Why Does Israel Continue to Exist Today?

Ask the average American irreligious or slightly religious Jew, many call them secular Jews or twice a year Jews who only visit the synagogue for the High Holidays and celebrate Hanukkah almost as if it were the Jewish Christmas even to having what they call a Hanukkah Bush (it really is a Christmas Tree with a six pointed star on top instead of a five pointed star). Ask the Jewish leadership of the Anti-Defamation League. Ask Rabbi Rick Jacobs, President of the Union for Reform Judaism. Ask Gideon Levy who writes for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. Ask J-Street, B’Tselem, Peace Now or any of the plethora of misnamed human rights groups which act as Palestinian Arab critical support and fifth column against Israeli interests. The list of people and groups one can ask extends throughout Europe and the entire world with an ever growing number vocally screaming foul over the latest law passed by the Knesset which makes the Jewish communities anywhere west of the Jordan River legal, even those in the, dare we say it, West Bank, formerly known as Judea and Samaria for close to three thousand years. All these protesters keep repeating that this law will destroy the Israeli democracy and disenfranchise Arabs in Israel. This is total bunk. The Israeli Arabs will not be affected by this law in any way or by any means, period. Arabs will still be permitted to work in any position they are qualified to and desire, they will continue to be doctors, nurses, lawyers, Ministers in the Knesset, judges including on the Supreme Court, drivers, construction, engineering or anything they can dream. They will still own their homes, live where they choose, attend schools of their choice, attend church, Mosque, Synagogue or other religious institution of their choice, drive, ride all forms of transportation, vote in all elections and everything else as citizens of Israel. Guess that democracy thing will survive.

I hear the yelling already, “What about the Palestinians voting?” Well, tell you what, whenever Mahmoud Abbas decides that elections are due, then they can have elections. Abbas is serving his twelfth year of a four year term which started in January 2005. The reason the Palestinian Arabs have not voted is because the Palestinian Authority, which means Mahmoud Abbas who has become its dictatorial ruler, has suspended their democratic processes as Abbas knows he would never win in a fair election and the deceit necessary to have him win is beyond his personal ability to manage as there are those standing ready for any opportunity to replace him. Israel has absolutely no control over elections for the Palestinian authority any more than it has over elections in Gaza ruled by Hamas. Where Israel is often faulted for the lack of opportunity to vote for their government by the Arab Palestinians, it has no validity and nothing to do with Arab Israelis who have full rights and do vote in Israeli elections. What happens to the Palestinian Arabs has more to do with their true intentions and the actual and real meaning and purpose of the State of Israel. We will try and clarify both in the remainder of this article and hope we can at least set a few misconceptions straight.

First, let us cover the easiest misperception, that Israel was founded to be a democracy. Not even slightly true. Israel was founded to be the homeland for the Jewish People. It is that simple. Read the Balfour Declarations (see image below) and you will see nary a word about democracy throughout. Read the San Remo Conference and again nary a word about elections, democracy or anything covering governance. Everything in every treaty, conference, document and even the Mandate Rules written by the League of Nations have no reference to democracy or anything about how the State of Israel was to be governed. The main points were that it was to be the homeland for the Jewish People and it could not deprive the residents residing in the land of their freedoms to own property, practice their religion and all civil and religious rights but says nothing about political rights. According to all of the laws etcetera regarding the making and founding of the State of Israel, the form of governance is completely unmentioned leaving it up to the Jews, the Zionists, to decide as they formed their nation. Technically, Israel could legally limit the right to vote to Jews or even to practicing Jews. Israel did not take that path. Israel gave full rights to their population whether Jewish or not. That is why Arabs are full voting citizens of the State of Israel as are many other peoples who were present or have been allowed citizenship as refugees from persecution. The Arabs who remained in Israel did not join the Arab forces who attacked Israel in the 1948 Arab War of Genocidal Intent launched by the Arab World on Israel’s founding morning of May 15, 1948.

