Yariv Oppenheimer and the Politics of the Radical Left

Why are we writing about the radical left while ignoring the alt-Right? That is easy, because all you need do to find out everything which is defined as evil on the right is watch the mainstream media. We are going to talk about a specific radical leftist who is seeking to become a Minister of the Knesset in the upcoming elections. How so we know this person is a radical leftist. Well, perhaps the first hint is his name and history. His name is Yariv Oppenheimer and his claim to fame was his being the former director of the Peace Now movement. He has spent much of his active life demanding that Israel pull back to the Green Line, divide Jerusalem and give the Palestinian Authority everything they demand and then there will be peace. Of course, he does not bother to explain why there was terrorism against Israelis before the Six Day War when Israel was within the Green Line. He does not explain why there were violent attacks on Jews in Hevron and Jerusalem in the 1920’s and 1930’s while the British ruled and there was no Israel. He has no reason for why the earliest Zionists had to have women with rifles sit atop their vehicles and guard the men while they were digging the irrigation channels and waterworks in the late 1800’s when the initial development of the future Jewish state was undertaken. He also ignores the calls in the Quran and by Mullahs around the world who call on Muslims to murder Jews throughout history right up to the modern times both in the Western world as well as the Islamic world. But allow us to now move on to some recent quotes where he frames his political views and those who he describes as being on the right or far right, well, at least not on the left.

Yariv Oppenheimer stated, while calling on his supporters to back his bid for a place on the Meretz Party list in their primaries, “In the next Knesset there must be a strong representative for the Peace camp.” But wait, he has more to say including, “Imagine the next Knesset for a moment, Yesh Atid – not left, Gantz/Yaalon – not left, Gabbay – not left, Kahlon – not left, Orly Levy – not left.” Gabbay, the leader of the Zionist Union from the Labor Party is not left, from what perspective? Yesh Atid and Ganz/Yaalon and even Kahlon would be considered left of center if not leftists by most pundits, but not Yariv Oppenheimer. But he had more to ask, demand, state, whatever, saying, “They will not fight against the occupation, they will not fight settlers’ representatives, they will not defend human rights organization, they will not stand up against the Smotrichim (referring to Jewish Home MK Bezalel Smotrich) and Hotovelys (Likud Dep. Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely). The Knesset is the most important arena in Israeli politics and I will not be abandoned. That is why I want to be there, to make a sharp and clear voice, to fight and win. To deal with the Right on the committees, in the plenum, in the media. To help the Left regain the trust and heart of the public.” These quotes can be found reported on Arutz Sheva.

From the view of Yariv Oppenheimer, the Meretz Party would be considered the neutral center and perhaps the communists might be left of center if not fellow travelers in his idea of middle of the road politics. Yariv Oppenheimer would probably find many of the European political leaders to be far on the right, as they have not broken off relations with Israel over its actions in the occupation. His entire measuring rod is based on the occupation where anybody who is not insisting that Israel surrender all the regions liberated in the Six Day War to form a new Arab state called Palestine. One can only ask him what Israel should do when the terrorism increases after such a surrender and the demand is for all of Israel just as it was before the Six Day War in the initial charter of the PLO written in 1964 with assistance from the KGB. He might actually advise that the Jews move returning to the countries from whence they came. One can only wonder where the Jews who were expelled by the Arab and Islamic worlds across MENA (Middle East and North Africa) will go. What should the Jews whose families have lived in Israel for two or three generations and others whose families trace their ancestry here in the Promised Land since the times of King David, where do these Jews go? Yariv Oppenheimer is one of those leftists with whom one cannot have a rational discussion because he had his own facts and no amount of evidence or truths can alter his rosy view of how the world could be if just everyone would listen to him and his friends on the extreme left. He knows that he and his fellow travelers are the only people who have the correct answers to all the world’s ills and who can heal every problem if they would just be given a chance.

Yariv Oppenheimer, formerly of Peace Now, Seeking Place on Meretz List

Where is our proof? Israel has had experience with such dreamers before, back in 1993 and the years of work behind the scenes in secret which brought forth the Oslo Accords. The Oslo Accords were designed secretively in Norway with assistance from the United States State Department using half a dozen Israelis; Ron Pundak and Yair Hirschfeld who began the negotiations before official Israeli involvement, then joined by Yossi Beilin who also was not part of the Israeli government, and finally including Shimon Peres (Foreign Minister), Uri Savir (former Director General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry and head of the Israeli negotiating team) and Yitzhak Rabin (Prime Minister). The team which devised the Oslo Accords were a group of left and far left individuals and politicians with some from academia and all avid peace activists who firmly believed that the fourteen-hundred years of anti-Semitic violence which crested and lulled only to swell into activity over and over since the formation of Islam and the slaughter of the Jews of Medina to the modern day simply by signing a peace of paper and returning to the original lines from which the Six Day War was initiated by Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and other Arab forces. These were the predecessors to the likes of Yariv Oppenheimer and his ilk, so it is not like his ideas are anywhere near new, but the left never fails, they just conveniently forget and when reminded they simply explain that that was then and their perfect answer to the problems may appear to be exactly the same but it is not because this is now. This answer always makes my head hurt because I know when I hear such poppycock that I am talking with one from the lunatic-left.

