palestinian Authority take over rule in Gaza from Hamas and their plans continue on pace for any eventuality where the elections will finally be held.

Hamas is now freed of the tawdry tedium of ruling Gaza and are completely freed to conduct their continuing terror war against Israel and by so, campaigning for the eventual elections for the unity government. They no longer need bother themselves with collecting taxes from smuggling tunnels, especially since digging such tunnels after Egypt has collapsed them and often even filled them with water from the Mediterranean Sea, which provided funds for governing Gaza and paying the payrolls which they had been falling ever further behind. They simply had to take the funding and supplies provided by Iran and Qatar and consume themselves purely with conducting their terror war. The recent murder of the four Rabbis during morning prayers in Jerusalem along with severely injuring a half dozen others and murdering a Druze police officer who rushed in as the first officer to arrive in a heroic attempt to save those who he might be able was perpetrated by Hamas using terrorists from the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) terrorists, a terror group which some have claimed has been subsumed by Hamas as have other older and smaller terror entities. The rioting on the Temple Mount has been paid for and choreographed by Hamas despite the instigations made by Mahmoud Abbas which he has been spouting in a feeble attempt to take credit for the violence as he knows that without such credit he will have no possibility of winning any future elections. The drive-by terrorist attacks where Palestinian Arab drivers ran through crowds waiting for the light rail trains, busses or at street corners to cross intersections were committed by Hamas drivers. Almost all of the attacks, riots and violence committed by Palestinian Arabs in and around Jerusalem have been planned, financed, equipped and terrorist provided by Hamas. Much of the rock throwing has been perpetrated by Palestinians responding to the incitement of Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas has yet to infringe on this territory but if these attacks should take a more violent turn and begin to be shooting attacks or using roadside bombs, then we can expect that Hamas has coopted the general levels of violence which have plagued much of Judea and Samaria and the Jewish residents living therein. The recent explosions of violence in the Galilee might be either Hamas or Abbas and his incitement pressing themselves into new frontiers, only time and questioning from arrests will reveal.

The main thing to keep in mind is that Hamas is expanding their terror war out of Gaza and across the length and breadth of the West Bank in an attempt to gain general acclaims and maximize the support they can garner going into the elections for the new unity government. These elections were supposed to have taken place during the Gaza war which, of course, made holding elections quite impossible. The elections were then put off for a few months until order was reestablished in Gaza and the government could make ready to facilitate elections. This may be the one calculation which Hamas may have miscalculated, namely that now Abbas has control on when and if elections are to be held. As Abbas has put off the elections for his own office countless times since they were presumably to be held in 2009, it should be second nature to him to put off elections for a new unity government for easily an equal amount of time, say about five years. Abbas is not anybody’s fool and is fully aware of his life expectancy should Hamas take control of the Palestinian government. It was recently made so clear to him when the Israeli Shin Bet and IDF broke up and arrested a large Hamas cell which had been planning to strike the Palestinian Authority with a coup in the West Bank and take over the government. Their intent was to explode the entirety of the West Bank into a roiling terrorist war forcing the Israelis to invade the West Bank to restore calm at which point Hamas was planning on launching their coup and would have likely blamed Israel for the deaths of the Palestinian Authority leadership which they would have removed to make room for their takeover. Their plans probably were counting on the European, United Nations and maybe even the United States President and State Department to take the bait and also blame the Israelis and without bothering to wait for any investigation demand that Israel redeploy every Israeli from beyond the Green Line and remove all IDF, police and other forces also within the Green Line resulting in Hamas taking over both the West Bank and Gaza and removing their competition permanently from the picture. With their grand scheme shot to pieces, it appears that Hamas has taken to plan B and are simply going to sustain an elevated level of violence and bide their time hoping either to win in elections or regroup and make another attempt at a coup in the future. Hamas can always start to make demands for the elections for the unity government to be held though they will do so from behind the scenes using people who are not known Hamas members or even use Palestinian Authority personnel which they have coopted, there has to be a few turncoats among thieves, and wait for the Europeans and United States to pressure Abbas into holding elections and, after being burned last time by Abbas cancelling elections for his post, demanding that the elections be comprehensive and every position be on the same ballot. Hamas is willing to be patient as whether it takes elections or a forceful coup, they are assured that they will eventually assume the governing of the Palestinian Arabs by vote or by putsch, either one as they are not proud. In the meantime the leadership of Hamas can continue to collect their skimmed funds and enrich themselves further as the other lesson the Hamas leadership has learned is that terror pays and pays very handsomely.

