The True Future of Diaspora Jews

The Jews residing outside of Israel run a great risk of assimilation and leaving the faith as described in the article “Dear Israelis, America is not Israel.” This is even more likely when they live outside a traditional Jewish neighborhood, defined as, where all the children attend a Yeshiva, the family attends religious functions, the boys attend daily services preferably with the father and the home is kept properly kosher, will likely leave the religion within the next generation or two, three at the outside barring outside intervention. This will get a howl out of many who will claim that they have the magic formula by which to instill the balance of Judaism and secular community involvement. They may keep kosher at home; but not necessarily when eating out, especially at that great Chinese restaurant that all their friends rave about and where they eat with other families on special occasions. Perhaps the non-kosher outing is monthly pizza night. What about their children when attending school, do they necessarily keep kosher or might they sneak a non-kosher snack every now and again? Are their children hanging mostly with other Jewish children or a mixed crowd? When dating starts, are their dates from known families or sometimes are they dating from an unknown family and if so, what guarantees assure the person they are dating is Jewish? The potential for dangerous situations which will grow more and more prevalent as time progresses and once they are away at college it has become far too late to make corrections. The truth is even if your children are presently retaining a Jewish lifestyle while under your roof, will it be strong enough that they will do the same with their children, and then again through to their children? From what we have seen and even personally witnessed, this is not the case.

Youth who were raised with a complete Jewish background, Bar Mitzvah, president of their B’nai B’rith youth chapter, hooked into the Hillel House when attending university, and intermarried and children brought up in both religions which is almost the same as no religion; their children’s children will likely not be Bar Mitzvah and will float even further adrift with the generation after that not even knowing they came from a Jewish background looking back a few generations. We have a Mormon friend whose grandmother in his mother’s side was Jewish. Legally, he could make Aliyah to Israel on his maternal grandmother’s having been Jewish. They are but one example of how quickly a family can drift from Judaism. The reality can be seen ever so clearly just by looking back into Jewish history. The first mass scale assimilation came early on in Egypt. The Jews may or may not have been slaves or an indentured workforce and may have simply been workers whose only available employment was working on the construction projects. This was apparently the case for many Egyptians, so why not the Jews in Egypt. The truth according to most recounting is that a mere 20% of the Jews left Egypt while the majority preferred the security of what they knew over their faith. Then there was the sorry story about the Ten Lost Tribes which went into exile under the Assyrians and were never heard from until the present day. There is no proof these tribes of Jews coming from all corners of the earth are from the Ten Lost Tribes, but it makes for a very romantic tale. Finally, we have the Babylonian Exile. This was brought to an end by the conquest by Persia under Cyrus the Great. He was named Cyrus the Great by the Jews because he permitted their return to their homelands and with instructions to rebuild their Temple, what would in time become the Second Temple. Here the Jews were liberated from a cruel exile and still, once again, 20% returned to Israel, then known as Judea. The rest saw the wealth and glitter of Persia and decided to take their chances with a complete unknown rather than return to their homeland and rebuild their lives. It was easier to simply melt and assimilate into Persian life. Why should this return be any different other than we have already had more than 20% of the Jewish population, perhaps we should say known Jewish population, return to modern Israel. The number is still under 50%, but at least this time it will end up being over 20% and for that, we can be thankful. The sad news is that mostly parents who are not residing in a close knit Jewish neighborhood and whose children are not attending Yeshiva, the likelihood that their grandchildren will be within the Jewish fold is a slim bet. Yes, some will manage to hold on to that slim thread of tekhelet (blue) from their father’s or grandfather’s Tzitzit, but most will lose their grip and wander astray. This will be the sad end of many a Jewish family line.