So, you ask why I claim that the Oslo Accords are a failure when they have never been fully implemented. Well, have you ever looked into what has been the impediment to such enactment? Well, even if you have, allow us to elaborate. When the Oslo Accords were introduced and accepted by the Israeli government at the time, the very same people who were the designers were also the government which was to implement these Accords and realize a real and lasting peace. What went wrong? Yasser Arafat is what went wrong as he refused to accept the peace plan he had just had a hand in forming claiming that it was not what he desired and that the only thing he was willing to accept was all of Israel with the Jews ruled by their superiors, the Arabs, more accurately, him. President Clinton then initiated the Camp David Summit where these talks came to a climax during a meeting in Paris. President Clinton received from Yasser Arafat what were the minimum demands he required to make peace. Then President Clinton met with the new Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak who, despite being provided with what Yasser Arafat had figured the American President would believe was acceptable and doable but that the Israelis would never agree, Ehud Barak balked, argued and in the end was cajoled into accepting the demands of Yasser Arafat. President Clinton went to bed leaving aids to process the agreement and inform both sides that Arafat’s demands were to be met by Barak. The next morning, President Clinton, Secretary of State Madeline Albright and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak along with subordinates were waiting for Yasser Arafat to join them for the signing in the main rotunda of the hotel lobby with the media prepared to witness this historic event. Yasser Arafat entered the lobby and walked past everyone down a hallway with Madeline Albright hustling to try and catch him and out the door into his car to the airport and back to Jordan. A last ditch effort was made as the Clinton Presidency was coming to a close called the Taba negotiations. These failed as Yasser Arafat refused to even offer any alternate position simply rejecting every offer made. If the actual initiators of the Oslo Accords were unable to forge a peace, how does Yariv Oppenheimer think making the same offers are going to succeed. We know, that was then and this is now and we will do it better.

There was another attempt at making peace when another leftist captured the office of Prime Minister with a Labor formed coalition in 2008 under Ehud Olmert. Mahmoud Abbas has admitted he rejected the offered peace plan. Again, this had followed pressure to force something out of Israel in 2005 which resulted in the Ariel Sharon Gaza Disengagement which was to allow for the Palestinian Authority to prove they could build operating governance with an economy and all the services and other specifics which go with such. This was the brainchild of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and fully backed by President George W. Bush. The Palestinian Authority failed miserably and then they lost Gaza to Hamas in a bloody coup in 2007 and the rest has been rockets, firebombs, incendiary balloons and kites and terror tunnels plus three wars and counting. One can only postulate and fear hearing what Yariv Oppenheimer claims he knew would solve the problems with Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza. Maybe he could solve the problem which has stymied Egypt and Saudi Arabia in uniting Hamas and Islamic Jihad back under Palestinian Authority rule, then maybe somebody might listen to what he has to offer.

What is frightening is that there are similarities between how the left won elections leading to the 1993 Oslo Accords and the 2008 offer by Ehud Olmert and the upcoming elections with one exception. In those past elections, Right Wing governments had collapsed and called elections. The parties on the right splintered into numerous parties behind the many different egoistic personalities with recriminations and accusations each calling the others out for splitting the vote. The Israelis were sickened by the acrimony and went for the left where there was apparent unity and thus a better sounding future plan for the nation. All because the numerous parties on the right spent much of their efforts tearing into the other parties from which they had split and then came the counter accusations all of which painted an ugly picture. It is no wonder that the left won these elections. Maybe the right has learned their lesson, maybe not, time will tell. The idea of a coalition from the left including Yariv Oppenheimer should be frightening enough to force those on the right to find the means of coming together for the love of Israel and to avoid yet another suicidal peace offer where ideas like the Gaza Disengagement are enacted. But the Gaza Disengagement was performed by a Likud leader who formed his own personal party, Kadima, which formed a coalition with numerous leftist Ministers of the Knesset joining others from the right all in a concerted effort to enact the demand from the United States of an Israel pullout from all of Gaza gifting it to the Arabs without receiving anything in return or demanding that they actually do anything except take the gift and turn it into a terrorist haven under Hamas after a coup.