Balfour Declaration and Initial Proposed Map and Lands

Initial Proposed Map and Lands

As a result of that war, what in Israel is euphemistically called the Israeli War of Independence and is celebrated as a victory as Israel survived, yet the reality comes to territory where Israel lost major parts of Judea and Samaria to Jordan who renamed that area the West Bank while Egypt took over the Gaza Strip. There were some Arab villages which harbored fighters which attacked the Israeli forces from behind the lines which lead to the Israeli forces dispossessing the entire village as that was the expedient way of addressing the situation most efficiently and immediately deciding that the villagers were at the least partially responsible for the use of their areas for staging a rear attack and that they were acting as a fifth column. Much has been misrepresented about these actions claiming that these villagers were dispossessed of their lands simply because they were Arabs and nothing else, ignoring their harboring of Arab forces which were planted in order to attack Israeli forces from behind and cutting off their routes of supply and assaulting the civilians claiming that every Jew was a legitimate target. These differences will never be resolved and can only be mitigated by what means will allow.

We have settled that the only real meanings behind the founding of Israel was to take some desert, swamp lands and rock strewn hills into the Jewish homeland. The few people residing in these lands at the end of World War I, a sparse set of peoples strewn here and there, were guaranteed their civil and religious rights such as continued ownership of lands, herds, business, residence and other properties as well as rights to worship in their traditional methods and follow their religions freely. The existing residents were not guaranteed political rights which were reserved technically for the Jewish People if this were the decision of the Zionist Congress upon the founding of the state. When Israel was founded on May 15, 1948 one might say that everything hit the fan as forces from more than a half dozen Arab armies and militias attacked Israel from every possible direction. Peace was not achieved for over a year and when the decision of governance was finally addressed the leadership from the Zionist Congress and the other groups such as the Haganah reached the decision to extend full political rights to all the residents in the nation, Arabs, Jews, Christians, Bedouins, Druze, Baha’I and other smaller minority groups all as one democratic nation. This was the first actual decision on using a democracy and it is notable that the democracy was all inclusive of those who were not opposed to the Jews having their own state. This is how and why Israel is a democracy.

When the State of Israel was founded, the Palestinian Arabs were not citizens of Israel but were Arabs residing in Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia as well as some Iraqis, Turks, Yemenis and others who were part of the invading forces and who remained on the lands or were actually driven onto the lands by their governments in order to make what have become known as facts on the ground. The claims that all of the Palestinian Arabs came from inside Israel is a common factual lie which has been repeated so often with such force and echo-chamber reinforced, the world now accepts it as factual. This is the main drive behind the two state concept as the claim is Israel owes the remnant of her invaders their own nation. This misconception has poisoned the waters so permanently that a solution would be difficult if this was the sole difficulty. There is a further problem in that the Arabs do not believe that the Jews have any right to a homeland within what they see as the Muslim Ummah. Their claim is that throughout all history, which for the Muslims begins in 625, there have been no Jewish lands within the lands they conquered and colonized. The reality is that the Arabs have the longest running and most extensive colonial enterprise in world history. They also are under the belief that the problem with the world is that it has not yet, emphasis on yet, come under the rule of Allah and the dictatorial rule of Islam. Until they are disabused of this notion, Israel, as well as the world in total, can never feel safe from the next Islamic offensive, something the Europeans should remember from their own history as Islam has attacked through Spain only to be turned at Tours by Charles “the Hammer” Martel and twice from Turkey Ottoman Empire being turned back at the Battle of Vienna, the first attack being stopped in 1529 and the second assault turned back by Polish King John III Sobieski in 1683.