But this is not the only influence that America has on Israel. Much of Israeli culture is Middle Eastern but with a definite American flavor. Nowhere in Israeli law is there a guarantee of free speech yet that is often part of a judicial ruling. Now if only Israel would write a Constitution and even include much of the Bill of Rights as there are worse examples of governmental theories. Israel is a liberal democratic nation with many of the equalities written into her laws. Many come from Britain while others from America and the Weimar Republic, the German governance before the Nazi hijacked the nation and too many of its people. There is also the fable that the United States has supported Israel from her inception. There is a partial truth to that as President Truman did advise the American Ambassador to the United Nations to vote in favor of the formation of Israel, or at least the UNGA Res 181. What people are less aware about is that Truman then immediately signed an arms embargo which included Israel. During the Eisenhower administration there was still an arms embargo on Israel including for the duration of the 1956 Suez War. Israel was also insisted upon to return all lands and properties to Egypt at the conclusion of that war by President Eisenhower. Truth be told, the start of American aid to Israel came in the 1970’s with the initial trickle in the late 1960’s. The earnest beginnings of the aid to Israel came during the Yom Kippur War where Israel was desperate for a resupply of arms from anywhere willing. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger advised President Nixon to wring some concessions from the Israelis before sending any aid. President Nixon ignored him and commanded the Secretary of Defense to send whatever the Israelis required immediately. That did run into a small problem, Europe. Every American base in Europe was immediately closed by their hosting nation to any aircraft resupplying the Israelis. The Europeans saw this as finally the opportunity to have Israel removed from the map and their “mistake” of allowing her formation erased. This threatened the entirety of Operation Nickel Grass as the United States could not fly these provisions directly and air refueling was not a viable option. In the end, despite every European nation refusing American use of their airspace for this operation, Portugal was willing to help allowing the aircraft landing and refueling permission at Lajes Field in the Azores Islands. This was the start of the American-Israeli cooperation and interdependence as Israel provides the United States with a good amount of intelligence which they otherwise might not have and cooperation on some operational missions providing deniability for both nations. Still, the United States is dearly loved by the average Israeli. Even during the Obama administration there was the feeling that Israel would not be sacrificed, as the American people would never stand for such. This was the general belief and it has definitely carried over to the Trump administration whose moving the embassy to Jerusalem sent waves of joy and appreciation of the promise fulfilled through the tiny nation.

There are things which can reinforce one’s connection to the Jewish faith, though such is not the desired means of having one return to the faith. There are many in Europe who are finding that they are very Jewish, at least as far as those who find hatred of a Jew as part of their callings. When Synagogues in your town or the city just down the highway is being firebombed and Jews who wear an identifying piece of jewelry or clothing are being attacked regularly as happens in certain places and cities in Europe, then one remembers their attachment to Judaism, as they have no choice. It is known that anti-Semites will check birth certificates and trace people’s heritage back even two or three generations and if anyone in your family was Jewish, to the anti-Semite you are Jewish and are a target. Some places in Europe rabbis are advising their congregants not to wear a kippah in public and to remove them when they leave prayers for safety’s sake. When the people around you in the public start to treat you differently because, as they would state it, you have Jewish blood, then you realize that for many once your family was Jewish always your family is Jewish, and this includes you. Even those who intermarried are not free of such hatred but their non-Jewish spouse will be considered contaminated by marrying you. This anti-Semitism is returning to Europe in all of its ugliest phenomena. This disease is growing and it is infecting the youth in Europe, especially the Muslims but it is far from limited to just Muslims. There are still the old right wing anti-Semites, some neo-Nazis and others just neo-fascists. The problem is that there is another form of anti-Semitism rising in Europe which many have tried to ignore or even claim cannot exist, but the reality is there. Anti-Semitism is becoming adopted by the far-leftists and even some presumably liberals. These groups include pro-Communists and socialists as well as the militant left. In too many places the name Jew and Israel are used interchangeably and with equal animosity. Jews will soon come to a choice in Europe, either go underground and hide their having Jewish roots until they are found out or get out of Europe. If leaving Europe is your choice, a small piece of advice, choose Israel for reasons we are about to make evident.

The United States also is facing increasing anti-Semitism. Most of it is in the form of anti-Zionism and anti-Israelism, but in the end, it will be played out as anti-Semitism. Even in New York where Joe Crowley in the 14th congressional district just lost the primary to challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, an outspoken BDS supporter who is strongly pro-Palestinian and believes Israel is illegal. Our bet is she probably does not like Jews period. Ocasio-Cortez spoke out strongly against the Israeli army’s actions on the Gaza border on May 14, tweeting, “This is a massacre. I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such. No state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters. There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else. Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore.” When asked about the Tweet, Ocasio-Cortez replied, “I think I was primarily compelled on moral grounds because I could only imagine if 60 people were shot and killed in Ferguson. Or if 60 people were shot and killed in the West Virginia teachers’ strikes. The idea that we are not supposed to talk about people dying when they are engaging in political expression just really moved me.” She also claimed to support Bernie Sanders who is also outspokenly anti-Israel, and yes, he is supposedly Jewish.