This brings us to yet a different fear that even should Likud win a plurality and be chosen to form the next coalition, it is possible that Prime Minister Netanyahu, the leader in the Likud Party, could decide he has had it with the egos and personalities of the right, in particular the new split off parties if that becomes the case, and instead of attempting to form a delicately balanced right wing government, he could form what is laughingly called a National Unity Government which is presumably a left and right coalition. This was what Kadima claimed to have formed which resulted in the Gaza Disengagement. Such governments have a problem in that the driving spring of momentum is driven not by the right wing party which formed the government coalition but by the left wing parties as they press the need for their numbers to prevent a collapse of the coalition. One might accurately call forming such a government as dancing with the devil as the result almost always is that the left gets their way but the right wing agenda is buried. One can bet that if Meretz were included in such a coalition and Yariv Oppenheimer made his way onto their list and into the Knesset, the one thing we can guarantee, he will never remain silent and will press and press until his ideas are implemented simply because he knows so much more than everyone else and his ideas are those which will bring perfection in the relations between the Palestinians and Israelis by applying the exact same things which have never worked previously. Yariv Oppenheimer’s difficulty is that he is unable to perceive the reality that the Palestinians, like the Arabs of the Khartoum Resolution where they agreed to the Three No’s, “no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with Israel.” There is an even easier interpretation of the Khartoum Resolution, “No Israel,” which is the reason that nothing which allows the Jews to rule over themselves in any region would be acceptable. Even were the Jews to make a self-supporting domed colony on Mars completely independent of the Earth, the Islamic World would still demand that they be given that colony simply because the Jews must always be under their care and never to rule themselves or anyone else. But do not feel left out, according to the Quran, Islam will rule the world and everybody will submit to Islam and Allah. As has often been stated, what starts with the Jews never ends with the Jews. Meanwhile, there is a person who believes that the furthest left wing party, or at least extremely close to furthest left wing, has claimed that everything right of him including Labor, Hatnuah, Zionist Union, Yesh Atid, Ganz/Yaalon and even Kahlon, all are either far left, left, left-leaning, left-center or at worst center with a little toe pointing to the right as far right wing anti-peace parties. The first thing which all need know is that there is no party in all of Israel which is anti-peace though there are some anti-surrender. Yariv Oppenheimer is politically so far left he probably cannot see the center and would be an ally of Bernie Sanders in the United States or possibly claim that Bernie was a right wing fanatic, really.

The Man with the Iron Grip

There is a politician who controls his party to such an extent that anybody whose popularity rises to a point where they might pose as a rival, their continued ability for recognition becomes subsumed by inner party politics. They soon find themselves placed so far down on the party list for the Knesset that their hopes are dashed. Once not in the Knesset their ability to receive media coverage shrinks and before one realizes, they are no longer in the public eye. Through this maneuvering, along with his group of close supporters who aid in these maneuvers, this man remains the leader of his party and in line to become Prime Minister should his party prove to be chosen to form a coalition after elections. Add to this that his party has a near monopoly on right-wing and nationalist politics; he has remained Prime Minister for closing in on a decade. Additionally, he has made arrangements; some might call them deals, with those who might challenge from other parties such that his party and he remain the sole apparent leaders for his nation. This remains the appearance of politics for the upcoming future.

Despite opposition groups who have powerful positions investigating he and his wife continuously even managing to wrench out an indictment every so often, these attempts to mire him with criminal acts always have fallen short as they often consist of wisps of hope and despair. These leftists will never rest, as their belief that they alone are the ones with the only correct and legitimate solutions despite their previous attempts when enacting such solutions have all resulted in disaster after disaster. Still, they scream and shout about how everything being done is wrong-headed and will result in the end of the nation’s legitimacy. They stomp around demanding that their righteous solutions must be enacted immediately if the nation is to survive. Fortunately, the people have come to realize that the opposite of this is true, which has cemented this man referenced above as Prime Minister.

What about the leadership of the other parties, one might query. Once, in an election cycle, there was the drive which placed one such person as a potential rival for Prime Minister. This election also had a strong alliance of a group of leftist parties in an attempt to garner enough support from their collaboration that they would receive the nod to form the coalition. The long-serving Prime Minister struck a gentlemen’s agreement with this challenger who then made a statement which removed any consideration of granting him the leadership of the nation. His party suffered a great loss of votes as many who would have supported him immediately reconsidering and casting their vote for the only other choice and the man was returned to power. This other party has now been struck sufficiently hard by this deal that they will need years to claw and climb back into contention.