Israel, conceived, initiated and founded to be the homeland of the Jewish People has faced the difficulty of a Palestinian Arab irascible obstinacy demanding they are the rightful owners of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea and that the Jews have no rights in these lands and deserve to be exterminated. This has been their first, second, and final demand and they refuse to compromise and accept anything less. Their demands are often couched in coded verbiage such as their demanding they receive their 22% of the Mandate Lands. The western leadership will almost always take that to mean that they are demanding 22% of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea this meaning Judea and Samaria or Judea, Samaria and Gaza. What Abbas actually means and has explained as his meaning is 22% of the entire of the Mandate Lands, the 22% which consists of all the lands not taken to make Jordan which was 78% of the original Mandate Lands, the entire of the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. Yasser Arafat and after him Mahmoud Abbas both demanded that Israel be destroyed and replaced by Palestine. Abbas has actually offered one compromise; his idea of a two state solution. His two state idea is for an Arab Palestine which will be completely free of Jews and an Arab ruled State of Israel where the Jews have no rights and are allowed to live at the indulgence of their betters, the Arabs which will include over five million Arabs brought from refugee camps from around the Arab world and even within Judea and Samaria and Gaza and who knows how many additional Arabs who simply claim to be refugees seeking economic betterment. Anyway one cuts it, finding a solution which will satisfy the Palestinian Arab leadership and their Arab League backers, it would require sacrificing the Jewish State making the Jews once again stateless.

The problem with the Arab reasoning is that history did not begin in 625 AD, especially in the lands of Judea, Samaria and the rest of the lands of the Twelve Tribes of Israel (see map on right below). The Twelve Tribes of Israel were founded when Joshua crossed the Jordan River and defeated the first Canaanite King of Jericho. This was followed with another victory at Ai and continued until the Holy Lands were conquered following numerous tactical routes first heading through the central Judean hills, then southward and finally the northern areas (shown in the left map below). This conquest began approximately 1275 BCE. Since that time virtually every conquering empire outside those in the Americas, China, Japan, and Russia but even to including the Vikings if one believes that the Greeks were originally Vikings who found the Greek climate preferable to Scandinavia, surprise, surprise, and their Triremes were modified Long Ships; they all have invaded and occupied without ever naming Jerusalem as a capital city even for a province unless the province was expressly for the Jews as was the case under the Persian Empire of Cyrus the Great. The Jewish People have an extensively long history uninterrupted with Jews residing in the lands and especially in Jerusalem constantly starting soon after the entrance of Joshua through the expansive times under Kings David and Solomon through the First Temple Period, their Babylonian exile of most of the population and their subsequent return and building of the Second Temple and expanding the Temple Mount and the remainder of their history through to the modern period. That is the real history and Israel was founded recognizing the entirety of the history, not just that which is fancifully convenient for the Islamic sensibilities.

Then there is the biggest fallacy of them all, that Israel conquered Palestinian Lands in the Six Day War in 1967. First thing is there has never been anything called Palestine for their land to be stolen. Palestine is the name of the region and the original use of the term Palestinian was for the Jews during the British Mandate period where the Arabs were referred to as Arabs or Syrians, Jordanians, Iraqis, Druze, Bedouins, Egyptians or other designation of origin or tribe. When Israel regained the lands of Judea and Samaria in the 1967 Six Day War they were not conquering new lands, they were liberating their own lands which had been occupied by the Jordanians since the 1948 War. The only occupation of Judea and Samaria was by Jordan and the claim that Jordan gifted these lands to the Palestinian Arabs is a great misconception, a great invention of propaganda. The lands were originally and always Israeli and were occupied by Jordan. One cannot give away stolen lands and thus Jordan could not gift the lands to the Palestinian Arabs as it was stolen land occupied illegally by Jordan. The entire world with the exception of Britain and Pakistan refused to recognize these lands as Jordanian. Even Egypt and the Arab League refused to recognize the Jordanian occupation. Lastly, Jordan signed a peace with Israel surrendering the occupied lands of Judea and Samaria back to Israel and it was not until two years after that treaty that Jordan officially claimed to have gifted the lands to Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian Arabs. That makes these lands doubly not Jordanian to give as they were not even occupying the lands when they claimed to have given them away. What is next, the Iranians claiming they gave away Hollywood to the Arab Palestinians community of Southern California? That would be just as legal as the Jordanian claims to have given land they did not even possess at the time to the Palestinian Arabs and they even made the claim retroactive to attempt to grant it some degree of validity. That simply does not wash and the land remains Israeli until such time as Israel gives it away in a treaty, something seeming more and more remote by the day.