The waves of anti-Israel protests on major American college and university campuses as well as intimidation of Jewish students with mostly verbal abuse but some numbers have been spat upon and more recently attacks have taken place. Those inciting such actions against Jewish students will also be amongst the leaders in the future after these students graduate and take their place in the society. These positions are taking on a following strongly along the lines of the activist left. Apparently, if one is a Zionist, you cannot be an honest feminist, honest. Some say that supporting Israel bars one from all pro-rights and leftist protests and movements. The writing is on the wall even in some high schools where anti-Semitism has reared its ugly head. These types of things grow slowly and almost unperceived and eventually hit a tipping point, and then people turn around and start asking things like how did this happen and where did it come from. It came from not paying enough attention to what was growing in the shadows simply waiting for the best time to jump out and take center stage. The United States is approaching just such a tipping point when it comes to Jew hatred. This hatred has been festering in the background since the early 1980’s, and had never completely disappeared. Now it is growing with the aid of Islamist groups who are painting hate for Israel as protecting human rights and using that as the introduction to all Jews equal Israel. Even Courtney Love has referred to Linda Sarsour as an “anti-Semitic terrorist” stating in a Tweet, “I won’t follow anything that’s being led by an anti-Semitic terrorist that’s using feminism as a tool to promote her radicalism.” This is going to heat up and catch many Jews, especially those who have wandered from the religion and are completely unaware of what is coming their way.

The Cost of Appeasing the Rest of the World

Israel pays a huge cost simply by appeasing the world and giving weight to their near constant whining, finger pointing and condemnations. This problem is especially framed by the United Nations as well as many of the separate agencies including but not limited to the Human Rights Council which starts their agenda every session with a condemnation of Israel, UNESCO which has gone to great lengths to dismiss the three thousand year history of the Jewish People in the Holy Lands and even UNICEF blaming Israel for the death of child stabbing terrorists in a study resulting from anti-Israel NGO’s whose report was taken at face value. Another area of loud protests at virtually any opportunity is the European Union and member nations including but not limited to France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and more. These denunciations have been raised against Israel despite the restraint used by the IDF and the timidity of action permitted by the political establishment. The world is aware that should Israel decide to end all the unrest in Gaza and the Shomron, they could unleash the IDF removing virtually all restraints and within a couple of weeks the entirety of the Palestinian Arab regions could be cleared of almost every Arab with any connection to terrorism and working for the destruction of Israel. Israel could then simply annex all the lands which currently are ruled by Hamas and Palestinian Authority, actually the Palestinian Authority has been declared void by Mahmoud Abbas thus that area is actually ruled by the PLO. The remaining Arabs could be given the choice of remaining and living under Israeli rule with the right to vote in local governance but, since they would be regarded as resident aliens, would be barred from national elections or they could choose to leave and be compensated for their property and given airfare to whatever destination they planned to start their lives anew. That would be the end of the Palestinian Arab difficulties with the Israelis and the world would need to face the reality and allow the Arabs they have held prisoner in camps along with their children and their children since 1948. That is the most immediate means for ending these problems and the world would jump up and down and yell and scream for a period and eventually they will learn to live with this solution.

Now let us discuss the price of the recent violence which is now lasted far too long. The loss of fields, crops, forest regions and wilderness preserves was closing in on one and a half million dollars as of early June. These fire-kites and fire-balloons have left too many farmers’ fields burned to the ground looking like the images below. This has been the damage which the world has been appraised of and their response has been to shrug. The world really does not care as they write such off as the price the Jews must pay to have their own homeland. They would respond that if the Jews do not like the violence, well, they could always simply leave the land giving it back to the Arabs; Arabs who mostly moved into the area after the first Jews began to rebuild the region and initiated productive economic regions. The Jews could always return to the nations they came from, right? Well, does anybody honestly believe that Syria, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Iran or any of the other Arab and Muslim nations who expelled their Jews after Israel was founded would permit their return? How about Europe, would any of our European friends take their Jews back? We are not talking about saying such in a discussion, we mean in reality. How about the United States, does anybody believe that the United States would accept close to seven million Jews? The United States would not even take in nine-hundred Jews from the refugee ship the St Louis in May of 1939 as she steamed up the length of the east coast and ended up back in Germany where the Jews were placed in the concentration camps. Perhaps South America or Africa would take in the Israeli Jews. Maybe Japan or China would take in the Israeli Jews. Nobody would offer the Jews refuge and we do not wish to leave Israel once again and return into the diaspora.

