Add the PLO to President Trump’s Dump List

President Trump has correctly placed Fatah, the PLO, Palestinian Authority, Palestinian Arabs, UNRWA and Mahmoud Abbas into one large single basket to be treated as a single entity. There are many advantages to this and no down side. Grouping these and basically labelling them Mahmoud Abbas links them all to their central mouthpiece and the person who controls the entirety of the Palestinian Arab acts, political, terrorist, monetarily, constructs, terror rewards, education, elections (or lack thereof) and decisions of any nature. This means that striking at any one of them is a means of striking Abbas or rewarding Abbas. The one with the slightest difference is UNWRA as it also strikes at the United Nations which often acts as another supporter of all things Mahmoud Abbas. President Trump and Mahmoud Abbas have been engaged in testosterone spitting contest trying to establish which one is the dominant one in their relations. The history of American and Palestinian Arab relationship has an interesting record, as most people would assume that the United States would be the dominant player. They would be very wrong in this assumption. Since the very beginning, the Palestinian Arabs have dictated the relationship constantly pushing the United States and each successive President to push the Israelis to constantly make concessions while receiving nothing in return. The relations have been excessively one-sided, especially since the signing of the Oslo Accords. Time and time again the Israelis were cajoled, threatened and even faced an embargo forcing them to give the Palestinian Arabs control over more lands, complete control over Gaza, Hevron, Bethlehem etcetera. This relationship has been utilized and exploited making Israel appear weak and unable to press their side and story over the claims made by the Palestinian Arabs to such an extent that now the world has taken the Palestinian Arab side against Israel fearing no retributions or dangers from these acts.

Under President Trump that has changed. Despite President Trump reading Mahmoud Abbas the riot act, Mahmoud Abbas refuses to believe that he can lose from ignoring the American President. Abbas is so used to getting his way if he simply presses forward and refuses to back down that he still thinks that President Trump can be forced into compliance with the Palestinian Arab politics. Since the Six Day War the Arabs, including specifically the Palestinian Arabs, have watched Israel return the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt for a piece of paper which was proven worthless during the time the Muslim Brotherhood and President Morsi were in office in Cairo and have not exactly become worth much more with President Sisi who has kept a very cold peace. The peace treaty with Jordan has resulted in little change in relations between the two nations with Jordanian media still printing much hateful, anti-Semitic, and anti-Israel articles and editorials. Israel was pressured by President Obama into apologizing to Turkey over the Mavi Marmara and paying the families of the terrorists who were killed in their attack attempting to break the Gaza embargo. Under George W. Bush Israel removed thousands of Jewish families from Gaza and turned the entirety over to the Palestinian authority under their word they would be nice and build a working relationship. They lied and never acted any differently and then lost in a coup that almost appeared to be a simple handover of Gaza to Hamas and Islamic Jihad resulting in three wars resulting from rocket assaults on Israeli civilians. These are just some examples of cases where the United States with President Willian Jefferson Clinton, President George W. Bush and President Barack Hussein Obama and their combined history of forcing Israel to surrender over and over again to the demands from Mahmoud Abbas and Yasser Arafat before him. Mahmoud Abbas has been rewarded for his stubborn refusal to negotiate unless given huge rewards just to sit down once with the Israeli leadership and then refusing to actually negotiate. He has pretty much assumed that a single camera opportunity each year or so which has satisfied every former President. Abbas expected President Trump to be no different from his predecessors and has seen some Presidents who initially supported Israel but sooner or later, they would pay the piper and cave to Palestinian Arab demands and forcing Israel to make concessions. Abbas is acting as if he has to prance for the first year and possibly two while President Trump enforces his Israel backing credibility before then turning and forcing Israel into making some serious concessions. Abbas is simply grinning and bearing the abuse expecting great rewards in the future.