Israel Prepares for New Reality

For quite some time Israel has seen the writing on the wall and knew she was not prepared for what lies ahead in her future. She had absorbed influxes of immigrants over the years with varying levels of effectiveness. There was the initial pouring in of European Jews who survived World War II and the European death camps. This is the only influx of immigrants most of the world remembers and thus get the warped opinion that Israel is simply a European colony. The second influx of immigrants laid that misconception aside as false as these were the nearly one million Jews expelled from across the Arab and Muslim worlds from Pakistan to Morocco and Turkey to the Sudan to Yemen and beyond. These Asian, Middle Eastern and North African Jews comprise almost half the population of Israel at the time of the Six Day War in June of 1967. There have been subsequent waves of immigration with the largest single source being Russian Jews many of which spent time in work camps while others simply took advantage of a means to leave the Soviet Union. Other immigrant waves were less in numbers but some of those Israel is most proud to have found the means to settle and incorporate into the population. There were the Ethiopian Jews who have been airlifted from camps in Ethiopia and other Ethiopian Jews have made their way to Israel through airlifts and some by their own volition. There were the Bnei Menashe Jews from India and various other groups of Jews from the world over.

Israel is truly a multi-ethnic nation as well as multi-religious with approximately twenty percent of the Israeli population made up of Arabs, both Christian and Muslim, who enjoy the full rights as citizens of the State of Israel. There are Arabs in the Knesset, they are judges, doctors, nurses, teachers and virtually every other profession one can think of and have their own churches and Mosques worshiping as they please. They vote in all elections and are equal citizens in every aspect bar none. There is also a community of Bahá’í who have two shrines in Israel, one near the recognized heritage site outside of Akko on Israel’s northern coast and the other on Mount Carmel in Haifa (see image below). These are the resting places of Baha’u’llah and the Bab, the founders of the Bahá’í Faith. Israel and India are the sole nations with such Bahá’í religious structures and grounds. The Bahá’í Faith was founded in Iran in the mid-19th century in Iran where the religion is all but outlawed today.

Things in Israel are about to change with yet two more waves of immigration by Jews to come. The first has already started and will result in the many European Jews and remaining Jews throughout the world with two main exceptions, Canada and the United States, will begin their exodus to Israel though a fair number of European Jews may choose to immigrate to the United States given half an opportunity. The European influx has already begun with France, Sweden, the Ukraine and the Balkan States being the early entries as anti-Semitism grows once again across the continent. Perhaps by now we should call it the Dark Continent of Europe as its history of anti-Semitism dates back to the early Greeks through the Roman and Byzantine Empires and continued through every age of Europe with Jews often keeping a couple of suitcases packed in case the family had no time to pack before leaving. There were those who believed anti-Semitism was a monstrous evil which had been put in its grave but alas that did not even prove true for Europe, let alone the MENA States (Middle East and North Africa). What was disparaging was one particular result of the worldwide anti-Semitism study which found that some seventy percent of those considered anti-Semitic said they have never met a Jew. That has to be one of the most vexing discoveries from the universal study of anti-Semitism in the world today. Still, such does not alter the fact that anti-Semitism is on the rise in Europe and if truth be told, also in the United States. There remains approximately one and a quarter to one and a half million Jews across Europe which is one reason there has been such a concentration on building new apartments within the Green Line and any demographic scientist would point out that Israel does not have sufficient lands to support the entirety of the World Jewish population, though that is a definitive possible future. Where Israel would face incredible difficulties would be should the nearly six and a half million Jews from the Americas (North, South and Central America) move in great numbers to Israel as this would be a doubling of the Israeli population when adding in the coming Europeans whether these Europeans first settle in North America or come straight to Israel. These demographic bombs are part of the reason that Israel must insist that she be granted what was promised by the Oslo Accords and be permitted to annex at a minimum the lands of Area C.

That brings us to the election of Donald Trump, a man who might become the most supportive President concerning Israel. It is undeniable that the Republican Platform plainly states that they no longer support the two state solution. President elect Trump has stated he does not see the “settlements” as a problem for making peace. One advantage Donald Trump has is that he fully understands contracts and can read the Oslo Accords and the promises and preconditions placed into that agreement and the related United Nations Resolution and realize at no point does anything demand Israel vacate all of the lands won in their defensive war in 1967 and the Six Day War and 1973 and the Yom Kippur War. It is obvious that Israel having returned the Sinai Peninsula and given up Gaza has already fulfilled any obligation for returning lands and that the main reason there has been no peace reached between Israel and the Arab Palestinians has been the Arab intransigence demanding the total destruction of Israel as a Jewish State, let alone the Jewish State. Between the Republican Platform and statements from Donald Trump an end to this decades’ long nightmare might actually be forthcoming.