The sole other party which might challenge for the Prime Ministership has as their leader a man who many perceive him as just not quite what they desire in a leader. He has great name recognition and support, largely from leftward leaning supporters with a smattering of those on the middle-right. He has made those right-leaning supporters before the public to enhance his claim that he is just as right-wing and just as nationalist as the current Prime Minister. Many find that a shaky proposition and remember his claims to support the Two State solution and other leftist ideas. He is finding his support and loud claims of this being the central idea for his solution to the greatest problems facing the nation as a legacy he just cannot escape. This will very likely prevent his ever becoming the Prime Minister.

Right Wing or Left Wing

Right Wing or Left Wing

The other right-wing, nationalist and religious parties are too small to make a challenge unless one was to find somebody who would shine bright enough to mount a formidable challenge. Perhaps one of the former rising stars from the Prime Minister’s party might form a party and present an alternative. The problem with such is as a former member of the Prime Minister’s party, he would face the charge of seeking to aggrandize himself potentially at the nation’s risk. This could be sufficient to sink such a campaign. But the real problem lies elsewhere.

Currently, another right-leaning, nationalist, religious and Zionist party has proposed a piece of legislation in conjunction with a member of the Prime Minister’s party which would remove the 2005 disengagement plan which gave Gaza and Northern Samaria to the Palestinian Authority (PA) so they could prove their ability and capacity to build a functioning society which had proper governance and economic development such as is the aim of most nations’ governments. The PA lost the Gaza to Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations which have provoked war after war with conflict a constant ever since their coup in 2007. One need not look far to see the disaster Gaza has become. Many claim their problem is their disastrous economic condition and claim that is what drives their terrorist acts and violence. The actual problem is their total fixation by their leadership to destroy Israel and their subverting revenues and resources which could be used to feed the economy and provide the necessities which governments presumably are to provide and the insistence to pay for building rockets, infiltration tunnels and paying people to commit acts of violence and terror that causes the economic problems.

That still leaves the areas in Northern Samaria where the PA could have built a functional society. Instead of investing in the future of the society, Mahmoud Abbas has lined his, his families and his cohort of collaborators pockets and diverted ever increasing portion of the remaining funds to pay terrorists and their families funds in proportion to the numbers of Israelis they managed to murder. This has ended the opportunities for those under the rule of the PA. This is despite their receiving disproportionate amounts of international aid. Such is the proof that granting the PA the opportunity to provide a functional society has disastrously failed. Thus, legislation to end the ban on Israelis entering these territories is in order. When this disengagement was enacted, Jews were evicted from the communities of Homesh, Sa-Nur, Ganim and Kadim. This law would allow these families, many of whom still have not found new homes and live in temporary mobile units, to return to their homes and rebuild their lives. This would not in any way alter the lives of any of the PA Arabs and could result in these Israelis providing additional employment opportunities for PA Arabs residing in the region. PA Arabs have found that finding work in Israeli owned businesses provide their best opportunities with higher salaries than they can receive within the PA region. This was covered in this New York Times article which admits the advantage of Arabs finding employ with Israeli businesses though they amplify the idea that these businesses should not be permitted to operate in lands on which the New York Times does not believe that Israel has any claim, but they also do not believe Israel has any right to exist, so why should these be any different.

This bill would likely improve the lives of both Israelis and those who will be their PA Arab neighbors. Further, since these Israelis were removed, the IDF presence had to be maintained as threat and actual terror attacks increased when they removed their patrols and bases. These had to be reestablished. If the IDF had to be returned to the disengaged areas, why not allow the former resident Israelis to return. But despite the Prime Minister originally signaling that he would give this legislation the green light, he has since blocked its coming up for discussion a dozen times and appears to be about to do so once again. In the explanatory notes to the bill, it is written, “The purpose of the [Disengagement] plan was to lead to a better political, economic, demographic and security situation. Yet today it is clear to all that the Disengagement not only failed to achieve this goal, but in fact caused tremendous damage to the State of Israel in these areas. Despite the expulsion of the residents from northern Samaria, there was no change in the area in terms of the status of the land and the military presence there.” Justice Minister Shaked has brought the bill to the agenda of the Ministerial Committee for Legislation, and 12 times Netanyahu has removed the bill from the agenda with the aid of Minister Yariv Levin, who is the deputy chairman of the committee.

What are the reasons for this reversal of direction? The Prime Minister has given reasons of various types including, “We have to wait for coordination with the Americans,” “This is a politically sensitive time period,” “We cannot disrupt the struggle against the Iranian nuclear program,” and “We should wait until the relocation of the embassy.” None of these are the real reason. The real reason is far simpler; he likes being Prime Minister and will not alter the situation which makes him the sole legitimate savior. This is why there will be no change of the situation in Gaza or in the PA territories. As long as the threats remain and the people realize that steady leadership is the game, then he will remain Prime Minister. The good news is that in the future there is one who many people would rally around, were they to be placed as the party choice for Prime Minister. This would take an unusual move by that party, as they would need to place somebody who is not the leader of the party as their candidate. This is because the current party leader is not about to step aside while they continue to have strong support allowing them to remain as the party leader. So, all we can say is that with time things might arrive with the stars aligning in just the right way and the planets all lining up signaling a great and momentous event is coming. Until then, we wait and we apparently will continue to elect the man as Prime Minister. Until then, the status-quo is the way it will go.