Coming Soon if Abbas Refuses Trump Again

Coming Soon if Abbas Refuses Trump Again

That brings everything down to a simple question, will Trump resort to pressuring Israel into making concessions in order to be able to have at least one meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Abbas in front of the White House or will he continue to try and force Abbas without resorting to pressuring Israel, like every President before. But perhaps there is some miscalculation by Mahmoud Abbas and President Trump actually means he stands with Israel. Even if President Trump and his team actually do stand with Israel, there is another piece to the puzzle which could be a wildcard, the State Department. The State Department has been antagonistic to Israel since its founding where they advised President Truman not to recognize the Jewish State. There have been many instances through the history of Israel where the State Department has been less than, how can we put this, helpful on affairs with Israel. It was the State Department and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who pressed for the Gaza evacuation and gifting to the Palestinians which led to Hamas taking control and caused a number of wars between Israel and the Arab terror groups in Gaza since the turnover. There is still a possibility that the State Department might pressure President Trump sufficiently over time until he finally pressures Israel under the State Department pressing that Israel has been unhelpful.

The current signs and indications are that President Trump believes, unlike previous administrations, that Israel has sacrificed far too much and should not be forced to sacrifice further. There have been indications that President Trump may be on the verge of closing the PLO offices in Washington D.C. This would be unprecedented but still might not be sufficient to force Mahmoud Abbas to change his attitudes. Abbas is so set in his ways and is not an honest partner and does not care what President Trump does because he also knows that at the longest period of eight years he will be done with President Trump if not sooner. Abbas does not even care if Vice President Pence were to follow President Trump and also serve a full two terms, he will not change his attitudes. Even should Abbas be replaced as the leader of the Palestinian Arabs, it will not change their attitudes or demands because the Palestinian Arabs themselves have been promised the end of Israel and will accept no less. The Palestinian Arab leadership, no matter who they may turn out to be after Abbas, will not accept anything less than Israel destroyed by the rest of the world including the United States in concert with the United Nations, European Union, European Nations, Arab world and every other nations on Earth and some also desire the Jews of the world all murdered as well. Of all the assumptions possibly made by Mahmoud Abbas, the most frightening is that all he need do is wait for the next favorable administration. The Palestinians are fully aware that if they are simply patient and refuse to meet Israel any percentage of the way, then eventually the world, including the United States, will sooner or later lean on Israel and force them to give the Arabs whatever they demand and by repeating this, they will destroy Israel in stages. The reality that this is probably an assumption that will prove true long before it may ever prove false, is sufficient reason for President Trump to be wise not to allow the Palestinian Arab threat to Israel to persist past his first term. One need remember that every President since Lyndon Banes Johnson has claimed to be the best friend which Israel has ever had in the White House, even including President Obama. We remember when President Obama was initially elected and a friend inquired what to expect concerning all things and we told him to expect President Carter on steroids and that this would be no truer than things concerning the Middle East. This friend had doubts that President Obama could outdo President Carter when it came to making trouble for Israel, especially all that President Carter has done since leaving the White House. We would hate to have to say this concerning a new President except putting in President Obama instead of President Carter, but there are those who would be worthy of such a warning. Whatever the case, President Trump should be warned not to allow any future President to be handed a Middle East where Israel is unfinished business, and that is the reality, the absolute reality.

Hamas-Fatah Union Job Finished

The Union between Fatah and Hamas we reported on in the first article of our three part report on the situation in Gaza, Judea, Samaria and concerning Israel and beyond. Their intent was to make and peace proposal impossible to implement, as all efforts were formed targeting Judea and Samaria and the Palestinian Authority (PA) and never to include Gaza or Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The main item which Fatah and the PA wanted to gain was a simple quote saying there could be no peace as long as Hamas rejects Israel and has the destruction of Israel and the death of all Jews as their main goals. Well, they have their quote from which they will pluck the juiciest part to use to further their own goals. The magic phrase came from Prime Minister Netanyahu when he wrote on his Facebook page following the end of the Simchat Torah holiday, “Reconciliation between Fatah and Hamas makes peace much harder to achieve.” Prime Minister Netanyahu later added, “Reconciling with mass-murderers is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Say yes to peace and no to joining hands with Hamas.”