What Palestinian Unity Government Will Yield

The universally touted ceasefire, ironed out in Cairo, approved by the United States, fashioned and agreed to by Hamas and Israel, is a disaster described as a permanent peace. The central pivotal concept centers on placing the management of the reconstruction of the Gaza infrastructure and rebuilding of homes, schools mosques and other structures to the newly formed Palestinian unity government. This merging of Hamas and Islamic Jihad into the Palestinian Authority has been perceived by the European Union, the individual European governments, the United States and the majority of the rest of the world as well as the United Nations as an empowering of Mahmoud Abbas. This is considered a great leap forward towards resolving the Israeli Palestinian problem as now Gaza has been reunited with and under the control of the Palestinian Authority, the presumed Israeli partner for peace. The assumption prevalent behind this line of thought is that Hamas and Islamic Jihad have surrendered and are the weaker components of this merging and that the Palestinian Authority will continue to proceed with Mahmoud Abbas at its head. These expectations also theorize that the secular centric political makeup from Fatah will prevail over the Islamist bend of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and their fellow jihadists both in Gaza and the West Bank (Judea and Samaria). This optimistic view ignores much of recent events and historic evidence. Ignoring any possibility that their expectations and assumptions may be imperfect, the western nations led by the United States, United Nations and European union are going full speed ahead pressuring Israel to revive the peace process and assist in building the newly untied Palestinian state with Mahmoud Abbas at its head. The only problem is these Pollyannish visions are as far from reality as humanly possible.

Apparently everybody has decided to ignore the coup attempt, which Israeli intelligence assisted by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) prevented by arresting some ninety-three Hamas and related Islamists who were the core behind this planned taking control of the new unity government by the Islamist forces which have ruled in Gaza since the 2007 coup. The difference between the Hamas coup success in Gaza against the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas and their United States trained security forces and their recent failed attempt at a coup in the West Bank failed solely due to Israeli intervention. Remove the Shin Bet and IDF and their intelligence abilities and leave the entirety of the West Bank under Palestinian Authority control as any comprehensive peace and establishment of a Palestinian state would produce and the next Islamist coup would end Palestinian Authority rule and place the leaders from Hamas and Islamic Jihad or others into control of all the Palestinian areas, both West Bank and Gaza. The real question that needs to be resolved before the formation of any Palestinian state had to be how to prevent the Islamists from taking control of that state by force a mere months or weeks or even days or hours after its formation and the removal of Israeli forces from those areas. The solutions which have suggested such things as having United Nations or European Union troops as the inspectors and monitors responsible for preventing further violence and terrorism once the Palestinian state has been formed would be a joke if the unavoidable disaster they would cause would not be so costly for Israel. The problem is when Europeans were presumably given the task of monitoring just the Rafah crossings after the disengagement by Israel under Western pressure in August of 2005, they deserted their position within weeks, spend a few more weeks hiding in their Tel Aviv hotel rooms before fleeing back to Europe never to be seen again and immediately before the 1967 Arab Israeli war which became known as the Six Day War was preceded by the removal of all the United Nations monitors from the Sinai Peninsula simply at the request of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser. Why should Israel now put any faith in these very same enforcers of a peaceful compliance by any future Palestinian state considering their past dire and complete failures? None of these self-anointed paragons of virtue and keepers of the peace would ever rely on such shaky guarantees when their own safety is in the balance, so why should Israel act any differently. These insignificant concerns, at least to the Western nations according to their beliefs, are being ignored and the Israelis are chided and cast as untrusting and acting counter to those necessary to form a lasting peace. But what would such a future Palestinian state allowed to be formed as the Western and other world interests are now demanding act, especially towards Israel, Europe and its Arab neighbors, in the immediate and on into the future times?

Any Palestinian state forced into existence against Israeli better judgment, which is often very different than the official government position and sometimes, as in the recent acceptance of the ceasefire with Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the government may hold the better judgment while the Prime Minister finds their own path independent from the advisories and desires of the rest of the government and even the people of Israel, will likely not produce anything close to the rosy pictures painted by those governments and others pushing their ideas on Israel. Unfortunately, as we depicted in yesterday’s article, there are those amongst the Israeli political elite who have become beaten down by the constant conflicts and pressures from supposed allies who have often pressured these political leaders to take risks and trust their promises, which almost universally fell apart, and were unmet leaving Israel facing predicaments which were unnecessary, thus leaving them ready, even anxious, to just take the path offered and avoid the aspersions and internecine arguments which in the past have combined to remove their ability to stand strong with an unbendingly strong spine and superhuman spirit which they had so many times in the past prevailed with in similar pressured political conflicts. Should that thus far and blessedly unrealized Palestinian state now be finally realized, it will very probably be less than a year before any security arrangement and any monitoring force outside the IDF, the one security option uniformly rejected by every Palestinian leader including those from Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Fatah and also the Palestinian Authority, the force of reason, would have been removed or ended with claims that they were no longer necessary. The reality would be they were becoming too dangerous or costly to continue and fell victim to Palestinian pressures and violent opposition. This would be the necessary precursor to the overthrow of any secular and acceptable governance put in place by any agreement which is currently being proposed and will soon be forced upon Israel. Within weeks, months at the most, after the dissolution of any security and monitoring arrangement that Islamists from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and even forces under Iranian control will take over the Palestinian state through a coup and finally the Islamist forces will have attained their dream of complete control over all of the contested regions. Once the Islamist coup replaces the secularist Palestinian government any idea of a supposed coexistence with Israel dies a hard and permanent death. While Israel would then have the “I told you so right”, that would prove to be of little consolation as Israel would be facing a foreboding and also apocalyptic threat. Any expectation of the same nations and other world organization which gave Israel the litany of guarantees and promises assuring Israeli security and safety be assured would be senseless as the complete litany of guarantors would be whistling innocently and strolling off while professing to see no evil, hear no evil, but they may start to speak some evil as they claim to perceive absolutely no real problem and continue to demand that Israel act as if no threat exists.