But wait, there’s more. A group of Likud members are pressing for the upcoming “Nationality Law” to exclude the mention that Israeli code of law gives special consideration to traditional Jewish law. The rest of the “Nationality Law” includes the establishment of the status of the State of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish People and the right of the Jewish People to self-determination in its homeland as a unique right for the Jewish People. It would also anchor the symbols of the state with Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the Jewish calendar as the country’s official calendar, and Hebrew as the official language. The original writing of the “Nationality Law” also included provisions giving special consideration to traditional Jewish law but Likud Ministers of the Knesset have signaled their willingness to abandon the clause. “It is unthinkable that there would be no mention of “Mishpat Haivri” (traditional Jewish law) in the Nationality Law,” said Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee Chairman Nissan Slomiansky from the Jewish Home Party. Chairman Slomiansky added, “Likud leaders promised to include this in the Nationality Law. Has the Likud really decided to abandon Mishpat Haivri?” One can only wonder what the Prime Minister will demand of his party members as he has demanded this law be passed by the end of the summer session in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the leadership of the Jewish Home Party, a member party of the ruling coalition, has refused to vote to allow passage of the “Nationality Law” without the “Mishpat Haivri” clause. This could lead to a direct confrontation between these two nationalist parties with Jewish Home, as also a religious party, is standing on solid ground supported by their members to stand up and confront the ruling Likud Party over this issue and the result will be telling.

Back in the earlier and more innocent days of the State of Israel the world had little trouble discerning the main problem the Arab nations and the vast majority of their peoples have with Israel, the fact that it existed. This was made all the more obvious by their near constant threats to destroy Israel and drive the Jews into the sea. This was easy for most people, especially those in the western world, to figure out as numerous Arab spokespeople went out of their way to stress this point at every opportunity, and none more so than Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser and PLO leader Yasser Arafat. It was common perception until 1967 at the earliest and by the end of 1973 at the latest for many to realize that the Jews were not going to be overrun by any combination of Arab nations. The near outright victory in the Six Day War in June of 1967 in what many have thought would be the war that destroyed tiny little Israel as the numbers favored the Arab militaries by at least fifty-to-one and many thought even higher odds may have begun the perception of Israeli superiority. After the initial surprise attack having been launched in the Yom Kippur War it was again commonly thought that Israel was being overrun, that too led many to even begin mourning the death of Israel, even if a bit prematurely. Israel again turned the tide of battle once again. These two conflicts changed the perception of Israel as that small little country precariously clinging to life at the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea located in the midst of the core of the Arab world and the midst of those who most wished to destroy Israel and her citizens and seemingly had the military might to do so. That misconception was dispelled and was replaced with an equally erroneous expectation of Israel as the hegemonic power of the Middle East.

This perception was further enhanced by Israeli actions which themselves purported an enormous amount of pride and self-confidence. And why not walk proud and sound loud when one had vanquished their main and most immediate foes even after a surprise attack which many saw as the final Arab victory when initially the Arab forces had broken the Israeli defensive lines and were advancing towards Israel herself. Had it not been for the distance provided Israel by still holding the Sinai Peninsula having yet to return them upon making peace with Egypt, Israel would have easily been overrun and her Jews likely slaughtered. With the Sinai Peninsula Israel was afforded the time to gather her reserves and turn the tide which then led to immediate demands that the fighting be halted as Israel was now advancing on Cairo, Damascus and Alexandria and to completely routing her Arab foes in Egypt and Syria. During this period the Egyptian armies were under the command from Gamal Abdel Nasser’s successor, Anwar Sadat. It was the eventual routing of the Egyptian military which cinched the mind of Anwar Sadat to seek a peace with Israel as there appeared no other route, especially militarily, to regain the lost lands of the Sinai Peninsula which Israel hung out in total as an enticement for peace. This peace came about being signed in 1979 and taking effect in January of 1980. This was the reason given for the eventual assassination by a member of the Muslim Brotherhood of Anwar Sadat.