Fatah Hamas Reconciliation

Fatah Hamas Reconciliation

Just wait for it and sooner or later we will hear from Mahmoud Abbas misquoting Prime Minister Netanyahu by taking parts of his Facebook statements such as claiming that Netanyahu says, “peace much harder to achieve.” Then Abbas will add to the quote with something misleading such as “Israel” adding and according to the Prime Minister, “is part of the problem, not part of the solution.” The Palestinian leadership has used partial quotes before to paint Israel as the problem while Mahmoud Abbas refused every opportunity for peace demanding that the only true peace includes the eradication of the Jewish State and that the entirety of the lands from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea be cleansed of the Jews. When the leaders of Fatah, the PLO, and the PA speak to their people, they sound exactly the same as Hamas states. They tell them how they will drive the Jews into the Sea or other similar messages denoting the eradication of Israel as it now exists. There are two storylines they tell. The first is the simple war where Israel is defeated and the Jews made to submit or die. Another is they receive their peace treaty allowing for five to eight or even ten million Arab refugees to be resettled inside Israel as full citizens and demand an immediate election where they will vote to join the PA and the Jews will be subjugated. You may have noticed that they both have the same ending. The supposed reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah will also now come to a bitter end as they agree to disagree on just about everything except the death of Israel and the Jews.

The truth of the matter is the leadership of the PA, Fatah, PLO, Hamas et. al. are counting on the world’s basic historic anti-Semitism, especially European anti-Semitism and United Nations with all its departments, NGOs and related agencies, to erode and sap the will of the Jews and through demanding concessions after concession to whittle Israel to the point that she become indefensible and then with the rest of the Arab world or with Iran and Hezballah, they will have a final war where Israel can be eliminated. The Arab world has assisted greatly by financing propaganda such as the BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment and Sanction), International Solidarity Movement (ISM), Stand With Us and numerous other organizations all done in concert with far leftist groups such as Jewish Voices of Peace (JVP), New Israel Fund, and other such groups whose main efforts is to drive a wedge between American Jews and Israel. This effort to drive Israel and American Jews apart has, very sadly, started to pay dividends as it has managed to even split the campus group Hillel such that numerous Hillel houses on far left leaning campuses have renamed themselves as Open Hillel, just like Open Orthodoxy has done with Orthodox Judaism, they have both turned against their origins and joined the other side and then demanded that their former origins now accept their rules and forfeit their basic origins and beliefs. The Open Hillel takes the post-Zionist viewpoint which claims that Zionism is a form of imperialism and colonialism and thus a form of racist imperialism and oppression. They are leading Jewish college students away from supporting Israel to actively opposing Israel.

This problem also exists in the Democrat Party except for some of the older representatives and the minority of Jews in power with the Party. Much of the farther leftists who have risen to be the future power within the Democrat Party are virulently anti-Israel and many also anti-Semitic. This was evidenced in 2012 when the Democrat Party floor voted to include G0d and place Jerusalem as the Israeli capital was an indecisive vote but definitely not the two-thirds required for placing it on the platform. They passed it anyways. Further, the recent Democrat Party election for chairman between Tom Perez and Keith Ellison was excessively close such that Perez won in the second vote, after missing out by just one vote in the first round of voting so they gave as a consolation the position as Deputy Chairman to Keith Ellison. Representative Ellison was amongst those who voted against resupply to Israel for their Iron Dome anti-missile systems, a purely defensive weapon which was preventing Hamas rockets from killing Israeli citizens. That is just one example of Representative Ellison’s disdain, or should we call it what it is, hatred for Israel and Jews. Things have been changing in the body politic in the United States and the support for Israel. The main party supporting Israel, as it is no longer a bipartisan supported item, has gone over to the Republicans and the major support from the public is no longer with the Jews as even if every Jew were a supporter of Israel, their two percent of the population cannot even dream of competing with the Evangelical Christians with their consisting of one-fourth of the population and strongly conservative supporting the Republican. The truth behind the United States support for Israel does not come from the Jews, though they may often be the loudest, but from the Evangelical Christians who are more serene, calm and sedate but just as vehemently strong in support of Israel as the most Zionist Jew.

Israel Palestinian Conundrum Culmination

For initial articles, click for first here and click for second here.