This likely also explains the opposite voting patterns between American Jews residing in the United States and American Jews residing in Israel. In the United States it was reported that approximately, if not more than, three-quarters of Jews voted for Hillary Clinton while Israeli Jews and Orthodox Jews in the United States voted over three-quarters for Donald Trump. This last fact, especially orthodox Jews, of Jewish support for President elect Trump should dispel the ugly rumor that Donald Trump harbor anti-Semitic feelings. He will be the first American President with Jewish grandchildren as well as a daughter who has converted to Judaism (see images below). Trump’s chosen Middle East and Israel advisors support Israel and the Zionist enterprise of reestablishing the ancient home of the Jewish People with Jerusalem as its political and religious Capital City. Of course everything remains to be seen and what will be borne out after the State department gets their say into the mix will remain to be seen.

The final concern which Israel very well may face in the future would be the near unthinkable of anti-Semitism becoming so strongly engaged by populations the world over that Israel becomes the sole refuge from the storm. This would most certainly double the population of Israel and as what starts with the Jews rarely ends there, the potential for certain, if not all, Christians becoming victims of secular purges where any religion outside secular humanism are chased from the world’s societies. There are many who claim that the numbers of Christians would prevent such from ever coming to fruition in the Western world. The problem is looking at the Western world, especially Europe, and one sees a land destitute of Christians. The churches and cathedrals stand with empty pews Sunday after Sunday with some being sold to be torn down, used for Mosques or any other assorted uses. Should Christianity face the same withering assault from secular purists they too might seek refuge where religion still has a home, Israel and certainly areas in South America and Central and Southern Africa and Asia. There can be little denial that much of Western society no longer finds a place for religion and in a couple more generations such a trend to believe in mankind and the governments that man creates could lead to a cleansing of what would be viewed as a backward and suspicious practice with archaic structures and beliefs which would have no place in the perfect world presumably designed by man dedicated to pure intellect. For me, just leave me be and let me know how that works out in the end. I have my suspicions and they do not appear to be pretty, at least not as pretty as the secular humanists like to paint their bleak existence.

Coming of Obama’s Parting Shot @ Israel

President Obama, contrary to many leftist American Jews’ commentaries and letters to editors, has a quite high animosity towards Israel which has been evident from his Cairo speech onward. We will grant that we have been experiencing a calmed and quieted President Obama concerning Israel over the summer. That changed this week on the slightest of provocations. Israel announced their intention to continue with a previously announced building of homes in the Jewish community of Shiloh. These homes are being built in order to provide the families whose homes in a nearby community are to be destroyed in response to President Obama and the State Department efforts. Apparently President Obama and the State department desired these Jews be forced from beyond the 1949 Armistice line, the Green Line, and within the indefensible pre June 1967 borders. By the way, the belief that the pre June 1967 borders, the Green Line, being indefensible is not just the Israeli government’s belief but has been the position of numerous American Presidents, Secretary of States, Defense Secretaries and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Pentagon and other Generals. Should Israel ever be forced back within those previous borders the midsection of the country in and around Tel Aviv will be a mere nine miles. Yes, Israel would be pushed into a border with her midsection only nine miles wide which, just for reference, is less than half the width of Washington, D.C. Yet there are rumors that President Obama is planning a last ditch ambush against Israel to punish Netanyahu and Israel for not making his Nobel Peace Prize valid and of having been awarded with valid foresight. The editorials and other commentaries criticizing the Nobel Committee for getting carried away over the election of the first President of the United States of color in their rush to award President Obama with the Nobel Peace Prize had even some within the Nobel Central Committee suggesting that the award be negated in the view of the actual record of President Obama’s Administration. Perhaps this might be President Obama’s effort to validate his being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on the backs of the safety and possible future of Israel and her people.