There are some, especially military historians, who believed at that time that this was an Israeli blunder as she could have retained at least half of the Sinai Peninsula retaining her mountainous midsection and the mountain passes allowing for greater tactical depth. Such a retention would also have set a precedent for Israel retaining lands gained in 1967 and defended in 1973, something considered normal and actually expected by most of the world. Israel, on the other hand, felt that little sacrifice was to be too excessive to make for peace. Still, it was this sacrifice which has long been used as the main argument that Israel realized that her conquest of the lands from her 1967 Six Day War to be illegal and thus imperative for them to be forfeit. Jordan proved to be the one who insisted Israel retain the lands that she retained after the war of 1948-9 knowing full well that those lands of Judea and Samaria and that Jordan had renamed West Bank to remove the obvious claim which Israel possessed over the lands. Jordanian annexation was refused by the entire world even to include the Arab League and its members with only Britain and Pakistan recognizing the annexation.

There has been a long period of time since the hot warfare erupted almost as if on a time schedule between the Arab world and Israel. This has permitted a sea of changes in the perceptions of the conflict and by that in the expectations for making peace. Forgotten is the peace with Egypt where the entirety of the Sinai Peninsula was returned to Egypt but that Egypt surrendered the lands she occupied and proved so by never annexing or incorporating them into Egypt, namely the Gaza Strip. After making peace with Egypt the Gaza Strip was returned unto Israeli rule as had been the default condition at the beginning of the war for Jewish genocide against the nascent state of Israel starting officially on May 15, 1948 and ending almost a year and a half later. The next to make peace was Jordan who also returned those lands she had occupied since the end of hostilities in that same war against Israel, returning to the originally drawn border between the two, intended to be the Jordan River. It was subsequent to this peace treaty that Jordan then backed the claim that there existed some state known as Palestine that had rightful claim to those lands of the West Bank and that Jordan had ruled over these lands illegally and that Israel was now obliged to give up the lands for the formation of Palestine. This was an enormous hoax by which the Arab League using Yasser Arafat’s PLO terror group to make a spurious claim of another Arab nation, the twenty-third, and claiming that Israel was occupying that nation’s actual homelands. Check history in 1967 before June and find Palestine on a map existing from any modern time before June of 1967 which has any reference to a nation known as Palestine. Unfortunately, the education system, the media, the European nations, the United Nations, the European Union, the Arab League and much of the remainder of the world even including the United States State Department all now support this fiction and the youth who were born after about 1960 have grown up much of their lives and all of their adult lives under this misconception that Israel stole through the 1967 war the lands destroying the nation of Palestine and that the area referred to as the West Bank replacing the names for the lands historically of Judea and Samaria, a substitution made by Jordan when she annexed these lands in 1950 leading to her being the occupying power of Israeli territory and never of anything named Palestine. Palestine is a fabrication meant to take land from Israel, and there is where the deceptions grow deeper still.

The deceptions grow deeper the more one connects the dots, dots being obscured by what are some very skilled and practiced deceivers who have funding beyond imaginations. Foremost amongst the deceptions is that all the Palestinians desire is their small homelands returned to them. Do not believe me then perhaps you can believe a member of the PLO executive committee. Zahir Muhsein. You see, way back on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here’s what he said:

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.
For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”

Don’t want to believe me? I understand, but would you believe Wikipedia or Daniel Pipes or Wikiquote or simply use the search engine of your choice and query, Zahir Muhsein Dutch newspaper Trouw.

Then there is that reputed grassroots effort which goes by the name of BDS and has infected unbelievable campuses of colleges and universities in the West and untold numbers of mainstream media types and politicians around the world, yet probably less than 10% know the actual origins and financial support for the entirety of the BDS movement. The BDS movement originated as the Arab boycott and at some point it was thought that this boycott could be taken to the international audience and that the world was ready to join with this idea. Imagine the shock when the BDS movement did not catch on like wildfire. So it was turned over to be managed out of Ramallah by the PLO’s successor, the Palestinian Authority or PA. The PA would invest hundreds of thousands of dollars and eventually hundreds of millions of dollars and who even knows the full extent of the monies now invested in the BDS movement which is still primarily supported out of the PA budget but hidden under Fatah or the PLO or any number of different entities such that it is never discovered except as being amongst the information propaganda efforts. The monies used by the BDS movement is distributed through a system of channels through which everything flows as cash money, no bank accounts or other such traceable revenue streams, it is an all cash business and as such numerous people have been greatly enriched personally by the BDS cash flow. The BDS is sold in the Western World as a boycott of items from Israel which has some connection to the West Bank and never as a boycott of Israel itself. That is a deception as the BDS movement is designed by the PA and PLO to continue, as stated honestly in the literature, until Israel has been removed from all of their occupied Palestinian lands, code words for that chant you hear so often at rallies for the Palestinian cause, “From the River Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea; Palestine must be free.” There is no differentiation between inside and outside the Green Line; the BDS movement is designed to destroy all of Israel. The leadership of the BDS movement mostly serves double duty as they also organize the Israel Apartheid Week (or month) on campuses across the Western World once again to vilify all of Israel. Most of these efforts were launched at the first two Durban Conferences which were titled as “The United Nations World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance,” one of the greatest misnomers in the history of deceptions. The conference broke down into a few separate items with one subject serving as the overriding target covered though there was also mention about reparations for slavery mostly to be paid by the United States and European powers and none to be paid by Middle Eastern and Asian nations. By and large the conference became a bash Israel fest to such a point that Canada joined the United States and Israel in quitting the first conference and not returning for subsequent conferences as they appeared to be simply updates and devising new tactics in the war against Israel.