But let’s discuss the cost of the past ten days. Over two-hundred rockets have been fired out of Gaza and into Israel injuring a family of four when a rocket slammed into their home. For this family, the damage to their home is inconsequential compared to the trauma they are suffering and the wounds they suffer. Further, the Israel Iron Dome anti-rocket systems were reported to have intercepted more than twenty of these rockets. Now let’s do the math. They shot down over twenty rockets which likely means they fired well over thirty interceptors which cost fifty-thousand dollars each, and those are just the interceptor and not the Iron Dome systems which each cost millions of dollars and then add in the training of IDF soldiers in use and implementation of these very complicated and high-tech systems. Just the interceptors cost over one and a half million dollars, or if you prefer numerical representation, they cost over $1,500,000 just for the interceptors. Just for the record, the rockets cost less than one-hundred dollars each with the majority costing less than fifty dollars. The reason Israel designed, built, field and stock amply the Iron Dome systems is the cost is considered well worth any price if it saves lives, and the Iron Dome systems have saved very likely hundreds if not thousands of lives since its inception and first being fielded.

Why doesn’t Israel just go in and wipe Gaza clean? That is a good question. The answer is only partially that the leaders care far too much about how the rest of the world will react. What we have seen has been very frustrating when Israeli politicians appear to worry more about how the Europeans will react and less about what the people of Israel desire. What is frightening is that most of the alternatives for leadership would likely be even worse as those from the left would fall over themselves to give more areas to the Arabs just in an attempt to prove the failed ideas which gave us the Oslo Accords were really correct and only needed the right people, meaning them, in charge. They will not work because the Arab leadership has made it clear; they will take every inch of land that Israel is willing to sacrifice until there is no more Israel. The only solution they will accept is for the Jewish State to be destroyed. All of that aside, we realize that a Torah observant Jew is supposed to follow the rules in Torah and cherish peace and live an exemplary life which will be reward itself. Still, living an exemplary life and desiring peace and trying to live as an example of what a fair and decent person is supposed to be is not designed or desired to be suicidal. When facing people whose main desire is to kill you, it is not desirous that you remain passive before their attacks. Passivity in the face of belligerence is not peace, it is sacrificing oneself and all that for which you stand. One should not tolerate attacks by those who are set on your destruction; one should act to meet such attacks with such force such that your assailant will never desire to attack you ever again. This does not include in the reasoning anything about what will the world, a world which also desires your nation destroyed, will think or how they might react. Living to please those who detest your defending yourself is a form of national suicide and not a preferred style of leadership. Fortunately, the people of Israel are growing tired of the timidity in the face of belligerent actions coming from either Gaza or any other direction, be it from the north and Hezballah under Iranian direction or from the east and the PLO. Iran is behind much of what is being done from Gaza but it must still be possible to deter the forces in Gaza by making the attacks too costly for the leadership. Perhaps striking their homes, vehicles, the mall, restaurants and other stylish places which are far from the rocket launchers would strike the leaders where it would hurt foiling their plans the Hamas leaders have devised to protect their own homes while risking those of the population at large. We understand that Israeli leaders desire to minimize casualties resulting from their airstrikes, so perhaps strike the mall at 3:00 in the morning and the restaurants at 4:30 in the morning when nobody is there. Find a time through observation when their house is empty and strike when nobody is at home if that is what you would prefer, just make it uncomfortable for the leadership and their social circles and relieve the cost for the people of Gaza. This might be more effective than striking empty training fields as how does one damage a combat training field? Why not give this a shot, as what has been the normative practice sure is not working.

So You Claim Lands Beyond the Green Line are Occupied by Israel?