Obama Kerry believe greatest threat to world peace war criminal worst human rights record United States enemy responsible for all wars in Middle East and North Africa is Netanyahu

Some have questioned what might be the real harm behind such a United Nations passing of such a resolution. There have been almost countless United Nations General Assembly Resolution and official denunciations from the Human Rights Council against Israel and Israel has survived them all quite nicely even to include the 1975 Zionism as racism General Assembly Resolution which was finally repealed some sixteen years later. Would another meaningless and unenforceable United Nations General Assembly generated piece of paper actually have any deleterious effects on Israel and the day to day life of the average Israeli? Well, that depends on whether what President Obama is intending to pursue is simply a harmless General Assembly Resolution or whether he is intent on something with more weight and potentially even some teeth to the motion. Granted, much of what might be accomplished at the United Nations, especially in the General Assembly where anything anti-Israel has a sort of built in guarantee of passage, would not be all that threatening but that is not what we expect from what we have been capable of gathering and assume from our efforts.

President Obama has had the vision of himself as the man who ultimately ended the Israeli-Palestinian Arab conflict and he has been determined since his very first day in the White House when he made his very first official phone call from the Oval Office to Mahmoud Abbas even before calling any actual head of state. There have been unconfirmed rumors about the content of that phone call which White House official commentary has passed off as being cordial but nothing of substance nor should any importance be placed in the call without proof that there were any guarantees or promises of intent communicated. Such a disclaimer reeks of something worth concealing being the reality and we have suspected that President Obama, filled with the grand visions of himself as some great communicator and a special individual with privilege and promise greater than his predecessors did in fact give guarantees to Mahmoud Abbas that he would press forward and bring about the Palestinian State which the President himself believed in his heart was the right and proper thing that was on the right side of history, and we all know President Obama’s sense of importance on things he perceives to be on the right side of history, whether that be the real side or not being unimportant. President Obama has criticized Vladimir Putin for being on the wrong side of history expecting that such a criticism would force President Putin to alter his plans and prevent him from such dangerous actions which would fall on the wrong side of history such as invading the Ukraine or interfering in President Obama’s plans in Syria. This right side of history theme plays a large part in President Obama’s views of the world and he also appears to believe that he has this special ability to judge what is and is not on the right side of history, and a Palestinian State is on his perceived right side of history as has been the Iran Nuclear Deal while Prime Minister Netanyahu is on the wrong side of History.

It is our conjecture that President Obama is not planning on a General Assembly Resolution calling for the formation of a Palestinian State with the Green Line as its borders and that all Israeli towns and other structures and settlements are merely unhelpful and undesired as they are preventing the settlement of the conflict. This is mere restating of what he and others have claimed in ever increasing volume and irascibility. President Obama has not given up on settling the conflict in what he views as the correct and properly fair manner which is, of course, the right side of history. As he sees history, Israel was illegally formed and has stolen Palestinian Arab lands as the Jews are a people of ill will; evil, dark hearts who have aggressively strode to steal ever more Arab Palestinian homeland and probably never should have been given the land for their state in 1948 or ever and do not deserve a nation of their own as they are to be punished to roam the world living at the kindness of others whom they repay with spite and poisoning their host’s lands and are accursed by Heaven and are the spawn of Satan. Simply stated, he agreed with every sermon condemning the Jews he ever heard in the Reverend Wright’s Mosque disguised as a church and was a friend and believer with Edward Said, Louis Farrakhan and Rashid Ismail Khalidi. These men were among the fomenters of President Obama’s feud with Israel and desire to destroy Israel through whatever means he was able and he sees that opportunity slipping from his grasp and will take whatever measures he feels will be effective in setting in motion the eventual destruction of Israel and by doing so rid the world of the Jew.