The BDS movement lies and hypocrisies are just the tip of the iceberg. The proof has been easy to see if one just opens their eyes. Numerous of the store assaults, something often used against supermarkets or department stores, are not delicate surgical procedures, they are slash and burn procedures. They are riotous assaults where participants storm through the victimized location knocking over displays and showing a general disrespect for property all in the guise of BDS. They storm throughout the store seeking any items which are made by specific companies as well as any items marked as being produced by Israel without the slightest concern for whether they were manufactured or grown within the Green Line or in the disputed territories. There is little if any surgical precision or even the remotest attention to nuanced targeting, they are simply slash and burn of all items Israel and any mistake, well, it was an honest mistake and doesn’t Israel deserve the additional monetary price being paid. The sad item is that it is the store owner paying that price and actually their insurance provider. The truth is that the eventual price tag falls to the consumer as they will pay the increased price eventually.

But all that does not matter because the truth is in the message and that message is that Israel is an evil occupation force which stole Palestinian Lands during the war in 1948-9. Wait, I hear many of you calling out, don’t you mean in 1967? I mean 1967 as much as the Arabs and their stooges mean 1967 and I mean starting with the war that went officially hot in 1948 just as they mean 1948 and finally I mean to infer that this war started in 1922 with the first Arab anti-Jew pogrom just as they see this as a continuation of the 1922 riots and do not plan on stopping until the Jew has been entirely erased from all of their lands from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea just as many Arab nations drove the Jews from their soil by the middle of the 1950s possibly keeping a few remnants just as back before the 1960s numerous companies had the ‘company Jew’ which proved they were not guilty of anti-Semitism. The Hamas Charter goes the additional step of demanding that all of Israel be liberated from the Jew and then the world be cleansed of the Jew and only after that does the final conversions begins to take place. Once again we see one group telling the truth that what they plan to start with the Jew will end with all others once the Jew has been eradicated. Then there was the desire stated by Hezballah leader Nasrallah who hoped that all the Jews from every corner of the globe would make their way back to Israel so that his terrorist armies would not be required to search all over the globe to eradicate the last Jews as they would all be gathered in Israel. What is frightening is that Nasrallah might just get his way as far as religiously observant Jews outside of a small number of super-religious Jews who will refuse to leave until the Messiah gives them a hand written gold-leaf embossed personal invitation on perfumed stationary before they will even debate if the Messiah is the real deal. In the meantime I am simply trying to figure out how to get my daughter and grandchildren to make Aliyah.

The lies and deceits are deep beyond imagination. There are those who when speaking of Jews and Israel will come out, this has been done by a number of Iranian Imams and leaders as well as other Islamic Holocaust deniers who in a single breath will proclaim that there never was a holocaust and the Jews invented it and Allah willing there will be another Holocaust this time perpetrated by the Arabs or Muslims. Others have denied the Holocaust only to turn and claim they are dedicated to finishing what Adolph Hitler began. Abbas has made a perfectly valid statement knowing full well that the World and especially the political and media worlds will misinterpret what he meant and he can continue in his duplicitous stratagems. His comment is that he simply desires to claim his rightful 22% of the lands and then he will be satisfied, and in that he is speaking the truth. But the Western politicians and media will interpret this as meaning that all he wants are the lands of Judea and Samaria and then some even add in Gaza which places the error on the other end. You see there is only one measurement of lands that comes out almost within a few square meters of being exactly 22% and only one. When one takes Judea and Samaria compared to the entirety one finds that to be just a smidgeon above 21% and if then adding in Gaza the amount climbs to just short of 23%. But if one takes the British Mandate and subtracts the almost exactly 78% of the lands which constitute Jordan that leaves 22.06% of the lands not taken to form Jordan thus making all of Israel including Judea, Samaria (West Bank), Gaza and everything within the Green Line it is basically Abbas’s 22% plain and simple. People argue that I am splitting hairs and if I am it is only because I have seen not only Mahmoud Abbas be accurate to that degree of fault, especially when using a fuzzily and hazily defined set of terms to misdirect a willfully-blind media, but to lead easily doped hypocritical politicians and the rest of the useful idiots out in the world.