Where two days ago we gave some potential options and yesterday, we gave a possible scenario; the scenario was less than wonderful for much of the free world and horrific for Israel. The fortunate thing is that none of these things are likely to occur. There is a small fly in the ointment and it is about the size of the average rhinoceros. We mentioned the problem and some of you probably caught the problem, Hamas gets to retain their twenty-five-thousand man Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades military. This will be the central question to be resolved at the Cairo meeting on Tuesday, November 21, where the reconciliation will be finalized. The main stumbling block will be Hamas’ insistence on retaining their rather large police/security forces, well over ten-thousand strong plus their military wing, all twenty-five thousand well-armed men with a number of officers trained in Iran. The initial agreement allowed Fatah and the Palestinian Authority (PA) to station a security force numbering about ten-thousand officers strong. If you do the math, it turns into thirty-five thousand Hamas force fully armed against the PA lightly armed ten-thousand police force largely toting with side arms. It’s not really a fair fight, which is why we are glad that we are not part of their security force. Hamas has little intention of allowing the PA to actually take control over Gaza and is simply making the initial steps towards unification which will come to a crashing halt at their next meeting. This has happened before with the initial agreement being reached in order to throw a large wrench into the machinery while everything falls apart subsequently after whatever peace proposals forming are burned to ashes from whence they came. The PA and Hamas are great believers in ashes to ashes when it comes to peace initiatives. As we explained over the last two days, there are quite a few peace proposals being initiated or given some trial run and the PA was getting quite nervous that things just might turn against them and they would be trapped by Trump or Mudar Zahran or whoever so they turned to their supposed rivals for a little cooperation for a period of time sufficient to destroy all peace proposals.

What it comes down to is that Mahmoud Abbas, the leadership of Hamas, of Fatah, of the PLO and of the PA have millions of reasons why they do not desire peace at any price. Each of those reasons has a Dollar or a Euro attached to them and amount to millions per year except for Mahmoud Abbas and family where it comes to millions per month. They cannot accept any form of peace treaty where Israel remains as a Jewish State. It could remain as an Islamic run state under sharia law where the Jews are subject to the Jizya and the Jews, Christians and anyone not within the PA, PLO or Fatah are dhimmi subjected to the shame and degradations which goes along with dhimmitude. The problem for Mahmoud Abbas is he promised to destroy the Zionist Entity otherwise known as Israel or the Jewish State. He promised to accomplish this by swamping Israel with millions of displaced Arabs, something he actually did not have until recently with the destruction and dissolving of Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and the Arab world in general after the Arab Spring initiated by President Obama with the able support of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Hamas has an even larger promise they intend to keep. They also want to destroy Israel as the Jewish state but want to also eradicate the Jewish population. Just to make things clear, Hamas wants to eradicate the entirety of the Jewish population everywhere. The rest of the terror groups are either attached to the PA, PLO plus Hamas or they are permitted to operate within the areas under their control. Islamic Jihad is one such group who operates within Gaza and is aided by Iran and work cooperating with Hamas. Sometimes Hamas uses the presence of Islamic Jihad as an excuse for terror strikes when they need to explain attacks against treaties. There are a number of other minor groups operating in Gaza plus rumors that al-Qaeda, Islamic Jihad and Muslim Brotherhood have been known to operate command and control people out of Gaza controlling their Sinai Peninsula forces. All of these groups depend on there being no peace with Israel to continue their operations.

The reconciliation, as we keep stating, was used as it always has, to destroy any possibility for any peace talks or other potential for ending the Palestinian cause which has been used as a center for terror operations worldwide. Hezballah in Lebanon has been used as a conduit by Iran to funnel weapons into Gaza for Islamic Jihad and at times for Hamas as well. Hezballah is not just a terror group working for Iran in Lebanon as well as Syria but also worldwide with a large base in the tri-border area in South America where Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil borders meet. Hezballah uses the area for training and attack simulations for operations anywhere in the world. They work with the Iranian IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) which includes a special group, the al-Quds force, which specializes in attacks to attack Israel in general and Jerusalem in particular (al-Quds is the Muslim Arab name for Jerusalem). The faithful execution of any missions such cells may be utilized to commit is often assured through holding family members within Lebanon as persuasion over their actions and trusted loyalty. We know Iran has extensive abilities to strike anywhere within the Americas as we witnessed in two separate bombings in Argentina; the first was the bombing of the Israeli Embassy on March 17, 1992, with the second being the bombing of the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) on July 18, 1994, both in Buenos Aires. The IRGC likely cooperating with Hezballah have also attacked American interests such as murdering United States Marines in their barracks in Lebanon as well as assaulting the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya. All of these attacks were either simulated in Lebanon, Iran or the tri-border area before being triggered on their actual targets. Iran also supplies Islamic Jihad and often Hamas and has attempted to make inroads into Fatah and the PLO as they try to encircle Israel. This is information which should be sufficient evidence that the terrorism which starts with Israel will not remain contained in Israel. This lesson has been pressed on Europe as their Islamist infiltration has brought with it terrorism similar in nature as Israel faces. The United States has also been targeted by terrorism including the horrific attacks of 9/11 and numerous others since and before.