We could go through the technicalities of standing International Law where the original Mandate under the British set the eastern border for Israel as the Jordan River and set aside Jordan, a total of 78% of the Mandate Lands for the Palestinian Arab state and 80% of the Jordanian population consider themselves to be Palestinians. We could note the San Remo Conference which set aside all of the British Mandate for the Jewish State which the British reneged upon. We could go to the Oslo Accords which everyone claims states that all the lands belong to the Arabs, a lie, where the area of the Shomron (West Bank) was divided into three sections where Areas A and B were under Arab civilian rule and Area C was granted to Israel. All of the Israelis residing beyond the Green Line in the Shomron reside in Area C which contains a mere 4% of the Palestinian Arabs. These are not settlers as they are residing in the area which was to remain as part of Israel in the preliminary divides made under the Oslo Accords. But wait, we hear, the United Nations demanded Israel return everything after the Six Day War. Again, that is a lie. The United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 stated that Israel had to return land, not all land, not the lands, simply land. British Ambassador to the United Nations Lord Caradon was adamant and very forceful threatening that the British would use their veto should anything demanding that Israel must return all the land was the implication. According to the wording of UNSC Res 242, as soon as Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt, she had met the requirement of returning land and could retain all the remaining lands as Israeli leaders wished to do so. Those are the facts, but let us look at the rationality of those claiming that everything beyond the Green Line does not belong to Israel.

That would mean that quite a few places have no ties to Israel or Judaism and that the Jewish People should simply turn them over to the Arabs who will care for them on a level of great respect and honor. The first place we will tell about is the great cemetery on a hill overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem where hundreds of Jewish luminaries and tsaddikim have been laid to rest over the millennia, the Mount Olive Cemetery. When the Jordanians had control of this revered and holy place, the Arabs destroyed the cemetery, used tombstones as paving bricks and in the building of latrines, still regularly throw firebombs and break tombstones, and Arab youth from a nearby school throwing stones at funeral processions or at mourners entering or leaving the cemetery. What does any rational person believe would happen should the Palestinian Arabs be given over control of this holy site. The Temple Mount would no longer be able to be visited by Jews, be they Israelis or visiting from all over the world, just as when the area belonged to Jordan. The Western Wall would again be placed beyond the places Jews would be permitted to visit; so you claim the Western Wall is not Jewish enough for Israel to have access, let alone control. In Hevron is the Cave of Machpelah, Tomb of the Patriarchs, where Abraham, Sarah, Isaak, Rebekah, Jacob and Leah are buried, and this too does not belong to the Jewish People according to those denying Israeli right to retain lands liberated from illegal Jordanian control when they took this area in the 1948 war to genocidally clean the entirety of the land of the Jews, also misnamed the Israeli War of Independence as it was actually a war for Israeli survival against at least a half dozen Arab armies who launched their attack the morning of Israeli declaration of statehood. The tomb of Joseph, whose remains were brought from Egypt when the Israelites left in the Exodus, is also in Hevron. This we can show how the Arabs treat this holy place as it is currently controlled by the Palestinian Authority (see pictures below). Jericho is beyond the Green Line, is this not a place which Jewish history includes. Rachel’s Tomb is beyond the Green Line and when visited by Jewish women, they often come under attack by Arabs and must be protected by the IDF when paying their respects, even more so on special holy days when such visits are traditional. We could continue to list additional sites as the Shomron is the heart of the Jewish homelands and its hills played a dominant part in the many times these lands were defended by the Jews in our history. The Prophets wandered these lands educating and caring for their flock, the Jewish People. The entirety of the Old City of Jerusalem is beyond the Green Line, can anyone claim that Jerusalem played no part in Jewish history. The City of David, the First Temple and Second Temple and so much more resides in these regions the world wants to rip from the Jewish People. Christians also would no longer be permitted to visit many of the places where Jesus preached, where he was crucified and everything in and around Jerusalem and Bethlehem would only be permitted twice a year, Christmas and Easter, as the Arab merchants make their living selling mementos to the Christians on pilgrimage. This would mean a surrender of many of the places which the Judeo-Christian faiths are based upon in the hands of people who desire to erase the proof of their existence as Islam is a supersessionist faith.