There has recently begun a very troubling and, though not at all unexpected, disconcerting set of events which has shown a growing tendency for those who are anti-Israel and anti-Zionist to also add a new feather to their bonnet which is an ancient feather which some have claimed is the feather representing the most ancient of hatreds, anti-Semitism. This had been manifest originally by the rampaging hooligans who destroyed anything labeled made in Israel and then blamed Israel for not denoting which merchandise was occupied-lands-free. This has now spread just that one next step to a bigger circle to include Jews as a guilty party by inference of possibly supporting Israel. Before going further into this, please allow us to predict the next and undeniably obvious incrimination to include another select and hated group to the list of guilty of the sin of Israel and that will be Evangelicals followed subsequently by conservatives of almost any stripe which is not anti-Semitic in nature to begin with. The worrying part in all of this has been the indoctrination of the youth, in particular those impressionable students in the colleges and universities and now starting to be brought into the classrooms of the high schools and lower grades as well. The problem with this is that today’s college, and especially high school, students are the leaders and shapers of society tomorrow (tomorrow = one to two decades but this is already well on its way so say five to ten years). The other fronts which are being implemented through intervention have been prison populations and the unions, especially teachers’ unions.

The BDS and anti-Israel and anti-Zionist leadership have already largely taken over the steering and defining of one of the United States two major political parties and in many European nations taken a grasp on many if not all political parties. One is guaranteed to find these views supported by the Communists, the Fascists, the Socialists and the leftist human rights guarantors. The conservatives are not completely above these influences but do tend to be the less confused and fooled. If we look around the Western World we find the staunchest supporters of Israel on the right of the political spectrum. Let’s talk first about the conservatives and leftists where they are most easily to differentiate, the two main political parties in the United States. The few Democrats who remain strong supporters of Israel are also the moderates and almost squeezed from the Democrat roles. One of the most conservative of the Republican hopefuls for the ticket for President in 2016 is Ted Cruz who is about as pro-Israel as they come as are many of his supporters. Some other true conservatives who fall heavily on the side of Israel and some even willing to claim that Israel is at the forefront of this culture war and the real leader of the Western World are former United States Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, former Florida United States Congressman and retired U.S. Army Colonel Alan West, and current District One Representative in Oklahoma Jim Bridenstine. The reality struck home to those paying attention, a select few and you know who you are (our readers of course, the informed few), during the 2012 Democrat convention. There was a motion on the floor before the delegates which was to restore to the platform faith in G0d and support for Jerusalem to be the recognized capital of Israel. They called for a voice vote and it failed so the shocked chair restates the motion more deliberately and it is voice vote refused once again, and finally, after a quick consult from a ranking member, call for the vote again not hearing much in the way of a change, simply pronounced the motion adopted and moved on to a somewhat disturbed and perturbed hall. Other examples exist headed by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and British Prime Minister David Cameron with other notable supporters such as Geert Wilders who is a Minister in the Dutch Parliament. Unfortunately, supporting Israel is beginning to become a difficult position to hold through much of Europe and the rise in anti-Semitism is one of the lagging indicators. A direct relationship can be drawn between the drop in support for Israel and a coming increase in anti-Semitism. The rising anti-Semitism takes a number of different paths and like water it finds the paths of least resistance initially and then builds until it has the powers of tsunami and then comes the horrific and heinous results which if left unchecked anti-Semitism inevitable leads to. The proof of this is written throughout the over three-millennia of Jewish history from the Egyptian enslavement to the Babylonian exile to the eventual dark times under Persia to Greece, Rome, to Muslim and Crusader treachery alike to Muslims across North Africa and in the Middle East to European Kings and Barons to the Inquisition to the pogroms of the Czars and the Caliphs of the Ottomans and their lessor officials to the Nazis and the Communists to the current day Islamists and the coming waves of hatreds which now appear on the verge of cascading across the world from numerous equally volatile sources leading to potentially unprecedented levels with previously uncharted ramifications. Where the current spiral of hatreds will end or even if it will have an end is beyond any mortal perceptive intellect. One might ponder as to where are the prophets when one needs their guidance more than ever as threats and ravenous beasts rage at the gates and the barbarians have already found entrance ahead of the dark and ominous clouds on the horizon. One might hope that the threat of a previously unknown and apocalyptic storm perched on the horizon waiting for the sunrise simply to burst from its moorings and dissolve the sunlight into the pitched darkness of the darkest night and winds howling like the midnight wolves hungering for fresh meat leaving even the sane screaming against the thought of what the next precious hours of history may unfold quaking in fear of the unknown horrors now imagined. Is this our time, is this our destiny, is this the end of ends.