So what is it we fear that President Obama will be pursuing and at what point in his remaining weeks should his actions be expected. President Obama cannot act before the election and will remain mute while he will have others deny, deny, deny and deny any accusations no matter what evidence may be presented and will call on some of his “Jewish” friends to defend him such as the leaders of J-Street and friends from academia who share his distaste for Israel. Once the election has passed and the Christmas “Winter” break approaches and congress is ready to run for the hills, or from the Hill, he will arrange for a quiet, low key and unpublicized meeting of the Security Council where only those nations desired will be formally invited with the rest receiving the information of the meeting the night before. President Obama will then have presented a Resolution recognizing the State of Palestine with the Green Line as its borders and East Jerusalem as its Capital City. Where we believe he will actually go so far as to make the proposal a Chapter Seven Resolution which is enforceable by the use of military intervention if any side does not comply appropriately and within a reasonable period of time, he may still be persuaded to simply settle for a Chapter Six Resolution which is a strong and insistent demand which will be accepted by the vast majority of nations, does not allow for the use of military force to enforce the resolution, just economic and other methods including removing embassies and ambassadors, economic sanctions, diplomatic pressures and anything else as long as it remains short of military intervention. The reason he might not call for a Chapter Seven is should Donald Trump have won the election he knows that there would be little if any chance that his resolution no matter its wording would be enforced by the United States which pretty much means it would not be enforced. But should Hillary have won the election, President Obama would be free to go for all the marbles knowing that at worst a President Hillary Clinton would do little if anything to prevent military enforcement and would pretend her hands were tied and implement heavy political and economic pressures including an end to all aid to Israel and perhaps arming Arab forces and provide them with protective air support in forcing Israel to comply with President Obama’s final efforts. This could be done even against the will of Congress providing the efforts did not go beyond the Presidential prerogative for use of force. Going further could bring on charges of impeachment but should there be sufficient Democrat membership in congress, President Hillary Clinton could even ignore all limitations knowing she was safe from being fully impeached by both houses such that even if she were charged she would not be convicted.

As far as what could prevent President Obama from taking such actions, the answer is unfortunately, “Nothing.” Should he decide that such would establish for him his rightful place in history, on the right side of history as he sees it, then he will likely do as he sees fit. The minimum would be a simple General Assembly Resolution which would be next to meaningless but still fulfill his promises to see to the recognition of statehood for the Palestinians even despite such an action having no teeth. Such an effort would take little extra action as such a proposed Resolution, as stated before, would breeze through the General Assembly and could be accomplished even if he waited until after the New Year as he has the first three weeks before the inauguration to do as he feels proper and Congress does not return until the week of the inauguration and does not convene until after the inauguration. Anything done in January would be performed without any interference from Congress or ratification from Congress, of course. Congress is unlikely to approve of whatever moves President Obama chooses but that would have little effect on the General Assembly as they have often thumbed their noses at the United States Congress and also the President when it suited their mood of the moment. Any Security Council Resolution would eventually require the confirmation as if a treaty by Congress which would present problems for the United States supporting the action of the American President, even if a ‘lame duck’ in his final moments. Should the Resolution be a Chapter Seven Security Council Resolution then it would most definitively require Congressional ratification just as if it were a treaty, something the Senate would be unlikely to approve. As for what effect that would have on the United Nations Security Council actions is a wholly different kettle of fish. Finally, there is also the possibility that the Security Council Resolution could be introduced by a nation other than the United States and in order to avoid any fallout President Obama could simply have the United States abstain and not work against the resolution knowing that by doing such he would be granting the effort a tacit approval which would influence the other permanent members of the Security Council to at worst also abstain thus allowing it to very probably pass as some of the other members would still support such a measure. There is one other possibility, that of one of the other permanent members using their veto thus ending the resolution and if it were a Chapter Seven Resolution we are willing to bet that is exactly what would be the case. The nations most likely to use their veto might surprise many but we would expect either China or Russia to be the veto wielding savior. So, imagine an American President attempting to use the Security Council of the United Nations to have the world force Israel to surrender all lands gained in the 1967 Six Day War and retreat behind the Green Line and the Russians or the Chinese vetoing the Resolution foiling the efforts of the President of the United States. That would be the ultimate embarrassment and there could be no more fitting manner in which to provide President Obama with the award of being consistently on the wrong side of history in his entire eight years as President.