There would be emergency meetings held all complaining that they had been forced into session from Israeli paranoid alarmism and would call for renewed calm and see no reason for actions or precautions of any kind. When the eventual and unavoidable initial aggressions such as rocket launchings came from both Gaza and the entirety of the Judean hills overlooking central Israel, such as have been witnessed emanating from Gaza, the world would demand that both sides show restraint as they also ended all flights into Ben Gurion International Airport for security and safety reasons. The conflicting signals would be brushed aside claiming that Israeli alarmist complaints were unwarranted as there had been no or relatively few Israeli casualties resulting from the unaimable rockets and any threats had been intercepted by the Iron Dome systems while their interruption in air service to Israel due to the perceived potential dangers to flights into and out of Ben Gurion International Airport were temporary and were no definitive comment on the level of danger of the situation. This is the identical reaction to the terrorist threat Israel faces currently and throughout her brief history. Ever since the Israel shockingly quick victory in the Six Day War the world had taken the position that Israel is not under any dire threat from the surrounding Arab nations or their terror proxies and thus should not react in any overt manner to any threats they may pose. This has been most evidenced in most of the interactions by the United States, especially the Department of State, in every attempt to reach an agreement after every incursion into violence by Palestinian terror forces. This was again made apparent during the past fifty day on again off again intermittent mix of rockets with the corresponding Israeli counter attacks interspersed with brief ceasefires almost universally broken by Hamas or Islamic Jihad while the leadership and representatives of both the Western world and many international organizations repeatedly demanded Israel accept the next ceasefire and accept every intimation of peace for the real thing. This has been the insistence of the United Nations, European Union and most of the Western governments pressed upon Israel demanding they accept every offer of peace as truthful from the Arabs initially and the Palestinians since the Arab Israeli conflict was rewritten to give Israel the image of invincible, dominance and being impervious to any effort of the Arabs once they had substituted the Palestinians as Israel’s enemies in place of the reality of twenty-two Arab nations.

This result has its best chance of becoming reality with the coming announcement by Mahmoud Abbas which will reach its pinnacle at the opening ceremonies for the United Nations General Assembly this coming September when he makes his official request that the Security Council pass a binding Chapter Seven Resolution setting a date for all Israeli civilians and IDF and security forces to be removed back behind the Green Line, the 1949 Armistice Lines allowing for the birth of the Palestinian state. His argument will be that the unity government has made the formation of Palestine in its totality including both the West Bank and Gaza. He will demand that free passage between Gaza and the West Bank be guaranteed. The great hope that such is finally possible is based on the support that the United States has given to the Palestinians and the apparent animosity between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the attempts by Secretary of State Kerry to force Israel to surrender to the Palestinian demands during the recent peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority during Secretary Kerry’s shuttle diplomacy. The added impetus may have been provided by the attempted persuasion by the United States for Qatar and Turkey, chief allies and supporters of Hamas, to replace Egypt in the recent diplomatic efforts to end the Hamas and Islamic Jihad war with Israel. Even Egypt was opposed to this idea yet the Americans continued until finally Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Israel succeeded in resisting these efforts and reached an agreement which Hamas had little choice but to accept as they had suffered damage which they could no longer afford to continue their conflict with Israel. Should this call for a Palestinian state come to fruition, then the clock will have started in an inexorable countdown to an Islamist adversary perched on the Israeli borders. This would lead to the inevitable final war which would either bring the end of Israel or returning the conflict to between Israel and some form of Arab or Muslim entities, most likely some coalition of Islamist forces. Even if all of the Sunni Arab nations were to reach an arranged peace or coexistence with Israel, this would still leave Hezballah out of Lebanon, Syria for as long as Bashir Assad can retain power and Iran determined to eradicate Israel. These forces could also include Iraq or at least the Shiite southern Iraq should that beleaguered nations split into a Kurdish nation in the north, a Shiite nation in the south possibly being absorbed by Iran and a Sunni state in the center possibly ruled by ISIS. Perhaps part of the reason that Iran has supported the Sunni terror forces of the Muslim Brotherhood spawned Hamas is due to its loss of a stable Syrian allied state and an unpreoccupied Hezballah which is entangled in the Syrian civil war while Hamas offered to ally with Iran against Israel by willingly offering to threaten and attack Israel should Israel decide to attack the Iranian nuclear program. Either way, Hamas has been augmented in their abilities which were evidenced by their increased range of rockets in the recent conflict. This would be multiplied should they also control the West Bank as well as Gaza and this would be an existential threat which Israel could not allow. Still, this is simply one of the scenarios which Israel faces which would force her into a literal fight for her survival, a survival upon which the fate of the Jewish people rests.