These are the truths which those purporting to be social justice warriors and the defenders of human rights claim are false when they push the BDS Movement upon many who are lacking actual knowledge to rationally decide and end up swept into these acts. The reality of the people, the originators and money behind the BDS Movement never reveal their roots. The BDS Movement was originally the Arab League Boycott of Israel which is still in place today as almost every Arab nation refuses to trade with Israel. They gladly use Israeli technology and medical discoveries and the Palestinian from Gaza and in the Shomron often come for treatment in Israeli hospitals. This even includes officers from the Palestinian Authority, relatives of Hamas leadership and other Arabs who require additional treatments only available in Israel. More examples here, here, here and from the Palestinian Authority we treated them and their relatives as told here, here, here, here and in summation, this. Imagine if the Palestinian Arabs and even the entirety of the Arab world would recognize Israel how many more Arabs would be able to receive such medical care and how the sharing of these procedures and techniques with Arab doctors could save so many lives. But Israel is the devil and must be destroyed, except when the cream of the Arab crop need medical care, then Israeli hospitals are considered an exception. But Israel must not be permitted to retain the lands promised her from after World War I and long before World War II and the Holocaust. We would like to share one last Israeli medical group which provides care for children the world over, teaches their methods to doctors from around the world, established entire operating rooms and wards in other nations free from charge so the physicians they train are able to perform heart surgery on infants and who do work recognized by the World Health Organization, this group is called, “Save a Child’s Heart.”

Now, allow us to state a little truth about Israel. If the Palestinian Arabs, representing the Arab world and do not believe otherwise, were to make peace with Israel, the lives of the average Palestinian Arab would improve directly proportionately to the rate of the decrease in terrorism. Arabs would be permitted to work in Israel after they pass a background check to assure that they were not involved in terrorism. Were Israel permitted to have everything they desired, the main losers would be Mahmoud Abbas and the rest of the hierarchy of the Palestinian Authority, PLO and Fatah, all of which Mahmoud Abbas is either the President or the Chairman, as they would soon not have the flood of aid monies coming in from Europe, the Arab world, the United Nations and the rest of the sources of their terror money (graph shown below). Israel would like to have the eastern border promised her by the British, the United States, the League of Nations and the United Nations who assumed the implementation of the Mandate System from the League of Nations as per Article 80 of the United Nations Charter. The Arabs residing within the Shomron would be granted resident alien status and be permitted to vote in the local elections thus providing each city to basically rule themselves but be prevented from voting in national elections, as they would not have Israeli citizenship. They would not be required to serve in the IDF as Israelis are (Israeli Arabs are not required to serve either), serve in national service, or any other citizen requirement. They would be required to reside and live under the Israeli legal system, particularly when in the main regions outside their control. Each family would be given three choices, they could sign an agreement accepting the above, they could decide they wish to move and start over elsewhere thus receiving fair market value for their property and possibly a relocation stipend but would have to promise never to return to reside within Israeli controlled regions, or they could choose violence at which point they would be fought and when captured they would be expelled from Israel and also not permitted to return for any reason. There may be a possibility, in time, to permit the Arabs who remain a means of acquiring Israeli citizenship, but that would be dependent on numerous conditions. Any Arabs caught committing terrorism or aiding terror would also be expelled summarily. This would end the Palestinian Arab problem and would hopefully eventually lead to the Arab world ceasing their boycotts of Israel and possibly even normalizing relations. This would still leave the problem of Iran and their allies of Hezballah in Lebanon, the IRGC and Quds Brigades in Syria and Hamas with Islamic Jihad in Gaza.