The real problem is that there can be no solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict which allows for the continued existence of Israel as the Jewish state. Where many within the European power structure appear to be fine with solutions which would erase the Jewish nature of Israel if it would bring their Islamist problem to a close, it would actually change nothing. Additionally, Israel as the Jewish state is not going anywhere and is back to stay. Further, the United States is linked with Israel though there are signs that this bond may be weakening. The Democrat Party has decided that Israel is expendable while the Republican Party has become the pro-Israel party. This might appear strange as most Jews support the Democrat Party with blind passion. The reality comes down to the fact that the Evangelical Christians support Israel and are an important group for the Republican Party. Completely opposite of what many claim, often vindictively, the United States supports Israel because the Jews control the government when the reality is the largest group in the United States supporting Israel are the Christians. This is not hard to see, as Jews are, at most, a mere two and a half percent of the total population. Israel is once again a political football which will be fumbled by many amongst the Democrat Party only to now be picked up by the Republican Party, a change from the earlier periods of Israel. The United States may find itself more alone in supporting Israel and this could lead to more challenges ahead. There are some who predict that the United States may soon find Israel too much a burden to continue their support and this leads these people to claim that once Israel no longer has American protection they will face an isolation which could spell the end of Israel. They claim that Israel is completely dependent upon American military aid.

The reality is that Israel can survive without the military aid providing Israel takes the steps necessary to become self-sufficient militarily. This would require Israel to begin making their own weaponry including the ammunition. Israel currently uses the .223 ammunition which is consistent with NATO despite Israel not belonging to NATO. The advantage is Israel manufactures this ammunition, as do numerous nations. Israel makes very fine rifles and their Merkava tank is first rate. They are capable in almost every area with two main weaknesses, ships and aircraft. The Israeli Navy is dependent upon Germany for her submarines which are all Dolphin class and depends on European shipyards for their Corvette class ships. Israel might be capable of constructing her own ships and even submarines if pressed as she does much of the outfitting of her ships and adapting the submarines to fit her requirements. The challenge Israel would face would be manufacture of her own aircraft, something Israel should start to consider seriously. Israel is receiving the United States fifth generation fighter F-35 JSF. This is a decent stealth airframe but they are also very expensive. Fortunately, the United States gave Israel financial assistance, something which will become more difficult as the United States debt situation grows, for reasons which historians will be dumbfounded to explain, makes supporting anybody impossible. Israel has sufficient GDP to afford the costs of developing her own aircraft and the additional jobs would be a boost to her economic health providing well paying jobs. Further, Israel could enter into the arms market and if past developments of technology, then any aircraft she produced would very likely be of a quality worthy of competing with that of any other nation and in demand on the world market. The avionics for the export model along with weapons targeting and other systems would be different than those she produced for her own use which is the same as every other nation. Most nations prefer placing their own systems of avionics and weapons rather than depend on other nations systems for such sensitive equipment.

Israel also has to take charge of the entire peace process. This can only be accomplished once Israel is completely self-sufficient militarily and in most other industries as well as food production leaving very little to outside providers. Israel is one of the few, if not the only, nation which could conceivably face a complete embargo from the industrialized world or even the entire world. This would mean that Israel would, and needs to face this soon if not immediately, needs to rely totally on her own production of weapons, food, automobiles and all other products which Israelis could need or simply desire. Finally, many of these items from cell phones to cherry tomatoes to software were invented or developed in Israel. The gaps which Israel faces also includes their not having a domestic vehicle, car or trucks of all sizes, production but for a nation with the capabilities Israel has shown, they will most likely produce a vehicle which runs on air and water. Any nation capable of such inventiveness will pull through despite what challenges the world throws at her. And the peace will only work when the reputed but disputed words of Golda Meir, “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”