As far as counting on anything to counter any actions intended by President Obama as he got on average three-quarters of the Jewish vote in his two elections if not higher. About the only Jews who can be definitively counted upon to raise the roof are the ZOA (Zionist Organization of America) who will be left talking while the phone has been secured under a cushion and the aide has left the room. There is nothing that the American Jews would even be willing to do as there will be at least as high a percentage voting for Hillary Clinton as voted for President Obama and most of the rest are represented by the ZOA or are Orthodox Jews likely residing in the New York greater metropolitan area and thus their votes even ifnot for Hillary will make little if any difference unless the all but unthinkable happens and New York State becomes a close race and Trump actually has even the slightest of hopes. That is unlikely but we can hope.

So what can be done and is it possible? What can be done is risk it all and have Prime Minister Netanyahu call the American Amabassador to his office, have the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations call the American Ambassador to his office, have the Israeli Ambaddador to the United States call the Secretary of State for an urgent meeting, and if refused, then leave a letter at the White House addressed to the President and hand delivered all with a single message. Should President Obama use the Security Council for any resolution establishing a Palestinian State or declaring the 1949 Armistice Lines as a recognized border, Israel will take action. These lines are also called the Green Line, the one President Obama misnames as the 1967 lines, as they were not established in 1967 but were corrected in 1967. The action Israel would take should the United States seek official recognition of such as a border by the Security Council, would be to establish the Jordan River as the border as it is legally under all international laws including at least one treaty ratified by the United States when stating and signing on to agreements that the San Remo Conference was a valid document and the Treaty of Sèvres and all others based on San Remo are valid in signifying the borders for the Jewish State.

This establishment of the proper and legal borders will not permit a single Palestinian to become a citizen immediately and will establish the officers, leaders and security force officers and all of the special forces as personna non grata in Israel and provide them with two weeks to find new living arrangements. All of the Palestinian Security Forces will have forty eight hours to turn in their weapons and each will be reviewed and may potentially be hired for the new police force under Israeli police command. Some may even be granted their former rank and even placed in command positions if they check to have no connections to terrorist entities past or present. Finally, the citizens of the Palestinian Authority will be permitted to remain and will continue to have their businesses, their homes, their jobs if they work for an Israeli owned company, and some employees if requested by companies which relocated within Israel due to the BDS boycotts may be granted work entry permits to return to their former positions should the company so request. After a year there will be decision made as to whether and the procedure that interested Arabs formerly under the Palestinian Authority government will be permitted to start the procedures for Israeli citizenship. Within six months of that date there will be free and open election in the former areas of the Palestinian Authority under Israeli supervision. Former Palestinian Authority citizens will be granted local voting rights in their areas but should they move they will be required to seek Israeli citizenship once a procedure is established before being granted the vote. As the Palestinian Authority citizens will initially be considered alien residents, they will not have rights to vote in Israeli general elections as that will remain reserved for Israeli citizens, including any of the Palestinian Authority Arabs who gain such citizenship. Israel will immediately take over the police and security functions and all radio and television and cable networked shows and start a review to see if they meet with Israeli broadcast regulations and laws before being permitted back on the air. Other problems will be handled as they present themselves and any terrorist activity will be punished by immediate repatriation to their country of origin or any nation they might choose who will accept them even to include the United States.

An example might be the Palestinian Authority Registrar for the National Palestinian Committee for Education, Culture and Science who was not only not from the Israeli area but his name tells his nationality as he is from Sudan as the rest of Murad Al-Sudani clan originated. He is the Secretary General as listed on their official site here about half way down the page. He is far from the only officer or person of importance as most of the higher ranking persons, Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas amongst them, are of foreign origins, another of the dirty little secrets which are constantly denied and all proof ignored by the rest of the world as their desired future lies with an Arab extinguishing of Israel. That alone should have been enough reason for the PLO, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and their gangs be removed and law and order replace the kleptocrats stealing the people blind and sent packing giving peace and real opportunity returned to the decent people of the West Bank and Gaza, and there are a number of decent people who are mostly scared to death and must watch their every utterrance. They deserve better and a fair opportunity for a productive life.