Gaza is a different situation than the Palestinian Authority. In the Shomron, Israel has not ceded ownership of the land to the Arabs while in Gaza Israel renounced ownership granting the lands to the Arabs. Hamas took control of Gaza in a coup pushing out the Palestinian Authority. That does not alter the Israeli relinquishing claim to Gaza, unfortunately. Gaza is and will remain, unless retaken by necessity at some point, independent of Israel no matter what happens elsewhere. Hamas, Hezballah, Islamic Jihad and Iran have all sworn to erase Israel from the face of the earth, all denials aside. The threat from Hezballah is probably the most serious at this time. Recently, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Deputy Commander Hossein Salami promised to fight Israel from Lebanon in his speech on al-Quds Day 2018. This was a new strategy he proposed as previously, only Hezballah was acting in Lebanon and this places Iranian forces also in Lebanon. Iran commands a number of threats to Israel beyond its own missiles which could be fired from Syria, as has occurred, or from Iran or Iraq. They also command Islamic Jihad and Hamas in Gaza who are currently attempting to set Israel on fire while still attempting to breach the border and spread mayhem and murder in southern Israel and beyond if permitted. They command Hezballah which stands with over one-hundred-fifty-thousand rockets they claim are poised to be fired into Israel and they could also command the Lebanese Army to attack Israel as they are all but commanded by Hezballah. Then there are actual forces from Iran fighting in Syria assisting Bashir al-Assad which according to Deputy Commander Hossein Salami could be used to solve the Islamic world’s problems as he stated in the following, “The problems of the Islamic world stem from the existence of the false, counterfeit, historically rootless, and identity-less regime named Israel. Seventy years have passed since the policy of England and America planted in the Islamic world an accursed and criminal tree. For seventy years, this poisoned dagger has been embedded in the body of the Islamic Ummah, and all the problems of the Islamic world stem from the existence of the false, counterfeit, historically rootless, and identity-less regime named Israel. In addition to the threat to Palestine’s existence, the Zionist regime constitutes a threat as well to the entire Islamic world.” You get the idea. The rest can be read here. Should Hezballah, with or without the IRGC and Quds Brigades, attack Israel, the threat would be overwhelming enough to demand dire responses from Israel. The commander of the Lebanese Army has stated that they are willing and able to repel any advance by Israel onto solemn Lebanese soil, which can only place all of Lebanon as the enemy and thus a target to respond to Hezballah. Thus, any war between Israel and Hezballah would now include a war between Israel and all of Lebanon, not just the terrorists and Iranian forces. Such a war would have dire results for both nations. The initial attack coming from Hezballah would constitute tens of thousands of rockets and missiles raining down on Israel before Israeli forces could mobilize their response. The initial response would come from Israeli air power and missiles all targeting the Hezballah strongholds and missile stores. Within two to three days there would no longer be any threat left coming from Lebanon and the next question would be whether or not Iran desired to use their remaining assets from within Syria, providing Israel had not neutralized them as well. The most serious question would be whether Israel also responded with attacks on Iran itself. This is why Iran currently unleashed Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza, as they are not prepared to institute such a war with Israel which could result from any attacks out of Lebanon, especially an all-out attempt to overwhelm Israel with a decisive first strike. This still leaves Gaza.

Gaza presents a problem, as their attacks are often more terror and guerrilla tactics than actual warfare. This makes any Israeli military response appear to be disproportional. The reason this has not played into the recent attacks is due to a number of particulars including the low level and specific targeting by Israel, the media coverage has been less slanted than usual, damage by the Hamas and Islamic Jihad attacks have struck almost singularly civilian targets, Hamas accepted on television that the percentage of terror operatives killed was over 85% of those killed and the world has generally tired of these threats to Israel and are at the cusp, not quite yet beyond the cusp, of accepting Israel simply resolving the situation in Gaza by whatever means are required. Yes, if Israel actually were to do so the entirety of Europe, or at least a fair share, would erupt in indignation. It’s what they do. Even the Palestinian Authority has worn out their welcome as it has become so overtly obvious that they are the ones who refuse to allow peace that the world is fed up. The outburst by Mahmoud Abbas cursed President Trump publically with one of the most vile Arabic curses when he in an outburst let loose with, “May your house be destroyed.” Trust that he added a whole lot more which can be read at the link above. The meaning of this particular curse is that your entire extended family be turned into beggars who must scape before others just to survive, not just have your house destroyed, but all of your house meaning extended family. We believe that this was explained to President Trump who apparently did not take well to such insult. So, Abbas has burned his bridges, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are so obviously Iranian pawns that the world is deserting them. With any good fortune, Hamas and Islamic Jihad will also finally face the Gazans ire and their demand to have real leadership which will serve the people and not foreign demands for violence and terrorism. The one thing you have not read in your news is that each day of the Gaza riots, one and three-quarter million people did not attend the rioting festivities and attempted to take care of their difficult economic situation as best they could due to their governance spending virtually all their aid monies on tunnels, rockets and firebombs to attach to kites and balloons while paying those who did come to riot a stipend because that is how you get people to riot. Perhaps a number of those rioting did so for the cash and nothing more. These are some facts to chew on for a while.
